Date: Fri, 2 Mar 2012 00:55:19 -0800 From: Trevor Johnson Subject: Davey Chapter 10 DAVEY CHAPTER TEN Written by Trevor Consultant JPG Editor Kent Editor Jack Proof Reader Richie Because of the three week break between my stories here is the final paragraph of the previous chapter Davey and Johnny had just got their lunch and were sitting at their usual table with Jacob, and the rest of the guys when one of Jacob's security detail came up whispering something in Jacob's ear. Jacob looked across at Davey a worried look on his face before beckoning Davey to join him as he moved some distance from the table so they wouldn't be overheard. Now read on "Security tells me that there is a guy outside the school gates asking to see you Davey. He refuses to give his name but says you do know him. Because he hasn't had clearance he can't come in. Unless you really want to, I suggest you don't go out there." Jacob told him. "I think it might be Jared, my old next door neighbour who went to jail because of me. I don't think I can cope with seeing him right now." "In that case we'll have security move him on." Jacob said before giving instructions to security. The guy nodded and went to carry out Jacob's orders. "Davey we worry about you, but don't forget we are one big family here, all willing and happy to help each other." They re-joined the others at the table and Johnny Walker wanted to know what it was all about from Davey, but he replied, "Oh nothing just a misunderstanding about someone who thought he knew me but didn't." Outside the school security approached Jared telling him what Davey had said. That appeared to upset him because he went berserk trying to push past them and get onto the school grounds. "Davey wouldn't tell me to go. Your all lying; he loves me and wants to be with me." His shouting and actions were getting louder and more violent by the minute. Jacob's security had no option but to call the police, restraining him in the meantime. When the police arrived they took Jared into custody. When they checked up on him they found that he had no right to be approaching Davey anyway. He was arrested and placed in a holding cell until officers from Amarillo arrived to take him back to their prison. Meanwhile Margaret Buchanan was enjoying her freedom and was back in her old apartment. Heeding the advice of her Lawyer she abstained from drinking alcohol and hired a cleaning company to clear up the mess she had left in her apartment. She also contacted the other Margaret suggesting that they meet for lunch and discuss the charges pending against them. Margaret Jenkins was bored. Being suspended from working as a social worker meant that she had nothing to do all day except worry about the charges hanging over her head. Her parents were supportive of her, believing that she is innocent and a victim of circumstances, so they backed her up all the way. Receiving a phone call from the other Margaret cheered her up immensely and she readily agreed to meet her for lunch. Both of them arrived at the restaurant they had decided upon at the same time and were led to a table in a corner which was quiet, which was what they had requested. They spent some time relating to each other their experiences in jail and Margaret Jenkins was appalled at the treatment her friend had received at the hands of the guards. "What do you think our chances are of getting off these charges?" Margaret Buchanan asked. "According to my attorney, the statement your son Garrett has made is very damming and he believes the district attorney has a strong case against us." "My lawyer has more or less said the same thing." They stopped discussing the case when the waitress arrived to take their order. Margaret Jenkins spoke up once the waitress moved away. "I think the only chance we have is to discredit Garrett's statement, saying that he is a disturbed boy with a vivid imagination who doesn't know right from wrong. He also has a violent temper, sometimes beating you up when he couldn't get his own way." Margaret Buchannan didn't like the idea of painting a picture of her only son which was so wrong, and out of character. She loved her son and was still finding it hard to accept that he made such a statement just to get himself an easier sentence. "I know you have a soft spot for your only son but this is all about survival, and if we have to bring your son down in the meantime, well so be it." Margret Jenkins pointed out. "I suppose your right but I hate doing it." "He did it to you without thinking twice and in this case it could be the difference between walking out of the courtroom free or getting twenty five years in prison. Personally, I don't want to go back into that horrible place ever again." The two Margaret's continued chatting and plotting throughout lunch and Margaret Jenkins was very surprised that her partner in crime had no alcohol to drink at all during the meal or after. Luke finally tracked down the investigating detective in Amarillo. David Hawkins was handling the rape case in which Bethany's Brother Mark allegedly raped a girl several years ago. After introducing himself to David Hawkins, Luke began asking him questions regarding the rape. He thought Detective Hawkins was very evasive about the whole case, "Oh he did it alright." But when Luke questioned him about what evidence he had, his replies were very non-committal. "Did you ever question Mark Schubert in regards to the rape?" Luke asked. "No he had disappeared before I could question him and has been on the run ever since." Was the reply. "And what steps apart from listing him on a wanted poster have been taken to find him?" "Look buddy I don't have the time or the resources to run about the state looking for this guy, we have a lot of other cases closer to home to work on." Luke was getting very frustrated with his negative answers so he thanked him and ended the call. He then contacted a Texas Ranger buddy of his who was currently working in the Amarillo area. Luke told him all the details of the case and asked him to look into it as special favour. His buddy promised to do it right away and get back to him hopefully before the end of the day. Davey was pretty shaken up when he re-joined the group at the table, so Carlos noticing this decided to try and take Davey's mind off whatever he was stressing about. "Hey Davey seeing as I can't go anywhere with Kimberly after school, what say we go down to that Karate club just down the road from the school and check it out. You'll be in that won't you Johnny?" "Sounds like a good plan what do you say Davey?" Johnny said. "Well, I suppose we could go look but I wouldn't be able to do anything strenuous just yet otherwise I'll end up back in hospital and I don't want that." Davey told them. So it was agreed that they would meet after school and check it out. Garrett and Jake along with the other guys from the alternative school were slowly settling into a steady routine. They worked at the school during the day learning a trade before being transported back to the hotel and their own secure floor. They had meals in the restaurant but usually at different times than the others staying in the Joey Alvarez shelter, so they didn't mix. Occasionally they did catch site of some of the others staying there. The evenings were pretty much their own and were usually spent watching TV. So