I think that does it. Enjoy. Chapter 8 The next day came in a bright sunny day and Josh, Patrick and I got news from my mom that Bengy was doing well in his therapy and he was growing used to functioning without the use of his legs. She then said that she would help us with helping the boy that beat me up the day before. We headed off to school and worked through our morning classes. Once lunch came around, I went to the guys' restroom and went in. I was looking for the boy and I figured he'd be in the room. I went over to the stall that I stood in front of yesterday when he was in there. I knocked and I heard a choking sound followed by vomiting. Pushing opened the door, I saw him. small spots of blood were on the back of his jeans and his shirt pulled up a little in the back to give me a view of part of his lower back. There were deep bruises and they looked fresh. I entered the stall and gently took hold of the boy's shoulders. "It's going to be alright," I said softly. "I'll help you. You feel like you're going to get sick again?" He stood over the toilet bole as if he were waiting for the next bout of vomiting to start; it didn't. He stood to his full height and turned to face me. He was crying now and he leaned in to me sobbing uncontrollably. "I'''I'''I'm so sorry," he sobbed. "Oh god I'm so sorry I hurt you yesterday. Just forget about me okay? I don't deserve your help." "Yes you do," I said gently. "I don't know who's been hurting you, but the bastard won't get away with it." "It's my dad. He's been raping me for a few weeks now. He says that he's punishing me for being gay." "Are you gay?" "Yes. I just don't understand why. Why can't I just be normal like other guys?" "You don't choose whether or not to be gay," I said. "It's something that is a part of you. By the way, what's your name?" "David," he began. "It's David Philips. I'm in the ninth grade and I'm in different teachers classes otherwise, I'd probably be in with you guys." "Did your dad hurt you this morning?" "yeah. He, um, well, he stuck it in me this morning as he did yesterday morning and this past Saturday. For the past couple of weeks, he's just been forcing me to suck him." I held David close and at that moment, I wanted to find the bastard who called himself David's father. I stood there with David for a couple more minutes then I moved David away from me so I could call Josh and Mr. Marshall. I made my calls and I explained to David that Josh was my boyfriend. "Is he going to hurt me for how I treated you yesterday?" "No," I said. "He understands what happened." "I was so scared. When you grabbed my wrist, I felt as though everything was happening all over again. When I looked at your face, I would swear that I was seeing my father's face and not yours." David started to cry again and he was shaking badly. "Oh, what's wrong with me?" I helped David to the wall that stood opposite the stalls and I helped him sit. I sat beside him and held him in my arms. "Nothing's wrong with you," I said. "You may have what's called Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Have you heard of it?" "Yeah. It's one thing that army people sometimes can get." "Yeah. Well, we're going to help you." Just then the door opened and Josh, Patrick, and Mr. Marshall walked in. I helped David stand up and we all went down to the clinic. The doctor examined David and did a rape exam. Josh and I had to wait outside the exam room while that part of the exam was being completed. Once it was finished, we were allowed to go back in. Mr. Marshall then came in and he wasn't alone. Beside him, was my mom and two police officers. I then ran to my mom and quickly started to sob. She took me in her arms and held me as I cried. "His bastard of a father's been hurting him. Mom, we have to help him." "We will. I've agreed to take him in to our house. His father's just been arrested for several counts of rape and several counts of child abuse." I was relieved and I was getting my crying under control. I went back over to David and he looked calmer. "I heard what your mom said. Are you guys sure you want me?" "I'm sure," I said. "So am I," my mom said coming over to David. She sat beside David's bed and took his hand. "I'm Jennifer. I'm Michael's mom." "I'm David. I'm glad to meet you, but you're sure you want me?" "Yes. I understand what happened yesterday and what happened to you wasn't your fault." Laying down beside Josh had never felt so good. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy it, because I did very well. It's just that I really needed it after that day's events. Josh, Patrick, David, and I were given early dismissal and in return, Josh, Patrick, and I would do the homework assigned to us and turn it in the next day. David's case was being reviewed to see if he could be placed in with us and our classes. Mr. Marshall's main concern was David's safety and he knew that Josh and I as well as other friends of ours could be trusted unlike a few other students who acted with harmful intent. Bengy eventually came home with us about three weeks later and I felt really happy. Everything seemed to be falling in to place. I saw the looks that past between he and Patrick and I wondered if they'd end up together. The