The Premonition

School Daze

Chapter 8

From the Very Odd Mind of

Eric Murphey

After school was out I went and talked to Mr Mathews at the store and we went and explained to the other town council members what we found out. No one was pleased to hear the news. We were pleased others were around and building their communities back. But we sure didn't like the thought of how they were doing it. But it was decided that we wouldn't interfere with their community so long as it didn't have an affect on ours. We figured that if they want to live like idiots and feel because of the color of their skin they were better than others. As stupid as it is we decided that it is best to let them. Again so long as it didn't have an impact on our community. But if and when it did we would take action if its needed. We also decided that Matt and his boys not only would be welcomed with open arms. We hoped with all of our hearts that they would come to our community and see we are a good group of people with love in our hearts. We discussed it a good hour and it was decided that indeed Juan would go but also Sarah. We wanted to show we accepted everyone regardless. We also felt that Sarah was the person that could and would convince then to move with us. She is very smart and good at understanding people. I guess twenty years as a teacher you learn to deal with all kinds of people. That is if you are a good teacher and she most assuredly is. After the meeting I stopped at Mike and Sarah's house to gather my boys. Seeing as how its Friday they were all worked up and excited about the weekend. We had discussed having school 6 days but decided the children would be happy to do it. But we felt it might be too much. The boys wanted to stay with friends tonight. OK let me explain better. Eddie wanted to stay with Jerry. I of course said fine. Jim wanted to stay with Joseph. Jack wanted to stay with me. I tried to convince him to have fun with Jim and Joseph but he was adamant he wanted to stay home tonight with me. It gave me an idea and I smiled when I did. Sarah was more than happy I volunteered her on this mission of mercy? She had Mike go and get 3 chickens to fry up. She wasn't going to let any of them be hungry she said. After that Jack and I headed home dropping of Jim as we went.

When we got home I decided that tonight I was going to pamper my boy and show him how much he means to me. So when we walk through the door I run a bubble bath and put him in it. I lovingly wash every square inch of him and he enjoy it very much. He was hard the entire time. Tonight isn't about sex though. Its about love. Granted sex will come but first more. When I get him out I dry him and carry him to the living room and lay him on the couch and gently massage his body from head to toe. He is so relaxed he is like pudding on the couch.

"Daddy can we smoke some?" He asks.

I get the pipe and load it and we smoke a bowl. I let him pick a movie and he loves the Cars movies so we watch those. While he is watching the second one I get up and start supper for us. I make nothing fancy just things I know he will enjoy. Its kind of weird cooking for just the two of us and I of course make too much. Not that it will go to waste that's for sure.

After we eat we sit on the couch and I stretch him out after we smoke a bit more and I start to gently caress his entire body. I can tell all his nerves are feeling it and enjoying it very much. Maybe even as much as I am. Being able to freely touch him and enjoy his body is more than I had ever hoped for in our previous lives. Of course he loves it too. Otherwise we wouldn't do it. When we head to bed I make love to him twice. We find sleep very easily with full tummy's and a buzz its never too hard.

I wake up earlier than usual. I guess I slept so hard I didn't need as much. I guess who knows I'm not a sleep specialist. I just know I woke up early and feel pretty damn good.

I make some coffee and sit down to enjoy it. I'm thinking about Mathew and those four little guys over there. I tell you I am half tempted if he says no to just kidnap them and bring them. But that sadly or not is not my nature. Fucking racists I think and I start getting madder and madder. Mud people I mean really what the fuck. What are white people Snow people? I have never understood racism. People are pretty much assholes well used to be anyway. So there is all kinds of reasons to hate a person. But race sure isn't one of them in my mind. Got assholes in every race it seems. I just cant understand how someone thinks so lowly of themselves that they have to try to feel superior to someone else due to skin pigmentation.

Reverend Masterson and his group can just fuck off as far as I'm concerned. But I do worry with them being so close. Are they going to sneak over and try to steal our things? Or will they just stay in their own close minded world? I hope they do that and all become sterile. Fine with me if hatred dies out with them. I'm bitching in my head when my handsome young man walks into the kitchen naked as the day he was born. He climbs up on my lap and hugs me.

"Morning daddy."
"Morning Jacky." I say and nuzzle his neck which makes him giggle.

"Daddy can I go with you today to meet the new people?"
"They aren't new." I say to get his goat.

"You know what I mean. So please daddy can I go?"