far Jake had left Garrett pretty much alone at the latter's request. Garrett was still confused regarding his sexuality. The only sex in his life had been with his mother who as he learned more and more about the way she treated him, he loathed and hated her. The only other sexual activity had been with Jake and was confined to the odd blow job, so he was still pretty naïve when it came to his sexual education. He would dearly have loved to have tried it with a girl but that option was a good few years away when he was back in general population. Luke was in his office dictating letters to Pru, his secretary. Mind you he spent more time looking at her than dictating and couldn't help thinking how beautiful she was. He began checking her out in earnest from top to bottom. She had auburn coloured hair set in tight curls, only light make-up which enhanced her skin tones and she had the most gorgeous shaped lips which right then and there, he would have loved to kiss. Her breasts under a floral blouse looked firm and pointed without being overly large. The were just how Luke liked them, believing in the old saying what you can't get into your mouth is wasted. He was suddenly brought out of his daydream by Pru asking if there was anything he wanted, otherwise she would get to typing up these letters. "Oh yes, sorry Pru, I was miles away for a moment there. No there's nothing else right now. Err are we still all right for dinner tonight?" "Yes, I'll meet you at seven as we arranged. In fact, I'm quite looking forward to it." Beaming all over his face, Luke watched her well-turned ankles and lovely long legs walk out of his office. Only then did he dare stand up to go get a cold drink from his small refrigerator set in the corner of his office. By the time he got his soda, the massive erection he had went down and he was able to get back to concentrating on his workload. Luke was just about to leave for the day. He had plenty of time to get ready for his date with Pru when the phone rang. He thought twice about answering it but decided he'd better. He was glad he did because it was his Texas Ranger buddy in Amarillo with news about the alleged rape charge against Mark Schubert. "Hi Luke, your enquiry about this rape case opened a can of worms. The Detective David Hawkins handling this case is one nasty piece of work. When we began investigating the rape, we found out that the girl had never heard of Mark Schubert and under questioning she told us that the detective himself had raped her. Because she had lodged a complaint and couldn't withdraw it, David Hawkins is paying her monthly sums to keep her quiet until he can get someone arrested and charged for the crime he committed. We still have a lot more work to do on this case because it looks as if several guys have been put into prison for rapes this detective committed." Luke could barely believe what he was hearing right now as his buddy continued, "It's going to take a while to sort out the mess. Meanwhile, Detective Hawkins is now behind bars and looks like he will be staying there for a while. Your friend Mark Schubert is off the hook, which he wasn't really ever on." Luke thanked his friend, requesting that he be kept in the loop on this case. Once he hung up the phone he sat thinking for a while before calling Sally to tell her the news. When Sally answered the phone he told her the big news. While it was a relief for her to hear, she wasn't sure if it was going to repair the rift that now exists between her and Bethany, her new found girlfriend, "Thanks for the news Luke and it is good to hear, but I don't even know if Bethany will give me the time of day to explain it all, she still refuses to answer my phone calls." "I'm sorry to hear that mom because she is a great lady; ideal for you. The two of you looked so happy together that night at the restaurant." Luke said. "I've been so miserable since we stopped seeing each other. I do miss her so much." "I hope you both get back together mom, I don't suppose I should be telling you my news but I will anyway. Tonight I'm having dinner with Pru my new secretary and mom I'm falling in love. She's a beautiful sweet girl and I really believe that she is the one for me, but I don't know yet what she thinks about me. Ok, we get on great at work but that's different, so think of me tonight mom and I'll talk to you tomorrow." They ended the call and Luke felt a bit of heel bragging about his love when his mother's was on the rocks right now. Looking at his watch he realized he'd been on the phone for some time and he would now have to rush to get ready for his date. On the way to get ready he stopped at a flower shop and bought a single red rose to present to his new found rose tonight. Laughing to himself he realized that he was pulling out all stops to woo this girl. Sally sat looking down at the phone for a long time after talking to Luke. She was happy for her son and hopes that his new found girlfriend felt the same way as he did for her. Finally plucking up courage she dialled Bethany's apartment number. It rang for quite a while and Sally was just about to hang up when a familiar voice said, "Hello?" "Hello Bethany, how are you?" "I'm ok." Was the reply and then Bethany continued, "No, I'm not, I feel like shit. I should never have acted the way I did to you and if you've just called to say goodbye, well I'll understand that as well, considering my attitude." "I called to give you some good news and also hope that we can meet up and sort things out as well." Sally told her. "I love you Sally and I have been such a fucking idiot. Anyway let's start mending bridges after you tell me the good news." Sally went on to explain the news that Luke had just told her and when she had finished Bethany burst into tears. "Thank goodness. Ever since you told me I have been worried sick about my brother because I just couldn't picture him doing something like that; he's too nice a guy." Sally too had tears rolling down her cheeks touched by Bethany's emotions. "Let's meet in a couple of hours and have a drink and dinner together." Sally suggested with Bethany agreeing. They chose a restaurant, a nice quiet Mexican place which served good food. As soon as the final bell sounded, Carlos, Johnny and Davey met at their lockers, putting the books and stuff they didn't need away before rushing off to walk just a few blocks down the road to this Karate club. None of them had any idea what it was like and if it was no good there were several others in El Paso, Carlos picked this one out because it was the closest to the school. Just as they were going out the gates Davey's security came running to ask why he wasn't going back to the hotel with the others. "I'm sorry, I forgot to let anyone know Carlos, Johnny and I are going to check out a local karate club." The guy relayed this information back to the others before explaining "I'm sorry Davey but whenever you go anywhere from now on you must have one of us with you at all times. So I will have to come along with you and I would prefer if we had transport on hand as well." "But it's only a couple of blocks away so we're going to walk if that's all right with you." Said Carlos taking control. "No that's ok, I will arrange for a car from the hotel to pick us up when you have finished." Davey banged his head with his hand because he