Chapter 8 Over the next hour, Levert searched through the images from Bobby's cell phone. He pieced together that the prefect's personal guard had no legitimate reason to be in that area. He also knew he could not accuse a person in the Prefect's circle, of treason, without evidence. He also knew he had passed the screening test. So how could he be the spy? Had he been turned?. The Major had convinced him to follow him to see the Prefect and confront his personal guard. He took the image of Lak, and headed to see the prefect on the bridge. They both arrived as did Levert's head of science research, "Prefect, it's good to see you again" responded the Major. "Thank you, Major. How is your beautiful wife?" the Prefect asked. "Very well, thank you for asking," the Major replied. "Have you managed to secure the capture of the spy?" the Prefect asked. "Well, sir, as we informed you, the surveillance in the immediate area had been compromised, so there is no evidence of note," the Major responded. The Major asked and answered questions posed by the Prefect. He asked a couple of staff what they had been doing at the time of the alarm, as routine, but then asked the person whom he wanted to ask. "And where were you, Lak, when the alert was sounded?" The Major enquired, hoping he would trip himself up. "I was going to my room," he replied. "Oh, and on what deck is your quarters?" the Major asked, "the Lower deck," he replied. Levert heard that answer, and knew he had his spy, he reached into his jacket pulled out a small device pointed at Lak and surrounded him in a small force field. "Levert, what is the meaning of this?" demanded the Prefect. "Release him at once." He commanded, Levert walked over to Lak, and stared at him, turning and looking at Major Barnes. "We need to run more scans on him, he is not Krile, but he may have been turned, we need to be sure," Levert informed the Major. Levert talked to his head of Science research and then explained things to the Prefect, first showing him the image of Lak on the observation deck, which were nowhere near his quarters. The prefect, clearly stunned at this development, gave his permission to perform more tests on Lak. "How could you betray your own people? how could you betray me, Lak? I have been your friend for over thirty years," bemoaned the Prefect. "Sir, they are wrong, I do not know how they have that image of me, I had not been to the observation deck, I love Lokite, I would never do what they say I have done," he insisted. Soon they were joined by two security officers, holding a container, placing it on the floor in front of Levert. "Is this all that you found?" asked Levert. "Yes, Sir, and this," the security officer handed him a small electronic box; he opened it and stared at the Major. "Have you seen anything like this before?" he asked the Major. "No, that is beyond us, as far as I am aware," the Major responded. "Where is a child when you need one?" added the Major. "Sorry, explain," replied Levert, "Oh, sorry, well back on earth, any new piece of tech, a child would somehow work out how to use it without being shown," the Major replied, and sniggered. "Lak, this came from your quarters. Explain what it is," demanded the Prefect. "I have never seen that device before, Sir, I swear," he insisted yet again. "Too many coincidences, Old friend," the Prefect sighed. Back with the boys... "Do you think he's the only one?" I asked Craig, now sitting on our bed, looking sexy as fuck, "Fuck, I hope so," he responded. "At least we are not going back blind, we know they know," he added. "Well, I thought you said the transmission was blocked?" I asked, looking at my partner getting sexier by the second, and if he can sense my emotions like I can his, he is as horny as I am. "Yes, it was, but we don't know how long he had been transmitting them, what if he had started them before we left for earth, and he came with the Prefect, so, if it took four or so months to get here, he could of let the Krile know what direction they were headed," he responded. I walked over sat beside Craig. I wrapped my arms around him. "Look, they will find out everything he knows," I replied. "Something tells me we don't want to know," he replied, turning and kissing me softly on the lips, "you read my mind," I said, "Well close," he replied, kissing me once again. Suddenly, a loud explosion was heard throughout the ship. "Jesus fucking Christ!" I yelled, "We better go and see if we can help!" Craig shouted above the alarms going off inside our room, and along the long passageway, yellow lights flashing, and warning announcements being given, we headed in the same direction as other people were headed, and we came to a large conference type room. We looked around and didn't spot anyone we knew. I tried contacting dad with the radio I had been given, but could get no response. "We need to get to the bridge," I said to Craig, "Our dad's will still be there," I added, "Yeah, ok" Craig responded. We tried using the transport pod's but they were offline, so we ran, we walked past people heading away from the Science section. "Hey, Officer!" Craig yelled at a passing security person, "What happened?" Craig added, "We are not sure, but it happened in the science section," he responded, and headed back towards the room we had just left. We made it outside the Bridge, but again couldn't get a response from anyone, we banged for attention. "Why won't anyone answer?" I moaned out. "Protocol, if an Emergency takes place, the bridge is sealed off, last line of defence" Craig informed me. On the Bridge... "Sir, it was a bomb, look," a guard showed the Prefect on the monitor, "Sir, nobody could have survived that," Levert bemoaned angrily, "My staff, someone will pay for that," Levert added. "Lak will talk, or I will kill him myself!" Levert yelled. 