Justice league Chapter 2- Who's your daddy The Batcave- POV-Batman "This can't be right, it just can't be." I said to myself. I had been looking over Tristan's test results, only to find the impossible. "Master Bruce, if I might Sir?Those are 100% accurate. You can hardly deny what is evident before you, Sir." Alfred said, resting a hand on my shoulder. "But?I don't understand?how is this possible?" "Sir, when a man and a woman lay together?well?" Alfred tried to make light of the situation. "Thanks Alfred, but I understand the mechanics of an act between men and woman. I just mean?Grace? But?Oh My God! I remember?how could I forget?Alfred?19 years ago the Outsiders were on a mission in Brazil, do you remember?" I asked. "Yes, I think I do recall. You were all captured, injected with someone kind of drug." He began. "That's right. Grace and I were chained in a room together, when they gave us the drug. We began being animalistic?beyond control or reason. I don't need to tell you what happened next between Grace and I, I'm sure you get the picture." I said. "Why wouldn't Miss Grace tell you?how could you not have known?" he asked. "If you remember correctly, shortly after that mission I was sent back in time. (See Death of Batman story line) When I returned, it was well over 2 years later. Grace never told me?my God, Tristan. He has no clue. He hates me already, this will only make him hate me more." I panicked. "Master Bruce, he's young and in pain. In time, I'm sure the boy would come to love the man before me." Alfred smiled. "I can't tell him?he hates me?" I admitted. "You must tell him the truth, Master Bruce. A healthy relationship cannot start out with a lie. He needs to know who you are to him, it's the only way." Alfred adamantly said. I put my head in my hands, sighing heavily. I'm his father, and he hates me. Tristan hates me? Watchtower- POV- Tristan In the past couple of weeks, Kal, Diana, and I had become really close. My heart began feeling emotions, it had never felt before. A routine formed between us, waking up, breakfast, training, school, more training, dinner and then relaxing. The feeling of closeness with Kal, never ceased to amaze me. I had never had a male figure in my life, other than the Batman, who mostly stayed hidden. No real man to talk to, or joke around, or learn guy things from. Batman sure was trying to be a part of my life, for that matter he hadn't even come around once since he brought me here. That was fine by me; there really wasn't any need to talk to him. What would I even say to him? Training had become a lot more difficult since Kal and Diana truly taught me to use my abilities. Though I'm sure they were holding back from using their full strength, it didn't stop them from actually hitting me. Learning defensive maneuvers was their first priority with me, and I was grateful. I felt confident in protecting myself now, if the need should arrive. Though, I was certain nothing was going to happen to me up here on the Watchtower. I hadn't seen Hawkman again in the locker room, though he could easily have been on a mission. Though running out of the locker room in only a towel, must have scared everyone off from talking to me. No one had approached me again, though I didn't mind. It allowed to the ability to look at the naked bodies, without worrying about getting caught. What? Just because I'm damaged goods, doesn't mean I can't enjoy the scenery. Let's just say, these superheroes were all built like brick houses. Yummy? Though, my favorite would have to be Kal's body, since I was lucky enough to catch him in the shower the other night. I had been tossing and turning in my bed, completely unable to sleep. My mind filled with visions of a madman with a creepy clown face filling my head. I couldn't shake it off, that feeling like I was suffocating. Being the middle of the night, I decided I should take a shower and wash away the ugly thoughts. I walked towards the lockers, taking off my clothes and wrapping a towel around my waist. I entered the shower, hanging my towel up and a hook. I turned the hot water on full blast, letting it wash away the troubles on my mind. The hot water cascading over my body was working wonders on my sore muscles. One muscle in particular was rising up to the occasion? There wasn't anyone else in the locker room, and with the steam from the hot water I was pretty sure I hidden from view if someone had come in. Leaning against the wall, I began to run my hands up and down my shaft. Lightly playing with my low hanging balls, a slight moan escaped my lips. From the flaccid cocks I had seen in this very room, I came to realize that I would be considered above average. Flaccid, my cock is about seven and a half inches. Hard, my cock grew to eight and three quarter's inches. I squeezed the tip of the head, allowing the pre-cum to dribble out. Taking my finger and wiping it across the head, I brought it to my lips to have a taste. Normally I wasn't so brazen, though tonight I was truly enjoying letting go. I began a medium paced pounding of my cock, while pulling on my low hanging nut sack. Sometimes letting my hand roam around my body?pinching my nipples? or running down my six pack abs. So caught up in the moment that I didn't realize someone had come into the locker room. I was stroking my cock more urgently, thoughts drifting off to thoughts of Superman. Recalling when he was holding me in his arms, as I cried. The feel of his body pressed against mine, the smell of sandalwood on his neck as I rested my head there. The large package he sported safely in his tight red underwear, leaving so much to the imagination. This time when a moan escaped my lips, I happened to moan his name. Kal, oh Kal?I moaned as I began to shoot. I heard a gasp that brought me out of my revive, causing me to look up into sparkling sapphire eyes. I froze, unable to even take a breath. My mind working desperately to think of something, anything?I needed to move, turn away, and when I noticed his eye moving up and down the length of my body I quickly turned and faced the shower. "Tristan?don't worry we all do it?Heck, even I do it when the mood strikes." He said casually, as he stepped to the shower next to mine. I couldn't believe my luck, first getting caught by Superman (though I'm sure if he wanted to, he could catch anyone using his x-ray vision) secondly, hi, he's completely naked, taking a shower next to me and I couldn't look. "Right, I'm sure it's everyone's fantasy to get caught masturbating by the man of steel." I said, knowing I was turning ten shades of red. "You embarrass so easily, it reminds me of myself when I was younger." He teases, lightly touching my back. It had become truly easy to be around Kal, allowing him touch me without freaking out. "Right, I can just see Superman being all embarrassed in front of anyone. That's something I would have to see to believe." I said. "I saw you come in here, and figured I would join you. Make sure you were doing alright, seen as how it is after midnight." He said, looking at me curiously. Did he really