Chapter 236

The Receiving Room

Lucas looked around at everyone, everyone staring at him.

Hudson stared at Lucas, his hand in Haven's, the older man's arm around him.

"Please tell us what happened, Lucas. We're all waiting with bated breath." Finn said, Lucas staring at his friend.

"It's time you understand the greatness of what's to happen tomorrow. Of what's already happening around all of you." he said, Finn nodding.

"Your love is around all of us, we all see its beauty." he said, Lucas smiling at his old friend.

"Keep it up and I'll switch on that jackhammer." he said, Finn laughing.

"Dreams may come true, sexy."

Lucas smiled, winking at his old friend.

"Show us the magic, Luke. We'll all see the love behind it." he said, Lucas nodding, everyone on the edge of their seats.

"Let's talk a walk back into yesterday's truths, my family. From what happened after Hudson and I disappeared in this room. I hope I won't shock you too much." he smiled, everyone smiling at him.

"Your love shocks all of us, Lucas. Astound us with your story. I sense great faith in it." Reverend Lewis said, Cardinal Santiago nodding, Lucas smiling at the two clergymen.

"God's love astounds all of us. Let's watch it unfold against the evil." Hudson said.

Lucas' eyes met Hudson's grey pools, the young man nodding at him.

"Evil infiltrates many hearts, many lost to its vileness. But a loving heart always holds its love close. And goodness can always break it free." Lucas smiled, everyone suddenly feeling a smothering love surrounding them, the room going silent.

"Love destroys all evil." Lucas said, the young man beginning to speak, everyone lost in his opening words.

A Day Earlier

Lucas opened his violet pools, staring into total darkness.

The blackness around him was pitch dark.

Its blackness began to give off a graying light, Lucas realizing he was now in a pitch-black tunnel.

He sensed within his soul where he was.

He looked around, not seeing Hudson standing beside him.

Separated in the flowing magic.

I sense why.

I was short of my target.

And where did you land, Hudson?

The two men had disappeared from the Receiving Room, Lucas' sudden magic flowing them forward.

Lucas slowly moved forward through the darkness, his now green eyes glowing.

His senses were on alert, the young man taking in every sight and sound around him, Lucas now seeing a softer light glowing ahead of him.

It flickered as a candle flame would.

He now saw there was a row of torches lining both walls of the tunnel he found himself in.

He walked forward, passing the torches, a greater light shining ahead.

Lucas immediately sensed where he was.

His magic's target had been almost right on.

He walked out of the tunnel, his eyes taking in the golden glow of the trough-filled treasures lining both sides of his stone pathway.

His eyes scanned the room, seeing the other seven pathways empty of life, all eight stone spokes of the wheel of the Treasure Room silent.

He saw the golden throne in the room's center, the throne empty.

He walked forward, his senses on keen alert.

Lucas made it to the throne in its center, looking around the silent room.

He sighed, feeling the gifts within his soul opening.

He walked up onto the throne's platform, looking at the golden sarcophagus behind it, its entrance closed.

Lucas felt the magic come alive within him, the young man smiling, turning and sitting down upon the throne, looking around at the golden troughs surrounding him, their golden hues seemingly brightening.

"Only the King of Life sits upon that throne, usurper." a deep voice said from the dark tunnel at the end of the stone path to Lucas' right.

Lucas' green pools turned towards the voice, a dark shadow slowly walking out of that darkness; a hooded, cloaked man walking out into the glowing light.

"There are many usurpers to many thrones, lost one. I can sit upon most." Lucas said, the man in the darkness walking a few feet forward, stopping.

"My, you've gotten godly, Lucas. Your magic isn't as strong as you believe, as I've always known. You can't stop me, as you now understand."

Lucas stared at the cloaked man, his gnarly hands coming out from his robe, pushing his hooded cloak back from his face.

"The Book of Life has chosen your path, evil. I have always sensed you did not perish. Goodness is always followed by evil. But God's magic can scar evil's soul." Lucas said, the robed man staring at him.

His face was ancient, his eyes dark and almost black, his bearded face ashen white and now showing scars.

"You shall pay for every mark that book's magic gave me the last time, Lucas. No one can stop my destiny. No prison of your making can hold me, as I sense you've reasoned out." he said, Lucas staring at him.

"Evil has no destiny, it is always there. And it can be destroyed."

The man laughed, his deep laugh resonating in the silent room.

"No one can destroy me. A greater magic thrives within me."
Lucas stared at him, the young man's eyes glowing a greater emerald.

"We all have magic, spawn. Where is Hudson?"

The man smiled, his face etched with meanness.

"You never knew, did you?" he said, Lucas staring at him.

"Not until my last voyage through a greater evil. That's when I sensed what you had done to him. And what you thought destiny would give you." Lucas said, the man laughing again.

"You do have strong magic, Lucas. A magic I sensed my own was equal to. Your attack on myself here showed me that. I am only surprised once, usurper." he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"How you forget, monster. I've surprised you thrice." Lucas said, the man's brow furrowing.

