"Well, folks, we fly back to Memphis in the morning at 9:00. I got the flight rescheduled so the baby wouldn't have to get up so early and get his schedule interrupted. Mom Isenberg, would you like to fly with us and stay with Richard and Sally so you can help your daughter?"

"Jaiden, I appreciate the offer, but you don't need the added expense." "Mom Isenberg, the cost of the flight won't even be a quarter of the interest I get each month from our investments, so you are more than welcome. When Sally recovers sufficiently, and you are ready to fly home, we'll make sure you get there in comfort and style. Dad Isenberg is welcome to fly to Memphis with us too. We have an extra vehicle you both are welcome to use, and you can stay at our house since Sally and Richard's apartment is an efficiency apartment."

"Jaiden, thank you for the offer, but with four adults and ten children already in the house, are you sure you have room?" "Yes, mam, we do; we have nine bedrooms total with four downstairs where it is quiet."

"Adelle, you can stay at Sally's and Richards, and I can stay at Jaiden's. That way, you'll be there to help Sally if she needs it. Then, when y'all are ready for me to come over and bug you, you can call and let me know."

"Sam, why don't you just come over around nine in the morning after you get up and get something to eat?" "I can do that, darlin'." "Good, then it is settled; we'll get peace and quiet until our medicine kicks in so we can stand you when you get there." "I didn't think about that, Adelle; that idea works both ways." "Keep it up, you old buzzard, and one day, I'll spike your coffee."

"Damn, that sounds like heaven, Adelle; then, I won't have to see you clearly when I look at you in the morning." "All right, Sam; I warned you!"

Sam walked to Adelle, put his arms around her, and said, "You know, honey, you are still cute when you are ticked at me, and I love you more every day." "I know, Sam, and I love you too; otherwise, I would have killed you long ago."

The guys went outside to sit on the deck that evening, and Peyton asked, "Dad Isenberg, how long have you and Mom Isenberg been married?"

"Forty-five years, Peyton, and we've cut up as we did earlier for forty-five years. I am scared that Adelle will go before I do, and if that happens, I don't know if I can take that; I have loved that woman since the day I laid eyes on her. Damn, she was hot when she was young; still is for her age."

"You really love her, don't you, Dad Isenberg?" "More than anybody will ever know, Peyton."

"Her Daddy caught me at an inopportune time, and he gave me a choice of marrying her or going to jail; if I'd gone to jail, I'd be out of prison and off parole now."

Since the skeeters had come out and the females were biting the men relentlessly, they decided to retreat to the den, where the ladies were catching up on the day's gossip. Mom Riley asked, "Why did you boys come in so early?" "The women out on the deck were buzzing around and biting us, and we got tired of it, so we came inside."

"What women, Jim?" "The women from Sketerville, Phyllis. You know how miserable those old bats can make you." "They don't bother me, just you and the boys. We old bats stick together." "Tell me about it!"

Peyton, Jaiden, Charley, and Dale realized the boys weren't around and weren't making a sound, so Peyton asked where they were. His mom said they told her they were sleepy and going to bed, and then they went upstairs.

"By themselves, Mom?" "Yep, by themselves." "Oh, lord, I better go check on them."

A few minutes later, Peyton came back downstairs to the den and said, "I don't believe what I saw." His mother said, "And?" "They are all asleep on their cots – naked as jaybirds." Jaiden said, "You've got to be kidding me!"

"Nope, naked as jaybirds and sleeping soundly." "I wonder why they didn't put on their pajamas?" "That's my fault, Jaiden; I packed them this morning, forgetting they'd need them tonight."

The following morning, the dads got the children up, dressed, and fed them breakfast. Then they loaded the luggage into the van and got ready to head to the airport. Peyton's dad said he'd drive Richard, Sally, and her parents to the airport. Peyton told his dad that wouldn't be necessary, that Jaiden had made arrangements for them to be picked up and taken to the airport. At 7:30, a double-rear seated Rolls Royce pulled up to the house.

Richard looked at the limo and said, "Jaiden, you're crazy. We could have ridden in a regular cab." "You could have, but my nephew couldn't. He's about to take his first chartered jet ride, and he is going to get to the airport in style. I promise that when we get back to Memphis, he can ride in a nice Lincoln with the best car seat money can buy."

"Jaiden, on behalf of my wife and our son, I thank you." "You're welcome, brother-in-law. Y'all deserve the best of the best, and you know it."

"I don't know about me, Jaiden, but Sally and Seth sure do." "You deserve it too, Richard, and you know it because I told you so long ago." That comment got Jaiden and Peyton a hug from Richard and Sally. Sally may have let little Seth give them a hug, too, but he was busy filling a diaper."

