If the names and places used sound like anyone or anyplace that you know in real life its just a coincidence I will admit that when I have used true events that happened to me, that I mention it either at the start of the chapter or at the end of it. From the last chapter: Mike: "I have to talk to both Mark and Marty about what we can do." Maria: "If Mike gives his permission I am going to summarize our 90 min talk and submit it to you as part of your on going Nifty therapy, and Mark has expressed an interest in submitting a couple of chapters to take the stress off you." Mike: "Thanks sis, you are the best and I love you." Now on with the story from Marty's Point of View: As much as I love my son, Mike, it's hard to understand why he threw the rock at the school's principal's guide dog. I think that my son was most upset with Mr. Mike told Mark that he had to do certain jobs in order to receive his weekly allowance from Mr. Mike, with whom he was now living. His need for money was the result of the holiday shopping, and Mark did not have enough to buy all the gifts that he wanted to give to others. He put them on lay-away, and then had to work to have the money to finally be able to pay them off to get them out of lay-away. I believe that Mr. Mike was trying to teach Mark the value of earning his money and spending it wisely. I agree with this totally for I did the same to my son right after the New Year. Part of this included canceling Mike's credit cards, so that meant since he had not saved up enough money so that he could go on a vacation during Spring Break. Mike's throwing that rock at Bagger, Mr. Mike's guide dog, and causing that loving black lab dog to lose sight in one eye, started the fear of him by both Mark and Mr. Mike. This was also the reason that caused Mr. Mike to stop seeing me on a regular basis because of his fear of Mike. Mark called to say Mr. Mike and he were going to be staying at a friend's house in Emerald Beach, Florida during the summer while Mr. Mike got his new guide dog. He also said that upon his return that he would be staying with Mr. Mike's brother- in-law so that he could attend summer practice in August. Marie and Mr. Mike would stay in Florida so that he could get a new guide dog at the same school that he had gotten Bagger at only a few years earlier. What he did not tell me was that Mr. Mike had considered moving to Emerald Beach permanently to either retire from teaching, or to take a position offered to him as the new District Superintendent which included becoming the new high school's principal (similar to the position he held at New Town). School started the last week of August and Mr. Mike was not back, and rumors started that it was Mike's fault that he had decided not to return to New Town. Little did we know that the class that Mr. Mike was in did not end until September 9th, and would be flying home that morning. Mark would be picked he and his new guide dog upon arriving at the airport. The players on the football team decided that my son was no longer a team player and was not worthy of being the team captain again this season, and by unanimous vote Mark was once again voted the team captain for the season. After Mr. Mike returned to the school, he was not very friendly toward the football team, but he did attend most of the home games, but not the away games as he had done in the past. I asked Mr. Mike," Is it true that you are leaving New Town because of Mike? His response floored me. "Marty as much as I love being with you and around you, that son of yours is pure evil, and yes, I am considering leaving New Town to take the new job. It is especially interesting since it comes with a new house, car, and a pool for Mark to use." "Marty," he continued, "I would love to have you move with us to Florida, if I take the job. But until Mike learns to start acting like a loving non homophobic person again, I can not go out with you or be anywhere near him as Mike reminds too much of the teenage punks that killed my brothers just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time." Mr. Mike finished by adding, "Mike needs to see Maria or somebody else who can help him over come his short fuse." The only good thing that happened during September and October was that the football team was still undefeated, and yet I felt like I did when the professional football team that I had played for lost a Super Bowl. I felt totally lost especially since Mr. Mike, had told me that he still is afraid of my son, Mike, and that he was really considering moving to Florida. What am I suppose to do give up on my own son, or give up the man that I love and keep my son, or try to convince Mr. Mike to stay at New Town High School while my son goes to see a counselor. Oh what am I to do? I need to talk with Mark and get his view of what is happening, especially since he lives with Mr. Mike and plays football with my son. I don't believe that Mark is afraid of Mike any longer, but I am not really sure about that either. TBC.... Hopefully I will be able to post a chapter every other week except when it's near Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. In the next chapter I may have Mark give his views of what is happening. TRICK OR TREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL READERS !!!! Please support Nifty for all the great work that they do by visiting www.nifty.org Thanks to Richard for acting as my editor. In response to many of you who have emailed me about taking a break and starting another story or to have two going on at the same time. My response is to tell you that I have a sight impairment along with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), and use a screen reader, therefore I plan on getting this possibly to the end of June where it would start as IV-I in either August or September. Once Mike Our Star Player has reached the end of III, then I may consider starting another story but I can not guarantee that I will do it. Thanks again and once again please support Nifty.
