It was Sunday, the day I was to go to Colt's house for our tutoring session. I couldn't help but feel a mixture of nervousness and excitement. A thousand questions and scenarios ran through my head as I stood in front of my open wardrobe. I pulled out various outfits and held them up to the mirror, evaluating each one. I wanted to look nice, but not like I was trying too hard. After several outfit changes and a few exasperated sighs, I finally settled on a simple navy blue button-down shirt and a pair of well-fitted jeans. It was a casual look, but I hoped it struck the right balance between effort and nonchalance. As I dressed, my mind kept going back to Colt. His confident smile, his vibrant personality and the way his eyes lit up when he talked about something he was passionate about. As I tied my shoelaces, I heard the unmistakable sound of a car engine approaching. Colt had arrived. My stomach did a flip-flop and I quickly ran my fingers through my hair in a vain attempt to make it look neater. I hurried downstairs to open the door, my heart pounding in my chest. When I opened the door, there was Colt, casually leaning against his car, a charming grin on his face. "Hey, Scott," he greeted me with a twinkle in his eye. "Hey, Colt," I replied, my voice a little higher than usual. "You're here early." "Yeah, thought I'd save you the wait," he said, giving me a look that made my face flush. "Looking good, by the way." I managed a shy smile, grateful that the blush on my cheeks was hidden by the natural flush that seemed to have taken up permanent residence there. "Thank you. So, are you ready to go to your place?" "Absolutely," Colt said. "Let's go." We made our way to his car, and I couldn't help but glance at Colt as he drove. He had an easy confidence about him that I admired. It was clear that he wasn't letting anything hold him back, and that was something I wanted to learn from him. The drive to Colt's house was pleasant, filled with easy conversation and a growing sense of camaraderie. I couldn't help but feel that this was the beginning of something exciting. Colt's car pulled up to his house, and I couldn't help but be in awe. It was a large, elegant structure, with a manicured garden and a sweeping driveway. The exterior exuded wealth, and a pang of inadequacy washed over me. My own family's modest home was a far cry from this impressive mansion. Colt led me inside, and the interior was equally impressive. The spacious foyer featured a stunning chandelier that bathed the room in a warm, soft light. Tasteful artwork adorned the walls, and the plush carpet felt luxurious underfoot. It was a home that spoke of opulence and sophistication, and made me acutely aware of the contrast between our worlds. As we made our way inside, Colt's parents greeted us. "Scott, this is my mom, Sarah, and my dad, David," Colt said as he introduced me. His mother, Sarah, was a striking woman with long, flowing auburn hair that cascaded gracefully down her back. Her eyes were a deep hazel that seemed to hold the wisdom of years, and she had an elegant, statuesque presence. Sarah's poise and beauty were captivating, and it was impossible not to notice her. Colt's father, David, bore a striking resemblance to Colt. He had the same rugged good looks, with a strong jawline and piercing blue eyes that mirrored Colt's. Tall and broad-shouldered, David exuded an air of quiet confidence. It was clear where Colt got his good looks and charisma. Colt himself shared his father's striking blue eyes and had inherited his mother's height, standing tall and proud. His resemblance to both his parents was obvious, and it was easy to see why he was such a handsome young man. Meeting Colt's parents left me with the distinct impression that they were not only a family of means, but also blessed with extraordinary good looks. It was impossible not to feel a twinge of self-consciousness in their presence. The combined force of their charisma was overwhelming, but their warm greetings helped to put me at ease. "Nice to meet you both," I replied, shaking their hands. "Thank you for inviting me." Sarah smiled warmly. "Our pleasure, Scott. Colt's told us so much about you." David patted Colt's shoulder. "Yes, he's talked about you non-stop. He's never brought a boyfriend home before." My cheeks flushed with embarrassment at his father's comment. "I'm not... We don't... I mean..." I stammered, struggling to find the right words. "I think what Scott is trying to say is that he's not my boyfriend," Colt interrupted. "Oh, I'm sorry!" David said. "Colt's never talked about another guy before, and he can't stop complimenting you, so we just assumed. I didn't mean to embarrass you." "Don't get me wrong, Dad," Colt chimed in, "I want Scott to be my boyfriend, but he turned me down. But don't worry, I'm going to charm him." I went from embarrassed to completely flabbergasted, my mouth hanging open. "No, I didn't... Colt is... But I... I..." I tried to say, but the words eluded me. "I can see why you don't want to be his boyfriend," Sarah said. "Colt, don't