Richard didn't say anything as he took Seth from Sally and went into the den to change his diaper. "Richard, I would have changed Seth's diaper." "I know, sweetheart, but I could do it and did it so you wouldn't have to. It isn't fair for you to have to change his diapers all the time. I'm half the reason our son is here, so don't you think I should have to share the dirty details?" "Now that you put it that way, sure. But whoever finds the dirty diaper first can change it." "Deal, babe!"

"Phyllis, I couldn't ask for a better son-in-law." "Adelle, I couldn't ask for a better blessing in a son either."

As the families got on the jet for the trip back to Memphis, Seth got on a plane headed back to Jacksonville and the University of Florida. But, of course, nobody saw Mom and Dad Riley get on a jet bound for Memphis; there was no way they would miss Monday's Bris Melah of their newest grandson.

"Folks, we have been cleared to land in Memphis; we should be on the ground taxiing to the terminal within twenty minutes. Please take your seat if you are walking about the cabin and fasten your seatbelts. Please remain seated until the plane has come to a complete stop at the terminal. As always, thank you for flying Anderson Charter Airways; we hope to see you again soon."

"Jaiden, are you thinking what I am thinking?" "What, Peyton, about renting a van to drive to Brevard for the graduation ceremony and then chartering a flight to Erie when we head home?" "Yeah, I like the lesser travel time, and the children slept all the way from Orange Beach to Memphis." "I was thinking the same thing. Traveling an hour and a half on a jet to get home versus traveling ten or more hours in a van is a no-brainer."

"Peyton, I've talked with Granny's sons, and they said they'd pick up their parents and Ginny and Gampy at the airport and take them to their new homes. Granny's daughter-in-law and son took care of having the new homes painted and furnished to suit Ginny and Granny; all they'll have to do is get their living room and bedroom furniture arranged once they get there." "Jaiden, I hope they like their homes being like the houses here." "So do I, love; we had everything designed to make their lives incredibly comfortable, and they are nearby ours, so we can look after them in case they get sick."

When the jet landed in Memphis, they got the children and their luggage loaded into their van to head home. Peyton pulled a Jenny on Richard and Sally: when they got to their car, Richard went into a near panic when he realized they didn't have a baby car seat for Seth.

Dale, Charley, Peyton, and Jaiden stood by their van laughing as they watched Richard dancing around, trying to figure out what to do to get Sally and Seth home – and not get a ticket for not having the baby in a car seat. Richard didn't want to read an article in the newspaper or online saying, "Pediatrician Gets Citation For Not Having His Child In A Car Seat."

Finally, Peyton walked to Richard's and Sally's car and said, "What's wrong, Richard? You seem upset about something?" "We don't have a car seat for Seth yet, and I wonder how we will get home without getting into trouble with the police, or worse yet, having an accident and risk Seth getting hurt!"

"Richard, walk to the van with me for a second." Charley picked up and handed Richard a large box when he and Peyton got to the van. "Richard, take this to your car; I think it will solve your and Sally's problem getting Seth home."

"Dale and I figured you didn't have a car seat, and we didn't see anyone give you one in Orange Beach. Everyone seemed to do something for Seth, Sally, and you, so Dale, the children, and I wanted to do something special for y'all. We ordered this gift for you as soon as Seth was born."

"Guys, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'll take it to the car and open it with Sally." "OK, Richard, we won't leave the parking lot until we're sure it fits your needs; we'll be right here."

Richard carried the box to his car, and when he and Sally opened it, Richard turned and looked at Dale, Charley, Peyton, and Jaiden with disbelief. Then, he walked back to the van, hugged Dale and Charley, and said, "Are you two serious, a Nuna EXEC All-In-One Caviar Car Seat? That thing costs a fortune; I thought maybe a seat more in line with what's sold at Walmart, but I never thought of something that nice."

Charley said, "Richard, we may not be blood-related, but we are family, and our nephew will have the best we can get for him. The car seat should last him until he gets big enough that he doesn't need one."

Tears rolled across Richard's cheeks as he hugged and held Charley and Dale. Then, finally, Dale said, "Richard, can you get the seat in the car OK? Charley and I know two pretty good engineers who should be able to get it installed just right if you need them to help." "Thanks, Dale, but I think Sally and I can get it in the car OK. By the time I get back to the car, she'll probably have it installed and have Seth sitting in it."