had completely forgotten about making arrangements for getting back home afterwards. The conversation as they walked down the road was pretty general until they were getting close, then Davey made a request to the other guys, "I would prefer until we find out what this place is like that you don't mention my qualifications. It might alter the way whoever is running this place to act differently. The best way to find out if the place is any good or not is to just be beginners thinking about taking up the doctrine." Both of the other guys looked at Davey a bit strange when he used the word doctrine. So he explained a bit more what he meant, "Karate isn't only a sport or a means of fighting it is the preparation of one's mind, of controlling oneself spiritually, while culturally learning the art of self-defence." The other two stared at him open mouthed because they had never heard Davey talk so authoritatively and in such a calm soothing voice as he did just then. Before they could ask him any questions about what he just said, they had arrived at the club which was held in a ramshackle old tin shed. Inside was just a bare room with a few benches around the outside walls and a couple of thick white mats in the middle of the room. They noticed that a lot of those attending classes were women, along with a large number of school kids several of which they recognized from El Paso high. They stood just inside the doorway watching what was happening. It looked like organized chaos. No one came near them, so Carlos approached a big over weight guy who appeared to be in charge. He politely introduced himself and the guy said to him, "Just join the others you'll catch on quick enough and you can pay me at the end of the session." He then turned his back on Carlos and went on chatting to someone else. Everyone appeared to be prancing around shouting and making arm and body movements but no one was instructing them on how to do anything. Davey said, "Come on lets go, this isn't Karate. It's just an excuse to make money. They started to leave and just as they were going out the door the guy Carlos spoke to came running over, "You haven't paid me. Don't tell me you're skipping out without paying me, "Come on." Carlos said, "We've just walked in and don't like what we see. We haven't done anything." "You still came to my lesson so you must pay five dollars each." "No way sir, we didn't join, we just watched for about five minutes and we are not paying a dollar a minute for that." By now Carlos was beginning to lose his cool, so Davey tapped him on the shoulder so he could say something, He spoke several words in Japanese and the guy looked at him as if he was from another planet. "We speak American in here buddy none of that foreign shit." "Excuse me sir, but what are your qualifications to teach Karate?" "I've been taught by some of the finest Japanese masters of the art I'll let you know." "Well in that case sir you would have understood what I just said in Japanese because it is the traditional greeting one master gives to another. Do you know who first introduced the Japanese art of Karate to the world?" "Err I forget right now, the guy's name escapes me." "His name is Kanga Sakugawa. I wasn't going to admit this, but I have the highest back belt you can possibly hold without travelling to Japan and training with the grand masters themselves. You are getting money under false pretences here sir." All the time Davey was speaking in a controlled peaceful voice which the other two marvelled at because they had never seen him like this before. The owner was looking worried now because some of the others had gathered round to listen to what was being said. "I think you three and your bodyguard should leave right now before I call the police. There will be no charge this time but I don't want to see you in here again." Carlos was about to say something but Davey motioned for him to be silent as they left the shed. Their transport had arrived to pick them up. As they walked towards it several people came out running after them. Davey's security stepped between them and his young charge but they explained that they heard what went on inside and wanted to talk to Davey. Davey said it was ok and one of them a young lady acted as spokesperson. "Are you really fully qualified in Karate?" She asked. "Yes." Davey replied before explaining what all his qualifications were, plus he mentioned some of the competitions he had won. "Look we're not happy with the training we're getting here. He hasn't a clue about Karate if you ask me. Would you be interested in teaching some of us? We would pay you of course, plus it would be great to be taught properly." After giving it some thought Davey replied, "I would love to, but firstly I have only recently got out of the hospital, and I am not fit enough to get right into Karate right now. In addition, I don't have anywhere that I can use as a space to run classes." Carlos spoke up next, "Look we would also like to learn from young Davey here as well, so leave it to us and we'll see if we can find somewhere suitable so he can run his classes, and when we do we'll advertise it in the newspapers." That appeared to satisfy them and they moved away leaving the boys to climb into the truck which had arrived for them to take Davey and Johnny Walker back to the hotel and Carlos home. Right on time Luke picked up Pru. They drove to a quiet little restaurant that he had discovered a couple of weeks ago where the food was great and atmosphere just right. The rose impressed Pru and Luke looked very impressive in a light grey suit with matching tie and light tan shoes. In fact, he looked the perfect guy about town. Pru had also gone out of her way to look absolutely stunning. In fact, every guy and women for that matter turned their heads when she walked in. They were shown to a nice cosy table set in a corner away from the majority of diners. After ordering drinks and food they chatted away finding out a bit more about each other. Both of them felt the magic which was being transferred between them and before long, while waiting for their meal, Luke's hand found Pru's across the table. Sally and Bethany arrived at the same time outside the restaurant they arranged to meet at, and after a quick hug they entered waiting to be seated. Looking around Sally muttered, "Oh goodness me." "What is it what's the matter?" Bethany said. Turning her face back towards the door Sally muttered, "We'll have to find another place to eat at. My son Luke is over in the corner with his date. He'll think I'm checking up on him and even if we sat somewhere else we would be cramping his style." Bethany couldn't help but laugh and that attracted Luke to the two people standing at the door, "Oh dear." He muttered. "What is it what's the matter?" Pru asked having no idea of what was going on behind her. "My mother just walked in along with her friend." Pru also could see the funny side of it just like Bethany and turning round to see, noticed the two ladies; one looking concerned and the other laughing. "Why don't you invite them over Luke, I would love to meet your mother." Meanwhile Bethany was saying more or less the same thing to Sally saying that she would love to meet Luke's girlfriend. Luke had no other option but to stand up and wave them over. Bethany immediately began walking