"Dale, are
you and Charley ready for graduation tomorrow night?" "We are, Jaiden. Our parents should fly in tonight, arriving
around seven and staying at the Holiday Inn since we leave Sunday afternoon for
England; Dad said they are saving on room costs so mom can spend, spend, spend
while in England." "Dale, somehow, I
have a feeling that all of our parents will do the
same thing. They could save even more if
they stayed here at the house." "I told
them that, but they said your mom and Peyton's parents would take two rooms,
and then there would be Seth." "Dale, you
know Seth will stay with Richard and Sally."
"That's true; I didn't think about that."
"It doesn't
matter; it'll probably be better to let people do what they have already
planned to do so nobody gets stressed out thinking about making the flight on time."
"Peyton, are
our graduation gowns and cords together and ready?" "Jaiden, you know they are;
you put them together a week ago and hung them on the back of the bedroom door,
and you have checked them every day." "I
know, Peyton, but we have five rambunctious boys who could have grabbed the
cords to tie something or someone up."
"I'll go check, Jaiden."
"Yep, everything's
on the back of the door – which I have closed and locked." "Thank you, sweetheart." Peyton looked at
Charley and Dale and rolled his eyes, eliciting a laugh out of Charley.
"Everybody
will be flying into Erie tonight at seven, so what will we do for dinner? "It is seafood buffet night at the Wharf
restaurant, and the children will love to eat there, and everybody who has
eaten there seems to love it, so why not?"
"Agreed, seafood it is."
"Daddy." "Yes, mam, Alaina." "Can we have seafood for dinner
tonight?" "Oh, baby girl, I don't know;
we'll have to see." "Pweeze,
Daddy, you never tell me no, remember?"
"How well I remember that sweetheart, but still, this time, we'll have
to see what everybody wants to eat when they get here."
"Chuck, we
eat seafood tonight; I'll ask Granny; she is Daddy's boss."
Peyton and
Jaiden were about to bust a gut laughing when Peyton said, "Dale, I guess you
know where you stand!" "How well I do,
Peyton. I think I spoiled my daughter a
little too much." "A `LITTLE TOO MUCH,
Dale?" "OK, I admit it; I spoiled her
way too much." "That's more like it."
A few
minutes later, Dale's and Charley's parents called to let them know their plane
landed at the airport, and they were renting a car to drive to Jaiden's. When they arrived at Jaiden's, all their
grandchildren tackled them at the door.
Alaina
Noelle hugged her granny and asked, "Granny, will you tell Daddy we're eating
seafood tonight? They have a buffet that
me and my brothers like, and we can eat all we want."
"Dale." "Yes, Mom."
"My
granddaughter wants to go to the seafood buffet tonight; IS THAT WHERE WE ARE
GOING TO EAT?" "Mom, since you put it
that way, I guess so." Jaiden and Peyton were howling because Alaina played a
royal flush against her dad and won the poker hand.
Charley
walked downstairs and asked Dale if they had decided where everybody would eat
dinner. "No, Charley, we haven't
decided; we were told where we will eat dinner." "By whom?"
"Guess."
"Alaina
Noelle?" "How did you EVER know
that? She pulled rank and got Mother to
tell me we were eating seafood because that is what Alaina Noelle
and her brothers want for dinner."
Dale's dad
spoke up and said, "Son, I told you very explicitly not to spoil that girl; she
is too much like your mother," a comment that drew the ire of his wife and
Dale's mom, but more importantly, Alaina Noelle's granny.
The children
were playing hard in the backyard when Peyton's parents arrived and walked
outside on the deck. "Hey guys, how are
Granny's boys? "Gandma...!" They ran up to the deck to hug Peyton's
parents, and the first thing Elijah and Mark asked was, "Gandma,
Gwampy, can we eat seafood for dinner?"
Peyton's dad
said, "Boys, I think I can persuade your daddies to let you have seafood for
dinner tonight. Let me go talk to them."
Dad Riley
went inside and said, "Peyton, Jaiden, my grandsons want seafood for dinner
tonight. Doesn't the Wharf Restaurant
have a buffet tonight?" "Dad, they do, but
I don't know if that is where everyone wants to eat."