Dale and Charley walked to Richard's car, and, sure enough, Sally had the car seat installed and had Seth seated comfortably – asleep - in the car. She got out of the car, tears crossing her face, and thanked and hugged Dale and Charley. "Dale, Charley, this is so nice; you shouldn't have!" Charley replied – as Dale smiled – "the heck you say, our nephew is going to have the best of everything if we have anything to do with what he gets."

On their way home, Sally looked at Richard and said, "Sweetheart, as your mom says, talk to me."

"Sally, the past few years have been surreal to me. First, you came into my life and gave me a purpose I never had before; secondly, I have a family because THEY chose to be my family; they didn't have to do that, but they did. And then...then you gave me the most precious gift ever..."

"Richard, you are a fabulous man, an incredible husband, and a brother like no other; don't you think you deserve what you now have in your life?" "Sally, I don't know if I deserve it, but believe me, sweetheart, I truly appreciate everything Hashem has gifted to me."

"Honey, if you didn't deserve it, I don't think Hashem would have given it to you. I think you've earned everything you have because of the man you were and are. And you know what, I am the one who is incredibly blessed by having you in my life." Richard smiled for the first time since he and his small family left the airport.

When Richard and Sally got home, their phone rang, and it was Ginny calling to tell them she had lunch prepared for everybody and to come on over. Everybody was well, so Sally packed a diaper bag, and they headed for Peyton's home. The house would get exciting when Sally, Richard, and Seth got there because the guys hadn't told Ginny and Granny the baby had arrived.

The trio got to the Riley-Reynolds-Leonard-Anderson home. Nathan Robert said, "Daddy, Uka Ric an An Sally here wif Sef." "Peyton, I didn't know Seth was coming with Richard and Sally; is he doing well in school?" "In a manner of speaking, Ginny, he is doing well, but he isn't ready to start school yet." That comment drew a curious stare from Ginny and Granny.

Their wonderment was answered when Sally entered the house holding little Seth. Granny and Ginny went nuts, and the partying began.

The partying began with an enormous, delicious mean of roast beef, mashed potatoes, roasted new potatoes, and grilled asparagus, ala' Jaiden style – grilled! Granny had sliced some of the beef roast and chopped it in the blender so the children could enjoy it. Their asparagus was cut into small pieces, and their potatoes had been mashed.

Granny asked Sally if she or Ginny could prepare some formula for Seth, and Sally told them she had the food supply under control. Then Sally threw a towel over her shoulder and proceeded to breastfeed Seth.

Granny said, "You go, girl, that baby will be a lot healthier with you loving on him that way. I sure am proud to see you decided to feed your baby the way God intended for it to be done." Ginny spoke up and said she, too, was incredibly proud of Sally.

The dads thought the children would want to play after eating lunch, but they went to the bathroom and took care of business. Then, when their dads got them cleaned, they climbed into their beds and took a long nap.

The adults were sitting in the den talking and drinking coffee when Richard said, "I need to run to the children's furniture store to get a few things; would you like to go with me, Peyton?" "Sure, but what do you need from the furniture store?"

"Sally has some baby furniture in mind that she chose for Seth, and I thought I'd go pay for it and have it set up for delivery." "Do you have anything set up for Seth to sleep in tonight?" "Not yet, Peyton; I was going to get a bassinet and set it up when we got home."

Dale said, "we have Alaina's bassinet upstairs, and everything is cleaned and sanitized; you're welcome to use it if you like. Peyton spoke up and said, "Sally, what if we put the bassinet in the large bedroom downstairs. You and Richard can stay in that bedroom until you get things set up for Seth at your apartment or until you recover enough to feel like doing something. Your mom and dad can stay in one of the bedrooms so your mom can help you. The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet."

Ginny said, "Sally, take the offer, Granny, and I can do the cooking, so you and Richard will eat right, and your mom can focus on you and Seth instead of housework and cooking."

"Ginny, I don't want to be a burden on you and Granny." "Baby, you won't be a burden to Granny and me; we've already talked about what we wanted to do. If you stay here, we also get to spend time with our new grandson."

"Ginny, you, and Granny are going to help his uncles spoil Seth rotten, aren't you?" Ginny didn't say a word as she turned her head toward Sally and cut a sly smile." Richard, he started laughing. He was proud that so many people were loving Seth, Sally, and him because they wanted to – not because they had to or were expected to.

"Charley, don't forget, Sally and her mom are downstairs!" "Oh crap, I forgot; sorry." "By the way, you may want to stop hanging a brick from that thing before it starts dragging the ground; if it gets any longer, you can tie it in a knot, or you can tie it in a bow, and then you can throw it o'er your shoulder like a continental soldier!"

