Abaddon, Greek name derived from Hebrew abaddown, meaning "destruction, ruination. Michel, his name meant the avenging angel, and he was the youngest brother of Alexandros and Abaddon. Michael Lakis, Greek name derived from the word nazara, "the guarded one, and FBI agent Chris Nomikos, a descendent Chrysanthos and a young police officer with the Springfield, Massachusetts police department Patrick O'Malley, older detective and good friend with Chris Brian Mathews, local bartender at the Pub, a popular gay bar Rickie, a seventeen year old hustler Chapter Four "Rickie, you've been a very naughty boy," Michael scolded, entering the room and looking at a naked Chris, who was glowing red with embarrassment. "Get dressed Chris," he said and turned his attention back to Rickie. "Come with me, there is much that I need to tell you about your powers," he paused, looking at Chris, "and how to use them," he commanded and the two of them left the house, while Chris hurried to get dressed. "If it's any consolation Chris, you've got a wickedly hot body," Brian told him, causing Chris to redden all the more. "It's not, but thanks," Chris told him and had just pulled up the pants to his uniform when Michael and Rickie walked back into the room. Rickie's face was red, beet red, and he hung his head in shame as he walked over to Chris. "I'm sorry Chris, really sorry," Rickie confessed, his head bowed in submission to Chris. "You should be, but hey, I forgive you," Chris said, hugging the boy tightly and flinching when Rickie licked the spot above Chris' pulse. "Richard," was all that Michael had to say and Rickie backed away, again standing submissively before Chris. "Sorry, but you really do taste delicious," he added with his customary smirk that always gave him that boyish look of innocence. "Michael, we really need to get back to work or else tell the captain about what you discovered. Is it alright if we leave Rickie here with Brian, while we finish out our shift?" Michael asked and Brian got a concerned look on their face. "What happens to me if vampire boy gets hungry again," Brian asked shooting a nervous smile at Rickie. "I just bite and drink from you," Rickie smirked and then licked his lips. "Don't worry; Michael has already fed me again, so I'm good until night." "But it's already night, or has your eyes failed you?" Brian asked. "Tomorrow night, silly," he assured him. "I also promise not to use my seductive powers on you either." "Great," Brian looked to Chris for his approval and when Chris nodded, so did Brian. "I guess I can stay with vampire boy," he reluctantly agreed. "Hey, I could be some kind of new super hero, Vampire Boy to the rescue," Rickie yelled out, curling his arms to show that he had muscles, which had greatly improved since his conversion. "Listen boy wonder, let's just stick to who you are for now," Michael commanded and Rickie nodded. *** Chris and Michael resumed their evening shift in deathly silence. Neither spoke, although both wished to and it was finally Michael that broke the silence. "He's not dead, you know." "Whose not dead, Abaddon?" "Yes, I just manage to injure him, but he will return and when he does, he'll be angrier than before," Michael confessed, looking over at Chris. "Then what, do you or rather we do then? Do we wait until then and again, hope to end his existence or do we wait until the dead bodies start mounting again before doing something? If you want my opinion, which I have come to realize means squat to you, but I'm going to give it to you anyways. Why aren't you looking for his hideout, casket or whatever you people use to seek rest in," he asked, his voice showing his disappointment. "You are angry with me," he stated more than asked, his voice calm. Chris pulled the cruiser over to the side of the road and parked in the shadows before he unleashed his fury. "Damn right I'm angry with you, you could have told me all this vampire shit before I walked into it and found out the hard way," Chris snapped. "Would you have believed me Chris, I don't think so, because you did not believe me even as the events unfolded. It took Rickie rising from the dead and me feeding him for you to realize that what I had said was true." "Well it's not everyday someone admits to being a vampire," Chris scolded back. "Lamia, I am a Lamia and not a vampire. There are totally different, those that are evil, like my brother Abaddon, are called vampires, and then there those that were made or created, like Rickie, they are called vampires also, but not necessary evil. They are controlled by whoever created them, so they are more or less at the mercy of their