just say he decided to join me in the shower, if I hadn't just shot a load I was pretty sure I was would have gotten a boner. "You could have waited till after I got out?to see if I was okay." He could see the teasing in my eyes. "Well I needed to take a shower anyway, so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone." He smiled his special smile that he only gave to me. "You're not going to tell anyone what you saw me doing, right Kal?" I asked nervously. He laughed a chest rumbling laugh, which was as infectious as it was adorable. "No, this will be between you and me only, Tristan. I'll keep your secret, for a price." he teased. "A price huh, what would that be?" I asked, curiously. "I'll think of something, as of right now I'll just leave you hanging." He said, looking down at my limp cock ever so quickly. I blushed scarlet again, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks. "So I have to ask Tristan, do you shave or are you naturally smooth like that?" he said, lightly running his hand down my chest. "Naturally smooth?wait a minute. How do you do that Kal? How do you make it so easy?make me forget everything that's happen?make me feel so normal." I rambled. "I don't know what you mean, Tristan. You're are normal as I am, and I'm an alien." He said laughingly. "Seriously Kal, when you touch me?I?well, it doesn't freak me out. Your touch doesn't affect me at all." Realizing what I said, I smacked my head. "DOH! That's not what I meant?I mean?" I began. "I understand what you mean, Tristan. Look buddy, without realizing it, you've let your guard down around me. You trust me. This is what happens when you make friends." He smiled, resting his hand on my shoulder. "Really?we're friends?" I asked shyly. "I'd hope so, I don't really take a shower with just anyone you know." He laughed again. I realized in that moment that this was something rare for him to. The way people were always a bit standoffish with him, afraid that he was going to heat them with his heat vision, or tare them apart with his superhuman strength. How could he ever really be himself, if no one gave him the chance to be playful? "Friends, I like it." I beamed. He was scrubbing his body up and down, paying special attention to his cock and balls. I couldn't help but stare, my mouth hanging open. When he looked up and caught me staring, he just smiled as if it were the most normal thing in the world. I felt my cock start to stir again, and could feel it lengthening. I quickly turned the water off, and made my way back to my locker. I toweled dry myself off as quickly as possible, before pulling my underwear back on. Kal came walking up, a towel wrapped around his waist. The towel did nothing to hide the monster between his legs. "Tristan, buddy, it's alright. Guys check each other out in the showers all the time, it's no big deal." He tried making me comfortable. "Right Kal, I'm sure guys check out Superman all the time. Your my friend, and I'm molesting you with my eyes." Yes I did say that out loud?big mouth?ugh? Kal just laughed, as if it was the funniest thing in the world. "Tristan, it's actually refreshing to have you treat me like a regular guy. I like it. Aside from Diana, and Batman, no one really puts their guard down with me. Nor am I able to be myself around people, who expect me to be Superman all the time, and never just Kal. So please, don't take that away from me." He made a puppy dog face, that I just couldn't refuse. "If you're alright with it, then I guess I'm just going to have to get over it. You're the first guy friend I've ever had, I just don't want to screw it up." I said shyly. "You're doing a great job, and you could never screw it up. Now, why don't I get dressed quickly so I can walk you to your room." He said, turning and walking away to his locker. I finished getting dressed, thinking about what he just said. He was wrong about one thing, I could screw it up. What would he do if he knew what I was going to do in eleven months? I pushed the thoughts out of my head, and thought of the amazing thing that just happened tonight. I took a shower with Superman! That was a few days ago. I tried to come down to the shower again at night, but I never managed to catch him in the shower. Though, Green Lantern, Booster Gold, and Green Arrow made for great eye candy the past few nights. I was walking back to my room, and as I nearly made it to the door a man approached me holding a box in his hands. "Mail delivery." He said. "For me?" I asked, confused. Who would be sending me anything? "Yes, this is for you Tristan." He smiled, handing me the box. "Er?thanks." I said taking the box. I walked into my room, looking to see if there was anything on the box that would let me know who sent it. The only thing I could find was that it said TRISTAN on the box in large green letters. I tore off the cover, and opened the box. I found a card and a DVD. I opened the card and began to read it. BOO! Ahahahahahah, Just wanted you to know boy, I can get to you no matter where you are. Ahahahahahaha, Here's a little something to remind you of everything we share. Ahahahahahaaha, Although, I'm pretty sure that you just can't get me out of your mind. After everything we've been through together, I'm unforgettable. Ahahahahahaha, Don't forget to watch the present I left you, you'll understand more than you ever thought possible? Ahahahahaha, TODALOU for now my boy, I'll be seeing you when you least expect it? Ahahahahahaha My chest was growing tighter, and I realized I hadn't been breathing since I started reading the letter. I fell to all fours, and began throwing up the contents of my stomach. Forcing myself to my feet, I headed towards my TV and DVD player. I quickly put the DVD in, and hit play. My heart caught in my throat, as I saw my mother on her knees with the Joker standing above her. "Please?I have a son?" my mother whimpered. "You should have thought of that before you became a superhero." Joker said. "If I'm to die by your hands, may I make a single request?" she asked with pleading eyes. "You can make the request, I can't promise I'll deliver." He laughed. "Tell the Batman?tell him he belongs to him?please?Batman will know." She begged. He belongs to Batman? Surely she couldn't have meant me? Right? The Joker laughed his deranged, psychotic laughter. "Say it isn't so? The Batman? Why, this is the greatest news I've heard, since finding out Harley is going to be released soon. I can finally crush Batman. I can bring him down to his knees, and all with the information you just gave to me. Ahahahahaha?I'm going to break him?I'm going to destroy both The Batman, and his son?Ahahahahahaha!" he laughed. Tears in her eyes, she growled as she prepared to lunge at him. He shot her in the forehead, blowing her brains out. "MOM!!!! Noooooo!" I shouted. I'd seen it so many times in my nightmares, but to actually see him pull the trigger on the DVD?I turned and vomited again. "Nooooooo?.nooooo?noooo!" I screamed again and again. Within moments my door slid open, and Kal, Diana and the Batman came running