He tried to get up, but his feet didn't wanna co-operate. He leaned down and took a closer look. Behind his back he could feel his suspicions aswell. Both his upper legs and feet aswell as his hands was tied up with some or other material. He tried to scream but his mouth was also taped closed. Now Nathan was starting to get worried and just a litle bit nervous and scared inside his chest. It was obvious that he was kidnapped or taken somewhere against his will. Just then his head lurged upwards as he suddenly saw light as the door was opened. A large, pale white man entered and shut the door yet again. He came to the middle of the room and placed a tray of food onto the cold marble floor. Nathan's stomach was positively screaming for food, but he had a feeling that it wasn't going to be as simple as placing the food into his mouth. Suddenly the tape on his mouth was ripped off, and Nathan let out a huge scream of pain, before trying desperately to catch his breath afterwards. The man standing before him, he had seen him before. On the island...he was a guest at the hotel. And he was one of the two dudes that he saw at those rock statues, and it could have been the person who shot at him and Ritchie. "I see that you are awake, amigo. Sleep well?" the guy asked in very bad English. He then walked right around Nathan, who didn't know what to say. "I bet you are wondering where you are, no?" he spoke again, before reaching the tray of food. He picked up a piece of steak and held it upwards infront of Nathan's face. Just as Nathan wanted to lurge forward, the steak was ripped from him, and left swinging above him. "What the fuck do you want from me? Who are you?" Nathan screamed in frustration from his sore throat. "My name is Cristo Rodriguez and I had to get you here because you and your friend refused to mind your own business." "Where is Ritchie? What have you done to him? If you hurt that dude, I swear I will..." "You will what? You cannot do anything. Nothing. I want those diamonds, and not you, not your friend, and not anyone is gonna stop me from getting them. And until I do, you are going no where. Comprendo?" "Is that what you and that diver were after? Is that what is hidden in those rock statues? Diamonds?" "Si, mui bien, you learn fast. I am going back to the hotel now and make the annoucement that the statues needs to be take down. And when I have my diamonds, you get to live." Cristo, still with the piece of steak in his hand, threw it towards Nathan while laughing his crazy ass head off and walked out of the room. Nathan had no way to eat the steak...his hands was still tied to his back. He threw himself onto the floor and sailed his way on his stomach towards the tray of food. Like a fucking dog, a mere animal and parasite, he lowered his head and started to engulf the plate of food as quick as he could. He would need the energy. After he had licked the plate clean he fell onto his right side and desperately started to cry. He thought about his parents, for whom he wanted a better future, therefore working so hard in his Tourism course. All he wanted was to come to Bermuda and have a good time, and get some work experience, and now he was smack bang caught up in a diamond smuggling operation, it seemed. The only person who could possibely save him now... was Ritchie. He gave out a small laugh between the tears rolling down his face. The person he had hated ever since meeting him was now the only person who could save him, because he was the only one who knew what was going on. The last thing that Nathan could remember was that he pushed Cindy away from him wanting to have sex with her after Ritchie had told him at the hospital that he was inlove with him. As Nathan layed there on that cold floor, he realised that he really missed Ritchie. It was because of Ritchie that he did as well in everything that they did together. Because he desperately wanted to match Ritchie or even defeat him. They brought out the best in eachother. Nathan closed his eyes and thought of Ritchie's image before his eyes. A few more tears slipped out of his eyes as he did so. When he thought about it, he would admit that he felt the same about Ritchie. If...no, when he gets out of here, he would tell Ritchie that he felt exactly the same about him. But before then, he had to pray and hope that Cristo gets hold of the diamonds, because those little stones was the only thing keeping him alive at this moment. At this time Mr Coleman had informed Cindy and Jessica and the hotel management of Nathan's dissapearance. He thought that he would tell Ritchie when he gets back from the hospital. What the hell was going on here in Bermuda? First the hotel almost burns down and Donnie gets killed, Ritchie ends up in hospital and now Nathan has been missing. There was the ambulance just now, as the rest of the guests got a little worried as to why an ambulance would arrive at the the hotel. Mr Coleman quickly jogged outside and met up with the nurse that was helping Ritchie out of the ambulance. "Thank you for everything you guys have done to make sure he was okay," he told the nurse, who friendly shook his head before showing the release forms that both Ritchie and Coleman had to sign. Simple as that, and they were off. Ritchie was sitting in a wheelchair as his ankle was still too sore to be fully used, while Mr Coleman got behind it and pushed him towards the room which ofcourse Ritchie and Nathan both shared. As they entered, Ritchie immediately wondered where Nathan was. The last time they saw ecahother yesterday, Ritchie had just confessed