master. Then there are the Lamia, we are good and respect you human's right to life and happiness." "Thank you, I think," Chris said, not sure if he should be pleased or not by what Michael had just revealed. "Is Rickie limited in power or gifts, compared to say... you?" "No, he'll eventually come to learn and master the same gifts and powers that I have, but to a lesser degree." "And why is that, because he was once human?" "No, because my bloodline is of a royal lineage, I descend from the kings of the Lamia," he said with pride and authority. "I would have been king if things had played out differently with my brothers," he told him. "King, you could have been the king of the Lamias?" Michael nodded. "My brother is king, and rightfully so, while I am the long avenging arm of his rule. Michael, as in the Arch Angel that is the avenging angel of God, well I seek out those that choose to ignore the laws of the king and Lamia people." "Oh... so what now, do you leave or wait around for Abaddon to return?" "Yes and no, am I still wanted Chris, or now that you know the truth about me, do you fear me?" `If for no other reason, stay so I can lust over your body,' he thought to himself and then he remembered that Michael could read minds. "Both, yes I do still want you to stick around, for what better weapon to fight a vampire, than another vamp... err Lamia. Yes, I do fear you, I don't know why I do, but I just do. Oh I know you aren't about to sink your teeth into my neck, but there is something that is dangerously provocative about you. It's almost like I should know you or at least your family, but then you look nothing like your brother Abaddon." "Is that the only reason that you want me to stay, Chris, fear?" "Yes why, can you think of another one?" Chris dared to ask and kept his mind as blank as can be so that he would have no thoughts to read. "That won't work you know...keeping your mind clear of all thoughts," Michael warned with a rueful smile. "Eventually, you will have to think and then what will you do?" "Then stay out of my head and we'll get along just fine," he replied, restarting the car. "A person's thoughts are private, so would you kindly respect my right to privacy?" "Of course, but if and when they stray to be about me, then I have every right to read what you are thinking." "That being the case, how would you know that I would be thinking of you, unless you were already in my head? Have you got a smart ass answer for that, Mr. Lamia? Is everyone in the royal family as arrogant and medieval as you?" "Not all but thank you for the compliment, I'll be sure to mind my manners around you, Chris, even if you lust after my body," Michael said with a salute and slight bow to Chris. Chris did not like how this conversation was going, nor did he like being is such close proximity to Michael. Michael gave off a certain aura, a magnetism that seemed to attract Chris to him. Although he would love a night in his arms, which was something that Chris was not ready to admit to, he did find Michael irresistible, but just not at this moment anyways. Chris got out of the car and when he recognized where he had stopped at, he turned to go back to the cruiser, but he ran into Michael instead. "Oh...do you always have to move so quietly and fast?" "It's a part of who I am, Chris," he said thickly, his voice was seductive. Michael looked down and deep into Chris' eyes, and but a breath away from his face. "You know you want me, you want me as much as I want you," his voice hypnotic, compelling, that it seemed to draw Chris into him. Chris stepped back, shook his head to clear his thoughts and gave Michael an angry look. "Oh no you don't mister, it may have worked on me earlier with Rickie, but I am on to you," Chris scolded and turned, keeping his eyes forward and his back to Michael. Michael placed his hands on Chris' shoulders, gently turned him, and when their eyes met, he kissed him. Chris broke their kiss; his hand came to his lips as he stepped back from Michael, his lips were burning from Michael's kiss. It felt like a fire had touched his lips and slowly coursed its way into him. It was a liquid fire that seemed to burn slow and deep, consuming all in its path as it made its way to Chris' heart. "What's wrong Chris, you look as if you're in pain," Michael asked stepping forward. Chris held up his hand and placed it on Michael's chest to stop him, shaking his head as he stepped back away from him. "Don't Mike... can we just leave," he asked moving around Michael and getting into the car, quickly followed by Michael. "We should talk about what just happened, Chris," Michael said, placing