He has never seen such wonder and was so excited because his papa took him on most of the rides. His daddy sat and waited for them to finish each one. I'm not the kind of guy who loves being tossed around unless it's in bed, that's a different kind of fun park. After five rides Sam sat with me and stared at all the wonders, he placed his hand on mine and said. "Daddy this is amazing, the second-best day ever." "And your best day is?" "When poppa came and found me." Kasey arrived with some pink candy floss and I had to look away. As I said sometimes I forget where he came from, and always look at him as being just a happy kid in our lives. It was time to go, he was tired and I had to get back to being the best dad ever. He fell asleep on the way so we didn't go to the beach, just straight down the freeway. Kasey carried him upstairs and placed him on his bed and I covered him up, his new fluffy toys were placed next to him. "Where are you on this law thing Kase?" I asked after another round of man sex. He propped himself up on one arm and said. "I have read it all, now I have to rewrite it, the whiteboards will be around for a while, I can't hurry this." "Kasey, I am sorry I get a little possessive of the apartment and I sometimes forget who lives here with me. I forget to look at it as our family home, and whatever you want to do in the family room is okay with me, because I kind of like being a family. The old Adam was a moody bugger, but he sees his faults and will do something about it." "Don't you dare change for us, stay the same, and Adam?" "Yes?" "We like you the way you are, even Sam smiles whenever he hears your crazy rants, he told me once it reminded him of the way he imagined a real family was like. So never change and I will continue to annoy you if you don't mind." "Pop over on your tummy baby, there's something I want to do." He collected his awesome rim job and then wanted to get back to work. He had learned how to dictate into his phone, he would send it to Mick who typed it into the computer. Sometimes when he had a lot to say, he would sit on the balcony and do it, so he doesn't disturb us. I will talk to Wilson about having it windowed off so it's used more than it is. The cabin is coming along nicely, so I am told, I have also been told not to drive up there and look on the sly. Eva was tight-lipped, and anyway, as she said to me one day. Wilson has the plans well hidden because she had looked for them. I think he keeps them in his office at the fed building. I had no worries about it, Kasey has it all in hand and he also has the trust in hand. We had been summoned to Walsham's office one day and Kasey was dressed down by him, he had taken it upon himself to shift half the wealth into some bonds he said were better performers. Walsham wasn't happy, Kasey wanted him to trust him. Jimmy and I sat and giggled into our brandy. "Who do you think will win?" "Kasey of course, Walsham's men need a good kick up the bum for investing in proven but stagnant stocks. I think he will do well for us Adam." "He will." I was so proud when the accountant came in and agreed with Kasey's decision, Walsham hit the brandy then. The opening night was a cocktail party. The do not enter ropes had been temporarily put aside and the guests could roam wherever they wanted to go. There were reporters, big wigs from the museum, and the appropriate university scholars, that studied everything to do with the arts. Ladies dressed to the nines and men wore tuxedos, my man was the best and caught many eyes while he strutted around. The biggest stars at the party were Cody Mitchell and Daniel Lawrence, I had become fond of Cody through our business dealings and his sense of humor is second to none, he had us in stitches most of the night. Mum wore her evening dress and the ring, which sparkled all night, Trish wore her earrings and surprisingly a very elegant floor-length gown. Mick looked gorgeous in his tux and Eva and Wilson stole the show, she had bought a vintage beaded dress and looked awesome, barrel curls and all. "Dan, my eyes are over here." Cody started. "I wasn't looking at anything Cody." He blushed. "Well, when you stop looking at nothing. Kasey is taken, but I'm available tonight." He had a sneaky grin on his face. "Cody Mitchell, will you stop that." "But Dan, if you want to bed Kasey you have to ask Adam first." Poor Dan he wasn't doing anything different than the others were doing with my man, looking is free and he got plenty of looks from the men and ladies tonight. "Come on Dan be nice, ask Adam if you can bed his boyfriend." Dan looked at me and I smiled. "Of course you can Dan, he's a great tight fuck. Just ask him, he can take you down to our apartment for a quick one now if you like." Dan walked off towards Kasey and Cody thumped me on the arm and said. "That didn't go the way I wanted it to