Ok as well before we start this is based on the series Star Trek Voyager
but with a twist from the original story line and i hope you like it.
Chapter 11: Civil War Part 2

"Return fire." I ordered as yet another torpedo struck the ship. "They have
knocked out our targeting scanners." B'Elanna replied. "Switch to manual."
I ordered. "Mr Paris, evasive action pattern omega." Tom said to Paris as
he was standing next to the helm. "Captain, the malinche and Lakota are
moving in for an attack run." Harry told me. "Harry, tell Captain Sanders
and Captain Bentine to hold their positions." I ordered. "Sir, the
Wellington and the phoenix are moving to an attack posture and targeting
us." Seven told me. "B'Elanna lock targets and fire when ready." I told
her. "Harry any response from the malinche or the Lakota?" I
asked. "Negative sir, they are still proceeding on their attack runs." He
told me. "Open a channel." I told him. "Open sir." He replied.  "Captain
Sanders, Captain Bentine hold your positions and maintain formation.
That's an order." I said. "No answer." Harry replied. "Captain, the Devore
and just taken a direct hit to her engineering section, their warp core has
taken damage estimating 3 minutes to a core breach." B'Elanna told
me. "Harry open a channel." I ordered. "On screen." He said. The viewscreen
came to life and there I saw the damage the Devore had taken. "Josh,
prepare your crew for emergency transport, we are getting you out of
there." I told him. "Much appreciated Jack." He said. "Harry, order the
other ships to continue the attack and cover us. Paris bring us to within
transporter range." I said. "Aye sir." He replied. "B'Elanna once we are in
range, drop shields and begin transport to cargo bay 2." I told
her. "Understood." She replied. "We are in range." Paris told
me. "Initiating transport."  B'Elanna told me. "1 minute to warp core
breach." Harry told me. "Open a channel to all ships." I ordered. "Channel
open." He replied. "All ships this is Voyager prepare to go to warp speed,
the devore's warp core is going critical. Head back to Earth." I announced
before Harry closed the channel.  "Message acknowledged." Harry then told
me. "Transport Complete." B'Elanna told me. "Re-raise shields, All ships
warp speed." I said. I saw on the viewscreen as the ships began to go to
warp. "All ships have gone." Seven told me. "20 seconds to core breach."
Harry told me. "Mr Paris, set a course for Earth. Warp 9. Engage." I said
as I returned to my seat.

