CJ continues to recover from his traumatic experience and begins to think about how he can help others moving forward. CJ also decides that the circle needs to expand. I'm hoping for a quiet week the rest of the week. The news continues to flow in which makes the time go quicker for Ross and myself on each show. After the Thursday morning shows and our usual breakfast at Cecilia's, I retired to my office for some alone time. The first item I checked on was my ring order. The company acknowledged the order was received and is being processed. The estimated ship date has been set for August 24th and should arrive by the end of the month. I called the company to see if I could expedite the shipping in any way? For an extra fee, I decided to have the rings shipped via FedEx and they will now arrive on or before August 27th. I felt better about the 27th just to insure I have them in my possession prior to our Labor Day getaway. UD surprised me with a call. I opened the call with "how's UD this morning?" He chuckled and said "I am doing great CJ. My main reason for calling is to tell you the signs have been ordered, and they should be ready next week. When they are ready, do you mind if I ship them to you, or maybe Alex is a better option for you?" I said "let's go with Alex, UD. He usually gets shipments once or twice a week and the carriers are familiar with his workshop location at the complex." UD replied "that sounds fine son. The signs and shipping will not even come to $200, so I owe you some money back." I cracked up and said "keep it UD for the next sign I need made." He continued on by saying "your shows went well this morning. You look tired though CJ. Are you feeling, okay?" I said "I'm feeling fine UD. I've been sleeping well, but I will admit that Monday afternoon took a hell of a lot of wind out of my sails. I hope I eventually get over the feelings I've had this week." UD said "you will CJ. Take it one day at a time son. You went through a very traumatic experience and you may have flashbacks ahead which can cause you to spiral downward a bit." I replied "I know UD. My circle is watching me closely here. I've got something on my mind though which I'm still having trouble processing. Do you have a few minutes for me to unload on you?" He chuckled and said "I'm all yours until your noon show if you need me CJ." I continued speaking to UD and informed him about the chamber of commerce wanting to present me with a reward, and how Bailey has suggested that I handle it. I said "I'm fine with the whole approach UD, but I'm not comfortable in selecting a group to receive the funds without knowing how they treat the crime victims. Does this make sense to you, or should I just pick the group, release the funds and move on with my life?" UD said "CJ, I understand perfectly where you are at with your thinking. Whenever I cut a donation check to charity, I always question myself if I am doing the right thing and will the donation truly help people? I don't know if this will help you or not, but have you thought about attending a meeting or seminar that the group hosts? Perhaps it will help you put your feelings about Jeffers in a better perspective for yourself, and in turn it may offer you more peace in your decision on which charity to donate to." I cracked up and said "it's funny that you even mention that route UD. The group that I am thinking about helping out has a meeting next Monday. I signed myself up for the meeting just to see how I am treated, and witness how they assist other victims with services and their care." UD replied "you're on the right track CJ. See how you feel about the group and either go with them or find another community service organization that fits your personal needs and wants." I laughed and said "you're always there for me with a direction to try in my life. I appreciate this talk UD as you have never steered me in a wrong direction." UD said "nonsense, you were already going to do what we've discussed. I just confirmed it's a possible route for you to try in your dilemma resolution. Please CJ, if you want to talk more about it, I'm always available for you. I do like the idea of you attending the meeting and finding the information for yourself. You have always had a good perspective on life, and who knows you may find yourself wanting to get involved more in the group and help victims with a personal touch." UD and I continued to discuss multiple other topics. Before I knew it, the time was approaching 10:30 am. I said "wow UD, I just looked at the time. Thank you so much for the great bull session this morning. I needed it more than I thought, but I do need to get moving here." UD said "no problem, CJ, call me if you need another session before Sunday son. I love you CJ and I'm sending you all of my positive energy for the rest of the week. Enjoy your weekend son. Bye CJ." I updated my weather segment with a few changes for noon, and loaded the entire segment to the switcher. Just a few minutes after I finished this, my phone rang and the ID popped up Fullinger. I answered "Walters here, how are you Fullinger?" Darrell cracked up and said "that was good CJ, I was not expecting that this morning. I'm calling for several reasons this morning, but first how are you doing?" I replied "I'm doing better Darrell than I was on Monday evening when you left me. My friends and tv family are watching me closely, and I sincerely appreciate all of the support they are offering me." Darrell said "it's so important to have a solid support system after an event similar to what you experienced CJ. Quite a few victims think they are fine, but have trouble coping with daily events several months in the future. Just watch yourself, and if you feel yourself slipping away, please reach out for help." I said "Darrell, thank you for that advice. I'm already