Date: Mon, 23 May 2016 08:41:04 +0100 From: Adam Stewart Subject: Inspector Scott Inspector Scott By Adam Stewart 1. Robin was just falling asleep when he heard a noise. He listened carefully and could hear someone trying to open the front door of his one-bedroom flat. For a moment, he froze wondering what to do. He was a crime fiction writer so had used scenarios such as this in his stories but now it was actually happening his mind went blank. He got out of bed and listened again. Whoever it was had now opened the door so he had to act quickly. Did he go out and confront the intruder or hide? He decided to do the latter so grabbed a wooden baseball bat and hid behind the door. He'd never played baseball and didn't have the physique to do so, or any sports for that matter. He'd always been a small slim guy which had caused him to be bullied at school but somehow he'd managed to look after himself. The baseball bat had belonged to an ex-boyfriend who'd been a keen sportsman. Robin knew the relationship wouldn't last but it was good fun whilst it did. When it did end, the guy had left the bat at Robin's flat and never collected it so he just kept it; to start with as a keepsake but now for times like this although he'd never thought he would actually need it. He stood quietly behind the door trying not to breath too heavily despite his heart thumping like mad. Slowly the door opened further and a big bulk of a man appeared. He went straight over to the bed and stabbed what he thought was Robin's sleeping body, several times. Robin had in fact had the foresight to place two pillows beneath the duvet to make it look like him. He'd used this deception in one of his novels for a similar situation. Before the intruder realised he was stabbing soft pillows, Robin leapt forward and struck him over the head with the baseball bat. He was surprised at his strength of strike and the man immediately collapsed on the floor leaving the knife still plunged into the pillow. "Oh my god; I've killed him" Robin shrieked. Having watched several crime films, he knew not to touch anything so he grabbed his mobile and called 999. He quickly said what had happened and the operator said the police would be round immediately. When he'd finished the call he again looked at the man lying motionless on the floor. He then remembered he was stark naked since he always slept in the buff so he grabbed a pair of briefs and a dressing gown. Five minutes later, two police officers arrived quickly followed by two medics. Now in a state of panic, Robin pointed to the bedroom and the man on the floor. An officer told him to sit in the living room whilst they dealt with things. He sat down on the sofa and started shaking still sure that he'd killed a man. Kevin was just about to get ready for bed when his mobile rang. "What the fuck now" he yelled when he saw it was the police station where he was based. He'd recently been promoted to the position of Detective Inspector which at the age of twenty-nine was considered good going but he was good at his job and his Chief Inspector had recognised that so when Kevin's boss retired, he was promoted. He'd already had a busy day investigating a case in which five people had been murdered and the modus operandi seemed to be the same in each case. The victims, all of whom were either gay or lesbian, had been chatted up in gay bars and ended up taking the murderer back home for sex and been stabbed to death. "Okay, on my way" Kevin told the officer who'd called. Fortunately, the address was only a mile away from his flat in Stepney. He grabbed his ID card plus his car keys and made his way down to his car which was parked at the back of the block. "What have we got?" he asked the officer at the door. "Good evening sir; it looks as if an intruder attempted to stab the male occupant in bed but he'd heard him so put pillows in the bed and hid behind the door. When the intruder stabbed what he thought was the body, the occupant hit him over the head with a baseball bat." "Is the intruder alive?" "The medics are with him and they say he's breathing but will wake up with a headache." "Serves him right" Kevin smiled, "where's the occupant now?" "In the living room sir; he's in a bit of a state because he thinks he's killed the guy." Kevin quickly looked inside the bedroom and told the officer to treat it as an attempted murder scene and to call in the SOCO team so they could dust for fingerprints and gather the evidence. He noted the long knife still stuck through the duvet into the pillow. He then went into the living room and told the officer there to assist the other one but not to move the intruder unless the medics said it was imperative to do so. He looked over to where Robin was sitting and inwardly gasped. The guy was stunning and he half recognised him but couldn't remember why. "I'm Detective Inspector Scott" Kevin told Robin as he held up his ID card. Robin looked up and Kevin again inwardly gasped. Not only did the guy have beautiful light brown skin, which was as a result of his mother being Asian and his father white English, but he also had deep brown eyes which made Kevin's heart race. "God he's a stunner" he told himself. "Have I killed him?" Robin asked with tears in his eyes, "I didn't mean to; I just wanted to knock him out so I could call the police." Kevin quickly moved over to where Robin was sitting and sat beside him on the sofa. He held his hand and said "You've not killed anyone; the intruder's alive; okay he'll have a sore head when he comes round but that's his fault not yours." "Are you sure I haven't killed him?" "Not according to the medics who are still with him" Kevin smiled. "Now tell me your name and then what happened." "Robin Fuller; I was just falling asleep when I heard a noise. I heard someone doing something to the front door and then opening it. I froze for a moment but rather than confront him, I decided to hide so put two pillows in the bed to make it look as if I was sleeping. I picked up a baseball bat I have, not that I've played the game but it belonged to an ex-boyfriend of mine and he never collected it so I've kept it ever since. The guy entered the bedroom and went straight to the bed and immediately stabbed what he thought was me several times. Before he had time to realise it wasn't me, I struck him over the head with the baseball bat and he collapsed. I then called 999 and the police arrived about five minutes later." "Wow; that's a brilliant explanation; thanks. You should be a crime writer" Kevin smiled. "I am" Robin said with a deadpan face. "Of course; I thought I recognised you. I must have seen your photo on one of your e-books." "Possibly but I write under an assumed name." "You mentioned a boyfriend so is it safe to say you're gay?" Kevin asked hoping against hope he'd say he was. Robin looked at Kevin before answering. "Don't worry, I am too; the police do employ gays nowadays" he chuckled. Robin nodded. "Excuse me sir" one of the police officers interrupted "SOCO have taken all the photos they need and the medics have asked whether they can take the intruder to the hospital just to make sure he's okay". Robin said they could but one of the officers must accompany him and stay with the man at all times and he must be handcuffed. He had a nasty feeling that this might be the guy he'd been trying to catch for several months in connection with the five murders he'd been investigating. If so, the guy was dangerous. "Have I seriously injured him?" Robin asked with tears in his eyes. He'd never seriously injured anyone in his life and wasn't sure he could cope with the knowledge that he had. "Of course you haven't" Kevin replied and placed an arm round Robin. He didn't normally treat injured parties like this but this guy was making his mind, and his body for that matter, go all over the place. "The medics have to take precautions but from what they've told me the intruder only has a bump on the head." "He's coming round sir if you want to speak to him." Kevin told Robin to remain seated and that he'd be back shortly. He went into the bedroom and found the intruder now sitting in a chair. "Got more than you bargained for didn't you mate" Kevin grinned. "You're being arrested for attempted murder. Anything you say will be taken down and may be used in evidence. Do you understand?" "Fuck off" the intruder replied. "I take that to mean you do understand. Officer please make a note of the prisoner's response. Now, what's your name?" "Fuck off" the guy replied again. "Make a note of that reply too please officer. Okay take him away and keep guard on him at all times and keep the handcuffs on. Let me know please when he's fit enough to be moved to the police station." The two officers and the medics acknowledged Kevin's instruction and the intruder was removed from the premises. SOCO said they'd done all they needed and bagged up the evidence including the knife, the pillows he'd stabbed and the duvet cover. When they'd gone, Kevin returned to Robin. "He's now very much awake, been arrested and cautioned for attempted murder and taken away so you have nothing to