Date: Mon, 9 Jan 2023 05:58:50 +1100 From: max dowling Subject: Kasey with a k / chapter 48 Adam 48 Maxieplus He poked his head in at three, I said my farewells to the staff and walked towards the kindy with him. "Did you read much?" "Yes Adam lots, I also had a conference call from the school. They were just checking I was okay and how far everyone was up to with their study." "So they will check in from time to time?" "They will always be there discussing things but I haven't found the time yet, been a little busy, and they understand." He went to the ATM again and drew out some money, I noticed he was looking for some homeless folk but there were none on the streets today. "Will Trish be staying the night again Adam?" "I don't know baby, do you mind?" "No, of course not she's my friend too." "She will probably call in for dinner I must buy some chooks on the way home, I think her apartment is a little empty at the moment, it is a lot bigger than her old one. I will talk to her about getting a housemate." "That's a good idea, maybe she should get a young man to live with her." He smiled. "That would be awesome Kasey anyone in mind?' "Maybe." He laughed. We picked our son up and as usual, he was carried by his papa home, we stopped to buy a couple of chooks and I bought some chips for him as a snack. He wanted tomato sauce on them as he sat in his favourite spot while we had coffee. The place looked a lot better without all those papers hanging around I hope they aren't replaced by more. "So, tell me what have you got in mind for Trish?" "I overheard one of the clerks complaining he couldn't find a place to stay locally, and the daily travel is doing his head in. I looked him up on the computer, single, family live outside of Brisbane, good school results, and been enlisted for two years now." "So what was the attraction, he sounds pretty normal to me." "He's like you, he has his very own style and smells awesome. He looks after himself his shirt was tight, and so were his pants." "So he's not for Trish, he's for you then." "No Adam I thought Trish would get along with him because he's probably gay. What do you think I am, Evans has just moved out you want Trish to be screwing around so early?" "Umm no, he sounds perfect Kase, are you sure he's not for your pleasure?" "No, I don't even fancy him I fancy you though." "Good thinking Kasey Casey." I giggled. "Look, Adam, no matter who she picks she will never have an affair with them, she loves you, and she loves the gays. He is ideal for her because she can fuss over his grooming without being obligated, and she can trust him not to annoy her." "Good, but can I trust him?" "You mean can you trust me?" "I will get jealous if you make him your best buddy." "I don't have to, I already have you. And anyway Adam he's too butch for me. I like my men a little more on the dainty side." "Dainty, you think I'm dainty? I don't think so." "Coffee darling." "Coming up honey." I laughed. It does make sense that Trish should have a gay flatmate, they will get on like a house on fire. I pulled the chickens apart and instead of salad I placed some veggies in the oven and some on the stovetop, we are having my version of a roast. I answered the door and a young man asked for Kasey, I gave Kase his name and he okayed his entry. "You planned all this didn't you?" "Yes Adam, I wanted to see if Trish and Mick would click." "So that's his butch name then is it?" "Michael Newstead, yes I suppose that's a straight name." He was gorgeous, also well-groomed, and fit as a fiddle. I introduced myself and invited him in. "Wow this is awesome Adam, my god look at this, my gran had perfume bottles like them I must ask mum what happened to them." He and Kasey saluted and he stood down, his eyes went to Sam and he asked if he was our son, we said yes he was. I offered coffee and he accepted, he then handed Kase a memory stick and said. "It's all there major, we have sorted out the unusual words and checked it all three times." "That quick?' "Yes, once they get going there no stopping my boys, and we had nothing better to do today." He giggled. "Well for doing that for my husband, I am cooking you a roast chook dinner, it won't be long." "I can't stay Adam, it's a long drive back home and I got to get moving." "Ring your mum and tell her you are staying over, we have plenty of room," Kase said. "Are you serious?" "Yes stay here for the night and when our friend Trish arrives just mention casually that you are looking for a flat in the area." "I'm gay Kasey please don't set me up." I admired his casual admission. "I know, and she's the best-looking fag hag I have ever met, and she has a spare bedroom going begging." He lifted his eyebrows. "Where does she live?" "The flat across the hall, exactly the mirror image of this one, come on I will show you through." "She