It took less than an hour to return to Earth and the view of the planet on
the viewscreen made me tingle.  "Captain, Message from Admiral Janeway. We
are to dock at McKinley Station for repairs and you are to proceed to her
office." Harry told me. "Understood, Tom will you handle the docking and
advise transporter room 2 that I will be beaming down." I told him. "Aye
Captain." He replied. I stood up and headed for the turbolift. "Deck 8." I
called out when I entered. The journey was short and it wasn't long before
I landed on deck 8. I walked around a few corridors and finally walked into
transporter room 2. "Ready to transport you to Starfleet command Jack."
Luke said to me. "Very good." I said as I stepped up onto the
platform. "Energise." I said and I dematerialised and then re-appeared on
earth outside the main command building. I approached the main entrance and
was stopped by a security guard. "Please place your thumb on the ID padd
please sir." He said to me handing me a padd. I placed my thumb on it and
returned the pad to him. "Captain Carter, you are cleared." He said after
he checked the padd. "Thank you." I replied. I entered the building and
walked straight into a turbolift and went up 9 levels to the top of the
building where Kathryn's office now was. I walked down the hall and stood
outside her office. I knocked on the door and entered the room. "Ahh Jack,
please come in." she said to me. I walked in and took a seat as she poured
me some coffee. She handed me the cup and then looked at me. "Report on the
attack." She asked me. "It didn't go according to plan. The Devore was
destroyed, luckily we saved the crew, however there is something that
concerned me during the attack." I told her. "Well done on handling the
devore, it's such a shame to loose a ship. In the last month we have lost
11 ships, and the shipyards are working over time to re-build ships and we
have 4 ready for launch in the next few days. Now what's the issue you had
during the battle." She asked me. It was hard to believe that this
rebellion had been going on for a month. "During the attack, we had an
issue."  I said. She looked at me expecting me to continue and then finally
said, "Care to be more specific." she said. "2 captains in the fleet didn't
maintain formation and broke off. When I ordered them to stay they ignored
my orders and took it upon themselves to begin their own attack run." I
said. "What captains?" she asked. "Captain Sanders and Captain Bentine." I
told her. She stood up and looked out the window. "I just think that maybe
because I'm still relatively new to being a captain and the two of them
have been captains for a long time that they may feel threatened that
someone new is starting out and in a superior position to them." I told
her. "Yeah well, I'm going to make sure you are heard. Captain Jack Carter,
I hereby promote you to the rank of fleet captain." She said. She pulled
open a drawer on her desk and pulled out a pip and attached it to my
collar. "Congratulations, fleet captain carter." She said. "Thank you." I
replied. "I shall send a message to everyone to advise them and you can
head up to Voyager and look over the repairs and also look over this." She
said handing me a pad. "What's this?" I asked. "Starfleet intelligence has
intercepted a transmission from Admiral Hayes to Admiral Jenkins, who is
commanding the Sutherland and Hayes right hand man. The message said Hayes
wanted Jenkins to head to DS9 and try to get as many of the 5000 photon
torpedoes as possible before he gets caught. Since we cut him off from all
facilities that have weapons depots he has no choice. I want you to plan a
away of capturing Jenkins and getting him back here." She told me. "Yes
ma'am."  I replied. "Dismissed." She said and I turned and left.

When I walked on to the bridge on Voyager, I was welcomed with a round of
applause. "What's this?" I asked. "Admiral Janeway just sent out a general
message to all Starfleet personnel saying that she has promoted you to
fleet captain of Admiral Janeway and you are now in charge of the entire
fleet and all ship captains are to follow your orders." Tom told me. "I

went to the transporter room and beamed down and collected the children
before meeting my mum and dad in the courtyard. "Where shall we go?" I
asked. "There's a great little coffee shop on market street called..." my
mother said before I cut her off. "The Night owl." I said. "Yes, how did
you know." She asked. "Kathryn took me just after we came back from the
Delta Quadrant." I said "She took us as well." My father replied. "Let's

looking out the window.  "I think back over every command decision that
Kathryn made when she was in command of this ship and all the ways she got
around things and the one thing that sticks in my mind is the day we tried
to steal a transwarp coil." I told him. "Well that's not an option, we
can't infiltrate a Borg sphere to get him can we." He said
chuckling. That's when it dawned on me. "That's it. Tom you're a genius." I
told him. "Why? What have you got in mind." He asked. "Think back, Tom
Paris acted like a terrible officer to flush out a kazon spy on board, and
he left the ship and ended up finding out. Ro Larren, she acted like a
member of the maquis to infiltrate them. We could do the same." I told
him. "How is that possible?" he asked me. "It's easy. I make it look like I
don't agree with Kathryn and I am starting to get pissed off with her. I
take a shuttle and find the Sutherland and ask to join the rebels. Of
course they will be suspicious but when a background search shows this
after Kathryn set's it up I should be accepted. If I know Jenkins he will
ask Hayes if he can keep me as his fleet captain on board the Sutherland so
they can use my knowledge to help them. I will of course agree and help
them get to DS9. I will suggest the admiral and I lead an away team over
and get the weapons and transport them over, that's when Voyager will
arrive and disable the Sutherland. Colonel Kira will be standing by and
when Voyager arrives she calls for intruder alert, after she detects us.
Jenkins and I along with the away team will try to fight our way towards
the defiant to get off the station. But when we get aboard the defiant
there will be a security team waiting there for us to capture him. While
all of this is happening we send over armed security teams to the
Sutherland and take over the ship. We then dock it at DS9 where Josh Martin
will be standing by with his crew to board the ship and take it back to
Earth." I told him. "Jack, you are amazing, that's an incredible plan. Can

