"Peyton, Jaiden, Charley has been in a pranking mood today. Every time I've turned around, he's done something to surprise me and make me jump."

"Dale, where is Charley now?" "He's taking a nap." "Can you get in your bedroom without waking him up?" "Sure, why?"

"Let's go in the kitchen for a minute." Jaiden and Dale walked into the kitchen, where Jaiden got a bottle out of the cupboard and filled it with warm water. "Dale, take this in the bedroom and very slowly drip it on the cover over Charley's feet, but make sure to do it slowly." "Why? What's that gonna do to him?" "It will cause a bodily response, and he'll piss all over himself and the bed. I assume y'all still have a waterproof mattress pad on the bed." "We do, so if he does piss on the bed, it won't hurt it." "Good! Don't say anything if he does wet the bed; just let him take care of the situation."

Dale took the warm water, went into his bedroom, and slowly poured it over the cover on Charley's feet. He watched as Charley seemed to relax more than usual – and as a wet spot started spreading around Charley's midsection. After noticing that happening, Dale quietly walked out of the bedroom, closed the door, and put the empty bottle in the kitchen. Then, he went into the den, sat on the couch, smiled, and gave a thumbs-up to Peyton and Jaiden.

Fifteen minutes later, Charley walked through the den wearing clean briefs and a tee shirt as he headed toward the laundry - with an armload of sheets and the mattress pad.

"Charley, why'd you decide to wash the sheets?" "Babe, I woke up, and the sheets were wet. I've never wet the bed in my life, but I think I did at some point during my nap. So all I know is I woke up in a puddle of water on the bed, and it smelled like pee."

"Charley, I wonder what caused you to do that?" "I don't know, but it was strange to me that my feet were wet too." "That is strange."

When Charley walked back to the bedroom to finish getting dressed, Dale, Jaiden, and Peyton almost lost it. "Dale, I told you it would work!" "Like a dream, Jaiden, pun intended. When Charley figures out what happened to make him wet the bed, my ass is going to be grass." "Maybe so, Dale, but all you have to do is ask him if he wants to spend another day pranking you, and then tell him you have more tricks up your sleeve. He won't know if you do or don't, but it will make him think."

"Jaiden, you are so devious in a fun way when you want to be." "Yeah, depending on the situation, it makes life a whole lot more fun. And the fact that Charley wetting the bed will make Charley wrack his brain trying to figure out why...let' say that will be icing on the cake."

Charley was straining his brain to figure out why he'd wet the bed when Charles Logan walked into the bedroom. "Hey, Daddy, you upset?" "Yep, Chuck, Daddy had an accident in the bed while he was taking a nap." "Wha happent, Daddy?" "Daddy accidentally wet the bed, but he didn't mean to."

"Daddy, Daddy Dale, I saw him go and pour water on you foots." "You did?" "Uh-huh, I did." "What did Daddy do after he did that."

"He sat wif Unka Jaiden and Unka Peyton on da cowitch." "OK, buddy, thank you for letting Daddy know." "OK, Daddy."

"Hmm, so Dale did the warm-water trick. He's so gonna get it for doing that."

Charley walked to the kitchen and pretended to be checking the laundry he placed in the washer. He noticed the empty bottle in the dish drainer and instantly reached for it, filled it with cold water, and stuck it in the freezer.

Then Charley walked into the den and sat next to his husband. He didn't say anything about what Charles Logan told him; he simply pretended to be upset about wetting the bed and began questioning Dale, Peyton, and Jaiden why he would have done that. Finally, Jaiden suggested Charley had been sleeping very soundly, and Peyton agreed. Dale had no idea – or so he wanted Charley to think, not knowing Charley knew what he had done.

Peyton and Jaiden had gone to their bedroom, and Dale was outside - standing on the deck looking at the stars. Charley looked at Dale and raised his eyebrows recognizing the perfect opportunity to get back at Dale.