worry about regarding him. We've also had to take your duvet and the two pillows he stabbed as evidence I'm afraid. Do you have any others you can use?" Robin looked at Kevin for a moment. Suddenly he burst into tears and collapsed on the sofa. Kevin rushed over to him and again took him into his arms. He hugged him and even kissed him on the cheek. Why the fuck he did that he had no idea but this guy was doing things to his brain and his body. He'd never felt like this about a guy before, and he'd had a few in his time but nobody serious. Robin remained in Kevin's arms for several minutes. He felt safe and wanted the comfort that Kevin gave him. "I'm sorry" Robin muttered, "I really thought I'd killed him". "It's okay Robin; you're in shock and to be honest I don't blame you. If it hadn't been for your quick thinking, you'd be dead and I'd be dealing with a murder enquiry. Do you have any idea why that guy should want to kill you; because there's no doubt that's what he was trying to do." Robin thought for a moment and then realised he'd recognised him when he was lying on the floor. "I think he was the guy who tried to chat me up at the gay bar I was in earlier this evening. I told him he wasn't my type so walked away. Surely that wouldn't make someone want to kill." "No, but I don't think he was interested in having sex with you; what he wanted to do was come back here with you so he could kill you but you upset his plan so my guess is that he followed you home and then made his way in when he thought you were asleep. You're the not the first gay or lesbian that's been attacked during the past few months; unfortunately, the others weren't so lucky as you." "Oh my god; I've read about that murderer and he's still on the loose" Robin gasped. "If I'm right, I reckon you've just helped us catch the bastard so thanks. I shall need you to come into the station as soon as you can and make a formal statement because attempted murder is serious and could help us put him at the scene of each of the other five murders." Robin said he was happy to do that having researched the procedures for several of his books. "I don't feel I can stay here tonight; the thought of what he tried to do would be too much, besides I don't have any more pillows or another duvet so will have to buy some more." He then asked how the guy had got in. "Easy for a guy like that; your door lock is easy to pick. It needs a deadlock" Kevin commented. Robin said he'd been on at the landlord for ages about better locks but nothing had been done much like the rest of the building. Kevin got up and spoke to the officer who was still keeping watch at the front door. He told him to call the emergency locksmith the police station used and get him to fit a deadlock. The police could pay for that in view of what Robin had done for them. If this guy was the killer they'd been looking for all these weeks, then it was the least they could do for him. "Do you have anyone you could stay with tonight; relations or friends?" Kevin asked as he looked at Robin and again felt yet another wave of carnal feelings rush over him. Robin said he didn't. His parents had kicked him out when he was eighteen having found out he was gay and he wasn't one to make close friends so he had nobody. Kevin thought for a moment and then made a decision that would change his life. "I could put you up at my place if you like and then tomorrow morning you can come into the station with me to make your statement." Kevin's flat was larger and much nicer than Robin's but only had one bedroom. "You can sleep in my room and I'll use the sofa" he said as he showed Robin in. "I couldn't possibly let you do that; I'll use the sofa." "No, it's not very comfortable; I'll use it" Kevin replied without thinking. "In that case you're definitely not using it" Robin chuckled, "why don't we share your bed". Kevin's mind went into overdrive. The thought of having this guy's body beside him caused erotic thoughts to shoot through his mind. "As long as you don't mind sleeping with a naked man because I don't own pyjamas" he laughed. "Nor do I" Robin grinned as he imagined a naked Kevin. "You do realise that if my boss found out I'd slept with someone associated with a crime case I'd get the chop." "In that case we must make sure he doesn't" Robin laughed. He was feeling much better now he was away from his flat and with a guy who cared about him. It was now three in the morning and Kevin was tired so he went along with Robin's suggestion and stripped off. Robin did the same and when both were naked they looked at each other for a moment. They climbed into bed and made sure there was a good space between them. "I really appreciate you letting me stay here; I couldn't have slept in my flat tonight; not sure I can ever again" Robin said and involuntarily placed a hand on Kevin's thigh. The feel of Robin's flesh on his, made Kevin gasp and his cock jump to attention. `Down boy' he told himself. 2. "I suggest you drop me round the corner from the police station" Robin said as they neared it, "then we won't be seen arriving together". "Good thinking" Kevin replied. It was something he should have thought of but the presence of this Adonis beside him stopped him from thinking straight. "I'm Detective Sergeant Hughes. My Inspector has asked me to take your formal statement, Mr Fuller; thanks for coming in, it's much appreciated." Robin smiled at the young Sergeant who was two years younger than him. When they were settled in an interview room which Robin noticed had CCTV cameras in each of the corners facing him, Bob Hughes asked him to go through exactly what had happened the previous night. He switched on the recording equipment and Robin repeated what he'd told Kevin at his flat. Kevin was in the viewing room watching Robin on screen. He again felt his body melt as the good looking guy spoke. Everything about him oozed sex, not that his heterosexual assistant would notice, which was probably just as well. When Robin had finished, Kevin entered the room and thanked Robin for coming in as if he hadn't seen him that morning. Bob spoke into the microphone to record the entrance of his boss as Kevin sat down opposite Robin. "I'd like you to look at these photographs Mr Fuller. Is this the man who broke into your flat last night and tried to knife you?" Robin looked at the three photos that showed different profiles of the same man and confirmed it was. "And have you seen that man before he broke into your flat?" Robin said he had and explained the same man had attempted to chat him up at the gay bar he'd been in earlier that evening. "Which bar was that?" Robin gave the name of the bar in Old Compton Street. Kevin thanked him and saw him out. "What have you decided to do about accommodation?" Kevin whispered once out in reception. "Fuck knows but the thought of staying in that flat horrifies me; I just know I could never sleep in that bed again but trying to find another place I can afford to rent is almost impossible. I know it's a dump but it was a roof over my head." Kevin wanted to take him into his arms and kiss him but knew he couldn't. "There's a coffee place up the road; I'll meet you there in about half an hour; I've got your number so if I'm delayed I'll call you." Robin nodded guessing that Kevin had something in mind. On his way back to his office, Kevin knocked on the Chief Inspector's door. "Sorry to bother you, sir but have you got a moment; it's a personal matter." The chief was always pleased to see the star member of his team so invited him to sit down. "I understand you may have apprehended our elusive murderer; congratulations Kevin." "Thank you, sir; it's about that I need to speak to you." Kevin explained how he'd been called to Robin's flat in the early hours of the morning and the state of shock he'd been in. "I'm not surprised" the chief interjected, "seeing a guy stab what he thought was your body several times over and knowing it was meant for you is enough to put anyone into a state of shock." "Exactly sir, which is why I asked Mr Fuller if he had family or friends he could stay with because he said he couldn't sleep in that bed." "Fully understandable" the chief added. "The problem is sir that Robin, Mr Fuller, is estranged from his parents because of his sexuality and doesn't have close friends who could take him in so I took him back to my flat knowing he was in a state of shock and needed support, plus it was nearly three in the morning by this time." The chief smiled. He knew Kevin was gay and didn't have a partner. He also knew that Kevin was a kind, considerate man who'd want to help another in need. "Had you taken his statement before you made that decision?" "Yes sir; it's recorded in my notebook and Robin, Mr Fuller, had already given a similar account of events to the officer first on the scene before I arrived." Kevin passed over the two notebooks and the chief read them noting they were indeed similar accounts. "And has Mr Fuller made an official statement yet?" the chief asked. Kevin said he had and that Sergeant Hughes had dealt with it without him present. "And does that