"Peyton, it
doesn't matter where everybody else wants to eat, my grandsons want seafood,
and they will get seafood – at the Wharf."
"Dad, we had already decided that; we got our orders from Alaina Noelle
– and her granny! So, you are a little
bit late on that front." `Good, my
grandsons want seafood, so thank you for respecting my direction."
Jim returned
to the deck and said, "Elijah, Mark, we are going to the seafood buffet for
dinner. Is that where you wanted to
eat?" "Yeahhhhhhh,
Gwampa."
"You're welcome, fellas.
About forty
minutes later, everyone got in their vehicles and drove to the restaurant. When Jaiden and Peyton went inside, they were
greeted promptly and asked how many were in their party. When Jaiden replied forty-seven people, the
hostess almost swallowed her tongue. The
place went wild, trying to get that many seats ready for everybody.
"Ladies and
gentlemen, I am Provost James Collier of Penn State University. Welcome to the 2023 Graduation
exercises. We have a special surprise
for several of the University's graduates tonight. As such, we will deviate from the usual
finalities to award four awards to individuals who have no idea they have
earned them."
"First, I would
like to call on the University's chaplain, Associate Rabbi Jacob Belson, of the
Temple Anshe Hesed in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Rabbi Belson.
"Let us
pray. Oh God, our omnipotent and
omniscient Lord, we pray to ask Your blessings upon each graduate tonight that
You would protect them in the days ahead, make them prosperous in their
professional endeavors, and bless their families with great love and
appreciation for each other. Be with
everyone here, oh God, that they will never need anything and will always be a
blessing for and to others. Amen."
The
President of the University stepped up to the podium and called for the
valedictorian and salutatorian to give their addresses to the audience. When they had done so, the President stepped
back up to the microphone, saying, "Earlier, I stated we would deviate from the
norm for graduations to present five highly unexpected awards to five
individuals who have made history several times over at Penn State
University. At this time, I would like
to call five individuals to come to the podium to receive their honors: Dr. Jaiden Robert Riley-Reynolds, Dr. Peyton
James Riley-Reynolds, Mr. Dale Leonard-Anderson, Mr. Charley Leonard-Anderson,
and Mr. Sean Leon Riley. We would also
like to call to the podium Dr. Peggy Reynolds, Dr. James, and Mrs. Phyllis
Riley, Mr. and Mrs. Dale and Angela Anderson, and Mr. Charles and Mrs. Lindsey
Leonard; however, we shan't call those individuals since they are in the
audience trying to keep their ten grandchildren in one spot: the five children
each of Drs. Jaiden and Peyton Riley-Reynolds and Misters Dale and Charley
Leonard-Anderson. At about that time,
everyone in the audience began laughing their butts off when they heard "Daddyyyyyyyyyy" from Nathan-Robert, and Chuck.
The dads had
sheepish red faces and smiled from ear to ear.
"Ladies and
Gentlemen, Drs. Jaiden and Peyton Riley have undertaken to earn Master's degrees, respectively, in the fields of Mechanical
Engineering and Environmental Engineering to enhance their skills as
Pediatricians specializing in Oncology and Pediatric surgery. Not only have they earned a Master's Degree in their chosen fields, they have far
exceeded the expectations for those academic fields. Mr. Leon Riley, Dr. Peyton Riley-Reynold's
brother, has earned a Master's Degree with honors in
Clinical Psychology and will be joining his brother Peyton and brother Richard
and Jaiden Riley-Reynolds as a clinical Family and Child Psychologist in their
Pediatric Oncology Practice with Saint Jude's Cancer Research Hospital's branch
in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Jaiden
Riley-Reynolds and Dr. Peyton Riley Reynolds, please approach the podium. When they got to the podium, The University
President began extolling their work in engineering and medicine. We have a special individual today to present
the degrees Dr. Peyton and Dr. Jaiden have earned, and we would like him to
approach the podium at this time.
Peyton's eyes flooded with tears as his paternal grandfather walked onto
the stage.
