Peyton walked into the den and sat on the couch next to Jaiden, who was reading a medical journal. Jaiden put the journal down and pulled Peyton into his arms. He looked down at his husband and said, "you are so handsome; I could look at your face all day long." Then, he began softly stroking the side of Peyton's face and running his fingers through his hair. Peyton pulled Jaiden's head downward and softly kissed him; then, he smiled without saying a word.

Jaiden kept staring at Peyton, eventually pulling him onto his lap and resting his chin on the top of Peyton's head. Finally, he turned his head and laid his face on Peyton's hair, taking in the fragrance he has loved since day one.

"Peyton, watcha thinking, sweetheart?" "How much I love you, how much I have always loved you, and about the bright future we have together. I'm thinking about the amazing person you are and how much you've taught me since that mind-blowing day when we first met. I have never been as happy as I am with you by my side."

"It's the same for me. You have taught me more about dedication to family and purpose than anyone I have ever known. Growing up, I had a good life, a mom who ensured I got what I needed and gave me opportunities I might never have had otherwise. But, then, you walked into my life and made everything so much better, and every day that passes, my life gets richer because of you."

After Jaiden said that to Peyton, he leaned over, kissed Peyton on the cheek, and held him in a warm hug. Then, two hours later, they awoke and went to the bedroom to sleep until morning. When they awoke, they were still tangled in the same warm embrace they fell asleep in.

They got out of bed, showered together, and then got their sons up, took care of their morning routine, and took them to the breakfast room to eat banana pancakes. Additionally, each child got a small bowl of oatmeal with a touch of Hawaiian syrup stirred in.

After breakfast, the dads got their sons dressed for the day and put them back in their beds to finish their sleep before Ginny and Granny arrived.

"Jaiden, what would you like for me to fix for your breakfast?" "Peyton, do we have any ground macadamia nuts in the fridge?" "We do." "How about some of those sprinkled in the pancake batter and a couple of strips of turkey bacon. We should have some precooked bacon in the meat drawer in the fridge."

Peyton put a pot of coffee on to brew, added the nuts to the pancake batter, and got the bacon warmed in the microwave. When the coffee was ready, he cooked a few pancakes for his husband and himself, fixed two cups of coffee the way they liked it, sat next to each other, and had their morning meal. When Jaiden tasted the coffee, he asked, "Sweetie, you learned how to measure the coffee, didn't you?" "Why do you ask that, Jaiden?" "Because this coffee is every bit as good as any Dale has ever brewed." Then he leaned over and gently kissed Peyton.

"Jaiden, maybe I should fix breakfast for you more often." "Maybe! But perhaps I should prepare breakfast for you more often too." "I have a better idea, sweetheart: we need to fix breakfast together more often." "I'll agree with that, Peyton. That way, I get to stand next to you and smell your essence." "Before or after I shower in the morning?" "After. Sometimes we have nightly explosive tendencies that tend to linger a bit when we get up. I would rather smell that incredible smell of yours rather than the processed version of what we had for dinner the night before." Peyton started laughing because he fully understood where Jaiden was coming from.

They finished their breakfast, got the table and dishes washed off, and put the dishes into the dishwasher. After that, they started the dishwasher since it was full from dinner the night before. Then, since they were off for the day, when Granny and Ginny came in, they went back to bed and cuddled until they heard their sons awaken. They got out of bed, got their boys up, helped them take care of business, and then took them outside to play while they sat and held each other as they enjoyed another cup of coffee.

Jaiden watched Ginny and Granny as they were looking for something to do. Then, finally, he walked into the den and said, "Ginny, Peyton, and I have something we would appreciate you and Granny doing for us." "What is that, Jaiden?" "If the two of you would, could you pick up the remote and clean it and then cut the television on, sit on the couch, prop your feet up and enjoy your morning shows?"

"Jaiden, you're a mess, do you know that?" "Yes, mam, I do, but who trained me to be that way?" "All right, I plead guilty." Jaiden was laughing when he walked outside to sit with his lover as their children were having an incredible time playing with each other.

