He didn't say anything but stood at the foot of my bed. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I'm just upset and I couldn't sleep. We made a mess tonight. It's going to be trouble," he said. "Is it?" I asked. "Seems we were just playing around with your skits. I don't feel guilty about anything. Do you?" "Well, I mean, if you don't think manhandling Tristan isn't appropriate, then I guess not," he said defensively. He turned and started back to the door and I told him to stop. I told him to come sit on my bed with me. He came back and sat on the edge. "Ty, nobody cheated on anyone. It was kissing and a handjob. It was all in fun, I thought." "I didn't say you did everything wrong. I started it, well, Tristan and I started it. You don't think what we did was wrong?" "All you did was cum from a handjob. Come on, Ty, straight people have things like that happen too. I know they do. But you all running around in little silky undies and swim suits, come on, I'm a guy and I can only take so much. Y'all are so fucking gorgeous. You know I didn't know guys like you at my last school. It's like I'm in heaven. I'm totally in love with you and Tristan is the sweetest guy I have ever met. If you go in there and make him feel guilty, I won't forgive you. I really won't," I said and meant it. Ty leaned down on the bed by my side. This was not my good side so he was careful. "So I should just let go? But," and I put my finger on his lips. I pulled his head toward me and sucked in his bottom lip. "Let it go, Ty. I'm afraid once I start back to school some things will change and that may mean I'm not stuck in the house and you may not be babysitting me anymore. Understand? Let's enjoy this time before it's gone," and I kissed him again. "Things might not change that much. I will be here whenever you want me to be. There's nowhere else I want to be," and he kissed me. "Except," he said, suddenly, "I will be gone tonight and the parents have the ball so you'll be on your own." "Huh? Where are you going?" "Tristan and I are going to a party thrown by one of the guys in chorus. We have to go. We really do." "AAAH, why is this the first I am hearing about it?" "We didn't want to make a thing out of it. I won't be home late, I promise. But I will come home alone and I will see you then," he told me, placed a quick kiss on my lips then slipped back to his room. "Bitch!" I snorted. "Everyone will be gone and I'll be stuck here by myself. Bryce has texted me. I should text him to come pick me up and take me out. LIke he would be so excited to haul me out into the car with casts and crutches. Probably not. "Just fuck it!" I thought to myself and rolled onto my good side. Tristan left after breakfast. He didn't seem to have any concerns about the night before. I watched his mood like a hawk. I thought Ty would be cooler and I hoped he didn't start up again. As the day would turn out, I'd be holding court. I guess a week after the main event, and people thought they should call on me. First there was Ginny. She wanted me to know that she would be going to the homecoming dance with some girlfriends. She didn't find another date out of respect for me. I hadn't even thought about Homecoming but it was only a week away. She didn't have to make that sacrifice for me but she was just a good girl like that. Bryce stopped by around 11 to talk about the game. Even though we had texted, he hadn't seen me since that day in the hospital. He talked about the plays and the fact the new quarterback was all over the place and didn't have real focus. The paper had called that already. Headlines read "A Close Call for the Colonels." He couldn't stay long but I was glad he came by. I would have to make some new inroads with him to at least keep on the social scene. It was around 12:30 when the big surprise came. I was in the family room when I got a text from an old friend from back home named Diesel Gray. He was a great guy. Text read "were here." I wrote back, "huh?" Response said "were here dude. Open up!" I got up from the couch and stumbled to the front door. I looked out the side window and saw them, my friends standing on the front porch. My eyes almost watered. I opened the door, "Holy shit guys! Where did you come from?'' They barged in past me, almost knocking me over. They stopped in the foyer and looked around. "Damn boy," said Diesel. "Who lives in a house like this?" he asked with excitement. "Looks like the governor's mansion or something," said Micah. I will get to him in a minute. "Nice," said Prince. "You are doing well for yourself brothah!" and he gave me a big hug. Well, they all did, really. So Diesel Gray is really Grayson Roads. There was always a unique connection because his dad is a truck driver and was always "on the road." Diesel got the nickname because he became the "all knowing" mechanic when he was like 12. He could take an engine apart and put it back together again. Put a wrench in his hand and he will fix things you didn't know needed fixing. Someone yelled "Diesel Gray" at him during a football game one night and it took. It's what we called him ever since. I may have told you about Prince. He was a