Cole's Redemption Chapter 11 In the greenest of our valleys By good angels tenanted, Once a fair and stately palace-- Radiant palace--reared its head. Edgar Allen Poe The Haunted Palace Cole The next morning, I awoke first, and Kevin was still asleep. We must have used up more energy last night making love for the first time than I thought we had. I felt a little tired, but I also knew that Kevin had been busy with other things during the week, so I figured that he was at his limit. I sat on the edge of the bed turned so I could watch him sleep for a moment, and then I leaned down and kissed his cheek gently so as not to wake him. Then I went to shower, and get dressed. Carlie and Bradly were awake and sitting in the kitchen as I walked in. I saw that they were working on breakfast, and they greeted me as I walked in to the room, and I was glad to see them and see how happy they were to see me. "Good morning," I replied back when they greeted me. We inquired about how one another slept, then Carlie let me know that breakfast would be served soon. "I'm guessing that Kevin is still asleep?" Carlie went on. "It wouldn't surprise me," Bradly responded. "He had a lot going on this week with school, his track practice as well as studying for a couple of quizzes coming up in the middle of this up-coming week." "I let him sleep," I answered sitting down after having gotten some coffee which was absolute Heaven! "Thanks for that," Bradly replied. "That was thoughtful of you," Carlie said. "I figured you would let him sleep. That's obviously the kind of person you are, and we've noticed how considerate you've been, as well as how loving of a person you are." "I agree with her," Bradly added. "We know that you live with a foster family right now, and we obviously haven't asked for the story as to how that happened, but I can only imagine how happy they are having you live with them." "It's Daniel, and his son Justin with whom you live correct?" Carlie asked. "That's right," I answered. "I was still rough around the edges when I first came to live with them, but I worked at not allowing those rough edges to continue to stay as such. Also, to be honest I wasn't always as you see me now." I waited to see what they would say, and I watched them for their reactions. They watched me, and had questioning looks on their faces. "What do you mean?" Bradly asked. He then got up and turned down the burners and lowered the heat on the oven. Carlie stood up at that point, and after motioning for me to stand, we went out on the back deck with our coffee. I knew it was time to talk to them about my past, and they clearly understood that there was definitely something more to my story that was heavy. I told them everything, and I told them first about my bio family, leaving nothing out. I even told them about when I was six and attacked by the rat near my back yard, and then told them about getting in to Edgar Bradly's group, as well as how that happened to where I felt like it would be a good idea to join. With this part of the story, I also left nothing out, and I even told them about the multiple rapes Edgar forced upon me, then ended with how I finally turned myself in, and lead up to the part of the story with which they were already familiar. After I finished talking, all but the birds were silent, and even certain individuals within that winged collective were silent as if listening as well. Carlie and Bradly were both watching me, and I could see that there was anger, and I figured that it was anger at how I had treated people while in Edgar Bradly's group, then anger for how I had been treated by him and possibly anger at my bio family for their abuse that set in motion the events that would lead me on that road. "That's all really horrible," Bradly said looking closer at me. "Obviously how you treated those people was wrong, and I can only imagine what they must have gone through." "It should go without saying that they didn't deserve that," Carlie added. "They deserve love, kindness and a safe place in this world the same as you do." "It's also horrible what this Edgar Bradly guy was doing to you, and even worse about how your damn bio parents abused and also neglected you," Bradly responded with sadness, but anger coloring it as he said those last couple of words. "You didn't deserve any of what you were put through either." "No, you didn't," Carlie added. "I'm really sorry to hear about all that you were put through by all those people from your abusive bio parents, to Edgar Bradly and probably others along-side him who either directly helped him, or enabled him. All that being said though, I really am proud of you for working to change, and also proud of how you've been working to be a better person." "I feel the same way as well," Bradly replied. "You've shown yourself to be a really caring and loving person. I've watched you the few times I've seen you and Kevin together, and I know he really cares deeply for you, and he considers you a true friend." "He's right," Carlie interjected. "I'm glad that you and Kevin are such good friends, and I'm really proud to consider you one of our son's best friends." "So am I," Bradly said. "That really means a lot coming from both of you!" I said as I stood and they hugged me for a long moment. "You have our full support," Carlie said. "I'll always be here for you, and if you ever need anything at all, I'll be here to get it for you." "The same goes for me as well," Bradly added. "You definitely have my support, and you're always welcome here at our house." "Absolutely," Carlie went on. "Thanks," I