If you are offended by this or cannot legally read this in your country, do not read it. * I am Australian and use Australian English, so some words might mean differently to what you are used to. This includes mild swearing, but no homophobic language. I am also a first time Nifty writer. * All characters and other names used are fictitious though there are bits of truth and actual events that inspired this story. I have chosen either unusual names that did not attend my school or really really common names. --- ==Wednesday, mid-lunch== Max was on the hunt. The prey - or rather, the new boy, 15 years old like himself and towering over him a little at 6'1" tall, was standing awkwardly in front of him, schoolbag in tow. The summer heat allowed him to take in and admire the boy's baby smooth face, dark floppy hair, his skinny arms and legs with the uniform blue shirt lightly fluttering above, his slightly reddened skin and the tiny little soft hairs on his young neck. What an unexpected catch! "Sorry, can you move, please? I need to get past." Max knew there was another 12 minutes of lunch time. He just leaned on the drain post obstructing the narrow path and smiled. "Sure... but I haven't seen you before. What's your name?" "J-Jaxon," the boy stuttered. "Cute name for a cute guy." "W-what? I just..." "Can't you just take a fucking compliment, mate?" Jaxon didn't know what to think. He had noticed Max a couple of times in the days since starting year 10 here. He was right now aware of Max's strangely soft, almost fragile, natural beauty on his 5'9" frame which didn't quite fit with his personality. The short, spiky dark brown hair that seemed permanently uncombed as if expressing its own slightly rebellious personality. Those cold, piercing eyes that seemed to settle on him far more than they needed to. He was trying not to look, but it was hard. "Well, don't just stand there. I thought you had to be somewhere... Jaxon." He softened as he carefully said the boy's name. "Yeah, I... uh..." "It's cool. Let me add my number on your phone." Max confidently reached out his hand to receive it. Against his better judgement, Jaxon agreed. On getting his phone back, he quickly slid past Max, breathing out a polite "k, thanks, bye" as he headed across one of the school's many open areas towards one of the classrooms, without ever looking back. He had completely forgotten what he'd set out to do, and the previous few minutes played on his brain on repeat as he tried to figure out what on earth had just happened. "JAX!!! BABY!! HONEY!!" His best friend Kayla was never far away. "How ya going mate?" "Not bad, hey, you?" "Oh you're never going to guess what happened. I saw Sam and Vashti kissing, can you believe it?" (Jaxon could entirely believe it.) "I thought Vashti was with Ryan but I saw Ryan before and who knows what the fuck is going on, so much drama! Oh and did you see that Tiktok everyone's been talking about? It was ... like, the whole thing last week, like, oh my God, can you believe it? It is just crazy what is going on, and like, I heard this guy at the canteen..." Jaxon was a bit preoccupied. "That's cool, Kayla." "Oh you've got to meet Rebecca, I have to introduce you! And Emily, and the other Emily, and Zac ... oh my God, you would love Zac. He is just, so, chill and nice! You'd love him!" "Yeah, that would be fun! Hey, you haven't heard of a guy called Max in our year?" "Who HASN'T??" "Haha, anything I should know?" "Oh, he only talks to you if he wants S-E-X with you." She looked up to see Jaxon's eyes meet hers. "Oh my God, did he try to hit on you??? Jaxon! You can do so much better!" "But he actually seems nice! I don't know, it's all so confusing." "Private school boys..." Kayla sighed at her gorgeous but naive friend. "Please tell me you're not going... like, there." "I'm not! I talked to him for maybe two minutes tops." "Well, be careful! He's a bit of a worry!" The bell rang just at that exact moment. "Shit, let's go!!" The two friends ran towards the "C" block for science class. Jaxon missed his old private school a little, but didn't miss the bullying which had ultimately led his parents to transfer him into the state high school. He'd grown up in the area so he knew quite a few people, but the school was huge and he sometimes felt a bit lost. Like most Australian schools, it had an open design with classroom blocks on a large site, separated by open