a hand to Chris' thigh, once inside and driving away. Chris glanced down at his hand, which was like a hot brand on his leg and then glanced angrily up at Michael. He pulled his hand away, quickly. "No Mike, there is nothing to talk about. You used your power of seduction on me to make me kiss you and that is all there is to say about the matter." "What happened back there was natural, Chris. I never used my power of persuasion on you," he replied. "It was you and I, two men attracted to each other and nothing more that caused us to kiss," he added. "No...stop with the suggestions, I am not attracted to you, dammit. Now if you insist on continuing this conversation, I will simply drive back to the precinct and ask that you be removed as my partner," he stated with coldness that even Michael could not avoid. "Fine, deny it all you want Chris, I shall not bring it up again," he stated and turned to mist, slipping out the open window and into the night. Chris nearly went off the road, seeing Michael disappear like that. He slammed on the breaks while he regained his composure, and then drove away. He was confused, there was something within him that felt a need, a hungry longing for Michael, but yet, he feared him. Not because he was a Lamia, but something else, something much deeper caused him to fear him, as if loving him would mean the death of who is was. "I really need a drink after tonight, a strong fucking drink," he exclaimed out loud. *** Michael never came back the rest of the evening, but somehow, Chris felt that he was never far away. He continued his duties and when it was time to return back to the station, he simply made up his mind that if anyone asked where Michael was, he simply disappeared, he would tell them. By the time he finished the evening's debriefing with the captain, it was well past the time of the changing of the shifts. He found himself alone in the locker room, his shift's fellow officers having gone home already, and the others having begun their shift, so he went to his locker and began to undress, he wanted to shower here, not yet trusting Rickie enough to take a shower at his own apartment. Naked and reaching for his towel, he got a sudden feeling that he was not alone. `Michael,' he mentally thought without turning around. `Yes my love,' Michael mentally answered. He felt Michael's hands slide around his waist, suddenly being pulled back and against the hardness of Michael's body. He was like a wall of granite; his muscles honed to perfection and hard, rock hard. "I'm sorry Chris, so sorry for leaving you like that," he whispered, his breath a seduction in itself. "I just cannot handle rejection...especially from you." He kissed the long column of Chris' neck, licking the spot over his pulse before moving back up to his ear and biting the lobe ever so gently. Chris' arm came up, he reached behind him, his fingers entwined in Michael's hair, and he turned, their lips meeting. Michael pulled Chris against his hard naked body, his tongue delving and exploring in Chris' mouth. "Is this us Michael, or are you simply using your power to seduce me?" Chris whispered against Michael's lips. "Oh yes, I am seducing you, but I am using only the power of being a man in love with you to do so. I swear that this has nothing to do with my powers, if anything sweetheart, it's your power that is seducing me," he added and then took his mouth captive again, kissing him hard and long. "Not here Michael, not like this as some kind of cheap sex between two willing men. I want to be able to hold you without worrying that someone will come in and find us. I want to hold you in my arms all day if I want to and not worry, but enjoy your body next to mine." "Then let's shower and go back to your place," he whispered. "Can't we just go to yours?" "I have no place that I call home or even an apartment. My lair is not a place that I would bring you to. Besides, I must monitor Rickie, he's still a babe and must be kept under a close eye until he can be trusted to feed responsibly," he confided, taking Chris by the hand and leading him to the showers. They stood together kissing as the warm water cascaded over them; Michael's hands clung tightly to Chris, while Chris' hand explored his lover's body. They were about to take the moment further, when the door in the outer room closed, alerting them that they were not alone. "Hey, I see that I am not the only one lagging behind tonight," Patrick said, giving both naked men a quick once over with his eyes. Both Chris and Michael had the deer in the headlights look on their face, causing Patrick to think that he had interrupted