Chapter 2 --- As Rebecca served breakfast, she smiled sweetly at our newest family member. "Try the French Toast, Dear. You'll love it." She directly, slapping two pieces of French Toast on Timothy's plate before he could say no. "Um, thanks," he answered. "So, after breakfast," Kenny interrupted, "How about we take that property tour I promised? "Yeah, that would be cool," Timothy answered, stabbing a piece of his breakfast. "We've got some things to finish at the office and you've got the ten o'clock meeting," I reminded Kenny. "Cancelled it." Kenny smiled at me. "I think we need a day off, don't you, Timothy?" "Cool!" Timothy responded. All I could was smile back. I had been begging Kenny to take a break since winning his latest case, which seemed to absorb all of his time, but he countered that `the job is never finished.' Now, with this new member of our little family, it seemed that Kenny was looking at his `time' a little differently. I was glad. We finished our breakfast, and Kenny led us on the same tour of the old mansion that I was given when I first arrived. Almost the very same speeches as we passed each piece of artwork. I chuckled to myself thinking how Kenny's `tour' almost seemed rehearsed. We finished the tour at the pool. As the bright sun glimmered across the water, the pool beckoned for us to just jump right in. "You like to swim?" Kenny asked. "Duh!" Timothy quipped. "Well, let's go then!" Kenny responded, moving toward the changing room of the pool house. "But..." Timothy hesitated. "But what?" I asked. "I don't have a suit." Kenny laughed. "Swim naked if you want. We do all the time!" I saw Timothy begin to blush. "Don't worry, Timothy. We've got plenty of suits in the changing room. You can try one on." I said, wrapping my arm around the boy and leading him to the changing room. "You girls going to take all day?" Kenny razed as he pulled up his swim trunks. "Who you calling a girl?" I asked, grabbing my dick and pointing it at him. Timothy just giggled. "You guys are weird." I couldn't help but take note of Timothy's interest in Kenny as he dressed. I brushed it off as teenage curiosity. We finished changing, and Timothy managed to find a red and blue pair of trunks that hugged his butt rather nicely. "Last one in the pool is a girl!" Kenny yelled out youthfully, as he ran from the changing room toward the pool. Not wanting to be perceived in the slightest as a girl, Timothy ran after him, leaving me behind. Of course, I was the last one in the pool. "Well that figures! `Mom' is always the last one in." Kenny quipped, before splashing water at Timothy and me. "Ha, ha, you're so witty," I snipped back, returning the water splashes. In no time, the three of us were horse playing in the pool as though all three of us were fourteen. It wasn't long before the inevitable happened. One pull of someone's suit led to another, and soon the contest was on to see who could strip each other the most. Even under the waving water, I managed to catch a glimpse of my nephew's pride, and smiled to myself. As Timothy's suit came off once again, Kenny swung it in the air, claiming "You don't get it back this time!" Then, he tossed it across the pool area toward the changing room. "Hey, that's cheating!" Timothy cried out. "Yeah, he does that sometimes," I said, yanking Kenny's short from him and tossing them almost as far as Timothy's. "See? Fair is fair." Timothy laughed at Kenny's shocked look. Then Kenny laughed too. The sun was beginning to cook my shoulders. "I'm getting out," I said, pulling myself up the side of the pool. "Not with these," Kenny said, yanking my shorts down my legs, and tossing them in the pile of wet suits that preceded it. "Fine. I won't get dressed. I don't care!" I said, laying face down on a towel near the pool. Kenny came out next, walking naked across the concrete. "Mmmm, nice and warm." Then he laid his towel out and lay down next to me. Timothy stayed in the pool a minute or two, and as I looked over at him, I could tell he wasn't sure whether or not he wanted to parade around in nothing but his birthday suit. "You want me to toss your suit to you, Timothy?" I asked, trying to give the boy an out. Timothy looked at me for a moment, and then shook his head. "Naw, it's cool." Then he swam toward the steps, and walked out of the pool toward us. It was our first full view of the boy naked, and I looked over at Kenny who was fixed on him. Timothy's puberty had advanced him into manhood quite well, with a nice 6 inch dick, half hard from horse play, and a full bush of dark curls. As he lay his towel next to me and lay down, his perky round ass cheeks