Usually, Alaina Noelle was bossing the boys around, but she tried to keep up with them this morning. Peyton and Jaiden were laughing at the antics of their sons and their nephews and niece. The morning was turning out to be a hilarious event for the dads. They didn't know when they had laughed so much at the children.

Ginny walked onto the deck and asked, "young men, what would the two of you like for lunch?" Peyton looked up and replied, "Ginny, that is the wrong question to ask us." `Peyton, what do you mean by that statement?" "Ginny, you should be asking, "Guys, where are you two taking Ezra, the Reverend, Granny, and me for lunch." "OK, son, tell me the answer to that." "Anywhere you four would love to have lunch."

"Peyton, I have noticed a restaurant that is intriguing to Granny and me." Which restaurant would that be, Ginny?" "The Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant." "Is that the one on Madison Avenue?" "It is." "What time would the four of you like to go?" "How about 12:30?" "Sounds good to me. Jaiden, how about you?" "Perfect time for me, and it is healthy food, but I promise you won't like the coffee." "Why not" "It is so super concentrated, so thick and strong, and served in a demitasse cup. You can stand a spoon up in it."

"Are you sure, Jaiden?" "Positive, I've tasted it before. One little cup and four glasses of water lasted me the whole meal. There used to be an Addis Ethiopian Restaurant back home, but after twenty or so years, the owners retired and closed shop. The food was over the top good."

They loaded the children into the van and met Ginny, Granny, and their husbands at the restaurant. The adults ordered a few different types of meat, a myriad of Ethiopian vegetables for them and the children. After the waitress took the order and went to turn it in to the kitchen, Ginny said, "We don't have any silverware. We need to get the waitress to bring us some."

Jaiden said, "Ginny, they don't have silverware. Everything will be served on communal plates, and they will give you a type of sponge bread. You tear off a piece of the bread and grab a bite of whatever you want to eat." Everybody does that." "Yes, mam. It's fun to do once you get into the meal. The children are going to love doing that. They may get food all over themselves, but they will love doing it."

The food arrived just as Jaiden said it would. When the adults tasted the roast of beef, they closed their eyes and were marveled at how good it was. Then, after they tasted the vegetables, they said they would have to eat at the Blue Nile more often.

The six adults finely-minced some of the meat and fed it to the children. Next, they got some small plates and put the children's vegetables on them and then tore each child several pieces of the sponge bread. When the children saw their dads eating with the bread, they grabbed theirs and dove into their food. The children were having such a good time and giggling throughout the meal that the adults got tickled.

Jaiden ordered coffee for the adults and milk for the babies. When the waiter poured the coffee for the adults, he held it high into the air and didn't spill a drop. When the coffee had been poured into the cups, the adults added sugar, as did Jaiden, who said, "Stevia just isn't strong enough to sweeten this coffee." Then, when Ginny took a sip of her drink, she started coughing and said, "dang, Jaiden, you were right; this is the most robust coffee I have ever tasted." "Told you; I like good coffee, but this coffee could use a quart of hot water to get it to where I'd like the taste to be."

"Granny said, "Amen to that! I hope we can sleep tonight after drinking this coffee." Her husband, Taylor, looked at her and said, "Geraldine, Sugar, I can help you get some sleep tonight!" "That's alright, Taylor, we're too old for that; I'll get to sleep just fine." "Well, y'all can't blame me for trying!" "Taylor, you ought to be ashamed talking like that in front of everybody; why you're a Reverend!" "Sweetheart, I'm also a man."

Jaiden and Peyton roared with laughter at the banter between the Reverend and Granny. Ginny blushed a red so bright it over-shadowed her dark brown skin. Gampy was doing his best to hide his laughter, but his effort was in vain. That's when the adults lost it, and they all started howling with laughter.

After everyone got home, got the children situated and down for their afternoon nap, Jaiden told Ginny and Granny to go home and spend some time with their husbands. He then handed each of the ladies fifty dollars and told them to go to a movie and relax for the evening. Finally, the babies having gone to sleep, Jaiden and Peyton went to sit on the deck and have a cup of regular coffee that they could enjoy.

"Peyton, can you believe what the Reverend said at the restaurant?" "I can, but I'd rather not. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would hear him say something like that." "Neither did I, but you have to admit, it was hilarious." "That it was, my love." The guys started laughing when Jaiden said that.