taking some steps to resolve a personal dilemma that has resulted from this event. I'd like to discuss the specifics this weekend if you have some time?" Darrell said "I'd be happy to meet up with you CJ and discuss anything you want." Darrell continued on and said "I'm not sure if you have heard the follow up news on Jeffers or not?" I replied "I am aware that he's facing over 20 various counts with the worst felony being attempted homicide, and that he's being evaluated for his mental stability." Darrell said "yes, you have the info I was going to pass on to you. He will be going away for a long time CJ. I know that prosecuting attorney does not want to waste too much time on the case. Once he hears the results of the mental stability tests, he's going to push for Jeffers to spend his time at a mental hospital or a correctional facility with focus on mental cases." I said "thanks for all of that info Darrell, I appreciate your follow up with me. I actually was going to call you today. If you don't have plans for tomorrow after work, please plan on stopping by the condo complex. We have a Friday happy hour event at the pool or my party patio depending upon the weather. Happy hour usually extends into a dinner and it's a great way to start the weekend." Darrell replied "that sounds great CJ. I'm actually off tomorrow to do some work around my house. I'll plan on stopping by and joining in on the happy hour activities." I said "that's great Darrell. I hope you won't mind that it's a gay setting, but all of the guys are wonderful individuals." Darrell laughed and said "that is no problem at all CJ. I knew the other day when you introduced Wally as your partner that I'd fit right in with you two and your friends. I hope you'll have some singles for me to possibly hook up with?" I said "for sure one, and I'm working on a couple of others to attend Darrell. If you have any single friends you want to bring along, please do so." Darrell said "perfect. I'm looking forward to it CJ. Thanks so much for the invite, and I'll plan on stopping by around 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. Take care CJ." I had about thirty minutes to kill before the noon show. I checked in with Ross to see if he needed any help with stories. He replied "I'm good CJ, but I appreciate you checking in." Nick saw me and motioned for me to come over to his desk. He smiled and said "you've been hiding out on us since breakfast dude!" I cracked up and said "just doing some calls, responding to emails and getting ready for Friday happy hour." Nick followed up with "a perfect lead in for my subject that I want to discuss with you. Zach and I are planning the appetizers and meal for tomorrow. Does scallops, barbecue ribs, corn on the cob and some baked beans sound good for tomorrow?" I said "that all sounds wonderful, what can I do to help out?" Nick said "we're hoping you will make us up some of UD's sauce for the scallops and ribs?" I cracked up and said "I've got both of you covered my friend -- not a problem." Nick continued on and said "we're also going to get a keg of Heineken for the kegerator. Will that work?" I smiled and said "ah man, one of my favorite beers. Yes, we're going to need a keg refresh for tomorrow and the weekend. Thanks Nick, I appreciate what you and Zach are doing and I know we'll all have a good Friday afternoon and evening." Carl saw me and said "hey big guy, can I ask a favor of you?" I said "sure, what's up my friend?" Carl replied "my baby brother Jackson is coming into town for the weekend. He's on our team and is cool. Do you care if I include him in the happy hour and weekend activities? He's excited to meet Trev and see our new place." I smiled and said "is he single, because I have a request for some singles at our event tomorrow?" Carl cracked up and said "yes, he's single and a bigger horn dog than I am!" We both cracked up and I said "count him in. Nick and Zach are making BBQ ribs for everyone." Carl said "awesome, with UD's sauce I hope?" I laughed and said "yes, UD's legendary sauce will be on the ribs!" I went back to Nick and said "just so you'll know there will be a few more in attendance for tomorrow. 14 for sure, and possibly 16. Is that a problem?" Nick said "not a problem at all. We'll be ready CJ!" Ross and I killed the Thursday show. Jennifer added onto the success with her feature story at ZooTampa. I was fascinated by the conservation efforts underway at ZooTampa with the flamingos. I told myself "I've got to make it out there sometime this fall for a day trip. I wonder if that's something my man will be up for?" After we finished the show, Bailey entered the studio and said "well done you two! Thanks for supporting Jennifer also. I like how the overall format is changing on the morning and noon news. It's more personable, and we're offering a variety of stories. Keep it up you two, I appreciate all of your support!" Ross and I left the station at the same time. It was a cloudy day and cooler, so I decided to put the top down on the jeep for the ride to the beach. On the way there, a red convertible pulled up beside me and three blond women started flirting with me. The one in the back seat said "hey, you're CJ Walters, aren't you?" I smiled and said "yes, I am." She followed up with "will you pull into the Taco Bell up ahead so we can get a picture with you?" I cracked up and said "sure, let's go for it." Both vehicles entered the parking lot, and I exited the jeep. The one in the back seat said "climb in here with me and we'll get a group pic." I said "okay, only if I can get one also!" She giggled and said "I watch you every morning and think you are just too handsome! Are you going to Mel's tonight?" I smiled and said "not tonight unfortunately, but I'll be there next week." She said "awesome CJ, we'll see you there next week. I'm