through the door. "Tristan?" Kal started, looking at the TV screen he stopped dead in his tracks. When I looked up I saw all three of them had stopped, and were staring at the screen. I turned to look at what they were seeing, when my knees began to buckle under me. There on the screen was Joker raping me. There I was my ass exposed as he rammed his cock in and out, while I whimpered from the pain. I began to dry heave, as there was nothing left in my stomach to throw up. Diana quickly ejected the DVD, and picked the letter and box up off the floor handing them to Batman. I turned and looked at him standing there?the rage in me rising to the surface? Before I knew what I was doing; I was flying at Batman sending us crashing through the wall. We landed on the floor outside my room, with me still on top of him. I began pounding his chest with my fists, screaming at him. "My father? You're my father? Did you know? Did he tell you? Is that why you've been stalking me since my mother was murdered? Answer me damn you, answer me!" I shouted, continuing to pound his chest as he laid there not moving. He didn't even try to defend himself, didn't lift up a single finger to stop me. He just lay there and took the hits, as if it didn't bother him at all. Kal was on me in a flash, wrapping his arms around me while pulling me off Batman. "Tristan?Calm down, please." Kal begged. "Answer my questions, damn you, answer them!" I demanded. "No Tristan, he never told me. I just found out tonight, not too long ago." He answered calmly. "Where have you been? I've been here for a long time now, why haven't you come see me?" I asked angrily. "I've been here, been around watching you. I didn't think you wanted to see me, so I've kept my distance. Always being ready should you ask to see me." He answered honestly. "This is your entire fault?all of it?He's done everything he's done to me, because of you. He's taking his revenge on you, out on me. Did you know that? Do you care? Doesn't matter, I hate you. Stay away from me, I mean that, you stay away from me or I'll kill you with my bare hands." I spat angrily. "I understand?I'm sorry Tristan?if I had known?I?" he stuttered. "If you had known, you'd what? You'd still have stood there while he raped me, watching as the Joker took out his revenge on you. Knowing the truth about me, would still not have changed anything you would have done. There must have been a good reason why my mother didn't tell you, or me. There must have been a reason she didn't want you having anything to do with me. I'm glad she never told me, she actually did me a favor. If I would have known you were my father, and you still let him rape me?let's just say if the anger and hate I have towards you now is bad, I can't even imagine what it would be like had you let him rape me knowing I was your son." I turned away wiping the angry tears from my eyes. When I turned around to give him another piece of my mind, he was gone. "That's right, run Batman! Don't ever come by me again, I swear I'll make you regret the day you laid eyes on me." I shouted into the air. I hadn't realized that the hall was filled with onlookers, nor did I care. Kal and Diana came over to me, trying to calm me down. "Tristan, let's go back into your room." Diana said. "Doesn't everyone have something they should be doing?" Superman shouted to the crowd that had gathered. They quickly cleared the area, as no one argued with Superman. "How did he find me? How did he know where I was? How was he able to get that box to me?" I said out loud, more to myself that to anyone else. "We don't know, but we will get to the bottom of this." Diana said. "He can't get to you, Tristan. Your safe up here, there is no way for him to get on the Watchtower." Kal reassured me. "He was still able to get me the box that means he has his ways. I'll never get rid of him, he will haunt me for as long as I live." I cried. "Kal, why don't we take him to your room for tonight?" Diana said. "See, you're worried. He can get to me, that's why you want me to stay with Kal." I accused. "No Tristan, I don't believe he can get to you. I just thought you would want to stay in Kal's room, because there is a large hole where your door should be." She said pointing at the hole. Then I remembered I had knocked Batman through the door, in a blind rage no less. "I'm sorry?I forgot about the hole. I'd like to go now please, I'd really rather not be out here in the hall right now." I said. They nodded and headed towards Kal's room. They asked me what the man looked like that had brought the box, and I quickly described him. I went straight to the bed and climbed in, pulling the covers over me. Putting my head in the pillow, a strong smell of sandalwood wafted through my nose. I inhaled deeply, taking comfort in the smell of Superman. I don't know how long it took, but I must have cried myself to sleep. POV-Batman I sat there watching the DVD and reading the letter. I wanted to scream out in frustration. I wanted to wrap my hands around the Joker's neck, for everything he's done and still doing. "Bruce, are you alright?" Diana asked, walking into the room with Superman. "How can I be alright? He hates me?he's my son and he hates me?" I said. "He's angry and confused. He's scared Bruce, and he's taking it out on the only target he can." Diana said. "That doesn't make me feel any better Di, not at all." I said. "We've got bigger problems right now, guys. We need to check the cameras and see who the Joker got to give Tristan that box." Kal said. "You're right." I said. I pulled up the video of the hall outside Tristan's room. When I found the guy who brought the box to him, I froze it and blew up the picture. "He's new here, I don't recognize him." Diana said. Running a scan using his picture, his file was brought up on the screen. Alvin Sanders, AKA AL slippery Sanders. Small time crook, who I'm sure the Joker paid handsomely to deliver the box." I said. I scanned the video's looking to see all the places Slippery had been to. He hadn't gone anywhere but to Tristan's room. "I'm going to kill the Joker, I'm going to strangle him to death. This time he's gone too far, and nothing will stop me from killing him." I said, slamming my fists on the table. Diana walked up to me, taking my face in her hands she forced me to look at her. "Bruce, you can't cross that line?ever?you will lose Tristan for sure, if you kill the Joker. I know that's not what you want." She said. Diana was right, but that didn't make this any easier. "I'm sorry, I'm just lost. I don't know what to do, about Tristan or the Joker." I admitted. "Bruce, I love you. I will support you through this all. We will just take it one step at a time." Diana said. "We need to find Slippery, and see just how he got in here." I said. "I'm going to talk to Jon, and have him telepathically check to make sure no one else is a spy on the Watchtower. He won't like it, but what choice do we have." Diana said, making her way out of the room. "I should get back to Tristan; make sure that he's okay." Kal said. "Kal, wait a second. I