During all of the interviews we had got together and hired a team to work as the buyers for the village as a whole. Melanie Morton was the chief buyer and pulled together a team that she would lead that had specialty areas and were thus perfect to work with the different concepts. The family had regular meetings to make sure that the stock was what they wanted the place to carry and all of us had regular meetings with the different suppliers and designers that the different stores were considering carrying. This whole process was exciting, but for me very tiring as I had not got all of my strength back yet. On a visit to the family John and Mary-Lou McKay had a tour of the Village and fell in love with the place. They promised to be at the opening. John was a car man you could tell and really interested in the different car setups that we had laid out on the dealership. As we walked through it John suddenly said, "Jared let me buy into this with you I love this layout that you have here. I'll be a sleeping partner while we are in Washington and then will step in and concentrate on the dealerships once I am free to put my time in it. "You mean dealership" I said. "No I mean dealerships as part of my offer is a 50% share in the McKay Motors that already exist in Indiana." We sat in the main office with Steven and came to an agreement that we would go into together and that an announcement would be made at the opening that the car dealership would be called McKay Exley Motors and that name would also be added to all of the six other sites that John already owned. As we walked discussing what we saw happening at the dealership CJ and Chris took off at a sprint followed by Shade who was yapping at the noise he could hear. Rolling Thunder ran with them and was shouting some sort of cry as he ran. We rounded the back of the place and by where the dumpsters were was a bundle making a lot of noise. John sensing what it was stepped forward and opened the little box. He picked up a little blue bundle that which we could tell was a baby blanket. As he uncovered the head we saw a very beautiful baby boy looking up at him. Rolling Thunder reached forward and handed a piece of paper to me. I read aloud, "Jared you may not remember me, but when you were with Davy we were your neighbours Donna and Drake, my boyfriend. I lost Drake the other week as he battled with his health and I am afraid that I will end up the same as I can no longer go on without him. I trust my darling into your care knowing that you will find him a home that will love the little one. He was born on April 15th the day after his daddy died. He was 8 weeks early as the shock of losing Drake cause me to go into labour. Since then my health gradually got worse and I am heading back to the hospice now. Please look after Webster for that is what I called him. I know I cannot look after him anymore and do not want the CPS to lose him in the system. I trust my most precious belonging into you care. Your Sister and friend ... Donna." Mary-Lou ran forward John simply handed him to her. She realised what she had done and then walked away with her head low. I stepped forward and took Webster from John. "Mary-Lou... Donna said I had to find loving parents to look after Webster. Do you think I know anyone that would make a good mommy?" She looked at me with an almost imperceptible nod, hardly believing what was happening. "I happen to think that my God-son's name sounds really good Webster McKay." She stepped forward and took him from me, "No I think his name should be Webster Drake John McKay after his two daddies. John?" "I just love it. I'll contact our attorney..." "No need..." said Gabriel, who had joined our tour of the Village. "I have just called my father Judge Knight and he is meeting us back at the offices in twenty minutes. Mary you're a notary aren't you?" "Yes I am, and I would be privileged." "We are all set he will grant full custody to you for the next 6 months I would have thought and if there are no objections in that time the adoption will become permanent. The fact that we have Donna's letter may mean he can let it become permanent immediately." We continued to walk and talk as Mary--Lou nursed the child. When we looked back she had the blanket over her shoulder and John had tears in his eye as he saw here feeding their son. "You know that he was born the same day that we lost our own little one Jared?" Andy was at my side and simply said, "So the circle is complete and the spirit has found his mother. He will be a great man sir." When we arrived at Gabe's office there was a black limo outside waiting for us and he took off at a run and fell into his father's arms. Judge Knight looked at John, "It has been a long time sir." John looked confused and then as his father and mother stepped out of the limo his father said "John this is your Uncle Calum, my baby brother that we have not seen for too many years. When we met Jared and saw what a wonderful person he was even though he is gay we had to see Calum again." "Uncle Cal? I remember you from when I was a little one. Then you stopped coming round." John hugged him and wept. Gabe took over, "When my mother died my father turned to the arms of his best friend and college roommate for support. Preston became my daddy and they have been together for twenty years." Calum stepped forward, "I understand that I have some official business to conduct. Let's go into