Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2022 16:58:19 -0600 From: Jake Andrews Subject: Miami Wave Swim Team - Part 1 As I opened the door of my house the humid air hit me, it was going to be a sweaty day. The humidity was so high you could cut the air with your hand. I got into my truck and headed to the pool. My name is Jake. I live in south florida in the suburbs of Miami. I am 26 years old and just graduated college with a BS in Sports Management. I am the swim coach for an all boys team that is based in the suburb I live in. We are called the Miami Waves, even though we technically are not in the city limits of Miami. I have swam competitively all my life to include my high school and college careers. I am 6'1 and about 165 pounds. I am lean and cut. I take care of my body by still swimming and working out several times a week. I am not married, mainly due to me wanting to get my career started before I settle down. Like I said earlier, I am the head coach for an all boys swim team. I have around 75 boys that are on the team with 3 assistant coaches. I have the teams divided up my grades. I coach the 7th - 12th grade boys. The assistant coaches have the ones from 1st grade up till the 6th grade. I have 30 boys from 7th - 12th grades. It is divided equally with 15 boys being 7th and 8th grade and the other 15 being 9th grade through the 12th grade. The pool that my team practiced and held meets in was top notch. It was built a few years back. I quess winning a few national and state meets helped in getting it built. The facility consisted of two pools that were identical. The pools were both indoors. This was great because it did not matter what the weather was outside we had practice. The facility had offices, restrooms for visitors, and a concession stand. The bleachers were built high up off the pool deck and there was no access to them from the pool deck itself. I liked this because it kept parents and people watching meets of the already crowded pool decks on days we had swim meets. The facility also had 4 locker rooms, 2 for guys and 2 for girls. My team used both boys' locker rooms. One locker room was for the younger boys and the other was for my group. The locker room has what every locker room has, toilets, sinks, and showers. The whole locker room had a light gray tile on the floor and walls. There were actually two sets of showers in the locker room. You had to walk through the first set to get to the second. The first set had 3 large metal posts going down the middle of the room and each post had 4 shower heads on them. This is where the boys rinsed off before getting in the pool and after practice to get the chlorine off their body. There were no stalls on these doors. The second set of showers had stalls doors on them. There were 6 stalls on both sides of the walls. There were several full time pool maintenance and custodian personnel that kept the pool and facility in pristine condition. My team practiced every day from 6pm to 8pm. It was 5pm and I was headed to the pool for practice and to meet one of my new members. I arrived at the pool around 5:15 and walked in. The younger group was practicing and would be finished at 5:45. The new member and his mom were waiting for me by my office. The boy's name was Nate. He and his family just moved here a few weeks ago. He had no swim team experience prior. He had tried out several days ago and made the team, even though we really do not turn anyone down. I told his mom that I had him and that she could come back close to 8 and pick him up. We shook hands and she made her way to her vehicle. Nate was 12 years old and going into the 7th grade so he was on my team. He had blue green eyes and straight blonde hair that was medium length. He was about 5'6" and weighed about 125 pounds. He had a nice tan. He and I chatted while I dropped my backpack off and grabbed my clipboard for practice. We provide everything to our boys when they join our swim team, from suits to towels, to water bottles, to even flip flops to wear on the pool deck and the locker room. The first set of swimming equipment we gave the boys was included in their initial joining fee. The boys could always buy more equipment or suits if they wanted to. We did provide two suits per year, a practice one and a meet one. Nate and I were headed to our supply closet. Our supply closet was tucked back down a long hallway past the mechanical rooms where the pumps were for the pools. I like it being back here because people did not mess with it. It was locked and the only people with keys were the coaches. Nate and I made it to the closet and I opened the door. We stepped in and I turned on the light. The closet was huge and very well organized. One wall had all the non-swimming stuff on it, like duffle bags, water bottles, warm up pants, hoodies, and flip flops. Another wall had our swimming stuff on it, like goggles, pull buoys, kick boards, fins, and stuff misc. Things. The very back wall had all of our suits and drag suits. The suit wall had every size we needed. The suits were organized from the smallest size to the largest size and were all in plastic bins with the size written on the outside of the box. We kept a good amount of suits in stock. On my clipboard was Nate's size for his warm ups and suits. We started at the warm up section. I tossed Nate a duffle bag that had our team name and logo on it. I also handed him several luggage tags and told him to put his first and last name on them with a permanent marker that I had also handed him. I grabbed warm