want to tell you how much I appreciate what you're doing for Tristan?" I started. "You don't ever have to thank me, Bruce. I'm rather fond of him anyway." Kal smiled. "I'm glad. I don't know what was happening in the locker room between the two of you, nor am I saying anything did. You're my best friend, but he's my son. Don't cross the line, Kal." I said adamantly. "Bruce? What the hell are you talking about?" he asked outraged. "I see how close you're getting, and I don't mind him having you as a friend. No one could have a better friend than Superman. I'm just saying; don't let it go further than that." I didn't want to be saying this to him, but I had no choice. "I can't believe you're saying this to me. You asked for my help, and now you don't like that he's getting close to me? So you're what, going to turn it into me taking advantage of him. As if you didn't know me better than that, as if I would ever do something like that. You're lucky you're going through a lot right now, or I would really give you a piece of my mind." He said as he stormed out of the room. What am I doing? I just accused my best friend of taking advantage of my son. I'm losing my mind. "I'm sorry Clark." I said, knowing he could still hear me. I have got to talk to Chloe. If she finds out about Tristan before I tell her, there is going to be hell to pay. POV- Tristan I heard the door to the room slide open, and quickly jumped up in the bed. Panicked at first, I was relieved to see Kal standing there. He looked like bottled up fury, which only made me nervous. Was something going on, was the Joker here? "It's him isn't it, he's here?" my voice filled with panic. "What? Oh, no, Tristan I'm sorry. No one is here, your safe I promise." He forced a smile. "Than what's wrong with you, why are you so upset?" I asked getting out of bed and walking right up to him. "What makes you think I'm upset?" he asked. "I've been hanging around you enough to notice when there is something bothering you, but I'll understand if you don't want to talk about it." My voice filled with disappointment. "So, you really can tell that there is something bothering me?" he asked quizzically. "I can tell when you're hungry, angry, stressed, joking and even when you just have something on your mind." I said matter a fact. "Maybe he's right?" it came out almost a whisper, but I still heard it. "Maybe who's right? What's going on Kal? I'm only going to think the worst if you don't tell me." I pouted. I could tell he was struggling with something, but he wasn't giving in telling me. "Tristan, you don't think it's strange?hanging out with me do you?" there was fear in his eyes, as if my answer was truly important to him. "Strange? Why would I think it's strange? Is this about you being an Alien? Cause I thought we established that I don't care where you're from, is your actions that make me like you." He smiled at me, while releasing a huge breath. "It's nothing, forget I said anything. Or didn't say anything." He laughed. "Now wait a second, I thought we were friends? Isn't a part of being friends, telling each other when something is bothering us?" I frowned. "Yes?your right. Look, someone just brought to my attention?well?that maybe I was getting a little too close to you. That maybe it wasn't appropriate for you and I to get close." He said hesitantly. "That's ridiculous. Why, because I'm 17 years old? I've been basically on my own since I was born?I had to raise myself?take care of myself?my mother was off on one mission after another. If I didn't grow up fast, I would have been in a lot of trouble?" I ranted angrily. "It's okay Tristan, I know you're mature enough to make your own choices on whom you should or shouldn't talk to." "You aren't going to listen to this person, right? We're still friends, right?" I was almost near tears. "No Tristan, I'm not going to listen to anyone but myself. You trust me, and I trust you, that's all that matters. But, I do hope if you ever felt like I was doing something you didn't like, that you would tell me?" he reassured me. "Of course I would tell you, I trust you with my life." I beamed, now that I know our friendship is safe. "So, did you learn anything?I mean about how the Joker got that guy in here?" I asked. "Batman and Diana are working on that right now, it's nothing for you to worry about." He said dismissively. "Why does that not make me feel any better? Everyone needs to stop telling me not to worry! He's after me, and he won't stop till he gets me?or I?kill him?" I whispered the last part, but HELLO, superhearing. "Tristan, I don't ever want to hear you talking like that. Promise me you won't ever take a life, promise me?" he demanded, grabbing my shoulders and shaking me. "Stop it?Kal?you're hurting me!" he froze, realizing what he was doing. "Tristan, please promise me you won't ever kill someone?" he pushed on. "I can't make that promise, I'm sorry Kal." I said, turning away from him and rubbing my shoulders from where his hands had grabbed me. "If you kill him Tristan, you will spend the rest of your life behind bars! Is that what you want? Do you really want to throw away your future, for a monster that has taken so much from you already?" he asked angrily. "What choice do I have? Tell me Kal, what choice do I have? He can get to me any time he wants. He proved that today. Do you want me spending the rest of my life looking over my shoulders, afraid he's going to pop up at any time? Is that he way you want me to live, afraid of every sound, afraid of my own shadow? I'm not indestructible like you, he can hurt me?he already has." I shouted in his face, poking my finger at his chest. "Tristan, there is never a reason to kill. Never. I promise you that we will teach you to defend yourself. But that's all it's for, to defend you. If you think he's messed you up now, you're in for a rude awakening if you killed him. You don't ever come back from something like that. Killing someone takes away a part of your soul, a part that you can't ever get back." He said adamantly. There was no point in arguing this with him; he could never understand what it's like?to be?vulnerable?Either way, this was a battle for another day, nor was it something I had ever planned on telling anyone. "I'm just scared right now Kal, can't you understand that?" hoping that would distract him. He paused a long moment looking at me, before he spoke. "I'm sorry, you right. We will have this conversation another time though, don't think it's over with yet." He said seriously. "Understood. Friends still?" I said holding out my hand. "Of course we are, I wouldn't have it any other way." he shook my hand. I didn't want to ask, but some part of me really needed to know. "Is he okay? I mean?did?er?did I hurt him?" I didn't say his name, but we both knew who I was talking about. "He's fine, Tristan. He has pretty thick padding." He answered trying to lighten the mood. "That's good I guess." I shrugged. "Do you want to talk about him?" he asked. "Not particularly?I wouldn't even know where to start." I said, walking over to the bed