The runaways Chapter 9

The runaways Chapter 9

Tanner could not help think about the two beautiful boys. He knew he had to
stop soon or he would end up hurting the boys. Chase was enjoying the bath

 Eric was the first to meet Tanner at the door. He jumped up into Tanners

"My leg is fine, Doc put this on. So you will have to ask him about it."
Eric stated as Tanner put his nephew onto the ground. Bryce was the next
one to greet his youngest brother. He gave him a hug.

"So nice to see you again." he said "So how is business going?"

"It is going well bought three more small stores and that larger store in
Wilton, along with a warehouse." I told him. "So what brought you two
here?"

"This guy hear." Bryce said as Dr. Richard walked up and shook Tanners
hand.

"Where are the two boys?" he asked as Bryce let go of his brother to let
the doctor shake his hand.

"They are in the living room watching TV." Tanner said. Once Eric heard
where they were he rushed off so he could meet the two boys Tanner had
brought home.

Eric stood in the doorway staring at the two boys who were sitting on the
couch. They were beautiful. He had never seen anyone who looked as good as
the boys sitting on the couch. Willy and Chase were also staring at the boy

The Doctor stayed with the three boys and had them get dressed. After the
boys were dressed somewhere in the house an alarm went off. Tanner quickly
rushed up the stairs with the hard drives in his hand. Handed Dr. Richards
one and took the other into his office and turn on the surveillance
system. Once again their were two police cars coming up the drive
way. Tanner had to think quick. He knew he did not have enough time to send

and hide him in Eric's bedroom. Eric knew just what to do.  Tanner went to
the front door and greeted the two police officers. This time It was the
other cop from Waterloo and a state trooper. Officer Nick Holms handed him
a search warrant but this time for the whole house. This time the Judge had
given the waterloo Police officer the ability to search each room in the
house and to seize any and all hard drives. Bryce pulled up Just as the
police were entering the house. Tanner was on his phone as the police made
their way to the basement. Eric slipped down the stairs and into the

Tanners office.  Tanners home surveillance system was independent from his

officer Holms and State trooper Joseph Buck search the house, Sargent David
Cocren pulled up into the yard. He took note of the cruiser numbers and

Tanner met David at the door and showed him the search warrant. While he
read through the warrant and then went to talk to both Officer Holms and
Trooper Buck. The warrant did give them permission to search the house but
only for electronic devices associated with the operation of the store in
Waterloo.

David had his suspicions that Tanner maybe hiding the two boys. David
started looking into CPS John Carter and things were starting to appear
abnormal. There had been many complaints filed in his county as well as a
few other counties against the protection officer. He also looked for any
complaints against the Grangers as foster parents. It looked like they had
only had one other child foster with them two years ago. The girl was moved
to another foster home after a few complaints by the girl. Their was a
investigation but nothing ever came about it and was closed and sealed by
CPS. David had thought about getting the county attorney involved, But he
needed more evidence. David went and talked to the other two officers,
Holms was sticking to the warrant but Trooper Buck was making it more
difficult then it needed to be. He was looking under beds in dresser
drawers and in closets. While Trooper Buck was doing his search Officer
Holms and Officer Cocren stepped to the side and had a little chat.

"Have you met this guy before?" David asked.

"Just once. He was recommended by CPS. I guess he has found other runaways
for them and the truth be told I don't like him." Nick said. There it was,
another connection to the CPS and the Grangers. David remembered seeing the
name of the troopers from another report.  Things were beginning to look a
little suspicious.

"I have never met him before today. But I don't like the way he is doing
this search. I have never known Tanner to hide anything from me or the
police before. This is just bothering me." David told Nick.

Nick seem to agree with Officer Cocren. He had been noticing some strange
things going on lately. He thought it was strange that every call from CPS
had been going through Officer Steve Brandon. The night the call came in
about the boys being spotted at Boyer's groceries. He was in the
neighborhood and decided to help investigate when the call came in. He had
seen two young boys coming out of one of the apartment buildings but
thought nothing of it. He was surprised at how rude Officer Brandon had

"Have you ever met Tanner? David asked Nick.

year from him when he was opening the new store about a shoplifter. He

really good guy. So how do you know him?" Nick asked David.

ever since." David was actually proud to be Tanners friend. He even was a
regular customer at Tanners store in Waterloo.  He had his reasons for

The two police officer heard a commotion coming from one of the
bedrooms. It was then they notice Trooper Buck was not in the room they
thought he was. When They walked into the master bedroom they saw the

"What the fuck is going on here?" Officer Holms questioned.

"He was making a move to the dresser and I saw a gun when he opened the
drawer." Relied Trooper Buck.

"What drawer?" Nick asked.  Trooper Buck pointed to the drawer. Nick walked
over to the drawer and opened it slowly. At first his instinct was to reach
for hisholstered gun. But then he noticed it was a pistol gripped hand held
35mm camera. He looked further into the drawer and found four more cameras,
all 35mm. He pulled the Camera out and showed it to the trooper. When
Trooper Buck saw the camera he released Tanner from the bed but did not
apologize for the mistake. But continued to search the room. This time not
caring if he made a mess or not. Once he finished that room he went to the
other rooms.

"I think that is enough." David said. "You have searched every room and
found nothing but his home computer and his laptop. I can make copies of
his hard drives in a matter of minutes, Mr. Boyer has made no attempt to
stop our search and all you are doing now, is making a mess."

Trooper Buck said "Officer Brandon was right about you. You don't care
about the safety of those two boys. Your probably just like him, a
pedophile. I have heard rumors about you and now I am beginning to
understand why Brandon doesn't trust you."

David's face must have turned three colors of red when he heard what the
trooper was telling him. Officer Holms had to step in before David did
anything he would regret later.  Officer Holms showed the trooper to the
door and told him he would get the hard drives. Nick went back inside and
found Tanner comforting Officer Cocren.