Charley walked into the kitchen, got the bottle of frozen slush out of the freezer, and placed it in the small of his back. Then he walked outside, put his arms around Dale, and started kissing his neck and those unique spots that would send his husband into a sexual frenzy. Dale reached up and put his hands around Charley's neck, lacing his fingers together.

As he did that, Charley unbuckled Dale's belt and stuck his hand inside Dale's pants, cupping his balls and his johnson. Dale began cooing at the erotic feelings Charley was helping him to feel. Then, Charley reached around himself, got the freezing water, and dumped it in the front of Dale's pants.

Suddenly, Dale let out a blood-curdling shout that could be heard five city blocks from their home. Jaiden and Peyton ran and looked out their bedroom window to see Dale contorting his body into shapes they had no idea he could achieve.

"Peyton, reckon what Charley did to Dale to make him yelp like that?" "I have no idea, babe, but it had to be good. I'm sure we'll find out in the morning – if not before." Peyton and Jaiden laughed as they witnessed Dale jump out of his pants and briefs to escape whatever Charley had done to him.

A few minutes later, Dale knocked on their bedroom door and entered their room when they told him to. "Guys, somehow, Charley figured out what I did." "What'd he do to you, Dale?" "He had put that bottle full of water into the freezer, and when I went outside on the deck, he got the almost frozen water and hid it in the small of his back. Then he started kissing all the right spots on my neck, and when I laid my head back on his shoulder, he got the bottle and poured the freezing water on my crotch. I really have to pee, but I can't because I can't find my johnson; the cold water made it retreat to somewhere inside my body!"

Peyton and Jaiden just about died laughing and said that Charley must have called and talked to Jenny to come up with a plan to do what he did. Dale told the two that he had learned his lesson and wouldn't cause Charley to wet the bed again. "If you two will now excuse me, Charley is waiting on me to get the blanket, the mattress pad, and the sheets out of the dryer and make up the bed."

When Dale walked out of their bedroom, Jaiden and Peyton died laughing. While Charley had pranked Dale good, Charley's revenge on Dale was way funnier.

The following morning when they got up and went to eat breakfast, Charley was sitting at the dining table, and Dale was waiting on him hand and foot. Peyton said, "good morning, Charley, Dale." Charley replied, "Yeah, it is for me; a good night's sleep and then being served this amazing breakfast of macadamia nut waffles and coffee – it just doesn't get any better." Jaiden looked at Peyton and winked; there wasn't a chance they would tell Charley that what Dale had done to him was Jaiden's idea.

When Peyton and his husband got in their car to drive to the hospital, Jaiden looked at Peyton and said, "dang, babe, please stop farting!" "Jaiden, I was about to say the same thing to you; I haven't farted." When they got to the hospital, Peyton followed his nose, looked under his car seat, and found a lid of wet sulfur. Charley knew, and they had paid the price of misdeeds while on their way to work.

"Jaiden, do you think you should apologize to Charley for giving Dale the warm water idea?" "Love, if I don't, we probably won't hear the end of things, and Charley will do more to get back at me."

At lunch, Dale and Charley met Jaiden and Peyton in the doctor's lounge in the cafeteria. Charley smirked and asked, "did you two have a good ride to work?" "We did, Charley, but I had to tell Peyton to stop farting in the car. I learned he hadn't farted and thought I had. So, he followed his nose and found the cause of the smell. I'm sorry, I won't give Dale any more ideas to get you back for pranking him...all day!"

"Good, I could smell myself all night after wetting the bed." Dale said, "and that damned water last night was freezing; I still had problems finding Johnson Junior this morning so I could pee." Jaiden said, "So, we all call a truce?" Dale said, "Damned straight, we do!"

Shortly after the truce was called, Richard and Sally walked in with Seth. "What're you guys doing here with the baby?" "We're going to get the PKU test done here, and Arnie will examine Seth and make sure everything is OK."

"He said he wanted to be Seth's pediatrician until we returned to Erie. So besides you two, I can't think of anybody better for the job." Peyton told Richard they agreed.

