Robbie you look a lot happier than last evening son. Yeah gunny I got concerned about some things about everything that's going on but I'm good now. Well if you ever have questions and don't know who to go to you just come see me. In my many years I have probably ran across the same or similar things you might need to talk about. I do have one concern you can help with What's that son I've never fired a gun before We will change that. In a way it makes it easier to teach you because you haven't had the chance to develop bad habits yet. But before we begin just remember I'm not treating you like a child, I'll start at the beginning with the most simple and work up. Can we start a little early? I don't want to look like an idiot in front of all these guys. Gunny looked at me and I just nodded for him to go ahead. Gunny started with. Son I need you to listen and understand this above anything else you ever do. These are not toys and he pulled his own .45 out and held it up. Now is it loaded or not. Knowing you gunny it's loaded. As a matter of fact it is. And rule number 1 you never assume anything. You always check for yourself. Assuming means "makes an ass out of you and me" understand? Always consider a weapon is loaded until you know different. Ok I understand that. Now the way you check is eject the magazine and pull the slide all the way back. If there is a round in the chamber most of the time it will eject itself but at least you will be able to see if there is a round there. You never, never hand a loaded weapon to anyone without telling them and knowing they understand. Now lean over here and look down the barrel see? Nothing there. I see I thought if the magazine was out it was ok That is true with most newer semi-automatics but not all. So double check anyway. Gunny removed the bullets from the magazine and set them on the table put the magazine back in and handed the gun to Robbie. Here take this and show me how you would check. Robbie took gunny's gun and ejected the magazine and pulled the slide back and looked down the barrel. It's clear gunny Good now put the magazine back in and see how everything feels. Robbie put the magazine back in and was moving the gun around to see how it felt except he had his finger on the trigger. And as soon as gunny saw he yelled STOP! Robbie froze like he was in trouble. Son time for rule number 2. Never, never, never put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Here let me show you. Robbie handed the gun back and gunny showed him how to hold it properly with his trigger finger along the bottom of the slide. Now you do it. Robbie's fingers are pretty long so he had no problem doing it and gunny told him. See now that is proper. Can I see what it's like to pull the trigger? Robbie asked. Sure but eject the magazine. And gunny pulled another mag from his pocket that had bright yellow bullets in it. These son are dry fires. They are made for practice. There's no gun powder or an actual bullet in them. They just cushion and keep the firing pin from going too far and damaging it. About that time Todd came out with a cup of coffee and saw what was going on. Having class already gunny? Yes, the boy has never fired a gun before and teaching him the basics. Now Robbie pull the slide back and put one in the chamber. Robbie pulled back the slide and started to ease it forward. Todd saw this and stood up here let me help. He was taller than Robbie and came up behind him and put his arms around alongside of Robbie's. Let the slide do the work by itself, that's what it is supposed to do. Robbie let go of the slide and it slammed one of the dry fires in. Now you are loaded and ready. Much to gunny's surprise Robbie pointed the gun out towards the back where no one was and more jerked than pulled the trigger. You could hear the firing pin hit the round with just a bit of a crack. Todd told him don't jerk the trigger just squeeze it nice and easy. Let me have the gun and then put your hand around mine and feel how I do it. Gunny slightly turned and gave me a slight smile. He liked what he was seeing. Todd then told Robbie now you do it. Use your thumb to pull the hammer back and remember gentle steady pressure. Robbie did and fired again this time you could see he was more steady. Todd patted him on the back and said that's how you do it slow and easy each time and you will get used to going fast but with the same gentleness. Todd said you're on your own for now, my coffee is getting cold. And went and sat back down. Robbie fired a few more times and gave gunny back his gun but only after he ejected the mag and removing the dry fire and left the slide locked back. Good job gunny told him. Todd it looked like you had done that before. Yeah I taught my kid brother to shoot. But would it be possible to get some blanks for Robbie to practice with. That way he will get used to the sound and recoil without the danger of destroying anything or accidentally