20 minutes earlier... Levert was talking to his head of Science research. "Have a look at it, do you think you could figure it out?" Levert asked, "Yes, I believe I could get it to work, but I will take it to the lab, my equipment is there, if you don't mind, Sir," he replied. "Yes, by all means," Levert replied, and his head of research left the bridge. Present time... "Prefect, I have had a communication from the brig," a guard informed him, "Sir, the prisoner is dead," he added. "How? Who killed him?" the Prefect asked, don't tell me we have a second spy on board?" he added, "Sir, they just said they went to check on him, and he is lying on his bunk, but dead, Sir," he responded, "Levert, go check it out, see if any signs of foul play," the Prefect instructed, "Yes sir, Major?" he responded, looking at Major Barnes. They walked to the door and the prefect dropped the protective shield and the door opened. "Dad, thank god you are ok," I shouted, as I walked onto the bridge, "Sorry, Prefect, you know my son, Bobby" he gestured toward his son, looking at the Prefect. "Yes Major, and leave him here, go with Levert. I think your experience is being called upon once again, I fear," responded the Prefect. "Bobby, Craig, stay here, the bridge is protected. Until Levert and I have checked out the Brig, you are to stay put," he instructed me, "Dad, I am not a child," I replied, "Yes, I know that, but you are still my child," he replied, kissing my forehead and headed out of the bridge. Then the force field reactivated. "Sir, what happened? Was it sabotage?" asked Craig, "It appears, Lak had an explosive device, to be used on what, we don't know. We stumbled upon it, and your father's head of science research took the device to his lab, not knowing what the device was, and it exploded, killing all in its path, we fear," The Prefect informed us. Meanwhile in the brig... "Check his mouth," Major Barnes said to Levert, and he did. "Nothing obvious. I will scan for anything out of the ordinary," Levert replied. "He reached into his case, pulled out something resembling a remote for a TV, and moved it over Lak's head, looking at a small screen held in his hand, they checked other vital organs and his brain. "Shit, what was that?" asked the Major. A metal square, no bigger than a grain of rice set on his frontal lobe, but it appeared to have exploded, enough to kill Lak. "So, he had been turned," Levert replied, "He could have been spying, sending messages back, and not even knowing he was doing it," Levert added. "So, you think the Bomb was connected to the device in his head?" asked the Major. "It looks that way, he died the same time the bomb was accidently detonated" Levert responded. "I will inform the Prefect of this development and recommend we stay on alert for the time being, just until we have scanned all members of the crew, and scanned their brains, also. Better to be safe, than sorry afterwards," Levert added. "Yeah, I agree," Major Barnes replied. Over the next few hours rescue squads had searched the Science section and found that only two scientists had been killed, along with the head. The force field was dropped from around the bridge, and the boys headed back to their quarters, to be on the safe side. "At least we are alive, as is everyone we know," I said, looking into my lover's eyes. "It could have been worse. My dad loves to take shit apart, and he could have been killed" I added "so I feel your anguish, Craig," I went on, looking at my lovers soft lushes' lips. "We are all fine, so try to relax, at least for now," I said. "The thing is, though, Bobby, we are now in Krile space or at least space we know they have been in, in the past," Craig informed me. "Yeah, that's true, but remember, we are still on alert," I responded, "We don't know what their capabilities are," Craig replied. "Craig, you really know how to bring someone down," I bemoaned. "Sorry, see, before, all I had to worry about was me, but now, I have you," he said, holding my face after we entered our room. "Craig, as I told my dad, I am not a child, I can look after myself," I told him. Then I pulled him close, "So don't worry, until there is something to worry about" I said, kissing his soft lips, and smiling into him, both of us getting hornier by the second. I pushed my hands up his shirt and removed it over his head, kissing his chest. "Now, where were we?" I managed to get out, with a shit faced grin. To be continued...