"Dr. Jaiden
and Dr. Peyton, the University has the distinct honor of advising each of you
that you have earned not only the Master's degrees in
Engineering for which you matriculated at Penn State University but also
your Doctoral degrees in Engineering.
With great pleasure, the University informs you that your theses are
being printed and will be used as texts in the bachelor of
engineering programs. All
proceeds from the sales of those books will be donated to St. Jude's Cancer
research hospital in honor of Dr. Robert Jaiden Reynolds, Sr."
"Dr. Jaiden
Riley-Reynolds, it is with extreme pleasure that Penn State University awards
you your Master's Degree and Doctoral Degree in
Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Riley,
please place the Doctoral Cap and honors cords on Drs. Jaiden and Peyton." Peyton's grandfather stepped forward, removed
the mortarboard from Jaiden's head, and replaced it with the doctoral cap. Then he took Jaiden's graduation rope and placed
the doctoral rope around his shoulders.
When that
had been done, the same procedure was followed for Peyton, and his grandfather
hugged him for the longest as the audience roared with approval.
What
happened next drew everyone to tears.
The President
of the University approached the podium and said, "Will the Honorable Judge
Norman Anderson, Judge of the Superior Court of Memphis, Tennessee, and the
Honorable Anthony Smith, District Attorney for Memphis, Tennessee, please
approach the lectern?"
When Leon
saw the two people next to Jaiden and Peyton, who gave him a chance and a life
he never before had, his knees buckled, and Peyton and
Jaiden caught him before he hit the floor.
They got him back to his senses and helped him stand and face Norman
Anderson and Anthony Smith; they hugged Leon in the tightest of embraces and
spoke softly to him, congratulating him for his accomplishments and turning his
life around.
Leon told
them that they were the ones who deserved the honors, and both said, "No, we
saw misery with potential, and we did what we could to set things right and to
help you; you did all the hard work, and we are so proud of you."
"The
University President stepped to the podium and requested Leon's parents stand
to be introduced to the audience. Then,
he asked Judge Anderson to relate Leon's story to those in attendance. When the Judge finished telling Leon's story,
the house had no dry eyes. Peyton and
Jaiden were holding Leon up as they cried with him. Then the President said, "Ladies and
gentlemen, there is more to the story that you deserve to and should know to
motivate yourselves now and in the future.
Mr. Riley,
with the help of his brother and brother-in-law, attended Wellstone University
in North Carolina and, in two years, earned a four-year bachelor's degree with
honors and a 4.0 GPA in Psychology. He
met his spouse, who was and still is one of his brother's medical associates,
and they married and lived in North Carolina while he earned his degree
there. When he received his degree from
Wellstone University, he enrolled in Penn State, where, like his brother, he
excelled and far exceeded expectations in his degree field. Like his brother and brother-in-law, the
University proudly honors Mr. Sean Leon Riley with his Master's
and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology.
"
"The
University would also like to inform all attendees that Mr. Riley earned his
degrees in less than three years, a feat never before
matched. He is, indeed, a brilliant
young man!" Leon fainted as the audience gave him a long, standing ovation.
When the
ovation ended, a little girl yelled, "Unka Leon, I
love you!" Leon had the presence of mind to say, "Alaina Noelle, Unka Leon loves you too, sweetheart!" That drew another round of applause.
Then another
unexpected thing happened: the President
called Dale and Charley to the podium.
"Ladies and
Gentlemen, this is another first in the history of Penn State. These two young men enrolled at Penn State
University to pursue graduate degrees in engineering, an endeavor in which they
have been incredibly successful. They,
by the way, are brothers by choice to Drs. Peyton and Jaiden Riley-Reynolds,
and Doctors Leon, and Richard Riley." When the President finished saying that,
a little boy's voice rang out saying, "Hey, Daddy-dudes, you rock!"
"Dale and
Charley hysterically laughed because they knew Charley's Dad had put Chuck up
to doing that, and Chuck did it well!