over while Sally hesitated before shrugging her shoulders and following. They arrived at the table and Luke did all the introduction before suggesting they sit down, "No that's all right son we'll head off and leave you two to yourselves." "Nonsense." Pru replied, "Why not join us?" "Yes, come sit down and join us." Luke added trying to not appear as if he didn't mean what he was saying, although he was. All four of them sat down and the two ladies ordered drinks and their meal. Finally seeing the funny side of it, Sally explained to Pru and Bethany, "My son and I must have good taste when it comes to eating out because we both chose this place. However, we had no idea the other was coming here tonight." Everyone thought it was a big joke except for Luke who felt cramped and surrounded by women when he only wanted the company of one, not three. Bethany took hold on Luke's hand squeezing it saying, "Thank you so much for what you did for my brother. It was a big relief when I discovered tonight from Sally that the accusations were false." "No problem Bethany, I am happy that we caught the real culprit and that the wrong man didn't get put into jail." In fact, Pru got on very well with Sally and her partner and Luke gradually relaxed more and began to enjoy the evening. Back at the hotel the guys were also sitting down to their evening meal. Johnny Walker now that he lives in the hotel was able to join them. He told the rest of them about what happened at the so called Karate club and how some of those attending wanted Davey to start his own classes. "That's all well and good, but I will have to find somewhere to hold those classes, to rent a place, and to fit it out will cost money." Davey explained. The table was silent for a while as everyone thought about what Davey had just said. Joey was the first to speak, "How about setting up your classes here at the hotel?" That idea caught everyone's attention. "How do you mean Joey?" Davey asked. "We have plenty of room here, plus it would help the boys if they could learn Karate as well. So, you will have no shortage of pupils of that I'm sure and I would be dead right in saying that you would be the highest qualified instructor in El Paso." Davey didn't say anything but certainly started thinking about the possibilities. Gloria piped up saying, "But Davey don't forget that you have to get a lot fitter before you get into anything strenuous like Karate." "I know that mom and I explained that to Carlos and Johnny earlier today at school." All the guys thought the idea of a Karate school would be great right here in the hotel. "Look Davey I'm a bit in the dark regarding Karate, how did it start and is it just so that you can learn to fight better and protect yourself or is there more to it than that." Joey wanted to know. Davey took his time before answering as he gathered his thoughts together. "As I told that idiot today who was running that fake school it was founded by Kanga Sakugawa, and was started in the Ryukyu Islands before being developed further on the Japanese mainland. Karate is a striking art using punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes, and open-handed techniques such as knife-hands. Grappling, locks, restraints, throws, and vital point strikes are taught in some styles. Today karate is practiced for self-perfection, for cultural reasons, for self-defence and as a sport. While many people learn it just for the fighting capabilities, it also helps the inner sense. I took up Karate because I found it had a calming effect on me, plus you don't need someone else to fight with because you can also practice the art by yourself, which I found even more calming." When he had finished talking all the other boys were looking at him open-mouthed because he appeared to be almost a different person. He spoke in a much calmer quieter voice almost as if it was a different person speaking. Certainly after having it explained to them by Davey most of the boys wanted to try it and suggested that Davey go ahead and start a Karate school in the hotel. Once the subject changed, Johnny Walker whispered to Davey that they should have some alone time together until his mom finished her work. So the two of them, while no one else was taking a lot of notice, headed off for Davey's room. On the floor below, Garrett and Jake were lying on their beds watching television, when Garrett announced he was going to have a shower. Grabbing some clean clothes he headed into the bathroom and after taking a leak he stripped off, got the water to the temperature he liked and then stepped into the shower. As he was soaping himself up he heard the bathroom door open but thought nothing of it, thinking Jake was taking a leak or brushing his teeth. The next thing he knew the shower door opened and Jake jumped in totally naked and with a massive erection, "Hey man we haven't done this for a while but I'd like you to take care of this for me if you don't mind." "Jake I told you before I don't think I'm gay and I don't really want to do this right now." Garrett pleaded. Not taking no for an answer, Jake grabbed Garrett's head pulling him down towards his cock. He began to struggle but he was no match for the bigger stronger African American. Rather than struggle and lose anyway, he gave in taking this massive cock into his mouth with Jake forcing it further down his throat. Then he began to gag. Pulling off a bit, Jake began setting a tempo with his hands behind Garrett's head. He gradually increased speed until he finally yelled, "I'm coming." And he blew a massive load down Garrett's throat. When he had finished and his cock slackened, he lifted Garrett up kissing him, forcing his tongue between his lips and teeth and no matter how much deep down he tried to resist, Garrett became more and more turned on and excited by these hot kisses. Jake whispered in his ear, "I want you to fuck me Garrett and fuck me good." Garrett in his own mind didn't want to do this. Yet as Jake slid to the floor with his legs in the air and his butt hole pointing upwards, Garrett couldn't help himself. Kneeling down between the black guy's legs, he positioned his cock and began entering him slowly at first, but then he found that he couldn't stop and began thrusting harder and harder. Jake had a look of complete satisfaction as his partner pounded more and more into him and he began encouraging Garrett by saying, "Come on man fuck me, fuck me good, harder, please fill me with you big cock." This only excited Garrett even more and with the water from the shower washing away the perspiration which was flowing out of him, he thrust more and more, and harder still, until at last his whole body stiffened and he filled Jake full of juice. He lay on top of his roommate totally exhausted with just about every muscle he had aching. As he began to realize what he had done, a feeling of loathing and hatred came over him and he began to lay into Jake with his fists, throwing punch after punch at Jake's face and yelling hatred at him about what he had been made to do. The stronger Jake lifted Garrett off him and threw him against the shower wall taking all the breath out of his body, "Don't you ever hit me again like that man or I'll fucking kill you." Jake snarled as he left the shower, dried himself, dressed and left with Garrett cowering in the corner not knowing