up pants and a hoodie for him and told him to place them in the duffle bag. The next items were the swimming equipment. We dropped the duffle bag near the door and walked over to that wall. I grabbed a mesh bag to put all of this in. The mesh bag would keep all of his swim equipment in but also let the air dry. I handed him two pairs of goggles and two black silicone swim caps. The swim caps were mandatory for swim meets. I also gave Nate a small plastic case to keep his goggles from scratching up. I handed him fins for his shoe size, a pull buoy, a kick board, and a water bottle. Nate put all of these items in his mesh bag. Before moving to his suits we put the luggage tags on his duffle bag and his mesh bag. I looked at Nate's waist size on the form I had for him. His waist size was a 26. I pulled out the bin that was labeled for the 26 size. I pulled out a practice suit first and handed it to Nate. Our practice suits were brief style suits made by Speedo. They were a turquoise color with the team logo where the right butt cheek would be. The price tags were already taken off of the suits prior to them going in the bins. Our competition suits were the turquoise and black Speedo Fastskins. These suits were crazy expensive but luckily for us Speedo was a sponsor for us so we received large discounts. I found Nate his size and tossed it to him. We also kept drag suits in stock. The drag suits were there for the boys to put on while on the pool deck both at practice and meets. They were all black and had turquoise stripes running down each side of the hips. I tossed Nate his drag suit and told him that would be it. He put his suits in his duffle bag and we headed back towards the pool deck. Nate and I had made it to the pool deck. Several of the 7th graders on my team had made it already and were sitting in some chairs on the pool deck. We walked over and I introduced them to Nate. I told them they could go into the locker room and change for practice. The older grade guys started coming in and headed straight to the locker room to change. Nate and the younger boys came out of the locker room and walked over to me. I considered myself as a straight man but seeing boys in Speedo briefs, sometimes turned me on. All the boys were now on the pool deck. I had them sit down on the deck to discuss what the workout was going to be that day and introduced Nate to the team. They all went around and told Nate their name, what grade they were in, and what stroke they swam. After this, I divided the boys up into their lanes. Today I had the boys divided up into the stroke they swam and the speed they swam it in. I told all the boys to get in but Nate. On my whistle blow the boys were to start their warm up swim of a 500 meter freestyle. I blew the whistle and off the boys went. This was the first time I was able to take a good look at Nate in the brief. I asked him how it fit and he said it was the right size. I made him turn around just to get a good look and make sure it fit. Nate looked good in the suit with his tan body. Nate had a nice bubble butt on him for being 13 years old. The suit clinged to him and made a decent bulge in the front. Nate's penis was pointed to the right in the suit and I could tell that he was circumcised. The suit wrapped Nate's nuts up nice and tight. I was beginning to let my mind wander a little too far and had to snap out of it. I ended up placing Nate in the empty lane and had 2 of my good 7th grade swimmers move over with him. I told my good swimmers to show him how to properly do freestyle strokes and to start working on flipturns. I walked the length of the lanes during the rest of practice and helped the other swimmers with their techniques. Everytime I would go to the lane where Nate was at, the boys had him progressing really well. Nate was going to be a good swimmer by his first swim meet in 6 months. I blew the whistle to end practice. All the boys had worked hard today. I let them all know that I was proud of them for pushing themselves today. The boys headed off to the showers and to change back into their clothes. I stopped Nate and asked him how he enjoyed practice. He told me that he loved it and was going to give it 100% every time we had practice. I reached out and gave him a high five and told him "That's what I want to hear." With that I released him to go take a shower and change. As he walked off I reached down and smacked him on his wet butt. He looked back for a second, grinned, and kept walking. I had received many smacks on the butt when I was swimming in high school and in college. It was just part of the sport to me. It is basically telling the person receiving the smack that they did a good job. I smacked the butts of the other boys on my team all the time. They even smacked each other from time to time. The boys were starting to trickle out. The older boys were able to drive or catch a ride with the ones who drove. I had to sit with the few whose parents were late. Nate's mom was already there. I talked to her for a few minutes and told her that Nate looked promising as a swimmer and he was going to be ready for his first meet. The last kid got picked up as I was wrapping my conversation up with Nate's mom. I said good bye and told Nate that I would see him tomorrow at practice. I drove home and got into my house. I ate supper and took a shower. It had been a long day. I laid in bed thinking how good Nate's butt looked in his speedo. This was a weekly occurrence for me to think about a boy's butt or bulge in a speedo. I dozed off before I knew it.