five of us were sitting in Josh's and my room when I got my answer. David sat on Josh's left and I was on Josh's right. Patrick and Bengy sat to my right then Patrick stood and leaned over Bengy who sat in his wheelchair. "I have a surprise for Bengy. Us all being close like we are, I wanted you guys to see it too." Patrick announced this as we sat there. He helped Bengy to his feet and Bengy held his arms around Patrick's neck to support himself. "Bengy," Patrick began. "Will you be my boyfriend?" Bengy's eyes filled with tears and he smiled widely at Patrick. "Yes," he said as he brought his lips to Patrick's. "I'll be your boyfriend." Bengy's and Patrick's lips met and they shared a passionate kiss right there. Josh, David, and I clapped for them excitedly. "Good job you two," I said. "I knew you guys would find each other." "Well," Bengy began. "I think Patrick and I will be going back to our room. We have some things to do." We all hugged and they left. David then said that he would be going to bed as well. I could tell that something was on his mind, but I didn't want to push him. Josh and I hugged David then he went back to his room. I sat there beside Josh and I took his hand in mine. "He may not talk about it, but I know he's lonely," I said softly to Josh. "I know. I hear it in his tones of his voice even though he tries to hide it well." Back in David's room, he lay under the covers crying hard. He had a family who loved him, but why couldn't he find someone to love like his brothers had. He knew he was a loving person and everyone in his new family told him so. He just couldn't seem to find anyone. He lay there thinking of Bengy and Patrick. In spite of his own loneliness, he was really happy for them. He got up off his bed and dried his eyes. He then left his room and knocked on Bengy and Patrick's bedroom door. "Come in," Patrick said on the other side of the door. David entered the room and went over to the two boys. "I want to let you guys know that I'm really happy for you. "Thank you," Bengy said. "It really means a lot to me that you're happy for us and are supportive of us both." Patrick said. "You guys are my brothers and I love you," David said. "I just wish I could find someone special. Everyone tells me that I have so much to give and I just want to share my love with someone." "You'll find someone special," Patrick said. "You're cute and sweet," Bengy said. "I know you'll make someone really happy one day. Maybe sooner than you think." David went over and hugged his brothers. He then left and walked back to his own room. He had no idea just how prophetic Bengy's words would be. When he headed back to his room, David signed on to his AOL Instant Messenger account. He then saw that someone was wanting to talk to him that he had never seen before. He clicked on the window and read the message. Cory Boy69: Hi. You have your profile on here and I wanted to say high. I've seen you around the school when you first came. My name is Cory. Cute Boy45: "Um, I don't think I've seen you around the school before." Cory Boy69: "I stayed out of sight. I really want to be your friend. You look like a sweet person from what's in your profile." Cute Boy45: "Thank you. So which class were you in?" Cory Boy69: "I was in the Students with Disabilities Department taking their adaptive classes. That's about to change. This week coming up, I'll be in with you guys." Cute Boy45: "Why didn't they have you in regular classes before?" Cory Boy69: "I have Cerebral Palsy of my right leg. It's bad enough so I have to use a Support Cane to get around with. Cerebral Palsy is where the muscles and nerves are not working very well with the brain. My brain can't really communicate to my muscles and nerves to do what they're supposed to do in my right leg. It effects my speech as well. I use a Pac Mate to communicate with when I need to form complete sentences. Have you heard of a Pac Mate?" Cute Boy45: "I have. A friend of mine named Josh uses one. He's blind. Are you also blind?" Cory Boy69: "I'm not blind, but the version of the Pac Mate I use is the model that has a regular keyboard like a computer. I type down what I want to say and as I press the space bar, it speaks each word." Cute Boy45: "That's pretty cool." Cory Boy69: "It is. I can say things verbally too, but it takes a while to get words out. I have to speak really slowly and that can be time-consuming." Cute Boy45: "I can imagine." Cory Boy69: "Well, not to cut things short, but I'm going to get going to bed. I have a muscle relaxant I have to take to keep down painful spasms in my right leg. They come from the Cerebral Palsy." Cute Boy45: "It's okay. You need your rest and I'll see you tomorrow if you want to talk more." Cory Boy69: "That sounds good to me." Cute Boy 45: "Okay Cory. Good night." Cory Boy69: "Good night David." David signed off and logged off his computer. He got under the covers and was fast asleep thinking about the boy that he had never met in person yet, but felt he knew all his life. Author Note I do want to let you guys know in advance that the updates to my story will slow down a bit due to my getting ready for my classes I'll be taking in the fall. Take care and I'll see you guys in Chapter 9.