Adam." "Well, I'm sure they will have fun. And if you were fishing for compliments, take it from me, you look stunning tonight." I started giggling. He rushed off and grabbed Dan's arm and didn't let it go for the rest of the night, it was so funny. Cody's such a gorgeous man, I wouldn't mind giving him one on the sly. The night was a big success and everyone got a small handbook memento. The museum will open in two days and the cleaners will be in tomorrow. The pre-bookings were through the roof, there will be three tours a day with only twenty people per tour allowed, it has sold out for the next six months, so I am told. The boxes in the games room were still waiting for me to open them, I will start doing that when everything settles down a bit. We finished our last cocktail then we said our goodnights and went home. Sam and Billy were being supervised by two army guys Kasey had organized, they were in bed asleep when we got in. No coffee just a thank you to the guys and goodnight to mum and dad and I readied for bed. Kasey was also ready to jump me, he had his bikini underwear on tonight so I flipped him over and started my journey toward giving him a good shafting. He protested mildly, but I won in the end, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I could tell Dan hadn't gotten to him in the bathroom, he was nice and tight. Sam and Billy were up early I could hear the tv, so I put my bathrobe on and went out to see if they needed anything. I put the coffee on and made some milo for the kids then sat at the table flicking through the booklet I had received last night. She was a star, and hopefully, her memory will go on for many years to come. I was dreading going through those cartons but strangely excited to delve once again into Adele's life. I will take our trolly up sometime in the next few days and collect a couple. Mum came out still sporting that ring on her finger, she will take it off one day when she finds out how much it's worth. "Good morning, dad sleeping in?" "He's awake son, he's just finding it hard to get motivated." Two pairs of young ears heard her and immediately jumped off the couch and headed to her room, I could hear dad laughing. "Is that enough motivation for him?" "Yes son, you did well," She laughed. Kasey appeared and he still had his bikini underwear on, although mum didn't see it, I did as his bathrobe flapped open, and my hard-on was instant. The weather is improving again, and the rain was becoming less and less depressing. The whiteboards were now covered in colored scribbles and lines and I had been warned not to clean them off. When I looked at them closely they were a window into Kasey's mind, each line meant something and he would look at it often, there is a road map in there somewhere but naturally, I couldn't make it out. Mick had gone back to his office but complained he had nothing to do, but Kasey kept him sort of busy by sending messages, it was a clear indication he was reading everything when a couple of times he told Kasey he had already done that part. Then they would discuss the new part and Kasey would explain why it was done deliberately that way or other. I finally went upstairs after mum and dad left, the cleaners were there and I grabbed the small trolly and took two cartons downstairs. I figured that instead of watching Kasey work, I will get involved with my project. It wasn't as bad as I thought, as I looked through one. The first item I picked up was a book of baby photographs that were of Johnny and his parents at the hospital. Adele looked tired and her husband was smiling as he held the tiny baby's hand. He was a handsome man but looked a little older than my friend, she once told me he was the gentlest man she had ever met, and in the madness that was her career, he always made her feel quite normal. I put the book aside to look at later on. There were documents in a folder with photos, some of my building being built, and signed contracts and orders for all the materials, even the plans from Cody's grandfather were in there. I was building up to another museum event and I know Cody would love a copy of the contracts and plans. I started making a stack of my own, but not where Kasey's stuff was. I used a wall space next to my display case. The rest of the boxes were folders with building plans and designs in them. I thought it funny that a well-known builder kept these plans, he would have had a mountain of them stored in his office, maybe he kept the main ones at home, like the ones that mattered. The next carton was full of thousands of photographs, a whole lifetime of modeling, no albums just quality photos. I guess the ones in the albums were her favorite ones, and to be honest who wants hundreds of albums hanging around? It made sense she tossed these extras into a carton. I was thinking if this is what's in the others I will