The parties in this story are underage, but are fictional, so it shouldn't matter. If you are not 18 years or older, you should not be reading this. With that said, from this point on, do what you came here to do and hopefully you enjoy it. God's Creation : Chapter 1 I'm not exactly sure what prompted me to say what I said at the time that I said it. You are always told that hindsight is 20/20. Maybe, someone should have told me that I would be making the biggest mistake of my life. That I would be turning my back on everything that I once knew and loved. Let's start from the beginning. Preliminary introductions are in order. My name is Xander Baxter. I am the son of Pastor Mithell Baxter and Eugenia Baxter. I am the youngest of 7 children (apparently the number of completion) by far, as my next in line kin is 5 years older than me and my oldest brother is 39. I was definitely the mistake that my mother affectionately calls the unplanned creation of God, although I'm pretty sure that He had nothing to do with my inception. I am about to celebrate my 16th birthday in June and can not wait for the 17th. Unfortunately, in my state of residence, you are not elligible for your license until then. Currently, I am 5'10" and hoping to get a little taller, very lightly complected, light brown eyes, braids that my mother can't stand but my dad allows me to have, a runner's build as I have been in the sport for the last 2 years of highschool, and not very apparently gay. Growing up in my family, telling anyone of my particular persuasion was not an option. My mother, a devout Dominican Catholic originally, has blazed the trails in our church for purging the sin from our community. My father, as pastor of the Greater Praise Pentecostal Church, has an image to uphold. My brothers and sisters, 3 of which are ministers, have all followed and abided by these guidelines. I have even fallen in line with the regime as I have been a member of the choir since I could open my mouth. Yes, I'm a very good singer, but I only sing in church. It's what I know and what I have always known. I attend Catholic school because my mother, even though now Pentecostal, holds on to the belief that going to public school will be the ruin of her perfect children. If she only knew that Catholic school was sometimes worse than public. It was here that the issues began in my life. I had resigned myself to the ambiguity of my existence. I got exceptional grades, excelled in my sport, and sang on the school gospel choir (we do live in the inner city... and, there, even Catholic schools have a gospel choir...), and kept to my small group of friends. I dated girls from time to time to keep the heat off. And, no I was not a virgin in that area. I made sure that there was nothing to be spread or talked about in the contrary, and teenage hormones allow a lot of room for error so-to-speak. Yeah, everything was perfectly settled. That is... until he walked in my homeroom class. He was everything that I wanted to be. Medium skinned, tall (about 6'1"), wavy dark hair in a ponytail at the back of his neck, and definitely full of swagger. He walked with a confidence that I could only envy as he walked up to the teacher and handed her a sheet of paper. He turned and I got the second shock of my life. His eyes were almost yellow. They were a very vibrant golden color and, as I soon realized, locked on me! I could not look away. They were enchanting. "Well," Mrs. Lincoln stated almost too cheerfully, "Class! It seems we have a new student. His name is Ty'Shawn Anderson. Please Ty'Shawn, take a seat and we'll get you sorted out." I expected him to walk towards me, but his advancement to the back of the classroom disheartened my initial hope of attraction. Yes, I hoped he was attrected to me. What teenager doesn't like attention? Class resumed until the bell rang for us to leave and I clambored to get up and out of my set. "Xander?" Mrs. Licoln chimed. 'Shit!' I thought. I am a preacher's kid, not a robot. I curse, too. "Yes, Mrs Lincoln?" I turned. "Could you help Ty'Shawn with his schedule? You know the campus and he has many of the same classes that you do. " Ok... now... if he and I shared most of the same classes, that means he was Advanced Placement. I know a little steretypical of me, but he did not look the part. "Uh, sure," I quizzically retorted, turning to the object of attention. "Don't look at me like that, yo," he spoke once I had turned to him. He had one of the deepest voices on a 16 year-old I had ever heard. "Just cuz i'm black don't mean I'm stupid." "I'm sorry," I replied rather guiltily. "I didn't mean to offend you." "It's cool," he stated handing me his schedule very matter-of-factly. His lips curled into a lopsided grin and he added, "I get it all the time. Growing up in Brooklyn ain't no joke, homie." "I can understand." I smiled and surveyed his schedule. He