Supernatural: Outer Beings

"Have the doctors said anything?" Martin asked.

"No." I said, looking down at John's face. We had been in an accident a month or so ago, John had crashed through the windshield and was severely damaged. Along with cuts and bruises, a large part of his brain had been injured; there was no guarantee that he was going to wake.

"So, he's..."

"Non-responsive." I said, "The doctors can't really say anything."

"I always hated that about doctors, they don't say anything."

"I think it's more like they don't know." I said.

There was a crash and shouting outside the room! Martin and I looked at each other and headed outside to take a look at the cause of all the commotion, it was a girl being dragged down the hall.

"What's the problem?" I asked.

"Just a rowdy patient." The doctor said, letting a liquid shoot from the syringe, "Nothing for you to concern yourself with."

Martin and I looked at each other, then shrugged and headed back to the room.

"Stop! I saw it, the Winchester! I saw him, in danger!" the crazy woman shouted.

I turned immediately and stared at her, but before I could ask her a question, they carted her away.

Chapter 37: Ghostbuster.

"Are you sure I can't see her?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, only close family." The nurse said, "Sorry."

I walked back to John's room and watched him for a minute.

"You couldn't get in?" Martin asked.

I shook my head.

"Why didn't you use your crazy mind-altering powers on her?" Martin asked.

I looked down, "I need to find a way to the psych ward." I said.

"While you were out, your friends called." Martin said.

"My friends?" I asked.

"The Winchesters." Martin said, "They said something about...Tanning at the Hilton?"

"Anna Milton?" I asked.

"Yeah." Martin said.

"Gimme my phone." I said, snatching it, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Just seemed like the wrong time." Martin said.

I looked at the phone, pondering my options. I could either be here, just waiting or I could go and talk to the brothers, if that's what they wanted to do. I had figure out what that crazy lady was talking about.

"You should call them." Martin said, "They might need to see you. Sounded important."

I nodded, "You have to get in to see that woman." I said.

"If you can't get in, how am I supposed to?" Martin asked.

"Come up with something." I said, "Anything."

"I'll try." Martin said as I walked away.

-

I walked to the hotel room, feeling shaken. Last time I had seen the boys, I threw Ruby through a window and told Sam that I knew his dirty, tawdry secret. My stomach turned at the thought of the past discretions. Ruby and Sam. I walked ahead and up to the second floor but I felt that familiar knot in my stomach. Should I go in? What would I say?

"You, uh, you going in?" Sam asked.

I turned to see him giving me a weak smile, "I don't know." I said.

"We should go in." Sam said, looking around.

"Where's Dean?" I asked.

"We should talk inside." Sam said.

-

"Yeah! I'm crazy! I rawf rawf! Rawf three people at once!" Martin said.

The nurse looked at him as if he were insane.

Martin jumped on the desk and kicked the papers off it, turning from the woman and pulling his pants down!

The nurse quickly picked up her phone, "George, we have another one!" she said frantically.

In no time, two burly men came bursting through the doors to the psych ward and stuck him with a needle! They quickly carted him off behind the doors.

-

I sat across from Sam. He had made a trip before I got there to get coffee. Now he was sitting across from me, no doubt trying to figure out what to say to me. I did the same, but I took more comfort in my coffee than he did. It made the silence bearable. I hated plain coffee, so this mixture was really good.

"So, how'd you get away from the cops?" Sam asked.

"I didn't." I said simply.

"You going to tell the tale or..."

"Why don't you ask me what you really want to know?" I asked.

"I slept with Ruby." Sam said.

"I know." I said quickly, "That's not a question."

"It was a...I was in a dark place." Sam said.

"I remember." I said.

"And I know that really doesn't make it okay..."

"No, it doesn't." I frowned, "How could you do that to me?"

"We're not...together." Sam said.

I sighed and rolled my eyes, wiping tears away, "You've know for a long time how I feel about you. And for you to...with Ruby..."

"I'm sorry." Sam said.

"You pushed me away, you made me feel so used and through all of it, I loved you!" I said.

"I just lost my brother!" Sam said loudly.

"I lost him too!" I shouted, "I lost him too. First I lost him, then I lost you."

Sam just stared.

"I can't keep fighting this same battle! It's over. You won...I give." I said.

"She was there. She was just there and I needed it." Sam said, "You can't understand."

"You're right, I don't!" I frowned, "I don't fit into your little club, I'm not dark and tortured! I'm just a guy trying to do what's right."

"I know." Sam said, "And I love that in you."

"You didn't love it enough to stay. To share." My gaze fell to the floor, "I didn't know that my heart could be broken into so many pieces so fast."

"Yeah, well maybe it's time you get over it." Dean said at the door.

We both turned to look at him.

-

Martin awoke to find himself strapped to a bed. He tried to move, but the straps bore into his skin, confining him to the bed. Martin searched his thoughts for a reason why he'd gotten himself into this mess like this.

