All events, characters and names indicia mentionned here are purely fictional and mythological and my own works. This is part thirteen of the First Book of A Memoriam Of Trees. Please, enjoy! July 31st 2009 Vallee-de-la-Rouge Quebec, Canada I was very tired when I was finally done with my chores. I had to mow all of the yard grass, and the yard was not the size of a pixie, either. Swearing under my breath, I took off my working suit, put them back on the support of the boathouse, and went to the adjacent bathroom to put my hands under a very cold stream of water. It felt like heaven after carrying that damn weed eater for hours. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked dirty to frighten even the farm children. I furiously washed what I could with more water. The results were not spectacular, but it was better than before, at least... I went up the stairs by passing in front of the empty fireplace. I needed a nap. I was just too damn exhausted. I opened my bedroom door, and closed it behind me. I was about to sit down on my bed to remove my clothes and enjoy the rest. The trouble was, a person was already sitting on it. I almost screamed with fright. It was Patrick. The regissor of the farm, and his face showed clearly that he was not happy at all. 'Pat-Patrick!' I faltered, then I bowed. He gave me a very cold smile. 'Your rest will be deferred until we have had the time to speak, Maxime. We need to have a very-- er -- private talk with only the two of us.' I gulped with difficulty. It did not bode anything good that Patrick was there in front of me, with no one to defend me, not even Catherine, who usually was a far less strict martriarch. 'My wife is not around, so you can forget about calling for help this time. I have you totally under my grasp.' Patrick then had another cold smile. Then, he took out a old piece of newspaper from his jacket pocket, and put it under my nose. 'Read this.' he spat 'Go on! Read it!' I took the old piece of paper and made it smooth with my thumb. It was dated on the day after the graduation ball. I began to read aloud: ''Scenes of supernatural powers at the 2008-2009 graduation ball. Every single month of June sees several of our young senior students graduate and begin their real career or their college years. Yet, there seems to have been several signs of magical -- or supernatural powers -- during the traditional ball which took place yesterday night, at the Local Town Hall. Several witnesses have run in panic into the police station saying they saw a young woman with a ragged pink dress run and cry, and then some stardust swirled all around her and transformed her into a completely different woman with the most beautiful dress ever seen in human history. She was accompanied by a young man who have been heard screaming an appeal while looking at sky. It made loads of passerbys stricken with panic and wonder. Other signs also have been witnessed in front of the Town Hall. Several other people have come in the Station to say there have been a crowd in front of the building waiting to enter, when some stardust fell from the sky and made them all but one disappear. The person who did not disappear was first seen with a bare head, no beard, and dressed with a modern smoking. But after the stardust effect, he was now having long hair, a well trimed beard, and his clothes have become one of a prince from the eighteenth century, along with the monocle and a sabre in a sheath hanging on his belt. Several other witnesses also happen to have been at the ball, and most of them said it has been a very strange night, where things seemed to entice one and all, and where an orchestra appeared, with a full transformation of the ball room from a nowadays modern art deco to one traditional eighteenth century ball room worthy of the most beautiful fairy tales. The room itself is still in that state, and several of the Town Hall staff members, even the mayor, are still completely clueless as how it happened. But the most clueless tale we have to report here is when three mothers came to the police station in tears with three ragged servant girls. The three girls claim they were at the ball, but at first, the police could not believe it, until the mothers eventually succeeded to convince them. It took several ways for the mothers, they say, to try to wash the poor young daughters and make them presentable, as they were stinking like excrements. However, everytime they seemed to have finally succeeded, the girls were back into what they were -- ragged servant girls. The police is beside itself with the whole situation. It seems the poor three young daughters will have to remain that way, until the -- ahem -- curse is lifted.'' I looked up at Patrick, flabberghasted. He had lit up a cigarette, and he put a hand in his jacket pocket again to pull out three other papers, his cigarette between his lips. 'Look!' he spat again. There were five pictures. All in colour! Even for a newspaper! First, the golden ball room. Second, beautiful Amethyst right after the transformation, and I was standing beside her, very much obvious. Third, a picture of Todd in his his new and hot looks. Fourth, the carriage with the four pegasus horses which brought us back home. Five, the three ragged servant girls -- or peasants --, Elizabeth and her two followers. Patrick put the papers back in his pocket, took several drags before finally saying: 'How did you do that? Be honest!' I did not answer. And Patrick frowned. 'Speak swiftly, or I'll fuck you hard in the ass! Don't think I won't!' Anger spread through me, and I decided to play cards on the table. 'I have been aided by Vinbieth!' Patrick did not answer, his stare was telling me to elaborate. 'I... I found a garden in the woods and I entered it...' Patrick slapped me in the face. He seemed beside himself with rage. 'You stole my Key!!!' He ran out of the bedroom and I heard him fumbler around in his own bedroom. When he was back, he seemed taken aback. He was holding the false key. 'How did you...' he faltered. He sat down on the bed again, lit another cigarette, and asked me for more by a cold stare. 'I entered the garden with... that key you have, and restored it. Then I got the visit of Vinbieth. He can grant any wish.' Patrick's face became contorsed with pure greed. He made a ''AAAAHHHH'' of pure desire. 'Say more!' he commanded. 'That's all.' I simply answered. Patrick got up, and stared through the window to the mountain. He seemed very excited. Then he turned to me. He seemed angry now. 'Why you? Why not me?!' I did not understand his question. 'I tried to enter that place, but a force field blocked my passing. Even I couldn't get over the wall by climbing! But now maybe I can...' He was taking drags like a madman now. He then fled out of the bedroom in a flash, leaving me alone. I stood there, uncertain of what would happen soon. Then I went down the stairs. Only two of the WOOFERS were in the kitchen making the dinner. 'Have you seen Patrick pass by?' I asked them. They both shook their heads. 'And Catherine?' Again, they shook their heads. I went outside, lit a well earned cigarette, and went to search for Todd. But after a search of half an hour's time, he was still not to be found. Desperate, I went to the field, and decided to take refuge from Patrick's anger in the shed standing near the border of the field. Lying down on the hard ground, I was thinking a lot, while deers, bears and foxes passed in the fields on their own business. 'Maxime, you are there?' It was Todd voice. A red point was telling he had a cigarette in his mouth while he went in the dark shed. 'Yes, Todd.' 'They missed you at dinner. They all wonder where are Patrick and Catherine as well.' I got up, nervous. 'They still are nowhere to be seen?' Todd took my trembling hands. 'What is it, baby?' I told the whole thing to Todd. 'We have to stay here.' he said firmly. 'At least for now. I will make sure to talk with Catherine. No one will harm you, my love.' He kissed me with such insistance, that my penis became rock hard. All that night, we made love again, and again, until it hurt, and eventually, we fell alseep in each other's arms, while a red dawn was rising. To be continued... Saint-Nazaire France Europe