hitting anyone. Gunny said normally I would say no. But with short time and few weapons right now it may be a good idea. But first rule number 3 you NEVER point a weapon at anything you are not willing to kill or destroy. You got that. Yes sir Robbie told him. The rest of the guys were coming out and drinking coffee, and basically waking up. They noticed gunny's weapon on the table but didn't say anything. Todd would you be interested in taking Robbie here under your wing so to speak and teach him how to shoot and I want you to stress safety along the way also because until this morning he had never held a weapon before. If its ok with both of you. And I will see about getting some blanks. Todd said sure Robbie said that is cool with me. While all of us were having breakfast Pattie got hers also and came out to eat with us. Jay is there any gas for the grill over there at your place? Yes and I have an extra tank also why? I was thinking about ribs for supper tonight Sounds like a good idea to me Pattie stood up and asked. Guys what do you think about smoked ribs, coleslaw, potato salad, mac and cheese, and garlic bread for supper tonight? The answer was a resounding alriiiiigggghhhhtttt. She then says I can't make them. I need Jay's grill that's at his place Two guys got up from their plates went over to my house and got the grill and extra tank of gas. I said very manipulative are you. Remember I had to train Ben too. I know how to get things done. Ok so I guess I need to pick up a larger grill then It might help. After everyone finished up their breakfast. I said guys time to take that walk and show you around. Before we started I showed them where the main house is going to be. And we started going down the fence line. The fence company had left a gap in the fence for the gates. I explained to them about the gates and the kind of cameras that would be installed. I also told them there is also another gate that will be one the other side. Several noticed the trees that had been knocked down for the fence and some comments were made that they would be useful. What do you mean I asked Not only could they be used to make a few bunkers for the OH SHIT time if it occurs. But also for a bit of an obstacle course if its ok with you. Its ok with me just try and leave as much of the woods as you can. We continued our walk and we came to the place where I found Robbie on the dozer that day. Robbie nudged me and laughing said remember this place I guess I turned red and said yes I remember it well Gunny asked what happened out here Still red I said Robbie showed me a new use for a dozer I have never thought of. And that's all I'm going to say. Gunny shaking his head, I think I understand. Robbie laughingly said you should try it sometime gunny. No I don't think so son. And I'm not sure that I even know what you're talking about. But I have an idea. The rest of the guys looked puzzled but we continued our walk and they saw where the next opening in the fence would be. We got up to where the Kenworth was parked and Billy said Dammmm would you look at that. Now that's hot. I bought that Billy before all this started. Now I don't know how much use its going to get. Most of my plans got changed. Could I take a look in it Sure it's open I think the keys are even in it. Billy got up in the truck, wow you have everything in here What can I say I like my comfort. Can I ask what this cost Truck and trailer both were close to $170,000 Sure beats the hell out of what I drove in the Marines Almost anything would I think What's this other lever here for that looks like a brake valve It's for the retarder You got a Jake and a retarder Yes you have to order them that way. Well guys we have things to do. I need 3 of you to take a ride this afternoon to the furniture store. Unless you guys want to eat outside in the rain. Jason, Tommy, and Todd quickly volunteered. I asked Robbie to go get one of our cops to go also and get the keys to the pickups. Can I go too Robbie asked I was hoping you would Robbie actually took off running towards the house Some of the guys said dam he's fast I told them he was a high school football and baseball player and so are most of his friends that did the work around here. They are used to working together. Why don't you hire a few of them for extra security? They are only 18 and 19 for some of them. They would only be good for here for the next few years. Gunny spoke up and said Jay they could have shotguns and rifles. Might be a good idea and they could also do shifts and you wouldn't need any more housing. Gunny how about we talk about this this evening and also see what Robbie thinks since he knows these kids better than we do. After dinner then Sounds good. We went and got the tables and got back and put them together. We also talked Saturday night about having a few of Robbie's friends do security. Robbie wasn't sure about that. He said too many were practical jokers. We all agreed