Suddenly,
another little voice rang out, saying, "Daddy, can we go eat seafood now?" The
President looked at Dale and said, "I understand you never tell your daughter
no, is that correct?"
"Sadly, yes,
sir. I didn't listen to my dad and
spoiled her rotten – and I enjoyed every minute of doing it even though I am
now paying the price. She's definitely daddy's little girl, and you should see her keep
her nine brothers in line!"
The
President replied, "So, she's a tough little girl?" "Jaiden spoke up and said, "That's putting it
lightly," making the audience laugh.
The President
said, "Well, we'll get the show moving.
Mr. Dale and Mr. Leonard-Anderson, you have far exceeded the
requirements for a master's degree in engineering. Like with Drs. Peyton and Jaiden
Riley-Reynolds, your theses have been printed and will be used as texts in the
engineering undergraduate program. All
proceeds from selling those texts will be donated to aid homeless children
within the LGBTQ-IA movement." Both young men sobbed at that announcement. However, it wasn't them who cried the hardest;
it was their Dads.
You could
hear Dale's and Charley's Dads crying in the auditorium, and their father's
faces were awash with tears. They are
still finding out how much they missed as their sons grew up; they were
experiencing a deep emotional hurt for having been so mean to their sons for
being gay.
"Additionally,
Penn State University takes great pride in presenting you not only with your Master's Degrees in Engineering, but your Doctorates as
well."
"Congratulations,
gentlemen; you truly come from a family of scholars and have earned the
accolades you have received here today.
Everybody erupted in tears when Dale's brother walked onto the stage to
present his brother and brother-in-law with their hard-earned degrees. Not even his parents knew he was at the
graduation ceremony.
When the
graduation ceremony was over, the guys were flooded with people crowding them
to congratulate them for their accomplishments.
The children
were smartly dressed in their Ford racing suits to help keep track of them, and
they enjoyed the attention they got from the graduation attendees.
"Daddy,
watcha doin'?" "Jason, I am looking at pictures of the synagogue where my
grandfather was a Rabbi in England.
We'll all visit the shul where he was the Rabbi and attend a Shabbat
service before we leave England to come home."
"Daddy, what
is a shul?" "It's just another way to
refer to a synagogue." "Oh, OK."
"Daddy?" "Yes, son."
"Are you OK? You're not talking
like you usually do, and you look upset."
"I'm sorry,
buddy; I didn't mean to let you know something had upset me." "What happent, Daddy?"
"Jason, some
people were really mean to two little boys as they
grew up. They got into a lot of trouble
because they didn't feel like anybody cared about them or helped them with
anything."
"Daddy,
didn't they have two daddies like we do?"
"No, son, they didn't, and the state took the boys out of their homes
and got someone to adopt them. They both
went to the same parents who were crazy, mentally ill and, sometimes, beat them
like what happened with Uncle Seth and Uncle Richard."
"Daddy
Peyton and I would have taken care of the boys and their problems, but by the
time I found out what happened to them, they had already grown up, and one of
the guys had a child of his own just like I have you. It was sad the other day when I read the
daddy of the little boy had died at an early age and wouldn't be able to be a
daddy to his son."
"Daddy, what
did they do that was bad?" "Son, they hurt
two people very badly and caused them to go to Heaven and live with
Hashem." "Do you know their names,
Daddy?" "Sweetheart, their last name was
Swartz."
"Like Mrs.
Schwartz at the synagogue?" "Well,
similar, but their last names were spelled differently even though they sounded
the same."
"Daddy, the
synagogue where your grandpa was Rabbi is pretty. Are we going to see it when we go to
England?"
"We are, sweetie; we're definitely going to take Grandma to see
where she went to the temple when she was a little girl. How would you like to go to the temple for a
Shabbat service?" "Can we, Daddy; that
would be fun."
"Jason, you
and your brothers and sister need to get to bed. We have to get up
early tomorrow morning to get to the airport and catch our plane to
England."
"Will it be
a big airplane, Daddy?" "It will be the
biggest made, Jason, an Airbus A-380.
It's better than the Boeing plane and much more comfortable to fly on. You aren't tired when you get to where you
are going.
