"High, Mom; how was your flight?" "Fast and furious; we had turbulence all the way up." "Well, that sucks." "Yes, it does, but when you fly first class, it's not as bad as it can be in coach." "Wait a minute, you flew first class?" "I did. I decided to treat myself for a change and be more relaxed when I got here." "I like that logic; you've done without long enough." "No, I haven't; I've had everything I ever wanted – well, maybe not as a little girl with an Ashkenazi Rabbi father, but I've certainly had everything I've wanted as an adult. The thing with me, Jaiden, is that I don't need much. You have been my life, and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a family physician and doing emergency medicine. I finally feel like I can do some things out of the ordinary." "You mean like having a boyfriend, Mom?"

"I don't know that I would call him a boyfriend, Jaiden. Charley said something one time that made me think about being around people and going out on a date, and the more I thought about what he said, the more I agreed with him. I have someone to take me out for dinner and pay for it. In return, he wants something, and I make sure he doesn't get it. It's a mutual relationship where I get what I want - and he doesn't. He's a retired surgeon I have known for years and good company for having someone to talk to. We always meet at a restaurant, and when we finish eating dinner, he goes to his house, and I go to mine." "It sounds like the perfect relationship, Mom." "It is, kinda-sorta."

"I am not going to get serious with anyone unless I meet someone who meets the standard your Dad set – and then some. That way, there is no chance I will do something I regret down the road." "That's an excellent way to look at it, Mom; make him rise to your standards and expectations." "Jaiden, that statement couldn't be more apropos for me."

"Have you had dinner, Mom." "Not yet; I was waiting to get to Erie and have that seafood dinner you mentioned." "Good; that is where we're headed. The children and the guys are already there, and we are trying the children on some different seafood dishes tonight – more broiled and less fried. We want to see if they enjoy the fish and shrimp cooked that way as much as they like the fried version." "That's not a bad idea, son; better to get them eating healthily now than to face problems down the road." "EGGZACTLY, Mom."

When Jaiden and his mom got to the restaurant, the children yelled "Grandma" when they saw their grandmother. Doctor Mom was taken aback by the children speaking so plainly instead of the childish Gandma she had always heard before. Peggy sat between Nathan Robert and Charles Logan and was surprised when Nathan Robert said, "Look, Grandma, Daddy Peyton got me some broiled shrimp; want one?" He picked up a shrimp and handed it to his grandmother. However, Charles Logan wasn't going to be outdone by Nathan Robert and offered Doctor Mom a fried oyster. Oysters are not a favorite of hers, but she took it with a smile, popped it into her mouth – and choked it down with all the style and grace she could muster. Jaiden was stifling a laugh because he knew how much his mother hated oysters; however, he also knew she would never do anything that would hurt any of the children's feelings.

Peyton leaned over and asked Jaiden what was so funny that he had to hide his face with his hand. "Peyton, Mom hates oysters – I mean really hates them – and she just ate one Charles Logan gave her. But, I feel this will be a fun night with the children sharing their food with their grandma." "Jaiden, I'll tell them Grandma can eat off her plate, and they should eat their food." "Peyton, don't you dare; I have every intention of watching my mother eat things she would never eat on her own. I hope she won't ask me why I look so smug." "She won't love; when your Mom has had enough eating things she doesn't like, she'll figure a way to politely tell the children no." "We'll see, Peyton; I bet she doesn't. I bet she will keep eating whatever the children offer her; I know my mother well!"

Jaiden motioned for Charley to follow him to the buffet table. At the table, he told Charley to watch Nathan Robert and Charles Logan giving his mother seafood off their plate. "Why, Jaiden? Is it a problem?" "You might say that. Either way, I have seen Mom eat a couple of fried oysters that Chuck gave her, and she despises the things. I am having a ball watching her eat what the children are giving her." "Jaiden, that is mean! You should tell the children to stop." No hell I won't, and you better not either. She made me eat things as I grew up that I hated, and seeing her experience payback – talk about satisfying." "I still say you should stop the children from giving her food she doesn't like." "Maybe you're right, Charley, but it ain't gonna happen."