to see how they worked this week with others around and gunny would talk to any he thought might work. Sunday gunny had the guys to himself and was putting through their paces. So far so good. I also called Mrs. Mabel and informed her of the concrete work being done Monday and asked her to park where the rest of the cars were but not to block the suburban's in. I also told Pattie during dinner. Monday all of us except for Robbie went to the Police Station to get the carry permits taken care of. The chief issued them all temporary permits as the permanent ones have to be issued by the Department of Agriculture. After that was done I had a 1 on 1 with the chief. I told gunny to take any of the guys back who didn't want to change banks to the house and I would be back after I and whoever else was done with business at the bank. In the Chief's office What's wrong Jay? I said there is a problem with one of your officers. And because of things he has said and done I don't want him back on my property. Who? Trent Jones Jones? I thought you two got along real good. We did. Until the last couple of weeks. But he has made statements about things he should keep his mouth shut about not only to me, but to his own boyfriend, and Friday made some really bad remarks to Robbie after we got back from Tampa. To the point he had Robbie of the opinion that he was no longer wanted and I was getting rid of him. The kid was so upset it took over an hour to convince him that Trent was all wrong. And since Gunny Williams has known Trent for a long time he even had a talk with him before his shift was over Friday night. And I feel if he is doing this now what's he going to come up with in the future. I see I will check to see when he is scheduled back and see if I can get a replacement. Gunny and I talked about that. And since we do have a few arms at the house we decided if it was ok with you if only 1 man was available we could team him with one of ours. Personally I would rather not do that if possible. I don't like mixing law enforcement and civilian even military in the same duties. How about sheriff deputies. That would be fine then. And I understand what you mean about the differences. Let me give the sheriff a call and set things up with him personally so we don't get anyone that sees what's going on and gets the wrong idea. Sure Just wait here and I'll call him right now. The chief called direct to the sheriff's office. (he had the phone on speaker) Sheriff Roberts this is Chief Callahan over in Dood City I have you on speaker phone with Mr. Johnson You might remember the situation of a few weeks ago. I may be short of men for a special duty assignment can you help me out. Aaahh yes the hostage situation. Mr. Johnson has been paying for round the clock special duty officers since. He has his own security force in the works but they aren't ready to take over yet. And to put it mildly a couple of my men seem to have lost their ability to use discretion and keep their mouths shut. So what is the big problem Well there are a couple things. We have been using 6 men a day for several weeks and I feel some are getting burnt out. Also Mr. Johnson and his partner are gay. And his security force is on site being trained by a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant so there may be at times several men running around there armed. I see. Is there any shooting going on I spoke up. No sheriff the only shooting that may go on out there would be the gunny and a former S.E.A.L. training my partner with blanks. Unless there is an incident that happens and in that case it would only be to back up your men if needed. Also there is a lot of construction going on and during the day would be sometimes a lot of people going in and out. Would you need them in cruisers? No the only time when one would be off property is if myself or my partner go somewhere and I have plenty of vehicles for that and 2 of them are armored. Would you mind if I came out personally this evening with my Captain that is in charge of special duty operations, to see exactly what is going on. This is kind of unique for what we normally do. That would be fine with me Is 7 ok That would be fine Ok I will see you then. The chief ended the call. Also Chief you may get a report of some nut buying a lot of weapons. So I'm going to tell you what I have coming. S&W is making us 20 brand new 4506's and Hi-Point is sending 20 .45 carbines. We are also buying 4 AR-15's and 4 shotguns. With plenty of spare magazines and a lot of ammo. You must be expecting something to happen. No sir but if something does I want to be prepared. Ok if I am contacted by the feds or anyone else I'll explain what is going on. Oh and chief, I haven't received a bill for any of the special duty. How often do they do that. Every two weeks you may have been caught between billing cycles so don't worry about it a bill will show up sooner or later. I'm sure it will I just want to make