Peyton Halliwell dodged a fireball and swung her hand in the direction the fire ball came in, causing the demon to fly backwards and smash against the alley wall. Matthew Halliwell lay on the ground, bleeding out. Peyton ran over to Matthew and bent down to him, checking her cousin out. She paused for three seconds before turning to get her throat snatched up by the demon.

"You're finally going to pay, witch." The demon said quickly.

"Not this time, Helzae." Matthew said, throwing his hand up and causing the demon to fly back and hit the wall again!

The demon stood and disappeared.

"Peyton, go!" Matthew said.

"I'm not leaving you!" Peyton shouted.

"It's okay!" Matthew frowned, "I'll be okay."

Peyton nodded and orbed away into a daycare. She was promptly clipped by a woman, who crashed to the floor. Peyton stood to see Helzae, who tossed a fireball at the woman. Peyton waved her hand, causing the fireball to go back in the direction of the demon! The demon was knocked down. Peyton pulled at her jacket and pulled out a potion. She quickly threw it on him, causing him to combust.

"Thank you!" The woman said, standing with her baby.

"Glad I can help." Peyton smiled, "Hopefully that didn't change too much."

"What?" The woman asked, "That's it! I'm moving back. This place is lousy with demons." She said, turning and walking away.

"Wait, Caly!" Peyton yelled, "That is not good."

Chapter 103: Future Folly

"Yeah, dad, I'm actually here." I smiled, "Definitely not in Oklahoma anymore. Yeah, I start in a couple of days. I'll call Caleb after I eat." I said into the phone as I walked down the crowded street, "I'm surprised. Everyone's pretty nice here, I can't tell if they're checking me out or if they're really welcoming. Yeah, I got it. You have to go. I love you, too, dad."

I ended the call and began walking into this new restaurant called Halliwells. It was supposed to be a really good place to get food. It got something like five stars. I walked in and was seated at one of the tables by a tall guy with blonde hair. He kept smiling at me and I smiled back. I was single, I could flirt. I ordered, quickly deciding what I wanted. Everything looked good but I picked my top favorite and splurged. I was thoroughly enjoying my experience when I overheard a conversation.

"Mom, I'm volunteering here while Shannon is off today." The tall, blonde guy said to a shorter brunette woman who seemed to like to animate herself when she talked, "I don't want to talk about my failed marriage."

"Wyatt, I'm not trying to make you feel bad or anything, I just think if you talk about it..."

"Mom. I don't need to. I'm okay." Wyatt frowned.

"How am I supposed to know?" His mother asked him.

"I just want to deal with it and move on. I can't stay stuck on the past." Wyatt said, "Besides, I'm not sure if you noticed, but I'm attractive. I could get someone else."

I chuckled, causing them both to look at me. I quickly stopped and looked at my phone again. My brother had texted me back. I wasn't into the text, though. I was just trying to keep myself busy. I hadn't noticed the woman leave and the guy sit at my table. I looked up with a certain disbelief. I couldn't be that disbelieving because I had just eavesdropped on his conversation. He smiled to me.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

"I was about to say the same thing." Wyatt said.

I blushed, "I'm sorry. I mean that as both I'm sorry for eavesdropping and sorry for your marriage." I said quickly.

"Don't be sorry for either one." Wyatt smiled.

"Call me crazy but I'm a big believer in living in sin." I smiled.

"What brings you to San Francisco?" Wyatt asked.

"Business." I smiled.

"You own a business?" Wyatt asked.

I shook my head, "I'm an intern at the Bay Mirror. I'm going to be working with Phoebe Halliwell. She rocks." I smiled.

"That's my aunt." Wyatt smiled.

"Oh really? Is she a slave driver?" I asked, "Bad question to ask, right?"

"No. She's not a slave driver and no, it's not a bad question." Wyatt smiled, "You want to write for the paper?"

"I want to be a writer." I smiled, "I had this stupid little advice column in the college paper."

"I'm sure it wasn't stupid." Wyatt said, "Let me guess, you're from Texas?"

"Close. Oklahoma." I smirked, "How could you tell?"