something. "So how did it go tonight? I heard you call in for back up once, but then I heard Mike cancel, was everything all right," he asked as he began soaping up his body. "It wasn't what we thought, Pat," Michael quickly said, not lying but then again, not giving him the entire truthful story. "I know you are FBI, and that you agents like doing that rogue agent sort of thing, but here we call for back up when warranted," he said looking over at Chris for confirmation. "I was nothing Pat; all it was a dead animal. I was kind of over reacting after David's killing," Chris chimed in, looking to Michael for approval. "A dead dog and he thought we had another body," Michael added and Patrick nodded. "Well all of our nerves are on edge with this madman on the loose," he replied. "By the way, did either of you ever find this local hustler, Rickie, his boyfriend called in and reported him missing," he asked "We saw him later, he was with a john and never called his boyfriend to tell him that he would be late meeting him," Chris lied. "Great, I've been with the kid myself when times warranted it," he said with a smile. "You Pat... you and Rickie got it on?" Chris was surprised to hear that Patrick would take a hustler to bed. "Well between you, me and the lamppost, I was about to arrest him for common prostitution and well... I was horny and his sweet ass was very enticing. We kind of struck a deal so to speak, if you know what I mean," he asked and Chris grinned and nodded. "Isn't that abuse of your police powers," Michael asked raising a brow. "Kind of, but I wouldn't have really run him in, it's a game that he and I have played before." "Well as long as no one was hurt," Chris said, giving Michael a nod toward the door. "Well I for one am calling it a night," Michael said, taking the subtle hint and turning off the water to his shower. "Me too, see you tonight, Pat," they both said together. "Hey guys, I may be old, but I am not an old fool. I know I interrupted something when I came in, fuck guys, it was written all over Chris' face. Just go home and enjoy yourselves and be careful," he smiled and Chris walked over and hugged him. "You are the best, Pat, the very best," he whispered, kissing his cheek before leaving. "Thanks Patrick," Michael nodded and they left Pat alone. As they walked from the shower, Norm Martin was coming their way, towel in hand and his cock swinging as he walked. "Shit...I thought I was alone," he stammered, hurrying to cover his nakedness. "No problem Norm," Chris mused, smiling at how embarrassed Norm was over the incident. "By the way, Patrick is showering inside," he added. Things were quiet for a moment and Chris assumed that Norm was just embarrassed and hoping that they would leave, but Michael had read Norm's mind and had other ideas for the man. "Norman, look at me," Michael said seductively and the cop turned his eyes to Michael's. "You will go into the shower and find Patrick there. You will find him completely irresistible and after you pour out your heart to him, you will offer him your body," he said, his voice deep, haunting and commanding. Norm nodded and left them standing there, Chris' mouth gaping wide over what he had just witnessed. "What?" Michael asked, acting all innocent and Chris slapped his arm. "You know what mister; Norm is a married man with three kids and wife that adores him at home, so why did you do that to him?" "Listen and you'll know why I did it." They both stood by the open doorway and listened to Patrick and Norm as they talked. "Like I said Patrick, I have wanted you for the longest time, so would you please fuck me," Norm was asking Patrick. "Norm, you are married with children, why would you even want a homosexual affair?" "My wife is a staunch catholic and thinks sex if just for making babies, so she, we, we don't have sex anymore. So would you, at least let me have some fun with you? I am so fucking horny Patrick, that lately, even the crack of dawn is looking good," he said, turned and assumed the position, his hands bracing himself against the wall. "Who am I to judge," Patrick said as he soaped up his hard cock and pressed it to Norm's waiting hole. He gave a thrust and fully impaled Norm on his cock; Norm sighed and thrust back, meeting Patrick's eager thrusts. "I never would have guessed that of Norm and his wife. They always seemed to be that perfect couple at social functions. But how come Norm didn't scream with pain when Patrick impaled him?" "Honey, I read his mine when you told him that Patrick was showering. He's had an infatuation for Patrick and was afraid to act on it. So I did the only thing that seemed