All the guys got back to the house and ran upstairs to stash their duffle bags in their bedrooms. As they raced back downstairs, Mom Riley said, "Hi, did my favorite young men have a good time with your Dads?" "Seth ran to his Mom, hugged her tightly, and said, "Mom, we had the best time, but I really missed you. It's not the same when you aren't around."

"Son, I missed you, too, but it's good for dads and their sons to have some father-son time and for mom's and their daughters to do the same. When Jenny comes to Orange Beach, she and I take some time together and go shopping. When she has things she wants to talk about with me, we talk while we are shopping. That's the way she and I have fun together, and she gets to vent any frustrations she might have." "It's sort of like when Dad and I go to the beach and talk while we are walking; that's kind of a neat idea." "That's a good analogy, son; I'm proud of you for thinking that."

"Seth, what is your Mom cooking that smells so good?" "Peter, she is cooking some lamb shanks. It is like beef, but even better to me. Mom serves it with a mint jelly that is delicious. We usually have garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus with it. I think that is what Dad is outside cooking on the grill." "Seth, I've never had lamb before, I hope I like it." "You will, Peter, I promise. I never had it before the first time Mom cooked it for me; I ate so much Mom started laughing."

"Mom, did you feed the sheep and Peyton last night?" "I did, Seth." "Thanks, Mom. We're going to feed Peyton and the sheep right quick before dinner." "OK, Seth, you don't need to rush, son, you have plenty of time." "Yes, mam. Thanks."

"Come on guys. This time Alex can try to feed Peyton while we feed the sheep in the paddock."

The boys got to the barn and Seth got the feed for the sheep and put it next to the corral. Peter and David got the scoops to put the feed in the feed bins. Alex walked cautiously to Peyton to feed him his oats thinking the old mule might get upset, but he didn't. He treated Alex the same way he reacted to Peter the day before yesterday. The old mule was smart, he knew what the boys had endured back home, and he was protecting the boys like they were his.

Dad Riley looked on in wonderment since he had never seen the mule so docile around anyone. He, Don, Jay, and Jeremy couldn't believe what they were seeing. Don said that maybe he needed to tell the defendants before his bench that they needed to start acting like an old jackass.

Mom Riley had a small lamb shank for everyone, so she and Helen decided to prepare the deck table so the boys could eat outside and enjoy themselves. As they were on the deck putting the plates and utensils on the table, they took a moment to watch their boys playing with the lambs in the paddock. Helen said she didn't know when she had seen Jackson have so much fun, especially since the wreck and surgery, and it was the first time she has seen Alex, David, and Peter having so much fun with their brother and his friends. She mused to Helen that her life had been so much richer since the boys became their sons, and Jackson was immensely happier having brothers to play with and relate to.

Phyllis looked at Helen and noticed she seemed a million miles away with the gentlest smile she had seen. Jeremy was about to walk onto the deck when Phyllis motioned for him to stay inside. When Phyllis went into the kitchen, she told Jeremy to look at Helen. "Jeremy, have you ever seen Helen look so serene?" "No, Phyllis, I haven't. I am glad I didn't walk outside and stop whatever thoughts she was having, thank you for stopping me."

"Jeremy, she is so happy with your boys; I think they complete her in a different sort of way." "Phyllis, I have wondered about that. Those boys have certainly changed my life for the better. The members at the temple have accepted, and embraced those boys like they have always been a part of our lives. I knew the temple members were special people, but lately I have been learning just how special they are."

"The boys are enrolled in Hebrew classes and they are excelling in the program and enjoying what they are experiencing. When we get up to go to temple on Saturday mornings, they are up and ready before Helen and I can get out of bed. Friday nights, when I get home from work, they are ready to go to the Shabbat services. When I see them daven so intensely, I can't hold back my tears. The Rabbis have been so amazing in working with and talking to the boys."

"Jaiden and Peyton have had nothing but good to say about Rabbis Kravitz and Belson. When we sit and talk with them about their temple experiences with Dale and Charley, they get a dazed look in their eyes and the gentlest smiles on their faces. They love Temple Anshe Hesed, and they adore the members and friends they have made there."

