He was nice to Nick whenever they interacted but otherwise had avoided him. He didn't want the strange feelings of attraction to grow into something more and his tactics of evasion had worked for the most part. That was until a certain Wednesday afternoon. Chris was photocoying sheets of paper with stats and charts emblazoned across them in the photocopying room - it was more of a closet by the size of it and by how cramped it was with equipment and office supplies. The mechanical sound of the photocopier printing filled the space. "Hey, Bud," Nick entered the cramped space. He was so burly and tall, there was barely any space left in the room. "Just printing some stuff," he smiled. He was wearing a short-sleeve check shirt. It was tight and caressed his muscular chest and arms. It looked like it was almost treatening to burst open. "Jesus, how can he be that hot?" Chris thought, his mouth agape. Damn, his own thoughts were letting him down. He had been so good at not getting too close to Nick but how here he was, standing in a close space with the muscular attractive man, nowhere to go. "Chris?" Chris snapped to attention. "Sorry, I was a million miles away. Go ahead," Chris squashed himself against the photocopier so Nick could squeeze past to get to the printer. He felt the larger man move past him. It was a struggle since the room was so small and it was barely wide enough for two fully grown men to move side-by-side. Nick's large chest grazed him, the muscles rubbing against his back. Nick gently held Chris' arm for support as he moved past. The moment almost knocked the breath out of Chris. Having the larger muscular man pressing his weight against him even momentarily was such a turn on. But what was it about Nick that was doing this to him. He'd always liked being the man in Nick's position: flirting with shorter, slimmer men; being the more masculine, muscular one; hugging a guy from behind. But now the idea of having those positions switched was driving him insane. He was frustrated but he wanted more, which was repeating the cycle of lust and frustration infinitely. "No worries, Bud," Nick, chipper as always, began printing some images. They looked like photos from a sporting event. "Hey, cool pics. What are they from?" Chris asked, trying at casual conversation to get away from his confusing libido doing mayhem in his head. "These? Yeah, they're from the charity event last weekend. The photographer did a fab job getting shots and the fun run and the obstacle course," Nick showed photos of people in running gear jogging through a park; individuals having fun darting over various obstacles; and friends and families posing at the finish with their medals. "They look really good. Looks like everyone had a fun time." "It was really enjoyable to cover. I just have to write up a few pieces about it and transcribe some interviews I got on tape." "Nice. I heard they did really well with all the donations. It's great for the charity." "People were so generous. They really turned out in their droves. I'm surprised I didn't see you there. Those was really good atmosphere." "Eh, not really my thing. I'm not very sporty." "We'll have to change that. You can come on a run with me sometime, or swim, or tennis, or throw the rugby ball around the park, whatever suits your fancy. You won't know yourself. Being active is really addictive once you get into it," Nick smiled. Chris was caught for words. Was Nick asking him out? On a date? Surely he meant just as friends? Chris was also mesmerised at the thought of Nick in running shorts, or speedos, or tackling him to the ground in rugby... He shook his head before he gave himself a hard-on. Chris cleared his throat and tried to sound casual, "Yeah, sure, Nick, that sounds good. You'll have to be patient though, I haven't done anything sporty since school." "You'll be fine, you look fit anyway," Nick jostled him. Chris laughed, trying to maintain his composure and keep his face from going red. Nick tutted, opening the paper tray, the plastic drawer clanging as the printer complained about not being able to finish the printing job. "All out of paper." "No worries, I'll grab a new batch," Chris spotted a package of sheets on the top shelf above him. He rose on his tippy-toes to grab them but he wasn't quite tall enough. "It's ok, I can get it. We should really put them somewhere more accessible." Nick came up behind Chris, placing a hand on his shoulder for balance while he reached up for the paper with his other hand. Again, Chris felt the weight of Nick against him - his large pecs against his back, his hand resting on his shoulder, his arm even grazed Chris' neck. Chris could feel the soft hair on Nick's arm tickle his neck. His eyelids drooped from feeling the other man close to him, rubbing against him. He had to catch himself before he let out a sigh of pleasure. "Thanks for the help," Nick chuckled, patting Chris on the back, bringing him back into reality. "No problem," Chris laughed nerviously, "see you later." He gathered up his sheets and left before Nick could see how flustered he was by the intimacy of the moment. ***** After lunch, the day had slowly crept into being a sizzler. The autumn weather was holding off as an Indian Summer scorched the city. The air conditioning was on but the sun beating through the office windows made it feel like they were being cooked alive. Chris had taken off his shirt was in a t-shirt. He had patches of sweat under his armpits from the heat. "You might as well pull up a chair and desk, Kate," Jane teased from her desk. "I'm just not able for this heat," Kate fanned herself. She had been getting up from her seat every few minutes to go to hug the water cooler. It was the only cool thing in the office. "Can't we turn up the AC?" "It's on full blast, sorry," Fred shrugged. "Uhhhh, I'm going to melt," Kate whined. Tom trundled into the office, carrying some fans. "I got these out of storage. We can put a few around the office, get some wind blowing." "Thank you thank you thank you," Kate practically prised one from Tom's hand and placed it next to her desk. She laid back in her chair like she was sun tanning. "Heaven," she sighed as the cool air passed over her. "I'll put another one down here," Tom placed one behind Nick, pointing it towards Nick and Chris. As the cool breeze started blowing towards Nick and Chris, Chris felt the relief of the air. But he soon smelt the warm musky scent of something. It smelt inviting, homely, attractive. "What is that?" Chris thought. Then he realised it was Nick's cologne billowing towards him in the breeze. Nick smelt like heaven. It made Chris feel like he was being hugged in the warm embrace of the muscular man. The scent of the cologne filled the air around him, filling his head with thoughts of Nick. He imagined being in bed surrounded by the smell, surrounded by the man sitting across from him. Chris glanced over at Nick who had unbuttoned part of his shirt because of the heat. Nick's hairy chest was on display. Chris wanted to rub his hands across the hairy chest, to lay his head down on those broad pecs. He could see sweat droplets developing on Nick's temples, slowing making their way down his face. Chris could hardly concentrate on his work. What he would give to lick the droplets from Nick's handsome face. "This heat is making me go insane," Chris suddenly realised. He adjusted the hard-on in his jeans. He was lusting after the man sitting across from him and the heat wasn't helping. "I need something to cool me off," he thought, getting to hit feet, but quickly sat down again. "Probably best to wait a few minutes," he thought as he looked down at his tenting jeans.
