Date: Sun, 26 May 2013 17:27:40 -0700 (PDT) From: Dave Ledge Subject: Kevin Chapter 20 - Conclusion Kevin, Conclusion Hello to all of my faithful readers. I know it's been over a year since I wrote a chapter in "Kevin". Last year was an amazing year, one of the best of my life. This year, not so,so far--although I'm really looking forward to meeting a faithful reader in Germany at the end of June. Nothing terrible this year, just that it pales in comparison. I also am trying to deal with the fact that an older guy I loved back on Long Island probably died during Hurricane Sandy, but I'll probably never know for sure. My younger ex is no longer writing me since I didn't give him the advice he was looking for last fall about his new lover. Every time I wear clothes they gave me, I mourn for their lack in my life. I love you Vic and Joe! If you haven't read my "Older and Younger" series do yourself a favor and enjoy (and yes, I know I'm patting myself on the back.) I still get fan mail from time to time about that, including a Lesbian woman yesterday who said this series inspired her to think about getting married to her girl friend in Spain! As for "Kevin" I'll conclude it here. I started Chapter 20 last year. I just added a new section to it now. I'll finish Kevin after that with a kind of summary of what happened over the last year and thoughts for the future of all the people in the story. If you have the time, pull up Chapters 1-19 from the Nifty Archive. I think you will enjoy them, too. If not, here's a quick summary. Jacob is a late thirties career U.S. Army guy. He's dark blond, muscular, in shape. After seeing friends die in Iraq and Afghanistan and having his boy friend cheat on him he decides to leave the Army. Eventually the Army offers him a deal he can't refuse. If he will finish out his 30 years of service it will pay for him to finish his Bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He left early to join the army in a spirit of patriotism. Upon arrival on campus, Jacob decides to join the marching band, hoping to meet people. He used to play the tuba/sousaphone and despite his rustiness barely passes the audition to join the band. At practice on a hot afternoon under a blistering late August sun he takes off his soaking tee shirt, like many other guys. The lead trumpeter, Kevin, takes note (sorry for the pun) and a life-long love story begins. Since Kevin is also an honors student and a star on the soccer team as well as being tall, dark, and handsome (some guys have all the luck) the relationship is not without problems. Some guys try to break them up and some guys try to help them. Jacob's maturity and (even) wisdom in trying to help all the guys he meets eventually leads him to being called "Father Jacob" a title he grudgingly accepts. Important people in the story are Patrick, a 19-year old guy with a complex story who has a major league crush on Jacob, but nevertheless helps Jacob understand his love for Kevin; Marco, the hunky Latin stud on the soccer team who doesn't understand Kevin's and Jake's relationship because he has never understood he loved Kevin, too. Jacob is able to help Marco understand himself, despite the huge obstacles, and become the person he really is. Kevin's Dad, Daniel, and Marco's Dad, Diego, are also major players. The final major person is Mike (yeah based on me, but his cock is even bigger than mine, grin.) You'll read enough about him in the following chapter. As always, please do not forget to support the Nifty site to make stories like these possible. I also answer all of my emails at mikedave01@yahoo.com. Kevin 20. "I had just gotten Daniel settled and shooed out the door, and had barely read the text from Mike saying he would come by tomorrow night and not tonight, when there was a new knocking at the door. What the heck? I opened the door and Patrick rushed in and said, `Jacob, I met him! I'm in love!' And he kissed me full on the lips, beaming at me!" Well, that was quite a statement! I looked at Patrick in wonder, trying to figure out whom he could have met and where. "Jacob", he said, easily deciphering my expression, "I was walking through the Union and there he was, in uniform, recruiting!" I continued to look blank. "Recruiting for the Army, of course, and he says he knows you!" I shook my head at Patrick's enthusiasm. "Slow down man", I said to him. "Start at the beginning, please!" "Well, that is the beginning! I was walking through the Student Union and noticed that today was some kind of job day. I enjoyed looking at the older men representing some of the companies hiring and was amused at that. However, when I got to the Army table, there he was! His uniform fit him perfectly. He must be your height and close to your build. I do love his honey blond hair and his blue eyes, too! I just had to meet him! So, I stopped by his table and pretended to be interested in the joining the Army (and we both know what a joke that would be, Jacob!) just so I could meet him and be near him. Well, he responded pretty well to that. I noticed he gave me looks that were not professional, too!" I