what to do. Garrett lay shivering, still in the shower and his thoughts went back to his mother and for the first time in a long while, he wished she was with him to comfort him and love him. He began to quietly cry and must have laid there for about thirty minutes before Jake came back in gently lifting him up drying and dressing him before carrying him back into the bedroom. "I'm sorry man, I truly am. I love you Garrett, it's just that nobody has ever gotten close enough to me to hit me before. I'm sorry man please say you forgive me." He gently kissed Garrett on the lips as he laid him on top of his bed before lying down beside him. "I, I'm sorry I hit you Jake because I like you as well. I'm not sure if I love you but... Oh fuck I don't know, my mind is all fucked up right now. I think I'm going crazy because I can't think straight and I'm scared of what's happening to me and what's going to happen to me?" "It's all my fault man; I shouldn't have done what I did in the shower or at any of those other times either. Forgive me please?" Turning to face Jake, Garrett smiled a thin smile but a smile nevertheless, "I think I love you man, but I don't know for sure and you should be forgiving me for what I just did." He went on to explain to Jake that he was getting a lot of headaches and fuzziness in his head. Whenever he thought of what they did together and what he used to do with his mother, the thoughts would get all jumbled and mixed up in his head, "Am I going crazy Jake?" "No I don't think you are man but you should see a shrink or something to help you straighten yourself out." Jake told him. They slept in the same bed, arms around each other, for the whole evening not moving until it was time for breakfast. Back at the Mexican restaurant the evening went very well considering that Luke would have preferred to have been alone with Pru, and Sally would have liked to have had an evening alone with Bethany. But, by sheer co-incidence they showed up at the same restaurant. With the meal over Luke suggested to Pru that they make a move. After kissing his mother and Bethany goodbye they both headed out to Luke's car. "Your mother is a lovely person Luke, and her friend is very nice as well." Luke agreed with her wondering if she had realized that the two ladies were an item or was she just being polite. They arrived at Pru's apartment block and Luke pulled up outside. They sat staring into space for a while waiting for the other to speak, neither of them sure where to go from here. Finally Pru took the bull by the horns so to speak saying, "Would you like to come in for a cup of coffee?" Without any hesitation Luke said yes, thanking his lucky stars that she had at last invited him in. Pru's apartment was a very smart one bedroom compact little place with all the modern conveniences and very tastefully furnished, "You have a lovely place here Pru, a bit like the kind of place I'm looking for right now." "Yes it is in a nice setting, complete with a swimming pool and the neighbours; well I hardly see or hear them." She then invited Luke to sit down on the sofa while she got the coffee. When she came back she sat down next to him and once again there was silence while they sipped their coffee. Suddenly they both decided to speak at the same time and that relieved the tension as they both burst out laughing, "You go first Pru." Luke said still smiling. "I was just going to thank you for a wonderful evening and how I enjoyed you, your mother's and her friend's company." "Well I was just about to thank you for joining me this evening and making it such a wonderful evening, so we were both on the same wavelength." He reached over to hold Pru's hand which he had done a couple of times in the restaurant; a gesture which she accepted. He then leant across and gently kissed her lips with Pru responding. Earlier Luke had made up his mind that he wasn't going to rush things because he sensed that his secretary wasn't one to be bullied or rushed into a situation. "I would certainly like to have a repeat performance of tonight's dinner if it is all right with you?" "I would like that Luke, but let me say that I am a little hesitant at establishing a long term relationship with a police officer. Especially with someone who I work very closely with, I hope you understand that?" "Of course I understand Pru, so let's just take things a step at a time and see how we get on together. Although I would like to say that I do like you a lot. I find you attractive, smart and a wonderful young lady." "Thank you Luke and I also find you a well presented young man who I would love to get to know better." Luke began kissing her some more and their passion was beginning to rise until Pru said, "I think we should stop there before we go too far and maybe do something we might regret. As you pointed out just before, let's take it a step at a time, and I think we might be reaching the point when we could easily miss a step or two." Both of them laughed at that remark as Luke stood up pulling Pru up into his arms, kissing her and saying goodnight. They walked to the door, kissed again and then Luke was on his way to his car and to his own bed. The other couple from the restaurant, Sally and Bethany, arrived at Bethany's apartment and were sitting together chatting. Just like the other couple after a long pause they both began talking at once. Laughing Sally said, "Go on you go first. "Bethany also laughed before speaking, "Sally, I'm sorry that I over reacted when you told me about my brother Mark. Luke was only doing his job and thinking of you, which is what any good son should do. Please accept my apology?" "Of course I do Bethany darling I love you too much to hold a grudge. We both acted like silly little schoolgirls when we should have known better." Bethany took Sally in her arms kissing her long and passionately, "I love you too baby, I want to be with you for the rest of my life, to sleep with you, make love to you, and live as a married couple." Sally broke off looking at Bethany, staring into her eyes with thoughts going through her head, `did she just propose to me?' As if reading her thoughts Bethany said, "Yes I did just propose to you, I want us to be together for ever." "Oh Bethany ever since we got to know each other I have been wanting to hear those words. Several times I was going to ask you the same thing. But I was too scared to take the plunge thinking you might reject me and I couldn't stand that." They began to kiss and grope each other; their actions becoming more and more frenzied until they finished up in bed enjoying wonderful sex filled with love not lust. They fell asleep together not waking until the early morning light was beginning to lighten the room. Happy?" Bethany asked. "Completely my darling." Was the reply. They were silent for a while holding on to each other. "Would you like to move in with me Sally?" Bethany asked. "I would love to, nothing would make me happier, but if we have sessions like we did last night every night I won't be able to get up and walk, never mind go to work." Sally said laughing. Bethany joined in her laughter and when it had died down they kissed before getting out of bed to have breakfast and get ready for work. Up in his room Johnny and Davey kissed and cuddled for a while not wanting to start anything too heavy because