the Foundation's office it seems rather fitting." Within minutes John and Mary-Lou were the proud parents of Webster Drake John McKay. Calum looked at me and admitted that he needed help. "Jared we had an awful case come through the court last week and as a result the father of this three year old was shot was he left the court. He was all the little boy had in life. We can find no other family. Do you know anyone that would take care of him or he will be lost in the CPS system and group homes." Mary-Lou looked at John, "John McKay do not let that that little one go into one of those group homes he needs loving parents and Grandparents to help him get over his loss." Mitch looked at his son and a silent conversation went on between them. "Is he here?" Asked the President. "Preston bring the Scamp out please." As Preston left the limo we recognised him immediately as the anchor man on the local TV station and with him was the most adorable little boy you have ever seen. CJ stepped forward and hugged him and he relaxed and just hugged him back and cried. "Well I'll be that little lad has said nothing and done nothing since his daddy died." With that he looked up and screamed "Daddy!" it just broke all of our hearts. Mary-Lou held out her arms as she crouched down to him and he let CJ go and they clung to each other and all of the grief fell out of both of them. By the time we were back at the Manor they were the proud parents of Webster Drake and Christian James McKay. Ouch another CJ what have they let themselves in for. We delayed the opening of the village as the President and his family wanted to be there to share with us the grand opening. Mary-Lou was a clothes designer before she had married and had spent many hours discussing with Marty the fashions that would go into the `Melissa Harpers World of Fashion' as Marty had called it. She even offered if there was a demand that she was willing to design special one offs if the order book became full. As it turned out the ladies of the area kept her very busy indeed and with the onsite designer Marty soon had two working for him. We were all gathered at the gallery end of the village as it was opening on two evenings. Tonight was the grand opening of the Gallery and it turned out to be a night that they would remember all of their young lives. They received rave reviews from all of the critics and it was on all of the TV stations. Ever piece that had be hung in the Gallery sold on the first night. The piece that shocked everyone was a beautiful painting of the President, First Lady and their Children. CJ had also completed a serried of portraits for them as well. Once again the Smithsonian purchased the large portrait for $300,000 and the families bought all of the other pieces. In deed both grandparents asking CJ and Chris to do studies of them with their grandchildren. They had finally received their first commission. From this night would come a steady income of commissions and sitting for different people. It soon meant we were looking for Studio space where they could meet clients. Eventually they managed to convert part of the craft store into their studio. On the second day it was less grand, but never the less at 10:00 in the morning we were at the village again. All of the stores were fully staffed and they were all ready for a very busy day. The President stepped up to the ribbon. There was silence and he addressed the crowds and cameras. It was only a small address and soon he turned and was about to cut the tape. Dirk must have seen something as he threw himself across the stage and knocked John out of the way to protect him. Only trouble was Dirk was not protected as a shot rang out and chaos pursued. The President was knocked to the floor and safe. Everyone looked around. Mike had taken out the marksman, but had only injured him so that he could be interrogated. The President scrambled to his feet, but Dirk was not moving. Then we saw red spreading across his chest. Darren raced forward, knelt then looked up at me and shook his head. Chris collapsed into Dave's arms and CJ ran to Jake and sobbed until he could sob no more. The President looked at his wife and then Martin and he reached me about the same time. What was the point? Dirk was my life. We may have only been together for a few months, but he and the kids were my life. I would give everything that I had to be with him. Now events had been taken away from me. All of the family were on their knees sobbing either with kids in their arms or like Sheila and Mary with Mason and Bobby in their arms. Barb Jr had been taken by the President's mother and together. Guards were gradually trying to move the family to one side so that I could have time alone with Dirk before the coroner arrived. The President stayed with me. I was on my knees talking to the love of my life and not feeling at all odd or out of place even though people were watching and the police were trying to get a handle on the situation. Dirk had become Paul's best friend and he was struggling to accept what had happened. Mike had taken the shooter to one of the offices and had, shall we say interrogated him. No screams were heard, but in the closed office there had been plenty. It did not take long before he was singing like a bird and the horrific truth came out. Agent Mike went back to the President. "Sir it seems that he is disgusted with everything recently. The way the entire