It felt so right and natural that I didn't even have to apply any influence to any of the people. They were all in close committed relationships. I was especially intrigued with Phillip and Richard as they so closely resembled one of my sons and his young partner. When the rings were produced and I heard that they could now get married, I was astonished at how times have apparently changed. It made me smile at the thought of being able to live that openly with someone you loves who doesn't happen to meet society's norms. I was a little concerned, however, because I sensed a slight uneasiness in the atmosphere. It reminded me of my mother's aura but nothing was ever palpable enough to really identify. Hopefully, this feeling won't cause any more mishaps. Geoffrey's spirit is also absent from its usual places. This makes me even more concerned as we could always sense each other no matter where we are. Many of the other spirits here have also expressed their concern about the changes in the feel of the spiritual energy of the house. It was always a pleasant place to roam but lately some portion have become too disturbing to remain for humans or ghosts. We'll have to wait and see. WESTBRIDGE SPIRIT: CHAPTER TEN (10) PHILLIP The house appeared calm and orderly except that wasn't exactly how things really were. Even though the disturbing dreams hadn't returned, something in the air felt stifling and heavy. There really wasn't time to worry about since Patrick's birthday was in a couple of days. Maybrook had made all the arrangements including a diversion to get him out of the house for the crew to set everything up. Richard and Frank had already picked out the presents for Patrick and were going to help me get him out of the house. The morning of his big day started with fresh cinnamon rolls and made-to-order omelets with hot chocolate. Patrick stuffed himself and kept hinting about how special today is and we all played it as if it was nothing special. Looking sad and dejected, we wrangled him into the limo as his eyes bugged out. Taking him to his favorite tourist location, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, since he was interested in horticulture, was the first stop of the day. We also paid a visit to the Museum of Art and Design to view the new Tiffany jewelry exhibit. Patrick was extremely interested in fashion and design (Surprise! Surprise!) so I decided it was a bonus for him. After a quick meal at a café, we drove home with him appearing to float on air. Arriving back at the manor, Frank did his best to keep Patrick from rushing blindly into the main dining room. He suggested a shower and maybe a quick "nap" before dinner. Using his seductive voice and flashing his eyes, Patrick grabbed his hand and almost dragged him upstairs so fast there was a breeze. Richard and I dashed into the kitchen to confer one last time with Maybrook about the preparations for the party. Guests began arriving shortly after Patrick was out of the way and we shuffled them into the room adjoining the dining room. At precisely 5 pm, Maybrook sent a young waiter to fetch Frank and Patrick for dinner. They were carefully directed to the main room. Upon entering, the guests yelled "Surprise!" and applauded. His eyes filled with tears and he began crying while Frank comforted him. It was apparent that he had not expected to be shown such love and affection. Once he regained his composure, Patrick became the star of the evening and relished the attention. Dinner was a fabulous event with a delicious menu and wonderful entertainment. There was dancing and music for a bit before the cake was brought into the room. It was a multi-layer confection of German chocolate cake with a delicate whipped cream frosting. After singing the requisite "Happy Birthday," sliced cake and hot beverages were served. Gifts had been collected on a table against the far wall and would be opened the next day for time considerations. After a couple more hours of partying, most of the guests bid their goodbyes and made their ways home. Leaving Maybrook to supervise the catering crew, the rest of us headed up to our beds and fell into a well-deserved sleep. Two days later, there was yet another grand event at Westbridge Manor, a New Year's Eve celebration. Many of the individuals who had attended the previous happening were there dressed in their best and partying in the fresh, promising new year. There was still a rippling undercurrent of uneasiness in the air but no abnormal experiences. The party was a smashing success and would certainly not be the last such event held at the manor. Just before the clock struck midnight, Quinn's spirit was smiling at the love in the room. The two young couples danced together and celebrated just like when he and Geoffrey were around. However, there was something not quite right about the general atmosphere of the house. Suddenly, a rippling black mist began to gather in the opposite corner of the room. None of the guests seemed to notice or be affected by it but Quinn was immediately aware of it. The mist had almost formed a figure until the clock struck midnight and the band started playing "Auld Lang Syne." At that moment, it simply melted away leaving Quinn concerned for those living in the manor. A definite change is the overall atmosphere could be sensed as everyone, human and spirit alike, shivered as though touched by a winter chill. Some would later recall hearing what sounded like malevolent laughter echo through the halls. THE HUDSON VALLEY PARANORMAL SOCIETY On January 2nd, the Hudson Valley Paranormal Society, led by Wallace Frankle, arrived to conduct a preliminary investigation. They had been requesting a visit for decades but until we had experienced the phenomena ourselves. I personally just wanted everything to be sorted out on way or another. Not trying to be overly skeptical, I was making every effort to maintain a willingness to o believe and objectivity. Mr. Frankle introduced his crew of himself, his assistant director, and four young doctoral students. The following is a brief run-down of their names and descriptions. 