smiled at that and Patrick's continuing enthusiasm. "Eventually I told him I had a good friend on campus who was also in the Army and who was going back full-time to the Army at the end of this year. When I told him your name, he seemed a bit surprised at first, but then smiled and said that he had known you a few years ago. He asked about you and what you were doing. I answered the best I could. I didn't mention Kevin, though. Not sure about that. I mean the Army just got rid of `don't ask, don't tell', I know." Well, I was curious now myself. "So, what was his name, if you found out?" I asked. "Jacob, who do you think you're talking to anyway?" he grinned. "Of course I found out his name. And he's coming over for drinks later on at my apartment, too!" My grin at Patrick's maneuvering faded instantly, though, when he told me the guy's name and I sat down heavily on my sofa. "What's the matter, Jacob?" he asked. "Did you say Roy Scott?" I asked. "Yeah, why? You do remember him I guess?" Yeah, I remember him. I remembered coming home early, unexpected, that night seven years ago. I remember thinking I would surprise Roy, so entered the apartment quietly. We had been lovers for about a year and I had fallen for him, I thought. After entering the apartment, I stripped naked. I knew Roy always slept naked, so figured we could start at "second base" instead of "first base"! LOL. I was envisioning his wicked grin, seeing me enter our bedroom with a hard on, followed by the rest of my naked body. My cock was already twitching at the thought of entering him and making him moan with desire and pleasure and fucking the shit out of him! Grin. But then I realized I was hearing sounds from the bedroom. The sounds sounded like hot sex! I figured Roy must have downloaded some porn from the Internet and was getting primed for me by watching it. But wow, was this loud and realistic! I crept to the bedroom and looked through the slightly ajar door and got the shock of my life! At first all my horrified eyes could see was a pile of naked bodies in the middle of torrid sex! Soon enough, though, I realized that Roy, "my Roy?" was in the middle of the pile. I then discerned that the man behind him with his big cock up Roy's muscular blond ass was Colonel Jones, our commanding officer for the battalion. His hairy hard ass was pistoning his big cock into Roy as hard as he could! And then I saw that Roy's thick cock was buried deep inside one of the new recruits, the skinny boy from the sticks! The slapping of cocks into asses, the moans and groans of all three, as they engaged in super hot sex, would have turned me on another time with someone else in the middle. But not then. Not at all. I quickly lost my erection. I backed out of the apartment and dressed quickly outside. I drove in silence to the liquor store. I bought a big bottle of no name vodka as well as some kind of mixer. Who knows what it was. I drove to the lake. I got out of the car. I sat down on the grass on the verge and drank and drank and drank. The tears came eventually. I finally passed out and slept under the stars. The morning sun woke me early. I was bleary eyed, still tired, and sore. I waited until I knew Roy would be gone from the apartment. I entered then, packed up all of my things quickly (I've never had that many things anyway) and moved into a small place I had found earlier in the day. I left him a note saying I had witnessed last night's sex and that we were done as lovers. I didn't even bother to accuse him of unfaithfulness and betrayal. What was the point? He could figure that out himself. When we saw each other at work after that, we ignored each other completely and never spoke to each other. When I transferred out to another unit, I think we were both relieved. While all of this was running through my head, I could tell that Patrick was puzzled at first and then started to get upset at my reaction to his new flirtation (love, hah!). Oh well, better explain this and get it over with. "Patrick, do you remember my telling you that I thought I had been in love twice before Kevin, once with a woman and once with a man?" He nodded yes. "Well, Roy was the man." His face went white with surprise and shock. "I came home early one night to find Roy as the "meat" in a "sandwich", getting fucked by our commanding officer and fucking a boy not much older than you are." I stared at Patrick then, but didn't really see him. I looked through him, remembering that horrible night. "If you see Roy, don't bring him by here, whatever you do. In fact, why don't you just go now, too?" I led him out, him still speechless, and closed the door behind him. I wasn't sure what I felt anymore. I had closed that chapter years ago and now had my Kevin to replace anything I had ever felt for Roy. Kevin is so honest, straight forward, and loving. He is everything Roy wasn't. I finally smiled a bit then and relaxed for the first time since hearing Roy's name. I thought about calling Patrick and apologizing. But then I came to the conclusion that I had nothing to apologize for. I decided not to mention this scene