about being inlove with him, and he can still remember his heart dropping a few emotional inches as Nathan had simply just walked out before he could explain. Before Ritchie could ask Mr Coleman if Nathan was out on a tour or shit like that, he watched as the teacher parked his chair before the sofa, and then the latter sat down opposite him. "Ritchie, I really didn't wanna do this because I know what you guys have been through in the last couple of days. But as his roommate and classmate, you need to know. Nathan has been missing since early last night." "What?" Ritchie asked, the information that he has just been given not quite fully reaching his brain. "What I'm saying is...Cindy was the last person to see Nathan last night around 6 a clock, and from then onwards he hasn't been seen again. I don't want you guys to worry, because he might just be wanting some time to himself..." "Bullshit, Sir! With all due respect, me and you both know that Nathan will never do something like just going off and leaving his duties! Not Nathan!" Ritchie said, feeling the extreme need to defend the boy he loved. Mr Coleman sighed and ran his hand through his grayish hair. "No Ritchie, you're absolutely right. Nathan love what he does too much, he was never the type of guy who would do something like this. Question then is...where the hell is he then?" Just then both Cindy and Jessica entered the room, with the latter still having unshead tears in her eyes about Donnie's death. Both took place next to Mr Coleman on the sofa. "Sir, we really need to speak to you," Cindy said, before looking nervously at Jessica, and then back to Coleman. "We feel that we're not safe here anymore and wanted to know if we can go back to South Africa sooner?" "Girls I'm sorry, those tickets were paid for the exact day that we would be going back! They would have to cancel someone else's reservation to accomodate you and that's never gonna happen, not with an airline." "Then we wanna get booked into another hotel, Sir. Because this one had nearly burned down with us inside, Donnie died, Ritchie has been in hospital and now Nathan was dissapeared...I mean come on! Sir, even you have to see that its not safe here!" Jessica begged, those previously mentioned tears now streaming over her face. "All that I can do is allow you to use the internet service of the hotel and let you ask your parents if they are willing to book you a seat on their own expence. You guys knew coming here that everything was paid for beforehand!" "Guys, lets just chill for a moment, okay?" Ritchie said, with everyone now staring at him. He decided this was the right moment to tell them what he and Nathan had uncovered. "What I'm about to tell you, you cannot tell to anyone else! Mr Coleman, not even the hotel manager, because we don't know who we can trust." "I don't follow...?" Coleman asked with a frown across his brow. Ritchie took a deep breath and started to speak: "Three days ago, the night when we got here, I woke up early the next morning. I heard a noise outside and saw a man speaking to a microphone radio outside the window. It was all in Spanish so I couldn't understand most of it. After that, another young man dressed in diving gear came rushing out the water and they left together. Now a couple of hours later, Nathan got into trouble when he saw a guy in the water, who looked like he was searching for something, so he offered to him, the guy I mean. He nearly ended up killed! The guy tried to drown him! Mr Coleman, that's why we told you that Nathan was sick from a tropical illness, because we wanted to keep Nathan away from being seen after what had happened." "Why the hell am I finding out about this only now? If I had known I would have arranged for Nathan to be placed in another hotel or at least called the police!" Mr Coleman asked, clearly furious with Ritchie. "We had never been caught in something like this, Sir, we didn't know what to do. Later that night Nathan had sneaked out because he saw two people at those rock statues, at the same place where he saw the guy who tried to kill him. Then somebody shot at us, but we managed to escape unharmed. Next thing the hotel is petrol bombed! And now Nathan has dissapeared! Don't you see? There's a pattern here!" "Cindy, when you saw Nathan last night, what was his mood like, was he scared, did he perhaps say something in connection to what Ritchie just told us? Think, please think!" Mr Coleman said, turning his attention to her. Cindy knew that if she told the truth, she would have to reveal how she offered Nathan sex in exchange for getting along better with Ritchie for her own accord. She also didn't wanna say that she and Nathan almost had sex last night before he totally lost his temper and pushed her away, telling her to fuck off. She knew that Nathan was missing, but she didn't think that what happened between them was any reason for that. She sat up right and put on her best acting face. "Last night he told me he got back from visiting Ritchie and he was...weird. He...uhm...he just told me not to bother him and he went to his room. That was it," Cindy said. It wasn't exactly a lie, but not quite the truth either. Ritchie's heart dropped even further down his stomach. Just before he had told Nathan how he felt about him. Could Nathan have...oh God...could he have run away because of what he had told him? Was it because he couldn't stand being around him now that he knew Ritchie's secret? Could it be that this entire thing had nothing to do with those men? But that HE...Ritchie...was the reason that Nathan just left