organisation has been removed and he could not get boys. He was alone and desperate. The only one not arrested and thought if he took you out then everything would get back to how it was. It looks like the organisation has been far more reaching that any of us thought and the country truly owes CJ a debt of gratitude. I think there is also something he is not telling, but if there was he took it to his grave." He paused and thought, "With what we have put him through sir and do not ask it is best you do not know. There is no way that we have not got all of the truth from him. I believe this is the end." "Thank you. Now I need you to do a few things ... Get Martin to organise the top floor of the Aquamaine Hotel for the foreseeable future we all need to be together tonight and to be away from the public. If they need to move people tell them I am requesting it. Secondly, get Dave to get the press together for we will make an announcement soon. Call Peggy Maycroft and tell her that CJ and his family need her. Hell! Tell her America needs her. Tell her what has happened I know she will come. Tell her I'll cover all costs. I want to organise a gala evening as a tribute to celebrate Dirk's life. To share happy memories and to remember what this British family has done for America." With that Mike pulled out his phone and moved off. The President next called his father over, "Call Calum I want him at the Aquamaine and I need all of your help to get what's going through my mind organised we need something positive for these people to help them remember Dirk in a good way. Peggy Maycroft will be here soon I hope and we will need to pull in all of the favours that we have to get this family through this." Mitch walked off and told Mary-Lou. Suddenly everyone was calling people and cashing in favours. As Mike was put through to Peggy she was absolutely devastated by the news and promised that she would be on the next flight as she was in Italy performing at La Scala. When Mike apologised she told him not to have another thought as CJ means more to her than anything else ever could. She could never have children and he had always been a son to her. There had only ever been one other like him and he was all grown with his own family now. Lord Aquamaine would always be her family. When she heard the Presidents idea about a Celebration of Dirk's life she thought it was a fantastic idea and promised to contact others who would want to help CJ. He went to report all of this to the President just as Martin was reporting to him. When the Aquamaine Hotel heard they immediately freed the Presidential Floor and the next just in case others started to arrive. Martin called them back and booked the Kirkowen conference room so that they had space to discuss the Tribute to Dirk without the family knowing anything about it. The President wanted all of the funds from the Gala evening to go to create a foundation which supported youth who wanted to become vets. This he would discuss and get Calum on to it. He thought maybe calling it the `Dirk Exley- Gibson scholarship for veterinary excellence'. The coroner had arrived and we were given space to be with him one last time before he was taken away. It was Cody that came to me and as he lifted me away from my Dirk, Jake lifted Dirk on to the stretcher and kissed his cheek goodbye. The family gathered around and one by one they said their goodbyes, including the little ones who just clung to him. I leant down and gently kissed him on the lips. I looked up and there stood Steven, "Why!!!" I screamed "Why, can't people just leave us alone?" I sank to the floor and just rocked backward and forward asking why over and over again. The children were all in shock. Poor Chris had to be sedated as it was the last connection that he had to his family. Rolling Thunder and Agent Wilson secured the area and all of the Secret Agents and security closed the village and sent the staff home stating that they would be contacted after a period of mourning and that they would be told when the funeral would be in case they wanted to attend. The President organised everything. Rolling Thunder carried me to the Limo and we were soon on the Presidential Floor of Aquamaine. I was a complete basket case and Rolling Thunder called on his friend the Shaman again and was surprised when all of the clan that was in the area arrived in ceremonial robes to stand watch and guide the family through the night. What I assume was the whole clan sat and watched over our family as we grieved our fallen one. Rolling Thunder had changed into his ceremonial warrior's loin cloth and performed some type of dance to prepare the dead for the happy hunting ground. Well that was the simplified version and I could understand that. As I slept Dirk came to me with my Spirit brother and told me to carry on with my life and that he would always with me. He also told me that he knew there was one there that loved me like he did and he gave me his blessing. Although Rolling Thunder would fill a gap there was someone destined to be with me until old age and we would both need each other. Each of the family woke the next day with some members of the clan guarding them as they slept, also standing guard on all entrances. They were all in their ceremonial outfits. As they watched, every one of us slept and the sleep was a healing sleep. A sleep that helped us recover. I learnt later that the President had slept