embarrass your friends like that!" "Yeah," David added. "And if Colt ever bothers you, you can let us know and we will talk to him." Their playful yet serious tone reassured me, and my racing heart began to slow. "Thanks, but Colt is fine. I'm just his tutor." "Right, and now that you see I have a tutor, we can go to my room to study." "No, mister," David said. "You can study in the dining room. That way we'll be sure you're studying and not 'charming' him." "I can assure you we are only studying!" I tried to defend Colt. "We trust you, dear," Sarah said, her friendly hand landing lightly on my shoulder as she smiled at me. "It's him we don't trust." "What?!" exclaimed Colt. "I'm your son, you should believe me." "You are our son," David said. "And that's why we know you." Colt pouted, but it was clear he wasn't really angry with them. "You can set up here," Sarah said, pointing to a large table in the dining room. "We'll give you some space. Don't worry, would you like something to drink, Scott?" "No, thank you, Ms. Jensen." "Oh, please, call me Sarah." She smiled and gently led me to the table. I followed Colt and took a seat next to him. As Colt and I settled into the comfortable living room, textbooks and notebooks spread out in front of us, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of nervousness and excitement. The atmosphere was different from our previous encounters in the cafeteria and library; here we were on his turf, where he was more in control. Colt leaned back in his chair, a playful grin on his face. "So, Scott, what's on the agenda for today's tutoring session?" I opened my notebook, trying to regain some semblance of composure. "Well, let's start with the chemistry problems we worked on last time. Balancing equations, right?" Colt nodded, his expression serious as he leaned in, ready to learn. As we delved into the intricacies of chemical reactions, my earlier nervousness began to fade. It was easy to forget about my feelings for Colt when we were engrossed in academic discussions. Hours passed, and our tutoring session continued. Colt proved to be a quick learner, and his curiosity made teaching him enjoyable. We shared laughter over some of the more complex concepts, and it became apparent that our connection extended beyond physical attraction. At one point, while explaining the concept of stoichiometry, Colt leaned in closer to get a better look at my notes. His proximity sent a shiver down my spine, but I powered through the moment, determined to be the best tutor I could be. The afternoon sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room as we worked through problem after problem. With each passing minute, I couldn't help but appreciate Colt's dedication to improving his grades. It was a side of him I hadn't seen before, and it only added to my admiration. As the tutoring session neared its end, Colt stretched and let out a hearty yawn, looking both satisfied and a tad bit fatigued. His eyes bore a glimmer of appreciation. "You've been a real lifesaver, Scott. I can't thank you enough for helping me crack the mysteries of all this chemistry stuff." I couldn't help but beam with a sense of accomplishment. "It's been a pleasure, Colt. You've been a fantastic student, and I'm genuinely thrilled that I could assist you." Colt's expression turned earnest. "I'm really grateful, and here's what I owe you." He handed me some cash. "Let me at least drive you home." I considered his offer. "No, it's OK I'm not going home actually. And a nice walk sounds just perfect." He chuckled. "If that's what you want." We made our way back to where Colt's parents were. I exchanged warm goodbyes with them, and Colt walked me to the front door. "Then, I guess I'll see you at school," Colt said. I nodded and offered a smile. "Yeah, see you." I left Colt's house and headed towards the animal shelter, a mile away. There, I devoted a fulfilling hour to the daily tasks, and I spent quality time with Lucky. He seemed to be recovering well, his tail wagging tirelessly. Although he still faced some medical challenges, his overall demeanor was a positive sign. With my heart warmed by Lucky's progress, I returned home, my tiredness gradually giving way to a sense of contentment. That night, I slept soundly, dreams filled with a mix of chemistry equations and wagging dog tails. The following day at school, I managed to keep my distance from Colt. Despite the magnetic pull of his presence, I needed some time and space to sort through my emotions. After the final school bell rang, I gathered a selection of my best notebooks and embarked on a familiar journey to Alejandro's studio. As I arrived, I noticed that the door was invitingly open, and I ventured inside. "Hello, is there anyone here?" I called out. "It's Scott. We met the other day at your exhibit." A voice echoed from one of the rooms. "Oh yeah, Scott. Come in." I followed the voice and entered a room where Alejandro was working. He was dressed casually in disheveled jeans, and I couldn't help but admire his physical presence. His olive skin was