"Jim and I talked about selling the practice and farm and getting a country home in the Erie area. But when Seth and Richard came to us, Seth has enjoyed being here so much that we have rethought our plans. If he stays in the area and works in Marine Biology and Diversity, we will probably let him buy the farm at a very good price he can afford. Jenny and Peyton and we have talked about that; they think it is a great idea. Peyton wants to stay in the Erie area with Jaiden and the boys, and Jenny loves Oregon and would be content to stay there – unless of course Ron could ever become the Rabbi at the temple."

"Phyllis, I think if Ron ever gets that chance, he will be an excellent fit for the temple. He has the intelligence, the drive, and the heart to continue what has been started there. Of course we are in no hurry for Rabbi Kravitz or Belson to leave, but if they get a chance to inherit a larger, more lucrative synagogue, I hope he will consider the opportunity; he is that good of a Rabbi."

"Jeremy, Ron's temple in Oregon has doubled in size since he has been the Rabbi there. I don't know if it is his sermons, his love for the people, or if they just love Jenny that much. That young lady is into everything with everybody; she dearly loves being a Rebbetzin."

"Phyllis, when Ron, Jenny, and their boys visited the temple during their last visit to Erie, the members loved them, so if the Rabbis move to a larger temple, and Ron wants the Rabbi's position, I don't think there will be a problem with him becoming our Rabbi." "Jeremy, that is nice to know, because I know he and Jenny are interested if the opportunity ever presents itself."

"Well, dinner is ready, so I need to ring the bell to get the boys to come in and wash up for dinner. Being boys, they'll probably complain a bit, but after playing with the lambs in the paddock, I guarantee they need a bath, not just a good handwashing."

When the boys came through the kitchen to go wash their hands for dinner, Jeremy looked at Helen and Phyllis and said, "my word, did you smell those boys?" Phyllis started laughing and said, "What did I tell y'all? There is a reason I wanted them to eat on the deck." "Gee whiz, Phyllis, I'm glad you knew to do that, those boys stink." "That they do, Jeremy, but if you asked them, they would say they smelled like they'd just had a bath." Helen laughed out loud at Phyllis's comment and said, "I guess I am going to have a lot to get used to." "Helen, with four boys, all I can say is, `get ready, life is going to be a lot of fun and experiences.'"

When the boys sat down to eat, Jackson and his brothers were a bit timid about tasting the lamb shank. When the Berkowitz boys tasted the lamb meat, "Peter said, "Man! You weren't kidding, Seth. This lamb is delicious." I told you guys, Mom doesn't cook anything that isn't good, NOTHING!"

"Seth didn't realize his Mom was standing behind him until she put her arms around him and kissed him on the cheek." "Thank you, son, that was a nice thing for you to say." Jackson, Alex, Peter, and David were almost doubled over in laughter because of how red Seth blushed. His Mom was holding in her laughter as she walked back into the house. When she told the adults how she made Seth blush, they all laughed.

The boys went to the den to watch some videos Seth's Mom had bought for them when the Moms went shopping. They watched two action-packed videos, and by the time the second video was over, the boys were having a hard time keeping their eyes open. They were headed upstairs when their Moms stopped them and told them to take a shower before they went to bed. They wanted to whine about having a shower, but knew it wouldn't work, so they showered, together, two at a time. Alex and David, Jackson and Peter, and Seth and Jeremy.

Seth and Jeremy rekindled their relationship while in the shower, and explored each other's bodies. They didn't risk doing anything risqué for fear of getting caught by Jackson and his brothers if they walked into the bathroom. They did, however, engage in mutual masturbation. When Seth rubbed one out for Jeremy, Jeremy's knees went weak, and he had to sit on the edge of the tub. When he regained his strength, he began to give to Seth what he had just received. When Seth began to climax, he grabbed and held onto Jeremy until he was able to catch his breath. They shared a kiss like they did back in Erie while Seth was staying with Richard at Jaiden's and Peyton's.