and sitting down. Kal came and sat next to me. "He's really a good guy, once you get past the exterior." He started. "I don't doubt it?I mean being a crime fighter and all, you'd have to be one of the good guys." "True. You know his parents died in front of him when he was just a kid. He watched it happen right before his eyes. That's the main reason he became the Batman, to help those who couldn't help themselves." He explained. "He watched his parents get killed? That's terrible?I never knew?" I said shocked. We were more alike than I would have ever thought. Then next question came without of even thinking about it. "Did he?kill?the one responsible for killing his parents?" I needed to know. "No he didn't. But, he was able to catch him years later and bring him to justice." He answered truthfully. That makes him a better man than me, because I don't think I have it in me to bring him in for justice to be served. After everything he's done, Joker needs to die. "Did he really not know?that I'm his son?" "No, he was just as shocked as you probably are." He answered, putting his arm on my shoulder. I was glad that Kal wasn't asking any questions, or turning this into a full conversation. I don't know when it happened, or how it happened?that Kal learned to know me as well as I knew him. It shocked me most of the time, and floored me the rest of the time. "Are you going to stay in here?I mean?sleep in the bed?" I asked shyly. "I don't think that's a very good idea, Tristan." He didn't sound convincing at all. "Please Kal, I'm scared. What would be the big deal? Haven't you ever had a slumber party? I mean I know I haven't, but surely you had friends growing up?" I asked. "My earth parents, well, they didn't allow anyone to stay the night. They didn't allow me to stay out either. They couldn't take the chance of someone catching me using my powers, especially early on when I didn't have control over them like I do now. So the answer is no, no slumber parties. That's not to say people didn't stay the night at our house, they did. There were friends that knew the truth about me, but most didn't. The ones that didn't would use the guest bedroom if they had to stay the night. Actually, my best friend from childhood is in charge up here. Maybe one day, if your good, I'll introduce you." He said excitedly. "Sweet, so I can get the scoop on what Kal was like as a pubescent kid. So who is this best friend of yours?" I asked. "Her name is Chloe, but we call her Watchtower. She's kind of responsible for everyone and everything up here." It looked to me like he wanted to say more, but didn't so I decided not to press him. "Do you think she will like me?" I asked hesitantly. "No, I don't think she's going to like you, but I know she's going to love you." He teasingly said as he ran his finger down my nose. I moved up in the bed and lay down, while he continued sitting near the foot of the bed. "If you not going to sleep here, where will you go?" I asked curiously. "I'll go to my apartment in the city, and come back tomorrow and check and you." He said, rubbing my leg. "What happens if someone comes looking for me, and you not at hand to help me?" my face a mask of disappointment. "I'll sleep on the couch in one of the offices, and only be a call away." A broad grin on his face?probably for being able to think up an accuse so easily. "Fine?whatever?just go?I'll manage." I said, turning away from him. "Tristan, don't be like that?don't be mad at me." The sound of his voice was like music to my ears, pulling all the right strings of my heart. "This is about whatever someone said?the reason you were mad when you came into your room. You forgot I was sleeping here, and came in ranting. That's the only reason you said anything, if you had remembered you would never have let me see." It was that understanding washed over me, and I was saying it out loud more than it being accusation. "One day when you're older, you'll be able to understand why sometimes you have to make the hard choices." "Normally I would argue with you, but you actually make perfect sense. So I'm willing to meet you half way, sleep on the couch in one of the offices so that I know you'll be nearby if I need you?" I hoped I didn't sound like I was begging, but I would feel safer knowing he was here at least for tonight. "Wow, a compromise huh?well, that sounds reasonable. I'll be right down the hall, just call my name and I'll be here before your done saying it." He smiled. I smiled back at him, as he got up and left the room. Well, isn't this an eventful day? So the Batman is my father, it figures?of all the men out there who could have been my dad, I get stuck with the guy I hate? Meanwhile, the Joker can get to me anytime he wants. Even on a satellite, he can still reach me. Can it get any worse? A secret government building- Amanda Waller sat at her mahogany desk, studying the files of the all the members of the Justice League. Her dislike of the Justice League was only rivaled with her hate for the Batman. He was always one step ahead of her, with blackmail over her no less. She had to find some way to control him, somehow? Amanda Waller led a group that was formed at the behest of the United States government to create a counterforce to the Justice League should they go rogue. That group was code name Checkmate. A knock on her door brought her out of her thoughts. "It's open!" she said never looking up. "I have some news, I thought you might be interested in." an agent said upon closing the door. "Unless it's something I can use against the Justice League, don't waste my time." She answered never once looking up from the files. "He might not bring down the Justice League, but it will certainly give you some control over the big black bat!" the agent said excitedly. Amanda Waller froze in her seat, as her heart froze in her chest. She had to remind herself to breathe. She looked at that man, as she regained her composer. "I'll be the judge of that. What's this news you think you have on the bat?" keeping her voice calm and steady, not wanting to show her excitement. "Our spy on the Watchtower brought me some interesting news, that the Joker discovered." He began. "The Joker, that's ridiculous, how can we take anything he says seriously?" disappointment evident in her tone. "I wouldn't have brought it to you, if it was just based on the Joker." He defended himself. "Go on then?" "Turns out a year ago the Joker killed one of Batman's Outsiders. Grace Choi, one of the Amazons." He began. "I know who she is, go on." The news was beginning to excite Amanda with promise? "While the Joker had a gun pointed at her head, she started begging. Not for herself though?" "Of course not, Amazons would never beg for their lives." Amanda interrupted, wanting him to get to the point. "Right, well anyway, she started begging. Only she was beginning on behalf of her son. She wanted the Joker to tell the Batman, that the boy was his." The agent beam proudly at the news he was able to deliver. Amanda exploded inside with happiness, not showing the agent any