"Have you forgotten our meetings earlier, false Haven? And then possessor of Sheridan. I pulled you from both those souls." Lucas said, the man staring at him.

"That was only a small part of myself, Lucas. That prison you sent my evil to I broke from easily, returning here. And Sheridan's soul was easy to possess, as Haven's once was. Once the fools gave into my greatness."

"Haven didn't give into your greatness, monster. He banished his own soul to save his family. A sacrifice of great love."

The man laughed again, sneering at Lucas.

"Love. As I said, he was a fool. I hope he burns in hell forever. And his family I will soon own." the man said, Lucas rising from his seat, staring at the man.

"His love is within my own. I have freed him from that trap of your making."

The man looked surprised, stepping back.

"You're lying!" he said, Lucas staring at him.

"You didn't know the true greatness of that man's soul, monster. The minions of Hell could never infiltrate its goodness. God protects all of his devoted seraphim."

The man stared at him.

"He was an angel? Very clever. But of no importance. I will devour him as I shall the others."

"You shall devour no one. And you don't even sense the truth of what surrounds you." Lucas said, stepping off the throne platform.

The man looked around, sensing all around him.

"Nothing surrounds me but the treasures I have accumulated through the eons. You are now in my domain."

"You mean the treasures you stole. They are of God's destiny. A destiny you've unwittingly walked into." Lucas said, the man grinning at him.

"I am free of all interference, upstart." the man said, his eyes furrowing.

"God doesn't exist, Lucas. These are my treasures." he said, staring at the young man.

"Yes, the treasures you've stolen are here, lost in time. But I'm talking of this room itself. Once created by a lost king. When was the last time you ventured out of here as yourself? Would you like to know that I knew when that was? And why you haven't since?"

The man stared at Lucas, looking softly confused.

"What are you talking about, fool?" he said, his stature seemingly rising, his form increasing.

"I sensed that last voyage, evil. At the same moment I pulled your evil out of Sheridan Whitecastle's soul. I didn't sense where that evil went after. I couldn't stop it then, but I can stop it now. For the evil's now returned back to the trap." Lucas said, his eyes glowing brighter.

"You cannot stop me, Lucas. But I can destroy you." he said, the man moving, Lucas stepping back, walking backwards down the stone pathway he'd entered.

The man moved forward, walking upon onto the throne platform, sitting down on the throne.

"This is my throne alone, Lucas. I am the King of Life."

"You are a spawn of evil, lost in time, lost in vileness. There is only one King of Life, and he resides in Heaven's paradise." Lucas said, the man laughing loudly.

"You are a fool if you believe that. I am all-powerful, immortal and strong! I am Kurucu, the God of Life!" he said, his form changing, the man now a foot taller and more muscular, his robes stretching around him.

"Kurucu was a lost king of Egypt. You possessed him, destroying most of him. But the goodness of his soul still survives. I alone possess it." Lucas said, staring at the evil before him.

The man stared at the necklace hanging around Lucas' neck.

"Kurucu was a fool who I now own. And I'll take that trinket back from your dead carcass. You shall die as all have died, Lucas." he said, Lucas staring at him.

"Alsarius didn't die. Kavinus didn't die. Their love is alive but separated." Lucas said, the man smiling at him.

"I have them captured, I only need to reach their souls and I'll devour both. As I did Kurucu. As I shall you." he said, Lucas staring at him.

"As you think you've devoured Hudson's? Let him walk his path. I am ready." Lucas said, the man laughing.

"So you do know your fate? You are the one who has walked into the trap of your undoing, Lucas. And all I had to use was your own love. It has guided many into their fate."

"I will show him the truth, monster, as you shall see." Lucas said, the young man staring at him, readying his soul.

"Prepare to die, Lucas! I only wish I could savor its life-ending deliciousness totally myself! But you've been a pain in my side for far too long! I'll use a part of myself to destroy you! For I know your weakness!"

"Family is not a weakness, monster. It is the salvation of all souls. As is love."

The man laughed, snapping his fingers.

Lucas' eyes moved, seeing a shadow walk out of the darkness that had concealed the evil before.

Lucas stared into two glowing red eyes, a half naked man walking out of the darkness.

Lucas stared at his cousin, Hudson Carlisle lost in the evil.

The young man was shirtless, his muscular chest showing.

"He was easy to possess, Lucas. All men are." the man said, seated on his throne between the two men.

"He is my cousin, he is a part of my soul. I know your evil flew to him when it left Sheridan. He will be the last you shall possess. I will free him with a greater love." Lucas said, the man laughing.

"He will feast on your throat and devour the life out of you! Destroy him, my warrior!" the man said, Hudson slowly moving forward.

Lucas stared at his cousin, seeing the young man now had a silver sword in his hand, having pulled it out of the trough beside him.