everything that was special to him, of which he worked so hard, and LEFT?? Because of him...? That night Ritchie found it near impossible to go to sleep. He wondered every second of every minute of every hour where the hell Nathan was. The Bermudan police had come and taken statements from him, Cindy, Jessica and Mr Coleman. Where the hell could Nathan be?? WHERE?? The next morning, Ritchie was woken up by a fierce knock on the door, and he heard Mr Coleman shouting from behind it. "Ritchie, come on quick! The hotel manager wants to speak to us!" Ritchie stood up, him still dressed in the clothes from the previous day and rushed his way to the fronk desk and reception. Mr Rekofela was standing there with a fax in his hand. He was franctically waving it around. "Mr Coleman, this has just come, i thought it must be important!" he yelled, immediately propping the fax into Mr Coleman's hands, who in turn quickly started to read it. The further he read, the paler his face became. After finishing reading, he dropped the fax, with a still shocked look on his face. There was no way Ritchie was gonna wait until Coleman had come to his sences. He leaned down and picked up the fax and started to read. "I have your friend. You can have him back Then I want in return What is mine Any police, any trace of this fax Your friend I will kill to the max" "What the hell can this mean? What do you or us have that they want in exchange for Nathan?" Ritchie demanded. Both Mr Rekofela and Coleman simply shook their heads in defeat. It was then it had hit Ritchie straight between the eyes...the answer layed at those rock statues!! Whatever the kidnappers wanted, he KNEW it HAD to be something to do with those statues! Cindy, Jessica and Ritchie himself had been relieved from the tourist duties at least until there was more news concerning Nathan. They were told to stay inside their rooms with a security guard securely placed infront of them that morning. Ritchie told the guard in charge of him that he had lost his sun-glasses earlier that morning in the water and he desperately wanted to look for them. The guard, who didn't seem like the brightest ever spark, allowed it, and along with a shovel, Ritchie and his guard left for the water. As Ritchie came close to where the statues were, his heart was now positively in his throat. Something somewhere around here was so valuble to those Spanish fuckers that they had felt the need to kidnap Nathan for it. He just hoped that he was correct in this. He was doing this for Nathan. Nathan...Ritchie shook his head. He couldn't be emotional right now. Nathan needed him. Meanwhile Nathan was thirsty beyond belief! It was over 24 hours since he last had something to drink and his body was defintely letting him feel that. the saliva in his mouth seemed to have dried up as he also had difficulty to swallow or lick his lips. The door once more opened and Cristo entered, his face full of laughter. He had a glass of water in his hand. "Soon...soon you can go. But only when I have my diamonds. Im waiting for them to respond. Shame, you must be hungry for this water..." Cristo said with his evil smile as he turned the glass over and allowed the water to gently flow out of the glass and onto the filthy floor. Nathan groaned as saw, heard and then eventually felt the water splashing onto the ground. He closed his eyes and willed himself to stay awake. He knew that if he fell asleep now...that he may not wake up. Suddenly there was another sound, the sound of a cellphone ringing. Cristo dropped the glass, making it splatter into hundereds of small pieces before digging out his phone and answering. "Hola? QUE?" Immediately, even though not speaking a word of Spanish, Nathan knew that something was terribly wrong. "BASTARDO!! Si, si voy a estar ahi." Cristo then turned towards Nathan and suddenly kicked the boy in the stomach as hard as he could. Nathan's eyes was bulging as the pain spread through his entire body, but his moans was subsided with the tape around his mouth. "Your friend is digging up what is MINE! You come with me! I will kill you infront of him!" Cristo screamed as he viciously pulled and dragged Nathan to his feet and forced him out of the door. He pushed him to his BMW, opened the door and bundled the boy's beaten body inside, before making sure that Nathan couldn't escape by any means. He then got into the driver's seat, started the engine and drove off as fast as he could. He HAD to stop that other boy from finding his treasure! Once more Ritchie screamed to the guard that he yet hadn't found his sun-glasses as he dived under the water yet again and crushed the rock statues with the shovel he had with him. There has to be something somewhere! He kicked and beat the rocks with the shovel, he picked up bigger looser rocks from the bottom in between the crystal clear sand underwater and pulvarised them against the statues. He WAS NOT gonna give up! There had to be SOMETHING!! Once more he picked up the wet shovel and pounded the rocks, until he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He immediately dropped the shovel and dove underwater. It was sheer luck that the waters here was so clear...and he could immediately see what he was looking for. He picked it up swiftly and headed to the surface. He wiped his wet hair out of his eyes as he brought up his hand containing the object to surface aswell. His eyes could not be decieving him...it was a fucking uncut diamond staring him in the face. This was enough evidence that to prove that this was what the kidnappers wanted and the quickly got out of