Greg Patrick Jaiden was sitting on the couch in the living room after the children had gone to bed for the night. Peyton walked into the room, noticed Jaiden seemed deep in thought, and asked him what he was thinking. Jaiden didn't look us as he answered, "Us." "What do you mean, Jaiden?" "I mean I am thinking of us: how we live, how we interact, how we show we care; all of the things that go into a relationship." That is when Jaiden looked up and into Peyton's eyes and offered a gentle smile. "Jade, care to share those thoughts?" "Nope, but I will," he said as he offered up a wicked looking grin. "I hope that grin means something good, Jaiden!" "Peyton, take your top shirt off and leave your t-shirt on. Now, take your pants off and sit on my lap." Since the two were in the den alone, Peyton did as Jaiden asked. "OK, Jaiden, now tell me what you were thinking." Babe, I was thinking that if you took off your shirt, and took your pants off, and sat across my lap, I could do this." Jaiden slid his hand under Peyton's t-shirt and began softly rubbing his chest and stomach. It wasn't long before Peyton was sporting a larger bulge in the front of his briefs and wishing that Jaiden would give him some relief from the sexual tension building in his groin; Jaiden didn't. He continued rubbing Peyton's chest and stomach as he began to say: "I was thinking about the principles we live by and how much happier others would be if they did the same." "The one thing we have never forgotten is that no matter how bad things get, no matter how angry we may get, we are always family, and we protect that above anything else. Because we stress family, we are able to accept each other no matter what. We don't argue about anything; if we can't discuss something rationally and peacefully, we let it go until we can. If we can't resolve our differences, we let whatever it is go." We base our family on the concept of love, and that is what keeps us going and close to each other. As young as our boys and Dale's and Charley's children are, they have learned the concept of family well, and I couldn't be prouder of them -- or us. Look how far Dale and Charley have come in their relationship focusing on that one principle alone." "The way Dale and Charley started off, that argument they had at Wellstone that got us intimately involved in their lives, we somehow taught them the concept of forgiveness. I hate to think what would have happened had they not learned that lesson. If they had not learned that, where would you and I be today? Would we have our boys? Would Dale and Charley have their boys and daughter?" "If we had decided to exclude them from our lives after the fiasco at Wellstone, would we be as happy as we are? Would we have our children, and would our children be as well-adjusted and happy as they are. I really don't want to know the answer to that question. I think inclusion was a major key to the happiness we all share." If we had not accepted them as they are .... If we had not accepted each other as we are .... If we all had not practiced inclusion from the get-go, would we be where we are today?" Peyton said, "Probably not, but it was you who pushed those attributes more than anybody else, including me." "Peyton, where do you think I learned to embrace those principles?" "I figured that it was mostly from your mom, and perhaps the people from your home temple who were in your life as you grew up." "Maybe so, but you know I tend to keep my mouth shut and observe the people I am around and to learn something positive from each person I meet. Most every principle I mentioned about family, acceptance, love, forgiveness, and inclusion, I learned from your family and from you. I got involved in the fracas between Charley and Dale because you did. Your eyes told me exactly what to do, what to say, and I did both." Jaiden leaned over and lovingly and softly kissed Peyton on the lips. Peyton had his eyes closed, so he didn't see the tears that had formed in Jaiden's eyes. What he did notice was the warm, wet drop that dropped onto his face, and he tasted a salty taste to it and knew instantly that it was a tear from the person he loved more than life itself. He leaned up to Jaiden and returned the kiss he had received from his husband. It was quiet in the den, and the lights were dimmed very lowly as Jaiden said, "Babe, put your left hand under my left thigh and your right hand around my waist." Peyton did what Jaiden told him to do and Jaiden put enough weight on Peyton's hands that he couldn't move them from where they were and then said, "Peyton, babe, I hope you enjoy this." Jaiden pushed the front of Peyton's briefs over each of his hips exposing the front of his nether region. He reached down and softly took Peyton in his hand and began very slowly massaging him up and down, applying different pressures as he did so. He knew the spots that were tender and intense for Peyton and he made sure to hit each one as he moved his hand up and down on his lover. Peyton was squirming more than normal at Jaiden's attention, but there was nothing he could do to reduce the touch that