sign of her inward excitement. So the Batman has a son?the takes the game to a whole new level. "Where is the boy?" she asked. "Wait, it get better?or worse?depends on how you look at it." He said nervously. "You have a habit of dangling a carrot before me, get on with the whole story." She snapped. "Well, the bat didn't know he had a son. The Joker never told him, and the kid never knew. Only, the kid knew that the Joker killed his mother. So the boy, Tristan is his name, well he was out hunting the Joker every night. The Joker found out, and did a little hunting of his own?if you know what I mean." He cleared his voice, realizing he was getting excited. Tristan?now she had a name. "Yes, yes, the Joker is insane. Get on with it, what did the Joker do?" she demanded. "Well, he raped the boy. Only it turns out the Batman was witness to the rape, but couldn't do anything about it because the Joker had rigged explosives to the patients of the foster home that Tristan was in after his mother was killed. After the Joker finished raping the kid, he escaped. The bat took the kid up to the Watchtower to keep him safe. Only the Joker was able to get a man on the Watchtower to take a box to the boy, to I don't know show that he could get to the kid anytime he wanted." He went on. "What was in the box?" "The video of the Grace begging him to tell the Batman that Tristan was his son, so know the all know. Only the kid flipped out and started giving Batman a pounding. Which I guess only figures, since the Batman stood there watching his own son get raped. The kid is bound to hate, I know I would." Interesting indeed?very interesting?Amanda thought to herself. "Is there anything else?" she asked. "What more could you possibly want, I would think that's more than enough." "That's why you're not paid to think, only to do as you're told. Now get out of my office, while I digest what you just told me." She said, dismissing him. Amanda smiled at the luck she was having?another move on the chessboard Batman?Checkmate? A few days later- POV- Tristan It had been a couple days since the fiasco with the Joker's DVD?though I couldn't get it out of my head; at least I had begun to calm down about it. Kal never did stay the night, and though it bothered me, I understood his point of view. So, I never asked again. The door to my room had been fixed, so I no longer had to use Superman's bed, much to my disappointment. Much to my dislike, people had begun to talk about me. The fact that I was Batman's son spread on the Watchtower like wild fire. When I walked into a room, everyone would begin to have whispered conversations or just overtly stare at me. I pretended not to notice, but it bothered me a lot. The Batman hadn't tried to talk to me again, and I wasn't sure if I was upset, or disappointed? I was walking towards the main deck of the ship when an alarm sounded, causing Kal to turn and look at me. "What is it, what's going on?" I asked knowing he could use his superhearing. "Don't worry Tristan, it's not the Joker." He said, seeing the panic in my eyes. He put his hand on my arm, and pulled me with him. I followed knowing that's what he wanted me to do, and he released my arm. We made our way to where a group of costumed men and woman were standing. As we got closer I realized there was a short blonde woman standing in the center of the group. She looked up and smiled quickly at Kal, as he led me closer to her. "Chloe, what's going on?" Kal asked her, as we walked right through the group. I whipped my head from him, to her and realized this was the Chloe he had told me about a few days ago. I saw her look me up and down, before turning back to Kal. If I had blinked, I would have missed it. The Batman walked up, followed by Diana. I quickly turned away, not wanting to start up any drama in front of everyone. I didn't need to give them another reason to keep talking about me. "We have two problems?the first is the Injustice League, or so they're calling themselves. I believe Lex Luthor his leading them, but I can't prove that just yet. Black Manta, Felix Faust, Doctor Light, Fatality, Poison Ive, Cheshire, Clayface, Deathstroke, Giganta, Killer Croc, The Key, Shadow Thief, Gorilla Grodd, Cheetah and the Parasite have attacked The Perth Company. In 1988 the Government of Western Australia decided to merge The Perth Mint (also known as Western Australian Mint) and Goldcorp Australia (its billion marketing organization) under a new entity called Gold Corporation to form Australia's leading precious metals refining, minting and value-adding group. Gold Corporation was formally created by the Gold Corporation Act 1987 on 30 June 1988 and it and all of its subsidiaries are wholly-owned by the Government of Western Australia. To reassure those dealing with The Perth Mint, especially those with precious metal or money on deposit with the Mint, a Government Guarantee was included in the Gold Corporation Act 1987. If they empty the Goldcorp, the will topple the Australian Government, and I'm sure I don't need to tell any of you how bad that would be?" she looked around to make sure there weren't any objections. "What's the second problem?" the batman asked. "I've given everyone there orders, Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman I want to speak to you alone, while the others are preparing." She said. Without further ado, everyone scattered to prepare for battle. What is it is Chloe?" Batman asked. She looked at me again, before looking back at him. "I'll just wait over here?" I said, turning and walking a little ways away. I concentrated on listening to what she was telling him. I hadn't walked so far away that I couldn't still eavesdrop. "Amanda Waller?" Chloe started, as she looked over at me again. "It would seem she has acquired the information on a certain video the Joker made. She knows you have a son, and she knows he's here on the Watchtower." Chloe finished. There was a panicked look on Kal and Diana's face, as they stared between Batman and Chloe. I wasn't sure what the looks were about, I felt as if there was something I didn't understand. "Chloe?I was going to tell you?" Batman began. Whatever he was about to say, Chloe didn't want to hear. She held her hand up to stop him. "It would seem that we have spies on board the Watchtower?that along with the fact that the Joker found a way to get someone up here means we have serious security issues." Chloe continued. "After the mission, we will have to do something about these spies." Diana said. "We should go tell Tristan that we will be leaving shortly, after you Diana." Kal said, holding his hand out for Diana to go first. Obviously Kal was trying to give Chloe and the Batman room to talk privately, though I had no clue what was going on between them. But, I intend to find out. "Chloe?" Batman started. "Don't even try it; I don't want to hear any of your excuses. You did me wrong, you should have told me but you didn't. I had to find out from Amanda Waller? Seriously?" "I handle this all wrong?Chloe, I'm handling everything all wrong?I'm the Batman, I'm