pointed to the sun. "It's so beautiful out here," he said. "Thank you," Kenny smiled, taking full credit, as though he built the property himself. After awhile, Kenny got up from his towel. "I'm hitting the shower." Not waiting for us, Kenny left us alone. Timothy watched Kenny leave, his eyes glued to my lover's tight behind as it disappeared into the changing room. "Uncle Russell..." He started. "How did you..." he paused. "How did you know?" "Know? Know what?" "You know...how'd you know you're...gay?" Timothy's hesitation was sweet, but his curiosity about it overpowered any desire to hide his question. "Well, I've known for a long time. Gosh, since before your age, I guess. I always knew I was a little different, but when I finally realized I was gay, it just...made sense, you know?" Timothy paused for a moment. "What if? Well, what if you didn't WANT to be gay? Do you have a choice?" His question caught me off guard. I wasn't sure why he was asking. Finally, I looked him directly in the eyes. "I don't think there IS a choice, Timothy. Some people think that gays just need to be `retrained,' but they can't. You're either gay or your not...it's that simple. Do you think you might be gay?" Timothy looked shocked that I asked. Then, his face changed. "I...I don't know. I don't want to be." Then he looked at me again. "I mean, hey, it's cool for you and Kenny and all, but for me...I mean, Geez, kissing another guy?" "Well, I know it was right for me. You just have to listen to your heart. You'll know what's right for you." "I guess so," Timothy sighed. "Here's how I look at it. It doesn't matter what gender the other person is. If you love them...really love them, and then you'll want to be with them, in every way." Timothy thought for a moment. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Kenny came from the changing room. "Your ass is getting red, Russell!" Timothy giggled. "Oh, you're just full of compliments, aren't you?" I winked at Timothy. As I got up, I placed my hand on Timothy's shoulder. "Kenny and I are here for you, Timothy, and you can talk to us about anything. Okay?" Timothy nodded and I walked toward the changing room. As I passed Kenny, I planted a big kiss directly to his warm lips. "I love you, too." Kenny smiled at me, and then smacked my naked butt, which only sent Timothy into a giggle fit again. It was clear to me that Kenny knew just how to make Timothy laugh, and I was glad for his talent, even if it was at my expense. Timothy was beginning to feel at home, and it was due in no small part to Kenny. --- The boy had made himself at home, and after a short three month period, had settled in; filling his summer days with swimming, tennis, and occasional horseback riding at Kenny's stables. Still, I was concerned that Timothy hadn't managed to make any real friends. I was looking forward to the beginning of school, because at least then he'd be exposed to more kids his own age. On one bright late-summer day, I decided to blow out of the office early. My plan was to pick up Timothy and go shopping for much needed `school clothes.' His wardrobe was less than flattering, and we couldn't send him to school in what he had. When I drove into the estate, my eyes immediately locked onto Timothy, who was standing in rather close proximity to a young man about his age, who was leaning on a shovel he'd been using. Now understand; a gardener is something that an estate of this size requires. It's a must, frankly, so it's no surprise that Kenny had a full landscaping staff working at the estate. Usually, I don't even notice them working. As late as Kenny and I work at the law office, by the time we arrive home again, the gardeners are done for the day. I've only really met the landscaping supervisor, and this young man my nephew was chatting with wasn't him. I stopped the car right next to them and hopped out. Before I could utter a word, Timothy smiled at me, both surprised to see me, and also happy to see me. "This is my uncle," he beamed as he almost skipped toward me. "Uncle Russell, this is Jacob." I stuck out my hand toward the young man. "Nice to meet you, Jacob." He was a nice looking boy, maybe fifteen or sixteen tops, with jet black hair and not a pimple anywhere. As I looked into his very dark eyes, I felt myself almost swimming in them. Although he was wearing one of those a-shirts that fully exposes your arms, it did little to hide his firm muscular chest. Jacob pulled the work glove from his hand, nervously shook mine, and then quickly replaced the glove. "Well, I really should get back to work..." "No, wait. Let me ask." Timothy turned to me. "Jacob has