That night in their bedroom, Charley asked, "Dale, did you notice Chuck giving Jaiden's mom the oysters?" "Yes, she seemed to enjoy them." "Dale, Jaiden said she despises oysters, but she wouldn't hurt Chuck's feelings by declining his offer." "Charley, tell me she didn't do that." "I wish I could, lover, but I can't. She hates oysters." "Oh no, we will have to apologize to her tomorrow." "I agree, sweetheart; it will be interesting to see and hear her response.

The following morning while everyone was sitting at the breakfast table, Ginny and Granny and their husbands included, Dale apologized to Mom Reynolds for Chuck giving her oysters and her eating them when she couldn't stand them." "Dale, it's OK. I have always hated those things, but I enjoyed them last night. They were seasoned well, cooked well, and had a good texture. I wouldn't mind getting some more before I go home."

"Mom, I was enjoying watching you eat those oysters knowing you hated them; it was sort of a payback for my being made to eat foods I didn't like when I was a little boy." "Oh well, Jaiden; I guess the joke was on you. I enjoyed those oysters last night; otherwise, I would have gracefully put them in a napkin and hidden them – just like you did when you stuffed butterbeans in the holes under the tabletop."

"You knew about that, Mom?" "Not only did I know about it, I always cleaned the beans out of those holes after you went to bed. Ginny did the same thing during the day." "Ginny?" "Jaiden, your momma, is telling the truth; we always knew what you did with the food you didn't like, and all the hiding places always got cleaned without you noticing it. Did you ever wonder why there was no food in those places when you put more food in them?" "Not really, but now that you mention it, I remember what I had put in the hiding places wasn't there when I would check later." "Uh Hmm, you thought you pulled something over on your mom and me, and we let you get away with it. What was the one food you disliked the most?" "Liver tops the list on that one, Ginny."

"Son, do you remember that special steak I would cook and serve you on noodles; it had teriyaki sauce on it?" "Yes, mam, it was delicious." "Jaiden, I never told you, but that was liver!" "Ginny, are you kidding me?" "Not at all, son; it was calve's liver. There was a Chinese Ambassador to the US whose wife gave that recipe to people who thought they didn't like liver; you couldn't eat enough of the stuff, so I made sure you got it at least once a week for the vitamin B in it."

"Oh, I think I am going to be sick!" "It's too late for that now, Jaiden; that liver has come and gone. By the way, you know the beef medallions I cooked for you last week?" "Ginny, you didn't!" "Yes, I did, and you ate them like they were going out of style. And you know what else? The babies loved the liver too." Peyton was dying laughing because he knew what Ginny and Granny had done, and he didn't say a word to Jaiden; he even watched the ladies prepare and cook the liver."

"Peyton, so help me; when we go to bed tonight, I'm gonna pull your briefs down and spank your butt well!" "Ooo, that sounds fun; is that a promise?" That remark drew a rebuke from Ginny and a laugh from Grampy. Peyton was sitting next to Jaiden and moved closer to him and then ran his hand up Jaiden's thigh and into his crotch, causing Jaiden's eyes to buldge. He shot Peyton a glance as Peyton seductively ran his tongue across his lips, turning Jaiden's pilot light up to high.

When the children had been bathed and put to bed, the adults retreated to the deck to chat and have a cup of coffee. Peyton and Jaiden were sitting in a corner with a light blanket over them since the night air was cool, and they were wearing shorts. Peyton knew he had already lit Jaiden's amorous pilot light, so he gently and unobtrusively slid his hand in Jaiden's shorts under the elastic band of his briefs and began to softly massage his flagpole up and down in micro-movements. He didn't let up even when Jaiden gave him the eye because he knew Jaiden couldn't say anything without embarrassing himself.