supposed to be on top of everything?but I feel like I've lost control?" "I know this isn't easy on you, and though I'm seriously upset with you, I'm willing to drop it because I know you're dealing with a lot right now. Though we will be having a conversation about it another time." She said. I had to stop listening as Kal and Diana walked up. "Didn't anyone ever tell you eavesdropping is wrong, Tristan?" Kal admonished. "I'd say I wasn't but that would be a lie." I said sheepishly. "We're going to be gone for a while, but you'll be safe up here." Diana said. "Right?I'll be safe?with spies in the Watchtower?some woman named Amanda Waller, and the Joker able to know everything that's going on up here. Yeah, I'll be safe up here." I said sarcastically. "There are still many heroes left up here to protect you; I promise nothing is going to happen." Kal tried to reassure me. "I don't know any of them, why can't I just go with you guys?" I asked. "It's too dangerous, Tristan. Anything could happen on the battle field, we are not willing to take a chance with your life." Kal said. "Right, but keeping me trapped up here with no one I know, while anyone can get into the Watchtower is much safer for me. If you worried I'll run away, I promise you I won't." I begged. "Don't worry Tristan; you'll stay here with me. You can keep me company?don't worry I won't bite?well, not much anyway." Chloe said as the Batman and she walked up. I looked up at Kal, but he just smiled at me. Knowing him he was glad it was his best friend watching out for me. I could see the relief in his eyes, as he looked at her. "I guess you all have it figured out? I guess I once again don't have a say in my own life." I said bitterly. "Tristan..." the Batman began. "Look, I don't want to argue with you before you leave on a mission. So, just go without trying to talk to me, that way I won't have to feel guilty if something bad happens to you. Like say you stub your toe or something." "Right." The Batman's lip twitched. I couldn't tell if that was a smile, or grimace, but he got the point. They all turned and began walking away, leaving me with the mysterious Chloe? I stood there watching her using the controls, not having a clue as to what she was doing. Suddenly monitors appeared showing us the mission taking place on earth. My mouth hung open as I watched the Justice league fight, particularly the Batman. He doesn't have any powers, yet he's taking down heavy hitters. My mind started to wonder, what would it be like to fight like Batman? If I had been taught by him, would the Joker have ever been able to do what he did to me? I guess it's a moot point anyway, as the Joker did do what he did and I only just found out the Batman was my father. It's not like he would have been able to teach me anything, hell it's not like he's trying to teach me now. Doesn't matter, I don't need him anyway. "Stupid Bat!" not realizing I said it out loud. "Want to talk about it?" she asked. "What's there to talk about?" "Why you hate Batman so much." "Don't ask me questions to which you already know the answer. That would be like insulting my intelligence." I said raising an eyebrow at her. "Wow, they weren't kidding when they said I needed to watch out for you. Alright Tristan, from here on in there will be no games. Straight talk only between us, deal?" she asked holding out her hand for us to shake on it. I thought about it for a second, and realized two things. One, she's the first person to be straight up with me from the start. Respecting me enough not to treat me like I was a kid, which everyone else had! Two, she was Kal's best friend which means I didn't really want to make her my enemy, now did I? So I took her hand and shook on it. "Okay, now that we got that out of the way. I get to ask you a question, for every question you're going to ask me." I said. "Okay, shoot." She said. The questions I wanted to ask were about Kal, but I was more than certain she wasn't willing to answer his private information. "What do you do up here, why do they call you Watchtower?" I asked instead. "Growing up with Kal, we had spent more of our youth helping those who were infected with Kryptonite. That along with helping Kal grow up to become Superman, is what I dedicated my youth to. At some point Kal and I grew up, and a new world of Mete-humans came out of the woodwork. So I decided that since I was able to Kal, maybe I could help others. Watchtower is the name of our first base in Metropolis. That was my code name, because I organized our groups from a tower above Metropolis. Now were just a little higher up watching." She teased. "What about your private life, I mean do you even have time for one?" I started to ask, but she held her hand up stopping me. "That's more than one question, so it's my turn first. Tell me the exact reason behind your hate for the Batman?" she asked. "This isn't some teen rebellion; just because I suddenly find out he's my dad. He was a sperm donor, nothing else. I don't know him, and he certainly doesn't know anything about me. One does not just appear out of thin air and say 'I'm your father" and expect a welcome wagon ready to welcome you home. I haven't needed a father my whole life, so I'm pretty sure I won't need him the rest. But the real thing you want me to talk about is, how can I explain in words just how much a person can never?I mean never, get over the fact that the Batman stood there while the Joker did what he did!" I said, turning away as my eyes began to tear up. I said more than I had meant to say, which I'm sure pleased her to no end. "Since I know you are quite intelligent, I want you to ask yourself if what you said actually makes any sense. You know that the Joker set the place up to blow if Batman where to touch anything. What would you have done if the roles were reversed? Could you let the Joker kill all those people? Answer honestly, Tristan." Now that was a low blow seen as how I really never thought about it like that, though I'm sure she realized that. That took the steam right out of me, stopping me dead in my tracks. "That's not fa?" I started but again she stopped me. "That's not fair? What's fair about you blaming Batman, for what the Joker did to you?" she asked. "You're right, it isn't fair. Neither is what happened to my Mother, or what happened to me. I didn't get a say in it?I lost everything?everything?" I cried. "I know Tristan, and I'm sorry about that. But since you know now that Batman is your father, don't you want the chance to get to know him? To actually have a father who wants to be there for you, who wants to be a part of your life? You have a second chance at having a family, why would you let what the Joker did, ruin that chance?" she asked. Now that she had me all emotional, I was beginning to see the true reasons I was in pain. The true reason I was scared to deal with Batman? "He saw what he did to me?he was right there as the Joker raped me?he raped me?" I fell to my knees as I cried. The flood gates were open now, and everything was coming out. "I can't look at him, knowing