might not like me." "She will, and she will fuss over you, so be prepared to have a new look by the weekend." I grinned. Kasey and Sam showed him through the place he was blown away and as I took the veggies out of the oven, Trish arrived. She was introduced and that's when the fun started. "Mick it's been too long, how are you going?" I looked at Kasey and started laughing. I knew Mick from the salon he comes in to see Trish. They are old school friends and although I have never spoken to him she seemed to like him a lot. "You know each other?" Poor Kasey "Yes Major, Trish and I went to school together, she's also my stylist." "So I hear you are looking for a flatmate?" He looked at her. "I wasn't but if you are interested, I am now." "A hundred a week." "Two hundred includes internet access, we share the bills." "Done, when can I move in?" "Tonight, tomorrow, next week at your own pace." "Can I stay the night?" "Of course, we can have a girly catch-up." My laughing got to Kasey and he slapped my arm, I looked at him and said. "It's a small world Kase, but you did well." "Were you trying to set me up Mr, Kasey?" "Yes but I think it backfired." "Thank you for trying, Mick and I go back a long way, this is awesome." "Does this mean you don't sleepover with me tonight aunty Trish?" Sam had been dying to find out. "Yes pumpkin, but you can come to stay with me if you want." "I will think about it." He stared at Mick probably thinking three is a crowd. I made him his dinner and he sat and ate it on the couch. Mick and Trish talked non stop and Kasey put the memory stick into the computer, He started reading I made up plates and the other two fussed over each other. I have no worries at all about him there were no lingering looks at Kasey or me, he's one of the good guys. Sam was another problem because Kase was into his work and the others had gone off so Trish could show him the flat, Sam sat quietly on his own. "Now baby tell dad what's up?" "Nothing daddy, I thought maybe aunty Trish would have a sleepover with me again." "She is a bit busy with her friend, but you can go and stay with her." "No I will miss you and poppa, I only like to visit over there." "Okay we would miss you too, why don't you have a sleepover with us tonight instead." His eyes lit up and he was happy again. "Can I ring Billy now?" "Of course, you can, and I am looking forward to our sleepover too." I kissed him and he picked his phone up. The phone is the first thing Kasey bought for him it goes everywhere he goes, a security thing. It didn't take him long to work out how it all operates, he's a clever boy, just like his papa. Kase was deep into his reading, and the note paper came out once again. I filled the dishwasher and got it going then I made coffee and sat opposite him. He looked up once or twice and smiled so I placed my foot in his crotch. I suppose there will be no lovemaking tonight seeing we have a guest and then I had an idea. I went to find the sleeping bags and put them on our bed, one for us and one for Sam it will be just like sleeping at the cabin. They came back and Mick was very happy with his new digs, he even had some decoration ideas but I cut him short when he said he would like to get a display cabinet like mine. "It's a one-off." "I'll get a bigger one then." "Good luck with that." "Girls, stop it if anyone's going to buy a display case it will be me, small dainty, and shoved in the corner to collect dust." "Another wine Trish?" I offered. "Yes please, Adam." They left earlier than I expected, Sam was readied for bed and he was excited when he saw the bags, he didn't need to be told twice as he jumped in with a big smile on his face and stayed there while I read him a story. "Is he asleep Adam" "Yes Kasey, I warn you we are camping out tonight." "That's nice, how is it all going down there?" "Very nice Kasey, I feel the love." My knees aren't what they used to be but I coped with the discomfort while I took care of my man. I went to bed around ten thirty and cuddled my son who was still smiling in his sleep. Kasey didn't appear until one, he wanted to rock and roll but I was too tired. The morning came too soon, Sam was awake and ready to go and Kasey poked my back with his sword. I had a terrible decision to make, either let Kase have a shot, or look after our son. Sam won in the end so I crawled out of the sleeping bag and went to set him up. Kasey must have missed me because he walked out, he rubbed his face, and then turned his laptop on. I made coffee and milo and he started reading again, he had those awesome glasses on they made him look so distinguished. "So you will be reading all day Kase?" "Yes Adam, I did a lot last night so I haven't a lot to do today, I have to read it several times because a lot of information is hidden away in obscure places." "Okay I will walk Sam to