had become immeasurably intense for him causing him to arch his back, throw his head back, and strain his body to its max: Jaiden had him pinned down. He couldn't enjoy more what Jaiden was doing to him if he tried. Jaiden's movements were calculated to deliver that max pleasure that was possible and he didn't let that pleasure wane -- it was constant! About fifteen minutes after Jaiden began doing his best to send Peyton into a Utopian dream, Peyton stiffened his body and began shooting copious amounts of love nectar all over himself, all over Jaiden, and to some extent, on the wall behind the couch they were sitting on. When Peyton regained his breath, he gave Jaiden a long, tender kiss. When they broke their embrace, Peyton told Jaiden he needed to go to the kitchen for a moment. "What for, Peyton?" "To get some wet and dry paper towels to clean us off -- and to clean the wall behind the couch." Jaiden looked back at the wall behind the couch and said, "Wow! Was it that intense love?" Peyton replied, "Babe, it was that intense and more. I enjoyed that -- A LOT!!! When they had cleaned what needed to be cleaned, Jaiden held Peyton in his lap until they both fell asleep on the couch. Neither young man moved until Dale came through the den headed to the kitchen to make some coffee. He looked at Peyton and Jaiden and somehow knew what had occurred. He didn't wake them until he placed a cup of coffee for each, the way they liked their coffee, in front of them. Jaiden. Peyton. Wake up, I made you some coffee. Jaiden and Peyton woke up and rubbed the sleepiness from their eyes as they looked at Dale and said, "Thanks, bro." "You're welcome, guys. Whatever happened, I have not seen you two look this relaxed in a long time. It's nice to see you looking so relaxed for a change." That said, Dale disappeared upstairs with a cup of coffee for himself and for Charley. Charley asked Dale what took him so long, and Dale told him Jaiden and Peyton were cuddling on the couch. He said Jaiden was still dressed, but that Peyton was in a t-shirt and his briefs and looked amazingly relaxed in Jaiden's lap. Charley laughed and said he could probably tell Dale why Peyton was so relaxed. "I think I know why, Charley, there was a slight smell of ammonia in the air." Charley shook his head and laughed as he replied, "Well, now I know for sure!" Charley and Dale were watching a movie in their bedroom, and when they finished their coffee, Charley went downstairs to get each another cup of java. Charley noticed that Jaiden was stretched out on the couch lying on his left side, his pants and briefs at his knees and Peyton on the floor in front of him giving him a BJ that was sending Jaiden into orbit. "Damn, guys, get a room!" Jaiden said they had a room and it was the den. Then he asked Charley, "What's wrong, bro? You've seen us having fun before, you jealous or something?" Charley died laughing as he shook his head and continued up the stairs going back to his and Dale's bedroom. Dale asked, "What were you talking about in the Den, love?" "Nothing, Dale. Jaiden was stretched out on the couch with his pants and briefs at his knees, and Peyton was going at it." "Keep talking, Charley, I'm getting horny!" "Oh, my goodness, Dale, I have a really bad headache." "Bullshit, Charley, get your hot self over here and cuddle up close to me. If it weren't late and we didn't have to work tomorrow, I'd give you a run for your money!" "Keep that thought, Dale. It's Wednesday .... but Friday is coming!" You could see the wheels start turning in Dale's and Charley's minds! The next morning before Jaiden and Peyton went to their office, Peyton's dad called about their pending trip to Stockholm, Sweden, for the Nobel award. The dates of the trip and the award ceremony have been nailed down, and Jaiden and Peyton have the dates they needed to plan their trip. They would discuss the trip with Richard, Peter, and Leon when they got to the office. When they got to work, they were approached by Richard, Peter, and Leon. It seems their dad had called them as well. This trip to Stockholm was going to be one everybody would remember -- especially the children. "Richard, what do you think the boys and Alaina Noelle would like to do in Stockholm?" "Peyton, there is always the river boat tours; all the children would love to take a tour of Stockholm on a boat. And then there is the museum about old-time Sweden with an old-fashioned clipper ship. I know all the children would love the chance to climb all over that boat if it's permitted." "And don't forget how the boys love to eat. A food tour of Stockholm would be right up their alley." "That is true, and to be perfectly honest, it would be up my alley too. I loved the food last time we were there." "Peyton, I think the children would also like to ride on the top of one of the double-decker busses, letting the wind blow through their hair as they take in everything their little minds can think of." "Guys, have y'all thought of the zoo for the children, or the aquarium? And there is the amusement park, Gröna Lund. I think we'll find plenty of things to do with