big black guy who took my place as quarterback for the Pioneers. Micah, whom I least expected to show up, was our late bloomer and I didn't know how well he had bloomed. He used to be skinny and awkward. Braces filled up his mouth and he could barely talk right. Pimples. Damn he was a mess. Now what I was looking at looked like a damn Polo model. "Micah, what's happened to you? You look good, man," I said as I nodded at him approvingly. "Doesn't he clean up good?" said Diesel. "Getting those braces off, man, I just found a new look," he said sheepishly. "Hey Josh, we miss you so much and this crap you've gone through, man, we were not happy. We had to see you," he added. "Damn right, man," said Prince. "Let me get Jeeves to escort you all into the drawing room," I said joking. They laughed. Diesel put his arm around me and helped me back down the hall to the family room. Everyone took seats and we were about to start in on it when Tyson came down the backstairs. He came into the room and froze. Well, actually, everyone froze. Tyson was in dark grey tights and a red sweatshirt. Maybe a little `urban' for these guys. I almost got tickled but realized the success of all this hinged on what I said next. "I'm sorry, Josh. I heard voices. I'll go back upstairs," and before he could turn around, I said, "Guys, I want you to meet my stepbrother, Tyson Breck," and he stopped and waved at everyone. "And let me tell you all this, if fate had to hand me a stepbrother, it handed me the best one there is," and Ty's face turned beat read. The guys smiled and introduced themselves. Diesel got up from the fireplace hearth where he had sat and walked over to Tyson. "Let's take a good look, little man. I see you got some style about you. It's a pleasure to meet you, Tyson," and he shook Ty's hand. "Now let me ask you this. Does Joshua here treat you good? Does he show respect like he's supposed to?" he asked. Everyone laughed and Prince yelled out "Hell no!" "Well," said Ty, enjoying the mood, "he does ok most of the time. There is room for improvement," he said and everyone cracked up. I let him have his moment. This was his chance to shine. "Actually, Josh is amazing and it's because of me..." "Hey! Hey, hey!" I shouted. "You stop that. We're not going there today," I demanded. Diesel interjected, "You look, Ty, is it? We know what happened and I swear to The Almighty that guy should not have been able to walk away. Your step brother showed mercy and he didn't deserve it. And you didn't deserve to be treated like that either." Ty nodded with appreciation. "Why don't you come on here and stay with us? We want to get to know you, little man," and Diesel Gray pulled him into the room. Before Diesel could sit down again, my mom walked in through the kitchen door. Diesel froze in his place. You have to understand, Diesel had not had a mom since he was a little boy and my mom did a lot for him. Almost as much for him as she did for me. They had a tearful goodbye when we moved here. "Oh my God, Mrs Warner!" he shouted. "Grayson!" and she ran to meet him and gave him a big hug. Bill Breck walked in behind her. "Hey Diesel, uh she's Mrs. Breck now. Remember?" I said. "Oh damn, I forgot," he said laughing. "Well Mrs. Breck, I'm so happy to see you!" and he hugged her again. "You know, you're old enough and big enough, Grayson, to call me Karen. Can you do that?" mom said. "I think, Mrs, uh. Mom," and he looked back at me pleased with himself. Bill came in and introduced himself and finally, we were able to catch up. We had a great time talking and laughing. We went out into the back yard so we really talk it up. There was gossip and breakups and hookups and what not to discuss. Mom called Ty in to help make some sandwiches for the guys. Funny enough, Micah headed in behind him asking if he could help. I knew it! I knew the minute I saw Micah, he had a look in his eye. If he had been at that party a few weeks before, I might have known it then. Now, handsome thing was in the kitchen sniffing after Ty. I wish I could have seen the looks on MY face because I wanted to say about seven things but could not utter a word. My suspicions would be all mine regarding this little scene. Not long after, Tyson and Micah came out with a tray of ham and cheese sandwiches cut into little quarters. Well, we ate them up. "Man, Josh, I'm glad you get to live the good life out here but this mess is out of hand. What will they do when they catch the guy?" Diesel asked. Ty walked over to the door and yelled inside, "Dad, come out and tell these guys what you just told us!" Bill came out onto the patio and said, "Gentlemen, they have caught Donald Cox and have him in custody. He has been charged with Hit and Run and attempted vehicular manslaughter. He's 17 so he can be tried as an adult. They are bringing him back into the state tomorrow," Bill said. "Now fellas, let me advise you of this. What this boy did was terrible and he caused a lot of harm. It could have been worse," and he looked over the rims of his glasses at us. "Don't spend a lot of energy hating and wishing further violence. Let justice run its course while we all move on. Sound like a