sure these guys get paid for all the time they have put in. Anything else No that is all I have Ok I have to go see my banker I got outside and found all the guys were still there and gunny was outside one of the cars waiting on me. Seems they all decided to bank where I did. When we got to the bank I asked to see Mrs. Corrigan. Oh Mr. Johnson so nice to see you again but what is all of this? These men are employed by me and would like to open accounts at your bank Oh my. She walked over to them and said welcome gentlemen I have been taken by surprise. Let me get some more people to take care of you while I discuss a few things with Mr. Johnson. And we walked back into her office and she called the other officers and told them there were 8 or 9 new customers in the lobby that needed help. Now sir let's get down to what is happening with your account. Before you tell me about every large purchase I have made let me explain what has been happening. Ok You knew I bought the property to build the house on and purchased a nice manufactured home to live in until its done correct? Yes And I purchased a couple of new vehicles correct? Yes Now I am going to tell you what else has happened that you do not know about. I laid out the whole story about what has happened since I moved to the new property. She sat there with her hands over her mouth and was stunned. Oh my I didn't know. Well I figured the less people who know about my business the better and since I am not borrowing money and spending my own I figure it's no one's business but my own. And if the bank is not happy with how I spend my own money I will be more than happy to do business with another bank. And I agree with you. At first I thought someone had duplicated your checks and upon investigating I found they were all different checks and charges. So we are good then Yes we are, in fact what you have in your interest plus checking, the interest has made more money than you have spent. I would encourage you to take some of your money from regular savings and put it in Cd's or somewhere it would earn you more money. I doubt I will ever run out but to calm your nerves go ahead and put 30 Million in to Cd's. also do you also do payroll services. On a small scale yes. Ok I need to set up a payroll account for like 20 employees We can do that for you. Let me give you the paperwork for the employees to fill out and there is a part for you to fill out also. Also what name on the payroll account Johnson Incorporated I will need a copy of your articles of Incorporation to open the account. My lawyer is still working on them as well as several other things. Bring me a copy as soon as you get them And just so you know there will be several large checks written in the next couple of months until everything gets in place then things will slow down Ok sir I'm so glad that you told me what is going on and if anything really strange comes in may I contact you on your phone before paying them. Of course you can. But just to let you know I will be doing some traveling in about a month so charges from strange areas will start showing up, I will use my credit card for that but depending on what it is I may also use my debit. If there is nothing else I will start helping your men with accounts Ok I will send one in. I went out and told whoever wanted to go next Mrs. Corrigan could take them. I sat down and called Pattie and asked how her and Mrs. Mabel was getting along. She told me they were fine and she was getting ready to go home and whispered I can't keep up with this old lady she is fast. Now you know why I hired her. Tell her we should be home in about an hour. Ok I will Officer Sanchez came over and asked. Mr. Johnson do you know how much longer we will be here. Not sure I am hoping to be back at the house in an hour. Is there a problem? Well sir I have a wife that's pretty picky about dinner time and I was supposed to be off duty almost an hour ago. I laughed. I understand I turned to gunny and asked do you know how to get to my place from here Not really Jay Ok I asked who has already done their banking. 5 were done. Ok then Officer Sanchez take these 5 back to the house and you can go home the. Tell your wife it's my fault if you're late. But sir, security Gunny is armed and I doubt in the 10 miles to the house there will be any problem and the car is armored. Ok sir I'll let the officers on duty know. He got the 5 guys and left. Gunny then said to me. I got a call from my guy at S&W you will need to wire or Fed ex them a check. Ok I just need the amount Well the weapons and spare mags are $9000 and 2 day shipping is 150 and next day is 250 Are they done? They will be done test fired and ready to ship Wednesday Ok next day that way they will be here for the weekend. My checkbook is at the house remind me when we get there. Sure will. How about the others Hi-Point has them in stock Mags too? All of it How much 340 each and 20 per mag Ok that works