Amber and these are my best friends Tricia and Chrissy. Maybe we can do a group song next week with you?" I said "sounds great ladies. You three have a good afternoon and I'll see you next week at Mel's." I returned to my jeep and I was so glad that Wally and Alex did not witness my stunt. I can just hear Alex now saying "what the hell CJ, you switching teams on us? Did you approve this with me acting as your social media manager?" I cracked up thinking about my good friend giving me shit! I pulled into the complex, shut the jeep off and put the top back in place. As I was finishing up, Ken Blake approached me and said "hey there CJ, how are you doing today?" I looked and said "Ken, great to see you. I'm doing well, how are you today?" He replied "I'm doing very good CJ." I said "it's funny I caught you in the parking lot, as I was going to stop at your place before heading up to the fourth floor. We usually have a Friday happy hour at the pool or on my patio depending on the weather. The happy hour usually goes into a dinner. You may not be up for the scene, but it's a bunch of gay guys who just enjoy kicking off the weekend together. You're welcome to join us if you don't have plans?" Ken smiled and said "that sounds like fun CJ. I'd love to join all of you. I'm off tomorrow at 3:00, and I'll search the pool first followed by your place." I smiled at Ken and said "wonderful Ken, I'm glad that you'll be able to kick off the weekend with us." I stopped in at Aaron's place and said "anyone here?" Aaron yelled "in the office CJ." I made my way there and Alex and Aaron were hanging wainscotting on the lower walls. I smiled and said "Aaron, the color combo looks fantastic. It's going to be a very rich looking office for you and Bailey." Aaron smiled and said "thanks CJ. I really like how it's coming together. Why don't you go look at the patio with the updates while Alex and I continue work in here?" I replied "sounds great, can I do anything for you two?" Alex said "I think we're good for now CJ. We'll probably be another few hours in here finishing this room off." I went out to their patio and was amazed at the transformation. The new furniture was in place, the tv was mounted, the bar was set up with two barstools in front. Shelf mounts were in place and the floating shelves were drying after a fresh coat of grey paint. A new refrigerator was in place, and the hot tub was assembled and filled with water. I looked around at everything and said to myself "Jesus, those two have really kicked butt this week! Everything looks wonderful, and I'm sure that Bailey and Aaron will enjoy themselves tremendously on their patio." I went back in and said "my goodness you two. You both have to be exhausted. Everything looks wonderful. Aaron, are you happy with how the patio is progressing?" Aaron smiled at me and said "it's going to be kick-ass CJ, just like your place. I am so happy and cannot thank my friend Alex here for all of his help with everything." I told Alex and Aaron about happy hour and dinner tomorrow. I informed them that Detective Darrell is joining us and requested some single men to join the party if we have anyone else to join the group. Aaron smiled and said "do you two mind if I get my friends Gabe and Mason over here tomorrow?" They're both gay and really cool dudes. We're all going to college together now. I'd like to introduce them to Bailey and all of you." I said "perfect Aaron. Give them a call and get them over here. Darrell will have a selection of hotties that he can choose from!" We all cracked up laughing, and I said "I'm going to go for a workout guys. Call me though if I can do anything for the two of you." I put my workout clothes on, filled up my water bottle and headed for the workout room. I felt apprehensive about entering, but I said to myself "It's okay CJ. Jeffers cannot hurt you now. Move on with life, get a workout in and you'll feel much better." I cranked the stereo, limbered myself up and started out on the treadmill. I was surprised about five minutes later when Wally entered and said "hey there stud, mind if I join you?" I got off the treadmill, went over to him and planted a kiss and hug on him. I smiled and said "wow, this is an excellent surprise baby. I love it when you and I can spend time together in the afternoon." He replied "my construction managers have everything under control, and I decided to call it an early day so that I can be with you. What do you say to a workout, a shower then a nice dinner for us?" I replied "that sounds great baby as the truth is I felt a little apprehensive being here by myself." He smiled at me, gave me another kiss and said "I'm here CJ -- no one will mess with either one of us!" Wally joined me on the treadmills. We shared our workdays with each other and he said "your construction foreman has an excellent plan worked up for the pantry. Has he shown it to you?" I said "no, he and Aaron are in the zone at Aaron's place. You should see what all they have done, and the plumbers have a great start on the guest bathroom. Everything is going to look so nice once all the work is complete." Wally said "when I left this morning, Alex and I agreed to start on our pantry this weekend. He found a door that we both liked and he's going to place an order for two of them. I'm looking forward to getting it underway. I went ahead and ordered two sets of stackable washer and dryer units today. We should be set very soon to get everything moving." I informed Wally about the increased participation at tomorrow's happy hour, along with the menu that Nick and Zach are preparing. Wally cracked up and said "I like the idea of each couple taking a turn on hosting a happy hour." I agreed with him and said "Darrell asked me to make sure there were some singles at the party for him. I'm not sure what his type of man is, but