Mark grimaced over his wrists as the ropes dropped to the floor after Ada efficiently cut it off in one swift swipe. He didn't bother cleaning some of the blood, as most of it had already dried. (This is gonna bruise & scar...) Ada: "Your from the clinic, right" Her comment was unexpected, and it took Mark a few seconds to comprehend it. He nodded. Ada: "So then, rescuing a friend from the warehouse now?" A slight smile curled onto her exotic lips. Mark: "No... I'm here to-" But he cut his sentence off, and realized that telling a spy that he was after a T-Virus sample wasn't the best idea. Ada: "Don't worry, I know what your up to." Mark: "Pardon?" Ada: "I overheard your conversations on the headsets" Shocked, Mark spoke. Mark: "How the fuck did you do that???" Again, she smiled. Ada: "It's amazing what lengths a company will go to get you the latest gear these days..." Mark thought for a moment, before he realized- Mark: "I need to go" Ada: "Where?" She folded her arms, and Mark was thinking about why she was wearing such a fancy red dress in such a... shit hole. Mark: "My... team mates are in trouble" He stood up from the wooden chair and gazed for a moment at the soldier lying dead on the floor infront of him. Moments ago, this guy was about to give Mark 'Texan Cock', and then throw his used body in the black sewers beneath the city. Luckily enough, the door behind him had burst open and Ada saved the day. Mark: "What are you doing here?" The lady eyed him and his army equipment before she continued the conversation. Ada: "Same as you... a sample of course..." Mark: "Oh... well... good luck with that." Mark turned away from her and began to walk out of the room. Ada: "No" Mark: "Hm?" He stopped and turned his head. Ada: "They have got your friends" She spoke in a serious tone. Mark frowned. Mark: "Who..." Ada: "The enemy of course" Silence... Mark: "I don't understand..." Ada: "Umbrella has taken your people to... experiment on..." YOU BITCH! DON'T LIE TO ME! He snapped out of the little movie in his head. Mark: "are you... sure??" Ada: "I saw them haul your team into trucks while I was in another security center." Mark: "Haul my team... Oh my god! Are they dead??" Ada: "It was hard to tell" Mark was surprised at how calm this red-blooded woman was. (Fuck...?) Mark: "Where are the trucks" Ada: "They left" Mark: "What??" Ada: "They left the vicinity around 10 minutes ago" Mark stood there dumb founded. Umbrella had his only family, and they were going to... experiment on them. He didn't know what to do, so he went into denial. Mark: "You're wrong, they're still in there, and they need my help. And if you will excuse me, I need to leave." Ada: "Check your PDA" Mark: "What?" It was a simple command, so he did what he was told. Yet what he saw only backed up Ada's story. All the dots that represented the team members on the 3d map were gone. (Shit) His heart raced, his head hurt, and his hands began to tremble. So it was true... Mark: "...In what direction did they go..." He wasn't giving up yet. Ada: "Maybe you don't understand what the situation is here kid, they are gone, and when something is gone, you cannot get it back." Her voice rose. Mark: "Bullshit! These people saved my life in Raccoon, I can't just abandon them like it's yesterday's news!" Mark's level of noise also rose, and at this point, he was 100% serious. And he was right, these people were all he had at this moment; he didn't know where else to go if he didn't have him at his side. Mark: "And if your not willing to help, then I understand! Now, I can't afford to waste more time" With that, he turned around and left the room in a hurry, to find him self outside the moment he stepped out. The room turned out to be a small block building in one of the parking lots. He didn't know where he was going, but the best option was to find anything useful within the warehouse. **************************************************************************** Ada stood within the shadows of the security block and watched the boy leave her sight in a hurry. Even though the past revelation to the kid broke his already shattered heart, she couldn't bear the thought of him going back in the warehouse after witnessing what Umbrella let loose in the tainted building. And even though she was a girl that only stuck to her own business, these people were trying to bring the multi-billionaire corrupt-company down, and that was something she respected deeply. She remembered when she was back in the warehouse security room and witnessed the monsters that Umbrella had spawned, take what apparently seemed to be the kid's team mates one by one, dropping them off, unconscious, in a dark room to be collected by Umbrella. Even though Umbrella wasn't expecting any visitors at their little storehouse in L.A, they still laid out their traps. And they worked. Now, they