"Accent." Wyatt said.

"Wyatt!" His mother called.

"That's my mom, Piper Halliwell." Wyatt said, "And I think it's time for me to get back to work."

"Sure."

"Look me up sometime. Wyatt Halliwell." Wyatt smiled, standing, "It was nice to meet you." He said, shaking my hand.

"Pahras Summers." I nodded.

He smiled and disappeared into the kitchen. My food came out shortly and I was very pleased. I had been so busy working that I'd neglected other parts of my life. He was married once, but I got a spark from him. Maybe San Francisco is going to be my town after all. After I ate, I slipped out into the streets. I was lost and walking around, trying to find my way back to my hotel when I heard a clatter. I walked to the alley, wondering if no one else heard this. I ran into the alley to see a younger girl on the ground with a man standing over her. The girl was about my skin color and looked so familiar for some reason. I ran into the alley as quickly as I could to try and divert his attention. The man looked at me immediately and growled. I felt a little fear at his growl.

"Get out of here, witch!" The demon shouted.

"Witch?" I asked.

The demon raised his hand and a ball of fire appeared in his hands. I'm sure my eyes must have bugged out of my head at the sight of this because he smiled and hurled it at me. I dove out of the way as quickly as I could. The fire ball hit flew out of the alley and into the street, causing a car crash! The demon pulled another fire ball from the air and tossed it at the girl, hitting her in the head! I shouted to the demon to stop, but the demon advanced towards me. I threw my hand up, causing him to fly backward and slam into the wall above a dumpster!

I ran to the girl and cradled her in my arms, "Oh God. Oh God. Somebody please help us!" I shouted into the air.

Suddenly, there was a burst of blue orbs and a man appeared to me. It was Wyatt. He walked over and took the girl into his arms. Someone shouted that the fire ball had come from the alley. Wyatt looked at me and stretched his hand out to me.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Do you trust me?" Wyatt asked.

I looked around to the footsteps coming into the alley. I looked to the dumpster but the demon was gone. I reached out and grabbed his hand and we all disappeared in a stream of orbs.

-

I sat in the sitting room of the Manor, drinking a cup of tea. The Halliwells had taken me into their home and explained magic to me. They told me how they had been saving the world for years and that I'd been attacked by a demon. The girl had been taken to the attic to be healed. I wasn't sure about any of this but I trusted them. I don't know why, but I did. They had saved me. This day had gone from great to very bad in just a short amount of time. I frowned as I set the cup down on the coffee table. They thought I could be a witch. If it weren't for the fact that I sent the demon flying, I wouldn't have believed it. I looked at the cup. I slowly swung my hand, causing the cup to slid across the table. I grabbed it as it was falling.

"Exploring?" Wyatt asked.

I turned to see him, "It's so surreal." I frowned.

"Are you one of those types that never believed?" Wyatt asked.

"Not sure."

"Not sure?" Wyatt asked.

"I mean, I believed secretly, I guess." I smiled, "How's the girl."

"She's fine." Wyatt said, "She's got one Hell of a back story."

"Whaddya mean?" I asked.

"She says she's my daughter." Wyatt said.

"Ummm, that can't be possible. She's in her mid-twenties, right?" I asked.

"That's not even the weirdest part." Wyatt said slowly, "She says she's your daughter too."

I stared at him in disbelief. That wasn't possible. I wasn't old enough to have a daughter that age and I damn sure couldn't have a daughter with Wyatt...I'd never met him. We weren't even able to physically have a baby.

"I'm going to tell you all the reasons that's not true..." I said in a panic.

"She claims she's from the future. An alternate future where we're together." Wyatt explained.

"You and her? Gross."

"No! You and me." Wyatt said quickly.

I chuckled.

"That's funny?" Wyatt asked.

"Alternate universes? Daughters from the future? My head hurts." I said, trying to wrap my head around the idea.

"She said she came back in time to stop something terrible from happening." Wyatt said, "She undid something she shouldn't have."

"I'm...I...I'm not a father. I'm..."

"A great father."

Wyatt and I looked to the hallway to see the girl standing there.