we should have a varied selection for him. I was originally planning to see if Lucas and him hit it off. But now, Aaron is inviting two of his college friends and Carl's brother is going to join us to. I also invited Ken Blake. I think it's going to make for an interesting breakdown of individuals." Wally smiled and said "I think we all need a good happy hour tomorrow to recoup from the week we went through." Wally and I spent almost two hours in the gym and then returned to our place for a protein shake and cool down period on the patio. There was a very refreshing breeze moving throughout the patio. He and I decided to camp out on the chase lounge with our shakes. We continued to discuss various topics and I said "Jennifer did a story about conservation efforts going on at ZooTampa with flamingos today on the noon show. Are you interested sometime in doing a daytrip to the zoo?" He smiled and said "that is always an enjoyable experience for me. I try to make it there once a year, and I have not gone yet this year. Let's plan on a day there in October after your vacation officially starts." I flashed a smile at him and said "that sounds wonderful babe -- it's a date!" Wally started a new topic and said "I'm not planning anything special for our Labor Day weekend. I thought we'd spend one day on the boat, our parasailing trip and the rest of the time we'll enjoy beach time and general relaxation. I'm thinking just speedos, swimsuits, tee shirts and maybe a nice polo and shorts for a dinner if we ever leave the bungalow. How does that sound to you CJ?" I said "everything sounds wonderful baby. I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to some down time with you only. Don't get me wrong, I love our group very much! After this week though, I just need my Wally alone for some special time together." Wally gave me an extended kiss, looked deep into my eyes and said "I feel the same way CJ. It's going to be such a nice weekend for us, one that we'll never forget." Our tranquility was interrupted as Alex appeared out of the living room with Aaron. He looked at us and said "care if we join you? We're both beat and are going to enjoy a cold beer." Wally said "please gents, get a beer and have a seat." I said "hey chief, Nick and Zach are planning happy hour for tomorrow. They're also going to get us a keg of Heineken." Alex said "wonderful, as this one is almost gone! Are they getting a pony keg, or a full size one?" I replied "we did not discuss the size, so let's just be surprised and thank them for the gesture." He grinned and said "yes, I know. We're going through pony kegs quickly now and really should start considering full size kegs. We're such a bunch of lushes!" I changed topics and said "chief, I understand you have the official pantry plan created!" He smiled and said "yes, I do. I'll print you and Aaron a copy of it after I finish this beer. Wally, I did get the doors ordered and they will be here tomorrow." Wally cracked up and said "you're two steps ahead of me chief! The washers and dryers are ordered and will arrive Monday." Alex smiled and said "cool, we'll get a start on one pantry this weekend and see where we end up at. Aaron, do you want any more projects now, or you want to wait for a while?" Aaron replied "nah, let's keep moving Alex. I'll help you with the pantry at our place, while the plumbers continue their work." After he finished his beer, Alex went into the office and printed off two copies of the pantry plan for Aaron and I to review. He walked us through his thinking. I smiled and said "this will be a much better use of the space once we have it in place." Aaron chimed in and said "I agree CJ. Look at all of that wasted space now. I'm excited guys to see this project come to fruition as well." I asked Alex a couple more questions about his vision, and am very impressed with how well he has thought this out. I can't wait for him to formally join Wally's company and spread his creative wings even more. Alex said "several of us are planning to go to Mel's for tacos and karaoke tonight. CJ, do you feel up for it tonight?" I smiled and said "I'm going to stay in tonight, Alex. I promised three of my groupies though that I will be there next Thursday to sing with them." I pulled up the picture on my phone, and told everyone the story. As I expected, Alex started in with "what the hell CJ, are you going to try the bi scene on us?" I busted out laughing and said "You reacted as I expected you to my friend. No, I am not switching sides. I was having fun with some of my fans this afternoon. They want to sing at Mel's tonight, so do me a favor Alex and look them up. Their names are Amber, Tricia and Chrissy. Tell them CJ sent you and sing a group song with them!" Alex said "no way! I'm singing with my bud Aaron. We're going to sing a classic from Hall and Oates tonight." I cracked up at them and said "you go guys!" A few minutes later, Wally whispered in my ear "let's go take a shower and let the karaoke crowd thin out. We'll stay in tonight, does this sound okay to you babe?" I nodded my head yes and said "I'm all for that sweetheart. We have some grouper that I'll grill up and fix us a salad. I love our Thursday intimate dinners babe." I said "we're going to go take a shower you two. Have fun tonight, and bring us all some happy hour money for tomorrow." Alex said "which Hall and Oates song do you prefer CJ, Maneater or Private Eyes?" I smiled and said "I'm going for a third-choice chief. My favorite song from them is you make my dreams come true." Wally said "I enjoy that one as well CJ. Goodness, it scares me sometimes how much we have in common babe." Wally and I enjoyed a steamy shower together. We made out, enjoyed each other's body and gave each other a blowjob. As we stepped out and dried off, he looked at me and said "round two