Date: Sun, 13 Sep 2020 01:36:09 +0000 From: David Lee Subject: A Good Year at Linwood High, Chapter 7 A Good Year at Linwood High, Chapter 7 Nolan stalled around getting ready for school in the morning so he wouldn't have to eat breakfast with his mother. He was still angry about her hovering over him like a helicopter parent. After he heard her leave, he ate a quick bowl of cereal and stuffed three granola bars in his backpack in case he got hungry before lunch. Once he was at school with his buds, Jace and Eli, he quit thinking about his problems at home and enjoyed the day. The three of them rode over to the new house after school to try out the refurbished basketball hoop. Nolan had used some of the money he'd earned from pruning the neighbor's bushes to buy a new net and a new ball. It was cool to see a tangible reward for his work -- and one he could share with his brother and their friends. When they were through playing, Nolan made sure to leave in time to be at his own house working on his studies before his mother got off work. When she arrived, she had lasagna she'd picked up for supper from Zoey's as a treat. After dinner, she didn't go through his texts and emails. It looked to Nolan as if she were trying to make up for last night. That was good, but he wasn't going to make any peace overtures yet. He still felt like a prisoner and she would have to do more than bring home one of his favorite meals if she wanted to be forgiven! ---------- Griffin was elated that he'd been able to finish everything he'd planned to do at the house to surprise his dad. He couldn't thank his buds enough for all the effort they'd put in. However, he was going to at least reward them with an overnight when his father and stepfather got settled. He'd already texted the men about his plan, and they'd been fine with it. They said he should let the boys know that the house would be in an unfinished state and not to expect too much. Griffin grinned as he responded that he was sure the guys would be fine staying there as it was. They weren't the kind to worry over a slightly shabby house. He could hardly wait to see the look on Terry's and Joaquin's faces when they saw it! ---------- Terry and Joaquin didn't try to drive through from Arizona non-stop. At a distance of nearly 1,600 miles (roughly 2,500 KM) it was better to do it in three days and spend two nights in motels to have plenty of rest. Had they not been driving two vehicles; they might have done it in a shorter time. They did trade places between driving the SUV with the U-Haul in tow and the sedan. By doing so, it broke up the monotony somewhat. They also took frequent breaks to prevent highway hypnosis. The stretch through New Mexico was okay, but the scenery in Kansas was about as exciting as watching paint dry. Having covered a large chunk of the trip on the first day, they hoped to arrive in Marion around the time Griffin got off from school on Friday afternoon. He had enjoyed living with Ashton, but he seemed very excited about finally having a family and a room of his own. ---------- Nolan's classes ended later than Griffin's, but he and his two close buds still arrived ahead of when Terry and Joaquin were due. That made for a rather sizeable welcoming committee with Ashton, Rhett, Levi, Eli, and Jace along with the two brothers. The older boys had put together refreshments which were currently on the kitchen countertop and in the fridge. Now all they could do was wait. Since there wasn't anything else to prep, the boys played a game of basketball. They were so into it that they nearly missed the vehicle pulling into the drive. To Nolan's horror, it was his mother who had arrived! She immediately lit into him, ordering him to get into her car and go home. He resisted, saying he wasn't going to do it. The other boys were aware of Nolan's difficulties with his mother, but they weren't sure how, or if, they should intervene. When her language became abusive, several of them pulled out their phones to record the scene. "I told you not to hang around with your queer brother and you've defied me. I'm gonna whip your ass when I get you home, and then I'm gonna ground you for a month." "Don't call my brother `queer!' The word is `gay' and I'm gay too, so there!" "You can't be gay; I won't let you. Now shut your fucking mouth or I'll shut it for you!" "No!" Instead of repeating her warning, Tiffany slapped Nolan's face hard enough to make his nose start to bleed. "Calm down, Mother!" Griffin shouted. "I'm not gonna stand by and watch you abuse him!" "If you touch me, I'll have you arrested and you'll be in juvie where you belong, you little bastard!" While this exchange was going on, several other things happened. Rhett used his phone to call 911 and Terry pulled up in the SUV with Joaquin behind him in their car. Tiffany was taken aback by the presence of her ex. She had still assumed this house belonged to Eli's parents and she had no idea why Terry was there. "What the hell is going on here?" Terry demanded. "What the hell are you doing here?" Tiffany countered. "I'm moving into my new home, and why is my son bleeding?" "He was sassing me and I had to show him who's boss!" "It looks like abuse to me," Terry exclaimed. "I think I should call the police!" "Yeah, well it's your word against mine." "Not exactly, Mother," Griffin glared. "Most of the guys have been capturing this all on their phones, like I am, and Rhett has already called the cops." Seeing that she wasn't going to get away with her actions, Tiffany jumped into her car to leave before the authorities arrived. Since it was blocked by Terry's vehicle, she drove across the lawn to get to the street. In the process she skidded on the grass and hit the fire hydrant sending a plume of water into the air. She nearly struck the police car which had just arrive and was now blocking her escape route. It looked like a scene from a National Lampoon movie except that it wasn't funny. ---------- Three hours later, things had calmed down considerably. Tiffany had been arrested on charges of suspected child abuse, driving under the influence, and destroying city property. The boys