"Change round time!" I gasped incredulously, "Hey chaps, I need a moment to recover!" Enzo eased off my cock and stood, "Ya'll can do that, while we do you. Now get on your knees." It had been a hell of a night. I don't think we had stopped shagging the whole time. I put Dexy and Enzo's stamina down to their cut cocks lacking much feeling, me I had cum several times, my last time being a squirming, near painful, dry one. ** Operation Pied Piper – Part 149c – Part 149c minor characters making an appearance or receiving a mention: Colonel Enzo Lombardi - (Enzo/Colonel Lombardi) US Army - Dexy's boss. Davy had just gotten up and was pulling off his nightshirt. "Oh Davy, my head, I think I am dying. No, actually, I think I am dead already." If I was hoping for sympathy, none was forthcoming. "You're not dead, I can hear you talking, anyway, it serves you right, I told you to slow down, but oh no, 'bring another bottle, bring another bottle'... All night." I buried my face into the pillow, "Davy, be nice... I'm dying." "No, you're not. Now get up! You invited everyone for breakfast, remember? They will be here soon." I suddenly felt sick. "Did I? are you sure?" I couldn't remember a thing. "Yes, now get up." Davy pulled the covers off of me. "I am going for a shower. NOW GET UP!" "But, Daveeeee." "Forts, get up!" The ensuite door banged open. I called after him. "Daveee, I did it for the orphans, remember!" "That's bollocks Forts, you did it for a big turkey at Christmas, now get up." I called after him, "And for the orphans... Daveee, why do you hate me?" "FORTS, GET UP AND GET IN THE SHOWER!" * I could feel myself dry swallowing, desperately trying not to throw up. The smell of the fried breakfast Albert was setting out on the server was overwhelming. Davy was still glaring at me. I pouted. "No, Forts, this is all self-inflicted! Now smile, they will all be here soon." "But I did it for the orphans." I whined back. Davy just shook his head and then grinned and made a gobbling sound and pretended to be a Christmas turkey. I glanced round the table, several extension leaves had been put in. God, how many people had I invited for breakfast? I glanced up as Albert sighed, my mood immediately lifted as Calvin walked in with a covered silver dish containing yet more food from the kitchen. Calvin looked over and smiled broadly at us both. Davy returned his smile and shook his head, glaring at me, "Don't you dare!" I gave Davy a cheeky smile and began to open my mouth as if to say something. "Forts, I am warning you!" Davy turned away and I let out a quiet little, "Honk, honk." Forcing myself to look all innocent as Davy glared at me again. * Moments later the door opened and Duke stuck his head in to the room. "Everyone is here for breakfast, can I let them in?" "Yes, please Duke." Davy stood to welcome everyone. I got another glare. I smiled, then playfully pouted and mouthed, "Why do you hate me?" Davy turned to the door, shaking his head. First through the door were James and Chris, with Dima and Robert following behind. Chris obviously hadn't drunk as much as me. "Morning all," he said way too loudly and cheerfully. His face lit up when he saw Calvin. "Oh great, Charlie is here!" Davy smiled, "Chris, not this morning, please. I have already told him." He gestured back at me. As soon as Davy looked away, I honked my nose. Chris giggled as Davy spun back to face me, then back at Chris, who also got a glare. Chris put on a strained serious face, "Oh." He came to the table and sat down. "God, Forts you look rough." "Yeah, thanks for that". I think Davy was about to say something when Marcus arrived with Enzo and Dexy. Thankfully they all looked as rough as me. "Mornin ya'll." Davy shook his hand and kissed his cheek. "Did you sleep okay? I hope you liked your room, Colonel." Enzo grinned and turned to Dexy and Marcus, "Didn't get much sleep if I am honest, his Lordship is inexhaustible." "His Lordship?" "Yeah, my buddy Marcus, here." Enzo gripped Marcus round the shoulders. Chris gave a chuckle and was shushed by James. Dima, well, his face was a picture of disbelief. Marcus blushed uncomfortably. He mouthed, "Sorry," to a smiling Davy. * By the time we had finished eating, I was feeling a lot better. Enzo leant over to me, "I hear you enjoy riding, you got any horses? Dexy and I used to ride all the time in Texas." I nodded, "Yes, in fact I have to check up on one of my mares. She is about to foal. You can come with me if you want. Maybe go for a ride?" "Gee, yeah, sounds good. But I didn't bring my riding stuff." I smiled, "Don't worry, you can borrow some of mine." * With Dexy, Enzo and even Duke and I now suitably attired in riding gear we made our way up the path and up to the stables. I was leaving Davy to run the morning meeting. Pegasus must have heard my voice. His head popped out over the stall door and he gave a whinny of welcome. Pegasus' head was quickly