LLL – Chapter 38 – Fathers – Invincible Lucas Bear's POV Today was the faithful day of, what will probably be the last, counseling between my dad and I. Without a doubt my dad knows about my choice by now. He lives with Rita, and she's a blabber mouth. I'm convicted in my sexuality now. I know Nick, and I are meant to be together and if he can't get that through his skull... then I guess that's the true end to our relationship. As much as I hate that, I have to be convicted in that too. Nick and Blake both offered to come with me, but this is something I need to do alone. Well, I'm more alone than I thought because Dad hasn't even shown up yet from the looks of it. I guess us doing this is not going to help anything between us. "Lucas Bear, it's your turn." The receptionist smiled over at me. I gave an awkward look. "My dad isn't here yet, though." "He's already with the Doctor. You can go in at any time." Is he already here? When did he get here and for how long? This doesn't sound like my dad. I walked down the hall and opened the door to the office. Sure enough, there was my dad sitting on the couch talking with the therapist. "Good afternoon Lucas. Have a seat." I took a seat on the direct opposite side of the couch. "You father came in a bit early to talk to me about something privately." Now that does sound like my dad. Though that usually doesn't sound good at all. "Oh, okay. How come you came early?" I asked him without looking at him. Dad changed his position and cleared his throat. "Well, Rita told me about what happened at school the other day. So I came here to get a last opinion on something." "Last?" "Well, ever since you came out in grade 9 it's made me think. Sure Riley voiced her opinion on it, and I agreed with it for her, now though it's different. Now that it's gotten a chance to marinate; I have gathered my own opinion. I don't know if that's good or bad... "If my son is going to... if he is into other men, then I must accept that. Both you and Blake left me, and a part of me left with you. A part of me is in everyone I love, but the biggest parts are in my sons, so they come first and foremost in my life. "If they end up with another man as their life partner, I will get behind it, and if my wife doesn't like that... I will have to find another woman who can love me for who I am. And my sons are a part of me, through thick and thin." Wow... Dad really just turned an 180 about the whole thing. I sat there stunned, not knowing what to say or do. What do you do when this happens? I don't know how to react to something like this.... The Doctor looked over to me. "Do you have anything you want to say, Lucas?" I looked from the Doctor to dad... The hell do I say? "Th- Thanks, Dad." I sat there unsure if what I said was okay... if it was terrible. THE HELL DO I SAY RIGHT NOW! Dad just smiled. "For now and forever, just like it should have been from the beginning, I'll be there for you and your brother first and foremost." I shook as I spoke. "I don't even know what to say, dad... The way you first reacted... you practically threw me out of the house. This is a complete one eighty from your standpoint then... I even went out with a girl for a few months, when I did that you didn't even seem proud. Now, I can see the pride you have for me as pure as it can be." Every word I said just came out of nowhere. Like my heart was speaking for my brain. "I am prouder of you than ever. You chose what was important to you, and that's important. I don't know why anyone couldn't be proud of their children when they know what they want." Damn... "I love you son." "I love you too dad." Nikolai Tavenor's POV "He's such an ass!" I swore quite loudly. Mom was not happy with me. "Watch your mouth!" She even pointed her fork at me. To be honest, it scared the shit out of me. She was very serious about it. "Sorry, mom..." I slouched in my seat. "It just pisses me off he's still on about how this could be just a phase. So what if it is? Maybe I'll find a girl who makes me straight, who knows. That doesn't mean I need someone saying it to me!" I'm pissed off, can't you tell? Travis came up and rubbed my shoulders from behind me. "It's fine to be angry Nikolai, but you shouldn't talk about people like that. If you have a problem with it, you should address it head on." Easy for you to say, it's not your dad you have to convince you're gay, and there's no turning back. I sat there grumbling. Mom got up and pinched my cheek. "I agree. You should talk to your dad." "No matter what I say, he always says the same thing." Every single