plan?" he asked. "Easier said than done," said Prince. "But we hear you. You're right." Everyone nodded but Diesel drew up a fist and nodded at me. I understood. That guy hurt his brother and vengeance is an easy consideration. Mom came out and we enjoyed the cool afternoon in the backyard. Bill suggested to me that if I wanted to have the guys over around Thanksgiving, he would fry them a turkey they would never forget. Well, that would be a plan. It was generous of him to offer and Diesel told me to put a date on the calendar. Micah kept making googly eyes at Ty. For some reason, I would have preferred he made those eyes at me. He was hot in those jeans and you know I have a thing for guys, guys in jeans, and jeans that fit the booty good. Well, so much for my vanity. They had to go and get back to the country. Whew! I was so glad to see them and I tell you, after having so many guests in one day, I was rather tired. Mom and dad had to go up and get dressed for the ball. Tyson explained this ball thing to me. This was the first of the charity balls and there would be one every month between October and May. The New Years Ball was a big one and the March ball was a big one. These three were basically required of the social set. Tyson had to get ready for his party and was picking up Tristan on the way. Mom and dad had left in a black caddy sent by the car service to drive them. Ty slipped into my room and pushed me onto the bed. Surely he didn't have time for a quickie now! "Hey babe, today was great and your friends were amazing. I think they liked me ok. They were really cool," he said. "Did you like how Micah was basically stalking me?" and he laughed. "You are right. The guys did like you. You are `out of their norm' but they were really good. About Micah, well what I was thinking is that I wish he made those cute smiley faces at ME!" I said and poked him in the chest. "That's right. It's all about Josh," he laughed. "I'm going to point that out when I write the sitcom based on you," he said. "Well, Tristan and I are going to write the sitcom. TriTy Productions!" He might actually do it, I thought to myself. Could be worth a fortune:) I pulled him to me and kissed him. The first kisses were pecks then our lips locked. I was so glad he was a good kisser. I told you that before. "Go to your little party," I said. "I'll be ok here, by myself. I have phone numbers in case I fall down the stairs or anything. I'm not as helpless as I look, you know," I said. "You need to stop," said Tyson. "I'll be back later," he said and with one more quick kiss, he was gone. People in this household seem to go quick, have you noticed? I'm not even exaggerating when I say that. No one has time for long goodbyes. Perhaps I didn't used to either but since I'm the one being left behind, I guess I'm more sensitive to it. With the house empty I hobbled into the kitchen and looked in the fridge. Nothing. There was a Lean Cuisine on the counter. I guess last night's steak dinner was supposed to tie me over til Sunday. I threw the fucking frozen dinner into the trash can unopened. I turned on the television. There was a race, a replay of some high school football games from around the state. Nothing I wanted to see. I turned on Netflix and put on some Syfy flick that I didn't want to watch. I couldn't sit still. I went outside and that didn't produce any form of entertainment. At least the cool night air felt good. But it was getting colder. It was the perfect football weather. Where the cool air made the field bearable as well as sharpened the mind. Real football players will tell you they can smell a football in air like this, even if there isn't one around. And I thought I could. I checked my phone. No messages. I came back inside as it was getting dark. I went over the corner of the kitchen and opened a cabinet to find Mr. Breck's liquor stash. There was a nice bottle of Makers Mark Whiskey there. Yep, I took the bottle out and got a cocktail glass from the other cabinet. I opened the fridge again and pulled out a short bottle of ginger ale. I mixed myself a nice drink and upon tasting the first sip, the slight burn easing past my tonsils, felt some brief comfort. Sitting at the island I texted Bryce "hey man thanks for coming today". Diesel Gray "Hey thanks for coming today. So great!" Micah "Glad you came today. You look good man" Prince, never mind I'm not going to text him. He's fucking some girl tonight. He's the one that will make news one day. Not the paper, some scandal on TMZ or something. I dared not text Tyson. I didn't want to worry him. My realization, as I sat the phone down, was that I just informed my tiny social set how desperate I was on a Saturday night. They must be thinking how pitiful. Diesel texted back "at the tracks dude! Here's one for you!" That means he and the clan are down at the railroad tracks drinking beer. There was a clearing down off the old road that had been used by generations of teenagers for drinking purposes. Of course the cops knew about it so you had to be very careful coming out of there so you didn't get pulled over. I wandered into the living room and looked at the pictures of Tyson