"You're him." The girl from earlier said, standing at his door.

"Hey, it's you! Get me out of these things!" Martin said.

"I never heard that please." She said.

"Listen lady, I got in here to get to you." Martin said.

"The name's Diva." She smirked, "And you came to see lil ole me?"

"Diva?" Martin asked.

"You do want to get out of that bed, don't you?" Diva said.

Martin chuckled, "I didn't mean to offend you, could you please just let me out of these?" he asked.

Diva let him out, "What did you want with me?" she said.

"My friend needed to speak with you, about what you said earlier. About the Winchesters." Martin said.

"The Winchester." Diva said.

"Which one, there's two of them." Martin frowned.

"There's three of them, smarty." Diva smiled.

-

"What?" I asked.

"You heard me. This is all fine and well when we had time to snipe at each other, but dude, either forgive him and let it go or just go." Dean said.

"You know what, screw you Dean." I said, walking to the door.

"Chalis." Sam said, then looking at Dean, "Dean."

"No, if he wants to go, then let him." Dean said.

"What is with you?" I asked.

"Anna was a fallen angel." Dean explained, "The angels wanted her dead so she couldn't be used against us."

"Lemme guess, you dipped your penis into her vagina? That's all you're really good for. If not for that, you'd be a total waste." I said quickly, "I'm sorry...but you had that one coming."

"Maybe." Dean said, "And maybe you deserved what you got."

"All this time I've been praying that demon guy didn't get you, now I'm thinking about summoning him just to kick your ass!" I said angrily.

"Demon guy?" Sam asked.

"Alastair." I said, "He came to me for help, just like the angels."

"And..." Sam said.

"And I didn't help him," I lifted my shirt to show them the stitches, "So he left me with a little reminder."

"Alastair came after you?" Dean asked.

"No, I did this to myself." I frowned, "Of course he did."

"I'm sorry..."

"So this makes you say sorry? You're a complete ass to me after everything I've done to save you and that makes you apologize?" I asked.

"God, you're such a girl." Dean said.

"Screw you!" I said.

Then there was another silence. This was a doosy. There was so much I wanted to say, so much I needed to say.

"How...did he..." Dean said, breaking the silence.

"When I got out of jail, he came to me, stabbed me when I couldn't answer and left. One hell of a way to meet someone." I said.

There was another silence.

"I miss my dad." I said.

"Yeah, I know the feeling." Dean said.

"I miss my friends." I said.

"Never really had many friends." Dean said.

"I miss Chace Crawford." I said.

They both looked at me.

"Dreams." I said, "I dream."

"I wasn't sure super-witches dreamed." Dean said.

"We do." I said, "We dream. We pray. We shop. We don't shop a lot, but we love to shop."

"You didn't rat us out." Dean said.

"No." I said, "Helped that I didn't know where you were."

"Sorry for leaving you high and dry." Dean said quietly.

"It's what friends do." I said.

"I shouldn't have said what I said before." Dean said, "I'm sorry, okay?"

"I know." I said.

"Dean, can we be alone for a minute?" Sam asked.

"I need to get back to John." I said.

"Please, just stay." Sam said.

I nodded.

Dean did something that kind of shocked me, he hugged me before leaving. His hug was so warm and it felt weird, to be hugging him after all this time, after knowing he died. I expected his hug to be cold or dusty, but it was, in fact, warm. Him leaving the room felt odd, like the warmth was leaving.

"Me and Ruby..."

"You were right." I said, "We were never..."

"I love you." Sam said quickly.

I stopped and looked at him oddly, trying to find the exact moment my heart dropped.

"But I wasn't myself." Sam said, "I wish that I could go back and change some things, but I can't. I don't know what you want from me."

"All I wanted was you." I said, "To be with you, to be yours. To share your life. I needed you to find comfort in me, but when you didn't...I beat myself up. For months, I wondered why you couldn't open yourself to me. When I found out about Ruby, I asked myself why you couldn't open up to me, what was so wrong with me?"

"Chalis..." Sam said.

"But it wasn't me. It was you." I said, "I'm not going to beat myself up because though I love you, I can't make you love me back."

As I walked to the door I stopped and looked back at him.

"I didn't want you to see me like that." Sam said, "I couldn't let you see me like that; that's the lowest point of my life."

I nodded, "To sound redundant...you broke my heart." I frowned, leaving.

I walked back into the psych ward, I recalled my actions just before. I had glamoured my way past the guard as a doctor. I walked down the long hall, looking from door to door, I quickly found the girl and Martin.

"Martin!" I said.

"I got in." Martin said, "And you're not going to believe what she told me, go ahead."

I looked at her, "What is it?" I asked.

"There's another." Diva said.

"Another what?" I asked.

"Winchester." Diva said.

"Say what?" I asked.