had been interviewed and had submitted their videos for evidence. Nolan's nose had long since stopped bleeding and he had some ice wrapped in a dish towel to control the swelling on his face. Also, a crew from the water department had shut the area down and were working frantically to replace the hydrant so that pressure could be restored before nightfall. Currently, everyone (but Tiffany) who had witnessed the argument and its aftermath were at Havel House eating supper. Kathryn and her neighbor, Coleen, had already planned the welcome dinner for Terry and Joaquin and they had extended an impromptu invitation to Griffin's and Nolan's buds. William had made a quick trip to HyVee Foods to pick up three more rotisserie chickens, a couple more containers of coleslaw, another watermelon and two large bags of potato chips. There probably would have been enough without his going out for more, but he didn't want to stint. Initially, the boys who had watched the confrontation had had a difficult time settling down. However, after they had eaten their fill, they were feeling pretty mellow. When it was time to leave, Terry and Joaquin went home with enough leftovers for the next evening's meal. Their hosts insisted upon it. Griffin hugged everyone in the house, including Carson and Brianna before he left. With the Havel boys help, he'd already moved all of his things to his new bedroom. Tonight, he hoped to christen it along with his boyfriend. While Joaquin was driving them home, Nolan got his dad to call Levi's mother, to ask if both her sons might spend the night at their new house. Considering the afternoon's ordeal, Jackie thought Terry might not appreciate the addition of her sons to the household. When she found out that Griffin and Nolan were begging to have them stay over, she quickly acquiesced. Having a Friday night alone with her husband would be a rare treat. Jason was also invited, but he couldn't stay over because his family was leaving early the next day to visit Grandma. Although he would miss the company of his two best buds, he thought they might like sleeping together without him there. If Nolan were, indeed, gay like he'd told him mother, it would be a chance for Eli and him to possibly explore a bit. Jace wasn't sure about Eli one way or the other, but he was pretty sure about his own orientation and was looking forward to having his first date with a girl. ---------- Tiffany's dramatic scene had kept the men from going into the house further than the kitchen when they'd arrived. The time there, other than being interviewed by the police, was spent nibbling on the treats the boys had put out. Therefore, they hadn't noticed all the work the teens had put into the place in their absence. "Whoa! What is this? Did you guys hire professional painters while we were gone?" Terry asked when they came back. "Wow! It looks like every room in the house has been done and the stairway too." "Um, we did it on our own," Griffin grinned with pride. "William helped us get started and he did some of the edging up to the ceiling because he's had more experience than we have." "It's absolutely perfect! Who all was involved?" "Levi, Ashton, and Rhett did a lot and Nolan, Jace, and Eli helped too. The younger kids did most of the scraping on the trim outside to get it ready and they refurbished the basketball hoop." "We need to pay them." "We all wanted to do it," Levi said. "We don't want any money." "Well, we'll have to have a pizza party and some other things for rewards if you won't take cash." The boys all appreciated Terry's praise. Griffin texted Ashton and Rhett to let them know. Nolan texted Jason. ---------- Griffin and Levi were the first to use the newly decorated bathroom together. There wasn't an antique tub to play in, but they enjoyed the new vibrating shower wand so much that they nearly spilled their seed in the process. It was great for stimulating the area between their balls and rectum. With only their tented towels for covering, they scurried to Griffin's bedroom. Once inside with the door locked, they got into the position they'd discovered when using the tub at Havel House, with their butts and balls touching. Squirming around heightened their excitement. It took very little manual stimulation to bring them over the edge. There was a lot of splooge, which they cleaned up with their tongues and lips before kissing deeply in the afterglow. Griffin's bedroom was officially christened. He'd only tasted Champagne a couple of times and thought this was better! ---------- "Are you really gay or did you just say that to piss you mother off?" Eli asked Nolan. "To be honest, I'm not sure. I figured since she threw Griffin out, she might do the same with me. I like being naked in the locker room where other guys can see my junk, but I've never done that in front of a girl. I'm not sure if it would be exciting or not. I don't dream about girls. "How about you? I know your brother and my brother must mess around. Do you think you're gay too?" "I guess I'm like you are. I wouldn't mind, um, doing some stuff with another guy. I don't know for sure if that makes me gay." "Would you like to shower together?" "Sure." Eli and Nolan checked each other out at close range and got steely-hard in the process. Using soapy washcloths, they cleansed not only the other's back, but did the same with intimate places like the cleft between their butt cheeks. "Oh, you almost made me come!" Eli gasped. "Okay, I'll back off. Let's save it for bed. Have you ever jacked another guy off?" "Nope, but I'll try it if you will. I have done it with another guy watching." "Cool! Me too." Before they went to sleep, they still weren't sure if they were gay, but they were convinced that sex was the best thing ever invented, and they really enjoyed doing it together. ---------- On Saturday morning, Terry took Nolan to Target to purchase a few items of clothing to tide him over until the social worker could get Tiffany to let him have some of his things. He had arrived at the house after school on Friday on his bike with little more than the clothes on his back. Fortunately, he'd brought his laptop with him