Comments, positive or negative are always welcome. Mike always loved sports. He had played football, basketball and baseball in high school, back in indiana. He moved to California for school and stayed. He married Kelly out of college. She gave him 3 kids, the younger of which, Elian, was now 13. Elian played soccer all year round, which did not really please Mike at first, but hey, it was the kid's choice. Besides he was not built like a football player, or basketball player to be honest. Brown hair, green eyes, an athletic build, but on the small side. A perfect fit for soccer, really. And the boy was good. Composed, good game vision and skills. Mike enjoyed watching him play, even his practices, and he started to understand more about the subtleties of soccer. Elian had made the district team, which is a selection of the best players, among whom the state level players are picked. Elian had made friends with Christian, probably the best player. on their team. A mexican-born boy, dark hair, brown eyes, olive skin, with a build similar to Elian's. Christian played midfielder, and Elian often played behind him. The boys were going to the same school. They were in the same grade, and played for the school soccer team as well. Christian's parents worked a lot, and rarely made it to Christian's games. Mike had offered to give the boy rides. He liked him. Shy, polite, he moved with a juvenile grace that Mike enjoyed. Christian was often at their house on week-ends after games and on holidays. Christian has an older brother, Beto. Beto was 16, and was playing for the under 16 team in the same club as Christian. Beto was a larger version of Christian, quite a good-looking boy. Mike also gave him rides when it was convenient. Mike enjoyed Beto's company. Beto was a little less shy than his brother and that made for easier conversation. He even picked him up a few times when he needed a ride and Christian had gone to the field with Elian's Mom. If this seemed odd to Beto, he had not shown it. Mike often stayed and watched the game before taking the boy home. Beto was already in the state team and was just as good as Christian. Lately, another player had joined the team. Kevin was a forward, speedy and skilled, and, in Mike's opinion, he was a very meaningful addition to the roster. He could change a game on one play. Christian and him were connecting better and better on the field, and it led to many scoring opportunities. Kevin's family was affluent. Jim, the father, drove a Porsche Carrera and Lilly, the mother, an Audi Q5. Jim often stayed after he brought Kevin. Mike and him had made quick friends, and had long discussions during training sessions and even games. Lilly was more distant, but that was OK: the guys had plenty of time to talk. Jim asked many questions about Elian, who usually played alongside Kevin, and also about Christian. The latter was more surprising to Mike, but he realized that Jim must have seen that Mike was giving the boy rides. Jim was friendly to both boys, but it seemed a little more so to Christian. This seemed odd to Mike because Jim had told him his pretty extreme views on immigration, and in particular the immigration of our neighbors to the south. He had always a nice thing to say to Christian, be it about the game or other things. If Christian had been a woman, Mike would have willingly called it flirting. Mike was not one to judge, and Jim did not seem to be a monster, so he just went with it. Mike himself had been bisexual his whole life, though Kelly had no idea about this side of her husband's sexuality. The guys he had been with had been around his own age. However, thinking about it honestly, he could understand Jim's feelings towards Christian, in spite of the boy's age. Sometimes the wind would push the boy's jersey against his washboard stomach and even Mike was not unmoved by the sight. Not to mention his toned olive legs disappearing under the shorts. Several times, he had noticed Jim discretely eying the kid from the sidelines. He could tell. Moreover, he understood. He was pretty sure that Christian's parents would not be so understanding though. Mike observed Jim without being obvious. The more time passed, and the surer he was. Mike would not have admitted it, but the situation actually excited him, more so than Kelly ever had in a decade, or maybe more. He started to form images in his mind of Jim and the boy. He wondered how far Jim would go, if given the chance. How to ask him? haha. What if he was totally off-base? It seemed to him that, as time went by, Christan and Jim were getting closer. The boy seemed less shy around him, was more talkative. Jim also took notice of Beto when the two met. Sometimes, Mike himself had a hard time taking his eyes off of the boy. Beto was often dressed in soccer gear, long socks, training shirt and shorts, or tight black nike sweats. Mike had to admit that the sight was quite alluring. Jim was as nice to Beto as he was to Christian, though just a few weeks before he would have forcefully taken them both himself to the border. Jim was full of surprises.