The AR's are Sig Sauer same thing FBI uses 785 each and mags are 20 each and it all is in stock Good I know they can't ship direct to us how are we going to do this I know a guy locally that can do all the paperwork for 20 bucks per weapon I have checked and he will do it for us Good tell him to start expecting them I guess Thursday or Friday. And I need his address and the address and shipping rates for the rest of the companies. Give me your fax number and I will call them and have them fax you all the info and an invoice and proper addresses In a little while the last man was done and we got going headed back to the house. On the way one of the guys said I hope Pattie has dinner ready, I'm starved. I said Pattie isn't there. Don't tell me we have to cook for ourselves, most of us would starve I asked if anyone else paid attention Friday That's right the regular cook is there now And you guys be nice to her I think this will be her first time with heathens and she has my permission to turn every one of you over her knee if you act up We pulled in and I parked by the team house and to my surprise Robbie and the rest of the guys were out there talking. I walked in the house and oh my the smells Mabel was at the stove stirring something and humming a tune while she worked. Mrs. Mabel it smells wonderful Oh Mr. Jay you're back Yes it took longer than I thought Dinner will be ready in about 20 minutes It smells great what are we having I made 15 pounds of smothered pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn , green beans, and both corn bread and rolls. And you tell them boys out there if they don't finish their plates then no peach cobbler for them. You're gonna spoil them Well you have to spoil young boys sometimes I'll be outside you let us know when you are ready for the stampede You just go on and relax I can handle them I got outside and said sorry guys about no lunch but I think Mrs. Mabel has made up for it. And a message from her. She said tell them boys out there if they don't finish their plates they don't get no peach cobbler They all laughed Robbie said did she really say that Leave something on your plate and find out. Well Mabel out did herself I don't think anyone's plate would have been cleaner if they had set them down for a pack of dogs to lick. I thought Robbie was going to lick his clean. I guess he wanted to make sure he got some peach cobbler. Mrs. Mabel said how is it boys And the remarks started Nothing like this in the Army Marines either They came close in the Navy but still no match She then told them there was a clip board over on the wall if they had requests. I'll try to do them but I'm not a fancy cook. After I got done eating I went over to the house and checked for any messages and to see if anything was on the fax machine yet. The fax machine had several pages on it and I started looking. I saw 3 pages from S & K Arms It had his shipping info and a copy of his Federal Firearms License to send to all the companies for the weapons. Also there were invoices from S&W, Hi-Point, and Sig-Sauer. I made 3 copies of S&K's license and added their shipping information and the invoices for my records and wrote checks out to the 3 companies and paper clipped each one together. And made a mental note to get to the Fed ex office first thing in the morning. It was almost 7 already so I went back over to the team house to wait on the sheriff. I just started to sit down when I saw the Sheriff pull in. The officer on duty motioned over to the team house and gunny and I went down to meet them. Both men got out I stuck out my hand and said hello I am Jay Johnson and this is Gunnery Sergeant Jim Williams. I'm Sheriff Roberts and this is Captain Hanks who is in charge of special duty assignments. After all of us shook hands I asked would you like the quick tour? Hanks said sure. I can give a better picture to the men about what is going on. I said first these two homes are for the security team which there are 8 at the present time. The house on the right is where my cook works and where your men can get coffee and other drinks and food. When the cook is off duty there will be plenty of things to make sandwiches and snack on. The house on the left is where the rest of the men sleep. The house behind you is mine and my partner's home. Let's take a walk. I showed them where the garage is being built and where my permanent house would eventually be. And also pointed out the east drive and which vehicles belong to me and the ones we would be using on local trips. I also explained about the fence which is not yet completed. Sheriff Roberts spoke up and said looks like it will be pretty impressive when it gets done. Yes sir and as soon as my home gets finished we are going to be starting on a more permanent housing for the men and other workers that will be here. Beside my house on the hill there will be a 20 room motel type structure instead of these two houses. You know how the storms roll in. Also a stand by generator capable of running the whole place for two weeks if needed. And these 2 houses here and possibly the other one will be donated to charity. Captain Hanks asked could we get something to drink I said sure let's go back up on the deck and we can talk more. We pulled one of the tables over away from the others and I asked what would you like. They both decided on a soda which surprised me so I went in and got them and came back out. Roberts asked, so how many deputies will you need and for how long I will need 2 at a time 24 hours a day for at least the next few weeks. Now you know why the Dood City Police are getting a bit burnt out. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. As you know our department is like 10 times bigger than theirs so we shouldn't have that problem. I know and I'm glad Chief Callahan suggested you. I volunteered one of my men and one of his if he had trouble with availability but he had good reasons as to why not. Yes we feel the same way. It's more a liability standpoint than anything. Just as your men will be working together mine are used to working together also. Gunny spoke up. Just so you know we will have lots of arms arriving in the next week. And also plenty of ammo. But there will be no shooting here except for training Mr. Johnson's partner and that would be with blanks. But we will inform your deputies beforehand just like we would the police officers if they are here at the time. But we do have some normal ammo in the event something happens and your men need immediate assistance. But I don't anticipate anything like that happening. Then why do you need all of this It was my turn. Sheriff no disrespect intended. But I have over 112 million in cash and that appears to be incentive enough for some to risk being stupid. And if your home was broken into and your family tied up and threatened wouldn't you do what you felt was necessary to protect them? You see that old jeep over there Yes That is what I was driving until 2 months ago. And you see even my new vehicles really aren't flashy. But the day after I bought the first Tahoe I was car jacked. You see what I am wearing, this is how I dress most of the time. I don't bother people and don't want to be bothered, but if someone pushes the issue they take their chances. I see your point I don't think you do. You see my house behind you, I was here a month before 4 criminals broke in 3 did not leave alive. I'm not bitter but it will not happen again. I don't go out looking for trouble and I know the law can't be everywhere so this is the next logical choice. I'm beginning to understand more. I'm glad. Chief Callahan has been involved since the beginning and was the one to suggest the use of private security. You see those men behind us Yes They are all recently with in the last month honorably discharged 1 of them is actually still on active duty using up his terminal leave time before he can be discharged. So they are not mercenaries. These men were also all special forces. Also they have all been issued conceal carry permits with all the requirements required by the state. And I have one myself also. When would you like us to start Captain Hanks asked. Wednesday or Thursday I will have to speak to Chief Callahan to see what he already has scheduled. Ok here is my card with my office number. Let me know when you know and I will have deputies here to take over. That sounds good to me. Do either of you have any questions? The Sheriff said just to be curious what kind of arms do you plan on having out here. Gunny spoke up. We have brand new Smith & Wesson 4506's .45 carbines and several AR-15's and a few shotguns on their way. How the hell did you get new 4506's? I had one when I first started but they haven't been made in 20 years. I know someone at Smith I guess you do. I wish we still had them. You might be able to but you have to order at least 20 for them to make even 1 That's a lot of firepower I hope you never have to use it Same here I said but at one time I was a boy scout Both of them laughed Well I think we have everything covered we look forward to working with you and let Hanks know when we need to be here. Thank You Sheriff I appreciate the help After they left I asked what do you think gunny Well for a while I wasn't sure if he would work with us but it must have been your speech. Was I that bad Not really but I think it got the point made and that's what counts. And if they ever have to come out here for some reason you can be dammed sure they will be respectful. That's is all I ask. The same respect that I give others. What do you have planned for the guys tomorrow. I think before breakfast I'm going to take the boys for a run. 4 or 5 laps around the fence line I think would be a good beginning. I can promise I won't be there Well then I will see you at breakfast Ok good night gunny. I'm going over to check messages and relax. I got to the