in his backpack. He'd borrowed a pair of boxers from his brother for sleeping and his dad had run his school clothes through the laundry with other things that needed washing. Knowing that Tiffany would likely be resistant to letting the boy take anything from her house, Terry had him pick out several shirts, jeans, shorts, and underwear. Nolan said he didn't care if he never got any of his other stuff as long as he didn't have to go back to live with his mother! ---------- When Jason saw his buds on Monday morning, he suspected they had played around some. There was a lot of grab-ass between them when no one was watching. It was like they couldn't keep their hands to themselves. He wondered if he would be like a fifth wheel from now on. He was relieved when Nolan asked if he could come over after school to shoot some hoops and maybe do their homework together with Eli. He said they would probably be alone in the house because Joaquin was spending the day looking into job opportunities and his dad would be talking to a lawyer about gaining full custody of Griffin and him. ---------- Terry and Joaquin hadn't purposely scheduled their day to be gone when the boys came home from school. However, they didn't think it a bad idea for the kids to have free time with their buds without parental interference. It was especially true for Nolan since Tiffany had become so overbearing. Terry's main concern was to gain legal custody of Nolan. He called the office of Barton Caruthers to get an appointment. Barton was Ken Kirk's partner in the firm and specialized more in family law. Unfortunately, Barton was in court for the whole morning and couldn't meet with Terry until later in the afternoon. Terry had to stay home until then and try to concentrate on his job. Joaquin had gone to several salons to check about job prospects. The one he was visiting around the time schools let out was a place where stylists rented a chair by the month and were able to keep all their fees and tips. There were no benefits like health insurance, so he needed to weigh that against the higher profits he would make. ---------- "Well, Mr. Orman, I think you stand a very good chance of gaining full custody of your younger son as well as your older one. In Griffin's case, you wife actually signed a note to the effect she wanted nothing to do with him. In Nolan's situation, we have evidence of abuse after her rash behavior last Friday. Since what she did made the Gazette, it's rapidly become public knowledge. Given the fact she was intoxicated and struck the boy in the presence of witnesses is a definite advantage for our case. I realize the ones who can testify against her are minors, but with the advent of cell phones, they can back their testimonies with graphic footage. Thanks for bringing in a copy of that." "What's going to happen in the meantime? Nolan is with me because there are no other relatives in the area to take care of him, but what if Tiffany's mother comes and demands custody? I talked to the social worker when she came after they took Tiffany away, so I'm covered for now." "I'll file papers with the court yet this afternoon to asking to award you custody pending the outcome of our appeal of your original divorce decree. Judge Simpson knows my reputation and he'll no doubt approve it without any hassle. We should have it all cleared up within a few months. Obviously, this will change your obligations for child-support. You'll not only have your boys, but you'll be on a better foot financially to boot." "Thanks! How much do I owe you for your initial consultation?" "Nothing. That's free. I'll bill you for the hours spent pursuing your interests, but you'll find my rates are very competitive. I need to make a living, but I'm in this business to help families, not rob them." Terry left the firm of Caruthers and Kirk feeling the best he had about his family situation since his divorce. ---------- Griffin and his friends were occupied with an extra after-school band rehearsal to prepare for a competition in Ankeny the following weekend. That left Nolan and his buds at home on their own. While they were shooting baskets, clouds moved in and it began to sprinkle. They put their bikes in the garage and went inside the house to stay dry. Ending up in Nolan's room, Eli began to wrestle with his host on the bed. His playfulness caused them both to pop wood, which, in turn, aroused Jason as well. "Have you two been getting it on?" he grinned. "Um, why would you think that?" Nolan blushed. "You've both been horny all day. It's like you can't keep your hands to yourself. I'm not sayin' that's a bad thing but others are gonna notice if you're not careful." "So, you're not against guys messing around?" Eli said. "Not if I get to play too!" "Okay!" All three grinned from ear to ear as they removed their jeans and underwear. They arranged themselves seated cross-legged on Nolan's bed with their knees touching. Their excitement was unmistakably evident in the stiffy each was sporting. Eli reached with his right hand to caress Jace's rod, prompting Jace to do the same to Nolan and Nolan to pet Eli's. Though they were primarily interested in each other's dick, their left hands strayed to gently massage the nearly hairless balls of the guy on the other side. Lustful sighs accompanied their exploration. "Make me cum!" Jason pleaded. "I'm so close." Within a few seconds everyone ramped up their strokes. Jace's first watery shot hit Nolan's leg causing him to erupt on Eli. Eli's thicker spurts landed on both of his companions as Nolan directed the flow like he was watering a flowerbed with a hose. "Kleenex!" Nolan shouted, and Jason grabbed the box since it was on the nightstand closest to him. All three cleaned up quickly to prevent staining the bedspread. "I'm glad it started to rain!" Jason grinned. "Me too," Eli agreed. "We need to do this again when we get the chance," Nolan proclaimed. "I sure hope Dad gets to keep me! "Hey look, it's stopped raining. We can play some more basketball." With that said, they pulled on their clothes and went back outside. Their homework didn't get done until shortly before bedtime.