"Peyton, are you sure you're okay?" Wyatt asked.

I stared at her, "She looks like..."

"Grandma." Peyton said, "You always told me that I looked like grandma Caly."

"Grandma Caly? Sorry, it's a little weird." I said sadly, "Say I believe all this...what is going on?"

"The new Source sent a demon back in time to eliminate the next generation of Charmed Ones." Peyton said, "Matthew and I came back in time to stop the demon."

"The demon in the alley?" I asked.

"Yes."

"And the source is of all evil?" I asked.

"Yes." Wyatt nodded.

"And exactly where is this Matthew? Is he your boyfriend?" I asked.

"He's my cousin." Peyton said, "And I'm not sure."

"You're not sure?" I asked, "You're good at this aren't you?"

"Hey, you try to keep all this together!" Peyton snapped.

I rolled my eyes, "You get that whole dramatic thing from me." I frowned, "How do I help?"

"We have to vanquish the demon before he undoes everything." Peyton said, "And then we have to switch back the worlds. This isn't how it's supposed to be."

"Change the world? All at once?" I asked.

"I need you to send me to the past." Peyton said, "I have a lot of power, but since the world changed, I can't do all the things I used to be able to do."

"The Halliwells are the strongest witches around." I said.

"You can't die." Peyton said, "Not before I'm born."

"Cause if you die, she's never going to be born." Wyatt said.

"I was looking for you when I was attacked." Peyton smiled.

"How is your head?" I asked.

"All better." Peyton chuckled.

"The fact that you're standing here is a statement that we're destined or something." Wyatt said.

"Or something." I said slowly.

"Hey, I'm not so bad." Wyatt said.

"It's not that." I said quickly, "I just...it's a lot less romantic."

"This is like the beginning of a fight." Peyton said.

"Do we do that often?" I asked.

"No." Peyton frowned, "Actually, you're all over each other."

Wyatt smiled and I elbowed him. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This girl from the `future' was telling me that this guy I didn't even know married me in an alternate world. I couldn't help but look at Wyatt, who was tall, blonde and pretty damn cute. I was attracted to that. I was attracted to him from the beginning so it wasn't a stretch. I wasn't sure I believed in any of this until it actually happened.

"So where do we start?" I asked.

"Grams Piper is making the potion." Peyton said, "Aunt Phoebe and Aunt Paige are writing a spell."

"What about the other guy and the two girls?" I asked.

"My sister, Melinda, my brother, Chris, and his wife Bianca." Wyatt explained.

"In the real world, you're his best friend since like childhood." Peyton said, "And you're a pretty kick-ass witch."

"Language!" I said but then added, "Whoa...I think I just put on my dad badge."

"Sorry." Peyton said, "And you took over from Aunt Phoebe and became a writer too."

"I did?" I asked, "I must be pretty awesome."

"You are. You're powerful. So powerful you were thought to help reconstitute the power of three." Peyton said.

"Is that, like, a band?" I asked.

"More like a trio." Wyatt smirked.

"Am I supposed to know what that means?" I asked.

"No." Wyatt smiled, "Are you going to be okay. We need to go and help."

"I'll be fine." I smiled.

Wyatt and Peyton headed up the stairs, away from me. They each looked back, for different reasons, I suppose. I smiled at them both and sat back on the couch. This place felt safe to me. I found myself looking around the room at the odds and ends. It felt so lived in that I actually started to wonder what it would be like to live here. I turned around quickly as the door open and closed. I walked over to the entrance to find Chris hanging up his coat. He turned and jumped at the sight of me.

"Sorry, I just..."

"It's okay." Chris said, "In this house, sneaking up on people gets you attacked."

"Noted." I smiled.

"Is everyone upstairs?" Chris asked.

"Why'd you use the door?" I asked, "Why didn't you just do that orby-thing."

"You're new to this. I didn't want to freak you out." Chris said.

"I love this house."

"Okay." Chris said nervously.

"Just trying to make conversation. Peyton says we're friends in the other reality." I smiled.

Chris chuckled, "I think the word that describes us was best." He smiled.

