My Best Friend's Little Brother Chapter 7: Like Home to Me The good thing about it being Saturday was that, unlike yesterday, I would get to spend the whole day with Noah. Noah, Tanner, and I were going to watch the Orioles play our hometown Tigers in the afternoon, and return for a small barbecue at night with a couple of Emma's friends from high school and their husbands. The bad thing about it being Saturday was that it meant my weekend with Noah was rapidly coming to an end. Tonight was our last night, and we would have to leave early tomorrow to get home at a reasonable time. I woke up exhausted. I heard the twins loudly playing downstairs. 7:53am the clock on my phone read, as I checked it with only one eye open. As I checked my phone I also saw a Snapchat notification from Noah that he sent last night. It was from 3:41am. I opened it to find a selfie of Noah's beautiful face up close. The text read: Come backkkkkkk. I miss youuuuuuu I missed him too. I quickly threw on a pair of pajama pants and a white tee and headed downstairs. I found the twins alone in the living room, loudly and wildly, playing with Barbie's. I greeted them good morning, and quickly made my way to the kitchen for some much needed coffee. Tanner was alone in the kitchen washing dishes. "Good morning" I said, in a tired whisper. "Oh, you're finally up," Tanner stated angrily, "the twins woke up two hours ago, you're late to the party" "I'm sorry" was all I could muster. Tanner put both hands on the countertop, on either side of the sink, and looked down. "I'm sorry. It's not your fault. Emma's still in bed, hungover from last night." I walked over to Tanner and put my right hand on the back of his shoulder and gently rubbed it. I could sense him ease up with my touch. "It's okay, Tan. I'm here to help" I told him, in a comforting tone. I poured myself a cup of coffee and returned to the living room to help get the twins under control. I ended up reading them some books, in some very silly voices, in an effort to calm them down. It seemed to work. Tanner came in and smiled when he saw the three of us reading on the couch. "Hey, I'm gonna go upstairs and shower and wake Emma. You got this?" Tanner said to me. "Go away, daddy!!!" The twins yelled back, almost in unison. Tanner and I laughed. I continued to read to the twins as Tanner disappeared upstairs. The twins quickly got bored with reading. I asked them what they wanted for Christmas, sure it was still six months away, but like most kids, they were already looking forward to it. I feigned amusement as the twins talked over each other, excitedly, telling me about all the toys they wanted for Christmas. Tanner came downstairs, dressed in blue jeans and an orange Tigers t-shirt. He was alone, and visibly upset. "Where's mommy?" Miley said as Tanner entered the room. "Mommy is still feeling a little sick. She will be down soon" Tanner said, as he joined me on the couch. Tanner and I spent the rest of the morning entertaining the twins. An hour went by. Still no Emma. Still no Noah. Then another hour passed. Still no Emma. Still no Noah. It was quickly getting to the time Tanner, Noah, and I were supposed to leave to go downtown. "I'm gonna get the twins changed and get Emma out of bed," Tanner said, with a sigh, "can you get Noah up?.... and make sure he showers" I smiled at the mention of Noah's name. I happily agreed. Tanner went upstairs with the twins, and I went downstairs to my boy. Noah was already awake, lying on the couch under a blanket, playing on his phone. "Oh, You're already up." I said, smiling. "Pretty hard to sleep when there's a party going on directly above you." "Well, then why didn't you come up to join the party? "I need my beauty rest." Noah said, sarcastically, as he put down his phone and turned to me, smiling. I took Noah in. His hair was still messy from the activities of the previous night. His blue eyes were weary, but still beautiful, I got lost in them. "Stop staring at me, creep" Noah said, laughing. "Never." I said, sternly, as I made my way across the room to Noah. Noah smiled lustfully at me as I approached. I leaned down and gave his soft lips a quick kiss. "I missed you." I whispered, pulling away from his lips, feeling his warm morning breath. My kiss transformed the cute Noah back into the Noah from last night. I found it so hot how horny Noah could get. Noah reached for my face, pulling me back to him for another kiss, this one longer and more passionate. As I stood above him, I felt his small hand pulling at the back of my thick thigh, begging me to get on top of him. I reached out and yanked the blanket off of him, revealing Noah's completely naked body. I climbed on top of him, straddling my hairy legs around his slim hairless body. I put my hands on the pillow where Noah's head laid, one hand on both sides of him. I leaned in hard, kissing him forcibly, my thick beard brushing against his smooth face. My hairy body pressed against his boney ribs. Noah reached down and grabbed my hard cock, which was poking out of my pajamas. "We have to go soon, baby" I said to Noah as I lifted my face from his. "Just real quick" Noah begged, throwing his arms around my neck, trying and failing, to pull my face