Arnie examined Seth, looked at Sally and Richard, and asked, "what have you two been feeding this boy?" Sally said, "just breast milk, Arnie; why?" "Guys, Seth is only a week old, and he has gained almost two pounds; you must have some really good momma's milk!"

Richard said, "Probably so, Arnie; Seth loves to eat, and he knows a good thing when he tastes it." That earned Richard a look of contempt from Sally. "I'm sorry, babe. You've simply done an incredible job taking care of Seth." "Nice save, Richard!" Richard and Sally smiled at each other after her comeback.

Richard and Sally took Seth upstairs to the third-floor nurse's station so the nurses could meet Seth. If the nurses' reaction to meeting Seth was indicative of things to come, they would be doing their best to spoil him rotten.

When Richard and Sally got back to Peyton's, Ginny and Granny took Seth. They told Sally she needed to take a nap and let her body relax, and Sally had no intention of arguing with them.

Sally's mom then took Seth and rocked him for the longest in the den, soft music playing in the background." Ginny and Granny loved seeing Seth's Bubbee giving him so much love.

Sam was sitting on the deck, being quiet so Seth could sleep peacefully. Ginny walked outside, handed him a cup of coffee, and sat for a minute of conversation since the boys and Alaina Noelle were taking their afternoon nap. "Sam, what do you think of that sweet grandson of yours?"

"Martha, I think he is amazing. He has kept Adelle from griping at me since we got here from Alabama; I didn't think anything could accomplish that feat! Damn, it's nice."

"Sam, you ought to be ashamed for saying that." "I know, Martha, but the truth is the truth. But, even so, it doesn't change how much I love that old gal. An old coot like me is blessed to have a wife like her."

"I'm glad to hear you say that, Sam; Adelle's a wonderful mom and grandmother." "That she is – always has been, Martha. I am blessed to have her in my life. I fell head-over-heels in love with Adelle the first time I saw her, and that love has only grown." "I know what you mean, Sam; it's the same with Ezra and me."

"The only thing I wish was different would be to have had a couple of children, but it never happened." "You know, Martha, it isn't too late; Abraham was a hundred years old, and Sarah was nighty when they had Ishmael!"

"Sam, perish that thought, God gave me Jaiden to raise, and then He brought Peyton and the boys into my life. That has more than kept me busy. I love them just like they were mine; in a sense, they are."

"Funny you should say that Martha, Phyllis, and Jim told me the same thing; they think you walk on water." "Sam, I don't know about walking on water, but I certainly feel God has let me walk on clouds with Jaiden, Peyton, and their children."

"Do you think Granny feels that way about Dale's and Charley's children?" "No doubt in my mind, Sam. She has children and grandchildren, but to watch her with Charley, Dale, and their babies, they're hers too." "That's what I have thought and feel, Martha."

Ginny glanced inside and told Sam that the babies were starting to wake up and that she had to go inside and get their snacks ready. Sam looked at her and said, "Do you mind if I help and get them in their highchairs?" "Not at all, but you don't have to do that."

"I want to, Martha; I have fallen in love with the children. I know they aren't my grandchildren, but I sure feel like they are. They are such good children." "That they are, Sam; they have good parents – and great uncles and an awesome auntie."

"The four amigos were having lunch in the doctor's lounge when Richard walked in wearing his work smock. "Richard, what are you doing here; you have another week off?" "My mother-in-law is at the house, and I ain't saying no more!" "We understand, bro."

"Actually, guys, I missed work, and Sally is getting the best care possible. If her mother gets too pushy, Sam will take her somewhere to give Sally a rest. Granny and Ginny are also doing an excellent job making Sally get the rest she needs, so I feel comfortable being here.

"Dale, you have a blue tinge to your skin; are you OK? Is something bothering you? I'd swear you've been submerged in cold water from your looks."

"Richard, what are you getting at?" "Nothing, Dale; you just look a bit blue around the gills – or is that gonads?" "Damn, tell me y'all didn't tell Richard."