is coming after dinner sweetheart. That shower was just our appetizer tonight. Do you think you can handle two rounds of me today?" I grinned and said "no, let's make it three rounds babe." We had a very nice dinner together and enjoyed a bottle of wine with our fish and salad. After we cleaned up, we finished our wine while sitting together in the chase lounge enjoying the gulf views. Wally looked at me and said "sorry babe, I just wanted to be alone tonight with you." I looked at Wally, gave him a kiss and said "nothing to be sorry for sweetheart. This is what I wanted tonight. We'll make it back out to karaoke soon and take our championship back!" Wally and I went into our bedroom and enjoyed a passionate night of love making. He was all over me, and I was all over him. It felt as though we were reliving our first passionate night together again. I must admit though, each night we are together feels like our first night together. My man satisfies me in so many ways, and I know he feels the same way about me. Once we had both climaxed, we drifted off into sleep in each other's arms. My alarm went off too damn early. I shut it off and headed into the bathroom to begin my Friday preparations for work. I ended up wearing my white polo, navy slacks and brown loafers. I was ready to get Friday over with, and start the weekend with all of my friends. My man had a cup of coffee waiting for me at the breakfast bar. There was a note from the chief at the bar with the rundown on the karaoke winners for the night. I can just picture him writing the note with so much drama and excitement. The note said "Guys, you missed a classic Thursday night. Nick won the single contest with the song Father Figure, and Bailey shocked the hell out of all of us. He paired up with CJ's bimbo Amber and they sang the winning duet of don't give up by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush. All of us had a wonderful time, but we missed you both. I hope you both have a good day, and get ready for happy hour later today. All my love, Alex." I cracked up and said "way to go Bailey. I've got to get the story on how he paired up with Amber." Wally snickered and said "do you think Aaron will be jealous?" I replied "CJ Walters, channel 2 investigative reporter. I'll get the story for you Mr. Walters and report it to you sometime this morning!" We both had a good laugh and Wally walked me to the door, gave me my coffee mug and said "thanks babe for last night. I feel so good and relaxed. I love you more CJ!" I looked at him and said "oh, bypassing step one this morning! Well let me just say I love you most Wally!" I drove through the quiet streets and got to the station just after 2:30 am. Nick and Angela were already in the newsroom when I got there. I snuck in quietly and started singing "I will be your father figure, put your hands in mine....". Nick cracked up and Angela gave me a round of applause. She said "what do we owe those spectacular vocals to this morning?" I said "I heard through the grapevine that our producer extraordinaire won the singles contest at Mel's last night with that song. Can I get your autograph Nick?" He started obnoxiously laughing and said "Angela, the real surprise of the night was when Bailey jumped on stage with a blond DD cup woman and sang the Peter Gabriel classic don't give up. The crowd went nuts, and I think Bailey is planning to become a permanent Thursday night singer at Mel's now." Angela cracked up and said "good for both of you! I wish I would have been there to see both of you do a great performance." The rest of the crew arrived and soon we were all off working on our stories individually. Ross wore a blue polo and Jennifer wore a red one. Angela said "okay you three, I've got to get a picture of you three for the first of many Fridays casual dress days! Did you three plan red, white and blue, or did this just happen?" I snickered and spoke for the three of us saying "we will never reveal our secrets, Angela!" Everyone was in a great mood, and the morning flew by. Before I knew it our morning shows were wrapped up and it was time for breakfast. The three of us went into the newsroom and Bailey was waiting for us along with Nick and Angela. He was dressed in blue polo and khaki slacks. He was smiling and said "you three are absolutely blowing my mind! The morning show improvement just this week has been off the charts. I love where you three are taking the newscasts, and I throw in the towel on casual Fridays! It's a great look, and I've already left Mitch, Ronny, Daniel and Paul know to wear their polos today. Thanks everyone, let's go get some breakfast!" Our conversation was very lively throughout the breakfast. Angela said "I hear several of us missed a spectacular karaoke show at Mel's last night. Bailey is that true?" He cracked up and said "a good time was had by all. I think Mel's will now be my Thursday night hangout. The taco specials are wonderful, and the karaoke show was so much fun. How are you feeling this morning Nick, and did you enjoy Mel's last night?" Nick smiled and said "I did Bailey. I plan to be there with you each Thursday night for tacos and karaoke. We should plan a morning show sometime and all sing a song together!" On our walk back to the station, I asked Bailey "did Aaron get pissed with you singing with a woman?" He laughed and said "nope, my boy was happy for me and I made it up to him in bed after we got home. I know I ended up with the better deal at the end of the evening. God CJ, I love Aaron to death and I'm loving the life of Bailey 2.0!" The rest of the morning was so jovial in the newsroom. Everyone was in a fantastic mood and I can feel our team comradery building more each week. Ross and I went out to the set early. He said "any big plans for the weekend CJ?" I said "nothing too exciting Ross, how about