have no problem looking through them. Kasey had picked up the baby photo album and was looking through it he was smiling to himself, I took my phone out to the balcony and rang Cody. He told me the plans would have been the builders, that he had all his grandfather's plans and his grandmother's designs in big architect's drawers at his home. We talked about the opening night and some business I needed to discuss with him, then I hung up and went back to the table. Kasey had finished his looking and was now back to reading, I looked through the book again and then put it aside. He got a phone call and told me he had to go out for a couple of hours, he never said where but when he came back he had two buckets of KFC so I guessed he had made a trip to the cabin. He was excited and Sam was even more excited to see the big red and white tub. I put some out for us all and left the rest for Mick and Trish, they won't be far away. Sam got some chips also he was very happy to sit and eat watching his shows. "So are they nearly finished up there?" "Not quite." I lifted my leg and gently placed my foot in his crotch. "No hints?" "It will be wonderful." I rubbed harder. "Give me something Kasey I'm dying here." He put his book down then grabbed my foot and pressed it harder into his shorts. "Your salon arrived today." "My what?" I almost screamed. "Your portable, the one that's going to be your salon when you are there." I couldn't say anything I was dumbstruck, we had only discussed it I don't remember even looking at them. "Do you want to see a photo?" "Do I?" He handed his phone over and I looked at the photos, a small cabin much the same as the big one, was sitting on the side of our driveway. It looked beautiful. "Where did you get this from?" "Wilson had it built, it was delivered today. I went up to make sure the placement was correct, they will build a garage on the end of it for the car, and some storage." "It's beautiful I love it." I jumped up and moved next to him then I had to give him a smacker, and a hand rub. "Well done," I said. "They will hook it all up, two sinks and two chairs just in case you get busy. You need to go to the suppliers and get the stuff you will need unless you have plenty in the salon." "I can get new stuff, want to come shopping with me?" "Of course, they will need to be delivered to the cabin so the guys can install it all, and Adam?" "Yes, Kasey?" "Don't forget the chandelier." He giggled. "And the rest, do we need to buy anything new for the cabin?" I'm on a roll now, he may slip up and tell me something. "No, it's all done." "What the cabin?" He smiled. "Leave it for two weeks, it will all be finished by then, and maybe we can go stay a couple of nights." he grinned. I was looking forward to seeing this amazing renovation and my new salon, or should I say barber shop probably. "You might like to involve your business partner Trish also, she might think of something you have forgotten." Of course, Trish will be involved. She and Mick arrived at six and while Kasey and he talked Trish and I made a list. The chicken got the better of Kase and he started unloading it onto a big platter, from experience Trish and I took the pieces we wanted and left the rest to them to fight over. Sam had finished but he came over to see if he needed more. He was handed a leg which he grazed on. "Do we get the antique chairs or the basic ones?" "Basic Adam, I recon the black steel ones. And we should tone down the mirrors and chandeliers to more of the area appropriate look." I see what she means, we are almost in the country up there. I had a list by the end of the night and I think Trish was planning curtains and doilies, a country look but that's not happening, I will keep it simple. The next day all three of us went shopping, Sam was eager to go see some stuff and I, with the list in hand, will stick to the plan. The ladies were pleased to see us again and they welcomed Kasey back and his son who wanted to run around the small warehouse. I chose two nice sinks with folding chairs the two standard chairs, we won't need the bells and whistles ones, not in this salon. The rest of my shopping was bits and pieces, dyes and dryers, and assorted hairdressing essentials. I won't keep the beauty range or extra shampoo bottles, the local supermarket keeps all that, I just want to do hair and that's it. I arranged the delivery for two days and the ladies loved their big sale, they had a good time checking my husband's ass out too, for free. Back at home, I thought I would go and get another couple of boxes, pay my cafe account and then try to occupy Sam's afternoon. Kasey was back to his law books checking something out. He had rung Wilson and told him the salon stuff will arrive in two days and he said he will get his man onto it. So I am none the wiser with the cabin although I do know about the salon. Mick