Jaiden said he hadn't said a word to Richard; Peyton swore himself to silence – because he is guilty as hell; Charley swore to Dale that he hadn't said anything and didn't mention what `anything' meant.

"Peyton, that leaves you; you've not denied a thing in this conversation."

"Dale, I swear, I didn't inform Richard that you had poured warm water on Charley's feet while he was asleep, causing him to wet the bed; and I sure as heck didn't tell Richard that Charley unbuckled your pants at the French doors, pulled your pants out and poured slushy, freezing water into your briefs causing you to have artificial blue balls.

Arnie and some other doctors were sitting next to Peyton and Jaiden's table, listening to the conversation. When Peyton gave an account of what Dale and Charley had done to each other, the doctors howled with laughter. Charley turned white with embarrassment, and Dale blushed so hard he went from red to purple.

That night at dinner, Sally's mom had prepared a typical Jewish dinner for the Rabbi and Rebbitzen to eat after Seth's Bris Milah. Naturally, they would have kosher wine, which Jaiden and Peyton and the brothers would decline since they won't drink anything with alcohol in it.

Everybody gathered in the formal sitting room and was about to take their seats when the doorbell rang. Jaiden answered the door, and it was Peyton's parents. "Peyton, you need to be on your best behavior!" "Why, Jaiden?" Mom Riley spoke up and said, "because your Dad and I said so!"

"Mom, Dad, when did you get here?" "Oh, our plane landed about thirty minutes after yours did." "Why didn't you and Mom fly up with us?" "Because the plane was full, we checked the seating plan and didn't want to cause an overload on the jet our new grandson was on. We also heard they'd only be serving ice water on the flight." Dale shot an obvious glance of disapproval at Peyton.

Once again, everyone was about to be seated to begin the Bris Milah when the doorbell started ringing incessantly. Obviously, Richard was irritated at the doorbell, so he answered the door.

Richard quickly opened the front door, and there big Seth stood, tears streaming down his face. When Richard saw his little brother, he lost it as he embraced big Seth in a tight bear hug. After a few minutes of holding each other, they walked to the seat of honor where their Dad and Sally's dad was seated to hold little Seth during the ceremony.

Inexplicably, Jim Riley and Sam Isenberg rose from their seats and had big Seth sit in their place. After he sat in the chair, Seth's dad placed a pillow on big Seth's lap. Sam Isenberg put a golden-threaded, hand-knitted blanket on top of the pillow.

That's when Sally, with tears in her eyes, walked to big Seth and put little Seth on the blanket. It was the first time big Seth had actually gotten to hold his nephew. Everybody was in tears, even the Rabbi and Rebbetzin.

The ceremony began with the Kibbudim. The greatest of the Kibbudim was the Sandek, where little Seth was placed on the blanket and shawl on big Seth's lap. The Sandek is the equivalent of building a mizbayach – and alter – in the Beis HaMikdash, or holy place – the temple and offering the korbanos, or sacrifices of the world to honor Hashem and His word.

The milah is akin to the korban. The Sandek (big Seth) is the equivalent of a mizbayach – the alter holding little Seth as he prepares to give his `sacrifice' to enter the Jewish covenant with Hashem. Holding little Seth helps the Rabbi perform the bris, so, in essence, big Seth performed a mitzvah, or great service, to his nephew. Richard recited the shehecheyanu after Rabbi Kravitz performed the Bris Milah. Richard poured the wine and then said the blessing over the wine: Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who sanctified the beloved one from the womb, set His statute in his flesh, and sealed his descendants with the sign of the holy Covenant. Therefore, as a reward of this [circumcision], the living God, our Portion, our Rock, has ordained that the beloved of our flesh be saved from the abyss, for the sake of the Covenant which He has set in our flesh. Blessed are You, Lord, who makes the Covenant."