It seemed to shine in brightness, its long edge gleaming with razor-like sharpness.

The man roared, moving towards Lucas.

In The Receiving Room

Finn rose to his feet staring at Hudson with concern, then Lucas.

"Hudson attacked you? Evil possesses him?" Finn said, Lucas staring at his friend.

"Hudson was surrounded by evil, Finny. Any man without magic couldn't stand against it." he said, Josh rising from his seat, walking up to his husband.

"But you sensed it within him. The evil went to him after Sheridan's death?" he said, his arm going around Lucas.

"Yes, my love. I made the mistake of not sensing where the evil would go next. It wasn't till I was under God's markings in Hell that I sensed who was now possessed." he said, Josh kissing his cheek.

"You didn't even know Hudson then, my love. You had no way of knowing where the evil would venture next." he said, Lucas nodding.

"But I knew it wasn't destroyed, Josh. As I knew when I sent it away in Haven, then returning in Sheridan. I should have sensed it would attack my family again. I searched all I knew within my family, I found the evil nowhere. I thought perhaps I'd actually finally destroyed it. I should have searched everywhere. Through all my outstretched families. For that I seek deep forgiveness from you, Hudson." Lucas said, everyone seeing the tears in the young man's eyes, Josh pulling him close.

Hudson rose from his seat, Haven watching his every move.

The young reporter walked up to Lucas, the young men staring at each other.

"You did not know me, Lucas. I did not know you. I felt the evil's possession, my own self unable to fight it. I carried it with me always after that. Even as I appeared down in the Treasure Room as you pulled me there."

"I'm sorry, Hudson. I had to pull you there to fight that evil again."

Hudson smiled, leaning forward and kissing Lucas' cheek.

"I am glad I now know you, Lucas. I feel your love as all do." he smiled, the young man walking back, returning to Haven's arms, the man staring at him.

"Continue the story, Luke." Hudson said, Finn staring at the young man, then looking at Lucas.

"Did you destroy his possessing evil?" he said, Skyler pulling Finn back to his seat.

"Silence, my love. Let Lucas tell the story."

"Gag your dog, Sky. I'll continue." Lucas smiled, looking around the room, the young man speaking again, Finn staring at him.

Back In The Treasure Room

Lucas stared at the sword in Hudson's hand, the man moving towards him, his hairy muscular form gleaming with sweat.

The man on the throne smiled, seeing the defenseless young man about to meet his doom.

Lucas stared at the sword in Hudson's hand, his mind flowing through history.

That sword was ancient in its worth, in the possession it gave its first host.

The Sword of Dagon, a powerful magic-infused sword once carried by Goliath, a biblical monster of behemoth size.

The power of God had destroyed that monster through the faithful soul of a young man named David.

Lucas saw Hudson raise the sword, Lucas seeing its silver sheen flicker.

The young man was advancing upon him, moving with evil determination.

"He carries magic, Lucas. A magic that will easily destroy you. My own and evil's etched within it. Prepare to fall to my greatness." the monster upon the throne said, grinning an evil grin of total ownership.

"The greater the evil, the faster it falls against God's love." Lucas said, the man looking around him, Hudson now about twenty feet away.

Lucas caught a soft glow beside him in the trough, its center piercing in its shine.

Lucas moved, his hand reaching downward into the golden trough on his left.

Lucas' scarred hand wrapped around what he felt was leather, the man rising to his feet, a leather band now in his hand's grasp.

Lucas felt a great weight in the band's hidden folds, his soul feeling a greater weight now within it.

"Come to justice, evil. I shall save the remaining soul." Lucas said, Hudson roaring, charging right at Lucas, the sword moving on its own.

Lucas flung his hand back, momentum flowing in his forward motion right after.

Out of the leather band a small stone missile flew with a flash, heading for Hudson.

It hit the young man dead center in his chest, the young man propelled backwards with great force, sliding across the stone pathway, the sword falling from his hand.

Lucas saw the monster upon the throne rise from his feet, staring in shock at Hudson's now fallen body.

"No, that's impossible!" he said, Lucas moving forward, bending down and picking up the sword laying beside Hudson's comatose body.

"God's love shines within my soul, within his treasures. Evil falls to its glow." Lucas said, his eyes glowing emerald green, then white.

The sword in his hand suddenly began to glow white in Lucas' hand.

Lucas hurled the sword towards the monster upon the throne, the sword embedding itself in its chest, the man screaming.

The sword suddenly disappeared, a white light now flowing across the monster's chest and body.

It screamed, Lucas staring at it.

"Burn from the light of God's love, spawn. It is you who now has been trapped within His love. Until the final hour." Lucas said, the monster screaming and lost in the white light, the light brightening, then disappearing in an instant.

The throne was empty, the room bathed in silence.

Lucas moved, lowering his own body to Hudson's side, the nearly naked man still showing signs of breathing.

Lucas' scarred hand went over the wound on Hudson's chest, the hole suddenly glowing and disappearing.