house and Robbie was on the couch watching TV. How was your day today baby Busy we got the limbs off of about all the trees and got them pulled up in a pile close to where the Kenworth is parked. Wow you guys got a lot done today But I fucked up Why, what happened, did anyone get hurt? No one got hurt. Tommy hooked up a tree that fell in a bad spot and as I went to pull it out I forgot the blade was down and tore up some of the asphalt back in the back. I was watching the tree so it wouldn't get caught instead of where I was going. Did you get the fence? No but I fucked up the road pretty good You try to fix it No because I wasn't sure how to do it without messing it up worse. I'm sorry Jay. What are you sorry for? Shit happens, no one got hurt, you didn't tear the fence down. And you told me the first chance you really got. Look babe you don't have that much experience, this is learning. You just learned to check your blade before you move next time. We will go look at it in the morning and see what we can do. How did your day go. Well the police officers are being replaced with sheriff deputies. That's why the sheriff was out here. It was a manpower thing. And I found out I haven't spent any money in the last couple months. How is that with everything you bought and I know what you spent on me already. And the trucks and the houses. I had to explain to him how interest works. And the money I have in the bank was earning more in interest than what I am spending. WOW I knew you had a lot but dam. Yes I have a lot. We went to bed and just cuddled that night the next morning we were up at the end of gunny's run. We got up and made some coffee so we could have a cup before going to the team house for breakfast. I had Robbie get his keys for his Jeep we would just take it around the fence. Why the Jeep Jay In case we run into any hole it's 4WD it will climb out of them Asshole! I didn't fuck up that bad Babe I'm just messin with ya We had breakfast and I told Robbie to get the jeep I also asked Jack to come with us. What's going on Jay We have a little screw up back here and I might need ideas We got in the Jeep when Robbie got there and drove back to where the problem was. It looked better than I imagined. He had only messed up about 3 feet of asphalt. Jack said I'll bring our loader back and smooth it out, might take 5 minutes. Good it doesn't look bad at all. How much asphalt is down here anyway 2 inches I said That will never last. With where the fence is it doesn't give you much room to drive without going off the edge. What do you suggest I would wait until you got all the trees out that you are taking out then use a smaller dozer to cut down next to the road a few inches. And then use a roller to pack it. Then put another 2 inches on top of what's left and make it 3 feet wider all the way around. Then build up the sides and pack it down with the roller. So I didn't mess up that bad? Robbie asked No you didn't just be more careful in the future I thought I was in big trouble. Let's go back to the house I have real problems to take care of. When we got back, Jack went back to do his work and smooth out the screw up. I told Robbie to go ahead and keep pulling the downed trees up here but please be careful. And I went in the house to check messages and make some calls. When checking messages I found 5 calls 1 was from Jim my attorney letting me know both the articles of Incorporation were ready to be signed and the attorney working on my USDOT and IFTA had all that done and needed papers signed and it was all at his office. Three more were from my ad so I wrote their names and numbers down to call them back. The last call was from Joan my accountant she needed to talk to me about a few things. I first called Chief Callahan to tell him the Sheriff was on board and asked how far he had men scheduled for. I have them scheduled through Wednesday When would the sheriff need to take over 8 am Thursday morning would be fine. I didn't think you wanted to change things in the middle of the night. Thank you chief I appreciate it and all the help you and your guys have been. I'll have a few more names to have checked out soon. As I am also learning what the limits to man power are myself. Well let me know their information when you get it and if you need extra officers in the future for a day or two you just let me know I will chief and I will get those names to you soon. I hung up and called my attorney. Hey Jay how's things going with you. Busy, busy Jim when would be good for you to sign all those papers. I am here in the office and don't have anything scheduled at all today, if you have the time. I have about an hour's worth of phone calls to make and some paperwork and checks to drop at a Fed ex then I can be down there say noon or a little before. That will be fine I'll see you then Ok bye I started making my calls First I called Capt. Hanks at the Sheriff's Dept. and asked if he could have 2 guys 