Since the beds were large California king beds, Jackson and his brothers decided to share a bed. That left Seth's bed for him and Jeremy. They locked the door on their side of the bathroom, but they didn't lock the door to the hallway because Seth's parents wouldn't mind if he slept naked with Jeremy; and that is precisely what they did. Seth was more comfortable than he had been in a long time as Jeremy snuggled up to him. They awoke early Saturday morning and dressed before they got caught sleeping in the buff.

All the boys met downstairs in the dining room for breakfast. When everybody finished eating, they piled into the van, and a couple of cars, and headed to the temple in Orange Beach. Rabbi Schlottman welcomed all the families to the temple and said he hoped they enjoyed the services.

After services, everybody headed for lunch at the seafood shack on the beach. Seth was ecstatic that they were eating at his favorite restaurant – and that there was a lunch buffet on Saturdays. By the time he got home, he was so full he needed to nap for a while. All the boys went upstairs and took a nap for a couple of hours while Seth's Dad went to his clinic to take care of animals that were boarding and any emergency cases that came in that morning. Luckily, there weren't any emergencies among his regular animal patients, so the clinic closed on time and Dad was home early.

When he got home, the boys were outside feeding the animals and giving Peyton some extra attention – and a few apples, Peyton's favorite treat. When the boys had fed Peyton all the apples they had, they hugged the old mule and he ran his face against the boys faces as if to tell them he loved them too.

Seth grabbed some fishing poles and went to the worm bed and got a quart of worms to take down to the lake. When they got near the lake, Seth noticed something unusual in the water. He looked at the other guys and told them to run back to the house. When they got to the house, they all were out of breath as Seth went inside and told his Dad there was an alligator in the pond. Dad Riley got in his truck and headed to the lake to see the alligator since there had never been one in the lake before. Sure enough, there was an alligator in the pond, and he was very large.

Dad Riley rode back up to the house and called the squad in the county that was responsible for catching and relocating gators to a more suitable environment. It took a couple of hours to catch the gator, but the boys and their parents had a great time watching the professionals do what they do best: catch gators.

When they finally caught the gator, he was eight feet long and almost three feet wide. They got him on shore and taped his mouth so he could be transported to his new marsh home. The gator was fighting hard, so Dad Riley told the gator catchers to hold him while he gave the gator a mild tranquilizer shot to calm him.

As soon as the shot had time to course through the gators body, he relaxed and went to sleep. He gave the gator-catchers an antidote to the sedative and showed them how to inject it just before they untied him and un-taped his mouth to let him go. Within a minute of getting the antidote, the gator began to awaken and jumped out of the back of the truck and headed for the marsh.

A successful catch and release, and happiness that the gator didn't have to be put down due to being a danger to the boys. He could have easily grabbed one of the boys as they sat next to the water fishing.

Dad laid down some new rules about fishing in the pond, namely that he had to be with Seth anytime he wanted to go fishing. Dad had a rifle strong enough to do the job if he had to shoot a gator. He didn't trust the pond anymore, and wouldn't for a long time – if ever.

Seth texted Richard and asked him to call him when he wasn't at work. There was a lull in business in the ER, so Richard called Seth as soon as he received the text. When Seth told Richard about the gator in the pond, Richard turned white. Peyton was standing there and asked Richard if he was OK.

Richard looked at Peyton and said, "Seth and the boys went to the lake to go fishing, and when they got near the lake, Seth saw a large gator. They ran back to the house, and Dad drove down to the lake to make sure the boys really did see a gator. Dad saw him, and called the DNR guys to come out to get the gator out of the pond."

"It took a couple of hours to catch him, and when they did, he was eight feet long and three feet wide. I hate to think what could have happened if Seth had not seen him, and the boys sat at the edge of the lake to fish. Dad told Seth that from now on, if he wanted to go fishing, Dad has to be with him." When Peyton heard what had gone on at the farm, he had to sit down. "Peyton, Dad said the gator fought so hard after they taped his mouth that Dad had to tranquilize him so he could be safely transported."