statement tally with these?" "I've not listened to the tape yet. The problem is that Robin, Mr Fuller, says he can't stay in his flat and the chances of him quickly finding another place at a rent he can afford is remote." "So you want to invite him back to your place again?" the chief grinned. "Yes sir but I realise it could compromise our case against the guy we've charged with attempted murder." The chief paused and thought for a moment. "Am I right in saying that you and this Robin fellow are attracted to each other?" Kevin looked down at his hands which were resting on his lap. "Come on Kevin, you're like a son to me; I've known you since you first joined the force; I can tell when you've got the hots for someone, and you also know that I don't give a fuck what you do in your private life. All I'm interested in, is that you do your job well and professionally which is why you've raised this with me isn't it." Kevin nodded; as usual the chief had read his mind and was spot on. The chief smiled and picked up the phone. "Ask Hughes to come and see me immediately please." Two minutes later, Bob Hughes appeared surprised to see his boss with the chief. He immediately tried to think what he'd done wrong. The chief asked him what he thought of Mr Fuller's statement. "Very clear and concise sir but I understand he's a fiction writer so being erudite is not surprising. He also acted very bravely." The chief agreed and asked Bob to read the two notebooks still sitting on his desk. "Do those accounts tally with Mr Fuller's formal statement?" "Yes sir, very much sir, he's been consistent throughout." "Excellent, that's all sergeant and keep these two notebooks with the evidence. Do we have a name for this bastard yet?" "Yes sir; it seems he was arrested by another division two years ago for attempted murder but there was insufficient evidence to charge him so his fingerprints and DNA are on the central criminal database. They match perfectly with those of the guy arrested last night; his name is Sam Baker and he's fifty-two." "Excellent, thanks Sergeant, that's all." Bob Hughes left and when the door was firmly closed, the chief looked at Kevin and smiled. "All you've now got to do Kevin, is prove that this Sam Barker murdered our five victims. In the meantime, I don't see why you can't provide tender loving care to our friend Robin Fuller but I'd keep it between the three of us to save any problems. Can you do that?" "Yes sir and I know I can rely on Robin to do the same." "Do I get the feeling this is serious?" the chief grinned. Kevin nodded, "It could be". "Then I'm very happy for you Kevin; it's time you had someone special in your life. You put way over what's expected into your job. Will this Robin understand the pressures and irregular hours of a job like yours?" "I'm sure he will" Kevin grinned, "he's a writer of crime novels and bloody good; I've read some but hadn't made the connection until he told me because he writes under a pseudonym." The chief laughed and shook Kevin's hand. "Good luck son and thank Robin for me in whatever way you think fit" he added with a suggestive grin. On his way out, Kevin told Bob that he was off to the gay bar to collect their CCTV tapes for the previous night plus the dates of the other murders just in case Sam Baker had picked up his other victims at the same bar. "After that I'm going home to sleep; I hardly had any last night but call me if you need me urgently." Kevin collected his car from the car park at the back and called Robin to say he was on his way so to meet him outside the coffee shop. When he pulled up alongside the coffee shop, Robin was waiting. Just seeing his sexy lithe body standing there caused his own to jump through hoops. The chief was right; this was serious; very serious. On their way to Old Compton Street, Kevin outlined his offer, which was to invite Robin to move in with him and stay for as long as he wished. "Are you serious?" Robin exclaimed. Whilst drinking his coffee he'd imagined living with Kevin but had put it to the back of his mind like so many other imaginations he had, most of which ended up in his novels. "Yep; I've told my boss and he's okay about it provided we keep it between the three of us. If you agree to do that then you're welcome to shack up with me for as long as you want." He wanted to say he hoped it would be forever! Kevin collected the CCTV footage he required from the bar and they made their way back to his flat. On the way, they stopped off at Robin's so he could collect his belongings. As soon as he entered it he knew he could never live there again whatever happened so he cleared the place of all his personal belongings. Whilst he packed up his clothes, Kevin cleared the fridge and gathered ornaments from the living room. Robin said the only pictures he wanted to take were two male nudes from the bedroom. Kevin also liked them and knew exactly where they could be hung in the bedroom they'd be sharing. Having got everything, they carried it down to the car. As Robin locked the door behind him, he gave a sigh of relief, glad that he'd never see the place again. All he now had to do was write to the landlord, enclose the keys to the new lock courtesy of the police and serve a month's notice. It was worth paying the month's rent even though he wasn't living there but he'd give the landlord a piece of his mind about the appalling state of the building and the fact that the attempted murder was due to him being a lousy landlord and refusing to install a deadlock. When they were inside Kevin's flat, he paused for a moment before taking Robin into his arms "Welcome to your new home". He then gave him a kiss on the lips. Robin accepted it willingly and pressed his against Kevin's. It continued for several moments and both felt reactions down below. Kevin knew he'd found the guy he'd been seeking for so long to share his life with and he so hoped Robin felt the same way. They unpacked Robin's belongings and hung the two male nudes in the bedroom on the wall facing the bed so they could admire them each day as they lay in it. With everything away, neither felt the need to sleep despite their short night so Kevin made a pot of strong coffee and they settled down to look at the CCTV footage from the bar. "There he is" Robin pointed as the footage raced by. Kevin had used the fast forward to save having to watch every minute of it. He ran back to the point where Sam Baker was entering the bar and made a note of the time. They then changed over to the disc which recorded the footage taken in the bar and fast forwarded to that time. Sam Baker was seen entering the bar and buying a drink. He then casually looked round and after several minutes moved up to Robin. "Why the fuck did he choose me out of all those guys?" "He has taste if nothing else" Kevin chuckled and placed a hand on Robin's knee. He was itching to take the guy into his arms and kiss him again in the hope that things might progress further but he could see that Robin was intently watching Sam Baker chat him up. They watched Sam's face when Robin told him he wasn't his type and walked away. It was one of hate with a determined look as he watched Robin move to the other side of the bar. He casually looked at other guys nearby but made no contact. His eyes kept moving to where Robin was now standing. When he left, Sam Baker discreetly followed. They went back to the entrance footage and saw Robin leave soon to be followed by Sam Baker. "The fucker is following me" Robin exclaimed. "Were you aware of anyone following you?" Robin shook his head hardly believing this had happened. "He must have followed me to the station and then to where I lived." "Seems like it" Kevin replied and gently moved the hand, which was still resting on Robin's thigh. "Why the fuck me?" "Who knows but my guess is that he had no particular reason other than the fact you were gay and on your own. He doesn't strike me as being gay, does he you?" "No he doesn't so he's targeting gay men because of their sexuality which makes this a homophobic crime. You mentioned five other recent murders; were they all gay?" Kevin nodded. "Three gay men and two lesbians." Robin thought for a moment before asking whether the lesbians were murdered in their homes. Kevin said they were and in each case the woman had been alone. The three gay men were also alone but there was no sign of a break in at any of the murder scenes. "Assuming it's the same person" Robin pondered, "it looks as if he picks up guys and goes home with them to commit murder but he wouldn't be able to pick up a lesbian and go home with her. I reckon he's got an accomplice and that person is female. She probably chats up the lesbians and if she's lucky goes home with them. The question is whether she does the killing or is it him?" Robin picked up the DVD remote and replayed the footage at the entrance. He pointed out a woman who'd followed Sam Baker into the bar but didn't appear to be with him. They looked at the footage from inside the bar and saw her enter, buy her own drink and stand looking around. Every so often she looked at Sam Baker but