as he grew up. His mom styled him nicely as a little boy which might have shaped his style now since he was always, even on his worst day, perfect. Mom was still up in the air about the portrait of the first Mrs. Breck which hung over the fireplace. She and Bill had discussed it and he had volunteered to take it down. She suggested it stay as it was art and a fitting monument. "There was no competition,'' she said. A divorced wife would have been gone on the first day but not a deceased one. I walked into Bill's study and looked at books. There was one featuring collector's cars that looked good but I couldn't get past the third page. I dropped it on the table and walked back out. I took a seat at the large dining room table and sipped on my drink. It was dark in the room and might have looked like a scene from a scary movie. I finished the drink and took the glass back into the kitchen where I made another. I loved how the fresh ice clinked in the glass. I washed the crystal stirrer and returned it to the cabinet. If I was going to purge his liquor, I should at least respect the property. I spent a little while on the couch watching that annoying movie and enjoying my whiskey when it dawned on me. "Just give it up," I thought. Having finished the second drink, I washed the cocktail glass and put it back. I was stumbling a bit as my tolerance to the whiskey was not very high.I pulled myself up the stairs to my room and went to the bathroom to relieved myself then went into Ty's darkened room. I could smell him here. The cologne mixed with his natural scent. Everything was in its place. It was his inner sanctum. I went back to my room. I felt defeated. Completely alone. The bigger the house, the bigger the loneliness. I laid down on my bed with the light stemming from the small lamp on my dresser and rolled onto my good side and just went into a comatic state. No thought. No feeling. I heard the front door open a little after 11:30. The hall lights came on. Ty bolted up the stairs and came into my room. "Josh, hey, how're you doing?" I didn't move. He walked over to the far side of the bed so he could see my face. He wiped my bangs out of my eyes. "Hey, what's wrong Josh. You ok?" "Yea," I muttered. "You don't look good. Are you in pain?" "No." He bent forward and kissed my head. "I'm so sorry I had to leave you. I'm worried, Josh. Look up at me," he pleaded. I know he thought I was torturing him, getting him back but I really wasn't. I didn't have the energy or the drive. He sat quietly on the side of my bed and patted my hair. Then he bent down again, parting my bangs off my forehead again and kissed my forehead. "Hey Josh, I'm here now. I'm really here. I'm sorry," he whispered. "Not about you," I uttered. "Just not feeling much right now," I said. He sat there with me for a few minutes and we heard the parents enter through the front door. The car service must have let them out in front of the house. Mom came upstairs first. "Josh, honey, we're home," and she paused when she came in the door. "Josh, what's wrong? Ty, is something wrong?" she asked with worry in her voice. "No ma'am, I don't think he feels good right now. He won't move," and he kept patting my head. Mom came over to the bed and smoothed my hair back so she could see my face. "Josh, I'm worried. Are you ok? Just tell me," she demanded. "Yes, I'm ok!" I snapped. "Now stop with the questions, would you please!" Bill came in after her. "Holy shit," I thought! "Fucking family reunion here in my damn room in the middle of the night!" "Ah, it appears one of the dining room chairs was moved. Was there a problem?" he asked. "Do you perform a twelve point inspection everytime you walk through the door?" I yelled. "DO YOU ACTUALLY LOOK FOR DENTS IN THE CARPET!" Everyone was quiet now. "Hey, why don't you all go change and relax or go to bed," suggested Ty. "Let me stay here with him. He'll be ok, just not in the mood right now," he added. Bill stepped out of the room first and my mom left behind him. "Thank you," I said. "Not in the mood." I wasn't sure what the mood was. You might think it was because I was alone for a few hours but I felt it was bigger than that. It was all the attention and not the kind I wanted. Where were the lights and roaring fans? Where was the smell of grass and sweat? Where was my football and my uniform? All these people and yet, nothing I longed for, except Ty, of course. He was trying, I had to give him credit. . Ty got up and went into his room. I guess he undressed. I heard him in the bathroom running the sink. I knew this sound. This is where he sticks his head under the faucet to wash out the goop from his hair. Now, I'm in no playing mood but if you want to see Ty looking funny, downright hilarious, let him wake up with bedhead after sleeping on the goop. It's very funny. I heard the hairdryer and I know this part too. This is where he dries his hair and those gorgeous long blond strands drop over his forehead. This is the look I like. He doesn't believe me but this is when he's truly gorgeous, all natural. He stayed in a bit longer and I was about to doze off when I heard him go down to the parents room. He