Hudson's eyes flickered, then slowly opened, their redness now gone, two pools of tearing grayness staring back at Lucas.

"No! No, stop! There's so much evil!! Help me!!" he screamed, Lucas pulling the young man upward into his arms, holding him close, the man sobbing against him.

Lucas held him for a long time, the young man gradually sobbing out his emotions.

Hudson's head slowly raised, Lucas' now emerald pools staring into his wet gray pools.

"Come, my friend. You must bathe in His waters. And truth must flow through us." Lucas said, the young man rising to his feet, Hudson lifted up into his arms.

Lucas moved, carrying the young man with him, walking upon the throne platform, the golden sarcophagus behind it beginning to open.

Lucas moved around the throne, walking towards the dark opening.

Hudson's head moved forward, staring into blackness, the young man suddenly seeing thousands of stars.

Hudson then closed his eyes, feeling deep love suddenly surrounding him, Lucas holding him close.

The two walked into the darkness, the golden sarcophagus closing behind them.

The Plains of Life

Hudson felt a wetness around him, and a warmth of loving life.

He also felt two wet strong arms holding him.

He opened his eyes slowly, staring into two blue pools of unbelievable love.

"Welcome back, Hudson." Lucas smiled, Hudson staring at him.

He felt the water surrounding him, the young man floating in it, Lucas swimming beside him, his arms around his back and legs.

"I think you can swim now on your own." Lucas smiled, slowly releasing the young man, Hudson moving his arms and legs.

The man felt his buoyancy, keeping his body afloat in the warm water, the young man looking around at his surroundings.

Before him stood a waterfall, its waters flowing downward into the pool where they swam.

A beautiful scene of natural beauty surrounded them; nature showing its flowery, grassy beauty.

The young man scanned his own body, his hands rubbing over his wet hairy chest, no sign of the wound now showing.

"I'm healed! The wound's gone!!" he softly said, his gray eyes staring into Lucas' blue pools, the young man floating near him.

"Love heals all wounds, Hudson. How does your soul feel?" he said, staring at the young man.

The young man closed his eyes, feeling his mind and soul, then opening his gray eyes again.

"The evil's gone! I feel only myself! I haven't felt alone for a long time." he said, staring at Lucas, the young man quietly staring at him.

"Your eyes, Lucas! They're. . .they're now blue!" he now noticed, the young man lowering his head, then moving in the water, swimming across the calm pool.
Hudson's eyes followed him, seeing the young man gain his feet, a vision of naked beauty walking out of the water, Hudson staring at his muscled sinewy back and firm smooth butt.

Hudson suddenly realized he was naked as well, all his clothing gone.

He blushed, watching Lucas sit down on a boulder on the shore's edge, the young man staring at him.

"There is no modesty in God's embrace, Hudson." he said softly, his voice carrying across the pool.

Hudson moved, swimming towards Lucas, now taking in all of his naked vision, the young man stunning.

Lucas smiled at him, no embarrassment showing in his blue pools.

The young reporter smiled back, that look giving him courage, Hudson rising out of the water, Lucas taking in the young man's muscular hairy form.

The young man walked onto the shore, sitting down beside Lucas' wet self.

"Where are we, Lucas? And why are we naked?" he said, Lucas smiling at the young man, his blue eyes looking around the pool.

"We are as He made us, Hudson. We are in the pool of my dreams, the sanctuary of many. God's love surrounds us, Hudson. We are His children." he said, Hudson looking surprised.

"Your family told me of the pool in your mind. Of its appearing on Embrace Island. That it was a manifestation of your love." he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"It's something like that, Hudson. And it's more." Lucas said, looking towards the waterfall.

"This pool I've always seen in my dreams, Hudson. It took me a long time to realize what it really is."

"What is it, Lucas?" the young man said, staring into his blue eyes.

"It's myself, Hudson. It's the formation of my magic. The center of it. It crosses all paths of time and existence. It was waiting for me here behind the Treasure Room. Even the evil there didn't know of its existence behind Kurucu's tomb. The Treasure Room has now become a trap for it. To steal goodness is to be always marked by it." Lucas said, the young man standing up, Hudson rising to his feet as well, both men staring at the waterfall.

"Kurucu left this pool here for myself. The last residuals of his magic forming an oasis, lost in time. Himself lost upon the sands of time, lost within the magic." Lucas said, talking more to himself than Hudson, the young man quietly staring at him.

"You destroyed the evil, Lucas. You have freed my soul." Hudson said, Lucas lowering his head for a moment, Hudson's hand going tentatively to the man's shoulder, sensing Lucas was emotional.

"I entrapped your soul, Hudson. I didn't destroy the evil a long time ago. I let it escape and find you. For that you have my deepest apologies." he said, Hudson lowering his eyes.

"I was alone in Rome, working on an assignment for His Holiness when I felt the evil enter me. Even the holy church couldn't waylay its path." Hudson said, raising his eyes, meeting Lucas' blue pools.