in a chair in my room so that I had someone if it was needed. When the sun rose I was awake in a shot and went from bedroom to bedroom making sure everyone was Ok. It was when I approached CJ and Chris' room that I heard voices. "Peggy what if dad doesn't want us around now since Dirk has gone?" "I do not think for one moment that he is like that little one. I think he is a daddy that even at this moment will be going from room to room worried about others and not thinking of himself. Remember that you have Chris. Daddy now is all alone again and he has said goodbye now to two lovers. All he wants in life is happiness. You know that he has never had that in the past." "I hadn't thought of it like that Peggy." "Peggy can we call you mom? ... Aunty Barb used to let us, but she is gone as well." "Oh sweetheart I have always been your mom and we both know it. I'm just your boyfriend's mom as well now. My other son that has always called me mom will be playing for you soon as well." The two of them did not say anything and then CJ asked, "How did you know?" "I didn't, but now I do and at least you both have someone special. Imagine what it would be like to lose them. Then you will know a little about how your Papa is feeling." I decided to walk in at that point. "Morning Peggy, I see you have the terrible two with you. When did you get here and how did you find out?" "Mr President called and told me to get me ass over here and quick because a little one and his brother needed me. We got in about midnight last night, but then had a meeting with the president. I do not want you to get mad at me, but I want to run an idea passed you to see what you think." "Ok and yes I think it would be a great idea. Dirk told me last night when he said goodbye." Peggy looked lost and so did CJ, but it was obvious that Chris knew. "Let me explain ever since I was shot myself, last time, and we were all given these." I pointed to my talisman. "We were promised the protection of Rolling Thunders clan. They were here last night as you can see and as I dreamed the spirits of the clan helped heal my spirit and I believe Chris as well." He nodded. "If I know him he will be in here any second having found my room empty. He will also be in full ceremonial outfit so Peggy close your eyes." Suddenly he ran into the room and looked embarrassed. "I am sorry I should have known that you would be with Balik and Running Deer." "Rolling Thunder don't be sorry it is nice to know that you have guarded us through the night. Balik and Running Deer...?" "Yes my friend the clan has adopted the boys into the clan and it is your brother that named them and also named you." "Dare I ask what my name is? Also what does Balik mean?" "Seeking Peace, for you have made a great difference in many people's lives. Balik is a great honour as it means `Mighty Warrior' and Madam Peggy is `Weeping Mother' a name with great blessings. Come you should prepare for the day." "I have been told. I will see you all later when Thunder has some clothes on." "You do not like my dress?" "I'll tell you in my room." "When we reached my room I was suddenly very shy and embarrassed. "You know that Dirk came to me last night?" "I do." "You know he told me that we would be good for each other for a short time." "Yes." "Very sure of your self aren't you?" "Yes." He was now naked and ready to put his clothes on but sensed that I was struggling to remove everything as my side still pained me from time to time. He stepped up behind me and just held me as I removed the last of my clothes. For an Indian he was hairy for I had always heard that Indians were smooth. I was please as I loved a hairy man to nestle into. He pulled me into him and he just stood there holding me; his nine inch cock pressing against me demanding entry. I do not know what over took me but soon I was on my back and he was making love to me. He was just like Dirk. Slow and gentle. Why was I doing this? What would every one think of me? Would they think that I was a whore, having him so soon after Dirk? We had discussed this the night before and he told me that he wanted me to move one and have a life and that Rolling Thunder would be good for me, but not the one. God it felt so good, but it was the only time that we would be together. It was about one hour thirty minutes or so until we were ready and when we surfaced there was Agent Wilson stood guarding so no one would enter. There was also a warrior from the clan and they were clearly taken with each other. "Go use the bathroom if you must." The warrior worked for Jake and would become Wilson's new working partner as Andy would now be with me at all times as my guard. This time we guarded the doors for them and they soon exited with huge smiles on their faces. "Tis good Growling Bear. Welcome to the family." He just grinned and went to dress as ceremonial robes were no longer required. As we stood there talking while he dressed CJ knocked and entered. He looked at Wilson and then at Growling Bear and said "It's about bloody time you two did it! I've been watching you two dance the dance of lust since last night. Kyle you are now employed by me and work as Wilson's partner. Mike and Dave are my contingent you are employed to work with Dad and whoever his partner may turn out to be. Dad, do not let the rest of the family know about Andy yet. You have to be seen to grieve. I personally think it's great that you have for now. Let