Since Richard and Peyton swapped out with Jaiden at seven, Richard called Seth as soon as he got home. He put his phone on speaker mode so he and Peyton could talk to Seth together. Seth was so excited when he told Peyton and Richard about getting to sleep two nights on the USS Alabama. Peyton said, "Seth, you're kidding. I lived there all my life and I have never gotten to sleep on that ship. Seth felt so special at that point, which was Peyton's intent when he said what he did. Peyton and Richard talked to Seth for almost an hour before they hung up.

A few minutes after they hung up, Jenny called Richard and Peyton. While they were talking, Peyton said, "Jenny, hold on a minute. Three of the boys are running toward the Rabbi's house and I have got to catch them." When Peyton came back to the phone, Richard was about to die laughing at him. Jenny asked, "Peyton, what do you mean the boys were running toward the Rabbi's house?" "Jenny, Dad hasn't shown you the video I texted him?" "No, why?" "The boys are walking and running at seven-months-old." "Peyton, you have got to be kidding me; walking and running at seven-months-old?" "Yes, and I am running out of energy."

"They are so funny, but the sad thing about the boys is that they have a major problem." Jenny sounded worried when she asked what kind of problem the boys had. "Jenny, all five of the boys have your sense of humor and your penchant to play jokes on people, and it is on twenty-four hours a day!" Jenny started laughing so hard she was coughing. "Peyton, that is too funny. Do you mind if I tell Jennifer, Marty, and Angie?" "Not at all, Jenny. Get Dad to send you a copy of the text and send it to the ladies. They should get a kick out of seeing that." "I will, Peyton. I love you two and I will talk to you during the week. I am sure the three ladies will call you about the video."

Jenny walked into the living room looking angry; she wasn't, she just wanted to get her Dad started. "Dad, I have a bone to pick with you. I just found out you have kept something from me, and I am not happy about it!" All the adults in the living room looked alarmed, especially Mom.

"Jenny, what are you upset about?" "You have a video of the babies, and you didn't show it to me." Phyllis looked at Jim and said, "Video? Of the babies, and you didn't show it to me!" Jim said, "Oh crap, I'm in trouble now. I am sorry, I forgot. We were on the ship when Peyton sent it to me."

Dad connected his cell phone to the television via Bluetooth so everybody could see the video as he played it for Phyllis and Jenny. When they saw the babies walking and running in the den, everybody howled as Phyllis said, "Peyton is finally getting repaid for all the chasing I had to do."

Jenny said, "Mom, that is not all. Peyton said all five boys have a problem he was having to work on." "What sort of problem, Jenny?" "Peyton said all five boys have my sense of humor and my penchant to pull jokes on people and it was on twenty-four hours a day."

Ron put his hand to his head and said, "Hashem, please tell me that is not the case. I would never in a million years wish that on Peyton and Jaiden." That comment drew the largest amount of laughter yet. Dad Riley said, "I told that boy that was going to happen when he told me they were having five sons. And it isn't just Peyton's and Jaiden's boys, all five of Charley's and Dale's children are doing the same thing. Dale and Chuck started laughing when I showed them the video while we were on the ship."

Don asked, "Jim, doesn't that mean your grandbabies are about five months ahead of schedule on normal growth and activities?" "It does, Don, but it is going to be fun to see how Peyton and Jaiden deal with that." "I'm sure it is, Jim, I'm sure it is, and I bet you are going to have a good time ribbing them on what they are going to experience in the months ahead!"

Dad Riley noticed the boys had gotten very quiet, so he went to check on them in the den. He went back to the living room and said, "the boys must have played so hard they tired themselves out. They're all asleep on the couch."

Sunday was a rather sad day for Dad, Mom, and Seth because they had to take the Rothstein family to the airport to head back to Oregon. Though they are the same age, Seth hugged his nephews Nathan, Ben, and Michael Peter as they said their good byes and headed for TSA before flying home. Seth was a bit melancholy because he had enjoyed the company. What made it worse for him was seeing Jeremy, Don, and Jay head home as well.

Dad turned toward Seth, who was now as tall as his Dad, and saw the saddest red eyes he had seen in a long time. He put his arm around Seth, and said, "Son, I understand. I hate to see them go, too. Your Mom and I had such a good time watching you have fun with your nephews, Jeremy, and Jessie." Seth didn't say a word as a tear trickled from his eye.

