Margie felt a little light headed as she walked into the kitchen. There was so much going through her head at that moment, and all she could think of was how to get the truth out. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Jason laid in his bed with many questions going through his mind. The last time Randy came by, he asked him if he, in fact, tried to sleep with Ashley, and it dumbfounded him! With all of the needles and tubes that were in him, made his life a living hell. Everything that was going on with his body and the pain, Jason could not get what Randy had asked him out of his head and was pondering all the recent events through his mind. Jason thought that somehow Ashley had something to do with all of this, but he couldn't talk or do anything about it. Soon someone was making their way into Jason's room. He turned his head to the left and saw that it was the ICU nurse. Jason could not believe how young he looked. As he got closer, Jason realized that the nurse was a volunteer, due to the name tag that he had on, he knew this guy couldn't be an actual ICU nurse. Jason took note that this guy was very, very good looking. "Hey Jason, names Caleb. Good to see you again. I'll be helping you out today man and if you need anything just asked." Jason looks at him as if he didn't know who he was and also gave him "are you serious" kind of look as well. "Hahaha, wait sorry, 1st I go to Silver Steam High school, and I'm in my last year there. I run Cross Country and track as well and have raced you a lot. I've only beaten you once, and you've won the rest of the time we've ran." Caleb started to laugh as he finished speaking to Jason. Jason smiled and made a face of relief to let Caleb know that he remembered him and that his comment was, in fact, funny. Throughout the day, Caleb made frequent visits to Jason and kept him company. Caleb was handsome; Jason thought. He stood about 5"9 and looked to be weighing about 165 lbs, with a military dirty blond box square hair cut. He had grey eyes and what struck Jason is that every time Caleb would smile or laugh, he would shrug his shoulders and for some reason that made him look even more attractive and sexy to Jason. Caleb was HOT! As the days went by Jason seemed to be getting better, then one Saturday morning while Randy left Ashley at home, he went to visit Jason at the hospital. It had been about two weeks since Randy had last seen Jason. It was, in fact, that visit that he had asked Jason if he touched or tried to do some harm to Ashley. "Hey, what's the matter," Caleb asked as he was walking in the room "Nothing just thinking" "Well, it looks like your sad man, as if you just lost your best friend." It's not like that... Well, I don't know man." Jason said looking down at the bed, and tears started to form in his eyes as he remembered back to the last conversation he had with Randy. Caleb had walked over to Jason, sat on the bed and put his hand over his shoulders. "Do you want to talk about it buddy?" They have become good friends over the past couple weeks since Caleb had been assisting the doctors in Jason's therapy and recovery. He was doing this as an internship to become a Physical therapist. "Well, I'm not sure if it would be good to talk about what happen to me. There is just so much that happened, me and Randy need to have a conversation. I just don't think..." At that moment, Caleb got up and walked to the door and closed it. He came back to the bed and looked at a teary-eyed Jason and spoke. "I totally understand if you don't want to talk about it. But I want you to know that I'm here for you and will always be around to listen, even when the asshole won't." At first, Jason looked at Caleb confused and puzzled. Then he realized what he meant, but before he could say anything, Caleb spoke again. "I know you and Randy are best friends, but I haven't seen him up here more than twice. I don't understand that Jason! It just bugs me to see you so down about what happen and yes I know because the doctors filled me in on some stuff. I'm helping you through your therapy, so I had to know some of what happened." Jason looked down again and started to cry. Then Caleb took him by the face with both hands too calm him down. "It's ok Jason, as I told you before, anytime you need me or want to talk about what happened, I'm here." Jason looked at Caleb and dried his face. He then started to tell Caleb everything from the time his father died, till now. For some reason, this made Caleb look angry, and he felt sorry for Jason. Then he put his hand on Jason's left shoulder and continued to look at him showing that he cared. What happened next shocked Jason! Caleb moved in and kissed him on the lips and then his tongue entered Jason's mouth, and they kissed each other with such passion. "Hey Jay, figured I'd come and see you, been a while. How have..." At that moment, Randy walked into Jason's room. Caleb and Jason broke their kiss, and Jason couldn't help but look down at his bed nervously. Randy