Voyager comes into DS9 we won't be alone, I want to bring the Cortez and

send the enterprise after me. I will then set the self destruct on Voyager
and take a shuttle and run. I will head for the Sutherland. You then need
to send another general message saying that I have officially left
Starfleet and I am now to be classed as the enemy. Jenkins and Hayes will
defiantly find out about this and welcome me. The rest is as it says on the
pad." I told her. "You don't plan to blow up voyager do you?" she asked
me. "No, B'Elanna will be able to instruct the computer that I have been
relieved of duty and Tom will be in command and be able to over ride the
self destruct." I told her. "I see, and how am I meant to let everyone know
that you are not actually rouge and that you are actually on a secret
mission." She asked. "By the command protocol upload. Send a message that
will be then transmitted to all ships and captains will have to enter their
level 9 security code to gain access and as all the codes for the fugitives
have been de-authorised so they won't be able to gain access." I told
her. "Good work Jack, when do you leave?" she asked. "As soon as I get the
warp core online. Oh as well could you have a word with Starfleet security
and tell them to give me the quantum torpedoes I have requested." I told
her. "Consider it done, oh and Jack. I know how things will work when you
meet Jenkins and Hayes they will want you to prove your loyalty and the one
thing that will tempt them is access to Starfleet command astrometric data
about the location of all our ships. I have set up a fake file for you to
do just that, access the usual way but add alpha 1 at the end that file is
for you, and use Starfleet command authorisation sigma 5 that will give you
access." She told me. "Thank you." I replied. She turned her computer
around and showed me the screen. The screen read `weapons transfer
complete'. "They have just been beamed on board." She told me. "Voyager to
Captain Carter." B'Elanna said over the comm. "Go ahead."  I
replied. "Captain, weapons transfer is complete we have received a
transport of 100 quantum torpedoes." She told me. "Understand, I will be
back on board soon. Carter out." I said. "Good luck Jack. You really are
going to need it."  She told me. "See you soon." I replied.

Once I arrived back aboard Voyager I organised a meeting with the senior
staff and once everyone was in the room. "Computer seal the doors and
deactivate the internal sensors within this room." I said as the doors
sealed. "Ladies and Gents we don't have long so I need to make you all of
the events that are about to happen. We are about to depart soon. We are
setting a course for Carton 2 where we will attack the federation sensor
post." I said. "That's one of ours." Harry told me. "Harry please. I know
that's ours. That's the whole point we need to make it look like I have
gone rouge. The enterprise will then be dispatched to stop us. When they
arrive we attack them. You will then show to mutiny against me. I will then
set this ships self destruct and head for a shuttle and run for the
Sutherland.  They will pick me up and Kathryn will send a message saying I
have gone rouge and be treated as the enemy. B'Elanna the moment I leave
this ship declare me rouge and the computer will give command to Tom. Tom
deactivate the self destruct with your counter command authorisation. You
are then to wait and rendezvous with the Cortez and the Archer. You are
then to take an indirect approach to DS9. When Kira detects the Sutherland
you will all go to high warp and head to DS9 by which point Admiral Jenkins
and I will already be aboard DS9 trying to get the weapons from the
station. Kira will call for intruder alert and attempt to stop us. I will
suggest to Jenkins that we take the defiant and head there. The moment we
get to the defiant there will be a security team there to capture us. While
this is going I want all available security personnel to arm themselves and
board the Sutherland and take the ship. Kira will also be sending teams
from the station and Captain Josh Martin and his crew will also be at the
station ready to take the Sutherland. Once the ship has been seized Captain
Martin will take command of the ship and head back to earth and that's when
I will come back. Do you all understand?" I asked.  Everyone nodded
confirming that they did. "Then let's move." I said. Everyone rose and
headed for the bridge. "Harry are you ready." I asked as I walked onto the
bridge. "Yes sir." He said. "Then by all means, initiate umbilical
separation and break us free of the station." I ordered. He worked the
controls and I saw us broken free. "We are free." He told me. "Paris take
us out, full impulse." I ordered.  We flew out and were clear. "Tom, set a
course for Carton 2. Maximum Warp.  Engage." I ordered as we took off at
warp.