"I'm just, you know, figuring this all out." I said, "It's a little hard to comprehend."

"Just a little?" Chris asked.

I smirked, "Yeah, I mean there's Wyatt. Super cute with the best disposition. Almost unbearably chipper. And then there's this girl. Same sort of disposition, but with a smart-ass attitude that reminds me of myself. And then there's you. My best friend that's actually not my best friend because we've never met and this is all screwed because this said girl changed things." I said, "Am I missing anything?"

"There is the fact that her cousin, my son, died." Chris said sadly.

"I'm sorry." I said.

Chris nodded.

"But we can save him." I said.

"I really don't like a lot of people, but I do like you." Chris chuckled.

I smiled to him. Suddenly, his eyes darted behind me and he shoved me to the side! As I hit the floor, I looked up to see a ball of fire hit him and knock him backwards into the alcove of couches and then to the floor. Before I could shout for Wyatt or anyone else, the demon grabbed me by the neck and started choking me! I was losing consciousness very quickly and I knew I had to do something quickly. I grabbed at a lamp, but couldn't quite reach it. I could feel my body getting weaker as I reached and suddenly, the lamp flew off the end table and onto my hand! I clubbed him over the head with him and dropped to the floor, massaging my neck. The demon flew across the room. Chris came walking out of the alcove and helped me to my feet. I could see the hole on his shirt and the burns and scorch mark on his chest. He was breathing heavily and I called for Wyatt, who appeared in a burst of orbs beside us. Before he could do anything, the demon was gone again.

"I hate when he does that!" I growled.

-

We'd all huddled into the attic after Wyatt healed Chris. I was surprised. This attack caught me off guard, but which hadn't? Peyton had come up with a good idea to help us vanquish the demon while they set everything right. The spell would bring the state of mind of our alternate reality selves. Believe me, my brain hurt too. The spell would sort of be Wyatt and Peyton using their projection power to bring about our state of mind. This was risky because they were the big guns and they would be vulnerable during this spell. I felt totally out of my element. The Halliwells seemed to be bracing themselves for the worst.

"So, this is it? The final plan?" I asked nervously.

"Don't worry. Nothing's going to happen." Wyatt said, squeezing my shoulder.

I nodded.

"We have to concentrate, dad." Peyton said.

The Halliwells had made a circle in the middle of the attic with Peyton and Wyatt in the middle of it. They sat opposite of each other and held hands. They both had their eyes closed and were concentrating. There appeared to be a ball of energy hovering between them as the demon shimmered in, this time with friends. A fight immediately broke out and I dodged fire balls as they came. I found myself standing in the middle of the fight. The demon was across the room, same length away from them as I was. The demon had a fire ball and advanced towards Wyatt and Peyton! I advanced too, trying to find my way to them before the demon! I pushed my way through the fight, trying to get to them as he did the same. I noticed that he was a little ahead of me and I couldn't let him get to them before me so I angrily waved my hand at him as he threw a fire ball at them. The fire ball stopped and flew back, charring his hand! I waved my hand again, causing him to fly back and drop to the ground in the midst of the battle. Someone grabbed me from the back. At first, I was helpless, but then the fighting stopped as the ball of light began to expand. As it expanded, it washed over me like water. A new set of emotions, of memories."By the Goddess." I said, elbowing the demon. I pushed my head backwards into the demon's head, causing him to drop me. The fighting continued from where it was, only it was one-sided. The Halliwells were kicking ass and so was I! The demon was heading for Wyatt and Peyton but stopped and burst into flames in front of Wyatt, who looked pissed. The rest of the demons took notice of this and disappeared.

-

"What's it like? Having two sets of memories?" Peyton asked.

"Crowded." Wyatt said.

She was sitting opposite of us in the Sitting Room. There had been an awkward silence between us for the longest.

"I can only think about the newest memories...which would be the old ones, I guess." I shrugged, "I can't believe you went back in time and changed the world."

"Let me guess, you're not mad, you're just disappointed?" Peyton said sadly.

"No, I'm pissed! You changed our whole lives." I said.

Peyton nodded.