the others get used to seeing you together. He is also a little bit of a hunk. I know if you move on so soon Chris will..." "No he won't Dirk visited me last night and I know Rolling Thunder has a special place at the moment that will help dad heal. Sorry thunder it is not permanent, there is someone else for him. That's what the Indian guide with Dad said. He also said he was dad's brother. Go for it guys I love you Papa." When we entered the main area it was obvious that Peggy had really pulled a few strings as there were names from all over the entertainment world, including Lord Aquamaine who had not performed in years. They were all talking about what they wanted. As I walked in I simply said, "It has to be a benefit in aid of `Throw Away' kids. Dirk was one himself and always placed others first that's why I loved him. Little Kis was throw away, so was CJ, so was I ... It is a theme in our family. By the time the morning was drawing to an end a very distinguished gentleman arrived. "Christopher it's so good of you to come down at such short notice. Everyone this is Christopher Watkins the owner of the Palladium and we have already have tickets on sale for the Gala Tribute evening." Mitch hugged him, but what seemed strange was they kissed lightly on the lips. I looked at the president's mother and she simply nodded to me that she knew then looked at John and shook her head. The President stepped forward, "Uncle Chris it is so good to have you join us. Come meet the family." After introductions it was decided that Preston would host the evening as the Master of Ceremonies, but that he would be assisted by Uncle Chris' leading man at the theatre, Charlton Hummel. I was pretty taken by him, but he seemed to be attached to Martin. CJ looked at them both and said what we were all thinking, "Will you two get a room!" Soon everyone knew their jobs and we had four days to get it organised as it was to be on Saturday evening with the funeral on the Sunday. We were all taken totally by surprise by the outpouring of love over the next few days as dignitaries from all over the world came to pay their respects to my Dirk that now lay in the chapel of rest. Two of the dignitaries that surprised me were King David of Chrysland and King Myles of Lizondia. With then were Prince Steven, Myles' eldest son and Lady Annabelle Bravender the daughter of Lord Aquamaine. It was rumoured that there maybe wedding bells soon. The Clan refused to leave his coffin while his earthly remains were still unburied and warriors stood guard over his body day and night as did Jake's men. When Saturday came more people had passed through the chapel of rest to view Dirk than had seem Barb. He was famous simply because he gave his life for another, the greatest sacrifice. Preston and the President had done a sterling job in pulling the Gala evening together at the Palladium, the largest theatre in the area. Over five thousand tickets had been sold for the evening. The boys had also requested that there be a matinee so that the youth of America could show their respects for Dirk as well. What surprised me was that all of the matinee tickets were sold as well. At 2:30 we entered the foyer to the beautiful theatre to Dirks favourite boy band playing in the background. I was totally shocked As there were photos and paintings of Dirk everywhere. The centre piece as you walked into the theatre was the portrait that CJ and Chris had worked on together and that sat in my den, the photo on one wall and the painting on the opposite. The effect was stunning. As we entered there with her partner was Miss Millie, the photographic mentor that was tutoring CJ and she simple doted on him as he had as she said `Talent Dripping out of every pore'. The place was filled with children from all backgrounds and some had even flown in from the UK. The place was full to capacity and to quote a famous pop star the front row could easily rattle their jewels in time to the music. The price, since it was a children's matinee had been left open as we wanted to include children from all backgrounds. What surprised me was that we still raised $2,000,000 from ticket sales alone and every penny was to go to the scholarship. Centre of the front row with us were Prince Steven and Lady Annabelle Bravender. This was a show aimed at the youth and had boy bands and big show stopping stars from start to finish. It was totally hilarious to see the American take of the British Pantomime, it had us all rocking in the aisles. I was so touched as the tribute section came on screen to silence the whole audience started chanting "CJ, Chris, CJ, Chris, CJ..." ... In shock they walked up to the stage with Mike and Dave and as one the audience stood and applauded crying for CJ and Chris stood back looking proud of his friend. As pictures of Dirk started to flood past us, CJ looked out at the audience and he sang `My Heart will go on' the theme tune from the Titanic movie that he loved then followed it by `I will always love you' from the bodyguard movie. As he sang the stage turned so we could see the piano player and it was Lord Aquamaine Prince of Bowland. As he was singing everyone in the audience held up torches in respect for Dirk. CJ started to breakdown about halfway through and as he was struggling Peggy simply stood and started singing with him and walked up to the stage to support him. I had never been more proud of my family than I was at