When Dale and Charley got home, Peyton told them about going to The Blue Nile for lunch and how much the children enjoyed the experience. Then Jaiden told them what the Reverend said to his wife, and Dale and Charlie were bending over they were laughing so hard. "Jaiden, you have got to be kidding us! The Reverend actually said that in front of everybody?" "He did, and Granny let him know she thought he was out of line. She didn't get mad or anything; she just let him know he shouldn't have said that."

"Guys, I thought of something today when I had a moment to myself: did anybody ask Leon if he had a driver's license?" Peyton said, "Uh oh! We didn't think of that. We'll have to ask him Friday night when he moves in. If he doesn't have a license, we'll have to take him to get a learner's permit on Saturday morning. Then we can debate who is going to help teach him to drive."

Charley replied, "We don't have to do that." "Why, Charley?" "Peyton, the Reverend, and Gampy can teach him here in the neighborhood while we are at work." Jaiden said, "Charley, that's why we love you; you always come up with the perfect solution to everything." "Yeah, what can I say; when you've got it, you've got it!" Peyton looked at Charley and said, "You're not smug at all, are you, Charley?" "Nope, just right." "Charley, I still say you're a nut!" "And I still say not a nut, just horny and right." Dale popped him good on the butt when he said that.

"Dang it, Dale, that hurt!" "Charley, want me to kiss it and make it all better?" Charley took off dragging Dale to the bedroom while yelling to Peyton and Jaiden that he and Dale would see them in a couple of hours."

"Jaiden, when we get the boys in bed tonight, do you want to kiss my butt and make it feel better?" Since Peyton was in a pair of shorts with an elastic waistband, Jaiden slipped his hand into the back of Peyton's pants, grabbed, and squeezed his fanny, and said, "what do you think, Babe?" "Ooo, I think we are going to have a romantic night!" "Count on it, Babe, count on it!"

The babies had been in bed asleep for an hour when Peyton said he was going to bed. Jaiden went to their bedroom a few minutes later and discovered Peyton had prepared himself and was lying on the bed dressed in Jaiden's favorite attire – NOTHING! Peyton said, "Babe, before you get undressed and excited, would you please take that box on the dresser to Dale and Charley. Tell them I wish them an exciting, robust, romantic evening."

"Dale, Charley, Peyton asked me to give you this box and tell you he wished you an exciting, robust, romantic evening." "What's in the box, Jaiden?" "Charley, I have no idea. I didn't look inside the box."

Jaiden was hurriedly stripping his clothes off as he headed back to Peyton's and his bedroom. When he got to the bedroom door, went inside the bedroom, and closed and locked the door, he was as naked as a newborn baby and as hard as the Rock of Gibraltar. Just as he got into bed, he and Peyton heard Charley yell thank you through the door. Peyton remarked that it looked like all four of them would have a good time getting tired enough to go to sleep – and that they did!

The following morning, when they all got out of bed to eat breakfast, they were in an excellent mood. Dale said, "it seems we had a great night. Y'all are happy, Charley and I are happy, and we got some rest to boot. Oh, by the way, thank you for the donuts, Peyton. They were delicious the way they were warmed up and eaten!" "They sure were, Charley. I'm glad you enjoyed the two I sent to y'all. Jaiden and I had six donuts last night. After we put them on the donut poles, we poured a little coffee on them and took our sweet time enjoying their essence with a little sweetheart cream."

"Tell me about it, Peyton." "Nope, Charley. I don't kiss and tell unless it gets you beyond horny at a time when you can't do anything about it." "Peyton, that was mean!" "Not really, Charley. What is genuinely mean is me telling you how much we enjoyed licking the sugar off each other's warm donut poles; how the warm donut poles twitched - and jumped at the attention we gave them." Peyton spoke softly and sensually into Charley's ear, saying, "Charley, think about how warm, erect, and tasty those soft, donut poles were - as we ran our tongues repeatedly up and down them licking off all the sugar. Imagine how good our warm, wet tongues felt on those donut poles! Mmmm, they tasted so good!"