made no move towards him. When he left, following Robin, she left too but once outside, she walked in another direction. "She doesn't look like a lesbian to me; I wouldn't mind betting that she's his accomplice" Robin commented. "You're an expert on lesbians are you?" Kevin chuckled. Robin laughed and slapped Kevin's hand which was still resting on his thigh. He'd noticed it land there and enjoyed the feel of it on his leg so certainly didn't object. He casually placed his on top and they both experienced a sense of sexual excitement which translated itself to between their legs. Kevin relooked at the footage and agreed with Robin's hypothesis. "I reckon you could be right; you're fucking good at this" he grinned. Robin smiled and turned to the guy sitting beside him. He now had a definite erection in his pants and if he wasn't mistaken, Kevin did too. They moved their heads towards each other and their lips met. The kiss became passionate and hands moved into each other's crotch to feel the bulge inside their trousers. Kevin decided to make the first move so unfastened Robin's jeans. Once open, he plunged a hand inside and took hold of the large thick organ. "Ah" Robin cried out having paused the kiss. "Beautiful" Kevin muttered as he continued squeezing the large organ. "I'm feeling I need to go to bed; how about you?" he grinned. Robin nodded so they switched off the footage they'd been looking at and Kevin led Robin to the bedroom. Once there, they undressed one another and held each other close again as they kissed and their hands explored their naked flesh. "Bathroom first" Robin grinned. He hated having sex unless he was smelling sweet. When he came back out, he wore nothing but a towel around his waist and a nervous smile. Robin then dropped the towel and exposed his erection. "God, you're so gorgeous" Kevin crooned at the sight of him and the promise of what his being naked meant; his cock pulsing with anticipation. Robin looked at Kevin who was now splayed on the bed with his thighs open and sporting an equally big organ. "I want you to fuck me" Kevin said and quickly moved onto his knees with his butt high in the air. Robin grabbed the items that Kevin had already placed on the bed and prepared his now rampant organ. He guided his large head up to the offered entrance, gripped Kevin's buttocks and slowly pressed in. Kevin uttered a brief groan as the head breached him and then relaxed as the rest of the thick shaft filled him up. Robin moved in and out slowly and deliberately for several moments before increasing the speed. "Fuck, that feels so beautiful Robin." A whispered curse and the sound of his name caused the build-up in Robin's balls to surge and his orgasm to roar through him like wildfire. He gripped Kevin's hips and thrust into him one final time as he filled the condom. The room spun, silent and loud at the same time, and he almost lost balance. When he'd come back down to earth, the physical connection ended and they settled down beside each other but now there was no space between them. They both knew they were meant to be together. 3. The next morning, Robin cooked breakfast as they'd not eaten much the previous day. They'd missed lunch and they'd only had a snack in the evening because they'd spent hours in bed having sex. Once they'd discovered each other they couldn't stop. "You need a full stomach to interview that bastard Sam Baker." Kevin nodded as he tucked into his fried egg and bacon with grilled tomatoes. He wasn't looking forward to the interview knowing how uncommunicative the guy had been so far but at least he now knew his name. "Good luck" Robin smiled and gave his new lover a kiss on the lips. When Kevin had gone, he typed his letter to the landlord giving notice on his flat and telling him what he thought of him as a landlord. Feeling a lot better after he'd got that off his chest, he set down to some writing for his next novel. He decided to somehow include the attempted murder on his own life to spice it up a bit. He still shivered at the thought of it but felt much better now he was no longer living there, plus of course, he had a new lover which was something he hadn't had for a long time. "Okay, let's see what we can get out of this bastard" Kevin told Bob once the custody sergeant had brought him from the cells. Once Bob had gone through the preliminaries of the taped interview he again asked Baker if he wanted legal representation. Baker shook his head. He'd never had faith in solicitors so never bothered with them. "For the benefit of the tape, the interviewee has shaken his head to indicate no" Bob said. "Are you quite sure because it's your right before we question you?" Kevin asked. He much preferred a solicitor present since it avoided arguments at a later stage." "No" Baker shouted. Kevin smiled; at least he'd got a reaction which was a start. "Okay; what is your name?" Kevin asked even though he guessed the reply. "Fuck off" Baker barked smugly. "Well Mr Fuck Off" Kevin replied "we happen to know that your name is Samuel Christopher Baker because you were arrested two years ago for attempted murder. That's right isn't it." "Was never charged though was I" Baker replied smugly whilst slightly put out that he'd been identified so soon. Kevin smiled. "This time you will be successfully prosecuted because you were caught in the act and arrested at the scene of the crime; plus, your fingerprints were on the knife and on the front door. So you agree your name is Samuel Baker otherwise known as Sam Baker." "If you say so." "I do say so because your fingerprints and DNA match the information on the criminal records computer because in addition to the attempted murder you've also been successfully prosecuted for an aggravated attack on a male." Baker shuffled in his seat and was feeling uncomfortable. "Are you gay?" "Don't make me laugh; of course not. Do I look like a poof?" "So why did you want to murder Mr Robin Fuller?" Baker shrugged his shoulders not wanting to admit why. "Was it because he was gay?" He again shrugged and added "How'd I know he was one of those?" "Because you were caught on CCTV entering a gay bar earlier that evening and again talking to him. He will testify in court that you tried to chat him up and when he turned you down you followed him which was again caught on CCTV." Baker shuffled again and said nothing having realised there was no way out of this but he didn't kill the guy even though he'd intended doing so. "I reckon you hate gays don't you?" Kevin asked leaning towards Baker "And you followed him home, broke into his flat in the early hours and planned to kill him but your victim was cleverer than you because he placed pillows in the bed to make it look as if he was asleep. When he saw you stab what you thought was his body and he realised the danger he was in he took retaliatory action to protect himself. That's right, isn't it?" "If you say so" Baker replied feeling angry that the poof had got one over him. Kevin showed him the footage and pointed out for the benefit of the tape each time Baker was seen. Baker said nothing. Kevin then asked a series of questions about where he was on the nights of the other five murders but Baker said he was at home. When asked if anyone could corroborate that he said he was on his own. "Who's your accomplice?" Kevin suddenly asked taking Baker by surprise. "What the fuck are you talking about?" he replied trying not to show his surprise at the question. "Because we believe you have one" Kevin replied without giving anything away. Baker just shrugged and said nothing. "Okay, let's leave it there for the time being but you need to know that I shall be asking the magistrate to refuse bail because of possible evidence we have concerning five murders so I suggest you ask for legal representation." Baker went white but said nothing. "What's this possible evidence?" Bob asked once Baker had been taken back to the cells awaiting his court hearing which fortunately wouldn't be held for several days due to the number of cases waiting to be heard. Kevin went through what he and Robin had seen on the CCTV footage although he didn't let on Robin had helped him. His private life was his and his alone although most people knew he was gay. "I want you to gather the footage from the main lesbian bars in Soho and the other gay bars for the evenings of each murder and from their nearest tube stations for the same dates. Also from Leicester Square tube station which is where Robin Fuller travelled from on the night of his attack plus the tube stations that the other five victims are likely to have used to go home on the night of their murders. Use some other officers to assist you because I need it as soon as possible." Bob gasped at the size of the task but when his boss said he needed something he knew he had to get to it. In the meantime, Kevin returned to his office and pulled out the footage they'd gathered from the blocks of apartments where three of the victims lived. The other two lived in flats where there was no CCTV. "Got you" Kevin exclaimed having seen Baker on the first tape he looked at which was