The mohel (Rabbi) then put two drops of wine in little Seth's mouth, and Richard drank the wine from the cup. Next, several blessings were said for and over little Seth, after which everyone sat down to eat a feast prepared for the occasion.

Big Seth sat in the couch corner and watched everyone celebrating the evening. Sally glanced over at him, and the look on his face was pitiful to her; he looked lost. She went and sat by Seth, and as his mother would do, she said, "Seth, talk to me; what's on your mind."

"Sally, I have to fly back to school tomorrow, and I don't want to; I don't want to leave Seth, you, or Richard. I don't want to miss anything while Seth is growing up, and I don't want to miss seeing Richard finally being happy; we've both been through so much."

"I know, sweetheart, but I promise Richard and I will make videos of Seth, so you don't have to miss anything. We'll send you a video every week so you can see everything we see." "Really, Sally?" "Really, sweetheart, I promise."

Seth cheered up a little bit as Sally placed Seth in his arms and walked into the kitchen to get her a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. She stood in the kitchen and watched Seth holding his nephew out of the corner of her eye.

Unfortunately, she had to walk into the garage when she saw big Seth put his nephew on his shoulder and lose it. If anything would get to Sally, that was it. Richard walked into the garage to make sure Sally was OK, and when she told him what had gotten to her, he sat on the steps and lost it.

They walked back inside when they composed themselves and saw Richard's mom comforting big Seth as he held his nephew. Seth's face was blood red, indicating he had been crying hard, but at least little Seth was calm and sleeping.

Seth looked up at Richard and said he needed to change his nephew's diaper. Richard started to get his son when Seth said, "no, I heard you said whoever was holding Seth when he messed up his diaper was the one who got to change it. So, I'm going to change his diaper. You can watch to make sure I do it correctly, but I'm going to do it."

Richard took Seth, and little Seth, to the bedroom downstairs, and his brother changed his nephew's diaper like a champ. Richard gagged a little, but Seth didn't; he indeed was a champ.

Seth put his nephew in the bassinet, went back to the den, and got himself a cup of coffee and a peach knish Dale had just taken out of the oven. Peyton then took Seth into the dining room so the two could talk.

"Seth, I am so proud of you for your mitzvah during the bris. When you walked in the door, I almost lost it because we all wanted you to be here so badly, to see you, and when you showed up...damn, I said I wasn't going to cry."

Jaiden walked into the dining room and asked, "Are you two OK?" "Seth said they were, but he was having a hard time leaving to go back to Jacksonville in the morning. Jaiden said he understood, but that anytime he (Seth) was on break to let him know, and he'd get him a ticket to fly to Erie when they got home. Seth hugged Jaiden tightly on that note.

Seth went to bed early since he had to be at the airport early for his flight to Jacksonville. Peyton was sitting in the den with his dad, the Isenbergs, Dale, and Charley when Jaiden walked in and sat next to his husband.

Dad Riley said, "Jaiden, thank you for bringing Seth up for the Bris Milah. He didn't let me know he wanted to be here, or I would have gotten him a ticket."

"Dad, Peyton, and I didn't get him a ticket to come up."

Dad Riley asked, "Richard, did you get him a ticket?" "No, sir, I didn't. I thought Peyton and Jaiden did."

"I'll be right back, guys."

Dad Riley walked to Seth's room, knocked on the door, and went inside when Seth told him to come in. "Son, how did you get your ticket to fly to Memphis?"

"Dad, when I found out Sally was pregnant, I began saving to pay for my own ticket to come up to see the baby when he was born; I wanted to do that instead of asking someone for help."

"Son, you saved that money out of your allowance?" "Yes, sir, please don't be mad." "Mad! Seth, I'm so proud of you that I don't know what to say. Get some sleep; we'll talk about it later."

When Jim returned to the den, he said, "Phyllis, remind me when we get home to put some money in Seth's allowance account; he saved money from his allowance to buy the plane ticket to Memphis. Just when I thought I couldn't be more proud of that boy..."