Dale and Jaiden were about to die laughing as they watched Charley getting hornier by the second as large drops of sweat were forming on his forehead. Then, Dale added insult to injury when he walked behind Charley, leaned over, and stuck his tongue in Charley's ear in a way he knew would drive his lover wild. Then he whispered to Charley, "Babe, think about what I am going to do to you tonight to drive you into a wild frenzy. Think about that all day so you'll be hot and ready tonight!"

When Charley walked into the garage to get ready to go to work, Jaiden said, "Dale, did you do what I think you did to turn Charley on and make him walk on his tiptoes all day?" "Yeah, Jaiden, I did. Wasn't it fun to watch him squirm?" "Dale, that was mean; hilariously mean. Let's eat lunch together today so we can egg him on." "Deal, Jaiden; 12:30." "12:30 is good for Peyton and me. If we have a problem and must eat a little later than usual, I'll call and let you know."

As Dale walked out the door to the garage, he said, "damn, this is going to be a fun day!" Peyton looked at Jaiden as they took a sip of coffee, smiled, and didn't say a word.

Richard saw Charley that morning as he checked a joint joining a new wall to an old one. When Richard saw Jaiden, he asked what had happened that morning that would have Charley looking so anxious. Jaiden told him what Peyton, Dale, and he had done to Charley at Breakfast. Richard said he wished he had been at the house to see that as he turned and headed to the nurse's station.

When he got to the station desk, Sally asked Richard what had him so tickled. He took Sally into the doctor's lounge and told her what Jaiden, Peyton, and Dale had done to Charley at breakfast. You could hear Sally down the hospital corridor as she busted out laughing. When Sally went back to the desk, the nurses working with her asked what happened to make her laugh so robustly. Sally told them she couldn't tell them, but suffice it to say Jaiden, Peyton, and Dale got Charley good at breakfast.

All day, when Sally would see Charley walking past the nurse's station, she would say, "Hey, Charley, what's up?" Every time she asked the question, Charley's face would turn blood red as a grin crossed his face. When Jaiden stopped at the station, Sally told him what she was doing every time Charley walked by. Jaiden started laughing and told Sally that Charley might not be able to walk by the end of the day. Then he held up a blue ball he had in his pocket, and Sally lost it. As Jaiden walked past Richard in the hallway, he held up the blue ball and said, "Charley." Then he and Richard had a good laugh.

Jaiden had a few minutes to himself, so he called his mom's office. "Reynold's Family Practice, this is Ashley; how may I help you?" "Ms. Ashley, this is Dr. Jaiden Riley-Reynolds in Memphis, Tennessee. Is Dr. Peggy Reynolds available for a quick consult?" "Oh my, doctor, you sound so sultry and sexy. Let me see if Dr. Reynolds is available."

"Dr. Reynolds, you have a call on line three. It's a doctor asking for a telephone consult. He sounds incredibly sultry and sexy." Dr. Reynolds picked up line three and said, "good afternoon, son, what's up?" When she said that, Jaiden started laughing and said, "Charley, Mom; and I have been this way all day." When he told his mom what he, Peyton, and Dale had done to Charley at breakfast, and how he had been reacting all morning, she started laughing loudly enough that the ladies in the front office could hear her. She was still laughing when she walked up front.

"Dr. Reynolds, what was so funny?" She told the ladies, and they howled, especially Laurie, because she knew Charley well enough to know what the guys had done was driving him nuts.

That night, Dr. Mom `accidentally' called Charley and said," High, Charley, what's up," knowing full well what Sally had been doing all day. Charley asked her what she meant, and she said, Charley, ask Jaiden to show you what he has in his pocket. When Charley did that, Jaiden held up the blue ball he had been carrying around all day. Charley told Mom he had to run to the bathroom before he busted and then handed his phone to Jaiden to speak with his mom.

"Son, what did Charley do when you held up the blue ball?" "Mom, a tear rolled from his eye as he painfully tried to run to the bathroom before he peed himself." "Jaiden, it's funny and sad at the same time. He must be in a good deal of pain." "He is, Mom, but we couldn't resist ragging him all day." "Well, son, tell Charley I am sorry that I had to call and rag him a little bit. Tell him I love him dearly and will check on him later." "I will, Mom. Talk to you later. Love you." "I love you too, son."