back to his. "You gotta shower and get ready" "You can't make me," Noah said, stubbornly. With Noah's arms still draped on my neck, I leaned in and kissed him again, as I did, I removed one leg from the couch, as our tongues tied, I then quickly moved the other leg over Noah's slim body and off the couch. I then scooped Noah's naked body up in one brisk motion. One arm under his boney knees, the other held his smooth back. I pulled away from our kiss as I stood. Noah didn't try to fight me. He kept his arms around my neck, staring up at me, with an expression worth a million bucks. His small body felt perfect in my muscular arms. I could carry him all day. I walked into the dark bathroom and found my way to the shower. I carried Noah in and gently set him down. The shower was barely big enough for the both of us. As I set him on his feet I quickly pinned him against the back wall. I wanted one last taste of him. I kissed him hard and quick. As I kissed him I lifted his right arm towards the ceiling. I quickly pulled away from his face and moved to his hairless armpit, pressing my nose against it. His strong boy-smell pierced through my nostrils and into my body. I moaned in pleasure. "Pew. You stink" I said, playfully, pulling away to look into Noah's eyes. "You love it." Noah responded, seductively. I returned my face to his smooth, stinky, armpit to get one last whiff. I gave it a quick lick before I pulled away. I gave his raging-hard 4 inch dick a little tug, and gave Noah one last look, letting him know with my eyes that I loved every inch of him. It took every bit of my will power not to strip and shower with Noah. I somehow managed to find the strength to exit the shower, turning it on as I stepped out. "Don't be in there too long" I said, as I flicked on the light and stepped out of the bathroom. I set the over/under to 45 seconds until Noah sprayed his boy jizz all over that shower. I made my way upstairs to take a shower of my own. As I reached the guest room. I could hear what I thought was arguing coming from Tanner and Emma's room. I took my shower as quickly as possible and got dressed. I sadly only brought one jock with me, so I had to settle for just a pair of tight black boxer briefs, over which I put a pair of tight black shorts which came down all the way to just above my knee. On top, I put on a Tigers jersey, leaving the top few buttons open, just barely showing off my hairy chest. I threw on a Tigers snapback hat to complete the outfit, and headed downstairs. The twins were in the living room alone, playing peacefully with Barbie's on the floor. "Tanner?" I said loudly "In the kitchen," Tanner shouted back. I headed to the kitchen and found Tanner leaning against the counter sipping coffee, looking very sad. "What's wrong, buddy?" "I can't go to the game. Emma is still too hungover. I need to watch the twins." "I'm so sorry, Tan." "I just can't believe it. I know she didn't mean to go overboard last night, but she also knew how much this meant to me," Tanner said, nearing tears, "when I agreed to move with Emma to Baltimore after college to be close to her family, I gave up so, fucking, much. All my friends, all my family... you," Tanner paused and looked at me, "I mean, I missed watching Noah grow up. Each time I go home I recognize the boy that I knew less and less. Last time I came back it was like he was a new person, like he was all grown up... I missed so much." Tanner looked to the floor, then continued. "I don't regret moving here, I love the little life I have with Emma and the twins. But I'm just so, goddamned, lonely sometimes. All of my friends are either Emma's friends from high school or parents of the twin's playmates. It's not the same," Tanner turned red, "if it wasn't for you visiting often, I don't know if I could make it. You're like home to me. Whenever you're here it's like we're fifteen again. Yesterday just playing pickleball with you and Noah was the most fun I've had in a long time. You and Noah are so funny together." Tanner said with a smile. As I heard Tanner use the word together while referring to me and Noah, I couldn't help but smile. Noah and I were "funny" together. "I had a lot of fun too. I was really looking forward to the game, but I was more so looking forward to spending time with you. We can skip the game. Maybe take the twins to a museum or something?" I said, optimistically. "It's your vacation, too, Stephen. And I know you don't want to do that." Tanner said, plainly. He was right, but I'd do it if it meant I'd get to spend a day with my best friend. "Maybe Emma's parents can watch them?" "Already called them, they're busy, of course." Tanner said, annoyed. "Well I can stay and watch the twins, and you can take Noah to the game." As much as I wanted to be with Noah, I also wanted Tanner to be happy. I wouldn't be happy to sacrifice my time with Noah, but I would be willing to. Tanner's made way bigger sacrifices for me through the years. One in particular stands out. When I was 19, I dropped out of college, moved to a small apartment in downtown Detroit, and got a job building trucks on the assembly line, the job I still have to this day. It was a big change. I had spent the previous year and a half