from the block where the first murdered guy had lived. He was clearly arriving with the victim and leaving in a hurry fifteen minutes later. He was about to look at another when he was called to another incident. He withdrew the cassette from the machine and tossed it into his desk drawer with the other footage. The case he'd been called to was a stabbing and fortunately the young victim was still alive but a hunt was now under way for the attacker. He could never understand why young people these days had to carry knives and had said many a time they should be banned from the street. According to witnesses the two lads had argued about some insignificant matter and the attacker had pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the stomach. Luckily, a witness was a nurse so knew what to do so stemmed the flow of blood until the ambulance arrived. Several witnesses had a good description of the assailant so an immediate call was put out. Within half an hour he'd been apprehended and taken to the station for questioning but first Kevin had to go to the hospital to interview the victim if he was stable enough. The eighteen year-old was lying in bed and awake. "Is it okay if I talk to him?" Kevin asked the doctor in charge. The doctor nodded but told him not to be too long because the lad was weak. "Hi, Damian, I'm Detective Inspector Scott; are you up to talk for a few minutes and tell me what happened?" Damian nodded and smiled. Kevin's heart thumped because the lad had a beautiful smile and he was stunning; he also had beautiful blue eyes that sparkled like diamonds. It seemed the argument had been over another lad and the assailant had accused Damian of chatting him up. "Had you chatted him up?" Kevin smiled. "No; I knew the two were an item but he saw the other guy inviting me for a drink." Kevin nodded, not blaming the guy. If he was ten years younger he'd do the same because Damian was certainly drop-dead gorgeous. "What caused him to stab you?" "I told him what his boyfriend had said and he said I was lying so I told him to ask him. The next thing I knew he'd stuck a knife in me; I never knew he carried a knife." "I assume you want to press charges." "Too right I do; the guy's a maniac and not safe to be around." Kevin agreed and said he'd be in touch. Just then, Damian's father rushed in. Kevin could see where the young lad got his looks from. When he'd kissed his son and ascertained he was reasonably okay, Kevin introduced himself. "I hope you catch the maniac who did this to my son." "We already have and Damian has agreed to press charges; we also have several witnesses." "Good; I hope they put him inside and throw the key away. People shouldn't be allowed to carry knives." "I agree, sir but until our legislators change the law people like your son will continue to be victims and we the police have to pick up the pieces." He left father and son together and spoke to the nurse in charge. "Will he be okay?" "He was lucky that the knife didn't do any serious damage so he should be able to go home in a day or two but he's going to be sore for a lot longer." Kevin thanked her and made a note of the lad's full name and address. When he returned to the station he interviewed the assailant who was accompanied by the duty solicitor. Until he had formal statements from the witnesses and one from Damian, there was little he could do. "You are being charged with grievous bodily harm and carrying an offensive weapon." The lad looked at Kevin and then his solicitor not sure what to say knowing he'd fucked up. When the formal statements from each witness had been obtained, they all showed that the assailant had attacked without good reason so his solicitor advised him to plead guilty at his initial hearing. Kevin had the delightful task of visiting Damian and giving him the good news which meant he wouldn't have to give evidence. Damian almost kissed Kevin when he heard the news and thanked him profusely. Kevin was more than happy to stay longer than necessary and gaze into his beautiful blue eyes. Bob managed to collect most of the CCTV footage for Kevin and that evening he took it home so he and Robin could review it together. It wasn't strictly correct procedure but he knew Robin was good at spotting things that he might miss. When he arrived home, Robin was waiting for him which gave him a warm feeling. They kissed and hugged before even taking off his jacket and both felt their bodies react. "The meal is ready when you are" Robin said holding himself back from taking his lover straight to bed. He'd thought about him most of the day which did little to assist his writing but he'd managed to write something. "Mm, this is delicious" Kevin said when he'd taken a bite from the meat pie Robin had made. He'd not cooked when on his own. By the time he got home he never had the energy and he wasn't that good a cook so relied on pre-cooked meals but Robin enjoyed cooking so generally prepared things from the raw ingredients. He'd prepared a fresh fruit salad for dessert which Kevin also enjoyed. When they'd cleared away the dishes, Kevin said he'd brought home the CCTV footage so they settled down to go through some. They first looked at footage from the nearest tube station to where the first victim had lived and they saw Baker exiting the station with the victim and then returning alone twenty minutes later. The timings fitted perfectly with the estimated time of death. He kicked himself for not obtaining this footage earlier. "Were fingerprints found at the scene?" Robin asked. "A few smudged ones on the inside front door handle so I'll get those examined again to see if they match Baker's." "He doesn't seem to make much effort to hide his tracks, does he?" Robin chuckled. "The guy's a moron and I don't think he thought he'd ever be caught. He certainly hadn't reckoned on someone being cleverer than him like my lover" Kevin laughed. This caused Robin to kiss him and for a moment the footage was forgotten whilst they kissed and fumbled. "Back to work; I've got to gather sufficient evidence to persuade the magistrate to refuse bail." They turned to the second victim's case but where he'd lived didn't have CCTV so they looked at the footage from the nearest tube station. Yet again, Baker was seen exiting from the station with the victim and captured again twenty minutes later returning to the station alone. Finally, they looked at footage obtained from a lesbian bar in Soho. The quality was not as good so it was difficult to obtain a clear image of who was coming and going. "There" Robin said excitedly. "That woman walking in; she's the same woman seen in the bar on the night of my incident." Kevin replayed the footage and zoomed in. The image was certainly very similar. "And if I'm not mistaken" Robin said as the footage was being replayed, "that guy in the background is Baker. I guess he felt he'd look out of place inside a lesbian bar so hung around outside." Kevin again zoomed in and had to agree with Robin that it was Baker despite the fuzzy image but their technical boys would be able to clean it up and obtain a clearer picture. They looked at footage from inside the bar and low and behold the same woman was chatting up the first of the lesbians murdered. Later, the footage at the exit clearly showed her leaving with the victim. They turned to the footage at the likely tube station the victim would have used and this time could clearly see her and the woman walking together with Baker a few feet behind. Bob hadn't yet obtained the footage from the victim's home tube station or from where she'd lived but this was enough to make Kevin certain that they'd got the murderer and his accomplice. "I wonder who this woman is because Baker's not married and so far no girlfriend has come into the frame" Kevin commented. "Have you spoken to neighbours where he lives; they may have seen a woman visit him, and didn't you say he used to live in another area where he was arrested before; what about there; perhaps someone may have seen a woman with him." "You're fucking good at this" Kevin giggled "did you study criminology at university?" "Nope; I qualified as a psychologist but only practiced for two years having decided I much preferred writing." "Fuck; so am I being analysed?" Kevin grinned. "Only when you're naked in bed" Robin laughed. "Mm, I rather like the idea of that" Kevin chuckled so they made their way to bed. They first decided to shower together. Kevin felt grubby from a day's work and Robin liked to smell fresh before having sex. The cubicle could just about accommodate the pair of them, not that either minded being up close and personal to each other. When they were clean and dry, they walked naked to the bedroom. Both already had physical signs of being sexually aroused so it didn't take long for full erections to be exhibited. "I so love your big cock" Kevin said as he went down on it to give it a suck. Robin felt his whole body move onto another plane as Kevin teased inside his foreskin and licked across his slit. When Kevin stopped he said he wanted to feel it inside him so he lay on his back. Robin was happy to oblige because he loved fucking guys every bit as much as being fucked. Robin knelt across Kevin and they kissed. He looked into Kevin's eyes and smiled. "You've got nice eyes and I like your hairy chest; it's just right; not too hairy but very sexy." Kevin smiled; he'd never had previous lovers comment on his light covering of chest hair. It connected with a darker line down his abdomen that in turn connected with his pubes, which looked as if they'd been clipped but hadn't. He personally preferred his guys to be smooth chested like Robin but it took all sorts so both were happy. When Robin had prepared his organ, Kevin lifted his legs to make his arse available. Soon, Robin was deep inside him and both were enjoying what he was doing. Robin had been imagining doing this all day so went for it with gusto. The problem was that he was soon reaching his climax but the thrill it gave him was worth it even though it didn't last as long as he'd planned. When he'd filled the latex, he collapsed on top of Kevin's sexy body and they kissed. 