followed by Will's. He was in the stall next door, the one temporarily holding Daphne. "Good morning, Fo..." Will stopped himself as he saw the two Americans in riding gear. "Good morning, Your Imperial Highness, gentlemen." "Good morning, Will. Are you looking after Daphne now? Oh, sorry Enzo, this is my head groom, Will." Enzo smiled and winked. His eyes running up and down Wills' tight white Jodhpurs. Will stiffened and nodded, "Yes, Robin has gone to the kitchens for his breakfast and I ordered him to get freshened up, he stank." I felt Duke stiffen beside me. "He did sleep all night in a stable!" Will just turned away and back to me. "Robin will be taking over again as soon as he gets back." I nodded and opened the stall and went in. "Hello girl." I clapped a very heavily pregnant Daphne on the neck. "I have an important guest to see you." I waved Enzo into the stall. I smiled to myself as he did my 'horsey thing' as Davy called it. He hadn't been lying, he knew horses. He stood back and glanced over her, "She won't be long, I don't think. Looks like a big foal, too." I clapped Daphne again, "It is, Will here is to call the vet as soon as she shows any signs it is on its way." I glanced at Will, he nodded. I led Enzo from the stall. "We had better let her rest." He nodded. We had only just closed her stall door when there was a mighty thump against the neighbouring door and a loud snort. Enzo burst into a broad smile, "And who is this fella wanting attention?" "That's Pegasus. It is his foal Daphne is carrying." "No wonder the foal is so big. Look at him!" Enzo fearlessly approached Pegasus and clapped him, and repeated the 'horsey thing'. "You're a big boy, aren't you? I bet you go like the wind." I smiled. "Come on, let's show you... Will, can you tackle up Pegasus, Hunter, Baxter and Thunder for us, please? I will stay with Daphne for a moment." * We had an amazing ride, Enzo seemed to really enjoy it, so did the horses. As we dismounted, Enzo was grinning, "I still don't get your saddles, you have nowhere to rest your hands or tie off a steer." I put my arm round him. "I have to confess, we don't do too much steer lassoing here." Duke, was grinning, desperately trying not to laugh. By late afternoon and after a full lunch, it was time for Enzo and Dexy to leave us. The visit had gone better than any of could have imagined. Enzo was a new friend to Pittodrie. I embraced them both, telling them that they were both welcome anytime. * Before heading in for dinner, I made a last check on Daphne. Once again Will was with her, I had missed Robin again, this time he was having his dinner. "How is she, Will?" "Good, Forts." "And you have told Robin what to do and what to watch out for?" "Yes Forts." I clapped her once more and headed back to the house. ** Jeremy takes up the story later that evening Will's ankles were up on my shoulders, my thick seven-inch cut cock buried deep in his arse. I grunted with each thrust I made into his warm hole. He had his eyes closed, his head buried back into the pillow. We were upstairs in the small sleeping area above his office in the stable block. At least here we didn't have to listen to Duke shagging the life out of Robin. I pulled back, leaving just my flared cock head inside him. I rolled my hips, watching my cockhead tease out his gripping sphincter muscle before plunging back in. The contact with his man nut was making him gasp and moan out loud. "More!" Dreamily he opened his eyes, his lips tightly pursed, "Please, don't stop, fuck me. Please." I thrust home again, forcing out a long, "Oooooyeesssss," from between his lips. "WILL! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?" Will's eyes flashed wide open. It was Forts, and he didn't sound happy. "Up here." Will answered meekly as I scrambled to get off him. The racing, heavy footsteps thumbed up the wood staircase. Forts exploded from the top of the staircase just as Will got to his feet. Forts launched at him, shoving him hard back towards the bed. "Just what the fuck do you think you were doing? If Daphne dies, I will fucking kill you with my bare hands!" Tears were streaming down Forts' face as his shoves turned to punches. "Forts, stop." We were joined in the room by a breathless Duke who grabbed Forts and tried to restrain him. Forts' fists continued to fly out towards Will who was now cowering naked on the bed in total shock. Duke managed to get his arms round Forts and was holding him back tightly against his chest, slowly trying to ease him away backwards. Forts was screaming, "Get yourself fucking dressed and get down to that stable and fucking start praying neither Daphne nor her foal dies!" Duke pulled Forts back to the side of the room, which allowed Will to get up. He began to pull his clothes on. "What's happened? I told Robin he was to stay with her!" I could tell Will was trying to brazen it out, sadly his voice came across as sneering and