If you are looking to get off quick, read something else. This story is presented in serial form and you'll read a lot of background, before you get any mind-blowing sex scenes and then not as many as in the past. If you are bothered by same sex relationships, read no farther. It's a story with some sex, not sex with some story. I do not usually acknowledge e-mails, instead using my time to write. I do appreciate hearing from you to let me know if this story should continue. Hope that you continue enjoying the story. LJB Joseph Andrew Collins Chapter 2 I don't know what Kirk had been eating since he arrived yesterday, but this was the first time he had been to the cafeteria. Pete and Chuck were somewhat hesitant about going to dinner with us when I told them Kirk was also going to attend, but they relented when I assured them I was certain the atmosphere would be much more congenial than their previous encounters with him. We went through the food line and loaded the items we wanted on our trays. The college had a meal plan and each student had a card with their meal funding details magnetically imprinted on it. At the end of the line, after the cashier entered the items that had been selected, you just swiped the card and it was debited to your account. As we progressed along the food line and then waited for each of our trays to be tallied, guys kept coming up to us and greeting me with friendly slaps on my back or shoulder, asking how I was and saying, it was nice to see me again. "All those guys who talked to you were wearing Delta Phi Delta jackets." Chuck noted as we began eating, after finding a table for the four of us. "Yeah, I know most of the DPD Brothers, or they at least know me," I responded, "and if you hope to be nominated by them, you better start taking note of who they are." "Shouldn't we be going up and introducing ourselves to them ?" Kirk asked in a hushed tone. "It depends on what kind of impression you feel that will leave with them." I suggested. "Can you do it without leaving an impression of being overbearing ? Sometimes it's best to just sit back and let things progress at their own rate. All you need is one Brother to be impressed enough to place your name in nomination and enough of the others to associate that name with a positive memory. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure all four of us are invited to become Pledges and after that, it's up to you whether or not you pass the Trials." Just as I finished speaking someone came up behind me and put their hands on my shoulders, squeezing gently. "How you doin' Joe ?" a voice asked, which I recognized without looking as Chris Service. "I'm doing really well, Sir." I responded as I rose and turned to shake his outstretched hand. I turned back toward the table slightly. "I'd like you to meet my roommate and next door neighbours." I introduced each of my friends. Each shook hands with Chris. I remained standing as Chris and I spoke briefly. He wanted to be certain I was settled with the discussion last night and I assured him I was. I thanked him for his concern as he left, then I sat down again. "Gentlemen, that was the Chapter President of DPD. From here on when a DPD Brother addresses you, or even comes into your area, you stand up and remain standing until they leave. You also respond to him as 'Sir'." I instructed. "That is the procedure used with Pledges and your doing it ahead of selection will make a favourable impression and likely have you remembered." "God, I wish you'd told us that before we met the Chapter President." Pete whined. "Yeah, I wish I had too." I reflected. "Well, no use crying over spilt milk, let's just use it as a valuable lesson." That evening we all spent some time sitting around and talking in our room. There were lounges on each floor of the residence, but those were where strangers congregated to meet other people. Chuck said, he and Pete had decided to have an 'open door' policy, meaning whenever practical, they were going to leave their door open, so others could stop in and visit. It sounds like a nice idea, but I thought after a while it could get kind of intrusive, as other people don't always know when to go home. About 9:00 Brad stopped by. I thought it hilarious as the other three guys snapped to their feet when he came into our room. "Seeing as my brother's so busy laughing his ass off, why don't you introduce your friends to me, Kirk ?" he asked. "Yes, Sir." Kirk answered, as I tried to stifle another gale of laughter. He then introduced the other two as they stood rigidly at attention. "Sit down, guys." Brad instructed, as he flopped next to me on my bed. The others looked at me questioningly as I had told them before to remain standing, until the Brother left them. "Sit down, guys." I repeated. "This is only Brad, my own personal brother." "You might take a lesson in manners and making an impression from these fellas, Tick." Brad lectured. "They seem to know how do things right." "He told us how, Sir." Pete spoke up in my defence. "We're just doing what Joe suggested would help have us noticed favourably." Brad sat quietly contemplating. "Sharp thinking, Tick." he finally commented. "It should work very well for them. You however, don't show the proper respect, unlike your friends and I'm going to make sure all the Brothers realize your respect for them needs to be continually tested." "Aw, c'mon Brad. You know how much I respect you and all the Brothers. Don't make things harder than they have to