not only had most of my classes, he had them all with some additional course material where I had study hall after lunch. "Looks like we'll be together all day." I quickly chided myself for saying it that way. "Good. At least I won't have to be alone all day." To say I was surprised would have been an understatement. And when I looked up, he was kind of blushing like he hadn't meant to be so candid. I found that odd, as he seemeed so self assured. But I shrugged it off. "Well, let's go." The morning went by quickly as he and I trravelled from class to class together, getting to know one another. He seemed pretty cool, but guarded for some reason. I knew I had just met him, but something seemed to be missing. I especially noticed when we made it to lunch that he seemed to become more agitated. "Yo, you can go on ahead and find your peoples. You ain't gotta wait on me," he said as we approached the doors. "You've been cool so far. Don't embarrass yourself by showing up with the new kid." I looked at him like he had three heads. "What are you talking about, man? Bring your ass!" I playfully punched him on the arm to let him know it was cool. He smiled and walked with me without protest. When we sat down at my usual table, my friends all stared at him. Seated were Maxwell Hinton (another runner and also a starter for our basketball team), Joieto Mendez (the class clown and self proclaimed ladies man), Tianna Reed (one of the best friends I had), and Shaquilla Muhhamed (the only muslim I knew who went to Catholic school). Tianna, as is form, was the first to speak. "Xander! Who is this fine ass boy?" Ty'Shawn blushed at the attention. "Ask him yourself," I answered amused, knowing that she would do just that. "Ok. Who are you, fine ass boy?" "The name's Ty'Shawn." He seemed ok and genuinely amused by her abrupt bluntness. "You, new?" Maxwell asked. "Duh!" Tianna intoned before Ty'Shawn could. "I would have been peeped him before now if he wasn't." "My bad! Damn!" was all Maxwell could say to her. I knew that the playful banter between the two could get ugly if I let it. On so many occasions, the two had literally cleared a room with their arguments. I was personally under the impression that they liked each other, but that was not my burden to bear. "So, Ty'Shawn, where are you from?" Tianna continued. "Brooklyn. And most people call me Ty. My moms calls me Ty'Shawn when she mad or something." "Ty," I cut in before Tianna could continue the Spanish Inquisition, "This is Max, Joey, Shaq, and..." "Tianna!" she enthusiastically finished for me. "But you can call me Tee-Tee." "Cool to meet all of you," he politely replied. The conversation for the table centered around Ty for the remainder of our lunch period. Ty seemed to fit right in to the small group of friends I had collected and they noticed it, as well. I was glad to see him loosen his rigidity around them. I learned that he would be joining the basketball team with Max and had earned some major recognition in the sport. Of course, that set Max off on a tangent. I reliquished my lunch period to the comradery and was surprised when I heard the bell toll as quickly as it did. After separating from the group, I headed to my study hall, leaving a pouting Ty in the hands of an eager Tianna as they had the next class together. I promised to meet Ty by their class at the end to walk with him to our gym period. During my study hall, I did nothing but think of Ty. What was I going to do as far as this was concerned? I knew I was attracted. That was the problem. With Joey and Max, I knew they were two very attractive guys. To that end, they had definitely had their run of females after them. Max had even dated a senior as a freshman himself. Joey would never consider himself dating. Just "getting the draws" or "smashing." But, I had never really felt any attraction myself other than the lust that anyone would feel over seeing the two of them shirtless in the summer. They both had bodies to die for, but I didn't get the same feeling from them. Ty was definitely a different entity. When I reached the door to the classroom, I could see Tianna with her seat unusually close to Ty and Ty looking as though he would be nauseas at any second. The bell rang and I smiled as the two walked out of the room, arms forcefully linked together. "You two look cute together," I teased. "Don't we?!?" Tianna screeched. "I gotta get to my next class, but I'll see you two after school. Bye, Ty." "Peace," he almost whispered. When she was out of ear shot, he turned to me with a pained look on his face. "What did I ever do to you, dawg?" "What do you mean?" I asked, puzzled. "Why did you send me to class with her? It was torture, homie. Not a good look, son." I burst out laughing. I couldn't help it. "Let's get to gym." If you like this story, I'll send chapter 2. Need feedback though. nu_jerzee82@yahoo.com