24/7 starting Thursday morning at 8 am. he said it would be no problem and he would be out there also for a couple hours to make sure there was no problems. I told him thanks and would see him then. Then I started on the rest. Good morning could I speak to John Stevens please. Yes sir let me get him Stevens speaking John this is Jay Johnson with Johnson Inc. I'm returning your call about the ad you answered. Oh yes sir What branch were you in Army 10 years the last 6 with Delta Force Really? Yes sir Did you listen closely to the recording Yes I did Do you have any problem working with or around gay people. No sir I do not. I am bisexual myself. When would you be able to come to Florida all expenses paid since I have 8 men here already you would basically be doing an interview and be tested at the same time. Anytime really I was discharged 2 weeks ago, my mail finally caught up with me. Ok that's good where are you Missoula, Montana Ok let me get your full name and social security number to get a back-round check started and you can start getting ready bring what you will need for at least a month, we do have laundry facilities. I will call you back later tonight or tomorrow morning with travel arrangements. Ok sir I'll be waiting on your call. I hung up and called Tony Rhodes a S.E.A.L., Kevin Robinson a Marine force a recon guy, and Steve Zimmerman an Army Ranger. The last 3 calls pretty much went the same as the first and I got all their information and called Chief Callahan to give it to him. He said he would get started on it right away. I then went to find gunny They were on the deck taking a break. Gunny can I see you a moment Gunny came over and asked what's going on I have 4 more guys that are ready to travel What are they 1 SEAL, 1 Ranger, 1 Force Recon, and 1 Delta Force. Chief Callahan is running them now. Great news when will they be here Within a day of you telling me when, but there is a problem And that is Where they are going to sleep. I'll never get another house in here and set up in 2 days Your house is big, how many bedrooms do you have Fuck that's right I have 2 that I'm not using and they are both master suits but they aren't furnished. And they are big enough to put 2 beds in but how do we choose. Well Todd and Robbie get along good. And Billy and you have a lot in common. Tommy seems like a real laid back kid. And Brandon gets along with everyone. But we'll go ask them. Ok let me break it to them. We went over to the other guys and I started. I need your guys attention for a few minutes. They all turned towards me. We have a small problem I need your help with. What's that boss, one said. I had 4 more guys call just like you did and I can have them all here in two days so all of you can train together. Or I can string them along for a few weeks until I get another house in here so they also have a place to stay. OR I have 2 spare bedroom suites in my house. I forgot about but aren't furnished which isn't a problem. But are big enough for 2 beds each if 4 of you don't mind doubling up for a couple 2-3 weeks. Also there is a den that isn't being used if you'd like your own living room away from me and Robbie. Gunny and I have picked 4 of you but we would like to see who would volunteer first, this would only be until I can get another house in here to put across the north side of the deck. Would anyone like to volunteer. I wasn't surprised when all the hands went up. Ok thanks guys since everyone volunteered I'm going to go with who gunny and I came up with, but thank you all for understanding. Will the following men go ahead and get your things together and as soon as I make a couple calls I'll have gunny take you to get some bedroom furniture. Billy, Todd, Brandon, and Tommy. I gave gunny my credit card and went to tell Robbie. This should be interesting. I saw Jenkins and asked him if he had plans this evening. No Jay what do you need. We need to go to Tampa to see my lawyer and a little bit of running around and might not be back by 4 Its ok with me Can you get the keys to either my Tahoe or one of the Suburban's and I'll be back in a few minutes. Sure thing I found Robbie and his friend Tommy in the back pulling a few trees and motioned for him to shut it down. You've never done this what's wrong Jay Well I wanted to tell you first. But we have a small problem and 4 of the guys need to move in to our house for 2-3 weeks until I can get another house in here. Who is going to be moving in with us Billy, Todd, Brandon and Tommy Ok I like those guys. I am taking Jenkins to Tampa to see my attorney and then order another house so we won't be back till 5 or 6 at least. So you guys don't overwork yourself in this heat today and be careful. Do I get a kiss before you go Yes but no hands I don't want you getting me all dirty. Ok no hands I gave him a nice long kiss and smacked him on the butt and said I'll be back later you sexy dirty boy. His friend Tommy started laughing.