be. Please." I pleaded. "I'll give you a chance, before I speak to the Brothers," he relented, "but you best be sure the proper respect is afforded to every Brother, not just the ones you choose to honour." I watched his face carefully, but I couldn't tell if he was serious or not. "What was that ? I didn't hear you." he said. "Yes, Sir" I told him. "I will." "I still can't hear you." he stated. "Maybe it's because you aren't on your feet yet." His face was still rigid and there was no indication of a smile. I jumped up onto my feet. "Yes, Sir." I repeated. "Thank you, Sir." A big smile broke out on his face. "Isn't he cute when I make him be respectful ?" he laughed pointing at me and continuing to laugh. I dove on him, knowing his weakness and started to tickle him. In a minute, everyone was involved with Pete yelling, "Save the Brother" and Kirk yelling, "Save my roommate". We were all laughing and rolling around on the floor. During the free-for-all, someone gave my crotch a really good feel, checking out my equipment thoroughly. I had no idea which one of them it was. Later on after Pete and Chuck had gone back to their room, Kirk and I sat and talked with Brad. "Brad, Kirk and I have come to an agreement." I said. My brother raised his eyebrows and glanced back and forth between us. "We agreed he's an asshole and that I get to tell him about it." "Hey, hey, be nice now." Kirk interjected. "We agreed I can act like an asshole and that you can woop my ass, if I go too far with you. That's a little different." "I take it you guys have had some problems." Brad more asked than stated. He was looking directly at me and I knew he expected an honest answer. "We had a difference of opinion on how to resolve our differences of opinion." I told him. "You don't have to sugar coat it for me." Kirk said to me. Facing Brad he admitted what had happened. "I tried to use force to establish myself as the guy in charge and Joe dropped me on the floor like I was a 250 pound sack of potatoes. I don't know whether he scared me, or surprised me more, but he sure as hell got my attention." Brad sat and stared at Kirk for the longest time. We both waited in silence. "You're lucky you're not dead, or at the very least bent and broken in several places." he warned Kirk. Brad turned his eyes to me. "He has no idea who you are, or what you could do, does he ?" I shook my head slightly. He turned back to Kirk. "I absolutely guarantee you that you have no concept how close to injury you could have come today. My little brother is the most patient, gentle, tolerant person I know and if he found it necessary to put you down and hurt you, someone else with less skills and less self- control could possibly have killed you. You better realize if you are that far out of control you need some help, before you do yourself or someone else serious damage." Kirk turned a bright red and I could see he was upset by what Brad had said. "He knows he has to change his approach, Brad." I intervened. "We're all going to help, Chuck and Pete, me and you. We're going to get the four of us into DPD and then as his Brothers we can all give him the support he will need to straighten himself and his life out." "You been into the Peach Schnapps again ?" Brad asked me. His reference was to a rather embarrassing incident related to my seventeenth birthday and a young lady who turned out to not be quite as lady-like as I thought she would be. "Brad, if you say I need counselling, I'll go to counselling." Kirk stated. "Joe pointed out to me that I should be looking on coming here as a new beginning and I am. I can't make a change in my life by myself; I need some friends. I've never had real friends and now I have a chance and I want it. I'll work as hard as I can to make it happen, but I need a break to make a start." Brad sat again and stared at Kirk. After what seemed like an eternity, he spoke. "We have a number of post-grad Brothers doing Doctoral Candidate work in Clinical Psychology. I'll make a contact and see if one of them will either see you, or refer you to someone competent. You follow through and have no more violence episodes and I'll not blackball you in nominations." "Will you nominate him ?" I asked. "No." Brad replied immediately. "He's going to have to earn nomination from another Brother. That way, he'll have two of us to look out for him, besides I have you to nominate." "Oh." I answered, dejectedly. "I was kind of hoping Chris or Steve would nominate me. You know, someone the other Brothers respect and look up to." I couldn't hold the sad face. I started to giggle and laugh. "You little shit." Brad growled as he reached over, grabbed me and started to tickle. "Save the roommate. Save the roommate." I called out to Kirk. "Not me, Tiger." he called back. "I already know never to interfere when a Brother gets his brother." He just sat and laughed, as I was tortured for a good five minutes. "Something I want to tell you." Brad advised me when we had settled down again. "As you know, at the end of the Trials you have an opportunity to ask a Brother to be your Big Brother. You normally choose from second and third year levels, so they will be with you for at least two years. Don't ask me." "Why ?" I asked, being really disappointed by his instruction. "You're my best friend. You always have been. You know that." "For the same reason I won't nominate Kirk." he replied. "We have a lot of good, strongly committed Brothers. If you pick one of them, then you have the benefit of