slightly arrogant. "He has!" Duke snarled. "While you two have been shagging. You haven't been near him for hours." Forts grunted and made to lunge at Will again. Duke's muscled arms bulged as he restrained him. Forts exploded, "YOU fucking didn't tell him what to look out for, DID YOU? Everything the vet told you, you fucking kept to yourself... You set him up... Daphne has been bloody restless for hours and her waters have now just broken. You didn't tell him anything." Forts' voice began to break up as his emotions overwhelmed him. He began to sag in Duke's arms, "You didn't tell him... you didn't tell him... How could you do that?." I watched as Forts' anger, which seemed to have waned, surged again. "You bloody assured me you had!" Once more, Duke had to restrain him from reaching Will. I was stunned, Will had told me that the vet had spoken at length about what to look out for, and hearing he hadn't told Robin sent a shiver down my spine. I heard myself mumbling, "You didn't tell Robin what the vet told you? God, Will... Why?" Will pulled on his jacket and threw me a dirty, scornful look. "Not you too... I am going to sort out the mess this useless boy has caused!" Will stopped and looked back at Duke, "Has anyone called the vet yet?" Duke was obviously trying to stay calm, he exhaled. "We have tried, but he is out on a call. No one knows where he is." When he heard that, it was the first time I saw Will's face pale. He swallowed and squeezed past Duke who was still cradling a distraught Forts. Duke hissed at Will. "You disgust me." Will didn't answer. He just ran down the stairs, the door to the office banging shut behind him, the silence in the room being replaced by his booted feet running across the stable yard. Duke released Forts. I was still stunned. "Forts, I promise I didn't know he hadn't told Robin what to look out for." Forts nodded, the fight now gone from him. "Get dressed, we will probably need your help. I have phoned the House. Archie stayed here last night. I am hoping he knows what to do." Forts turned and began to head down the stairs. I reached out my hand. "Duke, please believe me, I didn't know about this." Duke nodded and followed Forts down the stairs. I quickly dressed and headed out into the stable yard. * Archie takes up the story. I ran to the stables in just my trousers, trying to pull on my shirt and do up the buttons as I ran. Athol was close behind me. Forts had sounded distraught on the phone. At full pelt I ran into the stable yard. Forts and Duke were walking slowly from the office across the yard, Forts looked awful. Daphne's stable door was wide open. I ran straight in, Daphne was up on her feet. Robin was holding her halter and trying to calm her, but her eyes were wild looking. Will was doing something at her rear end. Pegasus' large black head, strangely silent, was looking quietly over the stall wall. Poor thing, he seemed to sense something was very wrong. Robin's face was tear streaked. He stood holding the distressed-looking Daphne's halter. As I entered, he began sobbing, "I'm sorry, I didn't know, I didn't know." Will, the head groom, snapped at him, "Shut up." He was down at the business end, pulling at something. "What are you doing?" I barked at him, "Get back, let me have a look." He stepped back, "I think they are its front hooves." I could immediately see they weren't, the foal was breached. Forts appeared at the stall door. "Is she okay?" I didn't want to answer. "Is there any sign of the vet? ... I think we are going to need him." Will stepped forward, his hands on his hips, "Why? Those are the front legs." "No! They are not, you fucking idiot. Those are its rear legs, the foal is breached. It needs a vet now." Forts was by my side in an instant. Will backed away as Forts lovingly stroked Daphnes flank. "Can you help her?" Tears were rolling down his cheeks. "We will do everything we can Forts, I promise." I tore off my shirt, sending buttons flying through the air. "I have to try to turn the foal. I need a bucket of hot water and soap, lots of soap!" "I'll get it." It was Jeremy, who had just arrived at the stall. He vanished as quickly as he had appeared. I glanced at Robin, "How long has she been like this?" "I didn't know... I'm so sorry." Forts moved over to him and put his arm round him. "It's okay, just tell Archie." Forts closed his eyes and breathed into Daphnes nose, mumbling softly to her. A big black head pressed its nose in beside them, Forts slipped his other arm up round Pegasus' neck. "She will be okay, boy." Another tear rolled down his cheeks. With his words interrupted with gasps for breath, Robin explained that Daphne had started becoming restless a few hours ago, then that water had poured from her back end about ten minutes ago. "I'm sorry, I didn't know what to look for, no one told me." "Forts! Forts!" It was Davy's voice. He was obviously running, "Forts, the vet is here!" Davy