replied hugging them again. "You're welcome," Carlie answered. "Anytime," Bradly answered. There was a sound, and the door to the deck opened and Kevin stood there watching us. He was dressed in a t-shirt, gene shorts and he had on his shoes and socks. I could see that he was freshly showered, and he looked good with his hair combed and his face freshly shaved! Carlie and Bradly said good morning to him, and he sat down next to me, and I saw that he had a cup of coffee in his hand. "Yes, I did let you sleep in," I said as he watched me intently. "Thanks," he said. "I definitely needed it." "You're welcome," I answered. "I figured you did." After Carlie and Bradly went back in to refill their coffee and get breakfast started up with resuming with cooking, I turned to Kevin. He looked back at me, and I could tell that he understood that we had all been talking about something serious before he came out here. "I haven't told them about us," I began. "I did let them know about my past, and their reaction was kind of similar to your reaction when I told you." "It sounds like they were reasonable about it," Kevin answered. "I'd say they were," I replied. "I'm really glad to hear that!" he answered holding my hand and gently squeezing it for a moment. "Speaking of which, do you know when you might want to tell them about us?" I asked leaning close so that only he could hear me. "I'm sure I'll be alright with telling them here soon," he answered. "I'll let you know soon." "That sounds good," I replied. "Do you have any concerns as to when I talk to Daniel about us?" I asked. "There is of course the fact that he doesn't even know that I'm gay, and I've only recently accepted it about myself as well." "You can tell him about us when you feel comfortable to do so, however long or short you decide to wait to let him know," he answered. "Thanks," I said. "I'll let you know when I tell him as well." "That sounds good," Kevin answered. We then returned to the kitchen and breakfast was almost ready. I was glad of that, for I really had built up an appetite! I sat down beside Kevin, and we finished our coffee while talking with Carlie and Bradly as they put the finishing touches on the food. 0000 Daniel cleaned up the kitchen table while Justin washed the couple of plates on which they had their breakfast. They had a couple of pieces of toast, eggs and sausage which both of them really enjoyed, and now it was time to clean up once they had finished. As Daniel threw away the napkins, he continued to take note of Justin's demeaner. While Justin had talked happily enough through breakfast, Daniel noticed that he seemed off in some way, then as he saw Justin finish drying the last plate then place it in the dish drainer, he realized what it was. Justin seemed a bit down, or slightly sad. Then as Justin walked towards the table to check it's cleanliness, Daniel could see that he looked kind of distracted. After Justin let him know the table was good after feeling it for a moment, they went in to the living room. "So my cleaning skills are still working good?" Daniel said smiling as he sat down beside Justin on the couch. "Yeah," Justin answered as he waited for Daniel. "Oh, right," Daniel said. "We need to get your eyedrops." "I know," Justin said less enthused about this last part. "I know you don't like them," Daniel replied hugging him and then kissing him on the forehead. "Hopefully the doctors will give us good news here at your next eye appointment in a few days." "I hope so," Justin replied. Justin had Glaucoma, and they found it a couple of months after he was born. He would cry, and then rub at his eyes, as well as turn his head from lights, even ones that were hardly bright. Concerned, Daniel brought him to his eye doctor, and when he examined Justin's eyes after giving him a sedative, he immediately saw the busted blood vessels, as well as when taking a pressure reading which was 40, he then called in a specialist and after about 30 minutes of examining and questions to Daniel, they made the diagnosis of Glaucoma, and while they started him on eye drops, his vision as they would discover wasn't the full amount that one would expect to see in someone Justin's age, so they further diagnosed him as being low-vision, and by the time he was three Justin would be totally blind in both eyes. Daniel was supportive through it all, and his sister Martha was supportive as well. Daniel had cut ties with his and Martha's family including their parents shortly before Justin was born, and Martha who was six years older than Daniel had left home just a couple of days after she turned 18. Their parents were abusive to both of them, and Daniel would try to protect Martha from as much of the abuse as he could, and only after he left and got a place of his own did Martha confide in him that their father had been molesting her, and he kept her quiet by telling her that he'd kill Daniel if she ever said anything. The threat unfortunately worked, and even years after they both left, Martha couldn't even think about going to the police, and she focused on getting counseling for what she had been through, and Daniel had done the same. He wanted to be a stable and healthy person on whom Justin or any kid could rely, and when he learned that he was going to be a father, he was especially glad that he had started going to counseling. While Daniel hoped that Beth, Justin's mom would be the one with whom he'd spend his life, she started staying away more and more each night shortly after she learned that she was pregnant, and just days before Justin