Date: Sun, 07 Nov 1999 23:20:03 EST From: Double A Subject: Bob and Zac: Scott engages...- Part 8 "Due to a slight delay, the concert will start momentarily. Please be patient." A staff member from the Corel Centre announced to the crowd. Backstage, Bob, Clint and Dave were getting very annoyed. "Where *is* he? " Clint asked to nobody in particular. Dave paced the backstage area, impatiently. It just wasn't like Scott to be late. Bob sat on a box, his chin in his hand, and wondered if it was his fault that Scott wasn't there. "I guess that I was kinda mean." Bob thought to himself, "But, Scott shouldn't have been doing that with Zac." His thoughts were interrupted, as the backstage door opened and a breathless Scott walked through. Immediately, all three of his brothers rushed over to him. "Where the hell were you?" Clint asked. "Yeah, we were supposed to go on half-an-hour ago!" Dave added. Scott shrugged, "Hey, sorry! I ran into someone in the hallway and...well...we lost track of time." Clint crossed his arms across his chest, "Yeah, well you're the one who's going to tell the guy there that we're ready to go on now." Scott shrugged and backed off a few steps, "Okay...okay! I'm sorry!" Clint sniffed the air and gave Scott a strange look, "Scott, have you been smoking?" Scott shook his head emphatically, "No! I mean, I was walking and...well...there was this guy..." his voice trailed off, as he noticed, by the looks on their faces, that the question was pretty rhetorical. Clint and Dave looked at each other and shook their heads, before going back over and readying their instruments. Bob walked over to Scott and, shrugging, said, "Look, man...I'm...I'm sorry." Scott smiled, "What are you sorry for? It was totally my fault." "No, it wasn't!" Bob replied, "I overreacted and made a total ass of myself!" "Yes. Yes, you did." replied Zac, walking into the area at that moment. "Nobody asked you!" Bob responded jokingly, turning to Zac. Zac walked over to Zac and, putting his hand on his lover's hip, said, "I just wanted to wish you good luck, since you're finally going on." Bob smiled and, wrapping his arm around Zac, leaned forward and the two kissed. Despite himself, Scott felt a pang of jealousy as he saw his secret crush kissing his brother. After several seconds, the two separated again and Zac winked at Scott, before walking to the back of the area and fiddling with Bob's drums. Scott sighed and, walking across the area, he approached a staff member, who waited impatiently. "Well? Are we ready now?" He asked, impatiently. Scott nodded, "I'm sorry. Yes, we are." The man sighed and walked back over to the curtain to deliver the news to the crowd. The concert went quite well. Scott spotted Josh sitting in the front row and smiling at him the entire time. As Scott and his brothers sang "Girl of my Dreams", Scott stared right at Josh and, at the end of the song, he winked at him. All in all, it was a fine concert with very few mistakes. Afterwards, the four sweaty boys ran backstage again, the sound of the crowd screaming was still audible. "Damn, I hate it when they scream!" Dave said, going over to the cooler left for them and getting a bottle of water. "Yeah." Bob concurred, "I do too." Clint turned to him and smiled, "Why should you be bothered? Nobody is screaming for you, because they know that you're taken and gay." Bob shrugged, "I dunno...There were a few guys who were giving me coy looks." Zac came in from offstage and ran over to the boys. Scott turned to him and asked, "Why do you always do that?" Zac shrugged, "What? I'm not allowed a small drum solo after you guys are done?" Not waiting for an answer, he ran up to Bob and kissed him soundly. "Great show." Zac said, breaking away after a few seconds. Clint smiled at his twin brother as he walked over and got himself a Pepsi. The displays of affection that the two shared were kinda weird at first, but now everybody was used to the sight of two boys kissing, so it was just really sweet. "Scott!" Everybody turned to see a boy walk in from offstage. Scott immediately ran over to him. "Josh!" He called, as he approached him. Josh ran his fingers through his hair and stammered, "Man, you were totally kickass! I mean, I've never been to a Moffatt concert before, but...Wow!" Meanwhile, Bob was looking at Zac, confused, and said, "Hey, I thought that you said that the boy that Scott liked was straight!" Zac shrugged, smiling, "Whatever." The four of them watched Scott standing there, talking to the boy, and were even further confused, as they saw him lean forward and kiss the boy, their arms wrapping around each other tightly. "Is it just me, or does that just not look right?" Clint asked, "I mean, I always thought that Scott was the most girl-obsessed of all of us." Bob shrugged, "Well, you didn't know about me either." Dave laughed, "No, actually we always figured you were gay, Bob. I mean, you have long hair, you're quiet, non-violent, always daydreaming and you love shopping!" Bob laughed, "Geez, what did you do? Go to a teenybopper website before you went onstage?" "Shh!" Zac hushed, as Scott and the boy walked over to them. "Guys," Scott introduced, "I'd like you to meet Josh. Josh already knows all of you guys." Josh tossed his head back, throwing his long hair over his shoulder, and smiled, "Yeah, Dave, Clint, Bob and...Zac Hanson." Zac bowed dramatically and said, "I'm glad to see that you and Scott worked things out." Josh shrugged, blushing slightly, "Yeah...I'm sorry about what I did to him." "Don't apologize to me! Apologize to poor Scotty!" Zac said, his arms crossed across his chest. Scott stepped forward, "He did, Zac. Everything is cool. Chill." Zac nodded, but gave Josh a wary glance. Josh smiled, "Hey, I'm cool, all right. Anyway, Scott and I are gonna get going, so we'll see you later. It was great meeting all of you." "Going where?" Clint inquired. Scott shrugged, "Josh and I are going back to his place for a while." "Seriously?" Bob exclaimed, "I mean, are you sure..." "Shut up, Bob" Scott cut him off before he could fuel the ideas that were already starting to brew in his head. With only a cursive nod, Scott and Josh headed toward the backstage door. "By the way," Josh whispered to Scott, as Scott held the door open for him, "my parents are out in Europe for the week, so we have the house all to ourselves." Scott felt his face begin to blush as he stepped through the doorway and after Josh, unsure what the night held for him. To be continued... P.S.