After fifteen minutes or so, he felt Jaiden's stomach tense, his breathing stop. He then observed Jaiden leaning backward as if he was stretching. Stretching he wasn't, getting Peyton's hand slimy, definitely. Then, Jaiden couldn't believe it when he watched Peyton remove his hands from his underwear, lift his hand to his mouth, and pretend to cough as he licked Jaiden's spunk off his hand.

Dale saw what happened and enjoyed watching Jaiden squirm in his seat. When Peyton had cleaned his hand off, so to speak, Dale looked at him and asked if he would like another cup of coffee with `cream' in it. Peyton blushed red like a radish and told Dale he would love a cup of coffee with sweet cream. Jaiden knew what Dale was doing and shot him a disapproving glance, to which Dale replied, "I'll bring you a cup as well, Jaiden." Jaiden was in total disbelief at what had just happened with his mother sitting in front of him. Did she see anything? Did her keen sense of smell detect an odor of ammonia? Would she notice a stain in the crotch of his shorts when he stood up? He likely will never know the answer to his questioning thoughts – unless his mother decides to rib him about what occurred under the blanket. He was bracing himself for possible upcoming questions.

When everyone decided to retire for the evening, Jaiden leaned over, threw the blanket across his arm, and held it in front of him as he stood. Then, he went to his bedroom, followed by Peyton as Dale and Charley locked up the house and set the burglar alarm.

When they were in the bedroom with the door closed and locked, Jaiden dropped the blanket to the bathroom floor and then looked at the front of his shorts. "Peyton, take a look!" "Peyton started laughing when he saw a huge wet spot in the front of Jaiden's shorts. Jaiden wasn't happy, and Peyton knew it as he coaxed Jaiden toward the bed, where he lowered Jaiden's pants and began to clean every dribble of white cream from his body.

When Peyton was finished tonguing Jaiden's nether region, Jaiden was so turned on that his glans was as purple as a large, ripe plum. Peyton noticed Jaiden appeared to be in a bit of discomfort, that his glans head was very swollen and purple, as he lightly took Jaiden's rod in his hands, gently squeezed his glans head, and softly licked Jaiden's now copious amount of Cowper's fluid from his meatus. A few minutes later, Jaiden stiffened as he shot a massive load of sperm down the back of Peyton's throat and then collapsed on the bed - entirely out of breath.

Peyton went into their bathroom and got a warm washcloth for Jaiden to clean himself. When he returned to the side of the bed, the moon's light showed through the bedroom windows lighting up Peyton's nude body, thus allowing Jaiden to see his nicely sized, erect phallus glistening from the evidence of Peyton's sexual arousal. Twenty minutes later, Jaiden had repaid Peyton for his early weekend gift.

Saturday morning, the crew arose early as they usually did to eat breakfast and go to the synagogue for Sabbath services. The children were funny when they went into the nursery at the temple because they had become accustomed to getting a lollipop at the synagogue in Memphis; nobody got one in Erie, but they loved Mrs. Schwartz, and they were always excited to see her whenever. The children's grandmother thought they were funny heading into the nursery because she could see the wheels turning in Nathan Robert's and Charles Logan's heads. She knew they were searching for something to get their hands on and hide, or at least someone to prank.

Rabbi Kravitz delivered a sermon that morning that was second to none, speaking on each person's responsibility to help others whenever and wherever possible. He spoke further on the importance of performing mitzvahs according to Hashem's commands and, even more so, the importance of expecting nothing in return for those mitzvahs. By happenstance, the children's message in the nursery was on the same subject, so the guys would be watching the children to see what, if anything, they learned about being nice to others and how they would put into effect the lesson they had learned.

After temple services, the clan ate lunch at the country club, where they met Pete and Allison Gray, and their children. It didn't take long to see that the children had taken in the morning's lesson when they saw Chuck and Nathan offering food off their plates to the Gray's youngest children. Nathan and Chuck were much like Jaiden regarding food on their plates: don't mess with it. And yet, here they were, breaking with their tradition of protecting their food and sharing it with others. Charley looked at Peyton and Jaiden and said, "maybe there is hope on the horizon for those two boys." Peyton replied that they could only pray that was the case.