appeared at the stall door with Dougal. I felt relief wash over me. "Dougal, I think the foal in breeched." I blurted out. His smile vanished, and he rushed to join me at the business end of Daphne. "You're right, those look like its rear legs. It looks like I am here just in time, thank goodness! I decided to stop into see how she was doing. Why didn't anyone call me?" He began to pull off his shirt. "Water and soap!" Jeremy staggered through the door, carrying a steaming bucket of soapy water and some towels. "Excellent, just what we need!" Dougal quickly soaped up his arm and was already pushing his hand up inside Daphne. "You're right, the foal is breached. Are you happy to help me?" I nodded. Dougal glanced round, "Why wasn't I called sooner?" Robin let out another sob, "I'm sorry. I didn't know what to look out for." "But I told Will. I was to be called as soon as she became restless..." Dougal's voice stopped as he glanced round at Will, who didn't answer. Forts embraced Robin tighter. Robin buried his face in Forts' chest as Forts tried to sound reassuring, "It's okay, she will be okay." Will started to back towards the stall door. Forts glared at him. "Don't sneak out, get out. I don't want to see your face! I will see you tomorrow!" Davy glanced at Forts, it slowly dawned on him why Forts was so angry and distressed. Will turned and left the stable. He stopped next to Jeremy, who just shook his head and turned away, mumbling, "How could you?" * Dougal exhaled. "Right, Archie and I are going to need some space. Can the rest of you wait outside, please? With the exception of you two." He nodded to Forts and Robin. "You both try to keep her steady and calm." There was a snort from the large black head leaning over the stall wall. Dougal chuckled, "Okay, you three." ** Davy takes up the story Athol put his arm round my shoulders, we were standing with Jeremy and Duke by the stable door to Daphne's stall. The harsh overhead electric light cast eerie shadows into the corners. Forts was now sitting in the straw, Daphne's head resting across his lap. The poor thing's legs had given out and exhausted, she had collapsed to the straw. Robin was kneeling, stroking her nose and just repeating he was sorry over and over. Pegasus was in the neighbouring stall, his head and neck stretched over the stall divider, gently nudging Forts' arm; even the mighty Pegasus wasn't big enough to reach Daphne. Forts clapped his neck and whispered something to him I couldn't make out. Archie and Dougal, the vet, were in the process of helping the prone Daphne deliver her foal. It had been a tense thirty minutes as Dougal had struggled to turn the foal. This had involved easing the rear legs back inside her, and then turning the foal, all the time fighting against Daphne's contractions and her natural instinct to push. That was when poor Daphne had been unable to stand any longer, the poor thing was exhausted and getting obviously very distressed. I don't think it registered with Forts, but Athol had sighed when Dougal had mentioned a caesarean. Archie and he had dropped their voices as they spoke. Dougal was worried that in her exhausted state, Daphne might not survive the procedure. Forts glanced up at me, his face was tear stained, his body jerking as he sobbed. He turned back to Daphne and stoked and whispered to her. I wanted to go to him and hug him, but I knew I would just end up in the way. "Got you!" Dougal was lying on his side in the straw. He let out a cry of joy as he finally manoeuvred the foal's front feet into the delivery position. Things then started to happen quickly, first two jet black hooves appeared, visible, as the birthing sack already burst. Next came a little black nose. "Come on, girl, push him out!" Dougal uttered encouragingly. Dougal and Archie quickly attached a rope round the hooves and, matching Daphne's contractions, pulled when she pushed. More and more of the foal appeared. Dougal glanced at Archie, exclaiming, "Fuck, it's a big bugger... Come on, girl, one last push." Forts was talking to Daphne ten to the dozen, stroking and urging her to push through his tear-filled eyes. With a momentary lull in between her contractions, Dougal checked the foal, its tongue was hanging limply out of the side of its mouth. He turned to Archie, hissing quietly, "We have to get it out this time, I'm not sure it's breathing." Forts heard that, he gave another sob and hugged Daphne kissing her face. Robin stood, tears streaming down his face, "I'm so sorry... It's all my fault." With that, he bolted toward Duke, standing at the stable door with us. Duke lifted him out over the stall door and hugged him, stroking his head and trying desperately to assure him it really wasn't. I don't know why, but I glanced up at the darkening night sky. From the myriad of stars twinkling above us, seventeen seemed to twinkle especially brightly, I recognised them immediately. To a