spaces and gardens through which one could easily wander. There was lots of girls in his classes, which was another thing to get used to after 3 years in all-boys schools. He'd actually begun to wonder if the "crawling with gays" thing he'd been told during his induction was some weird joke - and until Max, he hadn't given much thought to it at all. Oh, Max. What was Jaxon going to do?! As he got his tablet and calculator out for class, he decided not to think any more about that strange, demanding boy from lunch. == Wednesday night, Jaxon's phone == (corrected for spelling) 8:51pm Max: hey Jaxon :) Jaxon: hi Max: how's it hanging Jaxon: cool i guess..? Max: you're meant to say "loose, full of juice, ready for use" Max: they probably don't teach that at Linden Grammar ;) Jaxon: what is your deal, mate? Jaxon: you seem so weird and full on Max: what is anybody's deal? Max: player's gotta play Max: rumour has it that you haven't fucked a single guy three weeks into term, i could ask what is YOUR deal Jaxon: you're assuming I'm gay, lol Max: don't mess with me boy, I know a gay boy when I see one... Max: plus I know things ;) Max: cutie Jaxon: well so what if I am... I was told that kinda everyone is here? Max: yeah but they're boring and you're not boring Max: or at least you don't seem boring Jaxon: right Max: meet me outside block E at recess Max: be there or be square Max: you know you want to... (Jaxon didn't answer) == Thursday morning == Jaxon walked to school with his friends Ellan (pronounced el-LAHN) and Matt. He hadn't decided whether to meet Max or not, and it was eating away at him as they idly chatted about the hockey playoffs and homework. Ellan had been on the hockey team since year 8 and was openly gay - though didn't look it at all - while Matt was in most of Jaxon's advanced classes and was straight. "You're quiet this morning," Ellan said to Jaxon. "Everything OK, mate?" "Still getting used to stuff here," said Jaxon. "Everything is heaps different." "Yeah, it's better," added Matt with a laugh. "GATE (gifted & talented) program, nicer people who don't have their head up their arse..." "I never said it was bad." "The view," Ellan added as he winked at his old friend. "Oh, shut up," Jaxon scolded. "I'm not there to pick up, I'm trying to learn stuff." "Oh, poor, innocent Jaxon." Ellan gently chided his friend. "You've got a lot to learn about boys to survive here." "Aren't you a virgin?" "Well, technically I guess..." Matt snorted. "How can you be 'technically' a virgin? I mean, you are or you aren't, surely..." Ellan countered defensively, "I'm probably the only gay on the hockey team, and plus I'm kind of waiting until I have a boyfriend for that kind of stuff." Jaxon replied, "Well, I'm still a virgin." "I give that about three more weeks! You have no idea what effect your baby face has on guy hormones in this place. I'm immune but..." "It'd be weird if we did it." Matt butted in. "Just fucking stay away from Max. He's a weirdo." Jaxon looked at Matt hesitantly. "What?? How do you know about Max?" Matt was startled. "Um, if you already have, like, um... well, I didn't know." "I'm supposed to be fucking meeting him at recess." "Hope you're planning on using protection, mate. I'm not gay but if I was, I wouldn't go anywhere near that. He's been with half the bloody school - I just guessed he might be after you because you don't know his reputation." "Fuck, thanks for warning me. Oh, holy fuck." Ellan put his arm over Jaxon's shoulder as they walked. "You'll be fine, mate. Just keep your head switched-on." To go or not to go, Jaxon wondered, as they passed the school gates. His dick had gotten a bit hard from both the topic of conversation of his friends, and thoughts of the very pretty Max. What might his body look like? His hands, even? Cuddles? He tried to think back to any detail beyond the hair and eyes that he might have noticed, but he had been too scared and tense to focus on that kind of thing in his first meeting with him. With both Kayla's and Matt's warnings in mind, though, he knew he'd have to be careful. Jaxon had known he was gay for a year now but hadn't done anything about it as it was a quick way to get bashed in his previous school. Here, though, was different. Very different. --- I started writing because I enjoy nifty's stories. If you do as well, please consider a donation to help them with hosting and related expenses.