"But I'm pretty sure you're my favorite." I smiled.

Peyton smiled.

"What you did was admirable." Wyatt said, "This family is accustomed to breaking rules."

"I had to save us." Peyton said, "We weren't perfect but we're great."

"Us? So, it was just us?" I asked, "Just you, me and Wyatt?"

"I...can't say." Peyton smiled.

"Timeline's already screwed." I smiled.

"All I can say is don't ever stop trying." Peyton said with a wink.

"We need to sort this all out." I smiled, "Get you back to your time."

"With the demon out of the way, I can safely return home and not worry about him changing anything." Peyton said.

"But we're not sending you back home." I said quickly, "You have to go to the past."

"To undo whatever you did." Wyatt said.

"Right," Peyton nodded, "I have to make sure that my grandmas meet. Simple enough."

"Is it?" I asked.

"You've got to stop yourself from stopping the demon." Wyatt said, "Mom's got to stop him."

"This is all too complicated." I frowned, "We just need to do the spell."

"Good thing we were already working on a spell." Wyatt smiled.

"Go and help your uncle and aunt." I said to Peyton, "They need your help."

Peyton nodded and left the room, heading up the stairs. I looked to Wyatt, who seemed to be beaming at me. I smiled to him too.

"We are cool. We raised her." Wyatt smiled.

"Did you hear what she said? We're going to have another baby!" I smiled.

Wyatt frowned, "That's not what she said." He said, "Baby, I want another child, I do, but she said don't stop trying. She didn't say either way."

I lost my smile, "You're right. You're a definite party pooper but you're right." I frowned.

"I hate that I'm the one who put a frown on your face." Wyatt said.

"I just realized something...the dead people are alive here." I said, "Patience, Warren and my dad. Why don't we just live out these people's lives? It would be like leading our lives, just in another reality."

"You know we can't do that." Wyatt said, "We have to go back to our screwed up world."

"Once again, you're right." I frowned.

-

Peyton Halliwell appeared in the nursery. She was on a mission from the very second she appeared. Her fathers and family had sent her back in time to change the future back to the way it was seeing as how there was no demon anymore. The demons that had sent him back in time wouldn't do it again and they would see that their plan wouldn't work. Peyton sped off down the hall, passing rooms full of children. She found herself at the janitor's closet, literally. When the Peyton exiting the closet saw her, she jumped.

"What in the..."

"Listen, no time to fully explain, but you can't save Grandma Caly." Peyton said, "Undoing this one thing undoes the future."

"The demon..."

"Has to be handled by Grandma Piper." Peyton said.

There was the sound of footsteps running down the hall. Both Peytons looked over their shoulders, trying to see what was happening. They both ran to the corner and pressed themselves against the wall, looking around the corner. They saw Caly fall to the ground and Piper come to her rescue.

"She did it." Peyton smiled.

-

I sat in the condo, sipping iced tea. Wyatt took Peyton to see her Grams. I was all alone in the apartment and for the first time I didn't feel so alone and desolate. I didn't feel hopeless anymore. For some odd reason, I felt optimistic. I smiled to myself as I typed on my laptop, giving advice to people I never met. I only looked up when Wyatt orbed in with Peyton strapped to his chest. I chuckled at the sight, to which he smiled at me.

"You strapped our eight month old to your chest?" I asked.

"Well, we enjoyed our visit to Mom and Dad's." Wyatt said, "Catching up on work?"

"I am." I smiled.

"So, you're not seeing Warren anymore?" Wyatt asked.

"No, not lately." I said.

"What do you feel? About Peyton, about all of this?" Wyatt asked.

"Optimistic." I smiled.

"It's good to hear." Wyatt smiled, "And it only took our daughter and nephew re-writing history."

"Imagine that." I smiled.

"I'm going to put Peyton down for her nap." Wyatt said, disappearing through the door to the nursery.

I smiled and looked back to the computer screen. I saw something walk past me. I assumed it was Wyatt and only looked up when he was standing in front of me. I looked up to see a very pale Warren standing in front of me. I jumped a little.

"You shouldn't lie." Warren said angrily.