4. "How's the investigation into these five murders going?" the chief asked Kevin the following morning. Kevin told him what evidence he'd found with Robin's assistance having decided he needed to be up front about what he'd been doing. "Can you trust him not to blab about this to anyone?" "Totally" Kevin replied, "He's a qualified psychologist so used to client confidentiality". He didn't add that Robin no longer practiced but he was certain that Robin would keep anything he knew about cases confidential even though he might weave it into ideas for his novels. "Do I take it you two are now an item?" the chief grinned. "Is it that obvious?" Kevin giggled. "It is to me but as I've already said, keep it between yourselves until this investigation is over." Kevin said he had no intention of announcing his love life to the rest of the team since he much preferred to keep that secret. "So you don't mind Robin helping me like this." "As long as it's kept unofficial and under wraps; I trust you Kevin so don't let me down. I want this bastard nailed for these five murders. The Commissioner is on at me to get a conviction." Kevin updated Bob on what he'd found on the CCTV footage and asked him to get hold of the remainder as soon as possible. He also asked the forensic guys to see if the fingerprints at the first victim's flat matched those of Sam Baker and the technical bods to improve the images they'd found on the footage from the lesbian bar. When Kevin got home after another busy day, he felt exhausted. Robin immediately rushed to greet him and they fell into each other's arms. Kevin mentioned that he'd spoken to the chief about Robin's involvement and that he was happy provided it was unofficial and kept under wraps. "That's fine by me Inspector Scott" Robin grinned, "I'm at your disposal whenever you desire" he added with a glint in his eye. "Too fucking right you are and as soon as we've finished eating the delicious meal you've prepared I shall be taking you to bed" Kevin laughed. Robin grinned; he was going to enjoy working with his lover. The forensic team confirmed that Sam Baker's fingerprints matched those found inside the first victim's flat despite them being smudged but there was sufficient to make an accurate match. Fingerprints found at other victims' premises also matched Baker's so with this and the CCTV footage from gay bars and tube stations, it provided firm evidence that Sam Baker was the murderer of all five victims. In addition, the knife wounds on the victims matched the knife he'd used in Robin's attempted murder. Kevin also now had sufficient evidence to persuade the magistrate to refuse bail. The duty solicitor who represented Baker even advised him to plead guilty since that would reduce his sentence but when asked by the magistrate "Do you plead guilty or not guilty to the five counts of murder and one of attempted murder?", Baker replied "Not guilty" which meant the case had to proceed to the criminal court. Everyone gasped knowing the evidence but Baker decided to trust his luck in front of a jury. It also meant that Robin had to relive the experience when he gave evidence which he was not pleased about. The mystery woman had still not been identified despite Bob having spoken to neighbours where Baker lived. He'd also spoken to those where Baker used to live but only one said she thought she remembered seeing a woman visit him but couldn't remember what she looked like and didn't recognise the images off the CCTV footage. "Why don't we wander round the area to see if we can spot her" Robin suggested one day. "It's a long shot but you never know." Kevin was desperate to find the woman and he knew he wasn't going to get any information from Baker so decided that perhaps Robin's idea might be worth it. So far it had been him who'd identified the mystery woman on the CCTV footage so perhaps their luck would be in if they spent a half day wandering round Baker's old hunting ground. Something told them that the woman hadn't moved with Baker and he'd only done so because of the previous arrests so wanted to move away from the area. The next day, after yet another night of wild sex, they drove to the area concerned. They decided to go late afternoon so they could visit local bars when people had finished work. Robin's mental image of the woman was that she did a menial job and was a drinker having watched her in the bars. The first three produced nothing, but at the fourth the barman recognised the images taken from the CCTV footage. "Yeah, she comes in on her way home from work fairly frequently; don't know her name though; she buys her drink and sits alone although a while back she used to come in with a bloke." Kevin and Robin looked at each other and nodded. Perhaps their luck was in so they bought two drinks and waited. "Here she is" Robin whispered a while later. Kevin looked up and watched a woman approach the bar. The barman served her drink but said nothing in accordance with Kevin's instructions. She turned and walked to the side of the bar. Kevin walked up to her whilst Robin covered the main entrance just in case she decided to run. "Good evening madam, are you a friend of Sam Baker?" The woman looked at Kevin and was clearly surprised to hear his name. "I might be; haven't seen him for a while; what's he been up to now?" Her unguarded response told Kevin all he needed to know. "You're under arrest" Kevin said and hastily showed his warrant card. "What the fuck for" she replied and started to move away but Kevin was too quick for her. Within seconds he held her wrists and handcuffed them. The drink she'd been holding, spilt and she cursed. Kevin took it from her and dumped it on a nearby table as he led her towards the entrance where Robin was standing. As agreed, as soon as he saw Kevin arrest her he contacted the local police to ask them to send a squad car to pick her up. By this time, the other drinkers were watching wondering what was going on. The squad car arrived within five minutes having been forewarned about a possible arrest. The woman was bundled inside and taken off to the police station. When she realised she could possibly be charged for murder along with Baker, she told Kevin everything. She and Baker hated gays "They're disgusting and should be exterminated" she said. She claimed that all she did was to chat up lesbians and get them to take her home with them. Baker followed and knifed them once inside their home. When Sam Baker heard his accomplice had been arrested, he changed his plea to guilty for the attempted murder charge but still maintained he had nothing to do with the five murders. Robin was pleased since it meant he'd not have to give evidence and go through the trauma of that terrible night again. When the case finally came to court, the jury found Sam Baker guilty of all five murders. The judge in his summing up, said it was a vile act and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The female accomplice was found guilty of aiding and abetting with intent to murder and was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment. Kevin gave a big sigh of relief when he heard the verdict that had taken several months of his working life to achieve. "The chief says I'm to thank you in whatever way I think fit" he giggled when he told Robin the outcome. "He's even given me a bottle of champagne to celebrate; any ideas?" he added with a salacious grin. "Plenty; I vote we spend a whole day drinking and having sex whilst watching porn." Kevin thought that a great idea so told the office that he was off duty at the weekend. After they'd showered on the Saturday morning, they remained naked, had breakfast and got down to their day of sex, drink and porn. Kevin owned a good selection of gay porn so they set the first one up and the large flat screen television came to life with two guys busy at it. "I love watching bareback porn" Kevin commented, feeling his cock go rock hard as he watched one guy's cock slowly disappearing inside the other guy's arse. "How about we do the same? We've both tested and know we're