having two back-up people to support you. I don't want you to limit yourself." "I've never felt limited in any way relying on you," I told him with all sincerity, "but I'll do as you say." "Good man, Tick." my brother assured me. "It's getting late and I'm going to take off for the House." "You can stay here with us tonight, if you'd like." I suggested. "It's a ¾ bed and I don't use up very much space." "I know you don't." he laughed and play punched me in the shoulder. "I'll take a rain cheque, if I can, Tick. Tomorrow is course registration day as you know and all the Brothers are working the registration tables, helping first year students. I still have materials to organize and I have to be up and out early. Besides, this is the first night you and your roommate are together on your own. First nights are always interesting." Brad gave me a hug and then he was gone. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day. I wanted to register for my courses early, so I would get a good selection of times and instructors. After finishing with registration it would be important to pick up the booklists the Professors designated for each course and buy my books, before they ran out of any of them. Brad told me, he had learned the hard way by putting those things off and had paid the price, so I was prepared to take advantage of his experience. Gathering my personal toiletries, I went into the bathroom to take a shower and prepare for bed. I had to think for a minute how I was going to do this. I normally slept nude and wasn't about to change that if it wasn't essential. My brother and I had shared a bathroom between our bedrooms all my life, so I was not shy about my body as we had been naked around each other regularly. I thought about the situation and decided the best approach was to take the bull by the horns. Going to Pete and Chuck's connecting door, which was closed, I knocked on it and received an invite to enter. "I just wanted to check something with you guys." I announced. "I sleep naked and am not shy about being in the shower or bathroom. Is that going to be a problem for either of you ?" "Thank, God." Chuck rumbled. "I've been in locker rooms with other guys as long as I can remember and have three brothers at home. I didn't even know what privacy meant until I started jerking off." He paused a moment. "Oops, did I just say that ? Oh well, I guess you see how much it upsets me." "Well, I'm an only child," Pete reported, "and I've always been uncertain where to look when I'm in the locker room, so if you don't care, I at least know it doesn't matter. I can stop locking myself in the bathroom to change my underwear." Chuck and I both laughed at him. Good I thought, two down and one to go. I went back through the bathroom to my room. "Kirk, I sleep nude." I stated. "Does that present any problem for you ?" He looked up at me from where he sat at his desk with a blank expression on his face. "Good." he finally responded. "Since you caught me with cock in hand this afternoon, I've been wondering when I'll get to catch you. Looks like it's not going to be long at all." "Oh, it'll be long all right," I replied, "so you better prepare yourself for the next time you think about calling me 'Shorty'." Before he could answer back, I went into the bathroom and started my shower and night time routine. After I was done, I returned to my room, wearing a towel wrapped around me and after putting my clothes in my laundry hamper and everything else away, I hung the towel to dry over the back of my desk chair and climbed into bed. There was a book I had been reading, so I decided to see if I could finish another chapter before I fell asleep. Kirk had turned off the overhead light and only the lights on his desk and bedside table and my bedside table were still on. He was still sitting at his desk, but he was leaning back in the chair obviously thinking about something. "Joe, can we talk for a little while." he asked. I put my book on my bedside table. "Sure." I answered. Kirk turned out the light on his desk and moved over to sit on the side of his bed. It was directly across from mine and by turning on my side, we could look directly at each other. He started to undo the laces on his shoes. "Do you have a whole lot of friends ?" he asked. As he spoke he was removing his shoes, but he stopped to hear me answer him. "I have a lot of acquaintances, people I have met and am familiar with." I said. "I only have a very few people I consider my friends." "I understand what you mean." he responded. "I have acquaintances too, but I don't really have any friends. Even the guys I played football with weren't my friends. We didn't hang out or stuff like that. I had a cousin who I knew really well when we were just becoming teenagers, but we just sort of fell away from each other. I've never been good with people." "Is that the way you wanted it to be ?" I questioned. "Yeah, I guess so." he admitted. "People have always been a disappointment to me. You know, you're the first person who ever physically put me down. My Dad use to slap me around now and then, especially when he'd been drinking, but then I got big enough to slap him back. Then, I was slapping him around, but I knew it was wrong and I stopped doing it, no matter how much he tried to provoke me. I figured it was his problem and he wasn't going to keep making me part of it." "My Dad's never laid a hand on me." I commented. "Mom neither. Brad has. He beat my butt a couple times when I deserved it. He