1) Wallace "Ace" Frankle -- Director and co-founder of the HVPS -- 50 year-old widowed psychology professor -- Father of a 15-year-old son, named Bradley -- Resident of Poughkeepsie, New York -- Rampant heterosexual, currently unattached 2) Neil Halverson -- Co-founder of the HVPS -- 45 year-old single, associate physics professor -- Resident of Williamsburg, Virginia -- Ambiguous sexual orientation 3) Jackson Rhebus -- 2nd year graduate student and electronics expert -- Doctoral student in electrical engineering -- 24 year-old single male from Seattle, Washington -- Unknowingly, a psychic medium -- Confirmed homosexual 4) Wendy Graves -- 1st year graduate student and audio specialist -- Doctoral student in human acoustics -- 23 year-old single female from Bangor, Maine -- Confirmed heterosexual 5) Kevin Oxton -- 2nd year graduate student and visual specialist -- Doctoral student in optical engineering -- 24 year-old involved male from Raleigh, North Carolina -- Confirmed homosexual in a four-year relationship 6) Zachary Evans -- 1st year graduate student and computer specialist -- Doctoral student in computer programming -- 23 year-old single male from New Orleans, Louisiana -- Confirmed heterosexual They came in without gadgetry to question each of us to ascertain where the bulk of the activity had occurred. After conducting thorough personal interviews with each of us separately, they laid out their investigation schedule and camera locations. We were advised to either remain in our rooms our to congregate in non-active areas of the manor. As a group, we elected to gather in the kitchen, which as yet had shown no abnormal atmosphere. Kevin and Zach were setting up the equipment in the library when they detected a severe drop in ambient temperature. Within minutes it fell from 86 degrees to below 75 in a matter of seconds. A thickening mist began to develop and overtake the room. Shortly thereafter, both young men began to feel faint and passed out in front of the fireplace. In minutes, they began to experience mental images created by external sources. PARANORMAL DREAM Kevin found himself kissing and caressing Zack's naked torso, which was greatly disturbing. He had a husband, James, waiting at home and had never been unfaithful. Zachary was naked before him and looking down, so was he. They stared at each other before locking lips passionately. Zach was confused by the feelings of sexual attraction to Kevin. He had never found men desirable and had a well-deserved reputation as a ladies' man. Finding himself naked and being kissed by Kevin, he rapidly found that his body was responding in an unfamiliar way. His manhood was rapidly growing as the feelings of arousal increased. Soon both men were fondling and groping each other's naked bodies. They eventually moved into a 69 position and began to suck one another with fierce enthusiasm. Devouring the dripping organs with gusto, both men were emitting loud moans of pure ecstasy. This continued until Zach began begging for more. Placing his body between the firm thighs, Kevin used his own spit to lube Zach's waiting hole. Pushing forward in one quick move, he entered him and was soon buried entirely in the stunned young man. Pulling out slowly, Kevin began long-dicking a squirming Zach as he uttered verbal encouragement and the occasional spanking. His forceful thrusts were being met by equally powerful counter-movements. The room filled with the noises of slapping flesh and screams of enjoyment. Faster and faster became the tempo until Zach shot his load all over both men's chests causing Kevin to release his own load into the eager ass. HUDSON VALLEY Purely by chance, Wendy and Ace happened to enter the room wondering what was taking the young men so much time. Finding them both unconscious on the floor, they removed them and began reviving the confused young men. Seeing the shock and shame on their faces, Ace questioned each of them and was utterly floored by the information they provided. Never had he encountered anything of this nature when conducting an investigation. Giving the men some recovery time, Ace entered the kitchen to give up an update. With some nervousness, I asked, "Are any of us in danger? Should we leave the house until you can determine what is happening?" Ace let out a deep sigh and said, "I don't believe so. It's unusual but so far nothing appears to be life-threatening." For the rest of the day, the crew went over the various hot spots with their equipment. They detected cold spots, electrical disturbances, odd physical sensations, and many other phenomena. Overnight, they sent up special night vision cameras as we slept. These images would be reviewed at a later time along with audio recordings taken throughout the day. The plan was to examine and organize the evidence before presenting the group's findings. We would then be shown anything they felt certain was unexplained or unnatural. A plan for future investigations could then be established. The group finished their work around 11am the following morning and packed up their gear to go. Promising to keep us informed of their progress, Ace estimated it would take at least 10 days for review since classes were starting in a couple of days. I told him we would probably be back in Chicago by that point but could arrange for any of them to come there. Thanking us for allowing them to visit. The group left in a small caravan of vehicles. PHILLIP Later that