He sat up front with the driver. With the abundance of servants and slaves, while I suppose the assistant could have driven me over there himself. It was not his job but that of a driver. Under my questioning, because I thought it necessary to find out as much as possible now that I was a slave owner, I found out that his own area was looking after the slaves in the Master's fields. When I asked how much land was cultivated around Tariq's -- his Master's Palace -- he looked at me puzzled, but replied, `Master, enough to feed the Palace.' It obviously did not seem an intelligent question to him. It did not take us long to get to my new Palace, about twenty minutes or so. It too seemed to be set apart in the desert, but not surrounded by as high a wall as Tariq's about 12 feet or so with corresponding gates. Inside, these gates the most perfectly modelled house lay before me whitewashed in a lime green colour. Fields were to the sides of it, and some buildings seem to be towards the back, three marble steps led up to a porch where two mean in Arab dress were waiting for me. How they knew I was due to arrive I did not know. As I went up the steps, he bowed deeply in greeting and the older of the two introduced himself as the head of Master Abdou's household. The other was his assistant, I noticed that head of the household did not give his name. So I asked, `Aziz, Master,' was the reply. For the next hour, he walked me through the Palace. Upstairs some 30 ensuite bedrooms, downstairs lounges, sitting rooms, a study, a large gym, three -- what appeared to be - dining rooms, towards the back of the Palace a number of state of the art kitchens, sculleries, pantries, cold-rooms. Attached to the other side of the Palace a swimming pool surrounded by leisure buildings. The first of the outbuilding, Aziz merely indicated as garages and for storing machinery. As he made no attempt to go there, I did not press him. The second building was for the servants and could accommodate up to 25 servants. The third building was for the slaves, could accommodate up to 120 and consisted of some individual cells, communal cells, a shower area, some open areas. There was also a door leading what I though was out of the building, but in fact, into another annex onto the main building. It contained a number of small cells, which Aziz called hospital cells for slaves who had been injured at work or who needed treatment -- he did not say what -- and a room containing a number of apparatuses, whose purposes I could only guess at including an x shaped cross, two chairs with restraints, and a series of items which included collars, clips, whips, thongs, chains, and an item which I thought was for all the world like a huge dildo, the size of my forearm. The room suddenly felt cold, and as Aziz was not forthcoming with any information, other than say it was a re- training room, I did not feel like asking. I guessed that I would be able to find out soon enough. A further outbuilding was a small dairy, another a storeroom, it went on and on. The Aloe Palace seemed to have everything it needed as a self-sufficient property. Aziz then mentioned that the Palace in fact was the site of an old oasis which had been surrounded by aloe plants, hence it name and that there were two wells here which never ran dry. It was clear that a permanent source of clear water was of great importance to the Palace. Power was provided by two state of the art generators in the building which housed the garage. I got the impression that Aziz was not at home with modern technology. My conversation with Aziz revealed that he, as a slave, would follow his Master wherever but that the prospect of living in the city did not appeal to him describing it as a beautiful cage. I subsequently found out, when invited there for dinner one evening by Abdou al-Akhri, that the so-called `beautiful cage' occupied no less that two full city block. More importantly, it had its own head of household. I was surprised to hear Aziz refer to himself as a slave and pointed to his overseer's fly swish. `Yes, I am an overseer and wear clothes, but I am the Master's slave.' Without any shame or modesty, he pulled off his loose shirt and dropped his pants. On his left upper chest over his nipple, there was a SIN number tattooed and on his right buttock a brand which went in at least a half an inch. `It is the brand of the house of al-Akhri,' he said seeing me look at it closely, and he slipped on his clothes again. `So you would prefer to stay in the country rather than live in the city, Aziz?' `Does the hawk live in a cage, Master?' I thanked him for his patience in answering all my questions and for showing me my new Palace. The assistant had disappeared at some stage on Aziz's signal of dismal. `The Master is an Englishman?' `Yes,' I replied, and that seemed to explain something to him. He saw my frown of enquiry. `A Master does not thank a slave. A slave is there to please the Master' and he swished an imaginary fly from the air. On the way back to Tariq's palace, I asked to see the fly swish of Gus Jennings' assistant overseer. It had a beautiful ivory handle. I asked him what was the symbolism of it. He said, `The Master has one with a gold handle which never breaks. Each overseer has one with a black onyx handle which can be broken in any number of ways. Each assistant overseer has one with a white ivory handle, which can be broken with a single blow.' I returned him his symbol of power and his teeth flashed white. His explanation, I thought to myself was logical, in its own way. A sudden thought struck me to speak with Gus when I reached the palace. Food and Drink were dancing attendance. I told them to get my luggage ready and they appeared downcast to see me depart. I had one of them run off to get the overseer. I also told me of some ideas that I had for the six new slaves and asked how much time he needed each day for their training. He thought for a moment and said, `A minimum of eight hours for training and a minimum of eight hours for sleep. The training is consistent and intensive at times. They need that amount of sleep. So, you would have a further eight hours for other purposes.' I said that I wanted one given some basic training in massage, and he said that was not problem. He chose Vitali for that job as he had good hands and was so sensitive to human touch. I got the impression that my requests were akin to asking for a change of towels. One slave was to be given the basics for making up a gym training programme, and one to be trained in the kitchens on how to cook. He just nodded and made some notes in his notepad. I continued and said, `I also want them all given anal training on how to clench their sphincter muscles and how to relax them at will,' and I showed him a clenched fist and released the fist, and then clenching it again.' He did not blink an eye, and it showed that he had receive some strange requests in his time. He merely said, `That is quite simple. I shall include it in basic training. There is a cock massage program here which is quite good. Oh, I almost forgot to ask, when the vet is removing those moles and the sebaceous cysts do you want it done with or without anaesthetic?' Now it was his turn to surprise me. `With anaesthetic,' I replied. While personally I like to be in charge, being in charge does not implicitly being cruel. Again I thought to myself of these slaves a thoroughbred horses on a special training programme and on a special diet. With these slaves it was my immediate priority that they have the professional slave training which those more experience in that field could supply. I would have ample time to exert my authority and control over them, ensuring submission and hopefully at the end of the day loyalty to me as a Master. Gus looked at me and said with a smile, `While you may think, Master, that you can surprise me, I have been in this country a lot longer and am quite able to shock you a lot more. Everything you have ordered will be done and ready within thirty days.' I set off back to the capital and my temporary home at the Bank's Villa. To be continued...