Seth, and his Mom and Dad, headed for the car. When they got to the carousels where luggage is retrieved, Seth stopped abruptly, turned to his Dad, and said, "Dad, thank you for taking us and letting us stay on the ship. That was so much fun, and I enjoyed being with the guys. We all talked and they said it was the most fun thing they had ever done. They loved the seafood restaurant as much as Peyton and I do. Even though we couldn't get in the water at the beach because of the sharks, Jeremy said he enjoyed seeing all the ocean life on the beach. We really had a good time." Seth didn't say another word until they were in the car and headed home.

"Mom, the guys had such a good time playing with the lambs, and they all loved Peyton and he loved them. But you know what they talked about the most?" "What was that, Seth?" "The lamb shanks. They never had them before and said they were so good. They said they would ask their Moms if they would cook them sometime." Phyllis smiled. She was happy that the boys enjoyed her cooking so much. "Seth, thank you for some of the things you said about me to the boys. You were really sweet to say what you did." "Mom, all I did was tell the truth; you did all the hard work."

As the Riley clan was walking into the house, the telephone rang. Mom answered the phone and said, "Seth, it's for you."

"Hello, hey Jessie." "Seth, I had the best time with your nephews and Jeremy. It was nice to meet Jeremy after you told me so much about him. And Jackson, Alex, David, and Peter were awesome dudes. You wouldn't know they hadn't been brothers all their lives. They were a lot of fun to be around." "Jessie, they have always been like that.   They were like me though, they got beaten up so much before they were adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Berkowitz that they were never happy. I don't remember ever seeing them in Erie like they were here. They told me they understood why I was so happy here in Orange Beach. I wasn't very happy when I watched them get on a plane to fly back to Erie. I didn't realize how much I missed those guys."

"I think I could live back in Erie now that everything has calmed down, but I don't want to. I love our school, I love my teachers, and the friends I have made at school, and at the temple. What I love most, though, is Marine Biology and Bio-diversity. I really enjoy learning about both, and I can see myself getting a Ph.D. in both subjects and working in that field around the Gulf. It would also be so much fun to teach those subjects in a college somewhere. Since I have discovered the ocean, and I'm learning about everything that lives in it, I don't think I would be happy living anywhere else. The weather here is good until a hurricane comes through, and in Erie, it gets too cold. When I get cold now, my bones, that were broken, hurt."

"Seth, you and I could work together in Oceanography like Jaiden and Peyton working together in medicine." "Jessie, you're right, and that idea is going to make me work even harder to learn all I can about Marine Biology and Bio-diversity."

"Dad, may I talk to you about what you do at the clinic. Jessie and I were talking and he mentioned something that made me think about being a marine veterinarian."

"Marine Biology intrigues me greatly, but sometimes you find whales and sharks that are injured and need help, and then there are at least six species of sea lions, sea otters, dolphins, whales and other animals. I think I would enjoy helping them from a medical standpoint."

"I don't want to work in the area of the ring of fire in the Pacific Ocean, so working on the east coast and in the Gulf is the area I would enjoy most, but I would also love to work in areas around Australia and the Great Barrier Reef, and the islands off Australia's east coast. Even working in the UK is something I think I would like. Bio-diversity in Venice, Italy, would be interesting and fun to me. Everybody thinks Venice buildings were built and then the area flooded, but the buildings are actually built on pilings over the sea, and there are a lot of sea animals that live under those buildings. Cleaning up the water in that area and helping the sea life become healthier would be awesome."

"Son, I didn't realize you had studied so much about Marine Biology and Bio-diversity. Some of the stuff you mentioned I didn't learn until I was in college. Vet school is very hard, probably harder than what Peyton, Richard, and Jaiden experience at LECOM, but the more you learn now, the easier it will be for you later. So, yes, you can start working with me at the clinic on weekends and when you aren't in school. That's what Peyton did. Jaiden learned medicine from his Mom. I'll teach you what I know, and you can work off your experience in whatever you do in Marine Biology." "Thanks, Dad, I'm going to enjoy learning all I can.