"Why do you keep asking? Do you think I'm going to change my mind?"
He looks at me and says with all seriousness.

"Yes."
"Well, you can forget it. Its never going to happen. I wont dare risk putting you in harms way. We have no idea whats going on over there. Until we do you aren't going period."
There I have put my foot down completely.

"Fine." He says miffed.

"You be mad if you want. But I know you are mad and safe and that's the most important thing to me is your safety."

He isn't even looking at me and I know he rolled his eyes at this.

"Besides..…"
"If anything happened to me you would never forgive yourself. I'm not a baby you know."
"I never said you were. The point is.......You know what I'm not arguing with you about this anymore. You aren't going. Period end of story This discussion is over."
"Fine."
"Fine."

I'm mad. He's mad. We're mad.

"So what do you want for breakfast?"

"Can I have some bacon?"
I feel guilty not letting him go. But, I know I am right on this. So I agree.

"Sure some eggs and toast. An old timey breakfast?"
He grins.

"Can you make an omelet with the veggies like you do?"

"You know that does sound pretty good. I used to go to this diner forever ago...…"
I tell him all about this old place I used to go to it was an old train car they had redone. It was pretty fucking cool. Now hes not mad. I'm not mad. We're not mad. He is still disjointed in not being able to go. As I am in his behavior. But sometimes in life we have disappointment. If not then good stuff wouldn't be as special. Like he is to me. When we get done eating we wash up our dishes and get dressed. I take him up to Earl and Tina's house and drop him off for the day. I head and get Juan and get him loaded in the back seat. We go and then get Sarah who is also put int eh back seat behind me. Then we go get Mr Clay. The former green beret. Its better to be safe then sorry. Thats why we all have so much weaponry on us we weigh twenty pounds more. I myself have three guns on my person. One under my arm. One in the crevice of my back. The final on my leg hidden by my boot. I'm sure we are all carrying about the same. We head over to the other town and I pull up to the old gas station and I see 4 little heads pop up and look out the front window grinning ear to ear. I get out of the truck and am smiling back.

"Hey guys wheres Mathew?"
"He went out for a while. He will be back in a while. He had to check on something." The oldest one says.

"Did you bring chicken?" The Asian boy asks me.

"Yes we did."
"Cool. I love me some fried chicken. I cant wait until Mathew gets back so I can have some."
"Why do you have to wait?" Sara asks as she gets out.

"Cuz its only right." Is his reply.

"It is polite I agree. But would it be alright if you had just one piece to hold you over?"
"It would probably be alright. But I will wait just the same."
She smiles at him.

"I like your manners young man." She says and rubs the top of his head affectionately.

"Thank you ma'am."
"So I would guess you are 11 is that about right?"
"How did you know that?"
"Because I have been a teacher forever and I can guess pretty good."
Now I'm watching and Hell I thought he was like 7 or 8. Hes a little guy. But I guess Asians are built a little smaller.

"So whats your name?"
"Charlie."
"Charlie?"
"Yeah I'm part Vietnamese and my dad had a weird sense of humor."

I laugh at his remark. Sara is puzzled.

"The Army used to call the Viet Cong Charlie."

She grins when she gets it. Mr Clay is out of the truck and looking around everywhere.

"Rick you said Mathew has red hair right?"
"Yes sir."

"I see him over on that hill there. He is heading this way now."

I look and I sure as fuck don't see him. I see the hill.

"Ohhhh Kay."
Sara is of course talking to all the boys now. Before she is done she will know everything to know about them. Shes good at getting people to open up. I think shes really a CIA interrogator in disguise as a mild mannered Midwest teacher. Finally I see Mathew coming. After like five minutes. I helped Juan get out of the truck and in his chair while we waited for him to arrive. He walks up and smiles at me.

"Mr Martin good to see you back."
"Rick."

"Sure." He says and shakes my hand. I introduce him to everyone and we get out the food and things we brought. I even brought sodas. Because they probably hadn't had one in ages. I know its a huge treat for sure. We all walk into the store and he has a table set up in the far corner so we head there.

Sara and I get everything out and set up and Juan and Mr Clay are talking to the boys. I think its weird I'm not over there talking to them. They are boys after all. As attractive as they are I am waiting. Because I am almost positive that Mathew and these boys do things and I know that if I am patient I will probably be able to as well. If they want or I want. Just because someone is attractive doesn't mean I want to sleep with them. That and they may all just be loyal to Mathew. These are things you just don't know. But I do know these boys are loved. That much I'm positive of. His boys get the table set and I pull out the sodas to an amazed crowd of boys I tell you what. You would have thought I told them they hit the lotto before all this happened. I had them in a cooler so they would stay cold.