have new flesh to test their new virus on. And some of the people within the team seemed strong, so, logically, these people would make worthy candidates for whatever Umbrella wanted. And that kid. She remembered that one of the team mates in the dark room wasn't taken by Umbrella into their trucks, but left there, because he had what seemed to be a wound in his stomach, making him a weak host. She thought back to the thought of watching the screens and remembered that the figure lying on the floor, sobbing, and clutching his stomach was a kid at around the same age as Mark. Whoever he was, it was too late to save him; since Ada left a little surprise in the warehouse for Umbrella to suck on. (That's what you get for making me loose my fucking key for that fucking cabinet) she thought. But then again, that cabinet might not have contained the sample she was looking for to bring to her temporary bosses at BIOfaction. She stopped for a little while, and thought of Mark. She knew where the truck was heading to, and she was 100% sure that the destination had the samples she was looking for. **************************************************************************** Ada: "Hey you" Mark stopped walking away from the security block and turned to face the lady that was jogging towards him in her pretty, crimson dress. Mark: "I'm busy" He was about to turn away when she landed her hand on his shoulder and turned him. Ada: "I know where they are going to" Mark stood there; a small flicker of hope burning within his stomach. Again, his thoughts began to race in excitement, and his stomach went into a knot. Mark: "Where? Where are they??" Ada: "I'm willing to take you to their destination" (You haven't answered my question... is this a trap??) Mark: "...I said where, and what's in it for you?" Ada: "Raccoon City, and they have a sample of the virus at their place waiting with my name on it." (Raccoon... What the piggy fuck??) Mark: "The place is dead, stop wasting my time" Ada: "No, only downtown Raccoon is destroyed, but the surrounding zones are not" Mark frowned. Mark: "So there are still zombies lurking in the suburbs??" Ada: "No, the bomb was a bomb... and a disinfectant... so even though part of the city was destroyed, the rest was still disinfected." This made sense. Ada: "But the forests are not" A shiver ran down Mark's spine. He remembered the creepy woods that surrounded his birth town, and how there were mysterious deaths within the woods. 'Cannibal Doings' is what the town made of it, before the S.T.A.R.S supposedly 'gave themselves in' for doing the gruesome killings. Mark: "Do you know where in Raccoon?" Ada: "No, but there is a small undercover S.T.A.R.S base in the town, and they may have a clue since they have been there since the explosion, researching stuff about Umbrella." Mark: "A S.T.A.R.S base...? Aren't the government after them?" Ada: "Yes, but this is a secret" (Jeez, duh Mark. 'Undercover'...) Mark looked at Ada for a moment and thought to himself. This was his only chance to save his friends, he had to take it, no matter what he was going to face in the haunted city. It was a chance for redemption lying right at his feet. He was their only hope. Mark: "When do we leave" She didn't say anything, but grabbed his arm and dragged him away from the warehouse to a car a few streets down. **************************************************************************** 2 minutes later, Mark was sitting in a jaguar and speeding away from the warehouse. And at exactly 8:13 PM, Ada's 'gift' to Umbrella unraveled itself in a magnificent explosion, tainting the haunting night sky with a vicious red and orange, and shook the entire area. Mark just hoped that no one important in the warehouse was supposed to be there. **************************************************************************** So what ya think? Drop me any comments or criticism at re_crimson@yahoo.com or visit/join my group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Umbrella_Co/ or http://geocities.com/re_crimson Another short chapter for the masses. But then again, this is a pivotal moment, which would set up the last part of the series in... you guessed it... Raccoon City. And ty to the people that have been emailing me, you have all been very supportive and patient. (And don't forget to vote in the polls). And as for the people waiting for Underworld, that series will not commence until the summer, as the entire thing is being planned out (unlike REC, in which I struggle for some times to think of what's next in the story). And some of you may wonder why the hell I posted chapter 0 of that story when it will make it's debut in the summer. Pshh, even I don't know. And why didn't I write about the guys and their experiences in the warehouse? well, thats for one of the REC sub stories after the series is completed.