time it's always 'I don't believe it' and he moves the conversation elsewhere. "It's simple then, every time he tells you that, say it again. If your father says it 1000 times, say it 1001 times. It's that one more time that will end up getting through to him. I promise." Travis offered his cup up in a toast. I rolled my eyes. "Dad would kill me by the 100th time, let alone 1000th time." Travis and mom shook their heads. Wednesday just giggled before returning to her food. Later in the week, it was another day of Dad and me hanging out. After school of course. Dad could probably sense the tension between us because the entire car ride we haven't said a word. I'm still not happy with him. We were driving to see a movie in the good movie theatre in the next town over. I sat there staring out the window watching the scenery fly by as we went like 100km an hour along the highway. Dad broke the silence. "Look Nikki..." I cut him off, super quickly. "I don't want to hear you tell me I don't know myself." "That wasn't what I was going to say. I was going to point out the eagle in the air." So he was going to try to avoid the elephant in the room... awesome. "Look, I get you feel that you are gay, but that could change in the future." "It won't! Why can't you accept that I am gay!?" I yelled at him. "Because you're thirteen, Nikolai!" He bit back. I lowered my head realizing that I had yelled at my father. "I get it, you have feelings for Tyson, and those are real. I won't tell you they aren't. But it's not out of the question that in a few years you could discover a girl you have feelings for. You are still you; you've yet to explore the world, Nikki." "Just because I'm young doesn't mean I don't know myself. And so what if down the road I find this fairy tale creature of a girl, what happens then? Am I just going to give up on my feelings for guys and be with this girl for the rest of my life? "Sure, it could happen... but right here, right now I know for a fact boys interest me. Why can't you be supportive of that?" His hand grabbed my shoulder; his eyes stayed on the road. "I am Nikki, I swear." "It doesn't feel like it. It feels more like you are waiting for the day that I realize my feelings for girls. It's like you don't believe that I am gay, or you refuse to accept it. You have hope I'll find a girl and settle down with her. "But that doesn't matter right now! Right now I am gay; that is who I am. There is not a single girl I know of that I can look at and get a rush just from what she looks like. Not like Tyson, when I look at him I get flustered and wonder how did I get so lucky. It's more than just being into guys, dad, it's..." I fell into a loss of words. What word am I looking for? I'm drawing a blank. "It's about the feelings you get when you're around them." Yes, that's it. "It's about that loving feeling you get when you're in their company." Did I just break through to my dad? I nodded. "Ya... that's what I wanted to say." The car entered a silence until we were maybe ten minutes away from our destination. "Dad..." "I get it now Nikki, I'm sorry. If you want to have a relationship with Tyson, there is no just reason for me to tell you otherwise." I really broke through to my dad? Wow... I never thought this day would come. "That is the feeling that matters in life." I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear. That turned my day into one of the best days I've ever had with my dad. We were laughing and being a father, son duo all day. I love my daddy. Antoine Rieu's POV I came into the house, and there was Mattieu sitting in the living room with my dad. "Je pense que je suis dans les gars et les filles" Wait... Mattieu is telling dad, now? He just told him that he's into guys and girls. My dad had a pretty serious face going on. He took in a deep breath and shook his head. "Maintenant, j'ai deux fils homosexuels." Two gay sons? No, no, no... I scowled and was about to march right over to him and freak but Mattieu did it for me. "Je suis toujours dans les filles, pas seulement Blake." The tone in his voice sounded furious. "Blake et je pourrais même pas travailler. Les filles se tournent encore sur moi, cela n'a pas changé." Translation: Blake and I might now even work. Girls still turn me on; that hasn't changed. I just smiled and walked to the stairs and continued down to my room. I didn't find it awkward; they actually continued talking while I passed. Not sure if it's because they didn't care, or just to into it. Whatever the reason, who cares. Later there was a knock on the door. Mattieu came