cry of "Yes!" I glanced back into the stall. A beautiful black foal was lying on the straw. Both Archie and Dougal, with handfuls of straw in their hands, were busy massaging the foal and cleaning off the remains of the birthing sac. All of us standing by the stable door were now watching, barely able to breathe, as we watched the drama unfold before us. Archie shook his head at Dougal. Dougal, still on his knees, scampered forward grabbing the foal's nose and began to blow into it and then rub the chest, "Oh no you bloody don't!" he was shouting at the lifeless body. "You're not going to give up now. You bloody aren't. I won't let you!" Dougal continued to work on the foal. Archie looked over at us, his eyes were filled with tears too, he shook his head. Fort's body slumped. "Let me in. I have to go to him!" Athol nodded as I opened the stall door and hurried to Forts, he was distraught, hugging and kissing Daphne, saying he was sorry. I had just got to him when there was a forceful sneeze and cough. I stopped in my tracks. Dougal sounded triumphant. "That's it. Blow it out, you little bugger. BREATHE!" Another snort and a cough. All eyes were on Dougal and a now moving little black foal. Forts didn't speak, he just looked at Dougal, who nodded, tears of joy streaming down his face now too. Barely intelligibly, he managed to say, "He's going to be okay! ... He's going to be okay... It's a little boy, you had better tell Mum and Dad." He sat back and smiled, exhaling, then wiped away his tears. I threw my arms round Forts as he sobbed to Daphne, "He's okay, your baby's okay." Her eyes never left Forts. Did she remember it was Forts who brought her into the world only two short years ago in Archie's stable? We both hugged and kissed her. The poor thing looked totally exhausted. With Archie continuing to monitor the foal, Dougal appeared next to Forts and me. "Can you let me check mum over?" Forts and I moved out of his way. Forts got another nudge from behind. Pegasus was not about to be left out. Forts, his eyes now so alive, and now filled with tears of joy also, turned and hugged him, "Time to get the cigars out, big fella! You have a son! You have a son." Pegasus, I am sure, nodded his bloody head and gave the side of the stall a hefty kick as he let out a loud whinny. I think it was the first time we had all breathed properly and laughed since we had arrived. Dougal gave Daphne a complete check over, whispering reassuringly to her as he did. Forts gently touched Dougal's back. "Dougal, is it okay if we look at the foal while you check Daphne over?" He nodded up at us, smiling. "Of course, mum is doing okay, just worn out. I am going to give her a couple of vitamin shots. Hopefully, she will be back up on her feet shortly, then we have to get the little one feeding." Forts put his arm round me and kissed my cheek. Boy, did he look a mess. "Oh Davy, I thought we had lost them both. I prayed to anyone who was listening, I can tell you." I nodded, "So did I... Did you notice the constellation which is right above us?" Forts shook his head. "Draco is right above us... I asked him to help..." I smiled and kissed Forts, "After this evening, I will always believe in him watching over us all." Forts nodded and smiled before hugging me back. "Spooky isn't... Thank you for being here." His voice trailed off as his emotions took him again. I just kissed his cheek and nodded, that was all that was needed. We knelt down beside a rather inquisitive looking little foal. He was now lying, his little legs curled under his body, his jet-black head tucked in at his side. Forts and I knelt down next to him. Forts leant forward, "Hello, little fella." The foal turned to face us, holding his head up proudly. He looked us both straight in the eye. Forts laughed, "He is his dad's son, that's for sure." I felt a surge of butterflies in my stomach. "Forts, look at that white flash on his forehead, what does it look like to you?" Forts stared at it intently and gave a nervous giggle. He looked at me, then stroked the now drying hair on the foals forehead. "It kinda looks like my family's dragon crest." I nodded, "That's exactly what it looks like." Forts gave an exaggerated gulp, "Even spookier!" He kissed my cheek. I hugged him back, "What are you going to call him?" Before Forts could answer, Athol spoke from behind us, "Before you decide, there is something I would like to show you. It's back in the main house, I didn't get a chance to show you last night or today because of all the frivolities." "What is it, dad?" "You will have to wait. You really both have to see it!" Forts and I nodded. Forts went back to doing that horsey thing with the foal. It looked like I had lost my man again as the two of them exchanged dreamy looks. "Forts, would it be okay for Robin and me to come in? So, he can see the foal?" It was Duke. Forts nodded enthusiastically, "Of course it is. In you both