After an hour at warp we arrived at the co-ordinates. "Approaching the
sensor station." B'Elanna told me. "Then let's start phase one. Red alert,
all hands to battlestations." I ordered. "Shields up, arm weapons." Tom
ordered. "Jack, the enterprise is 10 minutes away. Captain picard has sent
an encoded transmission, he confirms his orders." Harry told me. "Good,
target the station phasers only. Fire." I said as we began attacking the
station. I saw B'Elanna fire at the station and begin the attack. I looked
at Tom and then my console and saw the enterprise dropping out of warp. I
nodded at him. "People get ready." I said. "Computer initiate the self
destruct sequence, authorisation Carter 79 alpha leo." I said. The computer
chirped in response. "Computer Commander Thomas Walker, confirm self
destruct sequence authorisation walker 36 beda Oscar." He said as the
computer chirped again. "Computer Lieutenant Commander B'Elanna Torres,
confirm self destruct sequence authorisation Torres 14 gamma victor." She
said as the computer chirped. "Command authorisation accepted, awaiting
final code to begin self destruct sequence." The computer
confirmed. "Computer this Captain Jack carter, destruct sequence Alpha 1,
20 minute countdown. Enable." I said. "Self destruct sequence has been
initiated, warp core overload in 20 minutes." The computer confirmed. "Here
is where I take my leave." I said. I looked at Tom and smiled before
heading to the turbolift and leaving the bridge. I headed straight for the
shuttlebay and entered a shuttle. After getting all systems online I
spoke. "Computer initiate cold launch sequence." I said as everything came
online. "Computer, depressurize the shuttlebay and open the space doors."
I said. I flew the shuttle out and away I went at warp. "Computer set a
course for the Sutherland and engage at maximum warp." I said. The computer
did so and away I went. It took me 2 hours at warp to finally reach the
Sutherland. My heart was pounding, as this was the part where I would
either succeed or fail.  The console bleeped and they were hailing
me. "Computer open a channel." I said. The screen in the centre of the
console changed and there was Admiral Jenkins, "Captain Jack Carter, what a
surprise this is." He said. "Admiral Jenkins sir." I said. "I hear you have
been a bad boy Captain." He said. "Well if that's what you want to call
it. I call it, escaping while I still have some sanity left. After the
amount of bullshit the president and Admiral Janeway fed me it's a wonder I
have any left. I'm here to show my support for Admiral Hayes and to help
him take what is his." I told him. "Is that so, and what support could you
give Hayes." He asked. "I can get you access to the Starfleet command
Astrometric database and show you the location of all their ships and their

re-appearing in the transporter room of the Sutherland with two armed

off I want to know how you found I'm planning a trip to DS9." He

Voyager picked it up and I was given it. I buried the evidence of it and

told me. "Fine. Computer this is fleet captain jack carter, interface with
command system Alpha signus 1, from Starfleet communication relay beda
437." I said. "Access established." The computer replied. "Access Starfleet
astrometric command database alpha one." I said. "Authorisation required."
The computer replied. "Starfleet command authorisation sigma 5." I
said. "Access granted." The computer said and there displayed was the chart
that Admiral Janeway had planted. I turned the computer round to him and
showed him. "Jenkins to Hayes, he has shown he can be trusted.  I request I
keep him here as my fleet captain. He and I can board DS9 as ranking
officers." He said over the comm. "Proceed." Said Hayes and the channel
ended. "Okay Jack your with me. Let's go." He said.