knows no matter how angry I am, I'd never hurt him, so he can do that. Not that I'd ever hurt Mom or Dad either, they just don't approach things that way, but sometimes my head gets too big and Brad was the one to pound some reality into it, occasionally through the other end." "You said earlier tonight, Brad is your best friend." he stated. "He is. He always has been." I confirmed. "It hurt me at first tonight when he told me not to ask him to be my Fraternity Big Brother. I should have known he was doing it for my own good." "I would have liked to have a big brother like Brad." Kirk commented. "I hope you realize how lucky you are to have him, not only as your brother, but as your best friend." "I do, but likely not often enough." I admitted. "I want to thank you for being a friend to me today, Joe." Kirk told me. "It would have been easy for you to just clobber me, tell me to fuck off and then dump me altogether. I know the only reason Chuck and Pete had anything to do with me was because of you." "It's really not hard being your friend when you allow it, Kirk." I commented. "You can be a pretty decent guy when you want to be." He smiled and I think he blushed a bit. "I'm not use to all these feelings. What would you call them ? Intimacy." he said. "But I find it easy to talk to you. I've said things tonight to you that I've never told anyone else. I guess I trust you. I'm comfortable around you." "Good. I feel the same way." I assured him. Kirk had reached the point of having pulled up his shirt and taken it off. I took in the details of his upper body, which I had glimpsed earlier today but not had time to absorb. I had changed my original appraisal of Kirk's looks now that I had seen him a few times. What I had thought was not handsome, in fact turned out to be a ruggedness to his look. He brought to mind my impression of what a lumberjack, or fisherman, someone who spent much time out-of-doors, exposed to the elements, might look like. He had a dark complexion, which was either a really good tan or some remnant of some ancestral trait. The size of him was intimidating. I was right about the broad shoulders and thick chest of a football player. He was a running back and had been part of his state's champion team the last two years. I could now see his flat stomach and abdominal six-pack, which were both lightly covered with some of the sandy blond hair that stood short and casually spiked on his head. He was solid and trim and I would guess he weighed about 165 pounds soaking wet. As I absorbed these sights I realized my dick was starting to expand and stretch. This is not a good thing, I decided, finding your roommate's body was a quick turn-on for you. My evolving condition was not helped when Kirk casually stood up and while still facing me, unsnapped his pants and pushed them and his dark blue mini-briefs down to the floor. He stood back up and casually scratched his belly. I could clearly see the bulge of muscles in his calves and thighs where the light blond hairs again spread out in a light dusting. His dick did not appear as rigid and red as I had noted earlier, but it also was not soft, or noticeably smaller. It was cut with a plump, dark red plumb capping the end. There also appeared to be a gloss of precum slightly oozing from the slit. His dick wagged back and forth as he moved, just slightly suspended above a fist-sized sac in which the shape of two plum sized orbs were outlined. Shit, I thought. I'm concerned about embarrassing the Brothers and myself and of all things my roommate has to turn out to be a stud of epic notability. Just then something happened which made my dick leap to full proportions. Kirk turned around and bent over to grasp the covers on his bed. His butt was like two melons, jutting out ever so enticingly from his back and parting as he bent, just enough to display the tiny threads of hair running from under his balls into the base of his crease. I must have gasped without realizing. "Yeah, I sleep naked too," he stated as he turned slightly toward me. Turning back, he lifted the covers and slid between the sheets into his bed. "Sleep good, Joe" he said as he turned off the light on his bedside table. I picked up my book again and although I stared at it for 10 minutes, my mind was so busy reviewing today's events, I didn't get any actual reading done before I turned out my light as well. It's really a significant statement for modern technology how they can make the little buzzer alarm on my watch so totally irritating, it will make me waken from the soundest of sleeps. Mine also has the added thrill of having to push button 1, push button 2 and then push button 1 again, in order to make it desist with the squealing buzz. By the time I am conscious enough to achieve the combination, I'm actually awake. I was sure I had just closed my eyes when the audio assault dragged me back to reality. Not wanting to awaken Kirk, I went too quick and fumbled with the code, thereby extending the racket. It was in fact 7:30, so I grabbed my kit and slid into the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth and decide if this was the day this week I would need to shave. It wasn't. When I was dressed and ready, I slipped out of the room quietly. I had explained to Kirk and the two next door about getting in early, but with tomorrow being the first day of classes, this was their last opportunity to sleep-in this week, so they had opted to take their chances later. The halls of the dorm were quiet with