told them he was going to stay with me. They could talk tomorrow but to remember what Dr. Perrow said, the next day is a new day. Don't rehash the thunderstorm. It's just a storm and storms blow over. I hadn't heard Dr. Perrow tell them that but it was rational. Ty went back to his room for a while and all was quiet. A bit later he came back into my room and turned the lamp off. I hadn't looked up so I did not see that he was naked. He came into my bed and with some force pushed me onto my back. "What?" I whined. He climbed on top of me, careful of the side. "Oh fuck," I thought. "He is naked and sitting on top of me. He is going to cajole me out of my mood with a tease. Great!" While my head was saying "not interested," my body was saying something else. He bent down over me and kissed me. He came in strong too. Forced his lips into my mouth. Those soft puffy lips were too much to ignore. My hand lifted itself and I felt his curvature from his waist to his butt. His skin was like silk. He rocked on me. I felt the rhythm stirring in me. "What is this?" I asked. "Sympathy sex?" "You let me know when you see someone who feels sorry for you, Josh," he quipped. "Feeling sorry is for people who try and fail. Not people who experience tragedy. Now shut up and get on board!" he said in a demanding whisper. He pinched my nipple and it hurt. "Damn!" I said. Then he leaned forward and kissed it with his mouth. "Fire and ice," he said. Then he did it to the other one. "Fuck that hurt!" I hissed and again his mouth and tongue soothed the burn. My head started to reel. He started grinding on me again. I reached my hand behind and felt his asscheeks. My finger found his hole and it was warm and wet. He had lubed himself. Oh God. It was happening. I think we were about to fuck. He rolled himself over onto his back and urged me to come over and top him. I complied, I guess you would say. I looked into his eyes, and even though it was dark in my room, I could see him. I could sense what he wanted. He wanted me. Not wanting to ruin everything with spoken words, I asked, "Are you sure Ty? No buyers remorse tomorrow morning. No turning back," I suggested. "Please Josh, I have waited long enough and I have made you wait long enough. Give it to me, baby. Please," he hissed. Thy will be done, as they say. He lifted his legs to my waist, my face was crushed into his. I could smell his clean hair and tasted his saliva as our tongues and lips danced. My bandaged hand slid under the pillows while my good hand cupped the back of his head. With the cast on my leg, I felt like I was running on a flat tire but I wasn't going to let that deter me. I pushed and my rigid cock found his entrance with just a little direction, I eased into him sensing no sign of pain or discomfort. He urged me to push it all the way in and I did. Now this is where people, I think, like to hear about the pounding and all that porn stuff. It wasn't like that. I really could barely move inside him. It was tight, but it was hot and wet and soft. My right hand felt up the backside of his thigh as his legs raised higher to grant me access. While I was not doing much moving, he started some grinding. Our bodies were stuck together with sweat. I put my hand under his shoulder to hold him close. This was truly a fuck, the kind you won't see in porn. The kind people cannot talk about because there is no way to describe it. The other thing that you wouldn't find on this night was the "fuck me fuck me fuck me" shit. It adds nothing in my opinion. There came a moment where I knew I was getting close. Mind you, this was only about 10 minutes worth, and his body started to shudder. The shuddering stimulated me somehow. I felt the blast from his cock then I felt his cum seep between us then I smelled it. Him. His scent. It was all over me and it was over for me. I felt my first volley shoot inside him while I was pulling out. I shot a couple of more streams over his genitals, mixing with his cum. That burning sensation returned and I pushed into him and I think I came again. I was holding myself in plank position and his body rocked with me inside him. My teenage body was going nuts as every resource available was deployed to see this moment through to completion. I couldn't move for a bit. I kind of laughed for a minute. I couldn't believe we had done it. We had reached this milestone in the throws of my pity party. "I love you, Tyson Breck," I whispered. "I love you too, Joshua Warner. Baby," he replied. "I told you I gave it to people who didn't deserve it. This time I did," and he lifted his head slightly so I would kiss him some more. There was a few minutes of clean-up then he returned to my bed, unclothed, and climbed into his favorite place, that place where his head rests on my shoulder, and my arm holds him close. This is the rewarding part of being a man. When your boy trusts you completely, for him to want to feel your body and sleep on your shoulder. The fact that he sleeps so soundly this wayl, says to me, he's happy. He's where he belongs. I don't know if as many straight people enjoy this. I did believe what Dr. Perrow had said. The next day is another day.