that he saw what happened to me?knowing that he saw his son being raped by the sick son of a bitch that killed my mother?Chloe, how am I supposed to look or talk to the Batman when I can't even look in the mirror at myself?when?I'm so dirty?" I cried. "No, Tristan, no?don't you ever think like that, ever. What was done to you was not your fault?that was the doing of an immoral sociopath. Tristan, Batman loved you long before he found out you were his son. Did you know he would check on you every night? Not just this past year since your mother was killed?I mean since you were a little boy. It was he who made sure your mother brought you home a gift every night, it was he who made sure every one of your birthdays, you woke up to something there. When you mother died, it was the first time he could actually talk to you, but it wasn't the first time he came to know you. He hates that you are in pain, and he can't do anything about it. He hates that you won't talk to him, that he doesn't know how to get you to talk to him. You are both in pain, which is all the more reason you need each other." She spoke passionately, as she hugged me close to her. "You love him, don't you?" her face turning red was all the answer I needed. "People don't work so close together, without becoming friends, and turning into loved ones." She answered coyly. "I'll take that as a yes?I have no idea what his name is, did you know that?" she nodded, and just as she was about to tell me, a man came walking up. Dressed in a black and blue costume, he had wings starting at his pecs and moving towards his shoulders. He stood at about 5'10 180 pounds of muscle, not looking like one to be messed with. "What's going on here Chloe, where is the Batman?" his deep voice sending shivers down my spine. "Hello, Nightwing." "Sorry Chloe, rough day. I've been trying to get a hold of him, but he's not answering my calls. Normally I'm ignoring his calls, so something must be up." He said. Calls him all the time?that must be nice?though it's my own fault he has nothing to do to with me?grrrr, this is so annoying?Talking about my feelings made me realize certain things, but they didn't help me to find the way to get over Batman standing there while I was raped. How could he stand to look at me, when truly I can't stand to look at myself? "He's out on a mission; he must have his hands full if he's ignoring you calls. Nightwing, I'd like you to meet Tristan Choi, Tristan, this is Nightwing." She introduced us. "Tristan Choi, as in Grace Choi's son?" he asked. "Yes, Grace was my mother." I answered as I shook his hand. "I'm sorry about your mother, she was an amazing woman." He said, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Um?yeah?she was?" I stuttered. Just then Fire and Ice came walking over. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have a very important question." Fire said in a Brazilian accent. "What is it, Fire?" Chloe asked. "We heard a rumor that you are the Batman's son, and we wanted to know if it were true?" she asked, while pointing her finger at me. "What? Are you out of your mind? Why would you ask that?" Nightwing asked, before I could answer. Could he have been any more disgusted by the thought that I could be Batman's son? "As a matter of fact, I am." I spoke making sure to look directly at him. "Yes, you owe me twenty bucks girl, now pay up." Fire told Ice. "That's not true, why would you say something like that?" Nightwing asked. "He's the sperm donor that my mother used, so don't worry I won't take your precious Batman away from you." "Chloe, what's going on here, why is he saying that?" Nightwing demanded. "What difference does it make to you whether or not he's my father?" I shot back. "Just calm down, Batman will explain everything to you later. Maybe if you would answer his calls when he calls you, then you would know what's going on around you." Chloe chided. This was just plain ridiculous, who was this guy and what did it matter if the bat was my father. It's not like I was trying to make a claim on him. "Look, I don't know what's got your knickers in a twist bird boy, but for the last time if you want Batman so bad keep him. I don't want anything to do with him, got it? I am so out of here." I spat out angrily as I turned to walk away. "Tristan, you are supposed to stay with me. Nightwing was just leaving anyway, weren't you?" Chloe gave him a stern look. "I'm sorry, I'm just shocked. I mean who wouldn't be? I didn't mean to?" Nightwing began, but he was never able to finish. A large blast hit him in the back sending him flying. I had no idea where it came from, or who had done it but I headed over to Chloe as fast as I could. "Tristan, stay down, no matter what you stay down." Nodding my agreement, I watched her as her fingers whizzed over the keyboard. I had no idea what she was doing, or if she even succeeded at it, but the next thing I knew the lights went out and we were thrust into darkness. "Oh, this is not good. This is not good at all." I panicked. "Not a problem, the emergency power will kick in any second now." She said. "What about Nightwing, what if he's hurt?" or dead, but I didn't say that. "He can take care of himself; right now you're my first priority. We have to make our way out of here, we're sitting ducks in the open like this." She said, taking my hand and pulling my in the darkness. Before we even took five steps, the emergency lights came on. Which normally would have been a good thing, but being able to see now, standing around us with guns pointing at the two of us were a group of twelve men all wearing sunglasses. "Give us the boy, and no one will get hurt." the obvious leader of the group. "You can't have him." Chloe stood tall, as he pushed my behind her. "Come now, one little girl against all my men you wouldn't last a second. Surely the boy wishes none to come to harm, he will give himself over willingly or everyone here shall die." The man said. Great so everyone would die if I didn't go with them, no pressure to do the right thing there. I saw everything Diana and Kal had taught me. I saw how to take out these men one by one. But this wasn't just about me; there were others whose lives were at stake if I did the wrong thing. In that moment I understand why Batman had stood there while the Joker raped me. He had no choice in the matter, much the same as I don't have a choice in the matter. Others would die if I did the wrong thing, same as the Batman. "I'm sorry Chloe, but I understand now. Tell Batman I understand why he did what he had to do?tell him I understand." I said walking up to the leader. "What about the girl boss, should we bring her?" a man asked. "No, leave her. We came for the boy and now we have him. Let's go." The leader said. I turned back and looked at Chloe one last time, before we made our way to a hanger housing ships. "Who are you working for? Is it the Joker?" I asked. "Don't worry your pretty little head, it's not the Joker." An amused expression on his face led me to believe he knew all about why I thought it might be the Joker.