"Jaiden." "Yes, sir, Peyton."
"What did
you say or do to the children?"
"What do you
mean?" "I mean, I was coming downstairs
to help get them ready for bed, and when I checked their rooms, they were
already asleep. I know they were awake
and running wild fifteen minutes ago, so you had to say or do something for
them to fall asleep so fast."
"Oh,
that. Well, I told them that if they
wanted to ride on the plane tomorrow, they had to go to bed and go to sleep so
they could get up early in the morning."
"Jaiden, I
don't remember them ever going to bed and going to sleep so fast." "Love, you have to try the power of bribery
sometimes; it works like a charm when needed."
"Jaiden, that is mean to do that to the children."
"Peyton,
walk over to me for a moment." When Peyton did what was asked of him, Jaiden
stood up and removed his shirt. "Peyton,
was it mean of me to do that?" "No."
"And is it
mean of me to do this," Jaiden asked as he pulled Peyton's pants and underwear
to the floor?" "No, it isn't mean of you
to do that, but as you will notice, you have awakened Mr. Happy."
"Yeah, I
notice that! Now, is it mean for me to
do this? Jaiden asked as he took his
lover's member into his mouth and began giving Peyton the most sensual BJ he
could give while they were in the den watching television." Peyton looked down
as he gave a guttural groan of approval to what Jaiden was doing for him.
When Peyton had
tendered every ounce of spunk he had into Jaiden, his knees buckled, and he
collapsed onto Jaiden. That's when
Jaiden lifted his husband into his arms and carried him outside to the chaise
lounge chair on the deck. Peyton's legs
were around Jaiden's waist, holding on for dear life when Jaiden sat on the
chair with Peyton sitting just above his waist.
Next, Jaiden
asked Peyton if it was mean to lower him slowly onto his cock as he then
did. Peyton groaned with pleasure as he
began riding Jaiden like he was on a horse bouncing in the saddle. Jaiden made it last, and twenty minutes
later, he closed his eyes, grunted hard, and emptied himself into the one
person he loved more than life itself.
He held
tightly to Peyton, holding his head against his own as he recounted how he was
the luckiest man in the world to have such a wonderful husband with whom he
shared five wonderful, brilliant children.
Peyton
melted with what had just happened.
Almost a full hour of ecstasy would make you think they had just married
and were again on their honeymoon.
"Jaiden, I
wish I had the words to tell you how much I love you; I don't think words exist
that are powerful enough to tell you that."
"Sweetheart,
you don't have to tell me that; you always show me. Peyton, when we make love like we just did, I
know how much you love me; I feel how much you love me."
"I knew how
much you loved me the first day we met; that was evident. When we showered together for the first time
and then laid on those silk sheets you bought to make sure I was comfortable
when we first laid down together, I knew how much you loved me."
"When the
children were born, and as they have grown up, I have seen your love for me
explode with growth such that I can't even describe it. You are, have been, and always will be the
person who has made my life infinitely better and happier and made me feel like
the most blessed person on this earth."
Every
morning when I wake up and see your handsome face, I melt inside. When you kiss me every morning, my body
tingles with excitement as I get a major adrenaline rush. Even right now, touching your skin makes me
unbelievably happy. And knowing that we
get to work all day together on the singular purpose that binds us gives me the
biggest wow factor I could start and end the day with. All I want to do right now is hold you the
way I did that time at your mom's and dad's house."
When Jaiden
said that, Peyton buried his face in Jaiden's
neck. It took only a second for Jaiden
to feel Peyton's tears cascading down his shoulder.
There is no
doubt about the love the two young men share between them; it's evident and
easy for everyone to see and marvel over.
And what's so great about that is that the children can see how much
their dads love each other – and them.
The next
morning before anyone else arose, Phyllis went to the kitchen to start a pot of
coffee. She glanced out the sliding
glass doors and saw Jaiden holding her son the way he had on that memorable
morning in Alabama when she realized how much Jaiden truly loved Peyton.