"Hey, Richard. I talked to Dad tonight about working with him at the clinic, and he said I could. I want to become a veterinarian and work with ocean animals that have been hurt, and help to rehabilitate them. There are a lot of government clinics on the east and west coast where endangered animals are helped when they are sick or hurt, and I would like to be a vet in one of those clinics. Australia has a lot of oceanic clinics on their coasts, and then there are all the outlying islands where the work I want to do is done. I would love living in Hawaii or somewhere like that."

"Seth, you need to start studying hard now because veterinary school is harder than medical school, but you can do it, and I know it. When you see a real surgery in person, it is a lot different than seeing it on YouTube."

"What do you expect when you see your first surgery in Dad's clinic?" "I know I will see some blood, and I will see the insides of animals." "That is true, Seth, but let me ask you one question: when you are in a car, and the windows are rolled up, and locked by the driver, and somebody cuts a really stinking fart, do you like that smell?" "Richard, you did that to me, and you know I don't like it." "Seth, that is what the inside of a body smells like. Sometimes it isn't so bad, and sometimes it is so bad that if you don't use cotton balls with mentholated salve in your nose, you want to throw up."

"There is also a bad smell when you use an electronic scalpel to make the incision for surgery. That scalpel burns the skin and it doesn't smell very good." "Richard, that's something I will have to learn to handle. I won't like it, but I will handle it." "That's the right attitude, Seth."

"Richard, we had a lamb born at the farm last week, and Dad let me help pull the lamb out of its mamma. There was a lot of blood, and some things I had never seen before, but it was neat. I got to help the mama sheep clean the sac off the baby, and then hold the lamb for a few minutes to dry it off before I put him with his mom. That was so much fun. I think that is when I made up my mind about being a vet for ocean animals and working in an oceanic rehab center. I love studying Marine Biology and Marine Bio-diversity, and I want to help make a difference. The ocean is like a giant puzzle where you always find something different. Every time Dad and I go to the beach, I find something new to study. When we went to the beach last weekend with Jeremy, Don, and Jay, and Ron's sons, I got to see a gam of bull sharks swimming close to shore. We had to get out of the water because they attack more than other sharks, but they were so neat to watch. They stayed near shore all day, so we left early and went to the seafood restaurant Peyton and Jaiden like so much."

"Hey, Peyton! Seth is on the phone, and he just told me he and the guys went to your favorite seafood restaurant on the beach in Mobile. Are you jealous?" "Seth, Peyton just said, `damn, that lucky little brother,' so he is jealous. Isn't that funny?" "It is, Richard. Tell Peyton they had king crab legs on the buffet." "I will, Seth."

"I am happy you are having such a good time in Orange Beach." "I am, Richard, but when Jackson, Alex, David, and Peter came down, I realized how much I missed some of my friends. Having new friends here helps, and they get to come to the farm every weekend, and Mom cooks us all a really good meal. We all go to temple together on Saturday morning. Dad has started taking me to Shabbat services on Friday nights, and I really enjoy that. My friends go with me, and we learn a lot about davening for others and for ourselves."

"That is so awesome, Seth. I usually work at the hospital on Friday nights, so I don't get to go to Shabbat services very much, but the Rabbi helps me with that on Sundays during Hebrew school."

"Richard, I am almost finished with Hebrew school at the temple, and I am studying with Jessie for our Bar Mitzvah's. I hope you can come when I have mine." "Seth, nothing will stop me from seeing your Bar Mitzvah, even if I have to fly down and back in the same day." "I hope you get to spend some time with me here when you come down, I hope you don't have to fly back too soon." "I hope the same little bro, and so does Peyton and Jaiden. We are not going to miss your Bar Mitzvah."

"Richard, Mom just said dinner is ready, so I have to go wash up. I will talk to you later. I love you!" "I love you too, Seth."

When Richard hung up the phone, he leaned his head back, covered his face with his hands, and cried. He missed his little brother so badly, and he still feels so guilty that he couldn't protect Seth when he needed him most. He doesn't know if he will ever get over that guilt and forgive himself, but Sally and Peyton are trying to help him do that - and so is Jaiden.