just stood there looking at Jason. It was a look of anger and shock plus disbelief all in one. Caleb just got up and tended to his duties as if nothing happened and as he finished he looked over at Jason. "I'll be seeing you tomorrow for our last therapy session ok, looks like the doctor will be releasing you sometime this week!" Then he walked over and gave him a bro hug and started walking out of the room. As he was leaving the room, he spoke to Randy and Randy gave a half smile and head gesture. And Caleb left. "Really?" Randy asked in a sarcastic annoyed manner. Then Jason looked up eye's still watering some. "What do you mean, really? You only came to see me twice since I've been here and to top it off; you practically accused me of trying to mess with that crazy bitch of a girl who tried to kill me." Jason had a lot of anger in his voice. "Dude she might be crazy, but you are the one who seems jealous that she even stayed with me and came over to my house. And by the way Ashley's having my kid as well just to let you know!" Randy seemed angry as well. Jason looked very surprised and dumbfounded at that news. Randy wasn't going to tell him like this and then he felt awful and was about to apologize. "What the hell do you mean she is having your kid?" "Well, yes we slept together that night she came over and surprised us. I didn't mean for that to happen but..." Jason slowly but surely with excruciating pain, got out of his bed and almost fell, and Randy came running over, but Jason pushed him away. Then he got a hold of the IV holder and started to walk to the door. "Let me help you," Randy asked? "No, I got it, and I think you should be leaving now and go see your future child's mother," Jason said wanting to cry. He started walking toward the door holding his stomach where Ashley cut him. "Please let me..." "Just go!" Jason said, and Randy could clearly see he was crying and didn't want to upset him more than he was all ready and decided to leave. When Randy was heading out the door, he saw Caleb standing at the nurse's station. He walked over to him and then asked what that kiss was all about. Caleb pulled Randy to one of the empty rooms. Then he looked him square in the eye with a stern look on his face and said. "Dude, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with you but, Jason is a great guy. You claim to be his best friend and I think it's more than that, and you only come to see him once maybe twice!" Caleb wasn't yelling at Randy just talking to him but in an aggressive low voice. "I know about everything and the time I have spent with Jason and seeing his family and even meeting some of yours, I can tell he would never do any fucking thing like that!" "Bro who the hell..." Randy started, but Caleb cut him off. "I'm going to tell you this once Randy, if you don't get your shit together and find the truth out, you will lose that guy and your friendship forever, and he WILL, find someone who will love him. Someone like me." Then, with that, Caleb left the room, and Randy just stood there looking lost and feeling very sad and lonely. He sat down, and sat back in the chair behind him lost in thought about everything that has happened. Then his phone rang. "Hello," Randy paused for a moment as he was listening to the other person on the phone speaks. "Why can't we talk now?" "Ok, mom, I'm on my way." Randy got up and made his way out of the hospital, but not before looking back one more time to see if he could see his best friend and hoping that he hasn't made a mistake in asking him that question. When Randy got home, he found his mother Margie sitting in a chair with a worried and angry look on her face. "Hey, mom what's the big hurry." "Randy I have been waiting too long and should have given you this a while ago." She reaches in her purse and pulled out a cell phone and handed it to Randy. "Oh, thanks, Ashley has been looking for that. She has been going crazy about this damn phone. She will be happy to have it now. "Well, I bet she was going crazy and that is only the beginning." Margie said this with an angry look on her face and her eyebrows raised. Randy looked confused. "Why don't you look at that text message that's on her phone? And why don't you read it out loud to me!" Randy opened the text and started to read. As he was reading the message back to his mother Ashley walked around the corner. (Ashley's cell phone text message, which Randy is reading out loud) "Hey girly, it's mom. Seems like we will hit it big! I know you're surprised as much as I am that that son of a bitch fag is going to live. The fact that your dumb ass ex-boyfriend believes that you would sleep with Jason blows my mind haha! I feel sorry somewhat though because he lost his father, but this will make us rich. I know he had to have a life insurance policy! YESSS! Well, we will be loaded once we get the money from the lawsuit you are pursuing on Jason and then we can plan a way for you to leave Randy. We planned the stabbing really well, so