was born, Daniel sat her down, and she admitted that she had been cheating on him. She then said that after the baby was born, she was leaving and didn't want anything from Daniel. She actually said that she didn't want a fucking thing from him, not his help, his support and not one god-damn sent of Child Support, but for him to just take what she considered to be his Bastard child and for them to both leave her the god-damn fuck alone! Daniel was more than happy to oblige, and just a couple of days later Beth called him and let him know that she was in the ER, and that she was in labor. Once Daniel arrived at the hospital, the doctors found that they would have to do a C. Section, and it went quickly. Justin came in to the world seemingly healthy with the exception of his eyes, and while no known cause was found for the Glaucoma that they would find a couple of months later, he was pronounced healthy when the doctor checked him out after removing him from Beth's womb. Just a couple of days after the birth, Beth had signed away her parental rights, literally. She let Daniel know this on the morning that the attorney brought over the papers, and Daniel looked at them unbelieving. He had at least hoped that she would be there for Justin in some way that would be beneficial for his life. "You really are selfish!" Daniel exclaimed as he felt his rage heating up as he stepped up to the edge of her bed where she sat reclined against the pillows. "No I'm not," she said looking defiantly at him. "I'm just not ready to be tied down with a kid." "I'll sign the damn papers," Daniel said as he did just that, and almost ripped a hole in the area of the paper on which he signed his name, that's how enraged he was. "You better know this right now though, if our, I mean, my son ever asks where his mom is, I won't give him some Bullshit story. I won't tell him things that make you look horrible, nor will I tell him things to poison him against you, but I won't cover for your Bullshit either! Do you understand me!" "Fucking fine!" she shot back. "You can name the brat yourself as well. Also, you can go now. I need to find out where the fucking doctor is. I at least abstained from drinking while pregnant, so the little urchin won't have any problems. At least he won't have any problems you could try to blame on me. In short, I need a fucking drink, and I think I've waited long enough." "I'll get the damn doctor," Daniel said completely at the end of his patients with Beth and her Bullshit. "Before I leave to get him, I'm going to let you know something right now." "Ooooh, he's going to let me know something," she said with a mean and mocking smile. "What my grate Lord and Excellence? What is it that thou thinketh Thy must let me know?" Daniel leaned close so that his face was inches away from hers, then he spoke. "You can think this is totally fucking funny all you want," he began in a low and threatening tone that could have chilled ice. "Let me tell you something though, I'll go along with you and believe what you said about not drinking or doing anything else that could have put my son's health at risk, but you better hear this last part, and hear it fucking well, because if I have to repeat myself again then I'll make sure that there's hell to pay for you. If at any time during his next few exams by his doctor, if anything even so much as an odd twitch of his right pinky finger occurs, I'll have him tested for everything, every god-damn thing from Shaken-Baby Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and everything in between; all of it, every fucking thing!" "Excuse me," a new voice said just as Daniel concluded his tirade. "Do you understand everything that I told you?" he went on as if the new voice hadn't spoken at all. "You better treat this little conversation as seriously as if it was Moses being given the 10 Commandments by God to take down from the mountain. You hear me!" "Oh for fuck's sake!" Beth shouted. "I heard every god-damn word you said. I'll agree to everything, okay!" "Good enough," Daniel said standing straight again, and then he saw movement near his left side. "Excuse me," the voice said again. Daniel turned around, and he saw the doctor standing there. "Sorry Dr.," Daniel said. "obviously we didn't hear you come in. I had been planning to come and get you, as Beth needed to see you." "I needed to see her as well," the doctor replied. "So I'm here now fortunately." He let her know that he needed to examine her, and then after that was done he allowed her to be released from the hospital. She left, and Daniel went in to sit with his new-born son. As he sat there holding his new-born son in his arms, he looked at him. Like Daniel, he had deep-blue eyes, and Daniel wondered if he'd have his deep-black hair once his hair grew in. "I've been wondering what to name you," he said softly as the baby looked up at him. "The name Justin as been in my mind a few times, but I never got a chance to talk it over with your mom, and I won't be able to now unfortunately. I think that name will fit, and your middle name will be William after my cousin. I'm sure he'll love that, so it's nice to have you in my life, and I love you Justin William. I love you very much, and I'll always be here for you. You'll never be alone, nor will you lack for anything in this world, not as long as I'm around." Daniel's cousin William was the only person out of their family, with the exception of Martha who would have anything to do with him, and Daniel thought of him as a big brother, though they were about the same age. William had