restaurants just here in town, it would still take several trips to

The men perused the menu and George remarked everything looked
delightful. Stefan told them the specials of the day. They included Roasted
Prime Rib with creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding, and either baked or
mashed potatoes. Next was Petralle Sole Picatta with capers and lemon, with
Rice pilaf and sautéed mixed veggies. Next was Pork Medallions in a
cream and mushroom sauce with cognac, mashed potatoes and green beans with
shallots and dill.

They finished their drinks while talking over the menu. George ordered the
Pork Medallions while Tommy and Tod chose the Prime Rib, medium rare, with
horseradish cream on the side. Robbie asked for the Picatta and then asked
for a Jordan Cab and another bottle of the Hess Select.

A small plate of sliced, toasted Baguettes with a cheese and crab spread
was brought and all were demolished in short order, followed by Caesar
Salad (made at the table). Both George and Tod remarked how good everything
was. Tod said they often brought guests here or one of the other
restaurants to entertain, especially friends from out of town.

Tod explained they lived in St. Francis Wood in an old home his Aunt had
left him when she passed, and that they would love to have a dinner for
them when the dust cleared. Robbie said they would love to but it would be
a while since they were headed back down South to their home in Palm
Desert. They had to check in on their new restaurant in Beverly Hills and
one of Blackford's restaurants (Union Square) would be redecorated and
become the same as their new restaurant in Palm Desert with a solid French

Salads were finished and raved over by all. Small frosted glasses of a

cleared, new silver was set and soon the main courses appeared. Everything
looked and smelled equally delicious. Everyone dug in and enjoyed the
meal. Each couple talked about how they had met and how long they had been
together. During dinner, several patrons came over to say "Hello" to Tommy
and Robbie and said they were excited about forthcoming change to the

Dinner was shortly consumed and both Tod and George raved how fabulous the

profusely. They knew tomorrow was going to be a hectic day, contacting and