this will be easy enough to prepare the way for you to break it off with Randy and then hit him up for child support! Love you, mom!" After reading the message, Randy got light headed, frustrated, and angry and dumbfound at the same time. He looked up at his mom who was in tears after hearing Randy read what was on the text and then he look over at Ashley, who was all but stunned and looked panicked. "Randy, I can explain..." Randy stood up as Ashley began to walk toward him. He grabbed her in raging anger and started to scream at her. "What the fuck did you do! Why would you do that, I cared for you and tried to protect you! I even lied to the cops for you and stuck up for you in front of Jason asking him if he, in fact, he did do this to you! My mom let you stay in our home, and you treat us like this?!! You fucking whore!" "He did do this to me he did!" Ashley screams back. "You're hurting me!" Ashley screamed again. Then Margie got up and pulled Randy from Ashley in fear he would hurt her and the baby. "You want to stick with that story fine, but I assure you, you will never hurt him or his family again and you won't get one fucking cent out of it!" Randy screams. His mother has never seen him this mad. She was happy that the truth came out but was a little nervous at how angry Randy was. She thought he would snap anytime. But he didn't, and she calmed him down. "Ashley, I think it's best for you to pack up and leave." Ashley got her phone and stormed off to the room she had been living. She packed while Randy sat in the living area in tears thinking that he has just lost one of the most-important people in his life. A person that he loved but hasn't told and a person that he can see spending the rest of his life, Jason. As Ashley was leaving Randy stood and spoke. "I don't ever want to see you again, and this will get handled correctly. Oh, I will fight for custody of my child too." "Go to hell, and we will see who wins this battle!" Then she slammed the door and left. His mom smiled and turned her computer around to show that she had all the information from Ashley's cell phone just in case she tried to erase that message and went and gave a crying Randy a hug. He was sitting in the living area in a chair with his hands in his face crying. "What have I done mom; I may have lost my best friend. What have I done?" Well sweetie, I think Jason is more than your best friend, and I know you love him." Randy, all teary eyed looked up at his mother, wondering what she meant. "Sweetie, I understand and know about you too, and I am ok with it. You need him, and he needs you. If both of you really love each other, then there is nothing wrong with it." After a long talk with his mother, Randy decided he needed to go to the hospital and talk to Jason. It was one of the most nerve racking drives of Randy's life. When he got there, he found Caleb, explained everything and thanked him for their talk before and said he needed that wake up call. Afterwards, Caleb walked Randy to Jason's room and saw that Linda was there on her cell phone visiting her son. "Oh, hi Mrs. Linda, I can come back..." "No no, Randy I think you two need to talk, I need coffee anyhow." She got up and walked out of the room and telling Jason she will be back, and Randy noticed she was, of course, talking on the phone with his mother Margie. She then walked out of the room with Caleb and closed the door. Randy sat by Jason, who clearly had a sad, but somewhat angry look on his face, which he figured that it came from what he and his mom may have been discussing before he came in the room. He grabbed Jason's hand softly which was on the bed and looked him in the eye with such passion and affection. "Can I please explain myself to you and talk if it's ok? I just want to explain something's, and if you want to stop seeing me, it's ok. I just want to tell you what happened and not make any excuses." Jason took in a deep breath, closed his eyes, and released it. Then he looked back at Randy with so much emotion on his face. "Ok, I'm listening." __________________________________________________________________________________________ Well, this is the end of Chapter 5! Sorry, it took so long, but I have a career and also going through some hard but stable family issue. But I promise to keep this story going. It helps me when writing this with what I'm going thorough. Thanks again and please keep emailing! I love it! Skeeter... Editor's notes: Well well well, Ashley finally gets found out by Randy. Now let's hope that her and her mother get what is coming to them. So many questions! What will happen to the baby? Have we seen the last of Caleb (I for one hope not)? I just have a feeling he is really hot and likes Jason a lot! Will Jason forgive Randy? Should Jason forgive Randy? This story just keeps getting better and better, and you will not want to miss any of the action that is yet to come. I know that I for one can't wait to read the next chapter. Let Skeeter know what you think. Clinton