arrived just before lunch he had bought some pies for us all, which I was pleased about. I had sandwiches in mind but pies are nicer. We ate and then he and Kase got to work. I asked Sam if he wanted to come for a ride, and he was up for it. I placed him in the trolley then walked into the restaurant and paid my account, then around to the alleyway to get to the apartment. There were two museum people in it, they were getting ready for their first tour, I introduced myself and then opened the store to grab a couple of cartons. With them loaded up I locked it and we ventured downstairs again, by this time there was a small crowd of people in the alleyway. I should have stayed to hear their comments and to do the tour, I still don't know about half the things on display but I can always come back later. I do know the third one is a twilight tour so they can see the city lights. Kasey and Mick were hard at it so I dumped my cartons next to the sofa and while Sam watched something I opened the first one. It was full of contracts, I think my friend kept every one she had signed. I put that one aside, I can't burn this stuff but I can reduce the space by filing it away properly. I stacked it over where the others were, the next were photo albums, I deemed these as Adele's favorite ones from her modeling days, they were exquisite. She had written the photographer's name and the designer on paper under the photos, there were some top names there. I put that aside and will flip through them when I get a minute to myself or before I go to sleep, either way, I will look at them all. Later on, Trish arrived and she had bought a huge packet of fish and chips, Sam could smell them and I placed some chips into a bowl for him. The others were going to be kept warm in the oven but the smell got the better of them and they grabbed a plate each. "Why not," Trish said and helped herself then my tummy groaned and I ended up eating early. "Did you do some more cartons, Adam?" She asked. "Yes, one is full of contracts the other is modeling photo albums," "Can I look?" "Of course." She went and got one and began looking through it. "Wow." I heard it several times. Kase has finished his work for the day, and Mick grabbed an album to look at. Sam had sat on Kasey's knees, which immediately spoilt his foot rub. He was asking Kase about the cabin, and why can't we go there to see his mates on the weekend. My ears pricked up and I heard. "Because uncle Wilson is doing something special for you, and you can't go there it will spoil your surprise." "And daddies?" "Yes and daddies." "What is he doing papa?" "Lots of special things son, just have some patience." "Did you get a permit to trade from the local council, Adam?" "YesTrish all done I rang them, and it comes under the salon permits so no need to take a trip up the hills." "Silly boy, that would have been a good excuse to call in to see Wilson." She giggled. I looked at Kasey and winked "Good idea Trish," I answered. "It's magical Adam and Sam, that's all I am saying. It will be magical." He grinned. I took another album into the bedroom. I thought I could look through it before I went to sleep, no chance in hell. Kasey had me positioned in his favorite spot and he wasn't going to let up any time soon. It was late when we finished and I think I fell asleep immediately after. He was up when I woke and sitting at the table reading something. "Did you get up early?" "No, just twenty minutes ago, the coffee is fresh." "Thank you, how long have you got to go?" "Months Adam, this will take a few months to do then it's got to be looked at by a federal judge." "Are you confident it will be accepted?" "Yes, I have already reduced the volumes from three to two, and by the time I finish that will get smaller." "I see." I didn't see but if he says so then I will agree with whatever he says. Sammy arrived and he collected his hugs and kisses, I got up to make him his morning drink and he sat on the sofa to watch his cartoons. I went into the bedroom and grabbed the photo album, there were some serious photos in it. I was getting used to going through this stuff and my mood didn't drop, so I thought I was becoming immune to seeing Adele's beautiful face. Kasey was looking through some paperwork once again and after I made some bacon and eggs he dived on that and grinned at me. I think that's my cue that he wants some loving in the shower. My days passed and as I went through the cartons I did find more albums, a carton of baby toys and clothes, and several stacks of letters that I won't read, they are too personal. There was a stack of them from Johnny, I offered them to Jimmy but he didn't want to go back he was happy to just live as he has been for years. One carton had a piece of wedding cake still wrapped up, along with a big bride and a groom cake topper that Sam looked at for ages. I