school if you like, the sooner you get it done the better." "No that's my job, and I need to go see Luca again anyway." "Right." I smiled, at least we can get that out of the way. I wiped Sam down and readied him for another amazing day then I took care of Kasey's sword in the shower. So many things to do before work and it doesn't stop there, the kissing the walking to the bakery the smells ect, ect. I opened the salon and breathed in my scents, I was alone and stood there for a long moment then I started again. Buns were placed in the keeper and I turned the urn on. I sat and waited for the kettle to boil then I made coffee. Gloria was next to arrive and she sat with me and had a bun, she was telling me she's got two clients today and she wants to do them out the back. I insisted they be done in the salon. "Not these two Adam, I will get Marko to give me a hand if I may." "What's wrong with them?" "They are just starting and have a long journey ahead, I told them to come in and we can try some different looks, they don't mind paying for my time Adam both have jobs and money. It's hard for them to get comfortable with others looking on, that's all." "So they have got two heads then?" I smiled. "Not at all they will do well, but small steps at the moment. It's not you or the salon it's them wanting privacy." "Okay ask Marko, if not I will help out," "Can I use the back entrance?" "Of course, you can but I'm not happy with this." "They will be happy Adam, it's not your choice. I know how you feel but it's their wishes, just until they feel more comfortable in their skins." I was a bit unhappy about it but what do I know, it would be so hard for them. The gang arrived, and by the way they are talking they went out last night and had a blast as Marko puts it. Tim told me the commander has the weekend off and I gave him a spare key to the cabin. He skipped off as happy as Larry. Trish was last to arrive, she had been walked to work by her new flatmate. I could see a new excitement in her eyes, so I hugged her. "Sorry he's gay but Kasey thought it best not to rub it in Evans's face." "He's a great human that man of yours Adam." He does it to me every time and didn't disappoint today, he poked his head in the door just as I released Trish. "Everything all right here?" "Of course Kasey and thank you, I forgot Mick said he had been looking for a place to stay." "Just don't forget us Trish, and Trish?" "Yes, Kasey?" "If you could make a sleepover date with Sam at our place it would be appreciated, I need Adam to myself occasionally." He winked and she laughed. I offered coffee and he said yes, when he passed Tim's station he handed him some money, I knew it wouldn't be for sex and I didn't even have to ask, he offered. "I gave Tim some money to buy a bucket of KFC on the way up to the cabin, for the boys next door." "Good idea Kase, they will love you more for that." "That's my plan." He grinned, I know he wants more kids in his life, he and Sam have a lot of fun together but there's room for more. "So you have seen Luca?" "Yes all is out now, the neighbor attacked the wife and tried to rape her, she stabbed him just as the husband came home. They concocted a story for the cops, but if they had told the truth from the start they wouldn't be in a mess now, probably no charges laid but now Luca's not very happy." "It's a good outcome then, I hope they move on and forget all about it." "Well, here's hoping they see the foolishness of their ways." I heard the back door open and words were spoken I didn't go and have a geek at them, I let Gloria conduct this one. "Clients of Glorias, they wanted some privacy, so she's looking after them in the storeroom," I whispered then kissed my man. "Well I will see you soon, I have some more reading to do." "Be good and I will get your lunch, well Lynnie will." I giggled. More kisses and my next client will be that difficult man hunter that cheats on her husband just about every day, but she pays well. Not a long hard day today, even though we were all busy with clients, the ladies out the back left around eleven and Kasey arrived back at twelve. He said he got a lot done, but he still had to do a report on it and that will be long. "It's a shame you can't get Mick's men onto it they could type it out in no time." He sat and thought about it for some time then he said. "You know Adam your right, but it is a top-secret document so I had better do it myself." "Now Adam, Wilson has the final plans done and he wants to start as soon as possible, the builders aren't busy at the moment I told him to start Monday." "That's fine the commander and Tim will be finished with it by then, do I get to see my house plans?" "No." He grinned. I must talk to Eva she may help me if I'm nice to her. My other contact Rhoda has already said she will send me photos from across the