Johnny's mom would be calling him soon to go their rooms, "What was all that about during lunch today when security called you and Jacob out?' "Oh nothing just someone who thought they knew me trying to get into the school." "Davey I thought we agreed no secrets, yet what you're telling me right now is bullshit. The look on your face when you came back to the table was telling a different story than what you just told me." With an ashamed look on his face Davey nodded, "Your right Johnny and I didn't want to tell you because it would upset you for sure, and anyway I couldn't say anything at the table with all the guys there listening." He went on to tell Johnny all about Jared and in the past how much he loved him because he was the only one willing to help him. He left nothing out and when he had finished, Johnny looked worried which was what Davey expected him to be, which is why he didn't tell him before and didn't really want to tell him now. "Do you still love him Davey?" Johnny asked with an anxious tone in his voice. It took his boyfriend a long time to answer as he thought about what he was going to say and would it hurt the boy he was so much in love with, "I suppose I do in a way because he was my first true love. Ok, I had sex with a few guys, not many but there was no love in it just sex. Jared made me feel so wonderful inside. So yes I think I do love him a little bit still, but I love you more Johnny, it's you I want to spend my life with." This appeared to reassure Johnny but he was still fearful that he could lose his lover to this older, more experienced man who obviously loved Davey dearly or why would he risk an increased jail sentence to get in touch with him. "Davey I love you so much, promise me that you will never ever leave me?" "I love you too Johnny more than you can ever imagine and I want us to be together for ever. Don't worry about Jared, he was something that happened in the past and while I will always remember him and have a place in my heart for him because of him being there when I needed someone, but believe me that is all." Leaning in to kiss him long and hard, Davey hoped that what he said Johnny believed and understood, because he meant every single word. Johnny believed him but hoped that this Jared wouldn't try and come between them because he could see trouble ahead if he did. Jared himself wasn't feeling very happy sitting in a cell waiting to go back to his regular cell in Amarillo. The minute he was arrested he request an attorney, but no one has arrived as yet and he was beginning to panic. That panic eased when he was taken out of the cell and put into an interview room. He didn't have to wait long before a young man came in armed with a briefcase full of papers and looking very flustered, "Mr Jared Dempsey?" he asked holding out his hand, telling Jared that his name was Nigel Peters. They shook and both sat down on opposite sides of the table. "Don't get me wrong Mr Peters, but you look very young to be an attorney." Blushing, his attorney informed him that he was just out of college and he hadn't been practising law very long. Jared groaned inwardly thinking what this young kid can do to help him. "I would like you to relate to me everything that happened from the time you met this young man until I walked through that door. I would appreciate it if you left nothing out; the more information I have, the better. Don't think you will embarrass me with graphic detail. Before I came to see you I checked your file and I think maybe and it's a big maybe, but I may have found a loophole but don't build your hopes up too high just yet." He continued studying his files and notes before speaking again, "Do you think if I approached Davey and his new parents that they would be happy to talk to me?" "I have no idea at all. I have spoken to Davey on the phone and that is all." "Ok I will apply for you to remain here so that I can continue to work with you. This might not work but I will try." Once again he paused while his client continued to look totally puzzled then he continued, "If I can talk to Davey and also his parents to convince them that nothing happened between you and him that he was using you for counselling and that was all. Especially regarding the abuse from his foster parents. It all depends on Davey and the advice he gets from his parents." "At the moment he is uncertain what he wants to do. He has been through a very traumatic time. So I for one can't predict what his reaction will be, but if you think the courts will see it that way then I hope you are successful." "Plus one thing that I forgot to mention is that there were no witnesses to what happened in your home so it is only the word of you and Davey." "As soon as I leave here I will contact the family and see how we go and hopefully they will agree to my meeting with Davey." Before they parted Jared thanked his new found lawyer for his help adding, "If what you are saying is proven and the charges against me are dismissed will it be possible for me to either get my old job back or at least seek some compensation from the school board in Amarillo who had me dismissed?" "That is a strong possibility which when the time comes, if you wish to retain me as your attorney, I can look into it." The only thought going through Jared's head right now was how was he going to pay this guy because he had sold his house, his car and all his possessions to pay for his court case, "Look Nigel, I lost everything I owned to pay for my legal team when I was arrested, so as of now I have no money to pay you. So maybe you should forget the whole thing because there is no way I can pay you any money." Don't worry about that Jared, I had already thought about that and I will be happy work on a no win no pay scheme in this case. Because we will also sue for wrongful arrest, wrongful dismissal and perhaps even take you're neighbour to court for slander and defamation which will adequately cover my fees and give you a nice little nest egg as well." It was a very happy man who returned to his cell after shaking his lawyers hand, thanking him over and over again for all that he was doing. Lying back on his bunk in the country jail he felt happy and at peace with the world. Thinking that it sometimes was a good thing to get a brand new attorney straight out of college, who was keen to make a name for himself instead of going for a more prim and proper died in the wool law firm. Back in his office which consisted of a desk, a couple of chairs, a laptop and a phone, Nigel dialled the number for the hotel that Jared had given him and was soon speaking to Gloria. It took him a while to get through to Gloria who he was and what he wanted. Gloria didn't have much of a clue about who Jared Dempsey was. She had heard the name mentioned when Davey first arrived and Sally was explaining his background; but that was all. Mrs Hernandez I would like with your permission and his of course, to speak to Davey regarding Jared Dempsey. It is possible that he was wrongfully arrested and charged with sexual abuse on young Davey when he lived in Amarillo and I am eager to clear his name. Mr. Dempsey is currently in jail here in El Paso waiting to be sent back to Amarillo, and I would like to stop that transfer if I can. However, to do that I need to speak and hopefully obtain a statement from Davey