The dads were proud of their children for listening to their Sabbath lesson and putting what they learned into effect. They thought all was going well until Benjamin Dale yelled at the top of his lungs, "Daddy, I have to pee!" The people in the dining room went wild with laughter when Benjamin Dale made his announcement. Dale turned beet red as he got out of his seat and took his son to the bathroom. When Dale and his son returned to their seats, the restaurant patrons gave them a round of applause, causing Dale to blush even more. Jaiden and his mom were doing their best not to lose it and bust out laughing. Still, however hard they tried, they couldn't hold the laughter back, and Jaiden's mom let loose with a laugh that sounded like a laughing hyena in Africa.

"Riley, Reynolds, Andrews Pediatrics, this is Ashley; how may I help you?"

"Ashley, this is State Senator Jarred Lemanski; would you please ask Dr. Jaiden Riley-Reynolds or Dr. Peyton Riley-Reynolds to give me a call at their convenience?" "Senator, Dr. Jaiden happens to be free now; let me transfer your call."

This is Dr. Jaiden." "Dr. Jaiden, this is State Senator Jarred Lemanski. I am sponsoring a bill in the State Senate to change the rules on Pennsylvania adoptions by same-sex couples. I was wondering if I could use you and Dr. Peyton as examples of why our law should be changed?" "Senator, I will need to ask Peyton, but I have no problem with your request. My husband is walking into our office as we speak; hold on a second."

"Peyton, Senator Jarred Lemanski is on the phone asking if he can use us as an example of why Pennsylvania's law on same-sex adoption should be changed." "Jaiden, I don't see why not, but I would prefer the children's names be left out of the news." "Senator, did you hear Peyton's answer?" "I did, Dr. Jaiden, and I will ensure the children's names are not mentioned in the bill. Besides, I think everybody already knows about your children from previous newscasts. "That is probably true, Senator, but, just the same, I would ask that Peyton's request be observed. Do you think Messer's Dale and Charley Leonard-Anderson would be willing to be included in the bill?" "Senator, I can't speak for them, but I will be happy to ask them and call you back with their answer." "I would be grateful if you would do that for me, Dr. Jaiden." "I will call you right back; did you give Ashley your telephone number?" "I did." "Call you right back."

"Dale, this is Jaiden. State Senator Jarred Lemanski just called and asked if he could use you, Charley, Peyton, and me as examples of why Pennsylvania's same-sex marriage rules for adoption should be changed. He is sponsoring a bill in the State Senate to do that." "Jaiden, we are on the speaker phone, and Charley heard you, so, Charley, what do you say?" "Dale, I have no problem with the Senator's request, but I don't want the children's names mentioned in the process." "Charley, I have already told the Senator that, and he has agreed to keep the children's names private." "Dale, if you are agreeable to the request, I'll vote with you." "Jaiden, there's your answer." "Thanks, guys; I'll let the senator know."

"Senator Lemanski, this is Dr. Jaiden; Dale and Charley agree on the terms that their children's names are kept private." "Dr. Jaiden, I promise I won't mention their names anywhere, only that you and the other gentlemen have ten children between the four of you and that your families are exemplary." "Let us know how things go with your bill, Senator, and if I can help, let me know." "I will do that, Dr. Jaiden; thank you." "Senator, you are most welcome."

Senator Darrell Jenkins, President of the Senate, is to call the same-sex couple adoption change to a vote on the Senate floor on Friday afternoon. The Senator called Jaiden back and asked if he, Peyton, Dale, and Charley could be in the Senate Chambers when a vote on the bill is called by the Senate President. Jaiden said he would talk to the other gentlemen and see what they thought of the idea and contact the Senator later in the evening. The guys discussed the new request by the Senators and called Ginny and Granny to ask if they could keep the children Friday night and told them why. Both ladies said they would be glad to stay with the children that night. Jaiden called the Senator and advised they would be at the capital for the vote on the law change.