the children once we get to Stockholm. If we don't, I am sure your mom and dad will know of more things they can do with the children than we could possibly think of." "You're right, Jaiden; Dad will make sure the children are entertained." "So true, Leon." The office quickly filled with patients, so the guys got to work. Richard's first patient was now in remission, so when he left the office, he got to ring the remission bell. Everybody clapped, yelled in support of and congratulated the little boy. Talk about starting off a day in the most positive way. Over at Charlie's and Dale's office, Dale couldn't forget about what Charley said about the day before being Wednesday, and that Friday was coming. He walked around with the biggest smile on his face all day long. His secretary commented on his great mood and asked what had him so happy. Dale told her he would never tell that secret. How could he tell her that he and Charley were going to have unbridled sex come Friday night? And talking about personal relationships, the ladies at Jaiden's office corralled him in the front office to have a "talk" with him. "Dr. Jaiden, we have been concerned that you, Dr. Peyton, Dr. Peter, and Dr. Leon were trying to be too conservative around the office when it comes to showing your love for your husbands. Why don't you ever kiss Dr. Peyton in the office? That is not going to bother us in the least. We know you have wanted to do that at times when everything was going right, and we think you should have." "Ladies, thanks for letting me know how you feel about our showing affection in the office. We haven't done that because we didn't want to offend anybody. While it may sometimes happen in front of the three of you, we won't do it in front of the patients for obvious reasons." About that time, Peyton walked into the front office and asked, "We won't do what for obvious reasons?" Jaiden replied, "this," as he put his hand on Peyton's neck and pulled him in for a kiss. Peyton's face turned several shades of red as he looked at Jaiden and wondered why he'd kissed him in front of the ladies. His question was answered when one of the ladies said it was about time that they were more comfortable showing affection to each other around the office. That Peyton's mind was blown would be an understatement. Just after lunch, Richard took a call from the school. His oldest son, and several of the younger nephews had been to the nurse's office for what she thinks is strep throat. Ginny and Granny took the van to the school, picked up the children, and took them to see Richard at his office. Jaiden and Peyton were surprised to see two of their boys coming into the office with Andrew. "Hi, guys, why are you at Daddy's office?" "Daddy, we have a sore throat and the nurse called and talked to Uncle Richard and he told her that Ginny and Granny would bring us to your office so he could check us." Richard walked out of an exam room, saw his son and his nephews and took them into an exam room. He did a good examination of each of the boys and said, "Yep, you boys have strep! You won't be going to school for a couple of days until you get better." Nathan Robert looked horrified because he knew it meant they would be getting a shot. And since the shots were already prepared, Richard didn't say a word about them. He looked at Nathan's arm and said, "Let me see that rash on your arm." Nathan Robert pulled up his shirt sleeve and let Richard look at his arm. Cartoons were on the tv in the exam room to occupy the boy's minds while Richard did what he had to do, mainly give them a shot. While he "examined" Nathan Robert's arm, he talked to him about what the cartoon character was doing and how funny the character was -- as he gave Nathan Robert his shot. When he told Nathan Robert he could hop down off the table, his nephew asked him if he was going to give him a shot, and Richard told Nathan to let him think about it. Jaiden took Nathan Robert to his office so Richard could give the other two boys their shots without Nathan tipping them off. He gave Abraham his shot, and the boy never knew he got it, and Andrew, he was old enough that the shot didn't bother him. When it was time to go home, Andrew gave his dad a hug, told him he loved him, and thanked him for helping him with his sore throat. Needless to say, Richard melted at how sweet his son was and counted the blessings of having that boy as his son. Jaiden told Andrew that he would be staying at his house until he got better so he wouldn't give his younger brother the strep virus. That excited Jaiden's boys to no end, because it meant that they would get to sleep together in the big bed downstairs. That wasn't an issue that the dads would have to tackle. Richard called Sally and told her what was going on, and she wasn't keen on the idea of someone else helping her son instead of her doing it. Andrew was her son, she was his mother, and it was her responsibility to take care of her children when they were sick. However, she relented to Richard's wisdom and agreed to her son staying at Jaiden's for a night or two until he got better. She