a wisdom about him that was beyond his years, and it made sense. William's parents were just as abusive to him as had Daniel and Martha's been, and so it would stand to reason, that unfortunately William would grow up fast. Daniel returned to himself as he stood in front of the medicine cabinet. He hadn't expected to think about all that, but it had come up all the same. He took the eyedrops back in to the living room, and after administering them to his son, he watched as Justin wiped away the excess medicine from under his eyes, then Daniel returned the bottle of drops back to the restroom, then joined his son back on the couch as Justin sat there with the TV playing, though he didn't seem to be paying much attention to it. "Not interested in cartoons this morning?" Daniel asked as he cuddled his son. Justin snuggled in to his embrace, and rested his head on Daniel's chest. "They're alright," he said. "You seem like something's on your mind this morning," Daniel responded. "You've seemed preoccupied all morning actually." "Yeah, you're right," Justin answered. "It seems different here without Cole around." "Maybe like something's missing?" Daniel asked. "Yeah, exactly like that," Justin said lifting his head up and focusing on the direction of Daniel's face. "I really love having Cole living here with us, and I know he's referred to as your "Foster" son, and my "Foster" brother, but I think of him as my real brother, and your real son. Him not being related to either of us genetically doesn't matter to me at all." Daniel knew that Justin was deeply sensitive, and he loved deeply, but this was definitely one time that surprised Daniel with how loving Justin could be. He hugged his son, and kissed his cheek, then his forehead. "That's really sweet of you to say Justin," Daniel said as he held him. "I'm truly proud of you, and proud to call you my son, and I'm really glad that you love Cole that deeply, and I actually love him that deeply as well!" "I'm glad you feel that way also!" Justin replied as he kissed Daniel's cheek, then rested his head on his chest again. "I miss him is what I'm saying." "Yeah, I miss him as well," Daniel answered. "He'll be back sometime tomorrow though." "I'll be glad to see him," Justin went on. "I just hope that he and Kevin are having a good time, and I hope they'll be really happy in their relationship." "What do you mean about their relationship?" Daniel asked surprised. "You mean their friendship?" "No, their relationship," Justin said with more emphasis on the word "Relationship". "I'm sure they're just friends," Daniel said, but he was wondering in his head though. "If they were boyfriends, how would you feel about that?" Justin asked. "Well, of course you know that I love anyone who's LGBT, and if that's who they both are, and if they're wanting to be boyfriends, then I'm fine with that," Daniel replied. "I figured you'd be fine with it," Justin answered. "So maybe they're not in a relationship as more than friends, but I can tell how deeply in love they are, and I hope they're happy together if they become more than friends like I said." "Me too," Daniel said, then thought in his head. "How perceptive is this kid?" Now Justin was paying attention to the TV, and he and Daniel sat there as they both watched TV enjoying their quiet and peaceful home with all of the woods outback. 0000 Cole Kevin and I went swimming in the lake we had swam in the first time we camped out together. We came back to it that Saturday, and when we invited Bradly and Carlie, they said that they were going to be going out for a bit to do some shopping, as well as to check out a movie. We decided to enjoy that time alone with each other while they would be gone, and after we finished swimming, Kevin and I lay in an area a few feet away from the water that was hidden by several trees and bushes. It gave us some privacy, and we lay naked in each other's arms kissing, caressing and rubbing our cocks together. We both came hard, and at the same time, then after we wiped up our cum, we lay there gently kissing for a few minutes, and then I broke the kiss and looked around at the area in which we lay. The trees were thick with leaves, and it was quiet in the forest, as well as deeply peaceful. There were also flowers of various colors to my right if I lay on my back, and I truly loved being there. "I really love it here," I said turning back to face Kevin who was on his side like me and facing me. "I especially love being here with you!" "I feel the same," Kevin answered. "It's truly amazing being here with you, and it's so peaceful and calming here!" "It definitely is," I answered. We lay there for a few more minutes, then we got dressed then hiked back out of the woods, and then returned to the house to have lunch. It was turning out to be the best day ever! Author's Notes I hope all of you enjoyed how I handled Cole telling Kevin's parents about his past, as well as enjoyed me sharing more of Daniel and Justin's back story. I had plans to do that eventually, and decided that this chapter was the one in which I'd share those details. So as I said, I hope you all liked that. I'll be continuing on with Kevin and Cole's weekend together in the next chapter, and as for when Justin basically figured out how the two boys feel about one another, he and they will be talking about that as well in the next chapter. So those among a couple of other events will be ones you guys all have to look forward to in Chapter 12. All that being said, I hope everyone is staying safe, doing well and I'll see all of you in Chapter 12.