through the door. "Hey, Antoine." "Hey, how was talking with dad?" He huffed. "Not all that great. Mom joined in right after you went downstairs. By the end of the conversation, they were alright with it, but not overly thrilled." Better than against it I guess. "So you and Blake are getting serious, huh?" Mattieu smiled as his face blushed. "That's cool; I'm happy for you guys." "Thanks." His eyes went pretty dreamy, probably about Blake. "Leo even said it was okay. For us... Girls still look nice, but Blake has my full attention." I could only smile until I realized Mattieu had a foot on one of Izzy's art books. "Move your foot, right now!" He looked down and picked up the book. Mattieu opened the first page, and that's when I went to grab it. "No, no, no! You're not allowed to look; Izzy doesn't like it." "Izzy isn't here now is he?" I tried to grab it again and again but to no prevail. Mattieu kicked me back and opened the book. "Wow... this is amazing." "Stop looking at it!" I yelled at him from the floor. Mattieu turned the book over to show a pen drawn picture of me, sitting at my desk, and it was so simple but so complete. "See, it's amazing." I shook my head. "Put it away. Izzy doesn't like people snooping through his art." I snatched it from his hands and threw it onto my desk. "Mattieu..." I huffed. He just shrugged. "You know when I leave you're going to look through it." Mattieu got up and went to the door. "Enjoy." I grabbed the closest thing, my pillow and threw it at my door. Well, I aimed at my brother, but he was gone by the time it would hit him. So... I tried my best not to snoop through the book. I REALLY DID! But I couldn't not do it. Every picture in it was of me or had me as the centerpiece. I turned to the front page and the title read 'The Only One.' Some pages had sketches of my head, face, and nose. The farther you went in, the more in detail the pictures got. The only page that hadn't been touched yet was the last... there wasn't anything on it yet. Every other page had me in one setting or another the last one, though... it didn't have anything besides a title 'Masterpiece.' I couldn't help but grin. Izzy... you're amazing. Tyson Jackson's POV "Hey, Jackson!" Bradie... I'm alone down a hallway; this will be fun. He came up to me, grabbing my ass. "How are you today Tyson?" I pushed his hand away from me. "I'm fine, leave me alone please." I tried to pass him, but he just got really close pushing me into a doorway and out of sight from the hall entrance. "Bradie..." He once again grabbed my ass, this time with both hands. "This ass feels really nice, have you had a cock in it yet?" I pushed with all my might, he barely even moved. "Fuck off Braide. I told you never to ask me for stuff again." He pulled me so close; I could smell his sweat. I am getting turned on, but I don't want to do this. "No, leave me alone." He grabbed my ass so tight I squealed. "Come on Tyson; let's just do this stuff one more time." He ground his hard cock against mine, causing me to moan. "See you're as turned on as I am." He wasn't lying there. I was so turned on, but if it weren't for Nikolai, I would probably do something right now. Nikolai is my boyfriend, though, so if I did do something that would be called cheating. "I CAN'T!" I pushed him harder than I imagined I could. Bradie landed on his ass. "I have a boyfriend, Bradie! There won't be anything happening between us anymore!" Bradie laughed. "You! You have a boyfriend?" He shook his head and laughed. "You're going to have to come up with something better than that." Bradie got up getting close again. I moved out of the way and down the hall away from him. "No, seriously I have a boyfriend. Whatever there is between us is over, we're done Bradie." I back away quickly before what I said really got into his head. I was down the hall and out of the building before I knew it. An end of an era I guess? Chapter End. So here's the second chapter of the three chapter release! Sorry, it's a little shorter, but I really want to get to a certain point to tell you guys stuff. Trust me; you'll like it. TRIVIA!!!! Blake Bear! He originally appeared in Life's Expectations as a side character and then appeared again in LLL, again as a side character until Leo left. So he was never intended to be a main character but ended up being one, kind of. It's awkward actually... Blake is a main character, but I tend not to include him as much as I should. So in my head, he's a main character, without enough POVs Again, meant to be a side character and nothing else. But shit happened.