invited me to his house for dinner. Is it okay?" I hesitated for a moment, and then began to speak. "I don't think this is a good time..." Timothy interrupted me with a glare that was a mix of pleading and disappointment. Then, he looked at me as if to say, "Please...you're embarrassing me." "Well, I'd like to hear from Jacob's parents and make sure it's all right." I answered, causing Timothy to smile. "It's cool. I have friends over all the time." Jacob smiled at Timothy. "Why don't we go up to the house? You can call them from there." I said as I headed back to the car. Jacob hesitated for a moment, looking around for the supervisor. "It's okay. If your supervisor asks, I'll tell him I gave you permission." I said, smiling at him. "Thanks," Jacob answered. I showed Jacob to one the telephones, and returned to stand near Timothy. His eyes were locked onto Jacob. It was a stare that I was all too familiar with. "New friend?" I asked, nudging Timothy. Timothy's face began to blush. "I'm glad you're making friends, Timothy...that's awesome." Timothy stared at Jacob again. "Yeah," he sighed. "I've got my mom on the phone," Jacob said, handing the receiver to me. "Hello, this is Russell. Yes, I know the boys are looking forward to it. Well, I just wanted to make sure it was okay with you first. No, no, thank you. Okay, goodbye." I hung up the phone and gave Timothy a `thumbs up' sign. The boys gave each other a `high-five' and Jacob said he had to get back to work. "Come back up here after work, Jacob, and I'll drive you boys to your house, okay?" I said. "Okay. See you later, Tim." I looked at Timothy, and he subtly shook his head. After Jacob walked out and closed the door, I said, "Tim? I thought you didn't like being called Tim?" "Oh, Geez, Uncle Russell, don't make a big deal out of it." Timothy bounded up the stairs happily toward his room. I smiled at myself, but only for a moment, as I remembered the pool conversation. It was then that I convinced myself they were only friends. I wouldn't be able to convince myself of that for very long. --- As the end of August approached, Kenny and I became involved in a rather complex case involving a local tavern. Days became late afternoons; and late afternoons became late evenings. Each time I talked about it with Timothy, he assured me he was fine, and looked forward to the start of school. I knew in my heart that time from home was short-changing the boy, but Kenny relied on me as well. "What time is it? Hello? Are you even listening to me?" Kenny raised his voice. I looked up from the file my eyes were locked on, my mind clearly somewhere else. "What did you say? Oh, sorry, it's um, seven o'clock." "Jesus, Russell. You look like shit." "Thanks. I love you, too." I snipped, refocusing on the file. "I'm serious. You haven't slept well these last couple of nights, and your focus here has been less than desirable. What's up?" "Nothing, I'm fine. Just a lot on my mind, that's all. I'm focused, don't worry." I tried to seem sincere, but Kenny knew better. Kenny closed the door behind him. "Bullshit. What's on your mind, Russell?" My eyes met his, and I knew I couldn't lie to him. "Do you think I'm...well, a bad parent?" Kenny chuckled for a moment, before realizing I was serious. "Geez, where's this coming from?" "Come on, Kenny. Fuck, we're in here every day `til late at night. I practically never see the kid anymore. I promised my sister to look out for him and I don't think I'm doing a very good job." "Then go home!" Kenny said. I looked at him again. The thought crossed my mind for only a moment. "I can't. You're depending on me, and I know that." Kenny chuckled again. "You think I rely THAT much on you? Go on, get outta here. And slap the little hottie on the butt for me!" Kenny leaned down, kissed me on the head, and as I began to shake my head, he held my cheeks. "Go," he said softly. He didn't have to repeat himself. I quickly grabbed the keys to the Jaguar I'd driven to work, and raced out the building. I was home in what seemed like mere minutes, and as I raced up the stairs to Timothy's room, my heart pounded, as though it yearned to hug him. I threw open the door, without even knocking, fully expecting to surprise him. It was me who was surprised, as Timothy wasn't there. My heart stopped and for a moment I just froze. Had he run away? It's awful when your imagination runs away with you, and the ugliest and scariest thoughts enter in. My heart was jolted back into action again when I heard splashing in the pool. `Of course,' I thought to myself. `A late night swim.' I raced to Timothy's bedroom window and peered out. There he