Jim walked out on the deck because he didn't want anyone to see the tears falling across his face. Richard walked outside behind his dad, wrapped his arms around him, and rested his chin on his dad's shoulders. "Dad, I figured Seth wanted to be here when the baby was born, but I didn't realize he wanted to be here so badly." "Neither did I, Richard."

"I can't believe he didn't say anything to anyone and that he saved the plane fare out of his allowance. I'm gonna make sure that money gets back in his account. I wonder how he knew the Bris Milah was today because your mom and I didn't tell him."

"Neither did Sally or I, and I don't think Jaiden or Peyton told him either, so he had to do some checking on his own to know about today."

"Dad, I'll call Seth after he gets back to school and talk to him. Maybe he'll tell me how he found out about the bris ceremony. Either way, I am so glad he could be here; I just thought he was too busy at school to get away." "That's two of us, Richard, but knowing Seth the way we do, he probably busted his ass to get ahead with everything so he could come." "I have no doubt, Dad, no doubt!"

Phyllis walked outside on the deck to check on her boys, her husband being the oldest. "Are you guys OK?" Jim said, "We are, honey. We wondered how Seth knew about today and how surprised we were when he walked into the house." "Jim, don't either of you say anything to Seth about this, but he called me after he got back to Jacksonville to ask if there would be any kind of celebration in Memphis. So I told him about the Bris Milah, and he asked me not to say anything because he wanted to surprise everybody when he showed up."

"However, he did pay for his own ticket, he was adamant about doing that, and I didn't try to argue with him." "Well, I'm not going to argue with him about it either; I'm going to put that money back in his account and not tell him."

"So if he calls me and asks if I deposited money into his bank account, I'm going to say that I can't tell him who did. After all, it won't be a lie because I can't tell him because I don't want to. I can't believe he was that responsible; it blows my mind. Smart? Yes. Dependent? Yes. Stubborn? To a fault. Really wanting to make it on his own and make us proud of him? Definitely. Damn! He is such an incredible young man."

Jim and Phyllis went inside and told everyone they were heading back to the Hilton for the night and would fly back to Orange Beach early the following morning. And with that, they drove away from the house.

"Richard sat on the couch with Peyton and Jaiden, and Dale and Charley were in the chairs beside the French doors. "Richard, did you find out the answer to your question about how Seth got here?" "I did, Peyton; he saved the money for the ticket out of his allowance. I hope he didn't go hungry doing that. Dad said he would put the money back into Seth's bank account and not tell him who did it. I'm going to add a little to that, and I'm not going to admit it either."

"Richard, let's take a ride." When they got into the car and backed out of the driveway, Richard asked Jaiden where they were headed. "The airport, brother-in-law."

"What are we going to do there?" "I don't know what you're going to do, but I will show you how to be sneaky." "How so?" "Just watch when we get there."

When they got to the airport, Jaiden went to a ticket manager's office and found out that Seth had paid for the ticket with his debit card. So he reversed that charge, paid for the ticket with his card, and upgraded the flight back to Jacksonville to first class. "That, Richard, is how to be sneaky without anyone knowing what you did. But, of course, I made sure nobody would tell Seth anything about what you and I just did. So, it will be a mystery for him. Touche, Seth!"

Richard hugged Jaiden and thanked him profusely. Then, they told Sally and the other guys what was done and swore them to secrecy when they got home.

The following morning, Richard, Peyton, and Jaiden took Seth to the airport, made sure he got on his flight OK, and told him to call them when he got to Jacksonville. Seth promised he would.

Two hours later, Peyton got a call from Seth wanting to know if he or Richard had upgraded his seat on the flight back to Jax. Peyton told him he didn't and didn't have any idea who had done that. Then he let Richard and Jaiden know Seth had called and was trying to find out who upgraded his seat when he flew back to the University of Florida.

Richard and Jaiden smiled and said, "I don't know a thing about that, and even if I do or did, I would claim the Fifth." Then all three guys shared a hearty laugh.