regarding his association with Mr Dempsey. I believe he was wholly and solely acting as a councillor and advisor to Davey regarding the abuse he was receiving from his foster parents." Only half of what he had said really sank in with Gloria but this nice sounding man had a convincing voice so she said, "I will go and speak with Davey about this Jared Dempsey, and if he agrees I will call you back right away tonight before he goes to bed. If he says no, then that will be the end of the matter because I do not want him hounded. The poor boy has suffered so much over the past few weeks and I don't want him having to worry any more about anything else. Is that understood, err. Mr Peters." Thanking Gloria and promising that if Davey said no than that would be the end of it. He hung up after saying that he would be waiting for her to call back. Peggy Walker was just walking along the corridor to collect Johnny and go to their rooms when Gloria came out of her room to talk to Davey in the one next door. "Are you heading for the same room as I am?" Gloria asked. "Yes, it time I collected Johnny and we went back to our rooms and you can bet neither of them have done any homework either." Peggy said with a laugh. Both ladies stopped outside Davey's door and knocked loudly, grinning knowingly to each other when they heard the scuffling going on inside the room. Finally a voice said come in and they both entered to find the boys sitting at Davey's desk pretending to do their homework. "Time for us to go Johnny, and Gloria wants to talk to Davey, so let's get going so we don't hold her up." Gloria entered Davey's room suggesting that he sit down for a minute. That brought a look of panic onto his face so Gloria set to put his mind at rest, "Don't worry Davey you're not in any kind of trouble but I do have to talk to you about a phone call I just got which is very important." Davey nodded his head but still had a worried look along with one of puzzlement, because he had no idea what his new mother was talking about, "I'm going to ask you something about your past Davey which you may not want to talk about but I think we have to. I have just been talking to an attorney who represents a man called Jared Dempsey, who I think you, knew in Amarillo, and is that correct?" Again Davey nodded his head mumbling a yes. Gloria continued, "Mr. Dempsey was arrested and went to prison because of your relationship with him. Is that true?" Again Davey said yes in a very quiet voice. "Would you like to tell me about that Davey?" Nothing was said for what seemed to be minutes but was more than likely only seconds, "He lived next door to me and was very kind and good to me when my foster family treated me badly and I grew to love him dearly. Without Jared I think I would be dead by now." Gloria went and sat next to Davey holding him in her arms as tears grew in both their eyes. "I'm so sorry that I am stirring up bad memories for you son, but I told the lawyer for Jared as you call him that I would ask you this important question. It appears that if it can be proven that Mr. Dempsey, err. Jared was acting as a mentor and councillor to you because of the abuse and hardship you were suffering at the hands of your foster parents, then his prison sentence could be squashed and he could receive a handsome payment for wrongful arrest and maybe even get his old coaching job back." That news made Davey brighten up a bit as he allowed the information to sink in, "And what has all this to do with me mom?" "Well the lawyer wants to come to see you early tomorrow, to ask you some questions and take down a statement from you. All this has to be done before Mr. Dempsey is sent back to Amarillo. "Did the lawyer tell you that Jared has been on the phone to me and also tried to see me at school today, but security wouldn't let him and that's how he came to be arrested?" "Why didn't you tell us this Davey, we like to know what is going on in your life so that we can help you?" "Sorry mom, I was all mixed up when he came back into my life because I still love him and he loves me." "So something did happen between the two of you?" Gloria asked worried about what she was being told. "Yes, but I was the one who made it happen, not Jared and he should never have gone to prison." Davey was beginning to tear up again and he clung to Gloria for comfort which she willingly gave. "And do you want to talk to this lawyer and help Jared or no?" "Yes, I will help him all I can because it was my fault and not his." Gloria thought for a while before continuing, "And if this man comes back into your life where will this leave Johnny Walker?" "Oh mom how could you even ask me that question? Johnny is my boyfriend and I want him with me for ever is that understood? Jared helped me when no one else would. I will always love him for that, but I won't ditch Johnny or hurt him in anyway over all this. I promise you that." "You're a good boy Davey and we all love you and will support you. With Johnny Walker by your side, you will gain in strength of that I'm sure." She kissed him on the cheek holding him tight for a while longer before saying, "I will call this attorney back and tell him that you will see him right after breakfast before you go to school because I don't want you missing any more school right now. It's time you were in bed Davey." She added kissing him once more on the cheek before getting up and going to use the phone in her and Andy's room, making the appointment for the morning and hoping she was doing the right thing. Early the next morning Gloria woke Davey up so he would be downstairs and ready for when Jared's lawyer arrived. Right at the time arranged, he walked into the hotel foyer greeting first Gloria and then Davey, "Good morning Davey, sorry that it's very early but we have to move quickly on this before Jared gets moved back to Amarillo. Did your mother explain what this morning's meeting is all about?" "Yes sir, more or less. If I say Jared was only helping me out with advice and also helping me cope with the verbal abuse I was receiving from my foster parents, then he could have the charges against him dropped is that right?" "That's right Davey and I think the best thing is for us to sit down in a quiet corner and you just tell me in your own words what took place. Do you want your new mother to stay or would you rather talk to me on your own it's entirely up to you?" Davey looked across at Gloria and she said it was up to him, "It might be better if I just spoke to you sir." "Ok if that is what you want and my name is Nigel so please call me that." Davey nodded his head while Gloria suggested that she get some breakfast for them both so they could eat and chat at the same time. "That's very nice of you Gloria, if I may call you that?" She nodded and headed into the restaurant not only to get breakfast for them but also to satisfy the curiosity and stares coming their way from all the others coming down for breakfast. "If you're ready Davey I would like you to just tell me everything that took place whenever you visited Jared's house. I may ask you questions from time to time and also check on something that Jared has also told me, but please just talk to me about what happened." Davey began telling his story making sure that he left out the juicy sex bits; otherwise Jared would never get out of prison