was, in the pool. But, he wasn't alone. I leaned closer to the screen in time to see Timothy embrace the other person passionately. But with Timothy facing me, I could only see the back of the other person's head. I wanted to jump out the window toward them, and just as I was about to call out, Timothy's lover broke the embrace and turned from him, swimming away. It was then that I saw his face. "Jacob!" I whispered. I actually heard myself whisper his name. As quickly as my surprise entered, it vanished. I found myself watching them, afraid to speak, unable to move, and all too curious to react. They continue to splash and play, then Jacob pulled himself from the pool. As he rose onto the concrete surrounding, the lights glistened across his wet body. He was naked from head to toe, and although he was facing away from me, my eyes scanned his body. His firm milky white ass cheeks had been well protected from the sun over the summer, but his upper body cast a dark contrast to them. Only a moment later, Timothy emerged from the water, naked as well. Jacob turned and met him, their lips locking once again. Seeing the naked lovers embraced make my dick tingle. Then, almost as quickly as they emerged from the water, they disappeared into the pool house. I stepped back from the window. I felt my heart racing. I tried to talk myself through it. `Teenage curiosity perhaps...nothing to get excited about. After all, Russell, you're gay. Is it really inconceivable that your nephew is too? No, he asked about not wanting to be gay. Yes, that was his exact words. What if you don't WANT to be gay?' It didn't matter. As much as I tried to counsel myself, I had to know. Call it parental inexperience. But he was my boy now, and I didn't want him getting hurt. I made my way down the stairs and out the side entrance. As I walked toward the pool house, my mind raced through the possibilities. I was quickly snapped out of my somewhat automatic motions, as I heard noises from inside the pool house; familiar noises...moaning, actually. Passionate moaning. I released the doorknob and backed away. I could rush in like some crazed parent on a rampage, but to what end. It was clear Timothy was in that pool voluntarily, and kissing Jacob voluntarily. No, I'd wait this one out! --- I knocked on Timothy's door after I heard him come in. "Can we talk for a minute?" "It's open." Timothy answered gleefully. "I didn't know you were home yet," Timothy said, as he tossed his towel over a chair. "Yeah, I came home early, hoping maybe we could catch some dinner together." Timothy's smile faded. He sat on the bed and looked up at me. "How...long have you been home?" "Long enough," I said, sitting next to him. Timothy's eyes locked on mine. There was a certain fear in them that I knew quite well. I refused to allow him to feel fearful of me. "Yes, I saw you and Jacob," I said, wrapping my arm around him. "It's okay, Timothy." I could feel the held breath escape his lungs. "We were just fooling around," he began to plead. "Timothy, relax, it's okay." I squeezed him tightly. "I don't care about the pool. Just tell me this, did he force you? I mean, did he hurt you?" Timothy snuggled up tighter to me. "I love you so much, Uncle Russell. You'd never let anyone hurt me, would you?" "No, I wouldn't." "No, he didn't hurt me and he didn't make me do anything I didn't want to do." Timothy said softly. Then, he raised his head. "Do you remember when I first swam in the pool?" "Yes." "I should've told you. I mean, I wanted to tell you, but I just couldn't. I didn't want to believe it myself. I mean, me! But, I had to be sure." "Timothy, slow down. Are you saying you're gay?" I held his chin so that our eyes met again. "I think I am." Then Timothy's smile faded. "I'm a horrible person, Uncle Russell." Timothy slid from my hug and began fussing with the wet towel. "Excuse me? How are you a horrible person? Being gay doesn't make you a horrible person." "But I am. I used to beat up fags in school. Hell, I kicked Tommy Spew's ass more than once, just for checking me out in the shower. I hated fags, and I hate this!" Timothy sat back on the bed, and dropped his face into his hands. "Now you listen to me, young man. I happen to think you're a pretty terrific kid! Okay, so you made some mistakes, we all do!" I pulled Timothy's chin upward again. "Do you like him?" Timothy smiled again. "Hell, yeah!" "Then follow your heart, Babe. It'll steer you the right way, okay?" Timothy hugged me tightly. "I love you so much." "I love you, too, Babe." I answered, rocking the boy gently. --- I hope you're enjoying my story of Russell, Kenny, and Timothy.