"Where did that come from, Jaiden?" "I was over at Greg's house one day, and he was griping about how his baby breastfeeding had sucked all the beauty out of his wife's perky breasts. She heard him and then walked through the living room singing, "Do your boobs hang low, do they wobble to and fro; can you tie `em in a knot, can you tie `em in a bow; can you throw `em o'er you shoulder like a continental soldier, do your boobs...hang...low. In your case, Charley, you can change the word boobs to your hose pipe."

"Jaiden, do you wonder how it got this long?" "The thought did cross my mind, Charley." "Well, I was making love to Dale, and I got stuck. We tried everything to get me unstuck since we didn't want to go to an emergency room on an ambulance gurney to get help. I finally was able to work my feet in between Dale and me, and when I gave a hard push, I came out of Dale with a loud pop like a cork coming out of a full champaign bottle."

"I bet that hurt." "Yeah, it did, Jaiden. But you know, it made it so long that I can get a little booty and a blow job at the same time." "TMI, Charley!" "You started it, Jaiden. Of course, you know my dick is no longer than yours, but thanks for the compliment."

"Charley, you're crazy." "Nah, not crazy, un-shy, and brutally honest." "I'll agree with that. And I'll admit that's part of what makes you so much fun to be around – and to love."

"Aw...Jaiden, you love me!" "Platonically, Charley, platonically."

The next morning Charley, Dale, Peyton, and Jaiden rode to work together after eating breakfast. Dale kept a frown on his face and rubbed his throat as the guys drove toward the hospital. Jaiden made the mistake of asking, "Dale, you don't seem like you feel too well; are you OK?" "Not really, Jaiden. Charley made love to me last night, and my throat was sore after he climaxed and laid over on the bed."

Jaiden exclaimed, "Damn, I just knew that comment I made last night would come back and bite me in the ass!" Peyton asked, "what comment, Jaiden?" When Charley explained to Peyton what Jaiden had said the night before, everybody in the car erupted with laughter.

"Jaiden, you reckon if I get stuck while making love to you and get myself loose the way Charley did from Dale, I might be able to scratch your throat the next time we make love?"

"Damn, this is going to go on all day, isn't it." Peyton replied, "Oh, I don't know about all day, maybe at opportune times, but not all day." Without saying a word, Jaiden thought it would be a very long day for him – and it was.

Every time Peyton walked past Jaiden, especially at the nurse's stations, Peyton frowned and rubbed his neck, and Jaiden turned several shades of red. Finally, one of the nurses asked Peyton if he was OK and why Jaiden turned red every time Peyton walked past him.

Peyton explained to the nurse, as politely as he could, that it was a private joke involving Dale and Charley, whom all the nurses also knew. Then, the nurse started laughing and said, "watch Dr. Jaiden the next time he walks by."

When Peyton noticed Jaiden walk by the nurse's station and abruptly stop, throw a notepad in the air, and rest his head in his hands, he knew Jaiden had been had by the nurse. A few minutes later, Peyton heard over the intercom system, "Dr. Peyton, please go to 3 main...Dr. Peyton, please go to three main."

When Peyton got to the nurse's station, Jaiden was standing there with fury in his eyes, or so Peyton thought. Jaiden pointed his finger at Peyton like he was about to give his husband pure hell, and before he could get his first word out, he burst out laughing. "Dang, you, Jaiden, I thought I was about to get my butt crawled!"

Every nurse at the station was laughing with Jaiden, and this time, it was Peyton who turned several shades of red. "Peyton, can we call a truce on this?" "I guess so, Dr. Jaiden; I really don't have a choice, do I?" "Nope, not unless you want to keep swapping pranks all day." "Truce!"

At lunch, Jaiden and Peyton were joined in the hospital cafeteria by Dale and Charley. Jaiden asked, "Dale, is your throat OK now?" "It is, Jaiden; Charley gave me some cream to swallow, which helped tremendously." Jaiden had been gotten again and called for a four-way truce which caused extreme laughter at their table.

When the guys got home later in the evening, Granny and Ginny had dinner ready. It appeared to be quite a spread: German Rouladen and gravy, fresh, homemade creamed potatoes, broiled asparagus, baby English peas, a salad with Ranch dressing for everybody, and a congealed gelatin salad. The dads were concerned about whether or not the children would eat the Rouladen and expressed their concern to Ginny and Granny.

"Young men, just watch your children when I give them the Rouladen chopped up."

"Ginny, are Gampy and the Reverend coming over for dinner?" "We thought we'd cook something for them when we got home." "It looks like there is enough food for them and ten more people. Would there be enough if they came over for dinner?" "Yes, but we wouldn't have much to put in the freezer for later, Jaiden."

