When You Least Expect By Josh Blake Chapter 33 "Babe, I'm home!" Braden announced as he came up the stairs. I met him at the top of the stairs with and planted a big kiss on his lips. I reached down and groped his cock and balls through his athletic shorts, which were still a little damp from just finishing up his coaching duties for the day. "How as practice?" I asked. "It was awesome. These boys are really good, babe. I think we might make the playoffs this year," Braden said. "That's good to hear," I said. "We haven't had a winning baseball team in a few years. I'm glad you're turning it around." "I need to go shower. I reek," Braden said. He did have a little funk going on, but it turned me on and he knew it. "I actually need to talk to you about something," I said. "Can it wait until after my shower?" he asked, already heading toward our bedroom while pulling his shirt over his head. He tossed his shirt at me. I failed to catch it, letting it land across my face. It was damp. I breathed in Braden's aroma and had an instant boner. I removed his shirt from my face, holding it in my hand. "It's pretty important," I said. "But go ahead and take a shower, then we'll talk." "Did Jack get in trouble at school again?" Braden asked. "If he doesn't start..." "It's nothing like that, babe, I promise. It has nothing to do with Jack. Just go take a shower and then we'll talk." After Braden went into the bedroom, I held his sweaty shirt up to my face and inhaled as much of his scent as I could, causing my cock to protrude obscenely in my shorts. After all these years, I still couldn't get enough of Braden's scent. I trudged down the stairs and dropped the shirt off in the laundry room. Jordie, as Jack referred to Jordan, would be here tomorrow and he would handle the laundry. I decided to go in the kitchen and grab a couple beers from the refrigerator. Beer would put Braden in a better mood. I had no idea how he would take the news about Savanna staying with us. I ran back up the stairs carrying the two bottles of beer. As I entered the bedroom, a naked Braden was toweling his hair. I stood there a second and took in his naked body. In the nearly six years we had been together, Braden's body had matured like a fine wine. He was every bit as hot as the teenage boy I fell in love with, but he was now all man. His body hair had increased, but I didn't mind. He had once asked me if I wanted him to shave, but I wouldn't hear of it. He did trim his pubes occasionally, but that was pretty much it. Braden finished drying off and pulled on a clean pair of boxers. I handed him his beer and told him to sit down in one of the chairs we had in our bedroom. I took the other chair next to him and twisted the cap on my beer, taking a swig of it before setting the bottle down on the table between the two chairs. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Braden asked. "You've been acting all nervous since I came home. What's going on? Just tell me. It can't be that bad." "It's not bad," I said. "At least I don't think it is. But then again, I don't know how you'll react. I should have talked to you first. I know I should have. But..." "Josh! Stop rambling and just spit it out," Braden said. "I went to McDonald's today and one of my former students was working. She was sitting there crying. She just found out she's pregnant and her boyfriend kicked her out. She has nowhere to go and was going to get an abortion so I told her she could stay with us if she would think about keeping the baby but I kind of feel bad because I was hoping that if we take care of her and let her stay here that she'll have the baby even though she really doesn't want it and she might let us adopt it," I said, taking a deep breath after spilling the entire story without even pausing to take a breath. Braden looked at me and laughed. "What's so funny?" I asked. "You had me thinking it was something really bad," he said. "Babe, I love how thoughtful you are. And you know I want another baby, too. But we really have to talk to this girl and find out what her thoughts are in the whole thing. What's her name?" "Savanna. She'll be here in a couple hours after her shift is over," I said. "When she gets here, let's just show her where her room is and let her get some rest. Let's not bombard her tonight," Braden said. "Good idea. We'll let her stay in the downstairs guest room so she'll have some privacy. I've already told Mom all about it. She got the room ready for her," I said. "Have you had dinner yet?" "No, and I'm starving," Braden said. "Put some clothes on and come downstairs. I'll make you something. You can see Jack for a little bit before he goes to bed," I said. I went down to the kitchen and made Braden a couple sandwiches with some of Mom's homemade chicken salad. I knew he'd like that. After he finished eating, he joined Jack, Mom, and me in the den to watch TV for a little while. Braden and I sat on the couch with Jack between us. Jack was filling Braden in on his day at school. "Billy Sparks farted in class again," Jack said with a giggle. "Miss Wilder got really mad at him and told him that the next time he has to do that to step outside the door. Then he got up later and went to the door and went in the hall and stuck his butt back in the door and farted so the whole class could hear. Miss Wilder sent him to the office!" Jack was laughing so hard he could barely tell the