just didn't tell Richard that he would be keeping little Peyton at night while she, too, stayed at Jaiden's and Peyton's to take care of her son -- and that is exactly what she did - and Richard knew better than to try and argue with her about doing that. The next day, all three boys were feeling better since the shot each got was doing its job. The one thing that neither boy was happy about was that Sally made them do their school work with her helping them learn what the teacher was presenting in class. When Sally went into the kitchen to get the boys something to drink to help flush out their systems, she got a chuckle when she heard Nathan Robert tell Andrew that "Aunt Sally is an awesome teacher." She couldn't wait to tell the dads what Nathan Robert said. That one comment put her on top of the world for the entire day. The smile she had never left her face. Sally wondered what she could do to reward the boys for being so good and for being attentive to their school work. And then it hit her: bundle them up and let them go outside and play for a little while. She was dumbfounded when all three boys asked her if it was OK if they read their books instead of going outside. Happily surprised at their desire to read, she said that they could read their books if that is what they wanted to do. Thirty minutes later, all three boys were fast asleep. Sally carried the youngest boys to the bedroom and lay them in the bed. Andrew, being too big for her to carry, begrudgingly walked to the bedroom and went to bed. Sally checked on the boys a little later and they were sweating profusely. She knew that was a good sign because it meant that the virus had broken and was working its way out of their bodies. She went back to the den and settled down to read her book. An hour later she woke up when Ginny and Granny brought the rest of the children into the house when they got off their school bus. Sally said, "Hi guys, how are you today?" The only thing that came out of their mouths was, "are my brothers, and my cousin, OK?" Sally hugged her nephews and niece and assured them their cousin and brothers were doing well and were asleep. Then she got up to help Ginny and Granny fix the children's afternoon snacks they always had when they got home from school. Sally was again surprised when the boys finished their snacks and settled into a seat in the den to read their favorite books instead of going outside to play. She wondered why they didn't want to go outside, so she asked the boys and was told there was a funny smell outside. That alarmed Sally, and more than peaked Ginny's interest. Ginny started to stick her head out the French doors when she saw a small bear in the back yard and said, "I don't know how we are going to stop this, but we have to do something. She got the pistol, went onto the deck and fired three shots into the ground. That little bear made it back over the back fence in one leap. Then she called Jaiden at the office to tell him what had happened. Within and hour, a fence company was at the house installing a ten-foot fence with razor wire around the top. Additionally, they installed infrared sensors that would detect bears being around the back of the fence and spray a pepper spray to deter the bears from getting too close to the back yard and the children. That seemed to solve their problem with the bears given that there were no more instances of bears trying to get into the back garden where the children played -- at least not for quite a while. Jaiden and Peyton checked out the fence when they got home and liked the work the company had done for them. Jaiden, however, decided to get a ladder and look over the back of the fence and survey the wooded area to see if any bears were in the vicinity. What Jaiden saw broke his heart. There was a momma bear lying dead at the edge of the wood line with two incredibly small cubs at her side. He had to do something. Jaiden called the Rabbi and got permission to enter the field behind the houses via the Rabbi's yard. When he went to do that, Peyton stood guard with the rifle and the Rabbi and Jaiden picked up the two little bear cubs and took them into his back yard. Since the cubs were maybe a month or two old at the most, Jaiden let the children come outside and pet them. Chuck commented how their mouths looked like a dog's mouth -- snout and all. Jaiden had never paid attention to that feature of the bears and was astounded that Chuck would notice something like that. The little bears were having a blast playing with the children who were feeding them pieces of fruit that Ginny and Granny prepared for them. Jaiden used the time the children were playing with the cubs to teach them that as the bears got older, they would have to be taken to the other side of the mountain because as they got big, they might be too dangerous for people to be around them. Strangely, the children understood and were OK with that. Jaiden got some straw from the hardware store and made the bear cubs a bed inside the shed where he'd placed a heat lamp to help keep the cubs warm. He also got some food the forest ranger