asked him if he wanted it in his room but he declined and said he has enough beautiful things. Mick was calling again every day and at one stage he and Kasey were out on the balcony arguing. He told me later that Kase had inserted some chapters that didn't make sense. "Do you think he's taken on too much Mick, answer me truthfully?" "I think what he's doing is brilliant but it's not a one-man job, it takes a team of legal eagles to rewrite these things. Quite frankly I think the Australian government has asked too much of him." "I see, so you think he's struggling?" "In a word, yes. Adam, please don't say anything I am trying to put it in some kind of order without him knowing, but even I don't know half this stuff." There was a subtle shift in my home and I was torn between telling Kasey he's taken on too much and what he wants to achieve, he became moody over the next two weeks and I became worried. I asked Trish and Mick to observe him because I valued their opinions, and they will report any concerns back to me. The cabin was something he held close, he hardly mentioned it and I was about to drive up and talk to Wilson myself when he finally said we should go up for a weekend. "Leave your books here Kasey, lets us just enjoy our weekend away." "I will need them, Adam." "I don't think so Kase, I want you to completely rest and concentrate on having a good weekend with your son." I know it was under sufferance he left them at home, but he took his laptop which was disappointing. We stopped at KFC and got the kids some chicken and chips, Sam almost sang all the way he was so happy to get back there again. We parked in the front and standing there was my small salon, it looked awesome. I didn't even unload the car I just walked over and looked in the window. Wilson's men had set it all up and I fully approved. Kasey was laughing with Sam and he came over and asked if it was okay. I kissed him and thanked him for his hard work, he then rattled a set of keys at me so I took them. I will look through the salon later but for now, I have a house to look at. Nothing much had changed, it was almost like a non-event. Yes, the room had been pushed out quite a bit, but my little kitchen was the same. The balcony was wider and Sam wowed all through the little cabin. I turned the power and water on then went to light the fire. "You did good my Kasey, this looks wonderful so much more room." "There's more Adam, don't light the fire just yet." I looked at my matches and replaced them on the hearth. He pushed aside the new barn door on the end of the balcony revealing a staircase, it was all glassed in with glass steps and chrome balustrades. He picked Sam up and took my hand and we went downstairs, I was gob-smacked. We were confronted with a completely glassed-in room, a whole different house had been built down the gully wall. "You did my design?" "Yes my Adam with an a, did you think I would do anything else than your idea?" "Well, yes." I giggled. "Wow, wow." Sam went on, this was an entirely different house than the cabin, a lounge room with kitchen and bathroom, a bedroom at either end all sitting amongst the lower foliage, all enclosed in a big glass cube. We would be living amongst the forest, and when I saw them I laughed, now I know what Sam was all excited about. A full-sized hippo, a giraffe, monkeys, and lions were hidden in the bushes. "They are fiberglass so they won't deteriorate." He grinned. "This is amazing Kasey, it's wonderful and warm as toast." "The heating comes from the ground an even temperature all year round. The windows darken at the push of a button, and there's still more." He slid a panel across and stepped out onto a pathway. You couldn't see it from the house but the path took us to a clearing where there was a barbeque and table, a lux lounge area. A fire pit he said ran on gas and it was all covered by a huge sail. I almost cried it was so beautiful. Sam had disappeared, but we could hear his delightful cries as he discovered more animals in his backyard, this will entertain him for months. "Have the boys next door seen this?' "No they were not allowed on the site, but they will be home soon then the fun starts." "You did very well, it's so bloody nice." "Adam, before you ask a limited amount of ferns were shifted not destroyed in the making. Wait until you see it at night time." "I can't wait." I turned and looked at this amazing man and then I kissed him. We heard yelling and before we realized it the kids from next door poked their heads through the bushes. They greeted us and hugged Sam, the chatter started and their catch-up was lengthy. "Did you see the fish pond, did you see the elephant?" They went on. Sam shook his head no then they took his hand and they ran further into the bushland. "They have been playing here since it started." I laughed at Kasey s face. "I guess they