"Now boys don't think that in our town we have sodas galore. Its a very special treat that's a certainty. But we figured you boys hadn't had one in a good while so you deserved one."
"I don't know if I deserve it or not. But I'm sure gonna love it." Charlie says laughing. The other boys join in his laughter.

"You deserve it Charlie. Your a good boy." Mathew says and rubs the top of his head gently.

"Thank you Mathew." Charlie tells him.

I know right then and there. Charlie is his Jack. His love. The one he would do anything for. Yeah they love each other a lot. I can see it even if others don't. The other boys look at him with love but not this kind of look. I know this look. I get this look everyday, and I give that look back. To the rest of the world this would go unnoticed. But not to the trained boy lovers eye. Oh no I see what they have and its beautiful.

We all sit down and get our plates filled. Sarah made a true Sunday supper. from the fried chicken, biscuits, and mashed potatoes with gravy it was good eating. We all ate and gorged ourselves because with food this good you kind of have to I think.

When we get done eating. Sarah starts.

"These two are Benjamin and Denzel. They go by Den and Ben." She says introducing the two black boys. "They are 9 and 10 years old." Ben is the older and Den is the younger. Both extremely cute boys for sure.

"You have all met Charlie of course and hes 11. And this guy here is Alvin." She says putting her hand on the east Indian boys shoulder.

"Alvin?" I ask.

"Are you expecting Apu? Would you be liking a Slurpee with that sir?" He says in a thick fake Indian accent.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that. I was asking Alvin because its not a common name."
"Oh I'm sorry. I am just used to these stupid jerks around here. How they used to be. I'm a little defensive. Everyone thinks I'm Indian but my family came from Bangladesh.
"Well that stupid of them. If anything they should think your Pakistani. Because if I remember right it was part of Pakistan until 1971. But also my young friend it was part of India at one time until 1947. So it depends on what time you were in. If it was 1945 you would be Indian. If it was 1955 Pakistani. After 71 then Bangladeshi. Is it Bangladeshi?" I ask him.

He just smiles at me.

"My Rick I didn't know you knew so much history. You should be teaching it."
"No I'm good. We have a good history teacher."
"Yeah me." She says.

"I know its perfect."
She laughs and slaps my arm.

"Mathew told us you were the principal so whats school like?" Ben asks.

"Its like it used to be mostly. One big difference though is that everyone wants to be there. Like before you HAD to go to school. We make it a lot of fun for everyone. We teach and we learn. We all share what we have. Like in a few days a few of us are going to come over here and take everything from that old Dicks that we might be able to use. Especially the shoes and clothes. Those seem to be the hardest to find. But Juan here is hopefully going to be able to remedy that situation. He is going to teach children how to make shoes from leather. So we wont have Jordons or anything like that. But we will have good shoes to protect your feet."
"Where do you get the leather?" Mathew asks.

"I make some of it. Some of it other farmers make and are bringing it to us."

"Thats really interesting. I would like to learn how to do that." Mathew says intrigued.

"It wont be hard if you move over there. We talked and the farm next to mine is open. Mike went through it yesterday said that its in really good shape. Says its loaded with nice comfortable furniture."
"Yeah he said if they don't come hes stealing the recliner." Sara says laughing.

"Shit he told me he already got it and hid it in the barn." I tell her.

"It wouldn't surprise me." She giggles.

"So let me tell you about our little community. First and foremost we are an accepting community. We don't care what a person is its who a person is that matters to us. We help each other as much as we can so long as it doesn't take away from our own families needs. We just started the school a little while back. We provide a meal for the children and we send some extras home as well. Around the school is a bit of a farm so we can provide them with nice meals. We have cows, chickens, pigs, a huge garden. The children all help to take care of it too. The main reason is so they know how at home. But it also helps us to feed them as well. Our community knows that to survive is a lot of hard work and we aren't afraid of it. We use what we have and if we don't have it we make it. If we cant make it then we just don't have it. We help everyone in the community. So long as they help themselves. But if they cant then we do for them. We try to treat everyone as we want to be treated. We only have a few laws. No stealing, and no murdering unless someone is stealing. I think that's about it. Any questions?"
"So black people is OK there?" Den asks.