"We can always prepare more later on; please call them and tell them to come over for dinner; I don't like the idea of you two being here all day, preparing dinner for everybody, and then going home and cooking again." "Are you sure, Jaiden?" "Positive, Ginny."

Granny called Taylor and Ginny called Ezra, and they were at the house for dinner a few minutes later. Everybody had a good time at dinner, talking about the past week's activities, doting on little Seth, praising Sally for her stamina, and Richard for his patience.

Richard said, "Ginny, Granny, if I have patience as you have said, it is because of the amazing brother and brother-in-law I have; they have gone out of their way to make everything easy for Sally and me, and I am incredibly grateful for that."

"Richard, what was it like to be in Orange Beach and be surprised by your son's birth?" "Granny, it was surreal. We had no idea Sally was in labor when we got to Alabama - until Mom freaked out and had Dad call a doctor friend from their synagogue. He came to the house, examined Sally, and immediately called an ambulance. Then, about a half-hour later, Seth was here." "That fast, son?" "Yes, mam, Granny."

"And then big Seth walked into the hospital room about two hours later and surprised us. You might say the day was magical. Everybody cried and then partied at dinner that night. They brought dinner back to Sally and me at the hospital. We hated not getting to eat with everybody at the seafood restaurant, but what they brought us was so good."

"When they went home, I lay next to Sally, and we fell asleep until the nurse came in and told me to get off the bed. I tried to pull rank on her, and she let me know real quick that I wasn't a doctor there, and that she was in charge."

"What did you say to her, Richard?" "Ginny, I said yes, mam, and got off the bed." "You're an intelligent young man, Richard; she would have probably eaten you alive if you hadn't done what she said." "There's no doubt about that, Ginny; she always had Sally's comfort and well-being in mind."

"I'm just a man with a beautiful wife I love more than anything in the world, who now has a perfect son, and you know how we men are." "That I do, son, but at least you're a good man." Sally said, "Amen to that! They don't come any better."

Peyton cleared his throat, and Sally said, "Well, maybe except for Jaiden." Peyton cleared his throat again, and Sally added, "...and Peyton, Dale, and Charley." Peyton smiled and gave Sally a kiss on the cheek. That's the point at which Seth started whimpering.

Jaiden got up, got a diaper, and gave it to Richard. "Why are you giving me a diaper, Jaiden?" "I know that cry, and Sally needs her beauty rest, so get your butt up and change your son's diaper." "Jaiden, you're his uncle; you can change his diaper as easily as I can!" "Richard, if you don't want to change that diaper, give me the clean one, and I'll do it for you."

"Everybody started laughing when they heard Jaiden gagging. Richard smiled, looked up, and said, "I know that cry, too!" That comment threw everybody into hysterics, especially Sally's parents, who both said, "Richard, you learn quickly, son." "Mom, Dad, I do, and getting Jaiden to change that dirty diaper is priceless! I love it."

Jaiden walked back into the den and commented, "Richard, you knew, didn't you? You set me up, didn't you? You knew I was going to gag, didn't you?" "Jaiden, I plead the Fifth; I ain't saying nothing!"

A few minutes later, Jaiden heard a noise coming from his boy's room upstairs. "What the heck is that? Richard, you might as well get used to getting up to check on your son, so come with me and get some practice."

When they got upstairs, and into the boy's room, three boys weren't in bed. Jaiden knew where they were, but Richard didn't, so he looked at Richard and asked him to see if the boys were in the bathroom.

When Richard walked into the shower room, the boys were sitting on the toilet – as Jaiden walked in behind Richard, closed, and locked the door, and tossed Richard a roll of toilet paper. "Brother-in-law, there is no way to be better prepared when the time comes than to have experience for the task!"

"Damn you, Jaiden, you knew, didn't you?" "I plead the Fifth, Richard; I ain't saying nothin'." Richard helped Jaiden clean the children and get them into bed before returning to the den. When he got there, Sally and Peyton were smiling from ear to ear.

Sally looked at Richard and asked, "Honey, did you learn anything?" "I did, sweetheart; don't set Jaiden up, lest he gets you back."

Again, everybody was rolling on the floor, laughing at Richard's response. He had indeed learned a lesson – it wasn't as bad a task as he thought it would be, and it made him feel closer to his nephews, something he didn't believe was possible.

"Y'all know, that usually isn't a pleasant experience – wiping someone's fanny, but I must admit, it helped me realize just a little more how much some people rely on us – especially children. So, Jaiden, thank you for helping me to learn that."