A few
minutes after the coffee finished brewing, Peggy walked into the kitchen,
poured herself a cup, and sat down to talk to Phyllis. She noticed Phyllis' tears and couldn't help
but ask about them.
"Peggy, do
you remember me telling you about seeing how much Jaiden truly loved Peyton
that morning after he had held Peyton all night in the deck swing?" "I do; why?"
Go look out
the sliding glass doors at the deck."
Peggy did as
Phyllis suggested, and when she returned to the kitchen, she had tears
streaming down her face as Phyllis did.
"Phyllis, I knew Jaiden truly loved Peyton when they first met, but seeing them on the deck with Jaiden holding Peyton
as they sleep, I finally understand what you and Jenny felt that morning in
Alabama.
With that
said, Peggy lost her composure and cried hard.
As she
regained her composure, she said they needed to awaken the lovebirds so
everyone could get the airport bus loaded when it arrived to take everyone to
the airport.
About an
hour later, the bus arrived, the luggage was loaded, and everyone at Jaiden's
and Peyton's house headed to the airport.
On the way
to the airport, Jaiden had the bus stop by his office, where he asked Leon to go
inside with him for a minute. When they
got to the door, Leon broke into tears when he saw his name and the title, Dr.
Leon Andrews, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist.
Jaiden held Leon for a few minutes, letting him get his emotions out of
his system. Then he had Leon stand next
to the door so he could be photographed with his new title and profession.
"Jaiden,
what are you going to do with that picture?"
"For one,
Leon, I will have it developed, framed, and put on the waiting room wall with
all our pictures and nameplates in the waiting room. Then, I will send a copy of the photograph to
a certain human turd in the Tennessee Department of
Corrections. I don't mean to be
offensive by any means, but that is the nicest term I can think of to describe
the man who made your early life a living hell.
Peyton and I
intend to ensure that you have the best of everything from here on out, as do
Richard and Peter. We love you more than
we can ever describe."
Leon grabbed
Jaiden and pulled him into a very tight hug.
When they
returned to the bus, Leon's mom and Dad asked, "So, son, what did you think of
the door to your office?"
Leon didn't
say a word as he leaned in and hugged his mom and Dad – and as Peyton shed a
few "alligator tears," as people in south Alabama would say. Everyone knew about the surprise Leon was
just given.
Leon lost it
when they got to the airport, and the Judges and prosecutors from Tennessee
were there to see him off on his celebratory trip to the UK. He looked at those individuals and said,
"Guys, you didn't have to do this for me!"
The Judge
from Memphis said, "The hell we didn't; you earned our support in more ways
than we can express. And by the way, the
picture of you by your office door, an indestructible copy, will be printed on
metal, framed, and hung on the prison wall so your sperm donor will have to
look at it every day. We all hope it
will tear his guts up every time he glances at it - and he will glance at it
several times a day; the correctional officers will ensure that. And by the way, prison staff will ensure
there is no way the scumbag can ever contact you unless you request it."
"Judge, I
have a wonderful mom and dad now, and there is no way I will ever want to
contact that semblance of a man; NO WAY; never!"
"We know you
now have a wonderful family, Leon, and quite frankly, I am still pissed that
they adopted you before I could," said the Judge from Memphis.
After
everybody who wasn't going on the UK trip hugged those who were, everybody
headed to TSA for their security checks before boarding their plane to the UK.
As everyone
neared TSA with the ten children, all six years old, Charley heard a TSA agent
say, "Oh, SHIT, the flight crew is going to have a duck fit!" Once the TSA
agent had the flight number, he called the gate to have them warn the flight
crew about what was about to happen. The
gate manager alerted the Chief Stewardess that ten six-year-old children were
on their way to board the flight to England.
The Chief Stewardess turned very pale when told
about the children. She informed the
other flight staff that they were about to have a major surprise and to watch
the jet bridge.
As everyone
was walking down the jet bridge, the excited children in front of everyone, one
of the stewardesses said, "Oh My God, I quit!"
Another
stewardess said she was not in the mood to have ten young children on the
flight at the risk of them being total brats who would be disrupting the other
passengers. Little did they know that
the children would be more behaved than the adults.