gully, which will give me a better, bigger look. After lunch I had another new client, she wanted her split ends done, a very pleasant lady who works at one of the embassies, I didn't catch which one. I did her hair she wanted the toilet so I showed her then I went to talk to Trish at the front. My next client was a soldier wanting a complete head shave, When I looked up I saw my split-end lady leaving she sure took her time in the toilet and she talked with Trish for quite a lengthy time. I didn't take much notice of it, but it was unusual. My soldier boy looked awesome and he was happy with the result, so I led him to the desk and he paid Trish and left. "What was the new lady wanting Trish?" "Nothing Adam, she was just saying how she loves this salon and will be coming back, just small chit-chat." "Is Kasey picking up Sammy?" "Yes, he will be here at three as usual." I smiled. "Mick's parents are dropping off some stuff tonight and taking him to dinner, so I am free for a sleepover with Sam and we need to give you a trim also." She does what she does best and started playing with my hair, it's like a tiny head massage with Trish and her nails do give me a good scratch, I always feel I should shake my leg and pant a lot. "It's a novelty for him, humor him for a few nights then he will move on to something else." "That's okay I have nothing better to do." "You do, you have to reconnect with Mick at some stage." "He's great Adam. I won't have any problems with him, he was such a nice kid at school everyone loved him." "That's cool, he is quite good-looking." "He's gay and you're taken." I walked off laughing with my next client. The same thing happens every day, Kasey calls at nine, twelve, and three, today he was on time and we slowly walked down to the kindy, he was being quite chatty. "I am recording my findings onto the memory stick and want to talk to dad about using the typing pool to type it up for me. Your suggestion was a good one Adam, but I have to see if they have the necessary clearance." "I could do it." Well, I offered. "You can't type as fast as the guys can." "Well, I could try, and maybe become your secretary. I believe leaning over the desk is a requirement nowadays." I laughed. "You do my head in Adam with an a, what are you doing at lunchtime tomorrow?" "Coming home." More laughs. "You know Kasey, the guys have already seen the documents when they reorganized them, I think you will find they are all sworn to secrecy, plenty of top-secret stuff would go through their hands." "That's right, but I will ask the general or commander in any case." "What do you feel like for dinner?" "I don't know, maybe a steak and veggies." "That I can do, is the barbeque full of gas?" "Yes." "I'll get some mini sausages for Sam and I think Trish is calling in to ask him for a sleepover." "Good he likes them the best." He grabbed our son and tickled him then he threw him over to his back for a ride home. I grabbed his backpack and walked behind tickling him now and then. They waited this time out the front of the butchers while I bought dinner, then the greengrocers for some vegetables. Sam had something to do tonight, he had to write a small story about his favorite toy. He was confused because he likes all his toys. Kasey sat with him for a few minutes and they nutted it out and made a list. I did the veggies and gave him some biscuits and milo then Kasey wanted some. I was listening intensely to the items, and in my head, I was deleting them from the list because of something or other. I made coffee and sat down with them. "Okay, son what is your favorite thing in the world that you own and do not play with?" "Daddy I don't know, I love papas medals but they are not mine to play with, I love the tv but it's not a toy. Daddy to be real, I love my perfume bottle the best because I feel safe with it on my table. I look at it all the time and I smell the smells and it reminds me that I am loved." My tears erupted slightly and I used my sleeve to wipe them away. "Then you write about the perfume bottle." "It's not a toy." "It is if you pick it up and look at it, you are playing with it. Every time you bring it out here and put it on the coffee table to look at it, you are playing with it." "Really daddy because it's the best I own." "Really son, it's not a toy but it does entertain you." He looked at Kasey. "Dad's right son, it is a kind of toy. Toys are made for little kids to entertain them and your bottle always does that." "Can I write that papa?" "Go right ahead, son." Kase slipped the note paper over to him and he grabbed a pencil. He took his time and at one stage he went to grab his bottle and placed it on the table to look at. Kasey went back to his computer and I placed my foot on the floor it had started aching, he groaned. "What color is that dad?" "Purple son." "Can I