have." He smiled. "Little boys, you can't lock them out, there's too much to be discovered, well done. Come on I want to look in the house." It was nearly much like the one I had drawn, it was wider than what I had in mind, our bedroom was big but not huge, he had furnished it with a new bed and a set of vintage bedside drawers, a walk-in wardrobe, and a bathroom. Sams was different the same wardrobe and bathroom but he had two sets of bunk beds. The living room had the kitchen bench across the back and yes, he's put in a fire for camping, but a gas one with flames, they won't be able to do their marshmallows, but there's always mum's trick, the stove. The furniture was plush and comfortable, he had foregone the vintage hard look for a more relaxed contemporary look. "So we don't use the cabin at all now?" "It's for guests Adam, I didn't want to mess with it too much but we can still light the fire and camp out up there, sitting on the balcony will be ace we can see the livestock better." He laughed. This was built for Sam, he now has loads to do when he's up here in a kid's paradise. George and June came looking for their kids we hugged and they welcomed us back. "It's amazing Adam, we got reports every day from the kids, sorry we couldn't keep them off the property." George grinned. "We understand and I couldn't be happier with the results." I went into the kitchen and turned the jug on to make coffee. "Kasey can you go get the milk and food the kids will be hungry when they get back." He ran up the stairs and did that small chore for me. Our guests looked through the house and gave their approval then June asked the major question. "When are you opening the salon Adam, there have been cars pulling up every day for the past two weeks." "I have no idea June, we did think the first Monday of each month would be good for us." "That sounds good to me, be ready for a rush at first, maybe you should think about two days initially until it settles down." "I will talk to Trish." I smiled. Kasey came back with the kitchen stuff and I grabbed the milk and placed the chicken in the oven to keep warm. He also had his laptop case and started setting it up at the table. I didn't mind but I have to watch for any sign of stress, he hides it so well. He and George talked about the windows and the heating then the bushfire preventatives that were installed on the roof. A bigger water tank and hoses connected to the town supply will come in handy if that ever happens. The kids screamed back they were all so excited and talked a million miles an hour then they went to look at Sam's room, they each picked a bunk and then found the extra sleeping bags. They were dragged out and placed at the ready for a campout. My phone rang and of course, Mick and Trish wanted to visit. I asked Kase if that was okay with him, then I told Trish to buy some more chicken on the way. I dished up the chips and chicken to the kids, June and George had a piece each, and Kasey grazed on a leg. There was plenty to go around and when Trish gets here there will be more, the tv went on and the kids sat on the bags to watch after-school programs. I went upstairs to light the fire and try to warm the cabin up, the heat from downstairs is contained to those areas, I checked the beds and deemed everything perfect. I then walked out to the front and opened my salon. It was just as I wanted it, perfect in every way, I can seat two clients and four waiting with two washing. A coffee machine was plumbed in and all I had to do was unpack the shampoo and utensils I will need to run it. No reception desk just a lockable drawer for the money. A credit machine had been installed so I was ready to go. "Is it ok baby?" "Perfect, everything is perfect Kasey, we will have to get Eva and Wilson up for a weekend as a thank you." "They have been staying here the past two weekends." He grinned, and I will chastise Eva the next time I see her, for not telling me. It was starting to get cold by the time Trish arrived, I sang out for her to stick another log on the fire before she came down. She was gobsmacked and Sam had a hold of her hand and was trying to drag her outside, but it was getting cold so she said he could show her in the morning. George and June had a word with the boys and left us to it, they had things to do apparently. More chicken was handed out and Kasey lit the gas fire which will add to the warmth and ambiance. "It's bloody beautiful Kasey, you have done a great job with it all." Trish was still looking around. It was getting dark so Kase grabbed the remote and lightened the windows, they had slowly turned everything black and all of a sudden some hidden lighting came on. He showed Sam how to use it and left it on the table. They all climbed into the bags and talked about everything they were going to do tomorrow, I think they were playing Lion tamers.