suggested for the cubs to eat. Normally the rangers would pick up the cubs and take them to a rehab facility, but they didn't want to invoke the ire of Judge Stanislauski; nobody wanted to do that. The next morning, Jaiden got breakfast ready for the cubs with some replacement milk that the cubs wouldn't be able to get from their mom. He took the food outside and let the children help feed the cubs. It was always strange to Jaiden that the one thing none of the children ever did was shirk responsibility. The dads were blessed by their children in that regard. That afternoon after Jaiden and Peyton got home from work, the forest rangers came out to check on the cubs and congratulated Jaiden and children on a job well done. They said the cubs could stay at Jaiden's for at least a month before they were big enough to need to be taken to the rehab facility. The children were concerned about that move and asked the rangers if they would be able to visit with the cubs at the rehab house; the rangers assured them they would be able to do that. Satisfied that "their" bear cubs were going to be OK, the children sat on the ground and wrestled with the cubs while the rangers and the dads looked on and laughed at the fun the children and bears were having. That made Jaiden think that when it came time for the bears to be released into the wild, that human interaction may make it too dangerous for the bears to be on their own. He decided to try and find a zoo or wild animal safari where the animals would be safe for the rest of their lives. Jaiden was surprised to find out that there was a wild animal zoo in Erie that would be willing to take the bears into their facility, so he contacted the zoo and made arrangements for them to pick up the bears and rehome them in their permanent forever home, a home where the children could always see the bears and perhaps interact with them if the bears indicated they wanted to do that. One thing was for sure, the bears knew the children loved them by the way they cared for and played with the cubs. That next Wednesday, the zoo went to Jaiden's, got the cubs, and took them back to the zoo's bear habitat. That weekend the children paid their first visit to their little furry friends who were eager to play with the children. When the visit with the cubs ended, the children all piled into the van and the family headed to Tony's for dinner. When the family got to the restaurant, the children were busting at the seams to get inside and tell Phil about the bear cubs. Normally the children would get pizza to eat, but tonight they wanted and got spusketti. They were almost too excited to eat as they were telling Phil how their daddy got the little bear cubs and kept them at home for a month and then took them to the zoo where they could see the bears anytime they wanted to. The children finally finished their dinner and got ice cream for dessert, and gave Phil some time to talk with their dads. That night, Jaiden and Peyton, et. Al., got a call from Tony wanting to know what the story was about the children having bear cubs in their backyard. Peyton and Jaiden told him the whole story and how they had rehomed the cubs to the Erie Zoo where the children could see them anytime they wanted to. Phil questioned whether or not the children would be cognizant of the dangers a big bear poses and Jaiden assured him the children were appropriately cautious. Even at the zoo, all the children wanted to see was the bear cubs they had played with. The big bears, the children wouldn't go near them. That thought gave Tony some relief about the safety of the children. The next afternoon after the dads got home, the doorbell rang and Jaiden looked out to see who was at the door. When he saw two television news trucks, he said, "OH, CRAP! PEYTON, COME TO THE LIVING ROOM! Peyton walked into the living room and asked what was so urgent. Jaiden told him to look out the picture window and when he did, he, too, said, "OH, CRAP!" Jaiden answered the door and it just so happened that the guys with the news crews were friends of his. They asked if they could come in and talk with him about the problems he'd been having with the bears. They came in and discussed the problem with bears coming up to and sometimes over the fence when the children were outside playing. That was something odd, because the Riley-Reynolds-Anderson-Leonard home was so near the city. The crew was interested to know what Jaiden did when he had to shoot a bear in the yard, and he told them the lady who raised him, and was raising the children in the home, was a pro at dressing out a bear, and that the meat didn't go to waste, that it was in their freezers to be eaten. Then it came time for the news crew to interview the children. All it took to get the story of the year in Erie was to ask the children about the bears. The kids were more than eager to tell their dad's friends about having the bear cubs in the back yard, about getting to play with them, and then how the little bears went to live at the zoo where they would be safe and where they could go see the bear cubs anytime they wanted to.