you and Sheila? Are you two making it through the bathroom renovations?" He cracked up and said "we're doing okay and we don't have any major plans for the weekend. The boys start school on Tuesday, so I'm sure we'll have some last-minute errands to run." The noon show went well, and it was a mass exodus from the newsroom at 12:40! Bailey was leading the group out to the parking lot and said "I hope everyone has a great weekend!" I followed him back to the condo and we went to his place first to look for Aaron. Alex and Aaron finished up the office, and it looked superb. Bailey and I took a tour through every room and looked in the guest bathroom to see the progress. He was beaming and I said "are you happy boss?" He snickered and said "I'm fucking happy and in love CJ. Thank you for getting me here with my boy. You'll always have a special place in my heart CJ and I cherish our friendship that we have developed." He brought me in for a big bro hug and I said "I'm going to go get ready for some pool action." He smiled and said "send Aaron down to help me pick out my speedo if he's up at your place." I walked into our condo and found Aaron, Alex and Zach working in the kitchen. I said "afternoon everyone. How about some pool action for everyone?" They all agreed and Zach said "CJ, I went ahead and used several bottles of UD's sauce for the scallops and ribs. I hope you don't mind." I said "no problem at all Zach. UD is going to send us several more boxes of sauce bottles to get us through the winter months." I said "Aaron, your daddy said to send you down to help him pick out his speedo to wear." Aaron blushed and said "okay, thanks CJ. I better get down there now to help him out! I'll see everyone in a while at the pool." I turned to Alex and said "okay chief, what do you need me to do?" He grinned and said "get changed, and we'll start carrying things down to the pool." I put my red speedo on with my channel 2 swim trunks over it. I grabbed a tee shirt, and my flip flops and I was ready to go! The chief had three coolers made up -- one of Bailey specials; one of Wally's sunset pleasure; one of blueberry gin and tonics. Alex had one other cooler with a case of beer in it and ready to be iced down. We decided to take another cooler with us to load ice up from the rec center ice maker. Carl, Trev and Carl's brother Jackson showed up just in time to help us out. Jackson can be mistaken for the identical twin of Carl. I grabbed the humidors and supplies as well, and soon we were off to the pool. It was only 1:30 pm, but everyone was ready to start early! Bailey and Aaron joined us and Nick came to the pool shortly after them. Alex got some music going and the drinks soon started flowing. People continued to join us and around 2:00 I heard Alex say "WOOF! Who the fuck is with Darrell and can I have his baby?" I busted out laughing, looked over and saw Darrell approaching us with a man I recognized, but could not place where I knew him from. As they got closer, I recognized that it was Bill from the keg distributor. Darrell said "hey everyone! CJ, we're early and I hope you don't mind I brought my brother Bill along. He was helping me drywall today at my house, and I invited him over to happy hour." I turned to Bill and said "welcome Bill! You may not recognize me, but you've helped me several times at the keg distributor." Bill smiled and said "that's right! Your always in a suit, and you tip me for doing my job. How are you doing CJ?" I replied "I'm great and so glad it's Friday. Please, make yourselves at home. Enjoy the pool, we've got several cocktails made up and there is a cooler full of beer." Bill said "what do you think Darrell, go for the hard stuff, then switch over to beer later today?" Darrell said "sounds good bro, I have taught you well!" Darrell turned to me and said "what cocktails do we have CJ?" I smiled and said "we've got the Bailey special which is vodka and lemonade, the Wally sunset pleasure which is bourbon, ice tea and fruit and finally we have a blueberry gin and tonic." Darrell said "oh man, bourbon sounds fantastic to me! Bill chimed in and said "pour me one also bro." The bullshitting started and soon there were a number of smaller conversations going on. Our happy hour has begun! Aaron's friends Gabe and Mason showed up next and they were being followed by my man! I did not recognize that Gabe and Mason were twins until they called themselves out as twins. Bill quickly focused attention on Gabe and Mason and I said to myself "okay, it looks as though a three way will be happening with Bill and the twins tonight!" Bailey and Darrell were bullshitting each other on rafts, and I jumped in with my man in the deep end. He and I grabbed a noodle to float on and went to the side of the pool to retrieve our drinks. The chief was busy making sure everyone had everything they needed and I finally had to say "Alex, we're all good dude! Chill out and grab yourself a drink stud." Soon we were all lounging on tubes, rafts or noodles. Carl said "see what you're missing Jackson? Finish school off, get a job and you can join us every Friday afternoon to kick off the weekend." Jackson cracked up and said "I can get use to this bro! I may be visiting you and Trev quite a bit for long weekends. Do you think Mom and Dad will mind?" Carl cracked up and said "nah, don't worry about them. I'll tell them we're getting you drunk every Friday afternoon and Dad will be happy with me, Mom will be worried about us!" Ken Blake came into the pool area next and he had Lucas with him. I yelled "hey Ken, hi Lucas! Come on in and join us in the pool. Grab yourself a drink first. There's three different drinks and a cooler full of beer for us to kill this afternoon. The chief got out of the pool, told them what the drinks were and poured them each one. Soon everyone was floating