covered in a thin layer of dark hair, accentuating his well-defined pecs and solid six-pack. He was certainly a match for Colt in the looks department. "Hey, Scott," he greeted, extending a welcoming hand. For a brief moment, I was caught off guard, my eyes inadvertently lingering on his sculpted physique. Quickly regaining my composure, I shook his hand with a genuine smile. "Hey, thanks for taking the time to see me." Alejandro grinned, a playful glint in his eye. "No problem. Show me what you've got." I handed Alejandro my notebooks, feeling a mix of anticipation and excitement. He accepted them with a nod, and I watched as he carefully flipped through the pages, his gaze intent on each drawing. As he examined each piece, I couldn't help but feel exposed, as if he were peering into my soul through my art. "These are good," he said, his voice measured. "You have a natural talent for capturing emotion. Your lines are fluid, and you're not afraid to experiment with different styles." A sense of relief washed over me, and I couldn't help but smile. Alejandro's praise was like a balm to my self-doubt. "But," he continued, "there's always room for improvement. Art is a journey, Scott, and you're just starting." He began offering suggestions and technical advice, pointing out areas where I could refine my technique and deepen the emotional impact of my work. I hung onto his every word, feeling a sense of connection through our shared love for art. As we talked, time seemed to blur, and I lost track of the hours. Alejandro was not only a talented artist but also a patient and insightful teacher. His guidance was invaluable, and I couldn't help but admire how his passion for art shone through in every word. By the time our session concluded, I had a newfound sense of purpose and inspiration. Alejandro had not only helped me grow as an artist but had also become a mentor and a friend. I couldn't wait to put his advice into practice and continue on my artistic journey. "Thank you, Alejandro," I said, genuinely grateful. "This means a lot to me." He smiled, his eyes filled with genuine warmth. "It's my pleasure, Scott. Why don't you come back in a couple of days, and I'll show you some of the techniques I told you about." "I'd like that, yes!" I said excitedly, with a big smile on my face. With those parting words, I left the room and as I was about to cross the threshold I turned around hoping to catch a last glimpse at his sculpted body but instead I caught him looking directly at me. He simply smiled and went back to work. As I made my way home, I couldn't help but reflect on the unexpected turns my life had taken recently. From tutoring Colt to receiving guidance from Alejandro, I was on a path of self-discovery and growth, and I couldn't wait to see where it would lead me next. *** A few uneventful days passed after that, during which I adhered to my usual routine: school, home, study, and attempts to enhance my drawings based on Alejandro's advice. Although I couldn't keep my distance from Colt forever, it wasn't until one Thursday, as I was leaving school, that our paths intersected. "Hey, Scott," he greeted me with a warm smile. "I haven't seen you around in a while." "Hey, Colt," I replied, my voice slightly uneasy. "Well, it's a pretty big school, and we don't have any classes together, so it's not that surprising." Colt's smile widened as he looked directly at me. "But I was looking for you, so it is weird. Almost like you were trying to avoid me." My nerves betrayed me with a subtle tremor. "I don't know what you're talking about; I've just been busy," I stammered. He laughed, a hearty, infectious laugh that was hard to resist. "It's okay. Now I'm seeing you, so I'm happy." As we walked side by side out of the school premises, Colt continued to look at me with a reassuring grin. His warm, comforting smile held a certain allure, one that could easily ensnare anyone's heart. I knew many would be captivated by that smile, but I couldn't allow myself to be one of them. I needed to stay focused. "Let me drive you home this time," he offered. "Thanks, but I'm not going home," I replied. "Oh, are you going to your secret location again, like last Sunday?" "Well, yeah, but it's not a secret location." "May I ask where you're going, then?" "Sure, I'm going to the animal shelter." "Are you picking up a dog?" he asked. "No, I volunteer there. I go a couple of times a week to help out since they're short-staffed." "Wow, you're amazing. I'm falling even more for you." "Colt, please," I said, my cheeks turning a deep shade of crimson. "Sorry, sorry. But it's true; I'm impressed. You are a very good person." His compliment made me blush even more, and it felt strangely pleasant to hear such words from him. My heart quickened, and I realized this wasn't good. "Can I come too? I'd love to help." "I mean, sure, but it's not very fun work. Mostly chores." "That's okay; I don't mind." We continued to the shelter in relative silence, exchanging occasional small talk about school and baseball. Upon arriving, we saw Julie, one