logical, I took away his inhibitions and had him make an offer that Patrick would be a fool to refuse." "But that doesn't explain why..." "He uses a dildo at home when showering or alone, so his ass is well primed for a cock like Patrick's. Now Chris, can we go home and resume what we started here?" "Resume... what is it that you think was started here, Mike?" "You, me, us babe, we are going home and make love, right?" "There is no us, Mike, now where you got that idea from a kiss is beyond me. You assume much for even a Lamia," he added, leaving a stunned and wounded Michael alone and wondering just what had happened. *** Deep within a fissure in the side of Mt. Tom, Abaddon lay silent. His body had been torn to nearly shreds, and he lay beneath the dirt, healing, loathing his brother even more. `This is hardly over,' he spoke in his mind, sending it out over the air to find his brother's mind. Michael was sitting beside Chris, as Chris drove, when his brother's words touched his mind. `If you know what's good for you, Abaddon, you'll go home and make amends with our king for your sins,' he replied to Abaddon. `Amend my sins, hardly brother dear, it is you and our senseless laws that need amending,' he retorted. `Now I want my slave back, I created him so he's mine," Abaddon shouted bitterly. `You neglected him so I fed the lad when he awoke, thus making him mine...brother,' Michael added. "Now be a good boy and go home and make amends, Abby," he mused, using the name that he did when they were but boys. Abaddon hated the moniker and loathed his brother even more, vowing to get revenge. "Ah Chrysanthos, you think that this officer is Alexandros' lover reincarnated, don't you brother dear,' he laughed viciously, knowing just how to avenge himself to Michael. `If you even dare to come near Chris, I will personally tear your head from your neck, and let all of humanity shit in the cavity it leaves behind,' he threatened. `Leave Chris alone, Abaddon, leave him alone,' he yelled. `Wasn't it bad enough that you killed Chrysanthos and drove Alexandros insane with loss for decades? So now you want to do it again,' he asked. Abaddon didn't reply, but the echo of his raucous cruel laugh echoed in Michael's mind. "Michael dammit, what is wrong with you," Chris shouted, breaking the link between the two brothers. "What is it," he asked and giving himself a mental shake. "I've been talking to you and you have just been staring off into space," he said. "Is it Abaddon again, or is it Rickie?" "My brother, but its nothing, he's making his usual idle threats," he said. "Like what, is he threatening Rickie again?" "Yes, but the boy is safe, as long as he stays with us," he told him. "I don't really know how all this blood thing works, but doesn't it weaken you when he feeds on you?" "Yes some, but not enough to leave me defenseless, and that is why I have to feed directly after he feeds. I need to replenish was he drank." "Ah yes, and that brings my next question, on who did you feed," he asked, not sure that he wanted to know. "Well on a human that was handy at that moment of need," he shared and it surprised Chris that he felt a sense of jealousy, knowing that something as intimate as sharing blood was done with someone else... a complete stranger. "Do you use another man or woman?" he asked cautiously. "Why is it so important to you, who I feed off, as long as it isn't you," he snapped back, startling Chris by his abrupt anger. "It doesn't matter Mike, feed on anyone that you fucking want to feed on, because I could care less," Chris shouted back, but he really did care. They were very quiet for the longest time as they drove along. The sun was just changing the horizon to a lovely shade of pink, and Chris realized that day would soon be upon them. His thoughts went to Rickie, and his safety. "I'm fine with the sunlight, its Rickie that we need to protect until he has a chance to grow in his new life," Michael said, having read Chris' mind. "Rickie, right," he simply replied. Chris was growing fond of the intimacy of communicating with Michael with their minds. Not only did he like the sound of his voice as it touched the inner recesses of his mind, but it seemed to reach beyond his mind, deeper still, and touch his soul. `I am sorry you know for shouting at you,' he suddenly heard, and Chris' heart seemed to leap within his chest. `You're forgiven Mike,' he replied and again it fell silent for what seemed hours. Now it was Chris who decided to open the pathway to Michael's thoughts, and was shocked by what he saw. `I am not that man your brother says I am,' he shouted out loud, surprising Michael