that moment. I was beginning to realise his voice was special because it sounded so mature and rather than being just a boy soprano he had the range of a full grown tenor with the beautiful sound of a soprano blended together. The audience cheered and screamed as if it was an A listed pop star singing on stage. The place was in turmoil and we applauded as one. When they realised that we would not stop with the voice of an angel he sang Nessun Dorma and what shocked us all was Lord Aquamaine with his fantastic voice join him. I was beside myself as I could not believe that he knew Dirks favourite songs that he always used to play for me. He closed, before walking off stage, with Lord Aquamaine and Peggy singing `I'll walk with God' from the `Student Prince'. CJ would have sung but Prince Steven had ran forward and picked him up just as he collapsed. While holding a sobbing CJ he also joined in the singing with his Uncle Terrence and Aunt Peg. I swear CJ had won the hearts of the world and donations poured into the telephone number that was given on the televisions screen for the scholarship foundation. Also requests for CJ to sing with who he now called Uncle Terry. Like CJ Lord Aquamaine had come from a difficult childhood and had literally raised himself. As they came back to the family we had time to chat to the audience as they were leaving. Then we were whisked away to a restaurant by the President and his family for dinner before being taken back to Aquamaine hotel to change in to evening wear for the gala that we would be attending that night. Word came to us that the total donations from the afternoon show alone were in excess of $30,000,000 with presales of the DVD of 100,000 copies and 250,000 copies of the CD. We were utterly gobsmacked by the love and the support that the world was showing. The President called ahead and booked the restaurant so that it was a complete private affair and no one would be able to interrupt our meal. Kings David and Myles with their children joined us and you could tell CJ had new friends, especially Annabelle who refused to leave his side. As we were being served the wine waiter took out a note pad and I noticed that he was unsettling the children and CJ was visible shaken. Rolling Thunder noticed too and walked quietly to the man picked him up above his head, took his notepad from him along with his calling card and then physically threw him out of the place. I immediately called the local Tribune the best selling paper in the area which was the number on his card and asked if they knew him, they responded that they did and that they would do anything to get a scoop. My anger was boiling over and I simply stated, "Here is your headline for tomorrow's edition sir. `Exley-Gibson, 45% shareholder in `The Tribune' ruins current owner and sacks staff in a hostile takeover.' My friend by the end of the day you will be out on the street." "Mr Exley-Gibson you can't stop the freedom of the press." He laughed. Man was he going down as he was so cock sure of himself. Calum held up 10 fingers and mouthed "10% share, they're yours, take the bastard." Mitch likewise held up 15 and mouthed "15% share they are yours! Take him." "I can when everyone else has the decency to follow our requests for privacy. I also can when," I paused and passed a dollar bill down to Mitch and Calum. "I have just purchased stock from friends who are at the meal with me and my shareholding is now 70%. Therefore with immediate effect we are taking control of your paper and the police along with my HR and auditors will be on site within the next ten minutes to make bloody sure that our wishes are followed. Do not leave the premises my Security has already reached your building. Thanks you." "You cannot do this!! "Watch me sir. Just watch me I have had my partner killed this week. No one will ever mess with me again. Do you understand?" With that I hung up. I slumped down on the nearest chair and sobbed. I was tired, so god damned tired of fighting all of the time. Lord Aquamaine rushed to my side and simply held me until I settled. "Tell the owners they need to be more careful about whom they employ or I will end up owning this place as well." Preston looked up, "Nope! No can do. I own this place and will not sell as I am giving it to the Gala Fund that we are raising for Dirk. It's my contribution. All profits from now go to the scholarship fund and there will be a slight up in price to cover the donation..." "Done sir...! Has anyone ever told you that you sir are a gentleman." We all laughed and Myles added, "Does that mean we complain to the new management about having cold food?" Everyone laughed. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and were soon at the hotel to change for the night. At 8:00pm exactly Preston walked on to the stage. "Ladies and Gentlemen this is a very British Affair so in the Royal box please welcome the President of the United States of America - John McKay and the First Lady. Accompanying them are King Myles of Lizondia and his son Steven, King David of Chrysland and Lord Aquamaine and his daughter Lady Annabelle Bravender. In the box next to the Royal box please be upstanding and welcome our special guest of honour..." There was a drum roll, "The Exley-Gibson and family." The cheers and applause died down and we suddenly heard, "Please welcome on to the stage Mr Charlton Hummel star of the new show opening on Broadway this week he will open with the National Anthem of America, also welcome Peggy Maycroft who sing the national anthem of Chrysland. This will be followed by CJ, we have all heard of him, singing the English National Anthem." I just looked around and suddenly realised that he had crept away with guards to appear on the stage. "As they are taking their place for those of you watching at home the phone lines are now open for you to pledge donations to the Dirk Exley-Gibson Memorial Fund dedicated to providing scholarships for the advancement of veterinary Excellence and helping those who cannot afford to remain in school. I can tell you we have raised over $30,000,000 this afternoon with the kids. So let's see if we can beat that this evening." He waited for the applause to die down. "The Government kicks of the donations with a $10,000,000 pledge in honour of Dirk giving his life to save the President of America. This pledge will be renewed every year at the annual Gala Concert that we will hold. Please note that all artists are appearing Free of any fee and because they had a call from Ms Peggy Maycroft. When she called and told them that CJ was involved that clinched the deal and they were here in droves. Peggy will be talking a little later. Ladies and Gentlemen please be upstanding for the National Anthems." The place went into uproar of applause as it died down Charlton, Peggy and CJ did their thing. Then the curtain went up to the most fantastic show. Peggy opened it with the aria from Madam Butterfly and that set the theme for the night. As the first song came to an end Peggy addressed the cameras. "I have known CJ since his choir sang with me when he lived in the UK. When they heard what had happened everyone wanted to be with him and to show that they cared. Ladies and Gentlemen please be upstanding for "The Choir of the Trinity Church of St Andrews." CJ is usually lively, but the whole audience looked up as the heard "Peggy! Nooooo..." "Yes CJ come on down and join your choir." They were all stood there in their very English cassocks and regalia, with Peggy stood to the side. "Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome CJ with The Choir of the Trinity church of St Andrews." With that the choir started humming "I'm walking in the Air" from the Snowman and on walked CJ full boy soprano singing to his heart's content. As he walked on the President and the kings were up on his feet followed by the rest of the audience cheering and whistling as his voice with the choir was simply stunning. Once he stood centre stage he turned round and just said, "Remember the one we were practicing when they took me away? Can we do that?" With that, `To Dream the Impossible Dream' started and I was stunned at how he interacted with the choir. At one point CJ faltered with the tears that were flowing and Lord Aquamaine stood up in the box and sang to strengthen him. This gave CJ the strength to continue. To close their section the choir started singing `Wooden Heart' in German and he just gasped and turned to the audience looking for Chris. "Can't you see I love you? Please don't break my heart in two. That's not hard to do coz I don't have a Wooden Heart..." Then he started singing it in German and Peggy stepped forward and they were soon dueting with choir. At the end of the duets Peggy stepped forward and said, "He came to watch tonight so let him sit down ... For now anyway. We will see more of him later." With that she sang one more song with the choir and then the curtains closed. Preston staggered on, "And then there was me. We will be seeing more of them later, but for now let's welcome to the stage..." and so it went on well into the night. At Eleven Peggy led the whole ensemble in "I'll walk with God." Before they were able to get off the stage though, just like the afternoon the audience were on their feet shouting for CJ again. Even though he was tired Mike walked him to the stage and Peggy sang to him "As long as he needs me" from Oliver, my god you could really feel the emotion. He looked at the choir and without any accompaniment CJ, backed by the choir sang "Where is Love" from Oliver. This stayed the theme for a little while because they then went into the "Consider yourself" and a few of the choir had changed out of their robes and danced and sang with CJ. CJ addressed the cameras and it would be unfair to go into everything that he said, but he did ask for a total for the day. With all of the pledges and the sales from tonight they had raised over $120,000,000 for Dirks Memorial Fund. I was stunned and totally humbled. CJ looked at the audience and said "Do you want to have a good old sing song before we go? King Myles will tell you that in Lizondia and England in olden days they had what was called "Music Hall". You see Peggy and I come from England. So let's have our own version of the `The Good old days.' Peggy had walked off and came back on at that point with a dress made of the Union Jack on one side and the American flag on the other. CJ stepped off for a minute then came on dressed as a choir boy, but his top was the Union Jack. The audience was up on their feet cheering. The music started and CJ sang the classic `Jerusalem' all about England and then Peggy followed that with `Land of Hope and Glory'. While she was singing he changed his top on stage and it was now the Welsh flag, as he stepped forward he held up a leek. `Oggy, Oggy Oggy' ... I