okay" Robin grinned. "Are you serious?" Kevin exclaimed; he'd always had protected sex despite enjoying watching it on film. Robin said he was very serious so they ditched the condoms and enjoyed each other's raw cock for the rest of the day. They popped the bottle of champagne and settled down to watch the porn whilst sipping their first glass. Soon they were all over each other and Kevin told Robin to kneel up on the sofa so he could fuck him. "Ah fuck; yeah; that feels so good having my raw cock inside your beautiful arse" Kevin groaned as he slowly pushed it through the gorgeous hole in front of him. "Feels fucking awesome" Robin groaned in response. The only rest periods they had from sex and drinking was when they ate and even then they continued to watch gay porn so still had erections flying. They lost count of the number of times they spewed their load of hot creamy cum inside each other but even when they finally decided it was time to stop that evening, they still had plenty more to shoot. "That was the most perfect thank you I've ever had" Robin laughed, "Tell the chief I enjoyed it immensely". Kevin laughed and wondered what the chief would say if he actually knew what they'd done, but knowing the chief he probably had a pretty good idea. Kevin was soon back into normal working mode investigating stabbings, domestic violence, and the odd murder. His hours were as erratic as ever and he was often out late into the early hours. Robin found it tiresome after a while. He understood that Kevin's line of work was far from being a nine to five job but it did seem he took the major brunt of unsociable hours. Apart from going out to do food shopping, he spent most of his days inside writing, or at least attempting to do so. "I feel I need to get out" he commented to Kevin one day, "would you mind if I went to a gay bar for a drink and to socialise with other guys?" Kevin was fully aware of the effect his unsocial hours would have on Robin so agreed, although secretly he hoped it would not affect their relationship which had moved on in leaps and bounds since they'd known each other. They enjoyed their sex and being with each other but seldom went out. When he was home, he was too tired to go out and on some days even too tired to have sex. On the Friday evening, Kevin was again going to be late home because of yet another call he had to deal with so Robin decided to go to Soho and visit the gay bar where he'd been chatted up by Sam Baker. He'd got over that episode now so had no problem in visiting it. He bought himself a drink and moved to one side to see who was around. "Hi" a young guy nearby said, "I'm Alec; what's your name?" Robin looked at the guy who appeared much younger than him and was very attractive so he moved closer. "Robin" he replied and offered his hand. Alec smiled and held the offered hand far longer than necessary. The mere touch of their flesh against one another caused both to have a stirring down below. Alec was a nineteen year-old who'd so far had a rough life. His father had gone off with another woman when he was ten years old. When he was seventeen he told his mother he was gay and she told him she never wanted to speak to him again. For almost a year he'd been homeless but eventually found a menial job so could afford a cheap bedsit in Whitechapel. Robin was moved when Alec told his sad story which increased the attraction he had for him. They agreed to meet the following week and then again the following Friday. This time Robin took Alec for a meal before going to the gay bar where they'd first met. For some reason, he'd not mentioned Alec to Kevin; he wasn't sure why but something told him not to do so. Whether he thought Kevin would be jealous or put out, he wasn't sure so he said nothing. On the third occasion they met, things took another step forward. Looking back, Robin realised it had happened without any planning on his part but he'd gone along with it. "Do you have to rush off home?" Alec asked after they'd consumed two drinks each. Robin had mentioned Kevin and the fact that he worked unsocial hours, and Alec sensed that his new friend was lonely as a result. "Not particularly" he replied knowing that Kevin had been called to a murder case and had said it would be the early hours of the morning before he got home. "Do you fancy coming back to my place?" Alec asked hopefully. He'd told Robin that he lived in Whitechapel which was only ten minutes away from where Robin now lived in Stepney. "Okay" Robin replied without really thinking what the consequences would be but what he did know was that he found the younger man very attractive and had dreamt of taking him to bed. They finished their drinks and took the Tube to Whitechapel. Thirty minutes later, they were walking into Alec's bedsit. Robin looked round and noticed that despite the rundown building, Alec's room was clean and tidy. Without thinking he slipped off his jacket and kicked off his shoes to join Alec on the bed which was the only place to put one's butt. Alec passed him a can of beer and they sat up in bed, chatting and drinking. When both cans had been emptied, they looked at each other. Alec pulled Robin close to him, their lips almost touching, his eyes were intent, his expression serious. Without a word, he slowly unbuttoned Robin's shirt, one torturous button at a time, and slid the blue fabric off his shoulders. He tossed it to the floor and admired Robin's smooth chest. He pressed his lips to Robin's nipples and then proceeded to kiss down his abdomen. "Fuck" Robin made a soft whimper that went straight to his cock. He was already on his way to hard, and now his balls throbbed with need. Alec put one hand to Robin's jaw and roughly drew him in for a kiss. Hard lips, soft tongue and the taste of him. He then pulled away, leaving Robin wanting and desperate. He was teasing him, proving he could own Robin's body any time he wanted. "Alec" Robin murmured. His eyes never leaving Alec as he slowly went to his knees. He then unfastened Robin's jeans, freeing his aching cock and took it into his mouth. Robin's fingers found purchase in Alec's hair and he moaned around the organ, the sound resonating through Robin's cock. He then took Robin in deep, working it over thoroughly before taking it down his throat; he swallowed around it, and Robin came. "Wow" Alec grinned when Robin had finally come down from his high, "that was quite something". Robin smiled and pulled Alec in for another kiss. Kevin was good at sucking cock but this guy was on another level. 5. Their next rendezvous was at Alec's bedsit, having not bothered going to the gay bar. They both knew they wanted each other and as much as they could get. Alec avoided mentioning Kevin and Robin did too. They operated as if Robin was a free man without the shackles of a boyfriend, not that he thought of Kevin in that way but he needed him there with him, not working absurd hours which seemed to be getting worse. Kevin often complained about the reductions in the police budget imposed by the Home Office which meant less staff and more working hours for the unlucky sods that remained. "Hi" Alec smiled when he opened the door to his bedsit. He'd never met a guy like Robin before and he wanted him as much as he could get. He pulled Robin inside by his shirt and kissed him so thoroughly that Robin couldn't think straight. They stumbled back until Alec's arse hit the bed and they both landed on it; their mouths never apart. Robin could feel Alec's erection pressing against him and he could feel his need, the urgency in his touch. Robin broke the kiss to breathe. Between Alec's scent, his kiss and the lack of oxygen, Robin's head was starting to spin. "Hi" Robin replied out of breath. His lips were plump and wet. His breath was sweet and warm and his cock was hot and hard. "Fuck, I've missed you" Robin laughed. "I've missed you too" Alec replied as Robin pulled their hips together, rubbing against Alec's hard-on. He moaned and bucked against him; he was so desperate. "How long have you got?" he asked as he slid his hand between them and undid his fly. "Couple of hours" Robin managed to reply. Alec reached inside his briefs and pulled out his cock. "Please, Robin. I'm about to come." He put his free hand on Robin's shoulder and urged him down. Robin moved down willingly and the second he took the slender cock into his mouth, Alec fisted Robin's hair and guided him. He was in complete control and Robin simply closed his eyes and opened his throat. When Alec had shot his load, he pulled Robin's clothes off him and hastily discarded his own. He took Robin's erection into his mouth and he felt his hair being fisted to elicit the same reaction from him. Alec took him deeper and swallowed around him, sucking the orgasm from him. Robin came down his throat, wave after wave of pleasure rolling through him. Robin's blood warmed in his veins, and his balls ached in the best possible way. Soon they were meeting twice a week and at weekends. Robin had to think up excuses as to where he was going. He'd seen a literary group advertised and knowing that Kevin would never