the water, completely ignoring his security guard as he raced to Mr Coleman's room. The guard outside it remembered him as one of Coleman's students and allowed him in. "Mr Coleman! I think this was what the kidnappers was talking about! Look!" Coleman's eyes widened as he saw the uncut diamond in Ritchie's hand. "Do you have any idea what this is worth? Where the hell did you find this?" "At those rock statues me and Nathan saw those men numerous times! We have to let the kidnappers know that they can come collect this and whatever there still is, so that they had give us back Nathan!" Coleman nodded and together they rushed out of the room and to Mr Rekofela. After they had told them their story, he agreed that this was more than likely what the kidnappers referred to, but before he alerted the kidnappers via the fax number they sent the message from, he wanted to see where Ritchie had found the diamond. "Young man, I have been living on this island for over 30 years, so I think I am allowed to see where you have found this. Remember, they said that whatever they wanted, it was something that belonged to them. I want to see where you got this!" "Whatever, I'll show you, but please let us just hurry!" Ritchie screamed as he lead the two men outside. Just as Ritchie reached the shore, they all saw a black BMW car pulled upwards along the shore. The driver got out very quickly and Ritchie was shocked to see that he held a gun in his hand and that it was pointed straight to him. "BASTARDO!! I can kill your friend anytime I want, but you decide to play inspector and find the diamonds, no? Where is it? Por que??" Cristo screamed at Ritchie, who knew that he had to play it very cool now. One wrong answer and this man will kill the boy he loved more than any other. "You can have it. I have one of them right here," he said, opening his hand and showing Cristo the diamond sparkling inside. Cristo smiled, before moving to the back of the car, opening the door and pulling Nathan out. Ritchie nearly dropped the diamond when he saw in what state Nathan was in. "What the hell did you do to him, you fucker?" he yelled, his emotions taking over, to hell with what happened to himself. "I take him, because Bermuda had took what belonged to me!" Cristo yelled once more, moving Nathan ever closer to Ritchie. "Now just wait a minute here...if those diamonds had come from those rock statues, that is the property of Bermuda and certainly not yours!" Mr Rekofela said. Cristo turned his attention to Mr Rekofela before turning the gun on the latter with the speed of lightning and pulling the trigger. Ritchie screamed as the dead body of the hotel manager collasped next to him. "You see what you have done? Give me diamond now!" Cristo then screamed. Ritchie nervously moved forward and placed the diamond inside Cristo hand palm. Cristo smiled before he pushed Nathan towards the ground, before climbing on top of the boy, who moaned in the pain that he was in of having a full grown man on top of him. "You sick fucker! He can't handle your fucking weight! You have your precious diamond so let him go!" Ritchie burst out angrily. Cristo just laughed in his face. "You think there is only one of diamond in there? No, mi amigo, that whole statue is full of gold jewels! And your friend here will not be out of sight until I have them all!" Ritchie didn't know why he did it. His brain honestly didn't work anymore. He didn't even know where he found the guts. He jumped straight at Cristo and pushed the man off Nathan. Mr Coleman quickly reacted to Cristo's surprised attack that he grabbed Nathan by his feet and dragged him to safely. Meanwhile the fight between Cristo and Ritchie was fast becoming one for life and death. Both knew that they couldn't afford to lose, otherwise they would be dead. Mr Coleman was screaming for the hotel security, God he felt so helpless! He desperately wanted to help Ritchie but he was afraid he would do more harm than good. Where was the fucking police? Just then he saw a person literally flying past him onto the white warm sand, towards the battle going on down there. Cristo gave Ritchie a tremendous kick on his balls, to finally end the challenge of the younger boy. He quickly picked up the gun from where it had fallen and pointed it straight towards Ritchie, who was unable to even get up due to the severe pain inside his balls. Cristo laughed and then stumbled towards Ritchie. There was no way he could miss. "Adios..." he whispered before pulling the trigger. Ritchie closed his eyes. He knew that his short time on Earth had come to an end. He prepared himself for the pain that would take him to the Man upstairs... he heard the shot... but there was none as he felt his body being pushed into the water. Quickly he covered his body in the fetus position when he heard two more shot being fired. This time there was no way he couldn't be dead...or was there? Ritchie was pulled up by what he could smell was Mr Coleman before he opened his eyes. Cristo aswell as Nathan was laying on the sand, with a strange red liquid both seeping from their seemingly dead bodies. "NO!! NATHAN!! NATHAN!!" Ritchie screamed before he was taken away from the danger. Mr Coleman picked up Ritchie's shaking body and walked with him towards the hotel. The hotel doctor was very helpful as they have the screaming, crying boy a seditive to help him sleep...but it would NOT help him forget. Is Nathan really dead? Who shot both him and Cristo? How will Ritchie cope with the fact that the boy he loved may be gone? DON'T WORRY?this story will have a good ending!!