of the shelter workers, busy assisting people at the receptionist desk. So, Colt and I made our way to the back of the shelter to begin our volunteer work. "Wow," Colt remarked, stopping in front of one of the drawings I had created for one of the shelter animals. "Did you draw this?" "Yeah, I make them in my free time. You know, to post on social media and encourage people to come and adopt." "They're beautiful; you're very talented." I felt myself blush again. "Thanks." "So, what do you need me to do?" Colt asked. "Well, the dogs are out right now, so we need to clean their cages." "Consider it done." "Alright, you can find the cleaning supplies over there." We divided the tasks and set to work, focusing on our chores in silence. Even with both of us working diligently, it took us a solid hour to clean everything, refill the water bowls, and attend to all the other necessary tasks. When I checked what Colt had done, I found everything in order. "We're done," I announced proudly as I surveyed the freshly cleaned cages. "Yeah, that was harder than I thought," Colt admitted. "To be honest, I'm surprised that the great pitcher Colt did all of this without even complaining," I teased. A shadow crossed Colt's face, his smile disappearing, and I detected a hint of sadness in his eyes. "To be honest, I'm a little hurt that's what you think of me." I immediately felt like an ass for my thoughtless comment. Panic seized me; I hadn't intended to cause him pain. "I'm sorry, Colt, I was just joking!" I rushed to apologize. "It's okay. I guess we don't really know each other after all." I fell into an uncomfortable silence, unsure of what to say, fearful of making things worse. "Let's get to know each other better," Colt finally broke the uneasy quiet. "What?" I was taken aback by the unexpected proposal. "Let's go on a date. Just the two of us, so we can learn more about each other." His request caught me off guard. I was still grappling with my feelings for Colt, and I hesitated. "I don't know, Colt; I don't think it's such a great idea." "Only one date, please. We'll have a good meal, talk about our lives. And afterward, if you don't like what you learned about me, about who I am, then I promise I won't bother you again." I contemplated his words, torn between my apprehensions and the desire to explore this burgeoning connection. "I don't know." "Please, just think about it," Colt implored. "I'll think about it." "Thank you." We awkwardly left the shelter that evening, each heading our separate ways. I walked home, while Colt returned to his car. I had promised to think about it, but deep down, I knew I couldn't go on a date with Colt. It would only lead to more confusion and heartache, and that wasn't worth it. However, if I just go on this one date with him I could put him behind me once and for all. The problem with that plan is that I would probably fall even more in love with him, and it will make it harder to forget about him. *** The next day, my mind still in turmoil over Colt's proposal, I eagerly made my way to Alejandro's studio. I had been looking forward to this, keen on witnessing his artistic process up close. As a fan of his art style, I was excited to delve into the techniques and inspirations that fueled his work. The studio door stood ajar, just as it had been on my previous visit. Having been here before, I knew my way around. I hesitated for a moment before speaking up, my curiosity getting the better of me. "Alejandro? Are you here? Can I come in?" I inquired, my voice tentative. "It's Scott, by the way." "Scott, of course, come in. I was waiting for you," he replied warmly. With his consent, I pushed open the door and entered his room. However, to my utter shock, this time, he wasn't shirtless; he was entirely naked. My cheeks flushed crimson as embarrassment washed over me, and I quickly averted my gaze. "Why did he tell me to come in if he wasn't clothed?" I thought, flustered. "I'm so sorry! I didn't know! I'm going to leave!" I stammered, making a hasty attempt to exit the room. "Stop, Scott! It's okay! We're both men!" he reassured me. "Yeah, okay... I'm sorry..." I babbled in embarrassment. "I'll just wait here for you to get dressed." "I thought we could start by having some fun," Alejandro suggested. "What?" My confusion grew, and I struggled to comprehend the situation. Then, I felt him press up against my back, his hands gripping my hips tightly. My immediate reaction was to step away, breaking free from his grasp, and turning to face him. I was completely flustered by his unexpected advances. "What are you doing?" I demanded, my voice bordering on a shout. This time I got a good look at him, especially at his penis, which I hadn't seen before. It had the same olive complexion as his skin, and even though it was flaccid, it was large. It had to be at least 6 inches and thick. It was uncut, and only the top of its head showed its dark purple color. It rested on two huge and asymmetrical testicles. He had quite a package. "I can't wait to fuck you, you have such a nice ass," he said, licking