Friday night, the guys were seated in a section of the Senate Chamber that was reserved for honored guests. Television crews were there to cover the historic vote. When they saw Jaiden, Peyton, Dale, and Charley, they scrambled to interview the guys before and after the vote on the measure.

Surprisingly, when the measure was called for a vote, it passed by a vote of two to one in the State Senate and became law immediately instead of taking effect on 01 January of the following year. The guys were interviewed on their thoughts about the measure and the dissenting votes. Jaiden said that dissension was expected but thought it would have been a closer vote than what was seen that night. He related that the adoption of the measure was a move in the right direction for the happiness and well-being of Pennsylvania's homeless children, who would finally be able to become a part of a loving, supportive family.

As they were leaving, the guys saw their friends from Fox News. They had a grand reunion and went to dinner together to celebrate the night's historic vote. The news crew had already sent in their event coverage and would watch the eleven pm news with Jaiden, Peyton, Dale, and Charley – who would also be a big part of their story.

That night shortly after the story aired on Pennsylvania's historical measure, Jaiden's phone rang. "Jaiden, this is Mom; I saw an interesting news segment tonight; when did you know that was going to happen?"

"Mom, I got a call from the Senator on Monday asking to use our names during the presentation of the bill for a vote by the Senate. Thursday, the Senator called me back to ask if Peyton, Dale, Charley, and I could be in attendance at the Senate vote, and thanks to Ginny and Granny, we were able to go. We're still in Harrisburg and will fly back to Erie tomorrow afternoon." "Well, I am very proud of the four of you, and I know there are a lot of children who will have a brighter future because of you four." "Mom, I hope that is true for the children's sake. We had dinner with our Fox News friends, and the story is also supposed to be on national news." "It was, son, and I have already gotten a call from the local news station wanting to interview me, but I declined because this is your story, not mine."

"Mom, if you want to talk with them, it won't hurt our feelings." "No, as I said, this is your story, not mine."

When Jaiden's mom reiterated her statement, Peyton's phone rang with his Dad calling. He and Phyllis were quite proud of Peyton and Jaiden for standing up for what was right for everyone, especially children without loving homes. Then there was Leon, Peter, and Jenny calling to say the same thing their parents had said. The following day, Richard, Sally, and their boys met the guys at their home. He hugged and congratulated them on the Riley-Reynolds-Leonard-Anderson Act mandating that same-sex couples without a criminal record would be allowed to adopt children into loving and supportive homes.

Rabbi Kravitz watched for the guys to get home from Harrisburg. When he saw them arrive home, he went next door to congratulate them and to let them know that the temple was abuzz with the news of the historic event. Once again, the guys had put their synagogue on the national map, and emails were pouring in from all over the country. Don Stanislauski telephoned Jaiden to let him know that he would be hearing several adoptions by gay parents on Monday that had been pending the new legislation. Once again, the guys wished the uproar over the adoption rule change, like other news events they had endured, would soon end. Grateful, yes. Wishing the news would end, most definitely.

Everyone went to Tony's on Saturday night to celebrate their fantastic week with the new Senate bill. What they didn't expect - but got - was mobs of attention supporting adoptions by gay couples. The guys were very gracious with those who approached them and thanked them for their support.

After Saturday night dinner, the guys retreated to the deck after the children had been put to bed for the night. Their topic of conversation was their disbelief at the Pennsylvania Senate voting to amend the state's adoption laws and the state's use of them as examples of why the adoption laws should have been changed much earlier than they were.

"Jaiden, do you or Peyton know how many children are waiting to be adopted in Pennsylvania?" "Charley, over three thousand Pennsylvania children are waiting to be adopted by loving families. Hopefully, Friday's law change will speed up adoptions and provide homes for children who desperately need them." "Lord knows, I hope that happens for the children." "So do Peyton and me, Charley."