to Kevin when I saw him at band practice on Monday. I mean, what would be the point? That really was all water under the bridge, ancient history. Seeing Kevin, holding him, hugging him, and being shielded by Russ and Rick all helped assuage me, too. Later that evening I poured a couple of beers for Mike and me as he started to talk about the weekend and his dates with Arvo and Matt. It turned out that he was now even more confused than before. "Jacob", he said. "I really had a great time with them both. They're both so different. Arvo is so Nordic intense and he gives me these really intense looks that make me blush. Being a red head sucks at times!" he added ruefully. I laughed out loud. "But then he flashes his incredible smile after he sneaks in an absurd comment that makes me laugh! He's a great kisser, too!" He blushed slightly. Damn, he was cute, I thought. "As for Matt, he could charm a squirrel out of a tree." Interesting metaphor. "He does this `humble boy' act that sort of sucks you in and then pounces!" I arched my eyebrows at that! "No, I don't mean it that way!" This time he did blush for real. "I mean, he is so much fun. I can also tell there's a lot of passion just waiting to be released. He's also a great kisser!" At that he looked at me in total confusion. If anything, that made him even cuter! "Mike", I said, "Looks like one date isn't going to give you the answer you need. I also wonder, now, if either of them is going to wind up as your Mr. Right anyway." I shook my head at his quick protest. "Yes, both of them sound incredibly hot, but maybe you actually want something/someone you haven't met yet?" He slowly nodded at that. "I've been playing Father Jacob a lot recently with a bunch of guys here." He grinned at that. "And it seems to me that when you meet Mr. Right, you generally know it very quickly. Sometimes there's even a kind of "electricity" that passes between you. Sometimes there's almost a kind of "lightning". This isn't always true, of course. And that feeling can also mislead you. Sometimes this feeling doesn't translate into the long term for a long-term relationship. However, it doesn't sound like to me that either of these guys might be your Mr. Right. Does this make any sense?" "Yeah, a lot", he said. "Should I go on dating them both and see what develops, if anything, though?" "Definitely. However, don't lead them along. You don't seem like a guy who wants a lay without love, unlike others I could mention!" He laughed at the thought, knowing I meant Patrick. However, I also could have told him that Patrick wasn't really like that either. "And they need to know that. And if there's no spark, you need to tell them that and let them both down easy. Be sure to inflate their egos when you do, too." He looked a bit surprised at my words. "Damn, Jacob, you really could be a Father Jacob. That's really good advice." I gave an internal sigh. I suddenly felt ancient. I gave him a strong hug as he thanked me and started to leave. We both allowed ourselves to enjoy it and get a bit hard. Obvious enough with me. Really obvious with him! LOL. We laughed at our reaction to each other. "Damn Jacob", he said. "If you weren't with Kevin..." "I know", I replied, "but I am and he is the love of my life." "Yeah, I know that, too," Mike said. He nodded, reflecting. "And thanks for the good advice. My head is a lot clearer. You'll have to meet both Arvo and Matt. You'll understand my confusion better. The thought of being naked with either of them and making love with either of them is pretty wild!" "I have no problems imagining that!" I exclaimed. We both laughed again and he left. Kevin, Conclusion. Fast-forward a year. Well, Carolina did win the national collegiate soccer championship! Both Kevin and Marco were huge forces during the extremely tough matches. Carolina had to deal with home team of UAB (Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham) as well as in-state "daughter" campus of UNC Charlotte. Matches were played in Hoover, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham. Jacob finally decided to drive for eight hours to make the final. Since men hugging men is no big deal in soccer, his embrace of both Kevin and Marco was unnoticed at the win... Jake and Kevin both graduated together last May and held hands at graduation. Jake is now in Afghanistan. Kevin is in law school at Harvard. Yeah, he's just that good. Jake and Kevin Skype most days despite the time difference. They're both dealing with incredibly different stressful lives as well as they can. I (as someone who knows them both) think it's going to work out for them when they both get back together in the States, even if it won't be easy and they'll have to spend a lot of time working things out. Mike and Patrick are still dealing with trying to figure out who they are and what/whom they really want. Frankly that is appropriate. They are young. Diego has decided to be celibate and try to learn about what he feels. Again, a good choice... Daniel and Officer Bob are a couple. It was arranged in a very civilized way. And, damn aren't they happy!