"Evil finds the most giving souls, Hudson. It entered you so it could find another way of hurting me, and hopefully destroying me. I could not let it remain there."

Hudson teared up, his hand rubbing Lucas' shoulder.

"Thank you, Lucas. For saving me. I'm sorry I attacked you. I was. . .I wasn't able to stop myself." he said, Lucas smiling, leaning over and kissing the young man's cheek.

"I felt your love within yourself fighting the evil, Hudson. I was drawn to that, that love guiding my hands to what I needed to destroy the evil."

"What. . .what was that you hit me with? It felt like liquid love when it hit me."

Lucas smiled, looking into the pool.

"It was the Rock of God. A stone of His pure love. Only one other has ever used it. Against another monster. You held in your hands the sword once possessed by that same monster. That young warrior was David."

"You mean. . .you mean that sword was Goliath's?! That's. . .that's unbelievable!" the young man said, Lucas nodding.

"Life is unbelievable, Hudson. Today I've given you yours back. That's all I ever wanted for you." he said, Hudson smiling.

"Was Goliath possessed by the same evil?" he said, looking at Lucas.

"Yes, Hudson. An evil older than time perhaps. An evil I can't totally destroy. It's not gone, Hudson. But I've given it a surprise it never knew existed." Lucas said, sitting down on the boulder again, Hudson joining him.

"What surprise, Luke?" he said, Lucas staring at him.

"That its greatness isn't as great as it thinks it is. This is four times I've thwarted its desires. It called itself the King of Life. It will never be that. Only God is that. And shortly it will see that." Lucas said, Hudson staring at him.

"You never answered my question, Lucas. Why are your eyes blue?" he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"Here in this truer pool I have his eyes, Hudson. The hidden soul of Kurucu within me shines forth. Only Meresankh knows of the greater beauty of his blue irises. Perhaps she'll see them again soon." Lucas said, looking back at the pool.

"You hold so much within you, Lucas. So much magic and mystery. A lost king residing within your soul, his magic a part of you."

Lucas smiled, leaning over and putting his arm around Hudson's naked shoulders.

"You hold much within yourself, Hudson. So much gathering love. That is your own magic." Lucas said, the young man's gray eyes meeting his blue pools again.

"I've been lost even before the evil claimed me, Lucas. I've felt so alone." he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"You are beautiful and stunningly handsome, Hudson. Any man could fill his soul with your love. I sense you don't feel so alone anymore."

"You know, don't you?"

The young man smiled, looking at the young man naked beside him.

"I cannot reason life's paths, Hudson. I only feel the love forming them. My uncle needs your love."

The young man blushed, staring at the pool.

"I've never met anyone like him, Lucas. He's an angel. But his real self is so much more. I feel so much love behind his eyes." the young man said, Lucas smiling to himself.

"There is a lot of love lost there, Hudson. Your love is pulling that love forward. The evil that possessed him--as it did yourself--used his image to hurt many. He feels he was robbed of love. That's the last lingering hurt within my uncle's soul. Your love is the answer to that hurt. For you've both felt evil, and have been saved from it."

"By you, Lucas." Hudson said, Lucas softly blushing, the young man staring at the love staring back at him.

"By me, yes. But through another's guidance." Lucas said, his eyes scanning the young man's muscular hairy physique.

"Haven will love you, Hudson. That united love will be worth all." Lucas said, Hudson smiling and blushing.

His eyes scanned Lucas' nakedness, taking in the young man's muscular smoothness.
"I see your soulmates have much to be thankful for as well. You're unbelievable." Hudson said, Lucas smiling at him.

"They are my soul, Hudson. Otherwise I'd be knee deep within you, sexy."
Hudson laughed, blushing again, Lucas pulling him closer.

"I feel the innocence of your love, Hudson. The experience with his love will be unlike anything you've known. Your innocence and love will make an angel's soul come alive. I envy you the happiness."
The young man blushed, looking at the calm water before him.

"I. . .I think I love him." he said, Lucas smiling, the young man releasing his cousin, rising to his feet again.

"I know you love him, Hudson. I have felt your healed love." the young man smiled, diving forward into the pool again.

Hudson smiled, the young man rising and diving after Lucas.

He felt the warmth of the love flowing around him, two blue pools staring at him.

"All the lost love of the world joined before us, Hudson. Its rays warm this pool. I need to let you see what shall be." Lucas said, the man swimming towards the other end of the pool, Hudson following him.

Lucas rose out of the water, walking onto that shore, walking through the long grass of a spring meadow, Hudson following him.

The young man looked forward over Lucas' shoulders, stopping in his tracks.
"Good God!" he said, staring forward.

Lucas smiled, now standing beside him, their shoulders now touching.

"God is good, Hudson. Life begins here." Lucas said, the young men looking forward, staring at a sight out of divinity.

Before them were grassy plains of immeasurable length stretching as far as he could see.