Sunday morning, the guys packed the children into the van and took them to the beach to play in the surf and just have some fun. The children ran and laughed and played to their heart's content. The beach was crowded, but people left the children and the guys alone as they spent family time together. However, when they were leaving the beach, it was a different story. Multiple individuals approached the guys to thank them for everything they had done for the Erie community and now for children all over the state who need loving homes. It would be an understatement to say Jaiden, Peyton, Dale, and Charley were humbled by the stated sentiments of people they didn't know.

Monday, an announcement was made about the winners of this year's vote for employee of the year. It was no surprise that Jaiden and Peyton were again named employees of the year for their work on behalf of children in Erie and the northeast part of the US. Peyton and Jaiden were humbled by the honors they received over the past week, but the one thing they wanted most of all was peace and quiet, so they hid from people for the rest of the week. They saw patients who had appointments, and there were many, but they hid from everybody else to get some peace and quiet.

"Peyton, what would you like to do tonight?" "Jaiden, I would like to have a quiet dinner in the back corner of our favorite bistro downtown, and then I would like to go home to hold and enjoy our boys. We haven't given them our personal time for a while, and I would like to do that." "That's what I want to do as well, love." "Then let's do it!"

"Dale, Peyton, and I would like to go for a quiet dinner at the bistro downtown and then come home and spend some time with our boys. Would you and Charley mind keeping them tonight so we can do that?" "We'd be glad to, Jaiden, you know that." "We'll keep the children tomorrow night so you and Charley can have a quiet dinner together. Where do you think Charley would like to have dinner?" "Jaiden, we both like the same little bistro, so I'm sure that's where he would like to go." "It is a great little restaurant, so I understand why he likes it."

That night, Dale and Charley kept all the children while Peyton and Jaden had a nice, quiet dinner; steaks, baked potatoes with all the trimmings, and grilled asparagus. Then the two lovebirds took in a movie – a love story. When they finally arrived home, they were more relaxed than they'd been in ages. They lay on the floor and played with their children until the boys were tired and wanted to play in the inside rain and then go to bed. Finally, they bathed their sons, dressed them for bed, tucked them into their beds, gave them the obligatory Riley kiss on the forehead, and told their boys they loved them. Then they went to the deck with a cup of coffee and sat together on the new porch swing Jaiden had purchased. Jaiden held Peyton on his lap and rubbed his head as Peyton rested his head on Jaiden's shoulder. They didn't say much as Jaiden rested his chin on Peyton's head and breathed in the scent he has loved since he first met Peyton.

The following morning when they arose and got ready for work, Charley and Dale had gone to the kitchen and prepared breakfast for everybody. As Jaiden walked into the dining room, Dale made him hold his chair and bend over for a second. Then, Dale rubbed a spot on Jaiden's tush and asked him about the hole in his butt. "Dale, what do you mean by saying there's a hole in my butt?" "Jaiden, it looks like Cupid shot you in the ass with an arrow last night." "I wondered why I felt the way I do this morning. Peyton and I spent a long time on the deck last night."

When Peyton walked into the dining room with the boys, Charley did the same thing Dale did with Jaiden. "Hmm, looks like Cupid shot you in the ass with an arrow just like he did Jaiden last night." "Well, that sure would explain the night we had; talk about a special night! And you know what? Tonight is your and Dale's night! Jaiden and I hope you enjoy your dinner at the Bistro as much as we enjoyed ours."

Later in the evening, as Jaiden and Peyton kept the children, Dale and Charlie settled into the back corner of the Bistro for a gourmet steak dinner with all the trimmings. When they got home after dinner, the lights were dimmed, soft music was playing on the stereo, and all the children were in bed asleep. Dale and Charley shed their clothing and stood skin to skin in the living room and danced the night away to soft jazz music. When they went to bed, they would have the most romantic tryst they'd had in a long time, and when they awakened the next morning, they would be more rested than they had been in ages.

"Jaiden, thank you for our dinner last night." "You're welcome, Dale."