story. To only be five years old again where farting was funny. "Good ol' Billy Sparks," Braden said with a laugh. "Have you been good at school this week?" "I sure have, Dad! Miss Wilder gave me a gold star and next week I get to have extra time on the playground with all the other gold stars!" "That's my boy!" I said, ruffling his hair. "I know one little boy who needs to be in bed!" Mom said. "Come on, Jack. Let's get your teeth brushed and get you to bed." "Awww! Meemaw! I don't want to go to bed right now!" Jack whined. "Jack, be a good boy and go with Meemaw," Braden said. "I love you." Braden pulled Jack over into his lap and gave him a kiss on the cheek and hugged him. "Come here, little man," I said, picking him up and doing the same thing. "I'll see you in the morning." Jack went with Mom with little argument, leaving Braden and me alone. I moved closer to him and put my arm around him, drawing him closer into me. His head was resting on my shoulder. He made eye contact with me, and I couldn't help it. I had to kiss him. I went in for a kiss and the next thing I knew, our hands were pawing at each other. I was hard as a rock, and I knew Braden was too because I could feel his hardening cock through his shorts as I groped him. Had Mom not walked back into the room, I probably would have been fucking him on the couch in another minute or two. "Should I leave you boys alone?" Mom asked, causing Braden and me to quickly separate. "Sorry, Mom," I said. "No, stay here. We'll be good." Braden just grinned. Both of had boners that had not been taken care of. We'd have to attend to that later. "We need to talk about this girl who is coming to stay here," Mom said. "I'm not sure I like the idea of her being in the house with Jack. Are we sure she's safe? She's not going to bring in drugs or anything, is she?" "She's good, Mom," I said. "She was always a great kid in high school. And I truly think she's still a good person. She just got mixed up with the wrong guy. But I'll talk to her and make sure she knows the rules of the house." "I can't hold my eyes open anymore," Mom said, "So I'm heading to bed. Her room is ready. Tell her I'll be making breakfast at 6:30 and she's welcome to join." "Good night, Mom," both Braden and I said. "Your mom is probably right," Braden said. "We do need to make sure she's on the up and up. I know what you are hoping, but Jack is our first responsibility. We have to keep him safe." "You're right," I said. "We'll get her settled tonight and then talk to her in the morning. I'll text Anita in the morning to let her know I'll be a little late getting to the office." Braden and I both waited up for Savanna to arrive. Shortly after the end of her shift, our doorbell rang. Braden and I answered it to find Savanna holding a small duffle bag and looking nervous. "Hi," she said. "Are you sure this is okay?" "Of course it is," I said. "Come in." I stood back and motioned for her to come inside. "Savanna, this is my husband, Braden," I said. "It's nice to meet you, Savanna," Braden said, offering her his hand to shake. She hesitated, then shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you too. And thank you for opening your home to me. I guess I would have been sleeping in my car tonight." "I know you're tired," I said. "Let us show you to your room so you can get settled in." "Wow, this is a gorgeous house," she said. "And this room is amazing. It has its own bathroom!" "We were blessed with the opportunity to live here," I said. "We'll let you get settled in, then we'll talk in the morning. My mother will be making breakfast at 6:30. I know that's early, but we all start the day early around here." "I'm usually awake early, anyway, so it's okay," she said. "Thank you both again." Braden and I left Savanna in her room and went up to bed. Both of us were still horny, so Braden got his hot, tight, hairy ass fucked twice before we went to sleep. I had him so full of cum that it was dripping out of him! The next morning, I got up early and took my shower while Braden was still sleeping. I could already smell bacon frying downstairs. I walked into the kitchen to find Savanna helping Mom make breakfast. "Mom, did you put her to work already?" I asked. "Oh, good morning Mr. Patterson," Savanna said. "I actually volunteered. I love making breakfast." "I told her she is our guest and she didn't have to, but she insisted!" Mom said. "I am happy to have the help, though!" A few minutes later, Braden came downstairs with Jack in tow. "Hey everybody!" Jack announced when he came into the dining room with Braden. "Hey Daddy, Hey Meemaw, Hey...." He paused, not knowing what to say. "Hey, lady." "Jack, this is Savanna," I said. "She's a friend of mine and she might be staying here with us for a little while." "Hey there, Jack!" Savanna said. "It's nice to meet you!" She shook his hand and patted him on the back. "You sure are handsome, just like your dads!" We all sat down to breakfast. Mom and Savanna had made pancakes and bacon for breakfast. I was definitely going to have to hit the gym later. When breakfast was finished, Savanna helped Mom clear the table and load the dishwasher. "I can clean the rest of this up," Savanna said. "Don't bother," Mom said. "Jordan, our housekeeper, will be here soon. He'll handle it." "Savanna, if you don't mind, Braden and I would like to talk to you. Mom, can you get Jack to school?" "I can