A few minutes after Jaiden hung up from talking to his mom, he took Charley's phone upstairs to give it back to him. "Jaiden, would you please ask Dale to bring me an ice pack out of the freezer?" "Charley, is it that bad?" "Jaiden, this hurts worse than anything I can remember." "Would you like for me to check you down there and make sure you're OK?" "Jaiden, would you, please." "OK, drop your pants down enough for me to check your testicles." When Jaiden saw how swollen and blue Charley's scrotum and testicles were, he said, "Shit, Charley! I am so sorry. We didn't mean for you to hurt like this. I have some NSAIDs that will help get the swelling down and help with the pain. Let me get Dale to bring you the ice pack and meds."

Jaiden walked into the kitchen, got three NSAID pills and the ice pack, and handed them to Dale to take them to Charley. He told Dale and Peyton that he had seen blue balls in the hospital, but he had never seen a case as bad as Charley's, and that Charley was in horrible pain.

Dale took the medication and ice pack to Charley and laid on the bed with his husband. He went downstairs about 20 minutes later to tell Peyton and Jaiden that he was going to bed early to ensure Charley could get to sleep and rest once the medication took effect.

Jaiden walked upstairs with Dale to tell Charley that if the pain or swelling got worse to wake Peyton and him up, they would give Charley some different medication for the pain. Then, Dale walked to the door with Jaiden to thank him for helping his husband. As they stood in the doorway, Jaiden held his hand up, looked at it, and said, "Dale, there is only one thing that is going to help Charley, and you know what that is. It may take doing it twice to help him, just be very gentle; Charley is in a bad way.

The following morning, Charley and Dale were in the kitchen preparing breakfast when Peyton and Jaiden awoke. When they walked into the kitchen, Charley said, "Jaiden, thank you for the help last night; the medication helped tremendously. Dale looked at Jaiden and smiled. Jaiden knew what the smile meant and what had given Charley the relief he needed. Jaiden walked by Dale, squeezed his shoulder, and said, "good job, my brother."

The young doctors had the day off until the phone rang as Ginny and Granny walked in the door. "Dr. Peyton, this is Angie on the third floor. We have a couple of patients who are headed for a crisis, and their families specifically requested your and Dr. Jaiden's assistance." "We are on the way!"

"Jaiden, grab our smocks. There is a problem with two patients at the hospital, and their families requested you, and I handle the problems. We don't have time to change into work clothes; we'll just have to go with what we have on." Jaiden grabbed the smocks, and the two literally jumped from the kitchen to the garage floor, took one step, and were in their car. Peyton backed out of the garage, hit the emergency flashers, and sped to the hospital.

When they got to the third floor, the patients were fully involved, and emergency procedures had begun. The young doctors worked furiously for two hours before the situation started improving. Peyton sat with one patient, and Jaiden sat with the other for another two hours. Finally, the parents in each room told Peyton and Jaiden that it appeared that things were going to be OK and that they should go back home since they were supposed to have the day off. Jaiden was fairly blunt, as was Peyton, as they told the parents that there was no way they were going to leave the children's bedside until they were sure they were out of harm's way. Jaiden was holding his patient's hand as he sat by the child's bed. Peyton was doing the same. Richard got wind of what happened, and he and Sally joined Peyton and Jaiden at the hospital. Richard told the two they were going downstairs to get some lunch and relax for an hour, and he wasn't taking no for an answer.

Peyton resisted doing that until Sally gave him a wife's evil eye that told him he didn't want to mess with her. So, he and Jaiden went downstairs, got a healthy lunch, and rested in the doctor's lounge until they felt refreshed.

When they got back to the patient floor, Richard took one look at his brother and Jaiden and said, "I feel better about you two now. You look more relaxed and calm." Peyton said, "Dr., you are a sagacious man. Your prescribed treatment worked wonders." "Mom told you I was a good doctor, and I am!" "Which Mom, Richard?" "Who are the two Moms we listen to and don't argue with?" "Our Mom and Jaiden's Mom." "You are correct, and if you and Jaiden hadn't gone to eat some lunch and relax for a little while, I would have called both of them."