As the
children entered the jet, they were each handed a card in an envelope and told
to give one to each flight attendant but not to give them all to one stewardess.
As they
boarded the jet, they did as instructed but added
something of their own as they handed the cards out: each flight attendant who got a gift card was
told by each child that they were good children and would behave appropriately
on the flight.
When the
flight attendants opened their cards, there was a $50 gift certificate in each
card so the flight staff could do something nice for themselves on their
arrival in the UK. Not one stewardess
had a dry eye as they went to, thanked, and hugged each child before
congratulating each parent for having the most courteous, loving children they
had ever met. True to their word, the
children never acted up during the flight to England, which amazed the crew.
When they
arrived in the UK, the pilots gave each child a tour of the cockpit, a pair of
flight wings, and a big hug, not to mention a trip to the ice cream shop in the
terminal.
Every
passenger who had traveled and sat around the children complimented the parents
on how well the children behaved and said they hoped they could fly together on
their return trip.
Finally, one
of those passengers was the Chief Editor of the London Times. When the children and their parents exited
the jet at London's Heathrow Airport, photographers were standing by to take
pictures of the children with their parents and grandparents – along with an
amazing flight crew. Even executives of
United Airlines were on hand to reward the children for being so good during
the flight.
The next morning,
there was a knock on Jaiden's and Peyton's hotel room
door. A concierge handed them a copy of
the London Times and said, "Gentlemen, you may be very interested in the
paper's front page." Jaiden tried to tip the concierge for bringing him the paper,
but the young man told Jaiden, "No sir, I can't accept a tip for this; it is
indeed my pleasure to ensure you see the story."
The
concierge left the room, and Jaiden opened the paper to the front page and sat
down and cried when he saw the picture on the front page and read the wonderful
story about ten amazing six-year-old children who flew from the US to the UK
without making so much as a peep.
Charlie and Dale also got a copy of the paper, and they, too, cried at
the description of their wonderful, problem-free children.
The story
written was long and positive, so much so that a BBC television crew met the
adults in the lobby and requested that they be allowed to tag along on the
family's visit to the UK.
The first
thing the big family did the next morning was tour the synagogue Peggy attended
as a child while her dad was the chief Rabbi.
Every night,
it didn't matter what they did during the day; there was an amazing story about
the children and their parents and grandparents on the BBC's evening news. When the family exited the synagogue after
the Shabbat service, all the guy's friends from Fox News were outside to
interview everyone for a story to air back in the States.
After
Shabbat services, the large family group went to get British Fish and chips for
lunch. They entered the restaurant to
thunderous applause and cheers for their wonderful children.
That night,
Charlie remembered Chuck had something to say to a TSA agent who made a snide
comment about the children flying on such a long trip. He asked his son what he said to the TSA
agent, and Chuck told his dad that he told the agent they were and would always
be good children, to which the TSA agent said, "Yeah, right!"
"No children
flying on long-haul flights are good."
When he said that, Chuck looked at him and said, "Screw you, we are!"
The agent was taken aback and didn't reply to Chuck's comment, but he did
notice Nathan Robert, who, with great enthusiasm, flipped him off. When Charlie heard what happened, he told his
son he shouldn't do that and to not do it again. Chuck said, "Daddy, he said some bad things
about you and my brothers and sister, and I wasn't gonna let him get away with
that." Charlie thought, "Damn, ya just gotta love
these children."
Charlie told
Dale, Jaiden, and Peyton what happened.
Jaiden said,
"Good for Chuck and Nathan Robert; that bastard got
what he deserved. I bet he'll watch his
mouth from now on!"
Peyton
asked, "Jaiden, don't you think the boys went overboard on their response to
the TSA agent?"
"Peyton,
think for a minute. What do you think
Chuck and Nathan Robert might have said to that man?"
"Yep, you're
right. Their response was very
controlled. Chuck might have said "fuck
you" to that man." "Peyton, if he
didn't, there is a good chance Nathan Robert would have. Charlie talked to the boys, so let's let it
go."
"Agreed, my
love!"