want to attend or know any who did, he used that as the reason he was out yet again. He made some story that it was all boring stuff but as a writer he felt he needed to mix with other literati. At first, he felt guilty lying to Kevin but after a while it slipped off his tongue. He still loved Kevin and he knew that Kevin loved him but his fucking job was getting in the way of their relationship. He loved the time he had with Alec and with every touch, with every look and every kiss, he hoped like hell that Alec could feel every word he couldn't say. When they were naked and Alec was buried inside him, they made love. Soft moans and gentle strokes, deep kisses and holding hands, there was no doubt in Robin's mind even though he hadn't exactly told Alec how he felt, but it was in his eyes. When he moved inside of Robin, he'd look right into his eyes. He never looked away, and when he climaxed inside him, he saw it. "This man, this perfect-for-me man, loves me" Robin told himself. And from the look on Alec's face, maybe he saw the same in Robin's. So far, neither had used the `love' word and Robin wasn't sure what to do if it was used because he did genuinely love Kevin but this beautiful young man had stirred feelings inside him he never knew he had. The relationship continued for several months and Kevin began to suspect that something was going on. The guy he loved with all his heart was different. Not in a bad way but he seemed to have a lighter step and was happier than he'd been. The problem was that he wasn't convinced it was because of him, knowing the problems that his unsocial hours were having on Robin, and for him for that matter. He'd noticed that each time Robin came back from one of his so called literary meetings his face glowed and he was fairly sure it wasn't to do with meeting other writers. His training had taught him to notice and analyse small details and he suddenly realised he was doing it with Robin which worried him. "Are you happy with the way things are between us?" Kevin asked out of the blue one day. Robin stopped in his tracks not expecting that. "Um, yes" he replied hesitantly. "You're not really are you? I love you Robin; I love you very much and you're the best thing that has ever happened to me but I can sense things are not right between us, yet you seem happy; is there a reason for that?" Robin sighed and slumped down into the nearest chair. "I love you too Kevin you know that; I want to be with you forever." "But; there is a but isn't there?" Robin gently nodded his head up and down. "It's just" he started to say but couldn't find the right words which seemed stupid considering he was the writer. "It's my fucking job isn't it? I'm fully aware of the hours I'm not here with you and when I am I'm so fucking tired that I haven't got the energy to go out and socialise and our sex life is slowly disappearing." Robin nodded. "Yes" he whispered. "I fully understand it's your job and I knew what I was taking on when I accepted your offer to move in with you." "But it's pissing you off; and to be honest I don't blame you; it would me in your position and I'd not blame you if you'd found someone else." Robin looked up wondering if Kevin had cottoned on to what he'd been up to with Alec. "I'm finding it hard to cope with, so yes it is pissing me off." "And if I did something about it and changed my job so that I worked normal hours; would that rejuvenate our relationship?" Robin gasped and shot over to where Kevin was sitting. For several moments they just kissed and hugged each other and the bodily feelings that used to appear, suddenly did for both of them. "Could you? I thought the job demanded the absurd and totally unreasonable hours you do." "In my current job, yes, but I don't have to be in the front line; there are office bound jobs I could do." "I can't see you doing a nine to five office bound job; you'd go crazy" Robin laughed. "I'd go even more crazy if I lost you Robin; I love you so much that if I lost you then life wouldn't be worth living and that's the truth. You've turned my whole life around." Robin felt tears in his eyes; he so loved this guy and his relationship with Alec suddenly seemed insignificant. It was just the unsocial hours that made it hard. Kevin then said he too was getting fed up with the long unsocial hours and was seriously thinking of giving up the job. He even felt that if he continued the way things were then he'd be burnt out within the next year or so. "I'll have a chat with the chief to see what's available. I promise to do something if you'll stay with me, otherwise I might as well continue until the job drives me into the grave." Their lips locked together and they kissed before anything else was said. "Thank you" Robin said when the kiss ended. "How about we go to bed so I can show you how much I love you." Kevin grinned and lifted Robin off him before leading him by the hand into the bedroom. They made beautiful love and even though Robin loved having sex with Alec, he suddenly realised that this was different. "This is the perfect-for-me man" he thought to himself as he sank his long hard cock into Kevin's arse. What the hell he was going to tell Alec, was another thing but that could wait until the man he loved had sorted out his job. When Kevin spoke to his boss, he wasn't surprised. He was very conscious of the hours Kevin did and knew at some point in time he'd find them too much, especially now he had a man in his life. "You've come just at the right time Kevin. There's yet another reorganisation about to happen which will mean I'll be taking on additional responsibilities so that more senior posts can be chopped but I've told the Commissioner that to do so, I'll need an assistant and you'd be ideal but I wasn't sure whether you'd want to leave the front line." Kevin said he was interested and asked for more details. The job sounded perfect, would be a small leg up but would be office based and working normal office hours Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays, and he'd not be on call except for exceptional circumstances such as a terrorist attack or major incident. "It sounds perfect" Kevin said, "when do I start?" he grinned. It was Kevin's sense of humour that had always appealed to the chief. "You realise you'd be working closer with me; do you reckon you could cope with that?" "I've managed all these years" Kevin laughed, "so I expect I'll cope; the main thing is that I won't lose the man of my life." "That serious eh?" Kevin nodded. "I know he loves me but my long unsocial hours are killing him and it would kill me if he left." The chief nodded, fully understanding the situation. Strictly speaking the job had to be open for others to apply but he'd tell the Commissioner that he'd already found his man. When Kevin told Robin, he cried with joy and they ended up in bed leaving the meal he'd prepared until after they'd satisfied their needs and shown how much they loved one another. Kevin said the new posting would be confirmed in a month's time and once it had, he'd move into it. Robin meanwhile thought long and hard how he was going to let Alec down gently. Since his and Kevin's talk, he'd already cut back the number of times he went to see Alec so as to make the final break easier. Alec suspected something was happening so expected the worst whenever they met. When Kevin's new post was confirmed and he'd moved into it, Robin broke the news as gently as possible. "I'm really sorry Alec but Kevin is the man I've always loved." "It's okay, I knew it wouldn't last for ever but it's been great whilst it did. But there is one thing I'd like to ask; is there any chance we could remain friends and the three of us meet up at the bar or go out together? I promise I won't mention anything about our relationship or do anything that would jeopardise you and Kevin but you've been a good friend to me Robin and I'd like that to remain if possible." Robin pulled him into a kiss and said of course they could. He trusted Alec and knew he'd be the loser if he did do anything that jeopardised his love for Kevin. So with an amicable ending to the fling they'd enjoyed over the past few months, Robin made his way home having promised to arrange a meet up with him and Kevin. The meet up happened a few weeks later and Kevin loved Alec every bit as much as Robin did. He didn't ask how or where Alec and Robin had met, but he had a good idea. The main thing was that having changed his job and his hours, there was no longer a risk that he'd lose the man of his dreams. With Robin's help, Alec eventually obtained a better job which meant he could afford to rent a small one-bedroom flat. All he now had to do was find another man to love like Robin. Robin's writing also moved forward now he was happier in his personal life and using some of Kevin's past cases as plots, he was soon producing novels that were hitting the top of the list. It didn't take long after that for him to become a successful writer of crime novels, so Inspector Scott had been his saviour in more ways than one. ~~~~~ Comments are always welcome so feel free to email me.