spell it?" I told him the letters slowly so he gets them right. He had done a great job of convincing everyone that his bottle was his best toy in the world. When he finished we looked it over and congratulated him then he put the bottle on the coffee table and turned the tv on. "That went well," I said. "Adam, are you trying to tease me?" "What?" "Come on put your foot back." I did what I was told, giggling. Trish arrived and she kissed him, then us, she accepted our dinner invitation and sat once again playing with my locks. "When do you want me to do it, after dinner or before?" "After Trish, I need Kasey to put the steaks on, the veggies are done." He looked up and put his laptop aside then tapped Sam on the shoulder. "Come on son let's light the barbeque." Sam jumped up and followed him outside, I got them out of the fridge. "Are his parents nice?" "Yes Adam, they are country folk and love the apartment they said to thank you and Kasey." "So he's taking them downstairs for dinner then?' "Yes, a thank you dinner, they bought most of his clothes up so he didn't have to drive all that way to get them. I think they are staying the night so I am free to go in with Sammy." "He likes that, but we won't make it a habit, Mick will start to think the flats all his." She laughed. Sam made her read his letter about his favorite toy and she agreed it was one of his most beautiful toys. She also told him she hadn't changed her bed and could she sleep in his tonight because she doesn't want to fix it until tomorrow. He jumped at the chance and immediately started planning what she will read to him. He also suggested she buy a sleeping bag for her bed, but she declined graciously. "Trish, has Mick said anything about his security clearance at work?" Kase asked. "No Kasey he hasn't even mentioned his work, I think he's been silenced in that department, why?" "I want him to type up something for me, top secret stuff." "Didn't they just do that?" "Yes, it's my report that I want doing." "I wouldn't worry about it, in my experience just about every private secretary buttons their lips. My sister did that for some time for a big corporate manager she once told me she concentrates on the spelling more than the words." "Come on, son steaks to be cooked." He took the platter and they started their father-and-son cooking classes. "Is it okay if I invite Mick to our pizza night, Adam?" "Of course it is, any friend of yours is a friend of ours." I smiled. Dinner was superb, he's a good cook that husband of mine, and Sam loved his baby sausages also, I could tell by the lip-smacking sounds. I cleared the table and took my light jacket off, then my shirt, I usually change it during the day just to freshen up my look. I chucked it on the floor and Trish got her tote bag out. Kasey walked back from the toilet and stopped in his tracks. He picked my shirt up and looked at it. "If you start sniffing that then we have a problem, Kase." "Adam, can I see you outside?" "Sure." I looked at Trish, she was as confused as I was. "What's up husband, did my smelly shirt turn you on?" "No Adam, where did you get the shirt from, here or at work?" "Work Kasey, I change my shirt before you come in and pick me up to get Sam. I like to be fresh when I leave the salon that's all." "You have been bugged." "What?" "There's a tiny bug on the hem you wouldn't have noticed it but I am trained to see things like that. How long has it been at the salon?" "Only two days Kase, I keep five in my locker, and after two changes I throw them in the salon wash. How could anyone bug me it would have gone in the wash tomorrow after I change." "It's a dissoluble one, so no talking about my business when we get back inside, only salon stuff until I figure out what to do with it." He walked me back inside and Trish looked at me, then he picked the shirt up and threw it in the hall cupboard. "What are you going to do with Adam's hair, Trish?" "Just a small trim Kasey, nothing outrageous." "Good, I will be watching." "You do that." He picked his phone up and walked outside again, I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote. `I have been bugged at work, Kasey just saw it on my salon shirt.' Then I put my finger to my lips and shushed her, she nodded her understanding and went about trimming my hair. "I think I will give you a dye at work tomorrow Adam, that grey is coming back." Kasey returned and started writing something, he passed it over. 