Upon those plains were thousands of souls, walking around in a white glowing light.

Some joined, embracing each other, others joined in seemingly families, all looking forward, a new sight catching Hudson's eyes.

"What. . .what. . .what is that?" he softly said, feeling Lucas' arm going around him.

"It is the light of His love, Hudson. It is His home." Lucas said, Hudson staring at a beaming light off in the distance, a distance between it and the throng of souls.

"Why don't they walk forward, it is so close!" Hudson said, Lucas staring at the young man.

"They await the angels and the coming battle. Then they shall be called to His love. All will be called to His love." Lucas said, Hudson's eyes moved from the vision before him, the young man staring into his blue eyes, feeling something now between them, Lucas having turned to face him.

Hudson looked downward, a leather book laying in Lucas' hand.

"What. . .what is that?" he softly said, his eyes meeting Lucas' again.

"It is the Book of Life, the book of all souls, Hudson. Yours in inscribed within, as is mine. As are all. I have written new words beside yours." Lucas said, Hudson staring at him.

"What. . .what does it now say?" Hudson looking down again.

Lucas smiled, the book now gone from his hands, Hudson staring at Lucas' flaccid center.

Hudson raised his head again, staring into Lucas' blue pools.

"Angel love is heaven, Hudson. You now have it, and you shall be called forward with him someday. God awaits your love. Haven awaits yours in the real world." Lucas smiled, Hudson tearing up.

He suddenly felt two arms go around him, his body lifted into Lucas' strong arms again.

Hudson now stared into two glowing blue irises.

"He needs your love, Hudson. I need to feel it for a moment as well." Lucas smiled, the young man turning and carrying Hudson back towards the pool, Hudson suddenly feeling the water surround him, the warm wet love flooding him.

After a few moments he broke the surface of the pool, finding himself swimming alone.

"Lucas?" he said, looking around, then he yelled his name again.

He was met with only silence for a few minutes.

Then he heard a soft laughter to his left, his head turning.

His eyes widened, staring at a young man standing on the far shore, right beside the boulder where they'd sat.

The man was handsome, young and beautiful, wearing a white robe, two large golden wings spread out behind him.

Hudson stared at this new angel, the young being smiling back.

"He hides from truth, my child. He hides from life. I will draw him to that truth. And the world will rejoice. Your love awaits." the young angel smiled, then laughed.

The clearing suddenly was flooded with white light, Hudson lost in it, closing his eyes against it.

He slowly opened his gray eyes, staring around the Receiving Room, staggering forward, Haven's arms wrapping around him.

The Receiving Room

Everyone stared at Lucas, the young man now standing with his back to everyone, his scarred hand leaning on the fireplace mantle.

Hudson rose from his seat, Haven staring at him with awed wonder.

Hudson walked up to Lucas, his hand going to his shoulder.

"What. . .who. . .what did I see, Lucas?"

Rosa Sharon rose from her seat, her form changing, Meresankh staring at Lucas.

"Kurucu's Pool, Lucas! You were in Kurucu's Pool!" she said, Lucas turning and looking at her.

"Yes, Meresankh. I believe it always was there within his magic." he said, looking back at the fire in the fireplace.

She walked up to Lucas and Hudson, the young woman nodding.

"He only spoke once to me of a pool, Lucas. He said that he'd seen it in his dreams. A pool of stunning beauty, of warm love and sunshine. He felt within his soul that it was his sanctuary. He said to myself that he hoped one day that he and I would reside there, for all eternity." she said, Hudson looking at her.

"I was a beautiful pool, Meresankh. I was as if God had created his own paradise for him." he said, looking towards Lucas who'd turned back again.

Meresankh's eyes met Lucas' violet, the young woman smiling.

"His eyes were the bluest I have ever known. They were like ocean sapphires, their blueness alive with love." she said, Lucas smiling.

"They still are, Meresankh. They are yours." Lucas said, she smiling.

"You haven't answered that question, Lucas. Who did Hudson see at the end of his stay there?" she said, Hudson looking between her and Lucas.

"I do not know, Meresankh." Lucas said, turning back to the fireplace.

"I have seen all the angelic hosts, Lucas. In the choirs of God's angels I do not know of any angel with golden wings. To wear that color would be only at God's behest. " she said, Lucas nodding, looking back at the two again.

"Was it. . .was it God I saw?" Hudson said, his eyes dawning with awed wonder, Haven now out of his chair, his arm going around the younger man.

"God has never shown us his true self, Hudson. I can't really answer that question." Meresankh said, her form changing, Rosa Sharon now shown, the young girl smiling and walking back to her brother, climbing into his lap, smiling at Lucas.

"But He loves to surprise." she smiled, snuggling against Colton.

Lucas looked at Hudson and Haven.

"Where did you go, Luke? After we fell into the pool, you disappeared." Hudson said, Lucas looking around at everyone.