that he was able to enter his mind without being invited. `I am not this Chrysanthos, I'm not,' he added. Michael was taken back by the sudden intrusion by Chris into his mind. After all, they had not shared blood together, so why was Chris able to enter, Michael wondered. It was only through a blood link that two people could telepathically communicate, so it had Michael baffled. Michael has suspected that Chris was maybe a descendant of this Chrysanthos, because they shared the same surname, but Chrysanthos lived over two thousand years ago. Besides, Nomikos was a very common name in Greece. Still it plagued him, but at the same time, it elated him, that the man that was stealing his heart could do so. `I never said that you were Chrysanthos, its Abaddon says you are so...' Then it hit him, he had never said this to Chris, so where did he get that information from if not him? Abaddon! `Now where did you ever get that idea that Abaddon thought you were,' he asked cautiously. `You know Mike, its bad enough that I have to tolerate you being in my mind, now I have Abaddon there also,' he mentally shouted, ignoring Michael's question. Again, Abaddon's laughter rang loud and clear in Michael's mind, taunting him. "He knows that you are with me, so he's going to use you to get to me. We are almost home and I will show you how to guard your mind from unwanted intrusion,' he assured Chris; Chris nodded and turned the car unto his street. `Will it also keep you out of my mind?' *** Michael taught Chris and Rickie how to guard their minds from intruders and after Chris assigned sleeping arrangements, giving the guest room to Rickie and Brian and Michael opting to go to his lair. Chris went to bed and lay there thinking about all that had happened over the last twenty-four hours, finding it all so hard to believe. He had met a man that was sinfully handsome and who was sexually, as well as emotionally, attracted to him. A man that just happened to be a vampire, sorry Lamia, he found himself correcting his thought. After all, he had been attracted sexually to a number of men throughout his life, and Michael just happened to be the latest, so why did he feel jealous when Michael told him that he fed on any available human when in need? He had never once, in all of his sexually active years, had he ever felt the least bit jealous of anyone. `Because you are falling in love with me, as I am with you,' Michael whispered in Chris' mind, causing him to sit up in bed and look around the blind darkened room. `Beckon me to come to you, my darling,' he asked. `Come,' he simply replied, feeling the longing for Michael, and his touch, strong. Chris looked over that the closed and locked balcony door, a tall, broad shouldered figure was silhouetted against the glass pains, and the sun's light illuminating his shape, clearly. `I am here, my love, come and open the door for me,' Michael whispered. Chris rose from the bed and hurried over to the door, unlocked it and flung it open, rushing into the arms that waited for him. He looked up into his eyes and froze, for this was not Michael, but Abaddon. `Come my love, let me take you away and share with me, your blood,' Abaddon laughed, making sure that it echoed all the way to where Michael lay resting. Chris' body went limp and fell into Abaddon's arms. He turned, he needed all of his remaining strength to not only shape shift to his hawk form, but to change Chris as well into something that he could carry, so that he could transport Chris back to his lair. Michael's eyes instantly opened the moment that Chris lost consciousness, pain and anguish tearing at his heart. `Nooooo,' he mentally screamed, flying from the earth with vengeance in his heart and out into the daylight as a great eagle. `How foolish of me think that my brother's wounds would stop him from seeking vengeance before he was fully healed,' he thought as he linked his mind with Chris', following him to his brother's lair. `A mistake I can wager that you won't make again, brother dear,' he mused and Chris regained his consciousness. `Michael...help me,' he heard when the link was made to Michael. `Oh no you don't, you are not using him to gain access to me,' Abaddon yelled, still struggling with his weakness and trying to maintain a mind block around Chris by putting him into a deep sleep again. He could feel that his strength was ebbing, for he was wounded and it was daylight, a time when all Lamia and vampires were naturally at the most weakest. Then he thought, so would his brother's strength be, even though he was not wounded as badly, the sun's light would weaken him also. To be continued...