"Of course they are. One of the black boys named Khalid stayed at my house the other day with my boys. We don't care about what you are its who you are."

"Mathew it will be nice to not be scared anymore." Alvin tells him.

"You know Mathew if you don't like it you can leave at any time. No one will stop you if that's what you want." Mr Clay tells him.

"You have a point there." He nods.

"I will even make sure we find you a nice car so if you want you can drive out." I tell him.

"If we decide to go we cant go today."
"Why not?" I ask.

"You ain't got room in your truck for everyone."
"Honey if that's all your worried about I will ride in the back." Sara says to him.

"Me too." Mr Clay agrees.

"Shit if it means you guys coming and being safe I will ride in the back and you can drive."

Mathew laughs.

"You guys really want us over there that bad?"

"Yes we do. I know I can speak for all of us here today that we want nothing but the best for these four boys and yourself. We want to welcome you into our community and know that you are as safe as can be in this day and age."
"What if I want to stay and you just take the boys?"
"I ain't going then. I'm staying right here with you." Charlie says quickly. Confirming my previous thoughts on the matter.

"Of course we would take them and take good care of them. But we would like to have you come along as well. As it seems Charlie does as well." Sara answers him.

"Why don't you want to go?" I ask him.

"I do I was just curious what your answer would be."
"Then what the hell are we waiting for. We got to get up solar panels on that house so you can have power and heat. If need be you can stay at my house tonight with me and my boys if we don't have time to get it all done and ready.
" I look outside. "Shit its nearly noon now. We got to drive back and get the guys together. Sara can you get the ladies and get some food set up for them. Mr Clay when we get back grab Mike and Mark Mathews and meet me at their farm. Juan can you spare any chickens now or not?"
"I can get them probably 8 or so."

"Good that's enough to get eggs and still be able to hatch a few here and there." Now as I'm saying this I'm packing everything up in the baskets we brought and everyone is just watching me.

"Well, don't just sit there. Lets get this going. We got lots of work to get done and not loads of sunlight to get it done in."

Everyone is still just sitting there. OK Juan is always just sitting but that's not his fault. He isn't rolling or moving.

"Come on guys lets get them back we got a lot to do." I say half pleading now.

"Um Rick."
"Yes Sara?"
"Mike and the guys are doing the solar now. They figured its a nice day and not cold so they figured if Mathew and his boys didn't move over then someone will eventually show up that needs a house. So they started a little after we left."
"Oh. Good to know. Now I guess we don't have to run around like chickens with their heads cut off then."
"Nope sure don't." She answers.

"But we still need to get supplies and things for them."
"No Lupe and Tina are getting that all set up too." She replies.

"So what are we supposed to do?"
"I guess just bring them back safe and sound."
"I think we can handle that then." I say and finish putting the things in the basket. I figured I already started may as well finish.

"So you guys ready to go then?" I ask everyone.

Mathew nods his head at the boys and they race off and start grabbing things they want to take. We get everything loaded in the truck. We decided to have Sara drive and the boys and Juan up front and us other guys in the back. What I know its not safe. But there is no other traffic and what I'm going to get a ticket or something?
So we head back to their new farm.

Did anyone else see Alejandro mde a donation? I love you guys I really do. That made me laugh and made my day.

I have to share part of an email that MADE my day yesterday. The man was telling me he enjoyed my stories which of course pleases me that I created something somone enjoys. But he said something that felt really good to me. He said. You have a very gentile style and convey a decency even in subjects that society deems indecent.

That made me feel pretty good. I appreciated it and let him know I did as well.

If you havent seen I have Posted Mr Jones Place. Nifty Im not sure if they made an error or not but has it listed as Mr Jones. I will see when I send in the new part of the story if they can change it or if another story has that name. One never knows there are loads of stories on Nifty. Anyway, the other writer hasnt gotten back to me if he wants to take over the story or not. So I will continue on. That is not the reason for the delay. The reason is I needed to think of names of the boys. See names speak to me. It in a way defines how a person acts and looks in my head when I am writing. So coming up with four new names took me a while because I think they will be inportant to the story. Im not sure yet. However I appreciate you guys and emails. I read another writers comment on emails. We dont like to post and hear crickets. I think of an email as a tip to the writer. Like in a resteraunt if you get good service you leave a tip. If you read a good story. Leave an email. ericmurphey1971@gmail.com