"I had to attend to something on the field, my friend. When I returned you had left." Lucas said, Lewis rising from his chair, walking up to Lucas, staring at him, his hands bowed in faith.

"The entrance to heaven, Lucas! You and Hudson have seen the pathway to God! Across that field!" Lewis said, his eyes watering.

"We all shall walk that path ourselves someday, good Reverend. I've just been allocated to seeing it early, for many reasons."

Josh rose from his seat, his arms going around Lucas.

"I hope it's a long way off, my love." he said, Lucas smiling his Josh smile at him.

"Life for us is a path of discoveries, my love. I'm not leaving before the fun really happens." Lucas smiled, Josh smiling widely, their lips meeting.
Hudson watched the two, the young man feeling the love surrounding him as well.

"Thank you, Lucas, for saving me from the evil. And for showing me the coming revelations. Everyone will be awed by the beauty of that field and the shining light." he said, Lucas smiling at him.

"You see life now with love, Hudson. Surrounding you is the love you need. The love I always wanted for you and for you, my uncle." Lucas said, Haven moving forward, his hands going to Lucas' shoulders.

"I can never repay you for what you did for Hudson, Lucas. You saved him so he could be loved by myself. You've given both of us our greatest dreams." he said, Lucas seeing the soft tears in both his and Hudson's eyes.

"Life begins today for both of you, my uncle and cousin. As I said, the fun's just beginning." Lucas smiled, Haven hugging his nephew close, Hudson smiling at the young man.

"Our family is blessed with your love, Lucas!" Haven said, releasing his nephew, his eyes meeting Hudson's gray pools.

"Lucas is correct, Haven. Today begins our new life. I want to walk the path to that shining light with you at my side. I need your love." Hudson said, Haven smiling widely, his arms going around the younger man.

"I need your love, Hudson." Haven said, the young man blushing.

"As you heard in the story, I've never had love, or been loved, Haven. This is all new to me. Please let me go slow." Hudson said, Haven smiling.

"Your love is new to me, Hudson. Let's go at our own pace. We both need to anchor our souls to each other." the older man smiling, everyone around them hearing the happiness in their voices.

Lucas moved, his hands going to each of their shoulders, the two men feeling a sudden love fill their souls.

"Consider those souls now one." he smiled, stepping back, the two men staring at each other.

"Oh God, Hudson! I feel your love within me." Haven said, the man moving, the younger man's lips meeting his, the two kissing deeply.

Josh's arms went around Lucas again, kissing his cheek.

"Your love unites all, my angel." he said, Lucas smiling at him, his violet pools softly sparkling.

Everyone moved as Haven and Hudson broke their lips, the couple surrounded by everyone.

Lucas smiled, sipping at the cup of coffee Mavis had handed him, the young man seated with his three soulmates.

Everyone was relaxing around the room, the new couple talking with everyone, their eyes constantly going to each other.

"Those two are showing all the signs of new, needful love." Lance smiled, seated beside Lucas, the young man smiling at him.

"Something tells me tonight's love in this house is going to be wild." Justin smirked, seated on Josh's other side, Josh snuggled against Lucas.

"His lust train has a one-track mind." Josh smiled, slapping Justin's knee, the man smiling and blushing.

"Hey, Lucas got to see that young stud in the buff. Lucky bastard." Justin whispered, Lucas laughing, leaning over and kissing Justin's cheek.

"That train is off the rails." he said, Lance laughing, Lucas smiling and looking around the room.

He sighed, setting his coffee cup down.

Jessica and Cindy walked into the room, the two carrying Joshy and Justy.

"Daddy!" Justy said loudly, Cindy smiling and setting the boy down, the boy making a beeline for Lucas, Joshy on his heels.

Lucas smiled, picking his son up, the boy standing in his lap, Joshy now in Justin's.

"You goes to light, Daddy?" the boy smiled, Lucas kissing his cheek.

"Yes, my son. My love's grown." he smiled, the boy grinning.

"Wots of wuv now. We's grow too!" he smiled, Lucas smiling back at him.

"For all your long life, Justy." he said, the boy grinning, climbing into Lance's lap, snuggling against him.

"They knew, Luke?" Lance said, Lucas smiling and kissing his lips.

"They are a part of me, Lancy. Their love is my love." he smiled, Lance smiling back.

"Lucky us." Lance smiled.

The two boys giggled, talking quietly with their fathers.

Jessica and Cindy smiled, the two sitting down with Jeremy, Bruno and Zac.

Lucas smiled at all five, the five smiling back.

"So much love around me." Lucas smiled, looking around the room.

"I feel your awed wonder, Uncle Lewis. Speak from your soul." Lucas said, his eyes meeting the minister seated with his husband and Cardinal Santiago, Lewis staring at Lucas.

Jacques looked at his husband, the man having felt his awed wonder, his own self overcome by the story.

Lewis rose from his seat walking towards Lucas, the minister pulling up a chair and sitting down beside Lucas' couch.