come." Robin approached us, his knuckles white as he gripped on to Duke's hand. Duke gave a nod and mouthed the words "Thank you," as Robin let go and got down beside Forts. Forts immediately put his arm round Robin and formally introduced the two of them. We all looked up as Forts smiling, asked Robin, "Will you look after him for me?" Robin spun round to look at Duke. Robin was shaking his head, he turned back to Forts. "I don't think I can... Look at all the problems I caused already..." his voice faded, "And what about Will?" Forts pulled Robin closer to him. "Firstly, I wouldn't ask you if I didn't think you would take extra special care of him and secondly, well, leave Will to me." Robin bit his lip. Forts hugged him again, "So is that a yes?" Robin nodded, smiling, he hugged Forts back and just managed to get the words "Thank you," out before another tear rolled down his cheek and he cuddled his face in to the foal. * Dougal was standing next to us once more. "Right, let's see if we can get Daphne up so the little fella can get his first drink." There was a loud thump on the wooden partition, followed by an impatient whinny. Forts chuckled, "I think someone wants to help, and meet his son." Dougal gave a little chuckle. Forts opened up Pegasus' stable door and treading ever so carefully, the great beast gently came into Daphne's stall. Pegasus slowly walked over to Daphne, a low rumble coming from deep within him. He stopped next to her and did that horsey nose blowing thing, and seemed to nod at the foal. Daphne shifted and got herself ready to stand. "Hang on, watch out everyone, looks like she is going to try to get up," Dougal managed to stammer out. Duke, Robin, and I quickly exited the stall. Daphne gave a couple of quick kicks of her legs and got herself into position to get up. She got to her feet slowly. Pegasus was watching her the whole time. So was Forts. Actually, well if I am honest, we all were, all of us willing her to stand up. As she stood, Forts clapped her on the neck and blew up her nose, saying, "Well done, well done." I think we all held our breath again as Pegasus slowly walked over to the foal. Gently he put his nose to its, and his body gave another low reassuring rumble. Then he gave it a little nudge of his nose, then another. The little fella, slowly, staggered to his feet. His legs looked way too long and spindly to support his body. He planted them wide and slowly raised his head to look at his dad. I was sure Pegasus looked every bit the proud dad, just like when your little boy takes his first steps. Daphne's nose appeared alongside them and she gave the foal a big lick, then like mums across the world, she began to give him a good cleanup. Each stroke of her tongue nudging him towards her teats. Athol put his arm round me again, "See, she knows just what to do." Seconds later, he had latched on to her teat, and with his little black tail spinning, he took his first drink. Dougal was beaming, he looked at Forts and Archie and smiled the broadest smile I have ever seen. The three of them formed a group hug, each laughing and sobbing in equal measure. They had done it, the little one and mum were safe and well. ** Archie takes up the story It had been a long day and night. Finally, Dougal was happy that Daphne and her foal were okay and suggested what she now needed was a bit of peace and quiet. Forts had agreed to leave Robin with them, but had stressed to the boy that if he was worried at all, no matter what the time to come and get him and to call Dougal. "So, what was it you wanted to show us, before we name the foal, dad?" Athol tapped his nose, "Follow me." He led Forts and Davy to our room. I poured us all a large scotch, I knew I needed it and suspected so did everyone else. While I handed round the drinks, Athol placed a covered painting frame on to the sideboard. "Have a look at this. You won't believe it. Archie and I found it in one of the Castle storerooms." With a flourish, Athol revealed a painting. Forts and Davy moved closer and peered at the two horses it showed. Forts exclaiming, "That one looks like Pegasus!" "Read the inscription plate." Athol said excitedly. Davy began to read, "His Lordship, the 1st Laird MacDonald, with his two favourite horses, Pegasus and his son, Ladon." "My God." Forts staggered backwards. Davy gasped, "My God," he peered closer at the painting, "Ladon even has the same white dragon mark on his forehead... But how?" His voice faded away as Forts and he exchanged amazed glances. Athol grinned, "Ladon, was an ancient Greek Dragon said to guard the golden apples in the garden of Hesperides. They are both your and my family's guardians." Forts gripped Davy, "Well, looks like his name is Ladon then." Davy nodded. ********************** Dear Friends of OPP, Thank you for all your emails regarding the story and how much you are enjoying it. I am really touched and so are Forts and Davy.