After spending 3 hours at warp we finally arrived at DS9. "Okay Jack you
got us here. It's your move."  Jenkins said. "Very well, Admiral you and I
will beam over." I said. "I want two security guards to escort us." Jenkins
said. "Very well, Let's go." I said.  We headed for the armoury and then
the transporter room before we beamed into the weapons bay of the
station. "Jack let's do it." Jenkins said. "You two guard the door." He
then added to the guards. I took out my tricorder and began de-activating
the torpedoes and getting them ready for transport whilst I also sent a
message to voyager. "How much longer?" Jenkins asked. "Not much longer."  I
said. "ATTENTION ALL PERSONEL, WE HAVE INTRUDERS ON THE CENTRAL CORE,
INTRUDER ALERT." Came kira's voice over the comm. "We have been detected
and they have activated an transporter scrambler." I said drawing my
phaser. "We are trapped." Jenkins said. "Admiral, we could take the
defiant." I said. "I like your thinking Jack, a warship with the defiants
power could be useful." He said. "Let's go." He said. We started heading
out the door as bajoran security emerged through another door and began
firing. "Sir's go." A security guard said as they began laying down
fire. Jenkins and I began running down the corridor and into a
turbolift. "Defiant." I called out. The turbolift began ascending and
getting us to the defiant. We soon arrived in the docking ring and into the
docking port and onto the defiant. We soon made our way to the bridge and
as planned the guards were there waiting for us. "Stand down." Kira said
pointing a weapon at us. "Damn." I said. "Looks like we are done for
Admiral." I said. "Oh well Jack we went down trying." He said. Kira took a
phaser from one of the Starfleet guards and pointed that at me and her
bajoran weapon at Jenkins. She then dropped it so I could grab it. "Or
maybe your just done for Admiral." I said pointing the weapon at him "You
traitor." He said.  "Not a traitor, a loyal Starfleet officer to Admiral
Kathryn Janeway and The president of the united federation of planets. Take
him away." I said. The guards took him to the brig and I smiled. "Good work
Captain." Kira said.  "Thanks. Any chance you can beam me back to Voyager."
I asked. "Stand by." She said. I was beamed to the bridge
 of Voyager where I found the ship at Red Alert and Tom sat in the first
officers chair. "Welcome back Captain." He said coming up to me and giving
me a hug. "Thanks." I replied.  "How did you guys do?" I asked. "Captain
Martin has now got full command of the Sutherland. The crew are under heavy
guard in crew quarters, and they went to warp 5 minutes ago." Tom told
me. "Good news. Jenkins is now in our brig he was beamed there and is under
heavy guard from both our security team and Bajoran officers from DS9." I
told them. "Then let's go." Tom said. "You heard him Mr Paris. Set a course
for Earth and take us home." I said. "Aye captain." He replied.

"Captain carter you have done excellent work." The president said as I
faced her and Kathryn in her office in Paris. "Thank you ma'am." I
replied. "Your efforts certainly won't be forgotten." She told
me. "Admiral, how did the interrogation of Jenkins go?" she asked
Kathryn. "Very well, he has given us the location of the base. With your
permission ma'am I would like to begin a plan of attack and final full
offensive to put this to bed once and for all."  Kathryn told
her. "Permission Granted with one condition." The president told her.
"Sir?" she asked. "I would like Captain Carter to do the plan and lead the
attack." She told Kathryn. I was stunned. "Well Jack." Kathryn asked. "Of
course Madam President" I replied. "Very good, well Jack. Good luck." The
president replied. Kathryn and I left the office and headed out of the
building. "Well Jack it's not over yet. But hopefully with you it could
be."  Kathryn said. "I will do my best." I replied. There was one thing
that Kathryn had said which was true. It's not over yet and boy was that
true.