the signs of only a few individuals being up and about. I set aim for the cafeteria. As I entered the west door of the cafeteria, Brad, Chris and a couple other Brothers, named Bruce and Cliff entered from the north side. Chris saw me first and waved. We arrived at the food pickup line at the same time. I stood back and waited for them to go through the line ahead of me. "What the fuck are you waiting for ?" Chris scowled and pulled me into the flow in front of him. "I'm sorry, Sir" I told him. "One of the Brothers told me I wasn't being respectful enough of all the Brothers, so I felt obliged to stand back. I thought kneeling and kissing your shoes as you passed might be considered excessive." They howled with laughter. Well all of them except Brad. He just stood and scowled at me. Then he turned and proceeded to gather his food on his tray. "When the Pledges have to lick a Brother's feet during the Trials," he said, to no one in particular, but just loud enough for the rest of us to hear, "he's mine after I walk through the manure in the garden." The other three roared with laughter again. "Now don't go giving away the secrets of the Trials." Chris scolded Brad as we approached a table and set down our trays. "We don't want the Pledges preparing themselves for any of the rituals." He watched me as he was speaking and I could see the devilment dancing in his eyes. "Changing the subject," I announced, "can I ask a question about something ?" "You can ask it." Brad replied. "You'll have to take a chance as to whether or not someone will answer it." "I just wondered, about Chris being President this year. And Steve too, as vice- President." I said. "You guys are third year and still have this year and next to go. How come the Executive isn't chosen from the seniors, seeing as this is their last year ?" "It's a good question, Joe." Chris responded. "The bylaws of our Fraternity call for the Office of Past President to be filled, so the current year's Executive is elected from the Brothers in third year. That allows the Senior Brothers in fourth year to help and guide the new Executive throughout the year in the Offices which they held the prior year." "I see. It's all part of being a brother to become a Brother." I answered using a variation on the Frat slogan I had heard so often." The four men at the table all nodded their affirmation. I ate quickly and excused myself from the table. Registration started at 9:00 and I wanted to be there when the doors opened, so if there was a line-up, I could get a good place. When I rounded the corner of the building where registration was being held, there was a group of about 100 people already waiting. Really a small wait considering there would likely be 3000 registering today. At exactly 9:00 the doors opened and we were admitted. There were signs everywhere giving information about proceeding to various rooms and queuing certain lines in which to stand. When I finally reached the right set of tables for my Pre-Law registration, I found it manned by four DPD Brothers. The one I was assigned to was Duane Sutton, a second year track star who I knew only slightly. He took my papers from me and after glancing them over, looked up at me. "Oh, it is you, Joe." he said in a friendly manner. "How are things going ?" "Pretty well, Sir." I replied. "It will be even better when my courses are set and I'm done getting my books." He looked back down at my course outline. "Joe, I'm going to suggest you change two of the courses you have chosen." he commented. "I know you have the recommended ones here, but one of the courses I'm suggesting will give you a better foundation in the subject. The other one, I recommend a change in Professors. We're not supposed to do that, so just keep it quiet. The man I'm suggesting is a much better teacher, his T.A.s will work with their students and he's a lot more consistent in grading. Is that all right with you ?" "Yes, Sir." I acknowledged his recommendations. "I trust your judgement." "Thank you, Sir." he responded with a big smile. "You don't need to be so formal, you know." "Yes, Sir, I do." I informed him. "I've called most of the Brothers by their first names for two year now. If I don't break the habit, I'm going to make an error as a Pledge. I don't want to do that." "Good thinking, man." he answered. "You're using your head. I wish you the very best on your trip to Brotherhood." I handed him my tuition cheque as he wrote out the receipt and passed it to me with my papers, book lists and schedules. "You are now officially a Freshman student." I couldn't help showing a big smile when he reached out and shook my free hand. I thanked him for his help and getting a nod of acknowledgement from the other three Brothers, I started out for the Book Store. Even though registration had moved along steadily, it had taken an hour and three quarters from entry until I left the building. The lines now were outside the building and around two sides of it. Time for a snack I thought and changed the direction of my travels to the Student Union Building. As I crossed the courtyard a couple of guys were throwing a Frisbee back and forth to each other. The furthest one away from me threw the disk and it went wild. The guy closest to me ran directly toward me and then turning his back to me, continued to back up. Just before we collided, I dove out of the way, hitting a grassy knoll and rolling twice into a sitting position. The movement caught the guy's eye and he missed his catch. "Hey, don't