"Lucas, I am in awe of what's been shown and said here today. To think that you've seen the entrance to Heaven. That you've been that close to God!" the man said, Lucas smiling and patting his knee.

"We all should be close to God, Uncle. His love shines all around us." Lucas said, the man nodding.

"Yes, but you've seen and witnessed so much more. Have you seen God?" the minister asked, his eyes showing a look of deep wonder and faith.

"I have seen life, Uncle Lewis. God is life. We all see the wonder of His love."

"That's really not an answer, Lucas. I need to know." the older man said, Lucas smiling at him, leaning forward and kissing his cheek.

"You are the most faithful of souls, Uncle. Even more so than Cardinal Fredrick or even the angels that surround us. God gives faith to His most trusted faithful. You can stand proud with all of them." Lucas said, Lewis tearing up, wiping his eyes with a handkerchief he'd pulled from his pocket, Jacques looking at his husband with love.

"Your words are written with His love, Lucas. I am honored and humbled to hear them." the man said, Lucas smiling at him.

"I do not know if I am worthy enough to see what my eyes tomorrow may see. I cannot fathom what may come to pass." the man said, Lucas hearing the honesty and love in the man's voice.

"I gave you sight to see what must be seen, Uncle Lewis. God's love awaits you and all of us. Time will show so much." Lucas said, the man smiling at him.

"Your words hearten my soul, Lucas. I will watch all that I see, I will take in all that you show. I love you, my new nephew." Lewis smiled, his eyes now tearing, everyone hearing the honesty in his words.

Lucas smiled, the older man leaning forward and kissing all four men and their sons.

"A family of love I see before me. We are all so blessed to see your love." the man said, rising from his chair, Jacques now at his husband's side, his arm going around him.

"We see before us our nephew and his family, mon cheri. That is what's important." Jacques smiled, Lucas smiling at him.

"The field awaits all of us, Uncle Jacques." Lucas said, the man nodding.

"Is it time, Lucas? For your discovery?" he said, Lucas smiling, little Justy and Joshy smiling at their father from their other fathers' laps.

"Brings her out, Daddy?" Joshy said, Lucas smiling at him, leaning over and kissing his son's cheek.

"Yes, my son. Let's all play in the open." Lucas smiled, the young man rising from his seat, Lewis and Jacques looking at each other.

"What did you mean, Lucas? Time for what, Jacques? And who's she that Joshy asked about?" Lewis said, looking at Lucas, Jacques smiling at his husband.

"I believe I stumbled upon a truth, Lucas." Jacques said, Lucas smiling and nodding at him.

"Your investigating bore fruit, Uncle Frenchie." Lucas smiled, Jacques beaming.

"I am your uncle in all ways, Lucas. I ascend to your intellect." the Frenchman said, bowing to the younger man.

Lucas smiled, hugging his uncle close.

"All the Pompous Darlings are my aunts and uncles for life. Friends of my father and mother are family." he said, Lewis and Jacques smiling, Haven and Vivian smiling also.

"We are honored, Lucas." Lewis said, Lucas smiling and kissing his cheek, hugging him close, Jacques smiling at Lucas.

"The final stage is set, mon neveu." Jacques smiled, Lucas smiling at him.

"Sit down, my uncles. I'll take it from here, Jacques." Lucas smiled, the Frenchman smiling, guiding his husband back to their seats, Lewis staring at Jacques with confusion.

Lucas smiled, looking around the room.

He walked back in front of the fireplace, looking into the flames.

"Hearts burn when love is never extinguished." Lucas said, the young man smiling, everyone smiling back at him, the room full of his family.

"Something had bothered me for quite some time, everyone. A soft slip of the tongue, a sentence spoken long ago. A hidden truth in search of an answer. My dear Uncle Jacques has guided me to seek that truth. He spoke of it to me the last time I was here in Kurucu's Haven. Of the lost truth behind the words. After that I sent him on a private quest for answers." Lucas said, his eyes meeting two blue pools, someone looking at him confused.
"What words, Lucas?" Emerson said, Lucas' eyes meeting his grandfather's green pools.

Lucas smiled at his grandfather, their love showing.

"Words hidden behind long forgotten mysteries, Grandfather. Someone himself is in search of truth as well. I think it's time the last angel began its quest. I have the answer to all their lost hopes." Lucas said, the young man smiling.

Everyone looked around them, Lucas folding his hands in front of him, his scarred hand showing.

Someone rose from his seat, Lucas smiling at him.

"You know, don't you?" Grayson Wainwright said, standing beside his husband, Gabriel looking up at him with confusion.

"Yes, Great Uncle. You couldn't hide from me."

Grayson teared up, walking forward, stopping in front of Lucas.

"It's time for the last angel to come forward." Lucas said, Grayson sobbing, the older man pulling Lucas into his arms.

Everyone rose from their seats, staring in shock, seeing the glow now surrounding the two.