'The salon will be swept tonight, don't worry I got this.' I nodded, and I know the security guys have a spare key to the salon, it's kept at the fed building. "So Trish, there seems to be a lot of hair on the floor." "Yes Kasey, Adam has thick hair, it's a mess at the moment. Leave it to mama she will sort it all out." The next fifteen minutes were mad and Kasey took Sam out to the balcony and talked to him, he came in smiling and sat to watch the front door. The bell went and Kasey let them in. Two guys were at the door and he showed them where the shirt was. They picked it up and threw it in the sink then turned the water on. Sam was warned to be quiet when the guys arrived, and after they soaked it they nodded. Two more guys came in and started sweeping the apartment for more bugs. When they thoroughly went through all their gizmos one finally said. "All clear major." I let my breath out and looked at Sam. "It's okay baby, you can breathe now." He let out the biggest `wow' ever. "Can I ring Billy?" "Yes, son." Kase got a phone call and the salon had been swept, they found six bugs which they dealt with on the spot, Kasey sat with the guys and they started nutting out a security plan. Trish and I moved to the bathroom and I worded her up on what's been happening, she understands because she lived with Evans for a while and he knows security. "So someone has been in the salon dropping bugs all over." "Well, that shirt would have been in yesterday's wash so whoever did this was in after lunch yesterday or today." "God we better look at the security footage then." She finished off my hair it felt so much better, then we went out to join the men, something had been nagging me and I realized what it was. "Kasey is the security footage at the salon is it on all the time?" "Yes, Adam they are going through it now." "They are looking for a Chinese woman, she came in just after lunchtime today." "He got on the phone and told whoever was on the other end what I had said. "Oh and tell them she works at an embassy." "How do you know Adam?" "We had two strange customers in today, Glorias two trans girls, and one Chinese lady who wanted a trim, she also wanted to use the toilet and she took ages, Trish you remember her." "Yes Adam, she talked to me, but nothing about bugging the place." "You guys had better check Trisha's clothes from today, there may be another one attached." Kasey was enjoying this. Trish got up and walked two of them into her apartment. Sure enough, they found one attached to her smock. "She did a thorough job, Kasey." One of the guys said. "She was in there for ages Kase, they could be planted anywhere." "They have swept the salon Adam, but I will get them to do it again tomorrow, the other staff may have been bugged also." "I had better ring them and let them know to throw everything they wore today in the wash." "Good idea," He said. "What the hell were they looking for in the first place?' Trish asked. "These." He tapped his paperwork and computer. "What I'm working on has to do with Malaysia's contracts with China, there's a lot of sensitive notes in here." "So you think she's from the Chinese embassy? I couldn't make it out not that I bothered about it." "We may have missed that bit but her facial recognition will bring up something. Maybe we had better get onto Evans she may be catching a plane out tonight." One guy said. Kasey sat back and rubbed his face and groaned. "Diplomatic immunity, that's all I hear." "Your probably right major." "Well they didn't get any important details from us, so it was a futile operation. I had better move to the fed building I don't want to place anyone in danger here." Then he added. "If they had attempted to get into the laptop everything would have been wiped, only my password would get them in." "I got into it," I said. "You were lucky, I have since changed it." he grinned. "So where do we go from here?' "We leave it up to the military guys, they will deal with it all." I pulled out my phone and started ringing the staff, I didn't say why I just said they had to do a wash. I will get the questions tomorrow but from what Kasey said they will be checked as they walk in the door of the salon. The guys talked to Sam for a few minutes then he shoved his write-up in front of them so they can have a read. They agreed it was the best toy for him, he then saluted them along with his father and left. "So you think you will work at the fed building from now on?" "I guess so Adam, how far are you from installing the windows on the balcony?" "I put it off Kase because dad has to have some sort of access to the place." I giggled. "We had better rethink them and have them done, I will talk to Wilson in the morning." I felt a loss and said I liked it the way it was that's why I struggled with doing it and felt there was no need now I wasn't going to renovate the lower apartment. "Okay then maybe some better security doors across the big windows. Let me think about it, I doubt there will be any more trouble once I move and they will know by now their plan failed." "I hope so Kase." "Now Mr, Sammy, time for bed I feel like an early night," Trish said, Sam's ears pricked up and the tv went off. Donations to Nifty are very much appreciated.