you know enough to stay out of the way when there's a game going on ? he snarled at me as I stood up and returned to the walk. "Hey," I echoed, "don't you know enough to take your games to a park or field, where you don't interfere with other people." "Don't get lippy with me, you fuckin' short shit," he snapped, "or I'll come over there and teach you the fuckin' manners your fuckin' Mommy should have." "Piss off." I snarled. The prick advanced on me and I got ready to defend myself. "You boys letting things get a little out of hand ?" a mellow voice asked from behind me. I knew someone was approaching me, but the voice wasn't threatening and I wasn't taking my eyes of the asshole facing me. I saw him look toward the voice and instantly his stance and attitude changed. "Relax, Joe." the voice said to me, closer now than it had been before. I knew the voice, but it didn't register whom it belonged to. A pair of arms came around my shoulders and clasped in front of me across my chest in a hug, which pressed me back against his body. The arms were in the sleeves of a DPD jacket. "From what I saw, you owe this man an apology." he addressed the jerk in front of me. The voice belonged to Vince Willows, newest arrival to the Frat House and this year's Pledge Master. "He nearly tripped me." the guy in front of me almost whined. "You shouldn't have been playing in the common area in the first place." another voice to the left of me stated. I realized there were two other people behind me as well, one on either side of Vince. It occurred to me that while the conversation was going on, Vince had been slowly rubbing my chest with his arms still held around me. "I don't see where I need to apologize." the asshole stated emphatically. "Don't then." Vince suggested. "It's really no skin off our ass." The guy looked satisfied he had won. "By the way, what was your name ?" "Terry Sommers." he responded. "I'm really looking forward to Rush Week, so I can get to know you guys and be pledged to Delta Phi Delta. I've been looking forward to becoming one of you guys for a long time. I hear it's really rad." All the time this was going on, Vince continued to rub my chest and I could feel my nipples hardening as he slowly circled his hands back and forth across the shirt covered tips. I could feel my dick leaking and trying to find a route in my underwear to stretch itself. "By the by, Terry." Vince commented. "I'm sure you'll learn our names during Rush Week, but you should at least meet Joe Collins, here. Joe's the Bronze medal winner from the last Olympics. His sport is martial arts." I almost laughed when I saw the way the guy's jaw dropped and his mouth fall open. "You just about got your ass kicked, Buddy. If I were you, I'd consider this my lucky day." The guy turned slowly around and started trudging off. "Hey, Terry." Nathan, the Brother on Vince's left called. Terry turned back and looked at us. "You just keep right on there hoping about becoming a Pledge to DPD." You could actually see it dawn on him that he had just totally screwed his chances. "Dumb, jock." I muttered. "Watch it, Tick." Vince said, quietly into my ear. "Some days we can all be dumb jocks." I notice he used my family nickname and found I liked it. He squeezed my nipples with his fingers, then withdrew his arms from around me. I just about shot in my pants. I turned around to face him. His two companions had moved away from us and gone into the SUB. "Thanks, Sir, your being here kept this from becoming a major incident," I admitted, "although what you just did to me about caused another one." He broke out into a big smile and chuckled." "Is that an official objection ?" he asked me. "I wouldn't want to do anything you objected to ?" "I have no experience, Vince." I admitted. "I've never done anything with a man, but I know you don't have to rub my chest to excite me. Just being near you is exciting to me. Is that love or lust ? I have no way of knowing. If you and I ever have anything between us, it will have to be based on the trust I have in you as a Brother. The time I have spent with the Brothers has taught me, they are every one to a man, trustworthy and considerate of others. I won't object to you in any way, but know ahead I may not know what you're doing or where we're headed unless you tell me." He became very serious. He reached over and placed both of his hands on my shoulders. "When this year's Rush and Pledge Trials are over, no matter what the outcome, you and I are going to know each other. I knew that the first time I set eyes on you." he told me. "In the interim, you are going to be a Pledge, I am going to be the Pledge Master and we are going to each fulfill our responsibilities to the best of our abilities. Okay, Tick ?" "Yes, Sir." I acknowledged. "I believe my break is over and I need to get back to the Registration Hall. You look after yourself." he instructed. "By the by, Brad said, you had some people you wanted me to meet." "Yes, Sir." I responded. "It's not urgent, it will wait until Rush." He slid his hands down from my shoulders and gave my arms a firm squeeze, then turned and left. I stood looking after him for a few minutes trying to decide just what my feelings were about everything. I guess my snack break was over too, so I headed for the Book Store to make my purchases. To those readers who have asked, my stories are posted exclusively on NIFTY. They can be located in the Prolific Writer listing under the 'L' of LJB. Hope you enjoy the reading.
