Chapter 13

The trip to Universal the next day was very interesting. They put the two parks in Ohio to shame when it came to guest service, and the employees there were very professional and courteous. Doug, Darren, Fred, and Simon spent the whole day just trying to figure out how they could do so much better than the other parks they had seen. After all, Universal was one of the newest parks in the country. It did not seem that way at all though. It seemed as though they had been around forever, and knew more about what they were doing than anyone else they had seen so far. Everyone had such a good time, they decided to spend another day at Universal as well.

The group finally made it to Disney on the third day, and were once again impressed by the guest service there. It was also amazing how they were able to keep such a large group of parks and services running so smoothly. They were beginning to think that the two parks they visited in Ohio just didn't care much for people.

Everyone was ready for a bit of a let down when they visited the other two major parks in Florida. Sea World and Busch Gardens both seemed just as well run as Universal and Disney though. Doug and Darren were now confident that their park could beat it's closest competitors. It seemed to me like they were looking for someone to bust, and they didn't care who it was, or how much they had to lie to do it."

"Damn man, that really sucks!" exclaimed Doug. "I don't see how anyone could get away with something like that, unless the person in charge of the park just isn't paying attention to what's happening in his own park."

"That means you're free to work for us now though!" said Darren. "You have to do it man! You use to work at Universal, and they are the most impressive park we have seen yet. Besides, you can help us bury the assholes that did that to you."

"What will I do in the meantime though?" asked Tim. "Your park won't be ready to open for a while."

"We'll find something for you to do, even if it's just to write those stories you write." said Doug. "Then when we need you at the park, you'll be ready."

"I don't know how I can thank you guys." said Tim.

"That's easy, just show us how Universal runs their park!" chuckled Darren.

Doug and Darren then both gave Tim a hug, as it looked as though he could use it. Then they told Tim they would come back tomorrow and move him closer to the park. Of course they would begin paying his salary immediately too. After all, Tim had given them a better idea of some of the problems they could face if they didn't do things right.

The next day, after Doug and Darren had moved their friend into an apartment in the same building as Eileen and Chris, it was time for them to get back to football.