rooming with Tanner in a dorm room. Shortly after moving to the city I met a guy and fell in love. It was the first guy I had ever fallen in love with, well, outside of Tanner, of course. He was perfect. We were together for about a year when he suddenly broke up with me. We were talking about moving in together and everything, then one day he just seemed to not want me anymore. I was crushed. I called Tanner sobbing. He talked me down for about 10 minutes, and told me he would come visit me on the weekend, in three days' time. Two hours later he was at my door with my favorite pizza. We sat on my couch and watched dumb rom-coms all night. He even put his arm around me, and let me cuddle up to his chest. I fell asleep with him holding me. It meant the world to me. Years later Emma told me that night was the night of her and Tanner's first date, or at least it was supposed to be. Tanner had just picked her up and they were walking to dinner when I called. She thought he was so rude for talking on the phone for so long, and then when he told her that he was going to have to cancel the date, she stormed off, vowing to never see him again. She said Tanner tried apologizing for weeks, but she ignored him. She told me that about a month went by, and she couldn't get the incident out of her mind. The more she thought about it, the more she started to see it in a positive light. The idea that a twenty year old guy would cancel a date with a pretty girl, to drive an hour and a half away, to console his best friend, mystified her. She had to get to know this guy, so she gave him another chance. The rest, as they say, was history. Babysitting the twins while Tanner and Noah went to the game, would be the least I could do for him. "No, it's fine, Noah is actually a red sox fan." "Ew why?" I said, disgusted. "I dunno dude, he's a bandwagon I guess." Tanner said, laughing. "You have failed him." I said, only half kidding. "My parents drive him out here once a year when the sox are in town, and I take him to a game. And they were just here last month. So we just went to a game together," Tanner smiled, "You take him today. I think he'd really enjoy it." Before I had a chance to respond, Noah had come up from the basement. "What are you guys talking about?" I heard Noah say from behind me. I turned to look at Noah. His long dirty blonde hair was still slightly wet from his shower. He was wearing khaki 4' inch inseam chubbies shorts and an orange tank top, which was at least one size too big for him. It made his small body look somehow slimmer. On his cute little feet were a pair of black flip flops. He certainly knew how to dress to turn me on. "I was just telling Stephen that he'd have to take you to the game alone" "Really?" Noah said, way too excited, "why?" He added, feigning regret. "I'm gonna have to watch the twins. Emma still isn't feeling well." I wanted to push back on Tanner, and insist that he take Noah to the game. Looking at Noah's face I knew I could never do it. It would hurt Noah too much to hear me tell Tanner that I was okay not taking him to the game, even if we both knew it was the right thing to do. The three of us stood around and talked briefly. Noah babbled on a mile-a-minute about how excited he was for the game, I could tell it hurt Tanner. "You guys should really head out, if you don't leave soon, you won't be able to get lunch before the game" Tanner said, sadly. Noah crossed the room and gave Tanner a goodbye hug, and thanked him for letting him go to the game with me. Noah then practically skipped out of the room and out of the front door. The mood shifted when Noah left the room. It became tense. I started to tell Tanner that he should've taken Noah to the game, but he quickly cut me off. "He wants to go with you, and you know it." Tanner reached for his wallet, grabbed some cash and tried to give me it to pay for Noah's lunch. I refused. "I insist." Tanner said, taking my hand and putting the cash in it, aggressively. I took it and put it in my pocket, knowing I would just throw it on the counter before I left to go back to Michigan tomorrow. "I didn't mean to, Tanner." I thought I was caught. I thought Tanner knew that I was falling for his little brother. "I know, you can't help it if he has a crush on you, right?" "Righttt" I nervously responded, lying through my teeth. Tanner gave me a hug goodbye. "I trust you," Tanner whispered in my ear as we embraced. I pulled away from him quickly. "I trust you," Tanner repeated, almost aggressively, as I went to leave. I couldn't read Tanner's face. Part of me thought he was just saying he trusts me to keep his little brother safe. Part of me felt like he was like a Dad threatening his daughter's prom date. If I had to choose which was more likely, I'd definitely choose the latter. For the first time I seriously contemplated coming clean. Telling Tanner everything. I couldn't go behind Tanner's back anymore. I didn't want to continue to break his trust. It could cost me everything if I came clean and told him. If I didn't come clean, it could eventually cost me Noah. A fate far worse. I went outside and found Noah leaning against my car, he smiled when our eyes locked, a smile worth risking everything for.