stood up and shout Oi, Oi, Oi... He soon had the whole audience going with CJ - Oggy Oggy Oggy! Audience - Oi Oi Oi! CJ - Oggy Oggy Oggy! Audience - Oi Oi Oi! CJ - Oggy! Audience - Oi! CJ - Oggy! Audience - Oi! CJ - Oggy Oggy Oggy! Audience - Oi Oi Oi! Peggy looked at him and said, "Did you really have to do that?" and she ripped the front of her dress wide open to make the flags now a cape at the back and she wore and beautiful navy blue dress which was the Scottish flag. She then led the audience in `Oh flower of Scotland' They were going wild by the end of it. As CJ came back on the stage he was dressed in a Leprechaun green suit. "Has anyone seen ma gold?" We were in stitches as he even had the hat and beard on as well. Peggy was not expecting that and she laughed as much as the audience. He turned to the choir and sang with them `Oh Danny Boy'. It was stunning. "Well that was so much for the UK what about over here?" with that he pulled down his suit to reveal that he was wearing trousers made from the American flag and he sang a medley of song including `Over the hills and far away', `When Johnny comes Marching Home Again', and a very hilarious version of `Yankee doodle' ... Peggy stepped forward and said to close the evening a little bit of class and they sand the `Drinking Song' from La Traviata. Everyone was on their feet. We thought that we were never going to get away as it took seven curtain calls before the evening came to an end. The last curtain call the choir was back on stage with CJ in full choir regalia. He stepped forward and sang Pie Jesu. Then as a treat he was joined by Lord Aquamaine and they sang Nessun Dorma to close the evening. Peggy was totally astounded and vowed to have it recorded before the year was out. The audience was beside themselves and the applause nearly never ended. Eventually the curtain came down and CJ just collapsed as Rolling Thunder rushed forward to him, but he was too late as Lord Aquamaine had caught him. His friends were all around him, "Mister we don't go home till Monday can we sing at the funeral for CJ's Daddy? Miss Peggy said she'd join us." Lord Aquamaine looked at Peggy and said "Aunt Peggy I have to look after CJ can you sort tomorrow please." With that he was running from the stage to me so that we could leave. Guards were following him as he ran. As the audience saw him with CJ unconscious in his arms a hush went through the auditorium almost a kind of reverence for the wonderful boy that he truly was. The next day we could all do without as it was time for us to say goodbye. I did not want the night to end and refused to go to bed as it meant that we would be saying goodbye. Rolling Thunder took control in the end and picked me up and carried me to the bedroom and stood guard for yet another night. "Andy can you hold me tonight? I don't think I can be alone. I need you. Please..." and with that everything, all of the anger and all of the bitterness started to drain out of me and I sobbed myself to sleep in his arms. The funeral was at St James Cathedral and was led for us by Father Vince. Peggy stood at the front and sang "Time to say goodbye" as the coffin made its way to the front of the cathedral, led by Father Vince. We walked behind the coffin followed by the British Choir; everyone was there including all of the adults who had just attended the evening the previous night. The church was full to overflowing and the press kept their distance and were respectful to our wishes. It would be wrong to list everything that happened as a funeral is a very private affair. Dirk was placed in our private lot next to little Michael, CJ's brother and as everyone was leaving I just knelt at the graveside and felt my life drifting away from me. I had lost my soul mate, the one that I thought would be with me for the rest of my life. Why do I always lose those I love? Uncle Leon, Davy, my family, little Mikey and now Dirk. Am I cursed? I no longer knew and all I could do was cling to the coffin and cry. Lord Aquamaine took control with King David and he picked me up in his arms. I looked into his eyes and I knew. We walked to the vehicles Peggy sang with the choir "I will always love you." We were then in the vehicles and off to the hotel. The President and Mary-Lou and Sheila had organised a typical British wake and it was so tasteful that I managed to stay and meet with people remembering my Dirk. I think the time that we had at the wake was a healing time. CJ spent most of the time with his friends from his Choir. Chris was by his side all of the time and I noticed that Prince Steven and Lady Annabelle stayed with them as well, as if to protect them. The boys accepted CJ for who he was and included Chris in everything. Friendships were forged during that time that would last a lifetime. Charlton Hummel became a firm fixture at Martin's home and Tony accepted him as his new brother and Martin's partner. They were together for years and loved each other dearly though I could not understand them as they had what they called an `Open relationship'. ________________________________________________________________________ That's all for now folks. In chapter sixteen is the final chapter in Part 1 and we see them moving forward to the future. Part 2 is well under way even though I did not realise it. Lord Aquamaine has been a labour of love and I hope you will love it as much as I do. He will be very important to CJ.