even though it was Davey who seduced him. It took a lot longer than was expected and Gloria was hovering in the background looking at the time making sure that Davey wouldn't be too late for school. Finally it was all done and Nigel was very happy with the result. "Would it be all right if I came to your school at lunchtime so you can sign and check your statement and then I will get it into court this afternoon?" Davey looked questioningly at Gloria who said, "Yes, that should be all right. I'll arrange for security to bring him out to the school entrance as soon as he has eaten lunch." They made a definite time and then it was all over. Gloria drove Davey to school because all the other boys had long gone. He made it just before the first bell and had to rush to his first class and Davey wasn't sure how he was going to explain to Johnny Walker what he had done; especially after their conversation last night. To Be Continued. Writers Corner: Another chapter with a lot going on right now. The more I get into this story the more I am enjoying writing it. I now feel that I know Davey personally along with all the other characters. Anyway the chapter started with Davey being told Jared was at the front gate and he didn't think he could face him right now and that's understandable when you think of everything he has gone through. Really for Jared that was a lucky break because then he might not have come across his attorney, a bright keen young guy right out of college and out to make a name for himself. In actual fact, the idea for getting Jared off the hook and out of prison and the method used was given to me by one of our readers and I thank him very much for his idea which apparently could and has happened in the past. But, and it's a big but Davey will have to perjure himself because no matter how much Davey seduced Jared the fact that he had sex with an underage person is against the law and quite rightly so. Another problem I can see on the horizon is will Davey, who still loves Jared go more towards him and away from Johnny Walker. I doubt it, but you never know. What do you think? Just a reminder that Peggy Walker and her two children are now living in the hotel until Jacob and Dewayne's new house is built and then they too will move along with Davey, of course. A lot of this chapter was about Davey because we also had the visit to the so called Karate school and what a sham that was. I certainly hope that the plan to hold classes at the hotel works and I can picture Davey becoming very well known in that field in El Paso. What a strange co-incidence that Luke and Pru on their first date should choose the same restaurant as Sally and Bethany. By all accounts it worked out well and Luke looks as if he could win Pru over if he takes it steady. Plus Sally and Bethany are now back together again and look like they will be moving in together. I almost forgot Garrett, he is having trouble getting his head around his sexuality and let's face it, Jake isn't helping any either. I think they should be in different rooms but Jake appears to have a lot of say among the bosses as who does what and where. Then we have the meeting of the two Margaret's plotting to try and stay out of prison and it looks like it might just be at Garrett's expense. A lot happening and a lot more that can and might happen so please keep on reading and letting us know how we are doing. As we keep reminding you this is the only pay we get. Until next time keep on reading. Hugs Trevor Supertev699@hotmail.com Editor's Corner: Life is rarely simple--certainly not in the lives of this story's characters. I am pleased that Trevor is telling the story at a leisurely pace so that neither his characters nor his readers get lost in the story. "Haste makes waste!" is not just an old saying--it is also too often the truth. Conflicting values and loyalty is just one of the major issues highlighted in this chapter. Davey's dual loyalty to both Jared and Johnny is just one example. Luke's loyalty to his mom and to Pru is another. I hope that Davey tells Johnny all about his trying to help Jarod and that Johnny will see this as making himself as a 'helpmate' to Davey as together they work for Jared. A team-effort can help eliminate any possible fears of rejection. The Karate class idea for Davey to teach is also a good one to help him see himself as a contributor, a positive leader of others. This would be a real plus in self-concept based on fact, and not a fake one with shiny stars on a paper. Thanks for staying with us. Do let Trevor hear from you with your own reactions and ideas. Me too for that matter! :-) kent@jacobmillertex.com --Kent D. (sw Ohio area) Jack's Corner: Indeed, a lot has happened in this chapter. I was truly hoping that the issue with Bethany's brother Mark, would work out, and it has. It seems like there are dirty cops everywhere and they were up to now able to get away with their actions because their superiors were just as dirty. Luke and the new Police Chief have their work cut out for them to clean up the mess. I just hope it will not take too long to do it. Anyway, now that Mark has been cleared, he, his sister and his family can get on with their lives. What a great life Bethany has to look forward to. She and Sally are well on their way to starting a whole new chapter in their lives and I am so very happy for them. It reminds me a bit about two personal friends of mine who are also beginning to develop a strong relationship and I pray that they will find happiness and joy in their future lives as well. Luke and Pru are also learning more about each other too. However, being in a supervisory position over Pru, Luke can find himself in a very difficult situation, pursuing a romantic relationship. It would be best, if Luke and Paul, the Assistant Chief of the Uniformed Division, were to exchange secretaries. That way Luke would not be supervising Pru and not be in a compromising position. I must admire Davey in the way he handled himself with the so-called Karate instructor when he and his friends talked with him. Davey was wise to keep secret his Karate accomplishments and awards, because it allowed him to catch this instructor in lies. I loved the part when Davey greeted and addressed this guy using the traditional Japanese greeting of one master to another. I wish I were there to see the look on this idiot's face when that happened. The two Margaret's never cease to amaze me. Just when I think justice will prevail, they conspire against Garrett, only to save their own skins. I hope the D.A. and Judge Evans can see through all this bullshit and put them away for a long, long time. Speaking of Garrett, he is one troubled puppy. He needs real help or he is heading for a big meltdown. I hope Jake can help convince Garrett to seek the help he so desperately needs. I hope that Davey is doing the right thing regarding Jared. I would hate to see Davey get himself in trouble for trying to help out Jared by making and signing that statement. AND how is all of this going to affect Davey's relationship with Johnny? I guess we will just have to wait and see how all of this plays out. So, my dear readers, I ask you to take a few moments to share your thoughts with us. Please send Trevor and me an email, or leave a message/comment below. Until next time, Huggs, Jack jack@jacobmillertex.com