handle it," Mom said. "Jack! Get upstairs and brush your teeth! We'll be late!" Braden and I both hugged and kissed Jack and told him to have a good day. Savanna stood by smiling, then she told him to have a good day as well. "She's really pretty, isn't she Meemaw?" we heard Jack say as he bounded up the stairs. "We can go into the den," Braden said. "I texted Devin and asked him to cover my morning classes, so I can be a little late." "Oh yeah, I need to text Anita as well," I said. The three of us sat down in the den. Savanna started the conversation. "I just want to say again how much I appreciate what you are doing for me. I can start working on getting a place today so I can get out of here as soon as I can," she said. "That's actually what we wanted to talk to you about," I said. "You don't have to be in a rush to move out. What we actually wanted to talk about is your situation with the baby." Savanna rubbed her belly. "The doctor thinks I'm about six weeks in," she said. "I just can't be a mom right now. I just can't." "What if there was another option?" "Like what?" she asked. "I don't want to just get rid of it. I really don't. But I don't have insurance and I can't afford all of the bills that come with it. And that's even if I could take care of it after it's born. McDonald's doesn't exactly pay well. And I want to go back to school. I just can't do it!" She was on the verge of tears. I looked over at Braden and took his hand in mine. "Several years ago, we were blessed by a young girl and her family. The girl was pregnant but didn't want the baby. That's how we got Jack," I said. "I was wondering how y'all got him. He's such a doll!" Savanna said. "He has been a blessing to our family," Braden said. "We've been hoping that another opportunity for us to adopt would come along." "We also have an adult son who we adopted when he was sixteen. You might remember Lucas," I said. "Oh my gosh! I forgot about him! Yes, I remember him! And I remember when you got shot by his dad and then you adopted him. Wow! That seems like so long ago! Where is he? What is he doing?" "He is actually engaged to my brother," Braden said. "And he's going to school out in Mississippi. He's going to be a meteorologist." "That's amazing!" Savanna said. "I'm so glad he's doing well." "As you can probably imagine, most of the adoption agencies don't like working with gay couples. We've come a long way, but straight couples usually get first dibs on babies," I said. "So that's where you come in. I hate to be so forward, but I don't know any other way to put it. If you're willing, we would like to take care of you until the baby is born, if you will let us adopt it." "Oh, wow." Savanna said. "I need to think about this." "Of course, think it over. Obviously, you can stay here until you decide what to do. If you decide to go through with it, we will allow you to live here rent free. All of your meals will be provided. I know a social worker I can call who can probably get you on some insurance that will cover most of your medical expenses. What they don't cover, we will." "That's a generous offer," Savanna said. "Can I keep my job? I'm saving up to go to school." "I don't see why not," I said. "As long as you're healthy and the doctor says you can work." "We'll even go one further," Braden said. "We'll set up a college savings account for you and put money in it every month. And I'm pretty sure we can work on some scholarship opportunities, too." "That would be wonderful," she said. "But I still want to think on it." "Absolutely," I said. "But you need to know that Braden and I love Jack with all our heart. He is our son, even though neither of us actually helped conceive him. We feel the same way about Lucas, even though we didn't raise him from a baby. We would love your child the same way. Our home is full of love, and we have more love to give." "I don't think it will take me long to make my mind up," she said. "It's just a lot to think about, you know." "We understand," Braden said. "I know that I for one have to go to work. I'm sure someone is having to give up their planning time to watch my class until I get there." "I have to get to work as well," I said. "Savanna, Mom will be back soon from taking Jack to school. Jordan, our housekeeper, should be here within the next twenty minutes. Make yourself at home, but please remember that our son lives here. And given your condition, no drugs, no drinking, and no alcohol. I don't mean to sound like your father, but..." "No, I completely understand," she said. "I don't do any of that anyway. I've never even touched a cigarette. They're gross. I promise I'll respect your home. You don't have to worry about that." Braden and I both hugged Savanna and told her we'd see her when we got home. I went upstairs and quickly finished getting dressed for work. As I drove to the office, I played the entire situation over in my head. The idea of being a dad again was making me smile a lot. I had to keep bringing myself back down to Earth to keep from getting too excited. Savanna might decide not to have the baby. As much as I hoped she would have the baby and let us adopt it, I had to recognize her feelings and respect whatever decision she made. I had never been one to pray very much, but I said a short, silent prayer for peace for Savanna as she made her decision. The next chapter in this series will be published soon!