in the pool, but we were missing one Ronald Bradford! I went over to the chief, put my arm around his shoulders and said "don't worry stud. Your man will be here later and will help us throw out the drunks!" Alex cracked up and said "you always know what to say to get me in a better mood CJ!" Lucas came floating over to Wally and I. He said "CJ, thanks for the invite. Your complex pool is awesome. Do you rent it out each Friday afternoon, or is usually quiet and your group just invades it?" Wally and I cracked up and Wally said "for some reason Lucas, Fridays are usually quiet here. I think it's just so many handsome men are here and intimidate the general public." Lucas cracked up and said "okay CJ. Point out the singles to me!" I pointed to Darrell, Bill, Ken, Gabe, Mason and Jackson. Lucas said "cool, a nice variety. I'm going to go mingle but do not fear I will return later." I was pleased to see Darrell and Lucas conversing. I think out of anyone, they will hit it off the best. I'm surprised to see Jackson and Ken hitting it off good, but who knows these days! Ken and Jackson may be looking for the same things in life and if they find it together, fantastic for them! Carl and Trev came over to Wally and I. Trev said "hey dudes. Next Friday Carl and I will host happy hour. We're also going to have a playroom christening for everyone. Do you think this group will be up for it?" Wally and I cracked up and I said "yes, I think we have the perfect crew for the christening here. We need to find one more single though, unless Bill takes Gabe and Marcus on for himself! Carl, Jackson and Ken seem to be getting along well. What type of man does Jackson prefer?" Carl grinned and said "any man greater than six inches long satisfies him!" We all busted out laughing and I said "on that, I need a refill. How about you my love, are you ready for another one?" Wally smiled at me and said "yeah baby, I'll take another blueberry G&T please." The afternoon continued on and everyone was enjoying themselves tremendously. I yelled over to Alex and said "we need to get a volleyball net for the shallow end." Alex said "yeah, we'll put that on the list CJ. We have enough now to split up into two teams." Wally and I got out of the pool for a while and went over to the table. We each poured ourselves one more drink and Wally said "care for a cigar CJ?" I smiled and said "you read my mind love. Let's see how many we get interested in smoking one with us. I bet that over half do, except I'm not sure about Gabe and Mason." Wally said "let's fire them up and find out my love." It wasn't long until everyone exited the pool and enjoyed a cigar with Wally and I. Bill and Darrell looked so fucking hot smoking one. I was even turned on by Gabe and Mason. It was definitely a man's afternoon and I was thoroughly enjoying it. The bullshitting continued on and soon Bill had Gabe and Mason each sitting on one of his legs. Jackson and Ken were enjoying each other's company and Darrell and Lucas appeared to be hitting it off as well. Just think, our circle could expand to 20 or over before the end of the year! Zach checked the time and saw it was approaching 5:00 pm. He announced "hey everyone it's getting close to 5:00. Let me know when you're getting hungry and Nick and I will start fixing food up for all of us." Nick said "I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting hungry. Zach, let's go start dinner and people can join us whenever they feel like it." Nick and Zach left to start dinner and Darrell said "CJ, thank you so much for the invite this afternoon! I'm having a great time, and it's been wonderful to meet new people." As he said it, he put his arm around Lucas's shoulder and pulled him in for a kiss. I replied "I'm so glad you and Bill made it over today, Darrell. Everyone is welcome here every Friday afternoon. Please continue to make yourself at home and enjoy our complex." We soon decided to pack up and join Nick and Zach to start eating some dinner. The coolers were gathered up and Alex packed up the humidors, ashtrays and other supplies. Bill and Darrell each grabbed one end of the beer cooler and we headed for the fourth floor. Alex shuffled people out to the patio and turned on a music channel for all to enjoy. Nick was busy at the grill, and Zach was bringing all the needed supplies to the patio table. I grabbed two pitchers and filled them with ice water for anyone who wants some with dinner. Several people began investigating the patio. Ken came up to me and said "this is wonderful CJ. I love it! Where did you get your pub sign from?" I said "UD had that made in Cincinnati for me Ken. He has someone make nautical signs for his restaurants." Ken said "I'd love to add one to my place. The beach theme and colors are great." I said "just tell me what you want it to say, and I'll have UD get you one made up!" Ken said "cool CJ, thanks. I'll think about my pub name and let you know." Nick announced that dinner was ready, and everyone started filing through the buffet line setup. The ribs are absolutely wonderful, and the corn on the cob seemed to be a hit with everyone present. Everyone spread out on the patio, enjoyed the afternoon feast and continued on with lively conversation. Wally and I ended up sitting at the high top with Darrell and Lucas. Lucas said "CJ and Wally, thanks for the invite. It's been so nice to meet everyone here today, especially Darrell!" Darrell smiled and leaned over to Lucas giving him a kiss. After the kiss Darrell said "I agree with Lucas you two. I'm enjoying myself so much, and I plan to take you up on future Friday happy hours. I can really get into this vibe. CJ, you mentioned wanting to talk to me about something which happened this week. Is now a good time, or do we need to consider a more private setting?" I replied "here is fine Darrell, I