afternoon, we drove with Walter, Oliver, and my mom to the airport making them promise to phone once they arrived home. As we were heading back to the manor, Patrick's stomach rumbled and we all laughed at the growing young boy. Seeing a quaint roadside restaurant, we pulled in to grab a relaxing meal before returning to the manor. I stepped out first and invited the driver to join us, which he graciously accepted. The other went inside as we talked before locking up the limo. As I began to walk towards the entrance, a young boy, about 11 years-old, ran up and tried to grab the briefcase I was carrying. He only got a few feet away before slipping on the ice and hitting his head. Rushing to his side, I sent the driver, named Edgar, to call an ambulance. Staying with the boy, he opened his eyes and fear filled his face. Preventing him from getting up, I was holding a cloth to his forehead where he had a bleeding gash. "Calm down. You fell and hit your head." I calmly said. "My name is Phillip. What's yours?" "Kyle." he stammered. "Are you going to arrest me? I was just hungry and needed money." I assured him he was safe. "No. Where are your family?" Starting to cry, he whimpered, "Daddy died and Mommy is on a business trip. My brother and I were staying with a neighbor." At that point, the paramedics arrived to examine him. He was scared and held onto my hand fiercely. Since I wasn't his parent, the police were called to interview him. As he was scared and refused treatment without me there, I was allowed to stay with Kyle while the doctor examined and treated his wounds. He had no apparent concussion and, other than the forehead gash, only minor bruises. I talked to him and kept him calm during the examination. "Tell me more about your brother and you." I asked softly. He explained that after his dad died his mom became very sad and drank all the time. She left them with an elderly neighbor 4 days ago to go to a business meeting but hadn't come back. His brother, Campbell, was only 8 and scared because the neighbor was mean. They had run away after being punished for eating when they weren't allowed. His brother was staying in a wood shed behind the restaurant. I sent Richard to go find him while I stayed with Kyle. Kyle was a sweet, 11 year-old boy who seemed small for his age. He had big, round, blue eyes that shone whenever he smiled. His shaggy blond hair needed a good cutting but was clean. When Richard returned with Campbell, I was shocked by how cute he was as well. Campbell was very tiny for an 8 year-old boy. He also had big, blue eyes but his hair was very dark brown. His hand was firmly gripping Richard's hand and looking around in fear. I called him over so he could see that his big brother was okay. Putting him on the bed next to Kyle, Campbell relaxed and they held each other's hands. A social worker interviewed us and indicated that they had located the mother in a psych ward after a fight at a liquor store. She explained that the children were supposed to have been in the care of a relative but now they would be entered in the foster care system. Richard and I looked at each other and I offered to take custody of them. We were interviewed and, when they found out about Patrick, we became excellent candidates. I made sure to contact Alfred Grant, Marie's old attorney to represent us in court. I planned to stay at the hospital with Kyle while Richard took the others home for the night. Campbell made such a fuss about leaving his brother that he remained in the room with us. The social worker also let us know that, until we were appointed as guardians, the boys would stay in the hospital. They wanted me to leave as well until the boys began crying uncontrollably so I was allowed to stay to keep them calm. A small bed was put in the room for me and the boys slept curled up together in the hospital bed. I have to admit I didn't fall asleep until I could hear both boys making little sleeping groans and other noises. Richard got the rest of the group home and called me to let me know everyone was safe. I made sure he contacted Walter and Mom to bring them up to date about the new developments. Frank had to almost drag a worried Patrick upstairs to try and get some sleep. As it turned out, he had other motives for getting him alone. FRANK Patrick was so worried about Phillip and even the boys that he was practically buzzing with nerves. I left Richard in the library talking on the phone to Walter as I gently guided my lover up to our room. He needed a distraction and I had what I was sure would be a perfect one. Patrick is so adorable and caring, not like any other man I ever knew or dated. I can't explain what I am feeling except to call it love. It may sound silly because we've only known each other for a short time but I believe it is real. Once in our room, I took Patrick in my arms and kissed him long and passionately. He moaned and pressed his young body against mine. I could feel his erection rubbing on my thigh and it made me even harder and more excited, Never in my life have I ever felt this way about someone so much younger than myself. My greatest hope was that this wonderful boy cared for me in the same way. I would be crushed if he didn't love me like I do him. TO BE CONTINUED... I am sorry for what may seem like a lack of sex in this chapter. It was necessary to provide background for the arrival of the paranormal investigation group and their discoveries. Also, the negative aura may be causing some of the potential difficulties in upcoming episodes, so keep reading. It also made it easier to introduce Kyle and Campbell into the mix. I also want to say that I will be back to this story soon as I need to return to my other story for a little bit. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