his lips. "So, we'll do it first and then we'll move on to your lesson." "What? No, I don't ... We're not ... No..." I stammered in shock and discomfort. "What?!" His tone shifted suddenly, his anger rising. "You think I'm just helping you out with your lousy drawing for free? No. I'm going to take your ass. Especially after how you've been flirting and teasing me." I was bewildered by his accusations. "What is he talking about?" I thought. "I didn't flirt with him, did I?" "I ... I wasn't flirting ... I don't want to ... I mean ... I don't think I ..." I struggled to find words, but my thoughts were jumbled. Not only had I just learned that Alejandro was gay, but he seemed to be interested in me. His advances had taken me entirely by surprise, and I wasn't sure how to respond. "You're just a little slut, why are you playing hard to get?!" "I'm not!" I retorted, my voice shaky with confusion and distress. "Oh, please. You can't even stop looking at my dick. Stop playing innocent and let's do this." He took a step toward me, advancing menacingly. "Sorry!" I shouted as I bolted away, tears forming in my eyes. I didn't stop running, never looking back until I reached the bus stop. Fortunately, a bus arrived shortly after, and I boarded it immediately, taking a seat in the nearly empty vehicle. It was only then that the tears began to flow. The sudden and unexpected encounter had overwhelmed me emotionally. The bus ride provided some respite, helping me regain my composure. As I mulled over the events of the day, two things became clear to me. Firstly, it seemed that many men could be as despicable as James. My prior belief that only a select few were like him had been shattered; apparently, most men shared his propensity for cruelty. Secondly, had this happened a few months ago, I might have agreed to Alejandro's advances. Back then, I was a virgin, and the thought of being with a man as attractive as Alejandro would have been a dream come true. That was until I rejected him. Until that point, he had been nothing but kind to me. However, now that I had grown closer to Colt, I couldn't fathom being with anyone else. This realization posed a significant dilemma. Lost in thought, I nearly missed my stop. With little desire to return home, I decided to head to my secret spot in the forest. I sat down at the picnic table, burying my face in my hands. Although I was no longer weeping, my eyes were still moist. The past few hours had been an emotional whirlwind: I had transitioned from fear to sadness, and finally to a profound understanding of my feelings for Colt. I didn't know how to navigate this situation. Just as I began thinking about him, Colt emerged from the bushes, clad in his running gear and glistening with sweat. "Scott! What a nice surprise," he exclaimed upon spotting me, removing his earphones. "Colt. What are you doing here?" I inquired. "This is on my jogging route, but I wasn't expecting to run into you since you haven't been here in a while." I stared blankly at him, at a loss for words. "What's going on?" he asked, his keen eyes detecting the redness in mine. He closed the distance between us, positioning himself right in front of me. "Did your dad hurt you again?!" "No! No, it's nothing like that," I quickly responded. "Then what is it? Tell me what's going on," he insisted. "It's nothing, Colt. I don't want to talk about it," I said, turning my head away to avoid his gaze. However, he took a seat next to me. "You're clearly upset, and I'm not leaving until you tell me what's going on." Colt's concern was so palpable that my initial anger and reluctance began to dissipate. His genuine care for me was evident, and it softened my resistance. "There's this artist I really like," I began, my voice quivering with vulnerability, "and I got to meet him. He said I could bring him some of my drawings so he could take a look, and he just said they weren't good. That's it. I don't know why I'm upset; it's just a hobby anyway." I couldn't bring myself to reveal the entire truth, the awkward encounter with Alejandro. I was too embarrassed, so I settled for this half-truth, hoping it would suffice and spare me further probing questions. "That guy is an idiot!" Colt exclaimed, his protective instinct flaring. "You're an amazing artist! I love your drawings. Do you want me to go kick his ass?" I chuckled at his offer, grateful for his unwavering support. "No, but thanks, Colt." Before I could say anything else, Colt drew me into a tight, comforting hug. He apologized for being sweaty, but I didn't care. I nestled my face into his neck, wrapping my arms around his back, holding him tightly. We remained locked in this embrace for a good five minutes, and Colt made no move to end it. It felt incredibly reassuring to be held by him, and in his arms, my worries and sadness seemed to dissolve. As we finally broke the silence, I mustered the courage to say, "Yes." "Yes?" Colt responded, his confusion evident. I released our hug just enough to look him in the eyes and then replied, "Yes, I'll go on a date with you."