just hope I don't bore Lucas to death." Lucas grinned and said "CJ, please speak out with whatever you need to." I filled Lucas in on the story so he was not lost on the topic from the start and I brought it to a finish informing everyone about the reward, my plans to give the reward to a crime victim community organization and my concerns about the organization and what they will do with the reward money." Lucas got off his bar stool and came over to me giving me a hug and kiss on my cheek. He had a tear in his eye and said "my goodness, I cannot believe what all you have been through CJ. I admire you for what you're planning to do with the reward and understand your concern." Darrell pulled me in for a hug as well and said "CJ, you will need to make the decision for yourself, but please know I highly recommend the organization you are thinking about working with. The group does tremendous work with the community, and I have interacted with the organizers so many times in my line of work. They are fantastic people, and I even do volunteer activities for the organization. I like your idea about attending their meeting next week, and I'm anxious to hear your experience with the group. Who knows, you may be very impressed with them and even want to volunteer for some of the activities. I highly recommend the group, CJ. The reward money will be put to very good use." I looked at Wally with a tear in my eye. He grabbed me, gave me a kiss and said "what did I tell you sweetheart? It's going to work out fine. What a testimonial from Darrell also! I feel much better about your choice after hearing his personal experiences with the group. Continue your investigation CJ, and if you want to do volunteering with them, I'll join you as well. Based on what I have just heard from Darrell, I want to help the group out as well." Lucas chimed in and said "make it four guys as I want to work with them as well." The four of us finished our meal, and joined the majority of the group back in the television area. Ken said "CJ, where did you get the sound system? I've been looking for one, and I don't even notice speakers hidden out here but the sound is pleasurable all around the patio." I cracked up and said "thanks Ken. Believe it or not, the speakers are wifi and tie into the television. Alex did a wonderful job at researching them, purchasing them for a birthday present for me and he did an excellent job at installing them so they blend in well with the patio furnishings." Alex smiled, puffed out his chest and said "Ken, I will get the company info to you where I purchased them from. I have to agree with you, their sound is absolutely wonderful and they do hide in well on the patio." Ken said "thanks Alex. I definitely want to add some to my patio and if you can help me out with the install, I'd appreciate it." I smiled and thought to myself "I can hear it now from the chief. My work at this complex is never done!" It was just a few minutes after 7:00, and Ronny joined us. Trev was the first one to notice him and screamed out "the man, the myth, the legendary Ronny Bradford! How are you doing tonight?" Ronny had a shit ass grin on his face and said "evening everyone. I can tell I'm about six rounds behind everyone, so I need to start catching up! Trev, I'm all clear for next Friday so make your announcement whenever." Alex and I looked at each other while Trev said "that's great Ronny. Everyone, Carl and I will be hosting next Friday's happy hour. I was waiting to hear from Ronny to make sure he will be here for the whole event, and based on his confirmation I invite everyone back next Friday to the pool, this patio and Carl and I want to christen our play room next door with everyone here. Let's make it the orgy fest of 2023 for all of us to remember." Everyone cheered and joined in a round of high fives and applause. Jackson looked at Carl and said "bro, can I stay again next weekend?" Ken went up to him and said "if Carl doesn't let you stay, you can stay with me!" Jackson gave Ken a kiss and hug and said "deal big guy." Lucas looked at Darrell and said "I'm off next Friday. Care to join me here?" Darrell smiled, pulled Lucas in for a kiss and hug, and said "I'll be counting down the days until we meet here again next Friday stud." Bill was sitting with the twins and said "okay boys, we need to get some practice in this weekend so we can impress everyone with our orgy skills next Friday!" Gabe, Mason and Bill joined in a round of hugs and kisses on the loveseat. Ronny walked over to Alex and said "Trev forewarned me about the play room christening orgy, and I traded some shows with Paul so that I can be here with you, my love. Does that sound okay to you, and Trev said we can even be first in the sling to christen it in front of everyone?" Alex jumped up, wrapped his arms around Ronnys neck and wrapped his legs around Ronny's waist. He looked into Ronny's eyes and said "I love you so much sweetheart! Thanks for making this happen for us." They engaged in a deep kiss and finally broke it off when Carl said "hey Ronny, what's that white stuff running down your leg?" Everyone roared in laughter and the chief showed us a new color of blush due to the unwanted attention. Or evening continued on and I don't think anyone wanted it to end. Aaron had a poker chip set and cards ready to go, Carl started a group off with an 801-team dart game and the remainder of us continued to relax, chat and enjoy the evening sunset. What a perfect ending to a weird ass week. I'm glad it's over and I feel much better today than I did on Monday afternoon. My circle is expanding with so many interesting characters, I'm going to propose to my future husband in two weeks and I'm loving life to the fullest. My long-range forecast is back on track and I can hardly wait for Labor Day weekend to begin for us.