"Thank you, Richard; I love you so much!" "I love you more, Peyton." "I don't know if that is possible." "Peyton, after what you, Mom and Dad, and Jaiden did for Seth and me, it has to be." He and Peyton hugged each other, and Peyton thanked his brother for what he said.

Later that afternoon, after Peyton and Jaiden got home, Peyton's dad called him. "Peyton, Richard told me he put his foot in your and Jaiden's butt to make y'all get something to eat and to rest after you had a very stressful morning. Son, I'm glad your brother did that. But, you two need to learn that if you are too anxious, too uptight, and too worried about your patients, you might not be as good for them as you otherwise could be." "You are right, Dad. Richard and Sally did a fantastic job of pointing that out to us. We don't like leaving a patient who has had such a serious problem until we are sure they are out of the woods."

"Son, that is what makes Jaiden and you such good, young doctors. However, sometimes, when things become controlled, you have to take some time for yourselves to recover and refresh, so you don't burn out." "Dad, don't take what I am about to say the wrong way: You are totally right!" Peyton, did I hear you admit I was finally right about something?" "Yes, sir, you did."

"Well, hotdamn, that's the first time you have ever said that to me!" "Dad, I've said it before; you just didn't hear me." "Well, I heard you this time. Peyton, I am so proud of you. You have never been anything but a joy as a son. I called to make sure you were feeling as well as possible." "Thanks, Dad. Jaiden and I are about to head home to spend some time with the boys." "Tell Ginny to feed the boys some broccoli salad for me!" "Oh, hell no, Dad. We don't allow broccoli in the house anymore. That's not true, and you know it. We have several bottles of Beano on hand, and Granny and Ginny have a bottle in their homes."

"Peyton, hold on a minute; your Mom wants to talk to you." "High, son, I wanted to hear your voice so I'd know you are OK." "I am, Mom. We had two emergencies this morning, and it took us several hours to get them under control. Somehow, Richard and Sally found out about them and came to the hospital to help Jaiden and me. Mom, I am so glad they are part of our family; they are unbelievably good people, and we have felt so blessed having them here with us."

"Peyton, your dad and I feel the same way. Hashem worked everything out for us, and Seth being here has been good for your dad. He and Seth are buddies like you, and he used to be when you were at home. I watch your dad, and he acts like he is twenty years younger when he and Seth spend time together." Mom, it's the same way for Jaiden and me when we are with Richard and Sally. When you think about Charley, Dale, and their children, we have three new brothers, four nephews, and a niece. They make Jaiden and me feel so complete." "Peyton, that is how your dad and I feel about those babies. They are just as much our grandchildren to us as your sons are."

"I really have to reign you dad in to keep him from overbuying for the babies. But I can tell you this: I have the most fun watching your dad when he looks at things he thinks our Erie grandbabies would like and enjoy having." "Mom, I have always felt I was a disappointment to you and dad for my being gay, but our sons have helped me to see I have been wrong about that. Also, the babies have helped me to understand how much you and Dad love all of your children." "It makes me happy to know you finally understand that, Peyton. We have tried so hard to help you see that you are who Hashem made, and you are perfect just the way you are. We don't, and never have loved you any less because you are gay. As long as you are happy and settled, we feel blessed - we always have. Now go home, spend some time with your sons, and tell them Granny and Grampy love them." "I will, Mom. "

"May I ask you one question before we hang up?" "Peyton, you know you can." "Why does Dad want to be called Grampy instead of Grandpa?" "Son, your dad chose that name because he is sometimes grumpy, and he is a grandpa. So, he put the two terms together and came up with Grampy to mean a grumpy grandpa. He is so proud for his grandchildren to call him Grampy; he beams when they call him that." "I wondered, Mom. It's a funny story, but I'm glad the salutation is so endearing to Dad."

"Phyllis, I hate it that Peyton has felt we were disappointed in him because he is gay. I have never been disappointed in Peyton. He has done so many things that have made me incredibly proud of him. It hurts my heart to know he has felt